long story short I saw a cool bag on pinterest while I was looking for crochet patterns but there was no fucking pattern but one of my friends found a pattern for a similar but not quite bag so I watched an hour long video, transcribed it into text, and am now gonna make a wholeass backpack just because Sunflower Vibe

Tapu Fini shell design attempts

Okay so I made Tapu Fini in 2022, but I hadn't done the shell design yet (kept it as a blank purple shell) because I couldn't find a satisfactory way of doing it. Normally I like to crochet everything like color changes and little designs directly in the round instead of adding them on top. The Tapu line is probably going to be one of the few times I opt for adding the details on top because the shell is a flat piece so hiding the color change yarn ends is more of a hassle. However, idk if that means I'm going to get felt or try to yarn felt it or up my embroidery game or what, but I'm putting this back to the side again because it's annoying lol

Trying to finish something I was supposed to do ages ago--spinning a contrast color for this sock yarn. The fleece (southdown babydoll) had a pretty wide range of grays, most of which I blended together. But I intentionally left the darkest gray out of the mix so that later I could spin up just that, and have a dark gray for the toe and heel. So, now I'm doing that.

One thing I did not realize until now (due to intentionally avoiding working with the darker gray locks) is that they are all much shorter than the other colors of gray, and a lot of them are way finer too. That's not ideal, so I might not use it for the toe--it won't be as hard-wearing of a yarn and the toe/ball of the foot is what wears out the fastest on my socks by far, so. It's fine though, I just want some kind of decorative element that uses the fact that this fleece had lots of nice colors.

I'm also not that surprised, I guess. The longest locks were always the very light gray ones. Hard to know why without seeing the sheep though.

i love how knitting patterns have super detailed and exact instructions on what to use etc etc and every time i look at one im like. what if i....didn't exactly do that? and just kinda fucked with your instructions a bit hm?

treated myself to a 16inch circular cable and a us10 short tip to make knitting hats easier :) it was on sale and that way it'll save on getting future sizes (like us13) hopefully! i wanted interchangeables for forever so im very excited :3 i got a bunch of patterns i been collecting, i think my goal this year is to knit a bunch and then donate them by the time winter comes around (around decemberish). i also got some dpns and might make more mittens/gloves hopefully... busy hands busy mind plus it gives me a good goal for when im idle and dont know what to knit or do :)
