I know The Founders Cut, generally, is the edited scrubbed over version of genloss from Showfall in-universe (as well as a not-8-hour-long-three-stream-binge-night whenever we want to watch it again) but something that struck me as odd and I haven’t seen anyone mention yet, is this warning

It shows up right at the junction where the third act starts, where it appears the Hero is breaking free of Showfall thanks to Hetch. But here’s the thing, while a LOT less than the previous acts the audience still played a significant role in this act, even when really only given two audience interaction choices. Which makes me wonder, how real is this warning, and who is it for? Obviously the audience involved knows what happens past this point, but the audience is also implied to be an integral part of the Social Experiments, which is part of why things start to tweak out when the Founder removes them in the Founder Cut as the Generation Loss generation loses.

My first thought, was that obviously this is another bait and switch, a way to draw the audiences attention, seeing something that’s secret, something that’s not “meant for them”, which is a tactic I could see Showfall using in universe to keep people’s attention and add an air of mystery to their shows.

But

Showfall is doing all their experiments and these shows with a LOT of help from their censors to show it off, displaying a fun silly show that is definitely not uber fucked up and that is 100% just slime don’t worry about it, it’s kid friendly if it’s green! And I don’t think they’d want to bet all their cards on this one experiment doing well enough to their audience to not question the sudden shift in tone that follows this warning. Which makes me wonder.

They did their test, they did their experiment, and the evidence of this last act? I think it was a one time run, they don’t want anyone seeing this, it isn’t for the audience. Act three is specifically to both test and play with their Hero, Hetch’s new lines add a level to this, never once does he call the Hero by their name, just refers to Ranboo as their Role, and he’s not exactly. Nice? About literally any of Ranboos concerns, which wouldn’t really seem conductive to making an audience trust him, especially with his monologue at the end. Ranboo has escaped before, possibly right before act 1 started, they tightened the security on his mask to be unremovably part of them, Hetch doesn’t like the Hero but they’re a fan favorite so he can’t just get rid of them.

Act three is the cumulation of Ranboo being punished for things they don’t remember, for daring to break free from Showfalls control, this is Hetch taking the Hero and essentially majorly fucking and manipulating them to take his frustration out on a fan favorite they can’t otherwise get rid of or give a smaller role like Slimecicle. which is exemplified by the fact that we now know Charlie most likely was never able to actually able to fully snap out of the control, that even in act three in panic and confusion there was at least still a part of him being influenced by Showfall.

So the first two acts are the usual show, they have their posters, they have Squiggles to introduce them, they have goofs and silliness and only a couple slip ups that’re quickly dealt with, the usual rose tinted curtains. Act three?

“Tell Blaidd, and Iji…I love them.”

Before this piece, I had been wanting for a long time to create my own piece of Elden Ring fanart featuring Ranni. I had tried several sketches unsuccessfully, just wasn’t particularly feeling the ideas I had sketched up until that point.

One day of usual internet scrolling, I stumbled upon this gorgeous piece of art by Shimomura Kanzan.

I knew immediately I wanted to do something like this for my Elden Ring fanart. In fact, if you look at this piece, there is tons of inspiration that I drew from the original artwork, such as the style of the yellow leaves and the main subject matter being a prominent silhouette of the brightest value, placed at approximately the bottom third of the image.

The main character is cleverly shrouded amidst various layers of trees and foliage, giving us the impression that we're peeking into candid moment of their life. In the case of the fox, we caught it during a mid-day snack. In the case of Ranni and her party, we caught them in a leisurely stroll, while Iji outfits the dreaded Fingercreepers with their iconic rings.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to capture a happy moment, but Ranni goes as far as to ask us to deliver to Iji and Blaidd the message that she loves them dearly as her quest draws near its end. I would imagine they all must have had fun moments together as a family. Hey, maybe even the hands liked to be around them?

The process

I started this on my iPad using the procreate app. Sadly the full process is not captured on video, as I switched to Photoshop for the rendering phase of the illustration. This video is a fun window into my chaotic process and how I iterate on the fly on the same canvas. I probably wouldn't do that in a professional setting where you often need to have color keys and iterations to be reviewed and analyzed. I like to I cut myself some slack when doing personal art to keep things fun.

Trying and failing some more

This illustration was not a straightforward path. I haven’t been very diligent about personal art, and at some point I started deviating too much from my reference by adding too many levels of depth to the background and suffocating the piece. I got into a weird loop where I would randomly open the PSD, play around with the values, pushing Iji to the back, then bringing him back, cranking all the levers on Ranni, etc., decide it would look horrible, then begrudgingly determine I’d never complete this image and go on with my life.

As artists we likely have unfinished work sitting everywhere, be it in our sketchbooks, canvases, or hard drives. But it’s a different kind of sting when you feel like you can’t even nail the fundamentals.

Anyway, so a couple weeks ago, I decided to give it another go, but this time I would get rid of all the unnecessary stuff, even stuff that I had been trying to render for ages. I would not hold on to anything, I would try and recapture what drew me to Kanzan's beautiful painting to begin with.

After it became a matter of pushing and pulling pixels until the image was finished!

That’s about it. I didn’t go crazy in depth but lately I’ve been enjoying reading into artists’ processes and I’d be remiss to not share my own thought process also.

Another addition to my portraits of Alfred.

Um... I don't really know. This time for real. Something hit me on the head, and I got the idea to create whatever this pink abomination is.

I have a habit of making things that make my eyes sore, though.

Confession: I love Alfred's Cold War era uniform (well, it's actually a variation of the WWII uniform). I depicted him wearing an Airborne one 'cause of the eagle patch on official artwork—the trademark of division. I've seen the other creators playing a guessing game with uniforms, so there really isn't a "canon" tradition to follow.

And also it's cunty-- I mean, the Ike jacket, the boots, the silly cap. Giving fierce.

I'm sorry... (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)

Personally, I always try to make clothing historically accurate. Then I should explain a few details. The long shoulder thingies—fourragères, left one—Belgian (it correlates with the red ropes that most artists drew on Alfred's uniform. It's the closest I could find that would be time-appropriate, and I saw that it could also have arm loops. More strings. So, a tricky fact: it should be worn on the left, but I read that it could be worn and was usually worn by soldiers on the right if there is a French Croix de Guerre 39/45 on the left, which is... the same-looking fourragère as Belgian. No braided strings staking!), the right one—Dutch lanyard (it's orange, close call to red! But, one big but, don't take my words seriously, 'cause I read too many different opinions on some 2007 forum discussion that I became confused with placement. I don't really know what is actually right, please don't come for me, I tried my best and it's only a drawing) and the French one, I've mentioned earlier.

Other accessories: on the left pocket—the presidential unit citation award; on the right, above the ribbon bar set (um, I won't specify what ribbons I could've depicted, as this post will become twice as long)—jump wings; and also the M1916 holster (colt is included!) on the leg. Did you know that little strap was used to secure the holster on the thigh? I didn't before diving into the hunt for references. The strap also could be tied in some peculiar knots, but Alfred is a messy bitch/j, and it means messy wrapping on the muzzle.

The autism in me powers the fuel of a research engine for a Hetalia fanart. Yikes.

One thing that I didn't want to change was the neck scarf. Sadly, there isn't one for real uniform, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. It's just too iconic, even for my historical accuracy quirk. And the hat should be larger, however, I wasn't bothered about the right size. It's a mini-cap.

Okay, I need to address the elephant in the room. Yes, mouths. Different emotions (or I tried to make them different). Am I insane for this? Absolutely. They're reminding me of the first colour TV or ibm computers with Warhol's style.

The second ver is just text, which I thought suited him (tbh, Alfred would make great friends with Maxine, iykyk). I had great fun with distortion filters.

Last thing, the expression is supposed to be somewhat confused laughing like someone accused of something very controversial ("me kissing men??? oh nonono, haha... ',:D") and Alfred just laughs it off, like he usually does. At the same time, looking down on us, the viewer. Though you can freely interpret the expression however you want, it's up to you! (⁠~⁠￣▽￣⁠)⁠~

Sorry for being sudo inactive!! I’ve been on a trip, where I got to see Sweeney Todd on Broadway!! Genuinely such a good show. If I went on about how amazing it was, we’d be here all day

But on the note of me being gone for a bit, ya boi has been crafting! Along with some more ramblings as usual-

The chapter one outline of the Alley Cat AU has been completed! Now it’s on to drawing some panels out and finalizing the draft! Of course I will probably post more concept work before then, as some details still need to be worked out. But we are making headway!

I’m going to also work on making a masterpost here soon, so that way everything is in one neat spot. But the story will be hosted here! Here’s some more smaller concept work to tide you guys over until the next post! I obviously want to finish a couple chapters but I’ve also started work on a chapter explaining how Morro met his cat! Originally the cat was unnamed but I think Wisp works well for them, I will try to finish the reference sheets for all of the characters before I post any chapters.

I’m also going to finish up my work on chapter one, before posting any of it. So that way the wait between isn’t as awful (fun fact that’s been my New Year’s resolution- to try and post more-) but please be patient with me, I’ve never really worked on a project this big before and I am a full time college student with a job. So I will do my best!

I want to let you guys know as well, the ninja and their dynamic with Lloyd will stay pretty similar to that of the show. With them obviously being suspicious of Lloyd and his “cat”, but because they find him and Lloyd doesn’t try to do anything regarding the Serpentine (because Morro shook some sense into him-) there’s no residual “you unleashed the snakes on us-“ vibes. Instead right off the bat Kai takes one look at Lloyd and says “You are now my little brother. You cannot deny this.”, adding more fluff.

That also means we have to find another person who unleashes the serpentine. Because plot reasons and all that jazz, I’m working on it but I think it would be funny if Jay did it by accident or one of the other darkly boys did it. I’ll toy with both ideas and some other ones before I settle on it, I have time. I hope.

I’ve got some other things I’m cooking up, some Ninjago related, others pertaining to other fandoms I’m in.

Bit of a behind the scenes for you guys today ;D

Before I start drawing, I look for references of the character and location so I can make it more accurate to the show. I especially like looking for little details to add, like giving Robin the same lamp as Cyborg. These were the ones I used for this piece:

I usually have a clear image for the drawing in my head, and so I loosely block out the shapes to try and get it as close to the way it's framed in my mind as possible.

I fiddle with it a bit to try and improve the composition, like how he should hold up the jumpsuit to maximize the impact of the red fabric, and where the lamp should be: in between him and the suit, or nearby?

If my initial sketch is too messy, I start over on a clean piece of paper and try to replicate the composition of my first sketch while adding detail. I map out where I want to put light and shadow so I can do the next step: color blocking!

Instagram comes in handy for this, since I can upload my sketch and make sure my plan for the colors looks good before I commit on paper.

Finally, I do the lineart and add the colors. I only use two grey markers and two lineart pens (A thick one to color in the black areas and a thin one to replicate the show's lineart). I like keeping it simple, and can feel a bit intimidated by color theory. The more barriers I can remove between me and drawing, the better, so black and white it is.

I usually edit the raw photo in my phone's photo app, but for this particular one, I had to sneak onto Procreate for the first time in years so I could make the image black and white but keep the red! I've tried drawing digitally before, but it keeps giving me migraines (maybe it's from focusing on a screen?), so I'm kind of an obligate traditional artist haha. This is fine by me, because I like having off-screen hobbies! And I like the forced limitations of the medium. It adds a bit of a problem-solving element to drawing that I enjoy.

Fun fact, while I was drawing this, my light grey marker ran out of ink. It was a struggle to finish it but I managed somehow 😂. Fear not, I bought another one today, so I'll be able to get back to drawing ;D

A/N: Spider's personality in this fic is based on Sloane Tavish, a character from The Naturals book series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. This series is definitely recommended if you like series like Criminal Minds!

There are two references of some of my favorite works of fiction, one from 'Inception' (the film) and one from 'The Maze Runner' (the books). If you recognize the references, I love you. (And please let me know what they are, I want to know if people actually get it right haha)

Spider wasn't like his other peers. He doesn't like parties, gaming or meeting friends. To be honest, Leo is his only friend.

Spider likes to throw out random facts regardless of whether they apply to the circumstance he is in. He is better with numbers and statistics than with people. Spider knows this for sure, just as he knows he usually says the wrong thing (this often leads to hilarious situations). He constantly analyzes people and situations, usually without even meaning to.

Under no circumstances give him coffee. Unless you have to bribe him. Also good to know, he is a kleptomaniac. He can't do anything about it, it just happens.

Is that enough extra information about Spider? Okay, then let's move on to his current situation.

So, here's what we know. Spider's mother was murdered when he was seven, his (step)father was arrested for her murder and went to prison for the rest of his life. Nine years later, his father has escaped from prison and, along with his idiotic henchmen, kidnapped his only friend, using him to convince Spider to allow himself to be kidnapped. And now he's sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table in a cabin in the middle of fucking nowhere. And worst of all, despite his attempts to persuade his captors, they don't give him any coffee.

"Do you have any blank paper and a pencil?" he asks no one specifically. "Why? Are you planning to leave a secret message?" Lyle asks, roaring with laughter. Spider shakes his head. "No, I once came up with a game, and you need blank paper and a pencil for it." he explains. He looks around in surprise as his father's accomplices continue to stare at him. "What?" he asks, confused.

"And what kind of game might that be?" Walker asks with a roll of her eyes and a tone as if he should have been able to read her mind. “Oh, you have to design a maze that takes two minutes to draw and one minute to solve.” he explains impatiently.

Everyone looks at him strangely. Prager shrugs, stands up and walks to a bookcase. He grabs a large stack of papers, some pencils in different colors, an eraser and a pencil sharpener. He walks towards Spider with a soft smile and places the supplies on the coffee table. "Have fun, kid," he says, before walking back to the dining table where Spider's father and the others are sitting. The adults look at Prager strangely, and he shrugs. "Better this than him trying to escape again, right?" Spider hears him say.

Spider turns his attention to his task and begins his first maze design. After about thirty minutes he has drawn and solved about fifteen rectangular mazes. Each maze is drawn in two minutes and solved in one. The layout is sketched in standard graphite pencils, and the maze is solved in red pencil.

On a few occasions, his captors look through his various mazes to make sure Spider isn't doing something he's not supposed to do. None of them realize that on some papers there is a gray pencil line in each upper right corner, in exactly the same place on every paper. And on another stack of papers there is a similar red line in each lower left corner. They thought nothing of Spider writing his name on every piece of paper, assuming it was a habit he picked up from school.

And no one notices that some of the gray layout lines are thicker than the others, as if Spider pressed harder with his pencil and sketched over the same line several times.

If they had realized this, and if they had been smarter, they might have remembered to hold the papers in front of the window, in the sunlight, or in front of a lamp. If they had done that, they might have realized that Lyle was right, Spider had indeed created a secret message.

You see, if you stack the different papers on top of each other, making sure the gray lines line up in the top right corner and another stack with the red lines in the bottom left corner, you'll see Spider's secret message in the bold outlined layout:

That was Spider's secret message. He has secretly learned everyone's full names and incorporated them into the secret message, hoping that the people who find his outlined mazes will discover the way to read his secret message and know who his father's accomplices are.

Spider sighs as his father pulls him away from his secret task and says they are sitting down for dinner. Spider reluctantly stands up and Lyle grabs his shoulder and pushes him into the chair to the right of the head of the table, where Quaritch is sitting, before sitting down in the chair next to Spider. Lyle looks at him again with a creepy grin. Spider looks away uncomfortably and focuses his attention on the pan being placed on the table. Tonight's dish, Ravioli, is one of Spider's favorites, his brain automatically remembers the corresponding facts. 'Ravioli is a type of pasta consisting of a filling covered with thin pasta dough. Usually served in broth or with a sauce, they originated as a traditional dish in Italian cuisine. Ravioli are usually square, although other shapes are used, including round and semi-circular.'

Spider is abruptly taken out of his thoughts when Lopez starts cursing colorfully. "What's wrong again?" Mansk asks irritably, raising an eyebrow over his sunglasses. “I lost my fucking wedding ring,” Lopez curses. “Oh shit, I'll help you look,” say Fike and Brown. Everyone stands up and starts looking for the ring. It is a beautiful ring, made of gold, the outside is smooth, but on the inside a date and two names are engraved. Spider knows this because the missing ring is currently in Spider's pocket. He couldn't help it, he saw the ring on the counter this morning at breakfast and before anyone knew it, the ring was in his pocket. Spider is surprised that it took almost a whole day for Lopez to realize it.

"Wait a minute, my watch is gone," Mansk realizes. 'Yeah, duh,' Spider thinks. 'It's in the drawer of my bedside table.' “What's going on here?" Lyle asks, irritated. "Yeah, what's going on here?" Fike adds. "That's what I just said, dipshit," Lyle sighs. "No, I mean that," Fike points to Brown. “What?” the latter asks, confused. “Where is your cap and since when do you have curls?”

"WHAT!" Brown exclaims, his hands flying to his head. “Damn Brown, what kind of conditioner are you using?” Z-dog asks with a grin. “Yeah man, your curls look so soft, you really need to tell me your hair care routine,” Walker adds with a laugh.

"That's enough, eat first, before it gets cold," orders Quaritch, "after dinner you can run around like headless chickens." "Yes, dad," Lyle snorts sarcastically.

Everyone sits down at the table and starts eating. Spider can't stand the silence and blurts out, "Did you know that farting is good for high blood pressure?" Spider thought he was being stared at strangely before, but now everyone is staring at him like he has an extra eye. "What?" Zhang chokes out. "Nothing," Spider mumbles, embarrassed. "Right," he gets in response, after which everyone focuses back on their food.

"Did you know that Anatidaephobia is real? It's the fear of a duck staring at you." Spider blurts out again. He gets the same strange looks again and he cowers in shame. "Okay?" Warren replied confused. And once again everyone turns their attention back to their food, but this time they keep giving him strange looks.

Spider can cry because he feels alone and ridiculed and at the same time scream that he feels uncomfortable.

Once again he tries to start a conversation. "People and bananas have 50% the same DNA." he states. He does not dare to look up from his plate, for fear of the reactions of his captors and that they will see the tears in his eyes.

“For God's sake, be social, join in conversations,” Quaritch snaps angrily. Spider's tears roll down his cheeks as he hears his father's angry voice directed at him. He risks a look through his curls and sees everyone looking at him. 'Sure,' he thinks to himself, 'they probably enjoy seeing the boss' annoying child get snubbed.' Spider starts to get up to run upstairs so no one sees his tears, when Lyle's hand lands on his shoulder, more tender than he's ever seen Lyle. Lyle pushes him back into his chair.

"Are you trying to tell me I'm a banana?!" he asks, offended.

(Splitting it up into sections because I want to try and contain myself from rambling nonstop for five straight minutes)

DESIGN EXPLANATION/BREAKDOWN

Sean Connery - A friend of mine did most of the design, I added the bottom half, the gun, the colours and a couple of motifs. I chose Thunderball as the film of focus because my friend mentioned his swimsuit was traumatising, and also because it’s the film with the jetpack in it. Generally focused on circular shapes and tear shapes because y’know… water. He’s orange because of the orange swimsuit that my friend called out lmao. And the flower on the neck bow is supposed to look like the one from the iconic white dinner suit that I tend to default to drawing Sean Connery Bond in because when he isn’t in dinner suits his dress sense is generally not as fun as I would like. The gun is based on the one from the James Bond image. You know the one.

I put simultaneously not enough thought and too much thought into this Jesus Christ. I think he’d have some sort of jetpack power-up or something. George Lazenby - He only did one film, so that did limit sources of inspiration. Fortunately, OHMSS is my favourite Bond film because everything about it is earnest and completely insane. I had to include his bowler hat from the intro because it was amazing and not enough Bonds wear hats, so he’d at least look distinctive. It’s set in an icy location for most of it, so that’s where most of the theming came from, the colour, etc; the diamond motif might have suited Sean Connery better all things considered but too late now. I took some costuming inspiration from his kilt outfit because it was strange and iconic and I think all Bonds should be made to wear it. He only really has one promo shot with a gun so I had to give the position of tiny gun guy to George Lazenby. He wields it well.

Roger Moore - I kinda just took the fact that he was the first Bond in space and ran with it. Used stars as a motif, etc. Particular inspiration was taken from this outfit:

And partial inspiration from his weird marine navy commander-style getup (for the shawl thing). It was legitimately way too hard to find a gun that wouldn’t accidentally cross over with a gun from another Bond so I picked the most Seventies gun I could possibly find for inspiration assuming that no other Bonds would ever use something similar. The upper body pose as usual is directly from the reference image. I felt like if I put all the Bonds in skirts, it’d get a bit repetitive and start looking bad, so I figured if any Bond was going to get trousers it would have to be the one that actually wore flares.

CHARACTER EXPLANATION/BREAKDOWN

Basically just how I’d pitch the three Bonds I’ve done so far if they were a group dynamic instead of solo iterations. Gonna do it in bullet points so it’s more comprehensible. (I don’t have any rhyme, reason or lore for this. It’s literally just me assigning three Bonds distinct personalities).

Sean Connery:

The group leader/group elder/tired old man

He can still be a slut if that’s what you want but minus the creepiness. Mutual engagement in passive flings? No problems with that.

Seen so much shit that he’s sorta nonchalant about everything and believes he’s overqualified for just about anything he’s asked to do.

✨War trauma✨

Suaveness and charm level 100. He’s a crabby old man most of the time but he’s so charming that the group let him get away with it.

He’s desensitised to like, literally everything. He will not hesitate to kill a man in cold blood if the situation demands it.

Pretty much believes that human beings are fundamentally bad, himself included.

Ultimately the one that’s willing to make the hard calls.

George Lazenby:

Like his actor before him he is the least qualified and probably lied to get into the secret service.

Optimistic, perceived as naive, ready to try and fight the narrative to change his fate.

The group child (and the youngest).

Quit the secret service after his new wife was assassinated on their wedding day and only comes back because shit has hit the fan (plot reasons. I don’t have a plot, I’m just speaking as if I’m pitching a TV show).

Doomed By The Narrative™️

Ridiculed or forgotten by everyone except the other Bonds

Sean Connery’s Bond respects him a great deal and secretly envies his more idealistic worldview, but won’t let him make the tough calls because he sees him as too naive and too unstable (willing to risk everything)

Roger Moore’s Bond HAS adopted him.

Roger Moore:

Literally feral

Master of British understatement (“Oh. That’s a bit of a shame.” as the world is literally ending around him)

He’s besties with Sean Connery’s Bond as the other sort of group elder

Despite how manic and wired he appears, he is terrifyingly competent and capable of being very serious

Team leader when Connery’s Bond is out of action

Dad figure. Not just to the other Bonds, but as a default personality. He will go parent mode on anyone he thinks he’s capable of saving.

Although if he doesn’t think you’re saveable he will not hesitate to shoot on sight if he runs out of options.

As far as ideas for the other three, Timothy Dalton is going to look evil and edgy but he’s just an enthusiastic dork and Daniel Craig is a stone cold killer with trust issues draped in bright pink bows. I haven’t seen any Pierce Brosnan movies so far so I might just have to vibe check him based on plot synopsis.

Closing thoughts? I want my brain removed and replaced with a better one. I’m sorry for everything you have witnessed today.

Also, these are based exclusively on the movies and not the books. I’m more digging into what makes each actor and era special and distinct.

You know what? Screw you! *Spidermans your Armin*

I will now proceed to make a long ass essay of how i maded him because i want to.

Alright, so, i started with Armin's last name.

I looked for it's origin and apparently is old Germany and Anglo-Saxon, i kinda of decided for him to be from German at the end. Then i used that to look for the typical spiders of the country or at least the most normal types to be founded!

I ended up choosing the Zebra Jumper.

And thanks to their descriptions, i started the process to create the Spidersona of Armin.

As their name states, Zebra Jumpers are able to jump 5 times their bodies, and also they don't use spiderweb as a hunting technique that much.

Usually, Spiderman is unable to make spiderweb by himself, so he creates a spiderweb launcher to be able to move around the city.

And i thought it suits Armin to try and build some "machinery" to help him as well! Mostly because it has been shown that he has a certain interest on mechanics/engineering (Helping Marco to fix his ODM, helping Hange to make the thunder spears, etc) And also applying the fact that the spider that bit him was a jumper type, it would add to his natural abilities.

He can stick to walls (like a normal spiderman), heals pretty quickly, and all that jazz, but also has the ability to jump way more high than a average human (Around 60 meters or 197 ft because it would be a fun wink to his colossal titan of the og show/manga).

And with that, he creates his own spiderweb to function like a hook and be able to move around the buildings easily and at high speed. The belts around his body not only work as a reference to the original uniform from the manga/show, but also to help him to stay stable when he moves around the city.

Other thing i added is his pilot hat, it was only seen on official art from the show where he is depicted as a engineer (again) and as a "plane pilot"

The colors are red brownish because of his colossal (in the show) and of the actual spider (the brown). And the white is mostly to have a contrast, and the spider as well!

Extra things ig

• Eren is an absolute fan of Spiderman and only gets Armin flustered for all his compliments and merchandise that he boughts.

• Also, Armin can't lie to Eren and Mikasa, so is harder to be around them sometimes.

• I had the idea to be not only his grandfather's death his "canon event" but also that Erwin died and he was saved in his place as well, maybe Erwin was a mentor figure or something, i am not sure.

• I thought of Annie might be like the Gwen Stacy of his world, which of course, ends badly. Also, Eren as his MJ because ✨ Eremin ✨

Undead Girl Murder Farce Episode 6: The Phantom Thief and The Detective

Forget aging like fine wine, Undead Girl Murder Farce is evolving right in front of our eyes. With each step, each frame it changes shape and form, molding itself into what it desires in that exact moment. Transitioning from comedy to cunning, creativity to combat at the drop of a hat and making it an effortless transformation at that. An endlessly impressive feat that only grows in ability and nature as time marches onward. I absolutely can't get enough of it.

I mean, they start the episode with Tsugaru and Shizuku misplacing Aya's head. The detective that's supposed to go toe-to-toe with the greats of France and England respectively is accidentally replaced by a parrot of all things. I feel like I have to scream from the rooftops how much I love this idea.

First and foremost, this is a farce.

It is a failure, a comically dumb mistake. And it's an expert idea. It embodies the nature of the characters, the fact that they're meant to be silly and weird and that they could never measure up to Holmes or Lupin in a battle (whether it be of brain, or brawn like we see later in the episode). I just love it. Aosaki completely sells out his characters in the mockery that he so desires. I'll say it one more time, I just love it. It's not cunning that brings the Cage User into contact with the Phantom Thief and Phantom of The Opera, it is pure chance due to the severity of their slipup. It's just so good.

Anyways, to Holmes and Lupin first. I loved this a lot as well, quite a lot, really. The idea of the two minds challenging one another so brazenly is such a fun idea, and I love how they do it.

Even better than that is that they don't hide anything from viewers. Right away (well on the first close up), you can see that "Sherlock's" eyes are a different color and feature a different style of pupil. Rather than the blue with rings that he usually sports, it's the plain yellow irises that denote Lupin's that are in his place.

Such a great and simple detail that I'm sure many could have easily missed. Another great piece was Watson's comment on the security of Fogg's mansion, which Lupin downplays. Sherlock made a disparate comment prior to that, which Lupin wouldn't have known about, so Watson is momentarily confused before Lupin steers the conversation away from it.

Also, super cool that Mycroft Holmes makes an appearance in the episode to immediately draw the curtain on Lupin's disguise. While he states it's the fingernails of Holmes (which are different than the prior episode, and are in line with Lupin's fingernails), I feel like another giveaway would be how Lupin refers to Mycroft. Though it's not like we have any way of confirming.

Moving on, this line in particular was an amazing tipoff to viewers as to what it was that Lupin was doing with his visit to Holmes.

Allow me to explain. There's two specific things that Lupin did during his visit that are fundamental to how both he and Sherlock Holmes approach this burglary.

One: The disguise. Lupin asserts the fact that he is a master of disguise, someone that can effortlessly mimic the presence and character of another person, that he can blend in with those around him.

Two: The lock. He shows to Holmes how easily he can open and intrude on the safety that a lock is meant to provide. That he can effortlessly access anything that is designed to keep him out.

So, what's the purpose of showing his hand? To provide misdirection. Lupin was never the one that was going to steal the Penultimate Night, it was Erik. Erik, who can blend into a crowd without a disguise. Erik, who is far more flexible and fluid than Lupin and can expose other ways to enter the Chamber of Additional Crimes. It's an incredible setup on a one-two punch that sees Lupin use the blistering intellect of Holmes against himself, and I think it's an incredibly good piece.

Arguably even better than that though is our trio coming into contact with them. As I said earlier, it was sheer chance, but they immediately use it to their benefit by encouraging a response from Lupin that gets him to expose his nature to Tsugaru in a fight. It's really, really, really great that they play Lupin exactly as Lupin played Holmes. Such an interesting relationship. Anyways, here's the fight with impressive choreography, color, conversation, and combat. Just entirely impeccable work that provides a style decidedly different (might I also add once more here) to all of our fight scenes to date.

And the icing on the cake? The sound of the Kabuki clappers, alongside the toll of Big Ben. The signal that tonight's farce has begun. I love the inclusion of this idea. Such a great auditory addition.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, Mycroft mentions Baritsu by name??? As in, the form of martial arts that was created by Sherlock Holmes in an Arthur Conan Doyle novel?? Incredibly cool to see how much detail Aosaki's put into the lives of infamous characters like these.

Of course, a story featuring Holmes and Watson and that whole entourage would feel imbalanced if Lupin didn't have his "buddy" appear as well. That is, the inspector Ganimard who is as close to Lupin's nemesis as you may reach. I should also add that the existence of Ganimard in this story makes the question of what it is that Lupin stole from the box even more interesting.

Anyways, the night begins, the detectives take their place in the Chamber of Additional Crimes. Aside from our trio of Aya, Shizuku, and Tsugaru. An interesting exclusion, but immediately we understand why.

An intruder appears from the North building, putting everyone on red alert. Holmes, of course, knows this is simply part of the play that Lupin's enacted, so he takes the necessary steps to ensure the curtains fall early on his performance. By shooting shut the doors.

From one chance meeting, and a single sentence relayed to the chamber, Lupin is able to trap his prey effortlessly. And from there, it's a race against time as water floods the chamber.

This episode seriously went by in the blink of an eye. The story and characters played their roles so perfectly that I was hardly paying attention to storyboarding or direction. It all meshed so effortlessly that it's near impossible to isolate one from the other. The storyboarding is influenced by the content of the episode, and is a reflection of that. They're two halves of a whole that are incomplete without one another, missing details and information that render our farce a failure instead.

I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens with the next episode as Lupin faces off against the "insurance" agency and our cage user. Insanely curious to see if he bares his fangs towards either, and if we get any confirmation of Erik's true nature (if there is one). Time and time again, Undead Girl Murder Farce delivers the episode of the week as if it was simply another Wednesday.

DSAF AU Ideas:

So sorry a new Phone Guy Dave AU section isn’t out yet, or more art (although I have decided generally what I want my Jack design to look like yey!). But being the bizarre AU obsessed being I am, I have decided to write out some ideas for AUs I might write or draw snippets of in the future. Warning, a lot of these are angsty because I’m an angsty fuck and I’m shit at fluff for the most part, and refuse to write smut. I come originally from Undertale, and you all should know how many AUs that Fandom had, it shaped my development in that regard, as I love AUs.

Severed Head AU: Like PG!Dave, this takes place in the DSAF bad route! After Jack leaves Dave repossesses his own severed head and goes on a magical adventure called spiralling depression because the love of his life just fucking murdered him in cold blood. This AU is basically angst porn, and thus if I did write it at all, it wouldn’t be as much as some of the others.

Child AU: So all the characters are kids! That’s kinda it. Oh yea, Fredbear’s doesn’t exist but Fazbender’s does, because they are separate things. David Miller was Jack’s friend and he recently died which is a major conflict. Dave, never having met Henry, still goes by William and lives on the streets of the fictional town the story takes place in. All characters except the previously mentioned David Miller are alive, and thus Jack is not orange because y’all seem to forget something that he isn’t, it’s just makeup he uses to hide his decomposition. The story will take place in the 80s so buckle in and expect it to be largely based on Stranger Things, because I was unfortunately not alive in the 80s. Dee is 7, Jack is 15, Dave/William is 15, David Miller was 13, Peter is 17, Steven is 17, Caroline in 17. This would be more in depth and plot based as well as my usual method for fanfics of make it up as I go, so you wouldn’t get very much very fast especially with school.

Rainworld AU: Seeing the fact I have recently posted a drawing of a slugcat, you may expect that I am indeed, into rainworld. This is a correct assumption. Jack would fill the role of the monk and Dee as the survivor because it makes sense in the context of the story that Jack is trying to find her plus monk is yellow so Jack being orange is not much of a stretch. Dave would be also a slugcat because I love slugcats, potentially a spearmaster, because they’re kinda purple and I think it would be interesting. However y’all would have to wait for me to finish the game and for the DLC to be out with the spearmaster. The story would feature little to no dialogue whatsoever, the characters would be referred to without names probably because slugcats don’t seem to have names as they don’t seem to be fully sapient so much as just highly intelligent with pack dynamics. Henry might be an iterator because it fits him better than a slugcat and from what I’ve heart of Five Pebbles despite not meeting the guy yet, yea he’s a Henry. Regardless I’d still try to get their personalities across as best I can with no dialogue nor names. Plus slugcats are fun and easy to draw and I’m going to draw more of them anyway so you’ll be likely to get plenty of art. Y’all probably don’t know Jack shit about what I’m saying here because no one knows this hidden gem of a game.

Story of M: Where I am now and how I got here, Part 3

Before I continue I got to say some things. When I first got in trouble at my job I was referred to a mental health clinic and was assessed for various conditions that could explain my problems (my employer did not suspect drugs for some reason). I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and was assigned a dedicated mental health nurse, K, who was an absolute angel. After my wake up call I confided to K about my drug use, and she literally walked with me to get specialized counseling. I'm not exaggerating when I say I owe her my life.

I had also started drawing again a couple of months prior and got positive feedback from my friends. Drawing became a major outlet during these difficult times.

On with the story…

The first month, which was october, was the worst. I had strong cravings, got 2-3 hours of sleep at night and was painfully aware of the fact that this was all my own doing. I was a nervous wreck. I went to work as usual (I was too ashamed to go on sick leave, felt like I didn't deserve it), but as soon as I got home and was alone with my thoughts… I don't have words for the absolute horror, guilt and shame I felt. I closed the blindfolds, turned off all the lights save for a small table lamp, played The Binding of Isaac for hours and even went to the bathroom in the dark because I couldn't bear to see myself in the mirror. Autumn was turning into winter so it got dark early, which I found oddly comforting as I was hiding in my small apartment. I dreaded going to sleep, knowing I would toss and turn for hours, only to wake up in the morning to live the same hell for another day. Sometimes I harmed myself. After telling K about my struggles she arranged an appointment with a psychiatrist, who got my meds in order. I refused any medications with potential for misuse and the doctor respected my wishes. After that I could sleep again.

The cravings persisted for a long time. After the first month I took a risky chance and did something I'm not yet comfortable sharing because it's a controversial topic and I don't want to give anyone ideas. After that the cravings were completely gone. I was still a nervous wreck, but at least I didn't feel the constant urge to snort chemicals.

Christmas came. I had gotten a little journal as a christmas gift for myself and began journaling my thoughts. I also met S for the first time. We exchanged numbers and began talking semi-regularly.

After New Year I was transferred back to my old department at my job, with a much better atmosphere. I was happy about it, although I was withdrawn and anxious because of my ongoing struggles. My daily life was pretty much the same with little to no signs of improvement. My journal, which was meant for light-hearted fun, is filled with despair and self-destructive thoughts. In spring I finally called things off with Shitty Boyfriend. From my perspective our relationship had died a long ago, but he thought differently and did not take this well at all. I practically lost my entire circle of friends because of him.

By summer I felt a little better, likely because I'm a summer person. I took walks in the nature, ate ice cream and and enjoyed other summer activities, by myself. I began saving money, but did not have a plan for them yet.

In autumn my employer gave news about a possible merger, which made me worry about my job security. That gave me an idea for the money I was saving: I would go back to school and get another degree. The next spring I applied to a school that happened to be in the same town S was living, and when school started we moved in together. We had a rocky start because of his drinking problem, but despite that I enjoyed my new life. School is so much fun when you're an adult.

After getting some distance to my old job I realized it was just too stressful for me. Even though it paid relatively well, in the end it was simply not worth my mental well-being. It felt sad leaving my amazing colleagues behind, but it was something I needed to do. So I got another degree and and soon found a new job.

This is where I am now.

Mas eu queria te perguntar, como você cria as comics, pois eu tenho planejamento de uma, mas é minha primeira vez, e bem... é melhor pedir dicas para quem está mais acostumado com isso. Pode responder em inglês se preferir.

To be fair, I don't know if you meant to ask like how I come up with ideas or how I draw the panels for the comics and such. So I'll try to answer both.

Coming up with Ideas:

Usually when I start a comic I think about it for some time, I come up with some scenes I'm my head first (and the basic "lore" for it if its an AU) and just have fun imagining different scenarios. Most of the time I take inspiration from other people's ideas or even my everyday experiences.

When its a long comic tho (SuAU, RoommatesAU, etc.) I prefer to write it on my phone. The dialog, describe the scene. It's not always that I can sit down and draw it, so I prefer to write it so I don't forget my ideas.

Drawing:

This is the most fun but also difficult part. My best advice is: have fun with it.

Try diferent angles, use as much reference as you want, take inspiration from other artists's comics and styles.

You don't have to make it perfect on the first try, that's why we make sketches. Sometimes I sketch 6 pages in a row and keep all of it, sometimes I change 70% of it. I love sketching, its a fun and quick way to put your ideas in the paper without having to worry if looks good or not.

When doing panels, pay close attention to what yours caracthers are doing. If they are waving in a panels the next one they should be in the middle putting their hand down. This helps the reader to not get lost on what is happening.

That's why I don't like to re-use panels, I feel like it takes the reader out of the story and make them remember "oh yeah, this is just a drawing."

Immersive Scene:

Another thing I love to do is incorporate simple day to day behaviors in the caracthers. I like to imagine my comics as just a bunch of screenshots. The action is happening and you're trying to take pictures of it. Think about how you and the people around you would act if put in the scenarios the caracther's you're drawing are.

Exemple: Two caracthers are having a conversation and one isn't paying attention. How do I show that to the reader? Maybe they have their head resting on their hand, looking away from the caracther who's speaking. Maybe they are playing with something or checking their phone.

Another thing I try to pay attention to is the background. Are the surroundings important to the story?

If yes, try to draw some background so the readers know where the caracthers are. Is it night or day? Are they inside or outside?

First Exemple: my roommates au comic, I wanted to introduce the audience to their apartment, so I'm made sure the FIRST panel was focused more on the background. Then some simpler panels after and the last one was to show their kitchen (that was covered in the first panel).

Second Exemple: My valentines day comic, I wanted to show that it was cold and they were outside but I didn't want to disctract people from Deku's face expressions and the fact that Shouto's jacket was too big for him. So I'm put light blue and white on the background and a bunch of snowflakes on top of everything else. It showed they were outside, it's was cold, and Deku's was tiny compared to his friend. I didn't have to draw an entire street for that, heck I didn't even draw panels on that one.

Painting:

Colors can add so much to your story. And it doesn't have to be lots of it either. Sometimes sticking with just one pallet can work to your advantage. It saves time and helps to convey the feeling you're going for.

It's a sad scene? Desaturated colors, mostly blues and purples.

A happy scene? Light yellows, greens and whites.

A warm, cozy scene? Light reds, yellows and oranges.

Watching some videos on color theory might help too, especially when doing shadows and stuff.

Fandom Ableism in the MCYT Community

One thing I’ve noticed about the MCYT (Dream SMP, specifically) community on both Tumblr and Twitter is that when informed of things that are ableist, or harmful to ND people, a lot of people ignore the post/tweet, derail it or actively fight against it.

“I’m ND so I can’t be ableist” is a common statement, which is blatantly untrue. Even I’ve used ableist terms and phrases before, without realising they were harmful. So as a neurodivergent person, with autism, BPD, depression/anxiety, dyslexia, psychosis & brain damage*: here’s some common ableist things both CCs and fandom say almost constantly**.

*note that not every neurodivergent person will agree with me on these, but these are commonly ableist things people have previously talked about online, and/or have been discussed between me and other neurodivergent friends. No minority can ever speak for the entire group.

**note that a lot of these are common outside the MCYT community as well, and that some of these are just considered societally acceptable. This isn’t okay, but it explains why a lot of people don’t recognise jokes or comments like these are wrong, and it means that it’s not a direct moral failing of people that they don’t immediately or directly recognise these comments as wrong.

Now, let’s get into the things you might not have realised are potentially ableist:

1. Use of “Psychopath/Psycho/Sociopath/Schizo” and other demeaning terms for people with mental illnesses as insults, or to describe characters who are considered villainous. Psychopath/Psycho/Sociopath are already terms that people with ASPD dislike using, even not as an insult, but using these terms to describe people or characters who you disagree with or see as villainous only contributes to the villainisation of people with ASPD and other mental illnesses. Using c!Dream as an example: Dream as a character is not confirmed to have any of these mental illnesses. He is, however, commonly labeled as psychotic/psychopathic, incapable of any kind of compassion.

He is also a character that fandom largely insists that nobody is allowed to sympathise with. This is a huge issue, and has hurt a lot of people, especially people with low empathy, or mental illnesses that cause them to relate to some of c!Dream’s actions (e.g. pulling away from all his friends, desperately grasping at straws to gain control of situations etc). Insisting that these characters are characters it’s impossible to sympathise with, all while calling them psychotic/psychopathic/sociopathic, is extremely harmful, and I hope this post draws attention to that.

Here’s another post that talks about that.

2. Use of the term “freak”, in general. As an insult, “freak” has been typically used to insult neurodivergent people, people with visible physical disabilities (ex. “freakshow”, and the term was reportedly created with the intent of insulting people with physical disabilities), or people who display any kind of abnormal/atypical social behaviour/physical aspects — people who are usually ND people who lack a diagnosis or people with physical disabilities. Recent usage has come to mean “people who do things that hurt other people”, but this is harmful as well; using words like “freak” or “weirdo” which mean “socially atypical behaviour” to refer to people who are actually doing things that hurt other people conflates the two, and often has a side effect of hurting disabled people who see it.

3. Calling ND ccs like Technoblade monotone/emotionless. While the term “monotone” isn’t ableist in and of itself, the fact that it’s being used against a neurodivergent man who emotes in a different way to neurotypical people rubs a lot of ND people the wrong way. I’ve partially discussed this here, in a tweet responding to a person who said that c!Technoblade, quote, “has no human capabilities like emotion for example”. This, however, is not something contained to c!Technoblade — one of the most common jokes in this fandom is how rare it is to hear emotion in Technoblade’s voice.

The issue with that is that neurodivergent people almost universally agree that Technoblade emotes perfectly fine, and, in fact, emotes more freely and clearly than a lot of others do. Hence, calling him monotone perpetuates the idea of ND people as emotionless/less able to be hurt/less expressive, which often hurts us. It also contributes to the dehumanisation of ND people — related to how ND symptoms are most often seen in robots or monsters in shows — and is generally extremely harmful, on top of being untrue.

4. Related to point 3: the infantilisation of ND ccs like Tubbo and Dream, usually paired with assigning “caretakers” of their friends, like Tommy and George. This is about the posts that spread like “omg, Tommy helps Tubbo with his dyslexia, that’s so cute” or “omg George is so patient with Dream, I could never sit through that” on videos of Dream vocally stimming because of his ADHD. This is another post that talks about this, but I wanted to talk more about why this is harmful here.

4a) With Tubbo’s dyslexia, from someone with dyslexia, it isn’t harmful to correct his spelling and move on. Personally, I think this is helpful — others will think it’s condescending, because not all ND people are the same — but as the above linked post mentions, this is not what Tubbo’s twitch chat does. This is not what the comments say. It’s all things about how it’s “so cute” that Tubbo can’t spell, how Tommy/Ranboo are “so patient” with correcting him. This is rooted in the need to constantly watch over ND people while acting like we can't live our lives without someone having us under constant vigilance. It feels like savior-complex ableism, like people are trying so hard to not be ableist that they spin back around to hurting us instead. And it feels like we are being treated like children. Like we are lesser than, and need to be monitored/watched over.

4b) Similarly to what people do with Tubbo, the comments on posts about Dream’s vocal stimming are often full of people calling George “patient” for “dealing with it”, or claiming they “wouldn’t be able to handle it”. This is inherently ableist. They’re praising George for basic human decency towards ND people, and claiming in the same breath that they wouldn’t be able to do that themselves. And then there’s these.

These comments infantilise Dream — claiming he “wouldn’t be able to stop/calm down” without George’s help, implying he’d “spiral out of control” or claiming “everyone is now my child”. It’s all related to the infantilisation of ND people, and the belief that without help/a caretaker we cannot take care of ourselves.

5. The way people treat ccs who likely have undiagnosed neurodivergencies, like Wilbur. Wilbur has openly admitted on stream before that his parents considered getting him an autism diagnosis. He also openly admits on stream that he has habits he doesn’t understand why he does, and hyperfixates on things for months at a time and doesn’t know why. Posts like this have gone around Tumblr, in which Wilbur displays blatantly ND traits.

And fandom generally calls him weird for expressing those traits. This video where he talks about eating sand because he likes the texture? That’s an ND trait. This video where he talks about his irrational hatred for anteaters? While mostly a joke, irrational hatred of something when you can’t explain/understand/articulate why is also a common ND trait. He spends 20 minutes during a Philza stream info-dumping about self-sustaining ecosystems (sharing the photo, because I think it’s really cool) and fandom begins calling them “Wilbur’s weird jars”. It’s demeaning to people who infodump, and as a ND person who hyperfixates and infodumps it’s really upsetting to see. It’s also upsetting to see other ND traits being called “weird” or “freaky” & made out to be soley some funny joke for NT people to laugh at us about.

Additionally: It’s strange to me that people think it’s okay to make fun of ND traits just because they know that or perceive that the person they’re making fun of is NT. It’s still making fun of ND traits. It’s still insulting ND people. It’s still ableist as hell. Why is it okay just because the person is NT?

6. Implying that c!Ranboo’s enderwalking is inherently violent. Ranboo has shown us time and time again that the enderwalk state isn’t a violent state. That the enderwalk state isn’t a seperate version of c!Ranboo that does horrific things. Why, then, is it so common to imply that Ranboo would be violent and hurt people why he’s enderwalking?

It comes back to the perception of c!Ranboo as a character with “two halves”, or as a character with DID. Ranboo has made it clear that his character does not have DID, but this headcanon about his character persists, and it persists in a way that is directly harmful to people with DID — and to people who dissociate or sleepwalk. We do not commit horrific acts while we dissociate, while we’re sleepwalking, because the majority of the time we’re just checked out, our body is on autopilot. Insinuating that we do is harmful. Insinuating that Ranboo has “another half” that’s inherently violent or evil is harmful to people with DID. I’m not going to ask you to stop writing these headcanons etc, but please consider the effect you have on people before you do.

7. Related to point 6: the perception of c!Ranboo as “soft” and “cute” and/or perfectly moral because of his canonical anxiety. This is really harmful, and comes once again from the infantilisation of disorders like anxiety and depression. Ranboo has made clear time and time again that his character isn’t moral, and in fact is extremely inconsistent. He’s portrayed his character as inconsistent, as someone who hurts his friends unintentionally and often due to his want to please everyone, and yet he’s constantly seen as “soft/pure/the only moral one” because of his anxiety causing to have repeated and consistent spirals on-screen. These spirals are not healthy. They don’t indicate his “perfect morals” or make him more moral than anyone else on the SMP. Please stop infantilising people with anxiety, it’s really hurtful.

8. Implying that c!Technoblade is inherently a violent person because of his voices. I’ll admit here: my hallucinations are visual. I do not get auditory hallucinations, and I cannot speak for people who do. But many people have spoken out about this, and discussed how talking about Technoblade as an inherently violent character because of his voices is harmful, and a stereotype of people with schizophrenia.

Technoblade’s character is, in and of itself, inherently a stereotype (despite the fact that his chat are more likely to be a supernatural entity than a symptom of a disorder such as schizophrenia) in that the idea of “hearing voices that encourage violence” is a stereotype of people with schizophrenia. As an actual symptom, is a very uncommon one. More common auditory hallucinations for people with schizophrenia or psychosis are, reportedly, whispers or unrelated conversation. One of my friends hears screaming.

But the issue is with the implication that c!Technoblade is “driven to violence” by the voices. Canonically, he has dealt with the “bloodlust” of chat by grinding withers. He’s perfectly capable of being peaceful, even with “voices pushing for violence”, and he’s perfectly capable of being violent without the “voices” influence. It’s the connotations and the history that fandom has in demonising and villainising c!Technoblade for even having the “voices” in the first place, and acting having them makes him inherently violent and unstable. There’s precedent for that already in society, and it’s not okay to perpetuate it.

[Edit: as of 22/05/2021, I do experience auditory hallucinations, and I can confirm that I am not any more violent, and the voices I hear don’t push me to violence. The clearest one just said ‘click’ in my ear.]

9. Jokes about brain damage and the use of “brainrot” as a term. I made a post about how common jokes about brain damage are here, and I would like to reiterate bits of it.

Jokes like these are really really normalized in modern society. I’m sure a lot of you didn’t even register it as wrong, and that isn’t a moral failing! It’s a norm in society, and that means the majority of people arent going to register it as something hurtful, because it’s said so often. But it does still hurt. The idea of using a disability as an insult is really harmful and it feels dehumanizing, like our disability makes us lesser, something that should be laughed at.

“Brainrot” as a term originated in Skyrim, as a disease that literally rotted your brain. However, as a term, it has very similar connotations to “brain damaged” and has been used in similarly joking and insulting ways. It’s something that feels really off to me and other neurodivergent people to see used by neurotypical people. It even sometimes feels uncomfortable when used by neurodivergent people, even if it’s used in positive ways. I know quite a few people who have removed it from their vocab completely because of the connotations, and I have personally done the same. Once again, I am just asking you to please consider your words before you use them.

10. Calling c!Wilbur during his Pogtopia Arc “Vilbur”. Yes, he was a villain. Yes, he hurt people. But c!Wilbur during the Pogtopia Arc only has one major difference from c!Wilbur during the L’Manburg Arc: a visible depiction of mental illness, specifically paranoia and psychosis. Treating him as a seperate person and calling that seperate person “Vilbur” comes across as extremely hurtful, and contributes to the villainisation of mentally ill people. His mental illness does not excuse him from hurting people, but calling c!Wilbur “Vilbur” upsets a lot of us, because wether or not it’s intended, it feels reductive, hurtful, and insulting.

Leaving aside the obvious typo in the subject, he clicks on it, hoping it doesn’t unleash a virus onto his computer. 

He’s instead greeted with a poorly Photoshopped picture of you at a bar with a martini in your hand. He doesn’t have to look too hard to see that the martini is, in fact, an emoji. Off to a terrible start already. 

Right beside it is an even worse image, an imitation of an early Internet chat box.

Harbinger of Doom just sent you a message! 

Come to the empty lot near lair. Bring goggles. 😩💦

Decline/Accept

He wants to strangle you.

“Why did you curse my eyes so early in the morning?” He spots you at the top of the lair, speaking loudly so that it hopefully reached you. 

“What?” you yell back down instead. “If you’re saying something, I can’t hear you.”

He rolls his eyes. He pulls his phone from his pocket and presses on your contact. 

He watches the look of confusion morph into one of slight surprise when you reach into your pocket and pull out your call.

“Don’t ever send an image like that to me again,” he says directly.

“If that one image is too much for you, how will we ever make our sex tape?”

His mouth opens and shuts like goddamn fish.

He can hear your laughter even without the phone.

“First of all- stop laughing- first of all, a sex tape is never going to happen. Second of all, I have a debriefing to go to, we need to make this quick.”

He holds up a finger when he sees you begin to say something. By the look of trouble painted all over your face, he knows it’s going to be a dumb innuendo. 

“Thirdly, why are you standing there?”

“I watched The Last Airbender,” you say once your cackling dies down.

“I like that show.” He did. Peter sometimes watched it when he came over and Bucky more often than not joined in.

“I know, you told me.”

Oh. 

“Okay, what now?” 

“Put your goggles on.” You take one step towards the ledge. 

“What are you doing?” The goggles don’t do anything to shield him from the sun, considering that they’re not tinted. Maybe he could invest in those.

You send him a smile, taking a step further. His walk towards the building turns into a jog, then a sprint when you’re basically standing on the edge.

You spread your arms out like Jesus Christ himself before flinging yourself off the building. His stomach drops.

His phone falls to the ground, discarded to the side as he sprints to break your landing. 

It never comes. 

Instead, a gust of wind smacks him in the face, forcing him a few steps backwards. 

“I am now an air bender.” your eyes shone. “Kind of.”

Just like that, the show was ruined.

He wipes the dust on from his glasses that he now understands why you made him wear. Considerate, for a person who nearly just gave him a heart attack. 

“Why.” It’s not even a question, just a statement. 

“You know how the Tower has a giant ‘A’ on the side?” 

He stares at you. 

“I‘m gonna spray paint ‘asshole’ on the side of it.”

Pepper would not like that. 

“That’s not even evil.”

“Yeah, but it’d annoy your super friends,” You do a flip midair, testing out the repulsors that were tied around your palms, “and I’m the voice of the people.”

You’re too high for him to reach. He doesn’t have his tools, or anything useful on him considering that he never had to use them before. He couldn’t even launch himself at you from the side of the building because you’d just move out of the way. He could jump really high but it would just have the same consequence.

He could talk and keep you distracted but that worked once, it wouldn’t again. At least not for long. 

Fuck, he really had only one option. 

He leaves you to do your somersaults and turns, walking over to where he dropped his phone. It’s an upgrade from the brick he was using a while ago, but not a high end Stark model. A smartphone, but barely.

He sighs, punching in the number and holding it up to his ear.

“Who are you calling?” you yell from above him. 

“Go back to your shitty aerobics,” he yells back.

You pause for a second. “Was that a fucking pun, James Bar-”

The dial tone ends when someone picks up. He diverts his attention back to the call.

“Hey man, I-

“No.”

“You didn’t even let me finish.”

“It’s probably something stupid,” Sam doesn’t even sound annoyed, just uninterested.

“I need your wings.”

“I was right. Bye.”

It was a long shot anyway.

“Fuckin’ hold on a second.” He sees you disintegrate a concrete block by having it drop from the air. “You come here and fix this, then. She’s air bending now.”

“...like Avatar?” Sam unsurprisingly got the reference. 

Peter’s interests were usually shared by everyone in the Tower, just because they had to compensate for the teasing he had to endure. It led to a lot of geeky documentaries and occasional musicals. Bucky wouldn’t be caught dead humming songs from Thoroughly Modern Millie under his breath. 

“Yeah.”

“You want me to come and fight your girlfriend,” he says slowly. 

“She’s not my girlfriend,” Bucky urges, “and yes, I need help. Can’t exactly reach her when she’s twenty feet above me.”

“We have a briefing in 30 minutes. Why did you even go there today?”

He doesn’t know how to answer that. Just looks up at you smacking one of the repulsors against your thigh when it sputters for a second. It’s tradition. 

“Well?” Bucky ignores his question.

“Fine,” Sam’s voice is distant for a second as he agrees. “Clint’s asking if he can come too.”

“Fuck no.” One of them was more than enough and Sam was way better at negotiation. 

He hears a faint profanity from who he assumed was Clint before the call cuts.

He takes a seat on the ground and waits.

“You’re not going to make any effort to stop me?” You have your arms pressed to your side, palms pointed downwards to keep you afloat.

 “I could just throw things at you again.” He makes a mention towards the small pebbles.

“I will fuck you up if you even try,” you warn. He lifts his arms in surrender. “So that’s it. You’re just going to sit there.”

“To be honest, I couldn’t care less if you painted the building,” he says with the least amount of interest he could muster, not that that was very hard.

“Do you not like your team?” 

“I do.” He isn’t lying. “But they’re little shits.”

“I can draw a couple of dicks on their window, no problem,” you say offhandedly.

He looks up at you through his fingers. “That won’t be required.”

Although it was appreciated. 

“Cool, so then I’m gonna go.” You make a mention of the utility belt on your waist. He looks at the many spray cans that decorate it. 

“What colour are you going with?” he interrupts quickly. Fuckin’ Sam. What was the point of wings if he couldn’t get here in 2 minutes?

“Red, probably.” You look down. “I got purple and white just in case.”

“Building’s dark, red is good.”

“You really don’t care, do you?” You lower yourself down to the ground, a few feet ahead of him. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing.” For fucks’ sake, Sam. “You really don’t like superheroes, do you?”

“I don’t have anything against them.”

“Then why do you do this every week?”

This was wading into personal territory and he did not like it. 

“Well.” Your eyebrows knit together. “Because I want to. It’s fun.”

“No other reason?”

“Do I need to have another reason?” You push your palm downwards, sending you back up into the air. “Can’t I just be evil because I want to?”

“Sure,” he says. He’s heard worse reasons. “Why not?”

“Besides, if you think I don’t like superheroes then you should meet Jake.”

“Who’s Jake?” He hadn’t ever heard you mention him before because he’d remember if you had.

“My roommate.” 

“I didn’t see him when I came over.”

“That’s because we’re not conjoined at the hip.” It takes you a second to stabilise. “Besides, he grabbed the water while I got the bracelet but he refused to come say hi.”

Bucky looked down at his wrist. It was still there. He found himself fidgeting with it more often than not.

“He hates superheroes?”

“He has a valid reason.” Your eyes widen in worry when your head suddenly dips. 

“What is it?” He knows the height at which you’re at isn’t very dangerous but if need be, he’s close by. 

“Come find out.” Your eyes shone mischievously. “But yeah, no reason for me to be evil.”

“Not even a tragic backstory?” 

“None. But if you want it, I can give you one, Barnes.” You test the waters, seeing how long you can lie horizontally. “Can’t promise you’ll like it though.”

“Try me.” He has time to kill. He’s a good listener.

“Well, it all started with my family- a troop of gorillas.” You flip over to lie on your back. “They practically raised me, they did. Until my gorilla mother died and I was all but consumed by grief and-”

“Your mother was a gorilla?” He entertains the notion. 

“Or was it my father?” you ask thoughtfully. “I don’t know, I don’t remember. Anyway, I met a-”

“Just to clarify, none of this is real, right?” he interjects. 

You stare at him. He stares at you.

“Bucky, that’s the plot of Tarzan,” you say slowly, “or at least whatever I remember of it... which I’m beginning to realise isn’t much.”

“Just clarifying.” He leans back again.

“Anyway so then when my mother, the deer-”

“Gorilla.”

“Whatever. Was killed, I escaped to some place-”

“Where?”

“Somewhere. And I stayed with these seven men-”

“Why seven?” He actually remembers watching this movie with his sister when it came out. An early memory, a bit faded. He remembers how long he saved up for the ticket.

“Because character development. And then I realised the reason my life was so weird was because there was a rat controlling me by pulling on my hair-”

“What the fuc-”

“If you ask any more questions, I’m going to stop.”

Bucky blinks at you. “So that’s your backstory.” 

“Raw and uncut, baby.”

“Just to get this straight, your mother, the gorilla deer-”

“Witch.”

“Huh?”

“She was a witch who stole my hair.”

“Wha-”

He’s interrupted by the giant shadow cast by something that flies overhead. 

Fucking finally. 

He doesn’t even have to look up. Sam does a small glide to the ground, landing gracefully beside him.

Bucky finds you speechless but straightened up from your earlier posture.

“Buck,” Sam greets him.

“Sam,” he says in return, getting up from his place. 

A grin spreads across your face. “Mr. Sam Wilson. No way.”

“You’re Y/N, I’m assuming?” Sam offers, posture relaxed. He clearly wasn’t here to fight. 

“The one and only.” You tear your eyes away from Sam to glare at Bucky. “Barnes, if you had told me we were expecting guests, I would have dressed better.”

Bucky furrows his eyebrows in suspicion at you. You’d dress up for Sam. 

You dressed up like a suburban tourist dad for him. He was feeling the offence incoming. 

“Can’t count on him to be useful in any situation.” Alright, he did not call Sam just to have the both of you team up against him. 

“Normally I’d agree with you but he did just invite you here, so...” you trail off, looking at Sam expectantly. 

What the shit.

Sam smirks. Bucky switches rapidly back and forth between the both of you.

“I see why Buck keeps coming back every week.” It doesn’t take long for him to catch on, enlisting a feeling of triumph from you. 

“I can’t see why he doesn’t just stay at home everyday if this is the view.” You gesture to him.

This is not what Bucky wanted.

“Okay,” Bucky interrupts, “what is going on here?”

“Pure chemistry, I’d say.” You’re half tempted to bite your lip to seal the deal.

“I agree.” Sam just nods, completely and utterly serious. 

You think that you’ll give him a gift basket just for playing along despite meeting you for the first time at that moment. 

“Get a room.” Bucky rolls his eyes.

“Maybe we will.” You tap your finger against your lip in thought. “How do you feel about Indian food, Sam?”

“Very positively.” 

Bucky grits his teeth. “If you’re not planning to spray paint the Tower, can you just hand over the repulsers so we can go home for the day?”

You let out a small tsk in disapproval. “See what I have to deal with?”

“Can’t imagine how you do it every weekend,” Sam says dryly, not wasting a second in replying. 

“Hello?” Bucky waves his arm around. “She’s the villain here.”

“Your face is the villain here.” You tear your eyes away from Sam only to glare at him. “He won’t even wear a cape. Why am I the only one who brings their A-Game every week?”

“Sam just get the damn-”

“You should wear a cape, man.” Bucky’s absolutely sure that even Sam knows it’s a ridiculous idea.

“I’m not wearing a fuckin’ cape,” he grumbles. 

“What are your thoughts on swords, then?” Your finger finds a place under your chin in deep contemplation. “You’d look great with a sword.”

Bucky buries his face in his palms. “Sam, for the love of God.” 

“Okay, alright.” Sam finally gives in with a small chuckle. He runs a few steps to get a small head start before launching himself into the air, whizzing past your levitating figure. He does a neat little flip midair before matching your height.

Showoff.

“How difficult are you gonna make this, Wilson?” you ask, a smirk on your face.

“Jesus Christ.” Bucky exhales, looking at the both of you through his goggles. 

“What’s your play here?” Sam calls out loudly.

“Was gonna spray paint ‘asshole’ on the side of the Tower.”

“After the ‘A’?”

“After the ‘A’,” you confirm. 

“Now that’s too small,” Sam tutted. “You gotta think bigger. Paint the whole Tower.” 

“Sam!” Bucky looks horrified. 

“Hmm.” You look like you’re considering it. “Don’t have enough paint for that though.”

“You’re an evil genius, right?” Sam casts a small glance at Bucky. “At least that’s what he tells me.”

“You talk about me?” You grin at the disgruntled man on the ground. 

“I don’t,” he mutters, shaking his head. A lie.

“Yeah, so build something,” Sam points out. “Get some more paint. I’ll even tell you the best vantage points to spill it.”

“No, he won’t,” Bucky shouts from below. 

“He’s just cranky because he didn’t get his prune juice this morning, ignore him,” Sam dismisses him.

Prune juice? He was a young 100, not ancient. 

“What’s your favourite colour, Falcon?”

“I like red.”

As annoyed as Bucky is right now, he stores that away in his memory for later. He also knows Sam loves seafood and a good pair of shoes. 

“A couple of gallons of red paint it is, then.” You lower yourself to the ground, Sam slowly follows suit until he lands beside Bucky.

“You know we can’t let you go without taking those, right?” Bucky tilts his head towards your invention.

You narrow your eyes at him. He doesn’t budge.

“I’ll tell ya what,” Sam pipes in instead. “I’ll keep them until you finish getting the paint and once you’re done, we’ll make an evening out of vandalising the Tower.” 

Bucky may not enjoy his company all that much but he admires Sam’s diplomacy. Of course, you would never make it this easy while reasoning with him.

“That a promise, Mr. Wilson?” You raise your eyebrow at him questioningly but are already in the process of removing the things from your hand. 

“Wouldn’t ever lie to you, doll.” He holds up his hand in a mock swear.

You walk towards Bucky and him, rotating your wrists to get rid of the soreness. “Bold claim for a man who met me ten minutes ago.”

“Feels like it’s been longer.” He sends you a wink and you can’t stop the laugh the escapes from you finally. 

Bucky holds his hand out for the gadgets. You shrink away from him with a click of your tongue.

“Technically, he takes this round.” You send a nod towards Sam, dropping off the repulsors into his hand. “So he gets it.”

Bucky rolls his eyes.

“You gonna keep ‘em safe?” you ask Sam, this time a little more earnestly. 

“Guard it with my life,” he says seriously, pressing his lips together in a line to avoid smiling. 

“You’re both ridiculous,” Bucky cuts in.

“You’re going to be late.” Sam tucks the devices into his pocket safely. “You know how Steve gets when people walk in on his speeches. Do you even have a ride?”

“Got the motorcycle.” 

“See you there.” Sam nods. 

“Save me a place,” Bucky says to him.

“No.” He doesn’t even hesitate. “Y/N. It was a pleasure.”

“Still holding you to that evening, Sam.” You send him a smile.

“I’m countin’ on it.” He gives you a small three finger salute before taking off, leaving you staring after his retracting figure. 

When the dust settles, Bucky awkwardly clears his throat. “Right. So that was that.”

“Dude,” you let out an exhale. “he’s so hot.”

He murmurs something unintelligible. It vaguely sounds like a series of threats but mostly a list of complaints.

“Don’t you have a meeting to get to?” You turn your attention back to him.

“Yeah.”

“Aren’t you going to be late?” You glance at the clock on your phone.

“I’ll just tell them I was on a mission.” Well, sort of. “Besides, what are they gonna do? Kick me out?”

“Fair enough.” You shrug. “Have a safe ride back.”

From what he knows of you and Sam, the both of you were kidding around. But he could never be too sure. He can’t even ask if you were serious about the entire thing because it’s none of his business. 

Were the implications of having his mortal nemesis and other mortal nemesis date important enough to overrule that? 

“Are you planning to skip your meeting, or?” you ask when he remains freezes in his spot, eyes glazed over like he’s thinking about something. “Because if you are, I know this great Thai place-”

“Don’t do that again,” he says instead, shaking his head to jolt him out of his thoughts. 

“What?”

“Flinging yourself off roofs like that.”

“Why?” Because it scared the hell out of him, for one.

“Just don’t.”

“Oh please, like you’ve never done dangerous shit like that before.” You narrow your eyes at him, reading his face. “Are you telling me you care about me?”

“No.” His nose twitches. “Just don’t throw yourself off buildings when I’m around.”

“What about when you’re not?”

“As long as I’m not there to witness it.” He shrugs, spinning on his heel to leave. Technically he preferred if you didn’t do things like that at all. 

“Fine. I’ll just have my clone try out all the dangerous stuff for me.”

 He stops in his tracks. “You have a clone?”

“Well,” You squint, “no. But I’m working on it.”

He scoffs, shaking his head. “Bye Y/N.”

“You know, it sounds an awful lot like you’re saying we’re friends.” Your whole demeanour changes and he already knows what’s coming.

“I never said that,” he argues vehemently. “All I said was that I can’t have your murder on my hands.”

“Thus implying that we’re friends. In a fucked up, enemies kind of way.” You positively beam at him. “Aw, Barnes, that’s adorable.”

Adorable? Adorable?

“I hate you.”

“I love you, too, bestie,” you gush, dumb grin on your face. “I’ll make us friendship rings next time. What are your thoughts on matching tattoos?”

He wants to cry.

By the time Sam walks into the meeting room, the session’s already begun. He shoots an apologetic look to a monologuing Steve before taking his place at the nearest chair available. 

Something sharp pokes his thigh. His wings are off and in the backpack beside him, but then he remembers your little inventions that were still in his pocket.

He tries not to make much of a noise while he pulls them out, giving them a look over to make sure they’re not broken.

“Watcha got there, Big Bird?” Tony asks lowly from beside him.

“Something that Barnes’ enemy made.” Sam holds it up slightly. 

“The one he’s been rendezvousing around town with every weekend?” 

“That’s her.” He’s about to put it in his backpack when Tony stops him.

“Pass that here for a second.” He recognises it immediately for what it is, interest piqued. 

Sam hands one of them over while he puts the other back in the bag. It’s a metallic circle, not bigger than Tony’s palm, with a thick leather strap to tie it around your palm.

“She made this?” 

“Why don’t you ask him?” Sam mentions towards Bucky who silently slips into the conference room, standing in the corner near the potted plant since there were no more chairs left.

“The balance has gotta be off on this thing,” he mutters to himself, wholly ignoring the brooding man standing in the corner like a Christmas tree.

“She seemed to be manoeuvring it fine,” Sam catches the eye of a lower ranking agent who makes the mistake of glaring at him for talking while the meeting was going on. A few seconds later the agent hastily looks away and doesn’t turn around for the rest of the hour. 

“Could be better.” He uses a much more intricate model for his suits, although this isn’t even half-bad for a homemade version. “Do you know how long she took to make this?”

“Buck says she comes up with a new one every week, so I’m guessing that long.” 

It had a few glitches but it was incredibly refined for a week’s worth of work.

“Interesting.” He gives it a quick overlook before handing it back to Sam who drops it into the bag.

He casts a swift glance at Bucky, noting how he wasn’t even paying attention to the meeting but rather to whatever he had tied around his metal wrist, fidgeting with it with his thumb. 

Tony has an idea. 

And that was generally bad news.
