Some doodles based on a little blurb I wrote after suddenly waking up at like 6:30, then passing out again like immediately after lol. In Good Ending Leo shows up to the past in REAL bad shape thanks to his side wound and the fact that he was a hair away from being hit by a fucking LASER BEAM. Add in the painkillers they put him on and bro is fading in and out of conciousness a couple of times before he gets to the point he can actually wake up for real. This is one of those times :]

Okokokokok- ignore how rough and messy some of these redraws/sketches are - but it's apparently also dinosaur month?? (WHY did no one ever tell me it's Jurassic June? I love dinosaurs) And like. What if Rise but dinosaurs?!

I don't often post such loose sketches but I wanted to show these off cause I really like some of this.

Design choices and dino species + the reasons I picked them bellow (looking for potential Donnie dino suggestions):

Clothes: Without the shell they really need clothes. They'd all have pretty much the same pants to keep some unity, except maybe Mikey (I decided they should all have the same pants after I finished the Mikey sketches, not sure if I'll keep the shorts or change to pants). Accessories are a mix of pre and post finale.

Raph - I think would keep it simple and practical but would also wear nice jackets and stuff when in casual situations. I need to work on giving him an alternative outfit and tweak his accessories a bit.

Donnie - An oversized pull-over hoodie cause we already know he loves that shit. We see him wearing it all the time. Easy enough. He wears a comfortable singlet underneath so the straps of his battle sail don't rub. Nice soft fabric, tight fit so it doesn't move around, tucks it into his pants, etc. When he wears the battle sail he won't overheat so he can wear hoodies basically all year round.

Leo - He's in one of those shirts with obnoxiously large arm holes and make it cropped cause 1. I think he would 2. I want it to be different from Raph and Donnie's singlets. He usually wears the shoulder strap off his shoulder but pulls it up when he needs to. He has some of the black bandages over his mid drift atm but I might just make his pants super high waisted in the final version. He'd probably wear a bomber jacket (also cropped?) over the top for cool weather, but doesn't like to hide his feathers.

Mikey - I think he'd mostly wear hand me downs when he's younger. He definitely goes through a stage of rebelling and wanting to pick his own and would find a middle ground of appreciating sharing some of his brother's clothes and modifying them, as long as he has the choice of his own available. Not sure if that would be before or after this design. At the moment he's got Raph's old shorts (from a loooong time ago), Leo's old shirt, and Donnie's old zip up hoodie. He does have his own accessories though, including pins instead of stickers.

Dinosaurs: I kept them all as non-avian dinosaurs, AKA not including animals that are colloquially considered dinos but aren't (like pterosaurs). I wanted to keep an even split of herbivore vs carnivore just so one wasn't the odd one out. I wanted to keep most of their body structure, colours and distinguishing features the same as canon. Obviously I added tails cause, yeah, of course haha. I did want them to be recognisable as different species of dino using distinct characteristics that their species is known for. I did ignore a lot of differences though, like size and bipedal vs quadruped (although the quadrupeds might be more likely to go to all fours, especially when fighting or afraid). Leo and Donnie are carnivores so have sharper teeth and claws.

Raph - Some kind of Ceratopsian (likely Triceratops or something very similar) and he was the first idea I had for this and I'm really happy with it. I think it just suits him. Trike Raph just came to me in an unprecedented moment of genius. His spikey frill replicates his spikey shell. His sturdiness, protectiveness and willingness to kick ass when needed, all scream trike to me.

Donnie - Spinosaurus but looking for other species recommendations. More details below: So I wanted to figure out a way for him to have tech with a similar function to his battle shell (in the sense that it's something that helped him in day to day life) and so I went with spino cause one possible theory about a function of spinosaurus' sail is temperature regulation. So his battle sail has heating/cooling systems as well as other tech. A spino's sail was probably not fragile but the battle sail would also help protect it from being targeted during fights or crushed during extreme impacts. It was also thought to be used for display, and what's more of a display than a battle sail? The only problem I have with this is that it's lacking part of what makes Donnie's battle shell so great, which is that it is essentially a prosthetic. Not quite the same as how prosthetics are used in people of course, just in the sense that it is replicating the functionality of a body part that he doesn't have (I can't think of a better word). Well he does have a shell but it doesn't function in the same way that his brothers shells do, which leaves him with less defense than they have, hence a big reason for the battle shell (I hope I explained this well, it was hard to try and word properly). I can't think of a good way to do this with dinos. I was thinking of a carno or something with tiny arms, then Donnie could have tech enhanced arms but I'm pretty much ignoring body structure in the others so it would be weird to have just Donnie be affected by a difference in limb structure/functionality. I was thinking prosthetic tail but every non avian dinosaur had a pretty substantial tail. Except therizinosaurus but even they hade pretty obvious tails. I'm open to suggestions for this one if anyone has ideas. It does have to be an extinct non-avian dinosaur (anything not in Avialae), preferably carnivore but if someone suggests a really good herbivore or omnivore then I can try and swap Mikey for a carnivore. I want there to be an even split. I also wanted to give him something different on his face, like his brothers, and that could only be a little spino crest and it crowds the top of his head but I can't put it anywhere else...

Leo - A type of Dromaeosaur. I was tossing up between this and a dilophosaur where his red stripes were part of the dilo's crest, cause I wasn't sure about giving him feathers. But dilo Leo was so plain compared to the rest and the crests were hard to get looking right so I went back to raptor Leo. I can definitely imagine him literally and metaphorically preening his feathers too. You can't really see it but he does also have that big raptor claw. Raptors were smart, tactical and worked in packs so I think that suits him. I wasn't specifically referencing how some artists draw Leo's stripes coming off his face (I was just trying to replicate his stripes somehow, even though it doesn't make a huge amount of sense) but I realised afterwards that it kinda looks like that and might have been subconsciously inspired by it.

Mikey - Is an Ankylosaur. I'm pretty happy with the species but I need to work out the design of his armour plating so that it looks interesting, cool and protective but isn't too chunky, too pointy or super lumpy looking. I went with an anky cause Mikey is often hiding in his shell and he can't do the same here but he could curl up in a defensive ball. Plus I could imagine him using his tail club in his razzmatazz fighting style. A little like his kusari-fundo or nunchacku/nunchucks (not sure on proper wording).

But what's Casey using to cloak himself?

From what we see in the show, cloaking brooches are normally activated by touch but can be turned on/off without it (eg. big mama's hotel staff). This makes it pretty hard to tell what it is, and normally when theorizing about something like this, you need to go through and reread EVERYTHING but I'm too lazy for that so lets assume I actually did. Firstly lets get the mask and hockey stick out of the way, because he doesn't even have those on him afterward Draxum gave him the cloaking "pin". He doesn't actually seem to have anything that could be identified as a brooch or pin as far as we can tell in the first few panels of the "Commander O'Neil arc", which narrows it down from anything that could be blatantly obvious. He could, however, be hiding it somewhere on his body (chest, shin, shoulder, or boots are most likely in order) There's also the chance of the magic just being infused into him because Draxum is Draxum and magic shenanigan's, which could mean this search is futile and I'm just ranting about useless sh*t. Anyways, since Casey usually has one or two outfits per arc, weather it be different from the previous or not, I'm gonna compile all the first (good) shots of him here somewhat in order (from after the turt casey saga):

The images above seem to be his more casual outfit worn around the base, with short sleeves and long, loose pants tucked into what looks like boots and/or ankle wraps (similar to what Raph has on his arms in the show).

The classic battle/outdoor outfit that we see him wear in the movie, consisting of armor that vaguely resembles a turtle on his chest, a cape that goes over his shoulders and covers his neck as well as the top of his torso, pants with kneepads, shoes akin to sneakers, possible arm wraps that go under the gloves, the cool ass mask, and his hockey stick.

back into the shirt and pants when in the past lair, but is in a different shirt as there is no longer a rip on the left sleeve. He isn't wearing any shoes, scratching the boots/shoes theory, as well as his pants going up past his ankles and almost past his shins, meaning it's probably not there either.

going onto the surface, Casey wears a hoodie supposedly on top of the shirt and pants he wears around the lair, gathering his stick and mask to go with it. He is also seen wearing this hood in the lair on part 10 of "You are in the past, your thoughts are in the future".

The shirt and pants are definitely his lair outfit at this point, the photo above is from "Donatello".

the hoodie returns for a magic spell, only to be replaced with the free Hamato possesion make over

This lovely upgrade keeps his hoodie, but he now has a design similar to the Hamato outfits for the turtles in the episode "Insane in the Mama Train", with wraps on his arms, legs, and around his waist. Donnie's logo now sits on his heart (awww), and he looks pretty damn cool. I wasn't sure if he had socks or shoes on, but looking at that piece of fanart on Cass' page, it's shoes. There is a symbol on his back, possibly being that of the Hamato clan (hard to tell though, as it looks more like some kind of wheel in most panels you can see it)

The turtle version seems to be pretty much the same, the only difference being the wraps changing for his now 3 fingered hands and 3 toed feet, as well as the hoodie likely becoming a bit looser/bigger to better fit his shell. A little something I noticed about the transformation scene is that it starts from his ankles/shins/feet, which is cool and all for the posing, but is a bit controversial because it is, in fact, not in any of those areas. IN CONCLUSION,

The brooch (if there is one) is not on his arms due to him wearing short sleeves around the lair, it is not put in his shoes, and it does not need to be activated by touch. It is not anywhere near his feet, as there isn't anything we can see despite the transformation thingies coming from that general area. If we take the previous sentence into account, it is not on his chest either, crossing out pretty much all of the options we have. The last thing I can think of is Draxum somehow just... injecting the stuff into him as a controllable power. That could be flimsy, though, as Casey could've struggled with that of course. But then again, plot convenience.

TL;DR

The brooch is probably non-existent and Draxum just did some mystic shit to the kid.

Leo’s the leader! Obviously. He’s the oldest, (technically) he wears blue, so of course he’s gonna be the leader. It comes with the name Leonardo. That’s how it works, right?

Leo tries to act like he’s all big stuff, but he’s really the opposite, a fake ego if you will. He’s really pretty mellow and quiet. He wishes he wasn’t though, so to hide it he copies the personalities of characters or people who have the confidence he doesn’t actually have, basing almost his whole self on them. Some of note being Sonic, rottmnt Leo, and probably Deku or Tanjiro tbh, main character energy. This tendency will come back to bite him later, after meeting Leon, basically his hero, and realizing that what he knew about him from the tv show was only just a fraction of himself, and now he doesn’t know who he’s been basing himself on all these years. Some sort of identity crisis.

Some hobbies of his include writing, collecting things, and watching anime. Writing helps him get his emotions out, since he’s pretty bad at expressing them with vocal words, he can just never think of the right ones to say.

Leo has claustrophobia, he doesn’t really remember where it came from, if it even has a source, but it’s the reason you’ll NEVER see him go inside his shell, and why you’ll also never see him wearing a shirt. It’s not just to look cool, (though it does) he can’t stand those things.

okay this one kind of got away from me i won't lie. even i'm not sure how it ended up how it ended up. so, i'm adding in little headcanons at the start to make up for my detour because i did not expect to get angsty and introspective and barely include what you specifically asked for...

warnings: kind of longer than i thought, i fear it drags. angsty, sad leo, nothing really? fluffy ish too. bad writing that's not proofread. everyone is 18+!! bayverse

Leo couldn’t remember the last time he slept. His head was pounding, an unrelenting percussion beating across his temples, and he could feel a wave of nausea crashing against his chest, a tell-tale sign that he’d been pushing himself too far. It was a sign that he tended to ignore (foolishly so, a mini voice that sounded suspiciously like Splinter chided). His hands trembled imperceptibly, and he gripped his knees to avoid acknowledging it a little longer.

He must’ve been really out of it because he jumped when he felt a pair of warm hands settle upon his shoulders. A burning shame fanned smoke that clogged his throat, a humiliation stitched into his veins that your touch couldn’t cleanse. “Leo?”

He couldn’t reply, letting himself recline and press gently against your palms instead. “Leo,” you murmured again, and he glanced at you tiredly, normally bright blue eyes hollow with exhaustion. You looked pensive and worried, brows drawn and eyes soft, wearing an old shirt he never wore anyway, and he wanted nothing more than to sooth the anxious lines of your face with the fingers that still grasped his knees. A fresh wave of guilt clawed its way into his gut and nestled there. He was worrying you, he knew, and now you weren’t sleeping either. He had warned you before you’d gotten together of what things would be like. Maybe you didn’t believe him at the time, and he wondered if this was the moment you realised and walked out (or he drove you away).

You’d come into his life when things had been eerily calm, and he’d stupidly felt confident that he could juggle everything and still have you, still indulge in something he had refused to let himself consider a realistic possibility. He knew Raph longed for acceptance and comfort and love, and that, despite his insecurities and anger and hurt, he would never stop dreaming of it. Donnie would envisage it quietly, usually agreeing with Leo’s dismissal of acceptance but privately yearning for it more than he’d ever let his family know (but Leo knew). Mikey wanted it too and wasn’t shy about it; he was so happy and sociable and sunny that it made Leo nauseous to repeatedly shut down dreams of the life he deserved. The thing that made Leo truly sick, sick with the world and with himself, was that Mikey truly believed, even after all these years, that he’d succeed in attaining it.

Leo thought he’d succeeded, thought he’d managed to find the thing that tore his brothers up inside without even looking for it (and that only made him hate himself more, something he would never – could never – bring himself to admit to you). You had only been dating a month, but God, he thought he’d found everything he had always refused himself. Love and acceptance outside of his family weren’t things Leo allowed himself to consider before. As a teenager, he’d meditated over and over to clear those useless longings from his mind. Then you appeared in his life out of nowhere like an apparition, offering solace and tenderness, and he didn’t want to refuse himself those impossibilities anymore.

Perhaps he’d been too hasty, it wasn’t like him to throw caution to the wind, to dive in headfirst. He hadn’t considered the implications enough, had been foolish to think he could be a leader, a hero, a brother, and a lover to you, and now here he was trembling and feeling sorry for himself with your sad eyes watching him and cutting straight to his core.

“Mikey got hurt,” he rasped. He’d let Mikey get hurt, he added silently, and somehow you must’ve heard him.

“Mikey is fine, back in one piece thanks to you,” you shot him a half-smile that made his heart stutter even at a time like this. “He was practically bouncing off the walls when his stitches were finished.” 

Leo didn’t reply.

You placed your hand against his cheek, and he clenched his jaw to stop himself nuzzling into its softness. “It’s not your fault.”

“They’re my responsibility and I failed them,” he said simply. They’re my brothers and I didn’t protect them. “Things are getting worse with the Foot Clan and I–” I don’t know what to do.

Your sad eyes were somehow even sadder, and it made his own sting. He blinked quickly. “You’re not infallible and invincible, Blue; your brothers know that, your father knows that. You do your best.” What happened when his best wasn’t good enough? You clasped his jaw tighter, somehow reading his mind again. “You’re more than good enough, you can’t control everything, and you can’t keep carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.���

The terrapin let you remove his gear, the heavy straps that had been digging into the hardened skin of his shoulders. You pressed soft kisses into the scales, and he closed his eyes at the reverence in your delicate touches as your nails trailed along his shell. “Everything will be okay,” you whispered, the heat of your breath soothing his still-trembling hands and warming his soul. “Your brothers are safe,” another kiss as gentle as moonlight, “I’m safe,” one more to the junction between his shoulder and neck that made his eyelids flutter, “and you’re the most incredible man I’ve ever known.”

Leo hated the shakiness of his breathing, torn between the urge to tense further and wanting to melt into your touch, as your fingers kneaded the strain poisoning his muscles. You pretended not to notice, movements heartbreakingly tender. Had anyone ever been this gentle with him?

“You do more than anyone could ever ask you to. Well,” you amended softly, a hint of fond exasperation colouring your tone, “anyone but yourself.” Your hands continued to work in tandem with your words, one a balm to the aches of his body and the other a balm to the aches your hands couldn’t wash away. “You do so much for this city, for people who won’t ever know it.”

The churrs that rumbled his chest were deep and Leo couldn’t do anything to prevent the unwinding of his limbs and the slowing of his anxious thoughts under the comforting weight of your affection and acceptance. He brought his hand up to clasp one of your own. You were so small it made his heart clench with fear and desire, and for a moment he felt that familiar feeling of inadequacy at his own monstrosity before you chased it away with a loving kiss to each fingertip. He swallowed thickly as you managed to tangle your fingers with his, your hands slotting together with ease. You smiled at him and kissed the top of his head, squeezing his hand, and he pushed himself deeper into your embrace. Looking at your joined hands again, Leo pressed his lips reverently against each knuckle, feeling like if Icarus had somehow managed to cradle the sun. He repeated the kisses once, then twice. Thank you.

You smile wider and he lets you lead him to his bed and your accepting arms.

Went down a devastating line of thought and I’m taking you all down with me

So I read this (link @desceros) and was like “haha ouchie” and because I actually love to suffer (I’m also summoned from my little rot hole as soon as I see any mention of Lavi). I thought “what if Vi isn’t even there”.

Grief is such an intense, all consuming feeling and it’s not unusual to pretend they’re still with you. To imagine they’re there chastising you while you’re doing something you know they wouldn’t approve of. To have full conversations with (Seemingly) no one while you go about your business, feeling them there with you. Imagining they’re holding you at night, keeping you anchored as you tremble.

Beside him he has a little turtle plush Raph made when you both still had hope. The plush now has a torn piece of your shirt wrapped around her so that you’ll always together. (I wonder if its the one you were wearing when it happened).

There are also a couple of shirts tucked away somewhere that would have been hers. He gave away the rest to someone else on the base who was expecting, he just couldn’t bring himself to give them all away.

He has your shirts hoarded and on rotation to use as his pillow case. If he tries hard enough, and he’s sleep deprived enough, he can still smell traces of you. He can hear whispers of your voice when he’s really sleep deprived.

And if he manages to sleep deprive himself to the point where he sees you? Well that’s his business

Yeah, so I read "Little kid with a big death wish" by @remedyturtles and. You guys. You GUYS. It's so. Heart-wrending and evocative and so so well written. Like. I'm going to have turtle fanfiction stapled in my soul now.

It's a post kraang fic, but like. Mostly about the characters (mostly Leo) and how they're dealing with stuff ... Emotionally... Mentally. Physically. There's also TMNT shenanigans about what exactly is going on with Leo.

I recommend it fully, with the caveat of minding the tags, please.

My ass is back and better than ever let's go with analyze four? I have no fucking clue.

Subtly way of showing or hinting that Raphael knows what Kendra did all for Donnie, the self care the getting him slowly back. I think this is Raph somehow saying 'thank you' because Kendra did more than just 'helping him with his hair'. Also very symbolic of Raph giving Kendra his shirt, almost like him giving Kendra the role to handle his small family that is still left, because let's be real, Kendra has her shit under control she took lead and called the shots of leaving the city. She listened to Cassandra about her pregnancy, when it matters she steps up. And Raph sees that and probably knows whatever happens she will stay.

Donnie already showed very early on that he cares, giving Kendra the wrist thing(I'm sorry I literally forgot what the english word is and Google gives me weird answers), and she still wears it. And we all know that Donnie shows his love and affection through tech. The fist Raph gives Kendra is maybe also a reminder for her that she already wears one thing that is a symbol on how Donnie cares.

In general was Raph there to remind Kendra that they care Donnie, Cassandra and Draxum yes they are all fucked up and even though Kendra is also a bitch with issues, but she went to therapy so she is way more likely to get shit done. I think this talk between Raph and Kendra was like a little pep talk from Raph, he doesn't want her to leave or give up. He clearly knows and saw what Kendra is to Donnie, he wants Donnie to get better like everyone else and yes right now Kendra is the person who actually managed all this. This talk was Raph literally being a big brother to Kendra and telling her:"Hey don't give up, I know you have doubts but push through them." And I fucking love that.

Also I know Donnie will get a stroke when he sees Kendra in his dead big brother shirt, we love to see more trauma reactions.

let me talk about leo and donnie’s matching clothes pLEASE

plus a lil bit of mikey and raph near the end :>

so we all know the obvious ones like in ‘repairin’ the baron’ and in ‘man vs sewer’

but i want to talk about the little things hehe. starting with the two mentioned above anyways lmaooo

yes they’re matching but i love the little differences they add on. leo wears a blue undershirt, fully going ride or die with his blue theme, while donnie goes for a white undershirt for a more classic look.

i think that says a lil but about their characters and how they thought to present themselves to april’s mum (who they thought they were meeting). they both wanted to look good hence the stunning matching outfits, but leo also wanted to be himself (hence the blue undershirt), compared to donnie who wanted to appeal to april’s mother (hence the more classic look with the white).

in man vs sewer, they are both wearing the singlet and board short combo, however leo opts for simplicity and ‘laidbackness’ keeping the bare minimum and keeping his shirt loose and untucked. donnie on the other hand goes further and adds the extra decorative shirt to really hammer home the ‘i’m not a useful member of society’ and the holiday/break vibes he’s trying so hard to feel. he also chooses to tuck his shirt in, which i think is just a personal stylistic choice, one which extenuates and shows off the board shorts more and one which mirrors his belt that’s a part of his usual outfit.

now onto snow day :>

at a brief glance it doesn’t seem like they’re matching but you’d be wRONG! they’re wearing the same shoes, pants and scarf, however they choose different jackets and headgear according to their personal tastes (i also wanna point out how donnie’s pants are more boxy/puffy at the bottom to fit with his whole rectangle theme, while leo’s are tucked in firmly, providing a more angular/triangular look).

leo chose a sirius black looking leather jacket bc why wouldn’t he lmaooo. it very much screams leo in the sense of his faceman attitude and his ‘confidence.’ he also chose a beanie which provides a more hippie, laidback and cool vibe.

donnie, ever the nerd, matches his jacket and headwear, as they both have the light purple fluff. donnies jacket is also much more practical and feels like something you’d see skii-ers (how tf do you spell that), hikers and snow-bikers wear. he’s also wearing the ugliest fucking hat /lh that’s reminiscent of what those occupations also wear.

so what we can take away from this is that leo will look cool whatever the weather and donnie will dress for the practicality of the occasion.

now in the clothes dont make the turtle there are A LOT of matching outfits, not just from donnie and leo, for example, in the images above, all the boys are wearing classic black suits with white button downs, however they all style them differently.

i’d also like to note the slight differences on the collars of the suit jackets (leo and donnie’s are matching, mikey’s is more rounded with a lil point and raph’s mirrors his spikes).

they all style their suits differently by using different ties. leo goes for a black and blue striped tie, which i think showcases his sense of style and his playfulness in comparison to raph, who decides to play it safe with a classic one-toned tie.

mikey goes for a cute bowtie bc why wouldn’t he he’s adorable, and it also fits in with him being the youngest and ‘the baby’, as bowties are most commonly worn by kids.

donnie decides to completely forego the tie altogether bc he doesn’t need it, he’s already stunning 😩 lmao but i actually think he’s just really playing into his emotionally unavailable bad boy image.

there’s also these matching monstrosities for god knows what reason

and it’s not super matchy, but raph and leo also both rock the singlet under the open button down shirt (though the colours are swapped and leo pops the collar causes he’s an idiot /aff)

and lastly!! these outfits. now at first glance, you’re probably thinking ‘elva what the fuck are you going on about’ BUT just hear me out!!

they both have ripped aspects to their outfits, leo’s at the shoulders and donnie’s at the waist. it’s obviously not an intentional match but i think they just subconsciously did it :>

they’re also both wearing head accessories, though in totally different styles (leo with his backwards cap to look ‘cool’ while donnie adorns a beanie to complete his LA hipster vibe)

A/N: I like to think that these are pictures they have found on the internet and liked, in order to get inspiration for their outfits. This outfits would be more accurate of what they would wear from their mid/late teens to mid/late twenties💚

Important for all:

All the children have a physic that is closer to a human, than any of their fathers have. That means that their shells are much smaller, and their heights and growths are much closer to a human’s. That gives them a much greater ability to play with  and wear human clothing, in a way their fathers never have. However, they still have a lack of hair, green skin, and less digits than a human on their hands. But that does not stop them from trying dressing like humans, as they very much enjoy doing that.

Leonardo:

Romeo:

Romeo likes to keep his looks clean. Not a lot of accessories, but when he does he keeps it to a watch, one to two rings and a few hair ties. Why hair ties when he actually doesn’t have any hair? Well, ask the sweet girl Marcello has caught Romeo talking to. Romeo likes to go with very neutral colors, such as black, white, gray, beige and maybe brown, as he feels it goes better with green skin. Generally he goes with darker colors, but sometimes you can find a small pop of something light here or there.

Marcello:

The artist of the family likes to play a little with his looks. Not that he goes overboard, but he does play a little with it. Marcello usually has a baseline of black that he keeps throughout his outfits, but there are times where he will try to go out of his comfort zone, going with brown and beiges in one outfit. In his usual outfits, Marcello usually wears something that is mainly black, with a little white and some sort of eye-catching color, in a generally every eye-catching outfit. That could be with a bag of a certain shape, or many chains or belts.

Gerardo:

Gerardo is not very interested in fashion. That generally just isn’t something that he spends a lot of time thinking about. To him, it is all about comfort over looks. But he does have a tendency to gravitate towards certain colors and silhouettes. Those colors are very standard and are pretty much always present in what he’s wearing. Blue, white, gray and black. The blue is usually in his jeans, but at times it can also come from his jackets, or maybe even his sweatshirts. He keeps his shoes white, and does quite often have a white shirt under his often black sweatshirt.

Valentina:

Miss elegant, even when it’s casual. Just like her oldest brother, Valentina likes to keep her looks clean. However, where Romeo would have had less accessories, Valentina will have more, often in gold. She likes to keep a balance between the darker side and the lighter side of her color plate. If she wears something that is place, she will often wear something that is light, to break up the darkness and bring some light on her. She likes heels and small hand bags, really not helping her get rid of the Princess nickname.

Raphael:

Joan:

Joan is a very independent woman that often works out and does a lot of sports, who does not like it when her clothes get in the way of her movements. Therefore she often wears sport clothing, most often black sport clothing. That most often consists of leggings, jokers and different kinds of crop tops. When Joan first started wearing those crop tops, Raph almost had a heart attack. But that did not stop Joan from wearing them. She will often pair them with caps of different colors, neutral colored jackets and white shoes.

Minerva:

Mini is not much of a dress girl. As she got into her teens, she started gravitating further and further towards jeans, often ripped jeans. She likes to wear something with more of a street vibe to it, usually with a small pop of extra bling somewhere. She often pairs that with graphic tees, or crop tops she has “borrowed” from Joan. Tops was not the only thing that Mini “borrowed” from her big sister. Some of those things being her big sis caps or other hats. Sometimes her shoes as well. Has Joan asked her to bring them back to her? Yes. Has Mini done that yet? … Maybe.

Ragnar:

Ragnar’s style is very much about comfort over looks, but he does put importance on looks. He is the type to mainly wear jogging pants, hoodies, sweatshirts, caps, beanies, and a small bag, usually a fanny pack he will wear across his chest. Oversize in style that makes him feel nice and comfortable, providing him with a sense of security, and gives him a silhouette of being bigger and therefore stronger. Not that he isn’t strong already. These are usually in very basic colors that Ragnar finds easy to mix and match. Black, down, gray, white  and beige.

Donatello:

Galileo:

Gali’s style is a little more soft, and closer to academia. He enjoys the high waisted slacks, sweaters and button up shirts. His color plate falls in the area of light blue, dark blue, black, brown and white. Although not apparent on the pictures shown from Gali’s pinterest, he also likes different shades of purple or very light shades of pink. Gali very often has his arms covered up. Not that he has anything against his arms, but simply because he likes how it looks. In his opinion, it makes him look smarter, like the scientist he really wants to become - just like his father.

Dorothy:

Dorothy is a more stereotypical girly girl, both in her style but also her interest. The majority of her closet consists of pinks, along with flower patterns, flowy pants, skirts and dresses. In her teens, Dorothy would generally cover up, as she thought that was what looked the best. But in her twenties, Dorothy would start showing off more skin, trying out new silhouettes. Yet she still kept close to her pinks, flowers and dresses. It is what Dorothy feels more comfortable with, and will continue to stick with.

Marie:

While Dorothy is a girly girl, Marie is the opposite. She is a very stereotypical tomboy, that has said no to dresses ever since she was a young girl, and gravitated towards pants and baggy clothing. Marie generally gets her clothes from her brother or her cousins, being allowed to look through the clothes they don’t want to have anymore. That meant pants, shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts or even caps. That has led Marie not only to enjoy thrifting, but also led her to enjoy upcycling clothes, often making some interesting clothing.

Michelangelo:

Sunny:

The bright and happy energy from Sunny’s personality is very much reflected in her style. She has a style that could be categorized as Y2K, often gravitating towards warm colors or happy patterns that are easy to dress in casual ways. She doesn’t wear many dresses, as she isn’t a fan of how they make her feel when she wears them. However pants, either jeans, loose jeans, stretchy fabric pants with trumpet legs are her favorites. When it comes to shirts, she either goes oversized or sticks to crop tops. There’s no in between.

Luis:

Luis is happy and bright, and loves to be active, and his clothes are very much a reflection of that. He wears bright colors that are as uplifting as his presence. Those colors usually consist of white, different kinds of green, blue, sometimes even orange, yellow, red, purple, and pink as well. However, his articles of clothing are pretty basic. They consist of jeans, slacks, t-shirts and sweatshirts. Luis does like sweatshirts more than he likes hoodies. Sometimes he might wear a beanie or cap, but he does not like to have a hood. To him it feels like it pulls on his clothes.

(these answers will be about 2k3 mikey unless stated otherwise because he's ~my~ mikey. i apologise for the length of these answers, it seems i had a lot to say?! i also apologise for how much i bring up fast forward here, it seems that i'm fixated on it really hard right now.)

8. what’s your favorite dynamic of him and any other character? what makes it your favorite?

It's so hard to pick just one!!

i thought a lot about this, but i think splinter? he's exasperated that his son can be a bit lazy and distracted from ninja training, but still had him specialise in nunchaku, showing that he believes in his ability to master a difficult weapon. splinter surrendering in the battle nexus so that mikey could advance was so heartwarming and honestly makes me emotional to remember. in the first turtle titan episode even though he doesn't understand why mikey admires superheroes so much he acknowledges that his intentions are noble and he needs to follow the path truest to his heart. veering a little more into headcanon territory, i do think that being the most openly affectionate, baby mikey was a master manipulator in terms of melting his rat dad's heart. i can picture him climbing onto splinter's lap every time he sits down and being the most reluctant to go down for naps. and in a particular au i'm cultivating that delves more into mikey's potential romantic life, i think he would go to his father for advice. splinter may not be well versed in romance outside of his soap operas, but he will always be here for his kids when they need him.

(this, of course, makes me very bitter over the flanderisation of their relationship in fast forward. ff!splinter might as well walk around wearing a shirt that says "i hate my lazy video game addicted son" and it breaks my heart.)

13. what’s something about mikey that nobody seems to talk about that should be talked about more?

tbh i think a lot of people love mikey and have analysed him in just about every way possible and what i end up saying is probably not the most groundbreaking take, but here is something that i've thought about a fair bit but haven't really seen from anyone else?

in fast forward, mikey is depressed. it is handled by the narrative about as delicately as a bull in a china shop, but it's there.

5 seasons of being bombarded with trauma-inducing storylines culminates in temporarily dying, going full dragon avatar mode to defeat the demon shredder and then finally they are able to relax, breathe easy, process some of these emotions - but noooo, instead they get ripped out of their timeline and dropped 100 years in the future with no way home and the studio execs wouldnt let them rightfully lose their shit at cody so instead we see the turtles bottle that rage and slowly descend into semi-flanderised madness. /lh

mikey in particular becomes very sensitive to rejection (see: losing his goddamn mind and going on an all out offensive against turtle titan ii, after being talked down the first time he raged out, because raph made One Comment about how his successor is better at heroism than he is), prone to emotional outbursts, especially anger (remember that iconic clip of him beating up cops and stealing their cars because they pissed him off?), loses interest in his ninja training, maintains very poor hygiene/living conditions, grows addicted to video games, and in rare moments of vulnerability (namely in graduation day of 2105) he expresses that he sees himself as lazy, unfocused, a 'goofball', and undeserving when it comes to being recognised for his ninja skills like his brothers. my man's self-esteem is in the toilet, he is craving normalcy after years of constantly fighting for his life, and his dopamine is clearly critically low because he is dependent on all the fancy material goods of 2105 to be happy. his method of coping with the difficult emotions being stranded in the future has brought up, while still maintaining the silly funny guy routine that his family expect from him, is to bury himself in VR. and why wouldn't he, when among the uptick in mikey roasts over the course of this season we literally hear splinter say the words "where did i go wrong with that boy?" THOSE WORDS STAY WITH YOU WHEN THEY COME FROM YOUR PARENTS. THEY HURT.

he's very empathetic to leo's own depression in season 4, being the voice of reason at the beginning of samurai tourist when raph is ready to fight him. we also see at several points in seasons 1-5 that his loud ego is a front and he is actually very aware of his shortcomings, especially seen in grudge match. in a different timeline where 2k3 wasn't neutered following insane in the membrane, i do wonder if the turtles would have been able to explore their turbulent feelings regarding the 2105 situation. since mikey and leo are often paired up for adventures in 2k3, it would be an interesting parallel to see leo recognising signs of depression in his brother and helping him, imparting some of ancient one's wisdom (and, in the great year of 2105 where mutants are equal citizens and cody has money to burn, finding him a good cognitive behavioural therapist).

i don't think the writers INTENDED to code mikey as depressed / struggling to cope in season 6 - i think it was a toxic combo of writing more 'mikey is lazy/immature/irresponsible and needs to be taught a lesson' episodes than the usual season average + thinking it was a funny social commentary gag to make him obsessive over video games. but i saw a lot of those traits in myself when i was deep in a depression hole. the show has already told us that the turtles' mental states have been impacted by the ridiculousness they have gone through. why would mikey be any different?

(WARNING THIS IS NOT A HAPPY ONE) If you know the game's plot YOU KNOW

(I have changed a lot from the OG game there is ZERO romance except for a brief appearance from Usagi and a small subplot) (and I've also removed some of the more triggering aspects due to personal reasons)

Long story short, Big Mama and Splinter split up, and she takes Donnie in the divorce. Afraid to loose anymore of his family, Splinter packs up and leaves Arcadia with Raph, Leo and Mikey, taking them far away to the city. This happening when they were 12-14

About two years down the line, Leo runs away to reunite with his twin in Arcadia Bay, which he does. Mikey and Raph stay behind in the city, Mikey to young to really understand what's going on, and Raph insistent on staying with pops.

Years later, Mikey decides he wants to go to Blackwell Academy in his old hometown, as he wants to see his family and study photography/painting. Mikey discovers he has time powers during a fight in the bathroom where he saves the life of one of the people.

This turns out to be Donnie, who has grown rougher and bitter, as he feels he was left behind by his family.

And now, Leo is missing.

originally this was gonna be a full multi choice comic, but I couldn't settle on an art style I liked that was quick and easy to draw, and I am not paid enough/lh to draw a fully rendered comic like that.

Chapter 8: Poptarts for Breakfast

2007! Raph x Reader

A/N: GUYS IM LITERALLY SO SORRY I HAVNT UPDATED THIS I JUST KINDA FORGOT ABOUT IT AND NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT AND WHEN I DID I COULDNT THINK OF WHAT TO WRITE AND I HAD TO STUDY FOR SOME TESTS AND IT WAS JUST AHHHHH BUT IM BACK!!

When you woke up, you were laid down on the couch with the blanket tangled between your legs. You glanced around, rubbing your eyes to unblur your them. You were just about to panic about where you were before you remembered about last night. You slumped back down on the couch before hearing a voice.

“Morning, sleepyhead!!” The orange-banded turtle greeted you. “We have poptarts for breakfast! Or cereal! Or pizza!”

You chuckled a little, sheepishly brushing the bed head out of your face. “I'll just have a poptart, thanks..” You yawned and stood up, folding the blanket back up to not be rude.  Mikey threw you a poptart, and to your surprise, you actually caught it. You laughed a little. “Thanks, Mikey.”

“Of course bro!” He smiled as he chomped on some leftover pizza.

“Hey, um, where's the bathroom?” You asked, awkwardly smiling.

He grinned and pointed you in the direction you needed to go. You thanked him and headed that way, before stopping in your tracks when you heard grunting (get yo mind outta the gutter, it's already occupied with mine).

You peaked inside the room you were passing to see Raph doing push ups. 

You stared for a minute before you heard him scoff without looking up.

“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

You blushed and fully stepped in. “Sorry, I was um.. looking for the bathroom.”

He looked over at you and raised a brow. “Well, this aint the bathroom. It's the one beside this room.”

You nodded and sheepishly laughed. “Yeah, I need to get home after this anyway, because I don't have any extra clothes or a toothbrush or anything. My breath probably reeks right now.”

He shrugged. "You really think I'll be bothered by that? I hafta live in the sewers for God's sake, let alone live with Mikey."

You giggled a little. "I guess.. but what about clothes?" 

He sighed before standing up. "I have an old shirt you can use… I never really wear it, cuz well I don't need it. I also have some jogging pants too," Raph led you out of the room and to what must have been his bedroom.

It was a decent sized tunnel that was sectioned off with a curtain, with a sign that read “get lost” beside it. You chuckled.He rustled around for a minute beside his makeshift bed, before throwing an oversized AC/DC shirt and a black pair of joggers at you.

You caught it before it hit the floor, and grasped it in your hands.  "Thank you, Raph. I'll go change in the bathro-"

Raph held his hand up. "No it's fine, I'll get outta your hair and you can change in here.. i-if you want."

You giggle a little and nod. "Okay, sure."

He lets out a small laugh, before leaving and making sure the curtain gave you the privacy you needed. You looked around, and sat on his bed. It was really creaky, assuming from it being overly stuffy down in the sewers.

You took a last glance to the curtain, before starting to change. You moved quickly, just in case one of Raph's brothers came in without realising. Little did she know was Raph right outside of the room to make sure that exact thing didn't happen.

When you were done, you pulled the curtain back, holding your pile of clothes. You jumped when you saw Raph right there. "Jesus, what the fck?!"

He let out a snicker. "You really are jumpy arentcha?"

You rolled your eyes. "Shut up… you don't happen to have a bag I could put my clothes in could you?"

He thought for a minute before walking around you back into his room, before he threw a fabric bag at you. He chuckled when you playfully glared at him, shoving your clothes in the bag.

"Are you.. leaving?" Raph asked, not looking at you as he walked up beside you. 

You shrug. "I could stay for a little bit if that's okay?" You ask looking up at him.

He smiled a little. "Yeah, okay. You workout?"

"Uh…" you smiled sheepishly
