wifey here again with stepdad!Nik, so I think SD would insist on finishing college since she only has like a year left anyway and because she feels like she'll be able to get a job easier with a degree, she doesn't wanna be a burden. Nikolai ofc lets her finish college, it keeps her busy while at home, settling in nicely to their house. He takes care of her every need, and slowly starts to convince her that she doesn't owe him anything, she's his wife now, or soon to be at the very least. All she needs to do is stay home and worry about their little one. Anytime she has doubts about how much he wants her and wants to provide for her she gets reminded thoroughly. It's when SD's bump is getting noticeable that Nik really steps it up. "What if we both miss the important moments?" and SD eventually is like "yeah, okay, but if it ever becomes a burden I'll get a job" and Nik is real proud of himself. SD also becomes very needy, in just the way Nik loves, she wants to be with him as much as possible and needs help a lot because hormones are fucking with her. And she definitely thanks him plenty for his help whenever she can. Bonus NikPrice x SD reader John decides to visit Nik and his new bird since on their last mission Nikolai wouldn't shut up about her and he immediately gets why when he sees SD, she's so sweet and nurturing and she looks gorgeous all round with Nik's kid, stays a few nights and gets drunk one night and jokingly (sorta) tells Nik he'd love to put the next one in her and Nikolai just hums with a smile "why not?" and reader is suddenly being flirted with by her fiance/husband's friend. Is real worried about it cause she likes it and guility goes to Nik who is 1. Very pleased by her honesty and 2. reassures her and tells her that he's okay with it if she is. (Totally wasn't his plan to get his two favorite people together so he could have them both, nope, that's totally not why he raved about her to John and not one other soul. Mmhm)

You know. Maybe it’s kinda degrading. But I totally imagine Nik comes up with little tasks for her. Let’s be real, it’s so easy— he saw what her mother was like, he can see how starved she is for approval, it practically blinds her. Things like “I want us to get a new car with some more space before the baby comes— can you research what models are best for family? You have a better mind for things like that than me,” he says with an almost sheepish smile. You’re practically wagging your tail with excitement— and you just look so happy when you present all of your work and he seems so pleased with you.

Also, in a bit of darker move, I can imagine if you’re not as into John as all that— they come up with a story. They say that John wants to have a baby of his own, but he’s not married, and he wants to have a kid before he’s too old and his career gets in the way of romance. So he would love for you to be like a surrogate for him. You’ve done so well with this first pregnancy, and you’re still so young— plus! John would be willing to pay, so it’d be like you’ve got your own income to help out!

The only thing is that John believes in natural conception. And he wants to live with you both during the pregnancy to help out. And he doesn’t actually plan on leaving once you have his kid. And Nik knows how sensitive and caring you are— when you confess to him your doubts about giving the baby up for good once it’s born, he comforts you. Of course he’ll talk to John about it, milaya, he’s sure they can come to an agreement.

To start, THIS IS NOT A HATE POST. But it is something that needs to be said. I’d also like to clarify that i’m not trying to ‘clock’ anyone in this post. This is not meant to spiral out into another episode from them or their fans, but if they aren’t going to be good role models for young impressionable children, I will.

First and foremost, absolutely nothing about the way matt reacted in that video was okay. He is 21 years old, he is a grown adult that pays bills and taxes. He should not be laying his hands on anyone in an aggressive matter, even if they are just brothers. Whether you agree or not, that was abuse. Here is the Oxford dictionary definition of the word abuse, for those of you who need clarification.

Now of course, including content like that in a video is an option. And it was an option that they decided to take. Nick DID NOT have to leave that in the video, and if he hadn’t it wouldn’t have caused so many issues. What gets me the most is that some part of him KNEW it was too much because he edited half of that moment OUT of the video. We saw the extended clip through their photodump that shows just how obnoxiously aggressive Matt’s tantrum was. Not only did he hit Nick (quite hard and in a very vulnerable spot), but he also took a gift that Nick had gotten (gag gift or not, it doesn’t matter) he threw it onto the ground and told him to go and pick it up. The average person knows better than to behave that way, and it was very alarming to see that behavior from someone that we all look up to.

This led to a large divide in the fandom. Some people were (understandably) very uncomfortable with Matt’s behavior. And some people defended it with their lives. Now i’m not saying me and my sisters never fought, but we don’t lay our hands on each other. Idk maybe im out of touch with some new-found sibling abuse agreement or something, but we don’t hit each other. We argue, we get mad at each other, we fight and we make up.

Personally, i don’t think there’s anything wrong with calling out your idols when they do something wrong. At the end of the day, we’re all human and we all make mistakes. It’s easy to forget that when you let fame and money get to your head, making you feel invincible because you know your bandwagon of 13 year olds are going to be at your every beck and call. It’s our job as supporters to remind them that mistakes are okay, but accountability still needs to be taken for actions like that.

When you are in a position where you pay your bills by posting your private life on the internet, you cannot get angry that people are going to have comments and opinions about the stuff that you post on the internet…Nick made a comment in yesterdays video about how people need to mind their own business, but…you…willingly posted…that clip to the internet. For millions of people to see. Nick did not have a gun to his head while editing that video, he did not need to include it but it was a decision that he made.

One reason why i don’t watch them anymore is because they refuse to take accountability for anything that they do. They have also been drawing this out much longer than they needed to. The fanbase would’ve talked about it for a week and forgotten about it with the next friday video. The only reason why it’s still getting attention is because they so badly want to seem ‘unbothered’ by it but they keep bringing it up in everything they do. Matt’s instagram story, his comment on Nick’s recent post, their recent tiktok…literally anything that they have posted in the past week and a half, Matt and Nick just CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES from making a snarky comment. It’s a very icky trait to have imo but i’ll keep my mouth shut on that (since it’s illegal to have opinions in this fandom.)

Personally, I think Mallory was valid in her opinion and responses. Maybe terrifying was a strong word to use, which she has addressed, but it’s not like the boys don’t use hyperboles ALL THE TIME. And nothing about her video was her trying to “cancel the triplets”, she was simply sharing her concerns with Matt’s behavior.

The fanbase LOVESSSS to jump to conclusions. Most of us that had an issue with Matt’s behavior were not trying to cancel them. We’re frustrated because they’re grown adults who refuse to take any constructive criticism or accountability. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, the boys dislike ANYONE who is NOT AN ENABLER. Especially Nick. They LOVE an enabler that doesn’t call them out on their crappy behavior.

Back to yesterday’s video, I was VERY unimpressed with their responses. Snarky comment after snarky comment, only proving more and more that they aren’t unbothered by the situation because they’re trying so hard to prove a point. Why not stay silent like you do with everything else? Your ‘friend’ (who you still communicate with but won’t publicly hang out with) who was cancelled for contacting minors? Didn’t have much to say about that did you? But the second something makes them look bad, they jump the gun and go right into defense mode. It’s so funny to me because people would respect them so much more if they just took some accountability, reflected on their actions, and made a change to their behavior.

Including her tiktok in their video was yet another choice they made, and it was a very immature one. You cannot tell me they didn’t think about the outcome of this situation. Singling out ONE PERSON’S VIDEO, putting a target on their back, and opening the gates for these 13-15 year old hellspawn brainwashed sturniolo cult fans to go and cyberbully someone for having an opinion (and a respectful one at that.)

Also trying to blame Chris and saying Matt was ‘provoked’ into hitting Nick???? Chris made a simple comment??? And this is NOT the first time Matt has gone overboard in a reaction he’s had to one of his brothers. He’s had many outbursts, all of which ARE concerning. Throwing things aggressively, hitting, punching, cussing your brothers out on camera…it’s fucking humiliating???? I am so sorry to break it to you all but nothing about that interaction was Chris’s fault AT ALL. So for Nick to pin it on his younger brother, i found it absolutely ridiculous.

And, to sum it up, Nick did not ‘clock her’. I’m sorry but his responses when people call him out always remind me of a middle schooler. He refuses to take any accountability. HE edited the video. HE kept the clip in. HE posted the full clip on their instagram. NICK STURNIOLO DID THAT. HE DID NOT HAVE TO DO THAT.

Can’t wait for reacting to hate comments part 2!!! Because, let’s face it! This isn’t hate, it’s the truth. I’m not an enabler and apparently that makes me a hater.

And yes, they over-do the drama for our entertainment, but they’re so much more entertaining when they’re all getting along?! Even if they have an argument, it’s far more entertaining when they aren’t hitting and kicking and punching. I genuinely think their emphasis on the physical aspects of their videos came straight from the tea party video, because it’s just gotten worse and worse since then.

I haven’t watched them in months and decided to watch that video and it was a clear reminder as to why i don’t watch them anymore. This is not a hate post, i will always be grateful for their videos because they’ve gotten me through some of the darkest moments of my life. From abusive relationships, to losing a loved one to suicide, to the loss of a childhood pet, to losing my job, to trying to take my own life…I am beyond grateful for their videos and I always will be. That being said, i think they have some serious maturing and reflecting to do if they want to continue to grow at the speed they were growing at a year or two ago.

Yes i think Matt is a sweet guy. No i don’t think he meant anything serious by hitting nick. The point is that it does make some of us uncomfortable to see that behavior from a grown man because so many of us have experienced abuse. I’m not saying we’re weak or snowflakes for our responses either. Posting your outbursts on the internet for 6-7 million people to see is a choice, and you cannot expect it to come without consequences.

Hello, me again, your Guardianship AU has latched onto my brain and won’t let go so I have more questions

First, how much does Chris know about the CPS hounding Martin? Does he understand that there’s a real possibility he could be removed from his brother’s custody? In the comic you made, when they were younger, Chris was pretty oblivious about it all (mostly cause Martin didn’t wanna worry him and didn’t tell him any details) but now that he’s a bit older, has he picked up on certain things? ‘Cause you’ve also mentioned that the AU has decent resemblance to Lilo & Stitch, but in that movie Lilo seems very aware of their situation which isn’t the case for Martin and Chris, especially because Martin’s personality is pretty opposite to Nani.

Second, and I totally get it if you don’t know, I’m just an over-thinker, but how would the parents have died in your AU? Because I can see the cause of death being pretty traumatizing depending on what it is, especially for Martin who was old enough to understand what was going on followed by the responsibility of raising his younger brother who is basically the only family he has left. Maybe even for Chris, though as you mention he was too young and doesn’t remember them much anymore.

Once again, love your AUs, Guardianship AU is clearly my favorite but I’m a sucker for sibling dynamics, especially the trope “brothers-against-the-world”.

Chris is definitely more aware of Child Protective Services than he was when he was a kid. They aren’t AS much of a threat anymore which is why Chris isn’t really worried about them. Martin has custody of him, and he just gets evaluated every so often to make sure he’s taking care of Chris and providing him a healthy and stable environment. (CPS is very concerned about chris traveling in the Tortuga but mostly leave them alone now) Martin definitely gets hella stressed when these evaluations come along, but he’s been doing this dance with CPS for so long by that point he’s not as worried. When he was 17, and freshly emancipated he was fightin for his life in those courtrooms 💀

Chris knows about it now, but in his eyes, Martin is the best guardian ever? He cannot fathom the idea of Martin being an “unfit guardian” so he can’t even imagine a situation where CPS would have a reason to take him. Which is also a small point of tension for them? Because on one hand Martin is glad his brother isn’t worried and trusts him, but also feels frustrated by Chris not taking it seriously or understanding the weight of it like he does.

But Chris is honestly more worried about Martin getting sick of having to drag him around and giving up custody of him. But those are repressed emotions to unpack for another day.

And I don’t actually have a reassonnn for the parents death yet. In the hypothetical fanfiction that I have not written yet, I don’t want to explicitly state it. Its something they dont like to talk about. And they probably get really nervous/jittery around any subjects related to the cause. I’m leaning more towards something like a car accident. Something that could happen to anyone, but also very tragic. It’s technically not decided for sure though! So im open to any suggestions at the moment.

I make thingy about Calypso cause I wanna talk about her and some of my just general thoughts about her. THIS EPIC: THE MUSICAL CALYPSO TAKE YALLS ODYSSEY AND PJO CALYPSOs SOMEWHERE ELSE (I might reference them though)

So first off, my general vibe of the character is kind of this optimistic yet isolated goddess to the point of delusion. I’m not exactly sure how to explain it, but considering her rather upbeat music I feel like that’s the vibe Jorge was going for, kind of like Circe in Puppeteer. It’s a great sound to the music but everything else tells you that the situation isn’t good (for Odysseus). In my opinion, Calypso seems to be unaware of the way she makes Odysseus feel. Now whether she’s actively ignoring it or genuinely can’t clock the situation is a whole other thing. I also definitely think she’s manipulative. Again, whether she knows she’s being manipulative or not is something else.

But something that I do find kind of interesting is her age in EPIC. In mythology, we can assume she’s at least a few centuries old (maybe even a millennia? If we go based on the fact she was around during the overthrow of the Titans but also I don’t know much time is in between that and the Odyssey so—). But in EPIC, she says she spent one, her entire life on the island and two, has been alone for 100 years. If she’s not exaggerating to get Odysseus to feel bad, then she’s pretty young in terms of deities. Only around 100 years old. It’s just a thought I had and maybe it makes sense. Hopefully.

Also, I know technically the whole “doomed to fall in love” and “imprisoned on Ogygia” comes from PJO, but that also seems to have a similar presence in EPIC. I think she did fall in love with Odysseus on her own terms rather than being doomed to, but I do think she isn’t able to leave. Maybe it’s not for some divine reason, maybe she just doesn’t know how to get off the island. Or maybe she is. But considering she’s been there her whole life and hasn’t ever bothered to just leave, I’m gonna assume there’s some divine reason she can’t leave. It’s kind of similar with Circe, whose characterization in EPIC seems to have similar elements from Circe in Madeline Miller’s novel (which seems to be indicated in a few lyrics in Done For and There Are Other Ways. Maybe even Wouldn’t You Like since Circe seems to know Hermes personally??? 👀👀)

Hmmm hmmm hmmm, I know there are other things I want to talk about. Oh yeah! I have a theory Zeus played a hand in keeping Odysseus on Ogygia with Calypso. You know, considering his attitude in God Games and some of the lyrics. Like not only does he get pissed at Athena beating him, but he also gets angry when he makes him “feel shame” (shame that he’s had Calypso trap Odysseus on Ogygia for 7 years?)

Anyway, this isn’t to say I like Calypso or am trying to defend her, but I do think she’s a very interesting character and deserves a little more analysis than “r*pist.” Why does she keep Odysseus with her? Are these actions the result of something that happened to her? etc. (these are kind of basic questions but just examples I suppose). Also I’m doing this because gigi’s animatics make me like her more than I should 😔

So if it's not too much to ask, can you give me a summary on the Core Four's personalities? I really wanna know for analysis reasons, I'm re reading all the core 4 young justice and teen titans books and trying to decipher my favorite one.

I can give you the personalities as intended by their creators no problem, Person Newtonote.

Now as you read you might think "Oh, hmm, that doesn't add up with what I've read" when it gets into the Young Justice and Teen Titans books, but that's 'cause different writers write different things, and some writers understand some characters better than others, and some of it is just plain character development, or in worse case writers doing what ever they please 'cause they don't care.

I'll let you judge when what happens.

Onto what you've asked though, I'll try to keep it simple as I can while still being detailed:

Tim Drake:

My personal favorite, that much is likely obvious.

As intended, he is an idealistic young boy, and dreamed of Robin as an even littler boy (he's pretty small for his age). He's clever, and resourceful, and thinks very very highly of the legacy of Robin. It's his heart though that got him his job as Robin, and his compassion and genuine passion for the role of Robin. And he displays what many may call boy scout tendencies. Even admitting to original Robin Dick Grayson that he enjoys helping old lady's cross the road (or something like that.)

Being raised in private schools, without a lot of friends (He's shown having no friends until he goes to public school to my knowledge), he's a pretty naive and oblivious, trusting person. And it's through out his journey's he has to learn how dark Gotham City can get. Though compared to the other Bat-Family members of this era (90s) he's very much the heart and light-hearted youthful energy to it.

His social ability is mostly perfectly fine, he's no complete weirdo. Kid can get friends easy peasy. Easily likable to folks. Endearing. But he has an oblivious side, and can get ahead of himself. Has a habit of getting spiritually adopted by people who instantly want to protect him. Anyone from Batman, to former CIA agents, and even villains. He's just got that babyface on him, and button nose.

He also deals with anxiety in terms of being Robin, being worried that he may be stripped of the job, or let people down, or mess something up. And sometimes that lends him having a lot of insecurities about himself. While having some prior training in martial artists, and implications of having taken gymnastics, also a former boy scout, he still doesn't naturally take to the role like all other Robins around him. Which means he has to try a lot harder to have his keep.

In the Bat-Family in this era (the 90s) he's the heart, and baby to everyone. They're uber protective of him, and take him out of the action when they deem it to be too much for someone like Tim. Within Young Justice he puts on a heavy Robin persona to hide what he's really like. Making himself out to be a more Batman-esque mysterious leader.

When really, he's a dorky, fanboy, who loves Kaijus, Crocky the ??? Crocodile I guess (Basically Barney the Dinosaur), super heroes, cars, Warlocks and Warriors (Dungeons and Dragons), sports, comics, Sci-Fi, fantasy, and cartoons. Self-admitted geek, with some popular interests in there.

Think of Tim as sort of Autistic kind of. He's never officially said to be. But when you read his origin, it's definitely a legitimate way to interpret him. Though I believe his uniqueness is intended to really be molded by Tim's passion, and obliviousness from a lack of parental figures in his very young life.

Tim is supposed to be an optimist, as told by his creator, but to be real a lot of writers seem to forget that, even when making jokes about how he's optimistic compared to others. I think sometimes the writer's own cynism leaks out into him. So remember that...despite a lot of writers forgetting it. Be better than them.

Cassie Sandsmark:

My personal second favorite member, but, please, make up your own mind here.

She's a rebellious teenage girl, and tomboy. She stays up pass curfew to party, but is at heart a good hearted individual who truly wants to help. This comes at odds with her stubborness and headfirst attitude. She hates being treated as a kid. And shows a great deal of intuition and cleverness. She's also a babysitter. Seemingly a good one too.

Her need to prove herself can put itself ahead of her own logic though. And she buts head with her very stuffy mother who doesn't appreciate Cassie's care-free nature. She means a lot to Cassie, and Cassie wants her approval. Cassie's natural being is...very much in contrast to what her mother would prefer though. It's fun.

A lot like Tim she's also shown to be a Super Hero fanboy. For her it's specifically Wonder Woman and the Flash, while with Tim it's basically anyone the writer decides he hasn't met offscreen yet.

Through her journey's she learns to contain herself though, and better use her powers.

Bart Allen:

The most teenager-y teenager you ever seen. He has ADHD, but not the uber-hyperactive, talkative, hugger you see in some more modern misunderstandings of him.

Originally he was pretty quiet. Super popular in his school. Girls loved him and considered him a pretty boy. But in reality he has no social knowledge, because he was raised in basically a video game for two years. He's essentially an alien learning to fit in with human civilization. So he's incredibly reckless without intention. It takes him awhile to truly process the concept of death and related repercussions. So he's sort of dangerous.

He can be quite surly, and mean spirited on occasion. But like most heroes, he has a good heart that comes out in the end. It's just simply the 90s and being Anti-Authority is the norm. His name is Bart after all. Underneath that is a young man who does sweet things when he has it in him.

Just don't think of him like a baby like how a lot of people make him out to be. He's a teen's teen.

Original Bart, like original Tim, and original Cassie, to me, is the best version of the character. The most nuanced, and interesting.

Oh, and minor violent streak on Bart too. Started a fight before, and stuff like that.

He cares inside. That has to count for something right?

Kon-El:

Hot-Headed pervert. Over-confident. Fame hungry. Lady magnet. Stubborn. Head first. Sort of a prick. But again good hearted.

I haven't read him as much as the others, because I don't personally care for him. Then in the early 00s with Teen Titans they decided just to make him an angsty young Clark, which is personally boring.

I don't have a lot of great things to say about him. His solo is very dated, and overtly sexual. Something I have no interest in reading.

He's at his best in Young Justice though, where he isn't written as jail bait by a writer who thought it'd be great if he dated grown women to fulfill teenage boys dreams. Instead you get to have fun with a very flawed character without the distracting perversion...mostly.

Punk styled. Loves dressing like a punk. Until he doesn't. Ruh-roh.

Again though, different writers write different things. They catch onto different things more than others, some are plain neglectful, others don't care, some want to change stuff for the sake of it. It's comics, you'll be lucky if it's consistent.

But on my years of studies, all that is what the character's where intended to be by their creators. So a lot of it is a starting pad, but it's also the purest form of them you're going to find.

I immediately got travel for you, go on vacation especially to a place that's surrounded by water, lakes and springs in specific. The more I look at the card, the more I think of really serene vibes and places where you're soaked in the water by yourself just enjoying the atmosphere and the beauty around

Definitely go for any place where you can chill by yourself, cause I believe you need more silence and less noise and bustle. If you're in a relationship, or have someone very close to you, you can go together! But definitely aim for anything where you can just relax and think calmly.

Take walks early in the morning, sit by small ponds or lakes where you can just think to yourself. Unlike pile 1 where they needed to get out of their head, for you I keep hearing noises of others in my head to the point where I can't hear my own voice and thoughts, so you're asked to spend some time with yourself to find your voice and to just really relax away from everyone

If you take on traveling, you might meet some nice strangers though who'll make your vacation even better. If you've been around toxic co-workers and toxic people in general, you might meet people on your vacation that'll shift your perspective. If you're single, or say don't have friends to go to and trust, you might meet them there 🩷

This pile feels so young omg, like the majority and the energy is so heavy. Like 12-13 year olds, sixth to seventh grade. The energy is going through development, still growing, very tiny :(

Most of you guys seem to say yes to everything. I'm picking up this phase of life where you just have a friend group and you do everything together, you go to different places, do so many things. The phase where there's so much spark and fire, where you just wanna mix with people, where there's so much to life, and the energy is so nice and exciting!! (Adult me wishes I could be that again man)

Now issue is most of you are extroverts, or that you still don't know your own preferences so you go with everything and everyone, regardless of if you know them or not, and spirit is highlighting that this could be a bit dangerous if you go with the wrong people, or if you say yes to everything even if you don't want to.

Ppl will have constantly been posting about it and u will have constantly been seeing those posts and slowly making ur brain see all that disordered, dangerous behaviour as normal. Sm so that when u try to recover it'll end up being sm harder, becuz ur whole life, all ur believes, all ur habits, ur hobbies, will be base for sh and ed

Ik someone who was active on there from a young age and they struggle to eat normally sometimes, a normal meal feels like a binge to them and they don't actually know what the real definition of that word means, they count normal eating as eating too much, they count normal and healthy bodies as too fat becuz they saw so many dangerously underweight ppl that they can no longer tell what's healthy. They developed such bad body dysmorphia from all the content that they cannot tell the difference between over 10lbs on their body.

They can't understand why sh is bad sometimes, thinking it's not that big of a deal, they romantizise sh and their cuts, saying they like them and that they want more scars, even asking me to help them. They didn't realise it was a massive issue when they went pretty deep, and then refused to go seek medical help when they should've becuz they were used to giving themself cuts that could kill them, becuz ppl on shedtwt go so deep it could kill them but they barely ever seem to mention that, a young person wouldn't realise that would kill them, the person I'm talking about definitely didn't

They also saw lost of gore. Now I'm gonna get into a bit of physical brain psychology rn. So the brain releases dopamine as a positive reward hormone obviously. Watching gore, even tho it's online, will have the same or similar effect of seeing actual bloody, dead bodies and ppl stabbing themself or killing themself irl. They saw lots of that becuz shedtwt had sh vids which led to gore twt. Seeing ppl stab themselves, cut their arm off, jump off buildings etc, would be like seeing it irl. And seeing it irl would be classed as a traumatic event, it causes trauma. Specifically it damages the part of the brain that releases hormones like dopamine, by consuming that content u are physically damaging ur brain sm it can stop letting u feel happy.

This person may have a bad home life, and that may have caused these issues to start, but they wouldn't have known what sh was without shedtwt, or seen tips on how to go deeper on shedtwt

They wouldn't have seen starving tips or those diets, or workout routines without shedtwt

They wouldn't have felt like what they were doing was normal if they hadn't seen sm of it on shedtwt

They wouldn't have found gore without shedtwt

And they wouldn't have met their groomer and called him their bf if they hadn't been on shedtwt

Even now they're not on there, they lost all their hobbies to Ana/mia, they would spend their time doing nothing but watching and reading stuff about sh and eds and that's all their life was. Just cvtting themself, learning tips on how to starve and trying to ignore their cravings. They used to paint, but they stopped. they used to sew, but they stopped. they used to be really strong and have good health, they don't anymore, becuz they worked their body to exhaustion sm trying to get thin. Their brain consumed sm content, it's all they think about most of the time now and they struggle to distract their thoughts. I remember they told me what they were thinking about and I had to tell them they seemed triggered becuz they were so triggered so often it just became their normal mind. They thought about nothing but what to eat on what day, how many cals were in something, about how to cut deeper, where they should cut, how some of their scars would look prettier if they were in different shapes, suicide methods and what would be the best even tho they didn't have any plans. Images of thinspo and gore and sh would flash in their head constantly.

It became so normal to them it was their whole personality and actual normal things were alien concepts to them. I told them what typically normal things were and they were genuinely surprised at how what they did and thought about wasn't normal.

Ik most young ppl on there are wanting ppl to relate to but it will do more damage than good, sometimes it's better to feel like what ur doing is weird or not normal becuz that gives u more motivation to stop, to try and be normal. Seeing it sm will make u think it's normal and fine and make u feel like there's no issue

That person is still recovering and a lot of the stuff they vent about is the gore they saw, or the thinspo they saw, the things they say that get called out for being negative are always things they learnt to normalize from shedtwt

So pls, I say this to anyone but especially younger ppl like that 12 yr old, shedtwt / tblr is not gonna help u with ur mental health, it isn't a place that genuinely encourages recovery even if ppl say they are pro recovery. It's a place that glorifies sh and eds, and there's so many ppl who also just wanna take advantage of u. Someone who wants to help u starve or sh doesn't have ur best interest in mind, someone who wants u to recover and get better and healed is someone who cares about u

Guys, I really, really care about the use of agency in stories. Like, I've ranted about it in relation to droids, I've explained some of my problems with it in the context of the thematic changes between the OT and the PT, I stew over it constantly in my brain, it's a central theme of many of my own stories (including DLB).

I really don't like mind control, and not just in Star Wars.

Now, just because I don't like a thing doesn't mean it doesn't have a place in story telling. As a device, mind control/manipulation can be useful or important to a plot. To a theme. Overcoming it can be powerful or cool (Ella Enchanted-I prefer the novel personally, Tanjiro in Demon Slayer: Mugen Train), watching someone succumb to it can be agonizing (Frodo in Return of the King, anyone? Princess Euphemia in Code Geass?).

So, what is the point of Mind Tricks (and that naming choice, "trick," making it sound almost...harmless) in the Star Wars story, and maybe in the universe?

I feel like in its initial reveal, the mind trick was supposed to a) convey how "magical" Jedi were and b) get the plot from point A to B. Obi-Wan waves his hand, someone believes something hideously untrue, move along move along, don't think about it too hard.

Like, literally, audience, please. Don't.

Luke uses it in RotJ for pretty much the same reason. To convery a) Luke is well on his way to being a "magical" Jedi now (oh but wait, there's more character growth he needs!), and b) Luke needs to get into Jabba's palace and why would they let him in? Because he says so, so we will take him to Jabba now. Move along, move along.

I don't like the implications of this power existing, and as an adult who has been in situation where I have to report to higher powers, the disregard of the consequences of these things are a bit darker if I look too closely, but like...move along, I guess. It's fine as long as we're only using these powers on space nazis and slavers. Right?

Except then we get more movies. And cartoons. It's fine if Obi-Wan mind controls a person into not smoking, right? Smoking is Bad and Obi-Wan is Good.

So like, Qui-Gon Jinn. Qui-Gon "I'm friends with the current Chancellor and thus an obvious, notable representative of the Jedi Order but I don't get along with my higher ups" Jinn. The thing you have to understand about my opinion of him is that, as a young, first time watcher of TPM, I liked him. He was funny, irreverent, direct. He was wise, or at least seemed to know things no one else did. He was a maverick, ready to go against all orders and advice for what he knew was right. And everyone around him was just stuffy and uninformed.

And to be fair, he wasn't wrong about everything. He's set up to be sympathetic. He's trying to treat with the gungans and they won't listen? Well he and Obi-Wan are right, the Trade Federation does go for the gungans. The Order says there are no Sith? Oops, wrong on that one. The Council makes the ambiguous assertion Anakin is "too old" to train. We've seen the OT. We know "too old" is nonsense.

But like, what does Qui-Gon do when he's thwarted?

He takes away people's agency.

Oh, you don't want to help us, Boss Nass, political leader? Cool, well I'm gonna undermine you in front of your entire court and you're gonna give us a whole ship (that we won't return) to help us defend a people you've been in an active war with for centuries. Oh, my currency doesn't work on this planet? I think it will mister small time junk dealer with a gambling problem (jokes on you for that one, sir).

This to me is a huge red flag in a story that is about literal slaves. I know people will defend the above examples. It was necessary. There were lives at stake.

Having daisy constantly shit on eddie and billy over muse’s age gives me life cause its what i’ve been saying since my first rants on eddie and billy. Muse was quite literally too young to be getting caught up in the bermuda triangle personified that is billy and eddie. Any responsible adult would’ve said so, but the fact that they brushed over it so often and it did so much damage in the long run. Also, where’s teddy in all of this, what are teddy’s thoughts on the whole billy/muse/eddie mess. I wanna know what teddy thinks about this, does he ever talk about with billy? What does billy say if teddy does talk about it? I know it’d hit billy hard, like canonically, teddy is the only opinion billy actually gives two fucks about.

anyways yes yes let's talk about teddy!! he's definitely the concerned father figure especially bc muses father doesn't seem to really care how toxic this is for her. yeah, she's an adult, but the outlook is so focused in letting her be young and make a name for herself that he doesn't realize it's tearing her apart. but teddy does, and he also knows it's tearing billy apart, but damn does it make some good fucking songs and add to his performances. But, at end of the day it's not gonna keep being good records if this and the addiction tears the band apart as well. So he definitely has talks with Billy. Some about how if being with muse at this point in time is going to lead to so many breakdowns then he should pick between focusing on the band or the relationship for a period of time. Billy does take that to heart and it's the only time he's in a calm mood and breaks it off with muse, citing that he needs to focus on his work, and they're bad for each other, which obviously breaks her (someone remind me to write that out in a different post) but all he does during that time is fuck more groupies, do more drugs, write sad songs about missing her, and love songs about loving her, and want to real thing rather than his memories. So, he gives up after less than two weeks of the split. And Teddy realizes being apart doesn't make it any better, but that doesn't mean he's fully okay with it. I think at some point there's just a realization that the band is gonna fall apart and getting better is the only think that could make it start again. It's basically just Teddy being forced to watch a slow train crash and burn. Also Teddy definitely has talked with Billy about how he can't be actively saying and doing things that encourage the public to slander muse, in the long run not only is it bad for him and the band's image, but muse is a popular songwriter for other artists to get their songs from, so Billy is making enemies in the music world amongst her artist friends.

Yes, Daisy is just tearing into Billy, all, "You took her virginity and go around fucking any girl you please, and then have the fucking nerve to call her the slut! You're out of your goddamn mind, Billy, when she's only ever been with you."

For some reason I've been thinking about how much Mick really smoked, and like when he actually started..

Like it must've been pretty young right? I'm just imagining kitty!Mick and Sharon going over to Mick's parents house for dinner and Mick is like weirdly irritable/fidgety cause he can't smoke infront of his parents/doesn't wanna get scolded. Maybe Sharon is petting him to try and calm him down, giving him a distraction from the cravings. Perchance he also starts aggressively coughing, then again I've never actually seen him cough...but we do see him get fidgety!

oomfie believe it or not i sometimes think about this to! like, especially when im watching an old concert and i suddenly see this man with a cigarette in his mouth like… omg my mans was a chain smoker frfr!! he’s so funny cause… you can’t wait an hour-two hours to have a smoke break?? i don’t know if we’ll ever know how much he smoked on the daily (if i had to guess maybe one or two packs a day??)

i also think he was probably pretty young when he started smoking… maybe late teens to early twenties?? even so, maybe his family didn’t even know he was a smoker, so he has even more reason to hide it from them and not smoke around them (because if he did, we all know they’d tell him to stop). too bad the nicotine withdrawals are heavy duty. he’s got the airplane ears locked in the entire time, and no matter how much sharon tries to pet him and calm him down, he can’t stop fidgeting. he’d literally have to talk himself out of bringing his pack of cigarettes with him. on the drive to his parents house, he still can’t keep still and sharon is trying to tell him to quit smoking. mick is still very tense and he’s giving her very short and terse answers. (he’s the king of “i can quit anytime i want to!”)

even when they’re at his parents house, he’s still very fidgety and he’s trying to be polite but literally every single thing is annoying him for some reason. his leg can’t stop bouncing and he can’t stop playing with his hands. maybe his mom notices and asks him what’s wrong and now he has to play it off like he’s just a bit spacey and that he’s fine. still, they can see his airplane ears and his tail flicking around impatiently like he’s waiting for something (to go home and smoke a nice little cigarette). whether they address it or not is another story, right now mick just has to get through that dinner without any other issues. sharons just discreetly stroking the back of his head and rubbing his arm to comfort and distract him, and then he just starts coughing. you know the type, the very stereotypical smokers cough. it goes on for a while, and maybe he tries getting up from the table to go nearly choke somewhere else, but luckily it stops and he kinda has to recover while everyone’s looking at him like “what kinda flu do you have?” he plays it off like he just has a bad cough and they continue their dinner.

of course by the end of the day he’d be racing back home to retrieve his glorious pack of cigarettes while trying to forget the day he’d just had.

the poor cat going through nicotine withdrawals… how easy it would be to make him go into airplane ear mode cause of how fidgety and on edge he’d be. i have noticed how fidgety he’d get sometimes in interviews… wonder if that was him thinking about getting a smoke break in lmaooo. also im sure ive heard him cough like…once. he didn’t seem to cough much though… so that’s a smoking symptom he seemed to bypass. still, the man was definitely a chainsmoker so… there’s that! these are still relatively normal things to ponder about oomfie!! I realized WMLP Dick’s position in that army unit is similar to his early experience with the team. He’s the youngest has a lot of experience and skills his squad mates don’t, among peers for the first time in a while, hiding his true identity, gets pushed out of his comfort zone by the people he was with. Expect this time is was true war. And he came away without bonding with his team and looking down on them. Would this experience effect how he views his memories of The Team?

It would definitely make him remember how unprepared they were for That Whole Situation, just thrown into missions having never worked together except for the Cadmus mission which ended with an exploded building like. Bruh. I know they weren't giving the league many options but also what the fUCK guys y'all just sent them off on their merry way like that. The fact they didn't die in episode three is a miracle.

But then also he's so aware of the difference between working with people who are fighting because they're genuinely good people with a desire to help others, as opposed to... Well. People who wanna shoot guns, had no other options, want the military to pay off their degree, et cetera et cetera so on so forth. Like this team is so different to his old one it's almost distracting. It's almost problematic. It's almost enough to snap Dick out of the constant unrelenting need to do as he's told and question Slade because 'uh hey yeah what the fUCK is up with these people'

Dick has to force a level of indifference between himself and his new team because if he doesn't he can't focus on the task at hand. He can't help but think about the fact that these people should not be running around armed with thousands of lives in their hands.

It doesn't help that they're all unaware of half of the shit that goes down in the world. Even Dick's superiors have only the smallest understandings of figures like Count Vertigo and Gorilla Grod and none of them have any idea who Vandal Savage is. Queen Bee? Uh you mean the dictator of that small kick of desert in the middle east?

Oh my god. I didn't even consider that if Bialya and Qurac are middle eastern countries they're surprisingly close by during the wars of the early 2000s. Like I've hand waved and said 'yeah going off timeline Dick probably got sent around the middle east' but completely failed to realise he might have even been in Bialya or Qurac for missions.

I wonder how those countries engaged with wars in the area in lore. It's apparently north of Saudi Arabia and Iran in wider DC lore? But YJ isn't specific?

If I continue to use Australia as the example (which I suppose I should cause I've essentially canonized it in the fic at this point), Australia was only particularly involved with Afghanistan and Yemen I believe, but I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge.

Bialya and Qurac could, possibly, border operations in Afghanistan. Young justice lore states that Bialya is a part of the UN and therefore may not be particularly open to military operations but very well could have housed a few bases on the borders.

Jesus. Getting this into the lore of YJ feels so strange and I'm honestly not sure if it's inappropriate or not. I could believe Queen Bee being involved with the war on terror, whether it's a part of Savage's plans or not, just because she enjoys conflict. Moreover it helps with the anti-Quraci thing she has going. From what I can tell of the show, Qurac seems to be a majority Islamic country? So I could see her manipulating the image of things to benefit her attempts to take back Qurac.

Phantomfam headcanons for the soul? If u have any and wanna share ofc

This is more of a dadbastian headcanon, but I want to share :) I think early on in their contract Ciel would abuse his new found freedom and stay up really late, and at first Sebastian would be like "whatever you're the lord" and not really care because he didn't understand that little ten year old babies need to go to bed at a reasonable hour. So I think he would walk in on an extremely cranky little master at like 1:00 am and have to carry him to bed because he's too tired to walk. Seb would be super confused when he tried to get him up in the morning and be met with a death glare and an even grumpier than usual master throughout the day. Seb eventually realized he can't let him do that and has since set a strict bed time for his master, Ciel's also a sleepy guy so I think he grew out of this habit real quick. Honestly now that I think about it this was most definitely inspired by Coattails-I am not original :/ Also I'm not someone who thinks dadbastian is canon cause we all know Seb's a bastard and Ciel hates that bitch, but lets be real these two have father son moments in canon whether they like it or not. Like even if Seb doesn't feel parental towards Ciel, he's still a papa just a shitty one lol

I think Tanaka is happy that he can kind of take a back seat now and let Sebastian take the wheel, he thinks his young master is in good hands (oh how wrong he is😫!) and the manor is being taken care of, so he's chilling. Basically all of his friends/people he knew closely died in the manor massacre, so I think that's one of the reasons he seems so checked all of the time. Don't get me wrong he loves the others, but he's at an age where he just doesn't give a fuck anymore and has been through some shit so now he's taking it easy, as he should. I lowkey think he also might be smoking hella opium all the time so y'know good for him. Poor guy had to come down from a legendary high when R!Ciel came back so he could be a proper butler again.

I think Finny sees Ciel in a different light since the Green Witch arc and probably worries about him a lot more, he doesn't see him as his infallible master that always knows what to do in every situation as much, I think he's starting to see Ciel as the child he is and feels an even stronger and different sort of need to protect him that goes beyond loyalty and is more big brotherish now. (Also I have this theory that Finny's gonna be the one to figure out what Seb is first, and it leads to his death, but that's another thing.) I might have seen people say something similar to this again I am not original.

Lincoln is so happy to be a dad since he lost his own family, and can be very over protective at times but that doesn't really show up until she's in her pre-teens and onward. Like I said in the last post, John was just happy he could keep this one, it takes a lot of adjusting to this new life, he still does what he normally does but cause he's at Sammy's all the time, he spends the most time with Dani before she eventually goes to school.

He's definitely more in charge with dressing her and had to learn how to do her hair, which was awkward at first with the whole situation. He may not be an ideal parent but he definitely loves and cares for her a lot. Just is pretty loose with swear words in front of her.

Since she does get into things a lot, she has to be kept away from loose papers and any potentially dangerous things laying around. She has ruined the vibe of a meeting at Sammy's where Lincoln invited his underbosses in the bar. Donovan, still keeping out of their line of sight, has quickly snatched Dani away from the bar area and took her back to the living space, but thats how the underbosses saw Lincoln's kid for the first time. Father James comes around more often just to check up on the kid and sometimes comes at Lincoln's request. He tries to keep his mouth shut about his opinions on Donovan's parenting, but Lincoln knows exactly what he's thinking.

Because John is still, well, John, he does complain a lot and projects his own distaste of things onto Dani, like hating the weather, going into the swamps, hating hippies, etc. Dani handles the weather pretty well like Lincoln, and as for hippies, Lincoln's taken her to LaVeau's compound where she interacted with M.J and his friends, so she ends up liking being around people like that, she came home with a flower crown and Lincoln had to answer a lot of questions. When it comes to swamps, once Dani's a teenager she eventually goes out into the Bayou Fantom a lot with her friends. Lincoln also took her to gator feedings before and she loves them.

She does eventually meet Marshall and Jackie when she's young. Marshall gives John a hard time a lot, occasionally saying some off color things about John as a "joke", and once Dani can talk, she'll even say "MY DAD IS NOT A MOM >:O" which surprised Marshall but he stops those kind of jokes for now. As for Jackie, despite her and John not being that close, since she does know his history and keeps tabs on Jesse, she's just happy to see things seemed to have worked out.

During all this, in between taking care of Dani, John was still working on his side project and was zeroing in on someone that was actually nearby. He was still fixated on the JFK conspiracy, and from old papers he found linking the Marcano's to local politicians, he started setting up a meeting to go to Baton Rouge, since many folks where still talking about Lincoln's crime spree and how he seemed to be untouched by the law for now. It was big news, and John was pulling some strings to go to a hearing on "Lincoln Clay's behalf". August 25th, 1971, Donovan went to a senate hearing about Lincoln's crime spree and meeting face to face with Senator Blake. Everything was recorded live. Everything. Danielle was nearly 2 years old at this time. The aftermath lead to John leaving the state and hiding for a few months away from the authorities and eventually they lost his scent after a few months

Of course, a serious crime such as assassinating a state senator will mean he's never NOT safe, but after a few months skipping around in different states, changing out cars and his appearance, he did eventually finally get back to New Bordeaux, after leaving Lincoln and Dani on their own for a few months, he missed her 2nd birthday and Lincoln swore he was about to punch him as soon as he got back, but he couldn't. He just got really emotional and made fun of John for having a more unkempt appearance.

In a way, as the new crime lord of New Bordeaux, and making sure the right people stay paid, Lincoln is basically untouchable, sure he has enemies, but law enforcement is in his pocket, he's got people to take care of things, etc. Sammy's becomes somewhat of a safe haven. Donovan can chill out there and not really worry about getting caught for his Live TV stunt, and he content with just leaving it there to make the people he's targeting paranoid. Not sure how he feels about being stuck in New Bordeaux though, but it's a good setup for now. Being around Lincoln means guaranteed immunity, also of course, happy to be near his kid again. Because Lincoln got emotional, Dani needed to be babysat for awhile (probably by Nicki cause she's trusted), and he really wanted to see if somehow he can use John being trans as some kind of loophole so they can legally tie the knot, he's sure he can talk to and bribe the right people but John isn't sure how he feels about it just yet, he just knows Lincoln's very clingy right now and lets him get his feelings out, ofc he missed him too.

Once again, yes I'm planning on adding more. Also I just wanna say, while I love this ship, the only thing that REALLY sucks about it is the age gap. They're both adults that seem to be on equal ground, but despite not revealing John's age, he has to be at most 35, which makes him about 12 years older than Lincoln. Which is eeehhhh....ehhhh.... really clinging on the fact they're both grown and seem to look at each other as equals. So whatever.

SnK fic time! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love All Around

Reiner stared out of the window, keeping an eye on his no longer so little cousin and her new but long-time coming boyfriend. Not like it was necessary; they were good kids and he knew that, but he had nothing better to do despite it being Valentine’s Day. He was all alone, so all he could do was appreciate the fact that not everyone he cared about were as lonely.

Even if it did make him a bit jealous.

It was a new feeling for him. Not jealousy in itself; he had had plenty of that as a warrior cadet, but jealousy of love was new. As a child, he naturally hadn’t been interested in such things, and by the time he was old enough to be, he was already a warrior, destined, or so he thought at the time, to die young, so he’d been determined to not think of such things. The closest he’d gotten to slipping from that determination was his little crush on Kris- Historia, but that had been a part of his cover, just an act, really.

But now he was old enough for these things and knew that he was no longer doomed to die young, not automatically at least, so it was only natural that he was interested, wasn’t it? The problem was that, after all this time, he had no idea how to proceed or what to do.

Reiner lets out a sigh before turning away from the window, jumping a little in startled surprise when he notices Connie right beside him, also looking out the window.

“Damn it Connie, you almost gave me a heart attack!” he says, scowling at the younger man. Connie turns to him, his face blank as he says: “Didn’t know you had a heart.”

“…”

“…”

Well, Reiner knew he couldn’t blame Connie for that one, not after everything he had do-

“Gee man, it was a joke! Relax!” Connie interrupts his thoughts, hitting Reiner’s arm with his fist. It’s not a real punch, not by army standards, but he can definitely feel it. Laughing, Connie says: “You weren’t that serious back in the day, you know. You grew old!”

“Did not” Reiner says, with no real ire in his tone, hoping that his relief didn’t shine through. He was in good terms with Connie and the rest now, had been since their battle against Eren, but at times, he still felt doubt, and quilt even more so.

Wanting not to dwell on that, he said: “I just matured, unlike you.”

“Maturity is overrated” Connie counters with a wave of his hand, glancing out the window “But you don’t seem to be the only one. Those two are a thing now, right?”

“Yeah… kids grow up so fast.”

“You sound like an old man” Connie says with a laugh “Wanna go see if Jean’s up for a game of cards?”

“Sure”

They left Reiner’s room on the second floor and went down the somewhat creaky stairs. The first room at the end of those was an office, which was officially Onyankopon’s but was used by Armin way more, and something seen from its open doorway made Connie stop in his tracks as he was about walk past it, almost causing absent minded Reiner to crash in to him.

“What are-?”

“Shh!” Connie quickly shushes the blond, pushing him away from the doorway, out of sight, before peering in. Curious and slightly wary, Reiner does so too, spotting Armin sitting in an armchair in front of the massive bookshelf he loved so much, an open book in his hands but clearly forgotten. Just a step away was standing Annie, face as red as the ribbon on the present she was holding out for Armin to take.

“Um, what is that?”

“It’s a present” Annie answers, and Reiner quickly brings a hand to his mouth to muffle his laugh, noticing Connie doing the same. Armin blushes.

“I noticed that. I meant what for?”

Annie stares at him, like she couldn’t believe he didn’t know, and Reiner realizes just as she does, he can tell from the widening of her eyes, that Valentine’s Day wasn’t a thing on Paradis.

Rubbing his freshly shaven chin, Reiner loos forward to seeing how Annie would handle this. Would she blush and stutter? That didn’t sound very Annie like, but with how she was acting now…

Annie cleared her throat, and Reiner had to struggle to not snort out loud and give them away.

“Well, in Marley, and in some other parts of the world, in February 14th, which is today, we have a day called Valentine’s Day, when people give presents to their… um…” Annie’s face went even redder, and a pink tint started to rise to Armin’s cheeks as well as he caught on, smart as he was.

“Oh, I think I’ve heard of it from a war prisoner we had” he says, coughing, but Reiner could tell it was fake. Armin reaches out his hands to take the present “Thank you… and, um, sorry I don’t have anything for you.”

Annie brushes a strand of her hair behind her ear just to have something to do with her hands instead of just fiddling with them awkwardly.

“That’s alright; it’s not why I… um…”

Reiner presses his hand tightly against his mouth, muffling his laughter. If anyone would’ve told him when he was a child, or even just a few years back, that he’d one day see Annie be a blushing, stuttering mess in from of a man, he would’ve laughed it off with a wave of his hand, and yet, here they were. Life was full of surprises, it seems.

Out of nowhere, there’s a whistle, and it takes Reiner a moment to realize it came from Connie. By the time he does, Annie and Armin’s heads have already whirled to their direction, their eyes locked at the doorway.

“Aaw, you guys are so cute!” Connie coos. Reiner doesn’t exactly disagree, but he’s smart enough to keep his mouth shut, helped immensely by Annie’s narrowing eyes as her dagger like glare hits them.

“Get out!” she hisses, face still red from the earlier embarrassment, or perhaps from being seen by them, Reiner can’t tell the difference. He doesn’t use much time to wonder about it, either, instead grabbing Connie by the collar and hurriedly jogging off, away from Annie’s wrath. They sneak in to the kitchen, closing the door behind them just to be safe, before looking at each other before bursting out in to laughter.

“Dude, did you see their faces?” Connie manages to say from among his laughter “Totally worth getting caught!”

Thinking of the pair’s startled expressions, Reiner can’t help but agree. Still, he hoped that if Annie wanted to kick some ass for this, she’d target Connie because he was the one whistling… but he was probably having too high hopes there.

“I think I’m a little jealous” Connie says out of the blue, getting a disbelieving look from Reiner. Understanding it’s meaning, the shorter man glares “Not about Annie- no offense to her of course, but c’mon, it’s Annie! I meant about having someone in general.”

Okay, Reiner thinks, that made much more sense.

“I think I can relate” he says, briefly wondering if Connie would be saying the same thing if Sasha was still around, but forcing the thought out of his mind. She was gone, unfortunately, and that was that. “But if she’d be here, I’d at the very least still have Jean to hang out with on days like these; he probably hasn’t gotten over his hopeless love for Mikasa.”

“Bet Jean can too, so let’s just find the Horseface and have him join us in our miserable little club of loners.” Connie says, pulling a deck of cards from his pocket “After that, we’ll be all set.”

Reiner nodded, thinking where the man might be. Usually, around this time of the day, he could be found from the office, discussing whatever had been on the newspaper with Pieck and Armin, but the duo hadn’t been there, so they’d probably finished for the day. In that case, Jean was either out for a walk, or killing time in the living room by reading some cheap romance novel, which the man insisted was “studying the outside world culture”, before he’d have to leave for his part time job. Not that any of them would’ve needed those; being considered heroes had its benefits, but most of them had gotten jobs just to have some kind of routine in their life. The only ones without one were captain Levi, retired with all his injuries, and Armin, keeping himself busy by learning whatever he could about the world by constant visits to the libraries around and just going out and talking to people.

“He’s probably in the living room, parked in that worn out, old arm chair that he likes so much” Reiner says, and Connie snorts.

“Could be; that thing is basically his throne by now.”

They head to the living room, and sure enough, Jean is right where they expected, sunken in to the soft, wine red fabric the chair is veiled with, a book in his hands. But what they didn’t expect was that he wasn’t alone; right there, squeezed in to the same chair, body pressed against Jean was Pieck, head leaning against the man’s shoulder as her eyes skimmed the same pages as his did. On her lap was an open box of chocolates that she occasionally picked a piece from, putting it either in her own or Jean’s mouth, never taking her eyes off the book. And neither did Jean, who simply opened his mouth when he saw the treat coming.

Connie and Reiner stare, blankly, before the later mouths “since when?” to the former, who just shrugs, just as clueless as the blond. He didn’t bother making their presence known, thinking that these two probably wouldn’t be bothered by their teasing the way Armin and Annie were, so it wouldn’t be fun.

Either way, it was clear that Jean didn’t fit in to this little club of theirs.

I know that I've already said this many times now.. Black Lagoon is definitely one of my favorite series in every way. It is a complex series with well written story, well written characters, memorable music. I'd say there isn't anything a single thing I hate about it at all. I enjoy how it pushes boundaries for people in any ways that is considered good and bad for them.

For the original series, there are twelve volumes but the newest volume comes out in the winter. So that will be thirteen novels soon. I believe that there are two short stories that I know of - those stories have also mainly revolved around the female characters.. Which is no surprise. And the two spinoff series, for Eda and Sawyer (which have a fair share of novels).

Li Xinlin is a Chinese character that gets introduced in the next arc. But she, unlike certain characters, is willing to have help in her situation. Because of how similar her personality is to Rock's, they get along a lot during their time together. So Rock doesn't even become dark in that arc. That is all I'll say about it.

That's why I have mixed feelings about Rock as this character. I respect that he would do anything he is able to when helping people. Because he's trying all the time, saying and doing what he can for people - if they allow him to help. But people like Balalaika or Chang manipulating is causing him to become very similar to them. Even though Revy doesn't admit it.. She does want a normal life, as normal a life for her that she can have. Like you saw yourself. You know nothing about her mother, her father was always so abusive. That abusive situation that you saw, she is only a fourteen year old girl in that moment in time. She dropped out of school at a young age so she is not properly educated. And was in prison for some time before she escape, so she's a convicted felon. The woman has a dark life. So if Rock can't save her now, then I don't who would be able to help her.

But then there's Rock being a hypocrite. I might be able to tolerant small hypocrises.. Okay. That's a lie. I can't tolerant hypocrites. Sometimes I'm one. And I try not to be a hypocrite if I can help it, but I'm not on that level of hypocrisy at all. Rock preaches that he has his morals while also manipulating people to do things that he won't do, and then complain that they are doing those things. There are times when I want to hit Rock over those situations. And I know, I know. He's a fictional character. But still.

Yes! Those are the two main reasons why Roberta's Blood Trail was an ova season. Because of Rei Hiroe not wanting he work being censored, he just never wants his work watered down. Which I am so happy for. And because there wasn't even enough story to make a whole season, like the first two seasons.

The ending for that season was different.

In the ending to the "Roberta's Blood Trail" OVA, there are differences on how Roberta survived the fight. In both versions, she survives, but there are a few differences:

In the manga, she survived without sustaining any major injury.

In the anime, she suffers significant wounds throughout the final battle as she ultimately lost her left arm, right leg, two fingers, her right eye and she was also confined to a wheelchair, but this seems to be temporary when she recovered as she is seen rising from the chair at the end of the OVA.

Who knows if you'll feel differently when you do end up reading the manga, when you read the manga.

That's why fans were hoping a new season was now on the way. Because of the promotional video I sent you. But nothing else was ever mentioned after that though, so who knows will might happen now.

Another thought that came to mind. Personally, I'm not a fan of live action adaptions to from anime and manga series. Because those adaptions never live up to my expectations at all. That's just my opinion. But is it weird that I kinda wanna make a post of the celebrities I imagine as the Black Lagoon cast, like my fancast, if the series was ever a live adaption. Not that anyone I would pick for these characters would ever be used, but just based on my opinion.

And yes. For the person who mentioned it, I know people can read manga online. That is where I have usually read my manga if I'm not able to buy manga in that moment. The site I used was removed so I'm needing to search for a new site to read manga now.

yes! black lagoon definitely pushes boundaries for people and i can see that it may not be for everyone. but i personally enjoyed it a lot and i love how much work was put into creating the female cast (balalaika easily made it into one of my favorite characters). honestly i haven't watch a series with good female characters that i haven't fallen in love with. i've also started reading the manga and binged up to roberta's arc (not yet to when she started fighting). i like how faithful the anime adapation was for the most part. i'm very excited to reach the arcs that the anime hasn't gotten up to yet and meet the new characters!

i agree that rock is probably the best and only person that might be able to pull revy out of her dark life. she went through so much as a child and her mindset is that only violence and murder will allow her to survive in her messed up world. i really would like to see her live a more peaceful life. it's really up to how rock develops as a character though, which will be interesting to see. i can't tell if revy will be willing to watch him fall to the dark side though, or if she will actually carry out her threat to kill him before that happens. their relationship is so complicated

personally i'm okay with live action adaptations! it's not something that i Absolutely Need, usually i don't care too much for them unless it's a series that i'm really into, but i do enjoy seeing how they bring these characters to life. i would love to see a live action black lagoon cast though, especially with how diverse it is!! (also seeing those female characters in real life will be heaven for me). do you already have people in mind for a fancast?
