Hey uh.. can I have a small summary or just the general plit of your fic Locked Out? It sounds interesting and I want to know what to expect and if I should check it out

First of all, this is the Ao3 summary, since from the way you’re asking I can’t 100% tell if you’ve read that or have just seen art/someone talk about the story and got curious:

“Belos gave me a choice. He told me to get rid of Luz, one way or another. And I did. Now everyone’s back in the realm they belong in, nobody got hurt and Luz is forever out of danger. It’s best for everyone involved that way.”

“Keep telling yourself that, Lily.” Eda glared daggers at her sister. “Oh, and solid job on locking your own protégée out of the Boiling Isles, by the way.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Amity went through the door after Luz,” Emira chimed in. Her voice was scarily monotone. “Now she’s trapped on the other side of the portal you just destroyed.”

Summer has come to an end, which means Luz is forced to return from ‘summer camp’ and resume her regular life back at home with her mom. When she leaves, she promises she’ll be back soon.

Unable to overcome her fear of telling Luz how she feels about her before she steps through the door, Amity finally finds the courage to do it when the door closes behind Luz and makes the rash decision to follow her.

Then something goes wrong, and now Amity is stuck in Luz’s realm with her crush, far away from everything she’s ever known.

Getting back home might prove more difficult than she’d originally hoped...

Additional info in case you had already read the summary and just wanted to know a bit more:

This is a universe where AOAW and YBOS never happened (Lilith is still the person that cursed Eda, but Eda doesn’t know that yet), and basically, Luz just spent the summer going on whacky, light-hearted adventures with her friends, learning new spells from Eda and at Hexside, etc.

Also Eda’s curse didn’t get as much worse as fast.

The very very vague plot includes:

-Amity living with Luz and Camila because she can’t get home (and all of them bond)

-Human realm-related shenanigans because Amity has no idea what’s going on half the time

-Lots of Lumity that might or might not be slow burn, depending on your definition of slow burn XD

-The others trying to create a new portal so they can get Luz and Amity back

-Belos trying to cement his control over the Boiling Isles

-This is kind of a bigger spoiler so feel free to skip this point, but: The Blight twins running away from home

-All of the Blight kids finally getting a decent support system

-There’s also some Vinira, but aside from very vaguely hinting at it that’s not in the story yet so it’s also not in the tags yet (I’ll add it when we get there)

-Eda being her usual owlmom self

-Lilith having tons of regrets

-A Willow side plot featuring Grudgby

-A Gus side plot that I can’t talk about yet without giving away huge spoilers

-Tons of found family stuff with several of the characters

-Me making basically the entire cast cry (it’s mostly a hurt/comfort fic, so there’s a lot of hurt, especially in the early chapters, but also a lot of comfort)

-A general theme of personal growth, asking for and accepting help and working through issues together, as well as different kinds of reconciliation and forgiveness (also in a sense of what can and what can’t be forgiven)

There’s also a few other things that I’m not going to talk about yet because they would give away too much.

Not all of that is in the chapters I’ve posted so far, but that’s kind of what you can generally expect from the story, both already and in the future.
