I still miss all the old voice actors for d2 honestly. If Lance Reddick ever leaves, it may be the final straw for me lol

I'm gonna be 100% real with you in that this is an entirely earnest question and not meant to be me throwing shade or being obtuse in any way.
Osiris is Jewish? I missed this in lore somewhere probably?
Yep! In the opening cutscene to Curse of Osiris, Osiris briefly curses in a non-English language when trying to arrange the cubes. The language spoken is Hebrew! This is due to his voice actor, Oded Fehr, who is Jewish and from Israel and naturally speaks Hebrew. Here's my other post about it!
If it had been just his VA being Jewish, we could speculate about it, but Osiris speaking Hebrew is canon due to this cutscene; they let Oded say this and also kept the line in. This makes him Egyptian Jewish and canonically speaking at least three languages: English, Hebrew (cutscene) and Arabic (the word "sagira" is Arabic for "little one"). Here's also a link to the old Curse of Osiris reveal stream where the devs said that "really early on we made a commitment, we wanted to make sure he was Middle Eastern and he's actually even voiced by Oded Fehr." This shows that his heritage and little details surrounding him are very much relevant.
A lot of Destiny storytelling about heritage is told through names and languages as little details to pick up on. For example, Elsie Bray is very much heavily implied to be Muslim. Back with Beyond Light lore, we got a lot of details about the Bray family, including Sylvie Bray, the mother of Elsie, Willa and Alton. She was shown speaking English and French (+ a single Italian word), and Elsie was shown replying to her using French and the specifically Muslim term "inshallah" which is Arabic. This is repeated in Lightfall's Collector's Edition in Elsie's booklet, showing that Elsie followed the same faith as her mother, or at least honored it:
"Oh daughter," Mom squeezes me tight "You can't make them love you, inshallah. You have to let go."— The horror consumed her as easily as the Stasis. She felt like a frightened child cast loose in the wind. Alone. Every assertion of control met by a temper tantrum in the face of a hurricane…. "Inshallah." She half-remembered her mother's words, and let go.
Words hadn't saved her, or her mother's faith.
Adding this mostly to show how details about names and languages are used to tell us information without having to spell it out directly, but rather to add to the storytelling. This means that these details about Osiris aren't just random, or at least their outcome isn't, now that it's been allowed to become canon through one of the most important cutscenes.

Okay so we all remember the GlitchX VA games right? So Uzi got cast as an angsty cashier at a fast food place, and Elsie tried to use Freddy Fazbear's for the place of employment. Saberspark encouraged her to change it, but she kept it as a pizza restaurant.
Now here's the kicker. I work at a pizza restaurant.
I'M A HOSTESS AT A PIZZA PLACE. AND I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO STOP THINKING ABOUT THE MD CAST AT MY RESTAURANT. So for your reading pleasure:
Uzi - Hostess. She has a bit of an attitude with guests, but she's REALLY great at bussing, extremely reliable, and will put her foot down when a party gets rowdy with her.
N - Mainly a server, but takes pretty much any shift you give to him (largely because he struggles with the word "no"). Well liked among guests because he's just Adorable and tends to be super accommodating, but he Will cry if someone gets onto him too intensely.
V - Server and only takes hostess shifts on occasion. Knows how to act around her guests and is a super strong server, but you might wanna watch what you say to her during a big dinner rush,,,
J - Manager, also acts as a server sometimes. Honestly not much is different here, except take her ability to be two-faced and multiply it by TEN. One night I broke like 13 plates and cried bc I thought they were gonna take it out of my paycheck - my ACTUAL manager was super chill and reassured me "No, you didn't do it on purpose, obviously we're not gonna take it out of your pocket for one of your first months here." J however would have been absolutely pissed.
Doll - Could absolutely be a server, but for some reason refuses to train for it. REALLY good at putting on a pretty face for guests, but is largely still herself; pretty stoic, but in no way emotionless.
Lizzy - Server/Hostess. She's pretty 50/50 on what she works in a week, so she isn't exactly partial to either. Also good at playing nice with guests, even the ones who demand a seat despite a wait. In those situations she pulls out the "sweet voice/mean girl" power of hers to get away with Litrrally Anything because she Sounds sincere.
Thad - Server most of the time, is more partial to it because he can talk to more people for longer. He's super charismatic with his tables, but he gets stressed easily.
Khan is on dish pit and I haven't decided who cooks yet LMAO

Alright Hazbin Fandom. Let's talk about AI.
AI is always a grey area, especially with how new it is and how slow protections are to being instated.
I initially listened to "[character] sings [song]" type AI covers because to me it felt like auditory fanfiction, and it being character-specific and not person-specific gave it a level of distance. But fanfiction has specific legal protections where AI as of now does not. For example, you can't make money off of someone else's IP. There aren't solidly such protections for AI.
I never listened to covers involving Loona because I knew Erika Lindbeck has expressed not liking her voice used for AI. I stopped listening altogether because Amir Talai expressed he did not like the AI covers with his likeness and the majority was Alastor, so I stopped out of respect for him.
My mind also initially compared it to Vocaloids and other synth voices, but the difference is those voices were recorded for the purpose of writing and covering music. The actors knew what they were signing up for and were compensated.
There has been a major issue in the Hazbin fandom of not just AI covers, but using AI to speak as characters and making money off of it, with the express DISAPPROVAL of the voices they're stealing. And this is NOT OKAY. That is so many levels of theft and disrespect it's astonishing.
Look, you aren't evil if you've ever enjoyed an AI cover. I know a lot of us have seen and enjoyed the AI cover of "Your Stupid Face". But you should be aware, from here on out, that as long as you are using AI for this purpose, especially if you're posting it, even more if you are making money off of it, that is both not okay and could also get you sued.
I'm not joking.
Tumblr media
Stop supporting the use of AI voices, at least until there are proper protections in place. Do not make and share them. Do not listen to them. Report them if you can.
And if you REALLY love the "[character] sings [song]" type covers, support people who actually sing as the characters!!! Fan songs and fan covers are usually much better quality anyways, and you're supporting actual artists!
I'll even give you some to start you off.
Silva Hound writes music for Hellaverse projects now, but they also did fansongs (and Addict) between the pilot and series. "Radio Play" is a personal favorite of mine I listened to on repeat, but other bangers include "Royal Flush" (with Mick Lauer, Husk's OG VA), Redemption Arc (with Elsie Lovelock, Charlie's OG VA), and Vox's Interlude.
PARANOiD DJ is THE guy for this stuff. He made a bunch of old fan songs and a couple of covers himself, and has also made songs WITH cast members, Krystal LaPorte, Edward Bosco, and Michael Kovach. I'm sure you've heard "Smile Like You Mean It" and "Use Me Up" and the Angel & Vox version of "Valentino". That's this guy. And there's so much more. Seriously, check this guy out.
MilkkyMelodies isn't usually my taste, but she's pretty prolific atm and she's done quite a few fansongs, some of which are other character rewrites of songs from the show, like Stayed Gone for Lute and Lilith, Hell's Greatest Mom for Lilith and Rosie, Poison for Emily, Respectless for Vaggie and Lute, there's a lot. She's one to give a try at the very least.
Caleb Hyles does mostly rock/metal versions of songs, but he's also made some fansongs and fancovers. He wrote "Wash it Clean", a Lucifer song, he's covered Karma (that Jojo Siwa song that has no right to be as funky as it is) as Angel Dust, and he and a few others did a Hazbin version of "Hell's Coming With Me", that big Poor Man's Poison song that was everywhere, yknow "I am the righteous hand of God and I am the Devil that you forgot" that one.
McGwire has a few fan songs, though I admittedly have only listened to one, but that one is a fucking BANGER and it's "Welcome to Hell", a Husk song. It's SO GOOD.
And there's probably more but this post is already long.
But THESE are the people you should be supporting, not people stealing other people's voices.
And hey, if none of this gets through? Have you seen The Little Mermaid? Remember, no matter how fab she was, Ursula was the villain. And even she had the owner of the voice she stole sign a contract. None of yall have contracts with these actors and no right to their voices.
Feel free to reblog with any other fan artists you may know so we can get them more traction and support than people who don't know what boundaries are.

Schmicago is Over and Done... so here are my thoughts on all of it (extra long post)
Episode 1: Welcome to Schmicago
In all honesty, I was fully prepared not to like this season bc I’m really not (or at least was not) that into this era of musicals, but all I needed was the start of Welcome to Schmicago and I was so completely in. Thank you to all the geniuses who made it possible.
No but… the second time round that the word ‘farrago’ comes up in the lyrics of the episode’s title song, I well, I was literally thinking ‘what the hey’s a farrago’, and the Narrator says ‘look it up’ — it’s like they’re reading the viewer’s thoughts. I love it. That’s the self-aware humour I’ve come for. Also, I did look it up and farrago means a confused mixture. I like it. It fits.
This is killing me (in the best way) — when they say ‘endings that are tragic’, the Narrator holds up a strand of Melissa’s hair. I love the double meaning.
I love love love this! At one point you can clearly hear Kristin Chenoweth saying ‘peas and carrots, peas and carrots’, and Josh and Melissa are like ‘Please don’t talk all at once, we can’t understand you’. Love that bit of theatre inside humour.
‘Do you have a cigarette, darling, I’m simply desperate’… what an introduction to Dove’s new character, Jenny Banks. Or, as I immediately dubbed her when I saw her, Liza Jr. I feel like I’m going to like her.
‘Fifty’s not that old’ — this coming, of course, from Keegan-Michael Key, who is 52 in real life. And ain’t he living proof of it, too.
I am loving Does That Shock You (I assume that’s the name of the song) [It’s Do We Shock You, actually, but there was no way for me to know that back when the episode aired, now was there?] — it’s like, ‘look, there’s a man and he’s wearing a dress’, ‘I like both boys and girls’, and, most hilariously, ‘I’ve experienced an orgasm. A female one.’ Goodness, this doesn’t shock me or Josh and Melissa, but it sure as the stars would render the people of Schmigadoon catatonic. And I love that, for some reason.
No but the cabaret girls… Annie, Kate, Molly, Tessie, Pepper, Duffy and Elsie. Like… a certain bunch of orphan girls from the same time period as all musicals referenced here take place. Plus Cabaret’s Elsie, of course. That’s basically as if… the girls grew up to become showgirls, which actually isn’t too far-fetched. And Ariana DeBose as the EmCee is slaying it. I love all of this. And Ann Harada is Madam Frau. Lady Lady. Cool! I love it.
‘My true passion is power [dramatic pause]… electricity’ I love love love all of this.
And Jenny Banks does a Cabaret-style number with chairography a la Mein Herr. Which is funny because Dove is just one of a whole bunch of people in this cast who would do (or, in certain cases, have done) a killer Mein Herr. Either way, I just know this will be one of my most replayed songs once the soundtrack comes out. When is that, btw? [That was yesterday, and I can fully attest to the above prediction being true.]
This number isn’t even subtle about what it’s doing. About as subtle as Va-Gi-Na or the Coming Out Reprise were last season ‘We’ve had a fine affair, but please get out of mein hair.’ I love this more than words can say.
Episode 2: Doorway to Where
The Narrator is just everything… ‘schmigadee-death… penalty’, anyone? Lovely.
Ahhh we’ve got Aaron!! That man’s voice makes me swoon in a way I didn’t think was possible to someone of my… identity. If you get what I’m trying to say. [What I’m trying to say is I’m aroace, but I do have a thing for voices, and for unconventionally attractive faces, except the latter isn’t relevant in very conventionally attractive Aaron’s case. He’s all voice to me. He could sing the phone book and I’d be done for.]
No but… his solo once again mentions squirrels and robins, and I’ve got to wonder why… like, is it just a reference to You Can’t Tame Me (my beloved), or is there something else? But also, his new character, Topher, strikes me as the only one who hasn’t changed quite as much — he’s once again a free spirit singing about squirrels and robins and wow, this is just utterly self-referential, isn’t it? I love that.
‘Please. Mr Flanagan was my father… after he lost his medical license.’ I love that. And I’m going to love Jane Krakowski’s character in this, I feel like. ‘First we court the press, then I press the court.’ I adore sentences like that. Sue me. But only with Bobby Flanagan as my solicitor.
Ok, so this one I caught. Melissa’s showgirl audition is set to a number evoking I Hope I Get It from A Chorus Line. Good going, me!
‘Dad was in the military. You know, the type with a whistle. He used to force my brothers, sisters and me to perform for guests at dinner parties. God, I hated when he did that.’ I see you, Sound of Music. I see you clear and bright. ‘So this one night I begged him for a taste of champagne’… ok, so you’re Liesl, are you? Well, funny, because all I can think of is Cecily as Liesl in that one SNL sketch with John Mulaney.
Ok but when Melissa meets Topher, she’s like ‘You look… groovy’, and I was like, his ‘pants’ are not really high-waisted in this one, though. But there’s a good chance he’s both high and wasted at any given time. I mean, so I imagine, he’s a hippie. Not to stereotype people, but hey, everyone is a walking steretype here.
When Topher’s buddies come to bust him and Josh out of jail on the happiness bus, Josh is like ‘it’s literal? I thought it was a metaphor.’ To which I say… ‘It’s not a metaphor, oh no, it’s something more — it’s a literal bus’. How’s that for a reference?
Episode 3: Bells and Whistles
Ok we’re on to episode 3 and… ‘ Rizzo, ChaCha, Doodie/ Zuko and Kenickie’… why, hello Grease! I didn’t quite expect you there, but of course that was a mistake. And also, in a number starring Danny Bailey/Zuko Aaron Tveit himself, no less.
I see you, Miss Kristin Hannigan! And I’m loving it. Mrs Lovett x Miss Hannigan has never made so much sense before. Add in some Mme Thenardier for good measure, and you’ve got the ultimate composite character.
No, I swear, between Kristin and Alan, this is giving me huge Thenardier vibes, even if it’s actually meant to be a homage to Sweeney Todd, I believe. I’m loving it either way.
Ok, so… Alan’s character, Butcher Dooley Blight, is Jenny’s father here. I love it. But oh wow, this got really bloody and dark and gory really fast.
This might as well be one of my favourite courtroom scenes. I mean, ‘On the grounds of Brooklyn’ is still my go-to, but Bells and Whistles, and Fosse jazz hands are truly something else.
‘Why am I flanked by fools’ is the new ‘I’m surrounded by idiots’, and I love it. No but, his song is actually about wanting love from women who don’t want him. He’s giving Phantom. And, oh gosh, the resounding bass note it ends on… almost more impressive than a high note.
Episode 4: Something Real
Well, it’s true that Dove and Aaron are, in my humblest of opinions, the two people whose characters from this season and the previous one are most alike — I mean, she’s a cheerful girl whose cluelessness may or may not be (and in this one definitely is) just an act and whose father would kill for her sake, and he’s a free spirit who sings about robins and squirrels (even though Danny’s ‘pants are really high-waisted’ whereas Topher would rather forgo any trousers at all because ‘flowers don’t wear pants’... which I think is a valid choice, wanting to emulate a flower. Go for it) — so, in a way, what I called has very much come to pass. Now how this is going to turn out by the end is a whole other matter, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Also, here’s a post I made the day the s1 finale came out, and... I was a bit blindsided, but I had the spirit:
Tumblr media
Ok so the Narrator may be a bit of an arse to Mel and Josh, but I love him. I want Tituss Burgess to narrate every show in song.
Topher, arriving at the junkyard: ‘The prodigal son has returned. Someone write that down.’ The Fansie in me, knocking over about three walls at once: ‘I got a pencil!’
S1 Josh: ‘I’m not singing if you’re not singing.’ S2 Josh: ‘Talk to Daddy, talk, talk to Daddy’… now that’s what I call character growth. And that aside, this is just such a fun number. I can see myself listening to it on repeat once the soundtrack drops (which I need now btw). [Ah, yes, the ‘I’m not having an argument that’s part of a musical number’ to ‘I am not a man of many words’ to ‘Talk to Daddy’ pipeline. We stan.]
Whoever decided to pair up Dove and Aaron for a duet is a freaking genius. I need to know who that was so I can send them flowers to thank them for this vocal match made in heaven.
‘More romance’? If there’s one thing I don’t like about Schmigadoon/Schmicago, and it’s just this tiny little thing, really, but… it’s that it seems to emphasise romance as the ultimate solution, the single bringer of happiness. Only, I suppose, it will end up subverting that by the end of the season. Which would be nice if it does, indeed, happen. [Well... not exactly. But next season maybe... hope springs eternal.]
Ok, a scene centring around Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming together in any sort of context is always welcome, but I’m just a bit too distracted by Dooley eating his mash using his cleaver as a spoon. It’s too funny!
No but the way he said ‘Life is just a pile of shit’… it spoke to my soul… somehow.
I have never, ever in my life laughed at the sight of someone openly discussing making children into meat, but if anyone can sell such a number, why, it’s those two. Marvellously morbid.
I hear you, ‘It’s a Hard-Knock Life’. I hear you loud and clear. Or should I say… It’s a Hard-Knock-off Life… ight I’ll see myself out. But who would have thought that mixing Annie with Sweeney Todd (and a sprinkle of Oliver!) would make such a delightfully dark and scrumptiously sinister song? Also, those tap-dancing children are so amazing! I wish we would get more than a number per season from them, but I always take what I can get. [This is another contender, along with Kaput and Talk to Daddy and Bells and Whistles, for my May Top Tracks on Spotify... what will end up happening remains to be seen, but the number of times I’ve looped those just since they were released there yesterday is already large enough to put them all in the top 20 if not the top 10.]
So this now marks two different songs I know where ‘scrumptious’ is rhymed with ‘presumptuous’ (Truly Scrumptious from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, of course, being the first), and in neither of those songs do these words sound like they should rhyme. This must be what Mel meant by that comment about imperfect rhymes, you know.
Doesn’t this just go to prove that you could sell infanticide to me if it’s accompanied by a musical number, and I’d eat it up with a spoon, or even a cleaver if I had one handy… what does that say about me, I wonder…
Episode 5: Famous as Hell
Cecily is such a star! (hey, nice alliterative phrase there) But for real, she is. Also, is this supposed to be Maybe This Time? I’ll know for sure once I watch the Schmeakdown, but I think it is, if not intertwined with something else as well.
Ok but the tribe seems to have imprinted on Josh like a bunch of baby ducklings. He’s their mama now. I love that.
I’m thinking the Narrator’s name should change to the Instigator. Love that for him.
‘Another damn rhetorical question’ might just be funnier than ‘Schmigadee-death penalty’. Either way, I love Tituss Burgess and what he does as the Narrator, or the Instigator if you will.
Ooh… I love this. Famous As Hell seems to be the sort of number which references everybody’s themes, and I love that in a number.
Ok so nobody should be subjected to 12-show day, but, like, as an obsessed fan I’d be there all day for it. Still, don’t make people perform until they bleed. Then again, this is Schmicago, so…
Wait a sec… so that’s what ‘substitutes become expedient’ meant? Not just the obvious ‘children-for-animals’ substitute, but ‘orphans-for-Kratt’. Well. I’m thinking Kratt wouldn’t make a very desirable load of sausages, though. Oh, great, now I’m considering it. I’m in so deep I’m losing awareness of how gory this all is.
Are those the twins who played the white-faced women in ASOUE, playing another pair of white-faced women? Why yes, it is them, Jacqueline and Joyce Robbins. Nice.
Ooh… ‘You’ve been getting my roses? — Moses supposes I have.’ I loved that. I’ve been wondering if Singing in the Rain could make it into the farrago, and it seems like it has.
Ok, now Kratt is definitely Phantom. Kidnapping Mel just after she’s become a star on stage and essentially going like, ‘you marry me or the man you love dies’. Also, what kind of a cliffhanger was this? I’m dying. How on earth will I make it to the finale? And there are so many knots to be untied, too many loose ends to be tied up… that’s an ambitious setup for the finale. [It was, indeed. Bit of a rush to untangle and tie up everything, it really was, but I loved it nonetheless.]
Episode 6: Over and Done
Ahhhh Ariana DeBose solo at last!! I’ve missed that so much. And a Dreamgirls solo at that! I found she was really underutilised this season, which sucks because she’s a queen, but is also completely understandable because there were so many plotlines even without her being at the forefront. Still though…
‘I shut down a dream ballet, I will shut down this’ Yes Mel, be in control of the narrative devices even if you can’t control the narrative… that is so poetic in its way. I love it.
Idk how I came to this thought, but Sgt. Rivera upon being told he has to kill Josh is giving the huntsman from Snow White. Can’t say I love that for him because it’s a really tight spot to be in, but his reaction is still one of my favourite moments.
Ok but like… is Ms. Codwell reluctant to let the orphans be killed now? What exactly was it that made her change her mind? And also, these poor kids are so death-happy, I can’t even begin to comprehend the black comedy of it all. It’s not even black comedy anymore, it’s saccharine tragedy.
Also, if Dooley and Ms Codwell get married, does that mean Kristin is going to be Dove’s mum once again? Because at first I enjoyed the subversion of them being completely unrelated here, but I’m starting to miss them as a mother-daughter duo. Maybe s3 can amend that? Whatever, just please let there be a s3.
Ok but Topher being a JCS homage all season and his tribe digging everything he says, and then once he pulls a literal Jesus, ‘turn the other cheek’ and whatnot, they’re sceptical? Idk, but I kinda dig that just bc I find it (1) funny and (2) totally reasonable.
I can’t… the Somewhere Love Is Waiting for You riff as Dooley reunites with his daughter… it’s too much. I’m going to cry. I was already going to cry, but this really is too much.
Ok but even when he doesn’t intend it, Dooley sure is good with that cleaver. And the narrative pulling a Phantom on the Phantom shout-out character… now that’s what I call poetic justice.
Yeah, sure, I’ll drink to that too. From now on I want all the villain death announcements to be done via Kaput reprise. Ding Dong the Witch is Dead who?
Rocky Horror Sgt. Rivera isn’t what I ever expected, but I’m digging it. I’m actually tearing up. What is with Schmigadoon season finales and making me sob my heart out? I need to have more of that.
Now excuse me for crossing my fandoms over here, but the tribe’s ending is giving Ordinaryish People by AJR: ‘Your hippie friends call you a sellout cos you buckled down and got a job’… indeed.
Goodness, Something Real with Topher and Jenny was one thing, but with Mel and Josh it feels that much more… real. I mean. Tell me it doesn’t. I’m not crying over the cheesiness that is a musical ending number, you are. Except I am, too, of course. How could I not be?
I did not have Narrator x Rivera on my bingo cards for this season, but like, ‘I don’t hate it’. I actually wish I could see it play out.
What’s better than Leprechaun Martin Short? Leprechaun Martin Short x2. I am living for every bizarre, out-of-left-field thing this finale throws at me. I really really really want more.
Ok but, as a lover of child-centric musicals, I now need a s3 with Josh and Mel and their little one in a land with more than one child-centred musical number. It’s not a want, it’s a need.

Ive seen some people speculate that Nori will probably be played by the same VA that played Uzi, in my opinion its very reasonable as Elsie Lovelock has a good voice range and has also played the mom from Spooky Month so I can honestly see her playing Nori.
Idk what do you think?
Oh yeah definitely can see it

Still awaiting the translation for Ch. 3, so in the meantime…
Tumblr media
Ultimately, the biggest deciding factor in my opinion is having a VA who also sings. Nana Mizuki, Utau’s JP voice, is both a well-known voice actress and singer, so I’d want her to have the same spoken and singing voice.
There’s two major angles I had in mind:
1. Elsie Lovelock or AmaLee - if a reboot were to be set in the 2020s, I think it would be interesting to have a VA for Utau that has solid internet fame. When the original anime aired, internet fame wasn’t taken seriously, with TV and movie celebrities being favored. If they really want to lean in to social media and influencers, giving Utau a VA who got her start on YouTube or other platforms would help to bring that energy. Plus, AmaLee has an English cover of the first OP, so it’d be dope to hear her covers of Utau’s songs!
2. A seasoned veteran VA - to thematically tie to the conflict in the Dia Arc, I think giving Amu a VA newer to the industry and giving Utau a veteran with years under her belt would help highlight Utau’s confidence in herself, as well as Amu’s admiration of her. I know I listed Laura Bailey as an option for Amu, but seeing as she’s voiced more mature characters such as Lust, Vex, and Anko, I think she could handle Utau’s emotional range and confidence. Brina Palencia probably has my favorite tone and inflection for this option, but any of the four veterans I’ve listed would work well in my opinion.

what murder drones characters do you like 👀
And why (I know nothing abt the series)
N is my favorite! Oh and Uzi as well.
Why I like N:He's socially awkward he's blorbo material he's also kind of pathetic and I love him. His relationship with Uzi is super sweet(I personally don't really ship them and I see them more of as friends but i can understand why people ship them) and it gives massive sibling vibes.
Also his VA(Michael Kovach) does a great job at that role so you have that.
Why I love Uzi:She's such a fun character. She's loud she's brash and she's a fun character. Elsie Lovelock(her VA) kills the role. As the series goes on Uzi becomes more fascinating as a character. There's so much mystery to her story and frankly it's interesting to think about. When she's not being brash or her typical Uziness, the heartfelt moments she has with characters like N are genuinely touching and sweet to watch letting you know that there's more to this character that meets the eye.

PAX East 2023: Elsie is Pure, Glorious Chaos
Elsie also has several other strengths as well, such as its vibrant art style and its pulse-pounding soundtrack, but the important thing is that it’s just plain fun, pure and simple, even if didn’t allow you to rain chaos upon numerous droves of robotic enemies. Then again, as I write this, I also noticed that the game’s official site literally tells you to “embrace the chaos” as well, so it’s clearly still a major selling point. Come for the chaos, but stay for the rock-solid platforming action when Elsie comes out later this year.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people mention it. I am very bad with voices, but she sounded slightly off. I have no clue if it's a new VA or just a new direction for her voice. If it's a new VA, we'll definitely find out, Bungie likes to introduce them. As of now, no clue.
Her accent also seems a little different? No idea if it's just because we haven't heard her in a while or there's some deliberate change in her voice direction.

Reporting a Tragedy
It is with a heavy heart that I share tragic news about Abel Dorvilne, an agronomist with Raising Haiti Foundation’s (RHF) implementing partner, the Smallholder Farmers Alliance. On October 17, 2024 Abel was in Les Cayes to purchase seeds for the Tree Currency Program (agroforestry program) when a gang member shot and killed him. Abel supervised the Tree Currency Program in two of the communities that RHF helps support, Côtes-de-Fer and Saint Jean du Sud. He also oversaw the earthquake response RHF helped fund in the community of Laborde. Abel was a community leader who spent his entire adult life assisting his fellow countrymen to improve their lives. He died while doing this. I consider him a true hero. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
Abel leaves behind his wife, Elsie Verdieu, and three children, ages 1, 7, and 10. Elsie is a school teacher with a modest monthly income. With Abel gone, the family has lost its main source of income. Elsie is in urgent need of funds to pay for Abel's funeral ($5,000), school fees ($1,270) for the remainder of the school year for the three children, and funds to start a business ($10,000) so she will be able to increase her monthly income. RHF would like to assist Elsie with these expenses, to address her immediate needs and help her support her family in the future.

My Time at Sandrock - Beginnings and characters
I warned y'all, here's my experience so far:
First up, kind of disappointed by the character creator. Coily hair is missing once more, the only hairstyle to choose (for women at least) is Bantu knots. I guess the space buns could count but all the hairstyles are done with straight, slick hair....
I do love the story so far though and the voice actors are really charming! I was a bit taken aback by everyone greeting me with a thick texan accent, there's "Howdy, pardner and y'all" all around me lmao. I should've seen that coming with the "Wild West" theme of the game but it surprised me :'D
The characters are a mixed bag. At first I was really miffed with how...nothing-burger everyone seemed to be. Not a single person really stood out to me as interesting. I waited a bit to get to know them better and now I really can't say who I love more, haha.
Pen sure is like a strange lizzard in a tank to me. Observing him is fascinating 😂 That guy is so bonkers, I can't wait to see what he gets up to next. I also really love that in one event he let it shine through that there is something very not right about his psyche/childhood. We love a fucked up man ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Grace turned out to be such a sweetheart! I usually don't like blonde romancable characters in these type of games, don't know why. Her design didn't stand out to me either so at first I just ignored her. She's really fun though, poor soul couldn't cook a fried egg if her life depended on it :')
Unsuur has worked his way up my favorites list SO fast. There is not a single thought behind those eyeballs and I can appreciate that. What a lad. The event where you literally watch paint dry together had me in stitches. The bitch went right back to bed after too! Iconic.
The only one who I'm a bit sour about is Pablo. There is something really weird going on with his voice acting: In his introduction and some of his greeting lines he has a regular voice but in most other dialogue he has this really high one? You can tell the VA struggled to get that high, you can hear the breathiness and strain on his voice. Which makes it SO confusing as to why they went that way??? Because he's gay? Is he only allowed to have a "gay voice"? His other lines are fine, there's the usual power in his voice you'd expect from somebody speaking in their ideal register. So weird. I dig his design though, finally somebody with piercings!
I'm honestly a bit sad about the other women though, at least the romancable ones: Amirah is just too pretty, way out of my league. Elsie just feels like a kid to me, the event where she explicitely tells the player that she's a legal adult already felt a bit weird ngl >_>
Mi-an gives me nothing so far, personality wise, as does Catori. Heidi is cute but I think the texan-drawl is just a turn off for me - all the other people I'd consider for romance don't have that accent: Grace, Unsuur and Qi. I need my love interests at least a little pathetic ok TAT
Speaking of Qi, first thing I thought was "oh you Trafalgar Law looking motherfucker (it's the hair)", turns out he's nerd too! Of course he is lmao! I really don't like his voice, just personal opinion. Also, his VA sometimes falls out of the Qi voice? Some lines just sound so different that I can't help but think those were probably recorded the first, while his VA was still unsure.
I was thinking about going after Owen at first, but that man has such a crush on Amirah, no thanks, I'm not gonna be a part of that. He is sadly the only romanceable character with a beard though ;_; please more beards....
ZEKE! He is NOT smoochable??! Grave mistake, Pathea. Let me smooch the big bear man! When someone in town mentioned how he is still not married, I shouted "I volunteer as a tribute" out load, looking like an absolute idiot! WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH I CANNOT MARRY THE SILVERFOX???
Ernest is too much of a rich boy for me. He is pathetic meow meow material but so far the whiny rich guy stick outweighs the wet-cat vibes for me - pass.
Burgess is adorable, I just wanna be his best friend and pick flowers, man. What a little sunshine. I laughed so hard at his "the D....for dance ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" line.
Not much to say about Fang , Arvio or Justice, they're fine. I do enjoy Justice being tired and over it™️. He does look very handsome too, maybe I'll have to befriend him more?
Why Miguel and Venti are romancable is beyond me. They are such strong "NPC you hardly ever even see" people that I'm a bit confused over why you can marry them at all.
That's it so far, I will talk about other NPCs a bit more in other posts :) Who did you like right off the bat?

Update, I just checked Amazon music and all of SMG4’s music has been taken down as well. (For those not in the know, SMG4 is made by Luke Lerdwichagul, one of the co-founders of Glitch). As far as I can tell none of his videos containing original music have been removed from YouTube.
Faraday Cages’s remix of “Disassembly Required” is still up
All of Elsie Lovelock’s (the va for Uzi and Meggy) music has also been taken down. The only one remaining is “Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow” from the Hazbin Hotel pilot
All of Gooseworx’s music that was either for Glitch or a Glitch related series has also been removed.
Most of the songs done by Michael Kovach (voice of N and Jax) have been removed. The only ones left are fan songs that he’s appeared in.
Everything Glitch related that was uploaded by someone from Glitch has been removed from SoundCloud.
This doesn’t feel like someone stealing work for fame, this feels like someone who specifically has a grudge against Glitch Productions and anyone involved with them.
I don’t understand how, despite the fact that Dispirito and SMG4 have had their music uploaded for years now, a person could look at someone who literally JUST uploaded a fucking copy of the song and automatically decide that they must be the original owner.
Tumblr media
AJ DiSpirito, a composer who's scored or contributed music to many of Glitch Productions' shows (most recently Murder Drones), has run into an issue regarding his work's availability. On YouTube, direct links to the official, automatically-generated uploads for each song (different from the videos AJ himself posted, which are one per album) will lead to this error:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's worse is that this is not confined to a single website or composer - it appears to have affected nearly every single streaming platform that previously hosted his work, as well as other Glitch soundtracks:
Tumblr media
I did some investigating myself, and I can say two things with utmost certainty. The first is that, as he says in the above tweet, The Amazing Digital Circus's soundtracks were both pulled from YouTube in the same manner as his work on Murder Drones:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second is that every single Glitch-related release on Qobuz - including their other shows, Meta Runner, Sunset Paradise, and SMG4 - has been delisted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The reason I highlight Qobuz specifically was simply because I had been meaning to buy Murder Drones' soundtrack there in the future, since it is the only place I know of where it can be purchased instead of just streamed.)
Finally, as mentioned at the very start of this post, this is likely tied to what appears to be a copyright troll reuploading DiSpirito's music for Glitch on YouTube and Amazon Music (among other places). "Urza's Destiny Beats" uses different names and (AI-generated) artwork for their uploads, but the actual music is undeniably stolen. Just a few examples:
"Festering Wound" is actually "Eternal Dream"
"Barrin, Master Wizard" is actually "The Knife Dance"
"Trumpet Blast" is actually "Solver Uzi"
In short, this is a pretty open and shut case. Considering both that and the many different artists who've been impacted, I'm hoping DistroKid (and/or any other relevant authorities) correct the problem soon - though I haven't heard great things about their track record for responsiveness.
Update: All Glitch music has been delisted from Spotify. Gooseworx (creator and co-composer of TADC) and the Lerdwichagul brothers (co-founders and heads of Glitch itself) are aware of the situation.
