Modded by @loupy-mongoose.
Jamie Wild was a character originally created as a trainersona more than a decade ago, who gradually evolved into a character all her own and ended up the protagonist of a yet-unpublished Soul Silver Nuzlocke called Shadowed Soul. In recent years, after these many years of building her character and the Pokemon world around her, I've been wanting to make her completely my own, world and all.
Someday I still hope to tell her Nuzlocke story and keep up with her in the Linden Roots world, but here I will be giving an alternate version of that story--Some elements will remain the same or minimally changed, while some changes will be drastic. So both stories will hold their own merit, when comes time to tell them both. :>

Asks Notice:
I'm having the inbox open only so that people can ask about specific curiosities, and allow for prompt inspiration. This is not an interaction or Role Play blog! I won't say it's impossible, but any asks worded as such will likely not be answered as such, and may not be answered at all. That being said, I do reserve the right to answer as I see fit. XD
For now I will leave anonymous available, but I will turn it off if anyone chooses to act in ill-will or with weird intentions.

Some notes about this story:
-The setting is the same world as my other story The Matters of Life and Death. So some things, such as staffwyrms and the way magic works, is the same between stories.
-I currently plan to tell it in a slice-of-life manner, probably through mixed means of comic, artworks, answered asks, and potentially writings.
-My aim with this blog and story is to have fun above all else! It's something I feel I shouldn't have to say, but at the same time I also feel I've lost touch with that particular motive. So I'm hoping to remind myself that my art and stories are mine, and are for my entertainment first and foremost.
For those interested in this old tale being made new, welcome! I hope you enjoy the journey! ^w^

Also, feel free to share this post. This blog is NOT for reblogging of events, but for listing and perhaps making it a bit easier for everyone to keep track of these events before they’ve come AND gone ;)
This newsletter is mirrored on pillowfort and tumblr and announced on twitter.
* This is something tumblr never learned but PF has adopted from the old LJ format - if anyone wants a PF invite, just ask - we get 3 per week anyway to give away and there are pillowforters who will happily share invites.
Disclaimer: I am not running any of these zines, events or servers (in the few cases where I am involved in the mod work, I will make note of this). Please use your common sense and if you feel you’ve entered an event/zine/server/community you feel uneasy about, do not hesitate to step away from it. You may let me know if there’s a problem with one, but please know that I am not able to police every single one of them, nor will I play God in other people’s domains. I will let the mods know there is a problem (without mentioning your name and if it’s grave enough, take the link off), but please do not expect miracles and do not use me as your tool to get back at servers/server mods for personal reasons. I abhor being pulled into fandom wars and kerfluffles.

My Projects/To-Do List
Chatter about stuff I wanna work on and where I am on the stuff I AM working on :D  More beneath the cut!
Puits d’Amour
There are currently seven remaining written updates for Puits d’Amour.  Of those, I still have two left to edit/complete between chapter updates.  However, I realized I want to add an update after the next one, so I will spend the next month making sure that is ready (I have four weeks before it would be time to post that).  So that’s... eight updates, or sixteen weeks of posting every other week, which takes us out to... early July.
It shouldn’t take me too much longer to finish editing, maybe two months?  But I am also really low on art made during campdigimonth2022, meaning I’ll be drawing a lot in the upcoming weeks.  Part of me is intimidated- I’m not much of an artist- but part of me is excited to draw the entire Adventure/02 cast, plus some characters I haven’t worked with before, like Wallace/Meiko/Osamu.  I can’t wait to make a master list with links to all the art!
So basically, updates will all be Puits d’Amour until July.  This is not the end of the story; it’s just the end of the material I wrote during Nanowrimo2021.  At this point, I’ll have to figure out what I’m doing next.
Ideas for what I’ll post next
A lot will depend on how I’m feeling in July!  I might continue PdA, or I might go back to TIL.  Those are the most likely things.  FY also remains open, but when I launched TIL, I meant to write and post in movie-based chunks.  I left Ketsui unfinished, so I would like to close out that movie before moving on to something else.  Also, as the person hosting Koushiro week 2022, I do want to have something written about him for that, so that’s circling my brain, too.
Other Ideas/Projects
Every now and then, I like to post a laundry list of projects I want to work on.  Here’s what’s in my orbit now:
-Developing the Camp Digimonth Discord and blog
So it turns out that folks enjoyed the Camp Digimonth discord and create-together atmosphere.  I don’t know much about Discord, but apparently most of the servers are based on specific seasons/characters/ships, which means that a lot of people are left out if they aren’t into that specific thing.  There’s special alchemy to combining the following: a place for all digimon content, a creation-oriented environment, and a place where folks generally know one another to some degree via the Tumblr community.
I’ve been trying to think of ways to keep the community content-creation vibe going!  It can’t be an eternal event, because everyone should have a chance for their events.  But if the bulk of goings-on is on discord, then we can avoid stepping on toes on Tumblr.
That’s where we are now, working together to figure out how to best use the Discord.  For now, it’s limited to the original Campdigimonth crew while we figure out what it is we want to do, but eventually, we will likely offer invites to interested folks!
-Koushiro Week 2022
I’ve scheduled Koushiro week!  I’d like to have the Tumblr up and the prompts written and available for circulation to Koushiro fans for further suggestions by the end of April.
I’m also considering reserving a single day of Koushiro week for a specific purpose.  Most of us Tumblr content creators are adults, with lots going on.  It’s really difficult to be ready for events.  That’s why I want to reserve a day of Koushiro week for reblogging your own existing Koushiro content (not anyone else’s, just yours).  Another idea is Koushiro recs- a day to recommend your fave Koushiro fics/meta/art!  I’m hoping that everyone can feel included with these days (maybe the same day for both old content and content recs).  Folks shouldn’t be left out because we’re adults with busy lives.  Koushiro for everyone, lol!  (AS IT SHOULD BE).
-Book Binding
Making my first book was so satisfying, I’m hooked!  My next book binding project will be a repeat of After August, but first, I want to read the existing physical book, then ship it off to its new home.
The problem is that I wanna make ALL OF MY FICS books- but I need to edit first, and editing takes more time than the initial drafting!  So this process is going to take literal years.  I really want to make Growing Up with You.  Can you even imagine it, book one with Mitty’s art?!  MY HEART!  I would cry.  No really, I would cry.
But honestly, prepping fics for book binding is more of a project than the actual... book binding part, so don’t expect anything soon.
-Stickers/Prints
I can make stickers and prints now!  I really want to make a sticker of the cover art for TIL!
-Digimon Tarot
The Chosen as Major Arcana Tarot Cards is one of my all time favorite projects.  Now that I have access to a high end printer, I’ve been thinking more seriously about drawing art for my tarot card selections.  The trouble is that I mainly draw simple hips up portraits, lol!  And 22 illustrations for the Major Arcana is already a lot, and that doesn’t even touch on the remaining 56 cards (although you can substitute for ace through 10 of Cups/Wands/Swords/Pentacles using an ordinary deck of cards, and you also have jack/queen/king, at which point you need to create page or knight cards of each suit, depending on what you decide the jack is).
I don’t have the skill to make this work, but maybe if I keep practicing drawing...
I love tarot, check out this video I made about my decks!
-Original Stories
Do you remember Tales of REM?  They’re a collection of ideas for stories based on dreams.  I have a lot more that aren’t listed.
Unfortunately, I’ve more or less decided not to write them as fanfics (although I might toss up the one I’ve already written and have been sitting on for years).  The last time I wrote a story based on a dream, I had the sense that folks were confused/disappointed that it wasn’t like my normal stuff (it was a crackfic, lol).  I think my time would be better spent turning them into original stories.
I’ve never really considered publishing before, and I’m not saying that I think I can just... put some stuff together and be successful, lol!  But I do think I could write a book.  If it’s just for me, fine.  If I buy an ISBN# and publish it digitally, fine.  In fact, I’m dubious of traditional publishing, because the author loses most of their control over their work via that route.
But, um, as someone who is sitting on...  1.4 million archived words on FFN, uh, yeah.  I can Book.  I am capable of Book, many times over.  What a strange thought!
I honestly think that holding the printed and bound copy of After August kind of... made this concept real to me.  I write books.  I have written actual piles of complete books, they’re just digital and unsuitable for publishing, as fanworks.
I’m a book witch.  I create on a mysterious digital plane, then conjure those creations into the physical world.
What a thought!  What a power!  What a gift.  I’m in awe of creation, however small.
-Upcoming fanfics
Nothing, except for the rare oneshot/short story for events, particularly Koushiro’s event in October.  I need to complete something first.
That’s what is in my heart and mind!  Are any of these things particularly interesting to you?  I hope you are all well and creating, if that is your jam <3

Note
Sorry if this isn't the place to ask but I'm in need of advice. I have a canon character I truly adore, but I haven't gotten muse or any opportunity to write them at all. My blog is collecting dust and the fandom is kinda dead at this point. Not to mention, it's hard to find compatible writing partners, especially with how picky I can be. I'm honestly considering deactivating the blog (for the nth time), but I don't want to lose the writing I have. I know I could archive, but I hate having blogs just sitting around.
In short, I really want to write the muse/keep the blog but I'm not getting any incentive to do that.
Hello, Anon, it’s totally the place to ask!
I will say, though, that since finding and keeping muse can be flavored rather personally, I can’t promise that what works for me is going to work for you. I’ll even confess that in over two decades, I’ve never personally lost muse. I don’t know if it is due to underlying, neurodiverse style, fixating, or if it is due to keeping myself continually invested in both my muse and writing regardless of what else is going on. (Probably a combination of both, though, and the things I do to keep myself highly in touch with my muse I’ll be recommending.) I’m definitely happy to try to help, however.
Tumblr media
That really is a very frustrating spot to be in, wanting to write the muse and keep your blog active, but logging in every day to be reminded of what little reason you have to do so. Since we’re drawn to the characters we are for reasons of personal appeal and writing in itself is a pretty personal form of art, it can also feel depressing on top of the frustration.
However, that’s also the good news, in my opinion, because your incentive here is, or can be, yourself.
You were drawn to this character because you connected with them. They mean something to you, you can relate to them, maybe they have qualities (good or bad) that you wish you could experience. Whatever it is, there’s a reason why you had this draw. Writing is like that as well, there’s a reason why this is a hobby that drew you, that you get enjoyment out of. Again, though all art (it doesn’t matter if it is a hobby) has personal bits of the artist in it, writing is uniquely personal. When you write, you’re exploring thoughts and feelings, giving them life in a character that matters to you. I know, all of that sounds really convoluted and hokey, but it’s true.
And it’s good! That means you always have a reason to write and that you have the tools necessary to find and keep muse without any outside push necessary.
I’d say, firstly, work on getting muse back.
Get back in touch with your muse the next time you feel a particularly strong urge to write. Instead of spending time trying to find people in a silent fandom or forcing yourself to write something you don’t want to, just do some exercises that will help you get back into your muse.
I don’t know what media type your character comes from, but especially if it is something like movie or show that you can have on in the background of what you’re doing, do that. If it’s a comic or a book, think about your favorite scene and read it over first. If you’ve ever made some playlists for writing/your muse, you can always do that instead or as well. The point is to do something passively inspiring while you actively create. Now, that creating...
You want to do something that requires you to think about your muse so you can get in touch with them, not something that is going to make you feel overwhelmed and shut down. So, maybe don’t pick writing prompts for this - you can work up to that. Try out headcanon and character development memes and other question lists instead for right now. Things you can scroll down a list of, find questions that jump out as interesting (or even simply answerable to you at this point, you’re jump-starting a dead battery, it’s alright) and answer them. You can also do something as simple as write down what you like best about the character or their story, or put down the basics of filling in missing information that has always bugged you.
The beauty of this is that it is all on your own terms, your only objective here is to answer what you want, as much as you want. You can stop any time, but you can also answer a single question for three hours, making it eight pages long if the inspiration strikes you. It’s only about recharging your inspiration and establishing a connection with your character again. (This is also going to help you with getting back into writing, or approaching it for the first time, with a more internalized focus of interest.)
When you feel like you’ve done that, you can branch out on these exercises more. Answer the memes more in-depth, answer more of them/the ones you don’t have immediate answers for. You can also try writing out scenes from the character’s canon from their perspective, if it wasn’t already so, adding in their thoughts and feelings, or changing the scene in some ways that would be interesting to write out. This is the point where it’s a good idea to try a writing prompt or two, as well! Take the prompt as a sort of starter sentence from a mutual, you’ve got the situation, fill in with your muse.
Write when you feel like writing. The RPC is great at saying this when it comes to muns not wanting to write, but kind of ignores the other side of the equation. The side where you want to write, have the inspiration and muse to do so, but it might not be the best time. As in, you’re not home/wherever you usually write, with whatever device you tend to write on accessible. No, you’re not going to be able to get as much done, but you can write without the usual situation and device regardless. You can write a scene or ideas down using your phone or tablet, or go old school and use a notebook. If you’re at work and your job isn’t applicable to being able to get down a single sentence, that still doesn’t mean you have to wait 8+ hours to get home; while you’re taking your break, write a little bit. It is a break, and writing is your hobby, it isn’t work. It’s good to do things you enjoy on breaks, and far more fulfilling to have also accomplished something you happen to enjoy.
Not writing when you have the drive to do, putting it off and holding it in until “the perfect moment,” is a great way to lose your inspiration and never actually have that moment. If you feel like doing it, that means it is the perfect moment. Life is restricting, don’t impose even more restrictions on yourself by having to be at home, in a specific spot, with a specific device, at a specific time, on a specific day. Was that annoying repetition? You’re right, it was. And that’s how your creative mind processes all the crap piled onto it that doesn’t allow for creativity.
Now, the other problem, the fandom situation.
There isn’t anything you can do about that, to be absolutely honest. I’m not going to blow smoke and tell you to be positive, wait it out, maybe the fandom will spring to life again. You know, maybe it will...but you could be waiting literal decades for that to happen. Not cool. Please, take my word for that, it’s personal experience that it blows even more than you imagine it will.
What you can do is take the matter into your own hands in other ways; putting yourself out there with more availability in multiple ways.
Are you a single-fandom blog, or are you crossover friendly? If you’re not crossover friendly, try to think of a single, relatively popular fandom that you enjoy. Don’t look at it like a hassle, but rather, just another creative exercise. A serious pitfall of creating alternate universe versions of muses is to take the simplest route, merely picking something you want from that other universe and applying it to your muse with no relevant changes that would naturally occur from it. It isn’t just reductive as hell, it’s not remotely creative, it’s like sticking a sticker on your muse’s forehead and saying that’s a whole different muse. It’s neither attractive to potential partners nor going to sustain your own interest for long. You want this to be a passionate investment on your own end, for yourself.
What not to do:
Let’s say the fandom you picked to do crossovers with is based around magic, the main characters are witches, and they are divided into factions based on how their magical talents display and develop. Not only do you decide to make your muse a witch, you pick the most badass faction. It’s the one full of assassins and action and (metaphorically or literally) sex appeal. Well, that’s also going to be the most popular faction in the fandom. That means there will not only be plenty of big name canons there but also that there’s going to be a plethora of OCs designed just for this universe...and other crossovers from other currently active fandoms.
While that might sound like it’s great for maximizing interaction chances, it’s really not when you’re just starting somewhere new with a character from another fandom that might not be known or liked. It can also take a minute in another fandom’s RPC to identify where the good partners are. Every now and then, it is the most popular and over-populous era/faction/etc., but most of the time, it isn’t. People who write with considerable dedication and talent fairly rarely are in the popular kids club even in their fandom choices. By inserting yourself into that area, you might be bypassing (and being bypassed) by better partners on the assumption that their characters are simply going to bore you to death since they’re not within the scope of your focal point.
It’s not a situation of not being allowed to be picky, you not only have that right regardless of your situation, you also should be. This is not a “beggars can’t be choosers” situation, you’re not beholden to anyone on the basis of being new and bored. However, some of my best, and longest lasting, writing partners over all 23 years I’ve been RPing didn’t/don’t fit with all the exact surface details that automatically draw my interest. It is as true within my own fandom as it is in dealing with crossovers. Opposites (with enough similarities) really do attract and work out well together!
Don’t judge and write people off for anything that isn’t an issue of compatibility with your muse, your writing, or yourself. Decline someone because they do one line only and you are novella, they write topics that are upsetting to you, you can see no way your muse and theirs can interact without instant murder, or because you cannot stand writing with someone who is pulling 90% aesthetics and purple prose. Not because their muse is a witch who uses life-based magic, loves nature, is a healer, and into their health...while your muse in this AU is all about the death, only appreciates an urban environment and is grossed out by animals, kills as an occupation, lives on cheeseburgers and caffeine. You see what I’m saying? Don’t limit yourself unnecessarily!
What to do:
Did you consider if, in that hypothetical idea of a fandom, your muse based on their purely canon self would even fit into that faction? Or is it just something you wanted to see? If you didn’t consider this, or it was the latter, fix that. That’s bad.
If you’re not absolutely dead set on that and only that, think about what really does fit the muse better. Maybe, they would be better as a healer, someone who messes with the very fabric of reality, or someone who manipulates natural elements at will. Then again, they might not even be a witch. They could be more mundane in terms of power, but more accurate and interesting as a normal, human (or whatever). They could even be greatly opposed to the use of magic and witches. Use your muse’s original canon as a base to decide these things.
If you are absolutely dead set on it, though, you have a lot of work to do making the character into what amounts to a markedly different one while still retaining some recognizable aspects of themselves. Consider what events, in this new universe of fandom, might have happened to alter the character thus. Keep in mind that even small changes can have great consequences in a character’s development, and you might need to think about the myriad ways in which that can display, how it changes still more things for this character.
While that job becomes so much more intense when you haven’t planned out a path that matches your muse’s canon characterization at all, it is still an important part of constructing an AU, of any kind, in general. Ask yourself what experiences led to the character you know as you already know them (including your own headcanons, yes). Then, find similar possible experiences within your new fandom verse that can have the same effect. Again, though, it’s important to understand that you are never going to have an identical set of experiences, so you need to explore relevant changes still.
When you do this, you’re allowing your muse to more seamlessly fit into this other universe in a fleshed out, interesting way. Interesting both new partners and yourself.
Okay, next obnoxious question from me! Do you have multiple verses, or are you single-verse?
Whether you are already exploring new fandoms or not, by creating a variety of verses for others to interact with, you’re increasing your chances for interest and activity. When you have a verse from a different fandom you can then, additionally, advertise your presence in both that fandom’s tags when you do a promo or applicable open starter and on active RPer lists for that fandom.
Every popular fandom has such lists. You can get on them by messaging/sending an ask to the blog or by reblogging their post to be added, following the directions. I haven’t seen one yet that doesn’t allow for crossovers. You simply have to tag it as stated in the post, such as “your canon’s name here - original fandom name - crossover.” By tagging your open starter or promo as “-insert fandom here- rp” and “-fandom here- open starter” you allow people in that fandom to find you to interact. Either way is excellent for getting started in totally new places with a character others might be unfamiliar with.
Please remember that if you tag a promo as “promo,” it’ll not show up in searches off of your blog. You know, where it actually needs to be searched. Thanks, tumblr, for being janky! Being more specific as to the fandom and character will help others actually find you. Don’t shoot yourself in the foot by tagging it as “promo.”
Make your verses accessible on your blog itself, in the nature of those verses, and how you set up your page or post that lists them.
Don’t put any page behind an impossible or complicated aesthetic. You really shouldn’t anyway, but when you’re needing interactions, it’s actively hurting your chances. Many people don’t want to have to play a game with your theme, it’s a turn off. Try a pinned post that lists all of your links to important pages like rules, verses, and bio instead. It means that, even from the dash, that information can quickly be found while other muns are first interested, and also that anyone who might be using the app can access it more expediently. (I’m genuinely not a fan or big supporter of doing google docs for rules, verses, bios, etc., as it forces people off site, so I can’t personally say, in good conscious and honesty, that I’d recommend it, but you do you!) You want to keep things quickly accessible is the idea here; when people are interested, you want to catch them right then and there before they have a chance to forget and lose your blog.
As to the nature of the verses themselves, give people real options. Don’t have 20 verses that all read same way. Same themes, plot possibilities, and backstories, or incredibly similar names. Have a diverse list of verses that can act as foundations for a variety of different muns. As many fandoms as you can reasonably have a good portrayal of, and different types of fandoms; not all the same genre (all fantasy, all horror, all scifi). Verses where your muse has substantially different goals, occupations, and other life situations that will involve another muse; don’t make your muse A Warrior™ in every verse, you can keep plenty of those aspects without being that literal. People love “modern” verses set in our own universe and, usually, in our own era. That doesn’t mean you have to go stereotypical or otherwise bore yourself by doing the standard “high school/college verse,” for instance. You don’t even have to designate that sort of thing, let alone make it the focus; simply create the verse by considering what your character really would be like if they existed within your reality.
As a final note on verses as pertains to this point, when you’re doing crossover verses, it’s alright to do some verses where your muse from their own canon existence somehow ends up teleported or whatever to another fandom’s reality, or even our own. Just don’t make every verse like this, it puts the onus of a great deal of creativity and effort onto the other mun by default; your muse has cluelessly dropped into the universe, and while it is high drama time for you, the other mun has to babysit, educate, deal with fallout, etc.
On making the list of your verses accessible, you want to focus on ease of browsing and not being overwhelming. People tend to look through a verse page and not read every verse listed, rather, they look at the titles and breakdowns to see if it is of interest, then read it. Don’t try to make everyone read them all, it isn’t going to happen, and shouldn’t change your effort any as the right people are going to find the verses that interest them...if you make it clear and easy enough.
Have a basic format you stick to, firstly. I do it this way: small verse banner, title of verse (linked to its overall tag so that muns can look through the tag at headcanons, aesthetics, pictures of the FC, and threads), muse age/age range, small blurb, possible triggers found uniquely or just heavily within this verse. In that order, one following the other in a simple, but pleasing way. Below that, is a more in depth breakdown of the “verse canon.” Sometimes, that is giving a brief rehashing of canon itself and anywhere my muse differs, be it in this verse only or overall, ending with where my muse is in this verse. Not literally where. I mean their present occupation, emotional and general state in life. At the very end, I provide any other relevant links and/or an expansion on the triggers mentioned at the top of the verse description if they’re that serious/recurrent so that muns can decide this isn’t the verse for them. I happen to have a potentially triggering muse, triggering verses, and writing triggering topics, though. That’s not something everyone needs to do.
Secondly, group your verses in a sensible way. I do my short list of default verses first. (And, I do mean short, you don’t want this be any more than four or five, it is overwhelming right out of the gate.) For me, that is two default verses of canon at different points on the timeline, one default AU that is a bit of a reversal of canon, and one default “modern” verse. Then, I list the verses that are in line with the altered canon one, just different possibilities, changes, points in history. After that, the different “modern” verse options. Then, verses for other fandoms, the crossover verses. And so on. This way, a potential partner can find the type of verse that might appeal to them and have an easier time picking from those possibilities and getting ideas.
Lastly, don’t be so succinct that you give too little information and underwhelm, but also don’t be so excessive that it takes all of the mystery of interaction away and overwhelms someone. It can be a difficult balance to strike, and some verses require more information than others, just experiment a bit. Additionally, it’s fine to link to pertinent information for the other mun to view aside from this, but don’t just link people to a fandom wiki as your “description/bio.” That isn’t giving information on how you write this muse, approach this fandom, or what another mun can otherwise expect. Keeping your descriptions interesting is important, you’re not giving a boring lecture, you’re trying to inform someone while making them hyped for their choices. It’s more interesting, and informative, to read if you do them with an ear to the “tone” of your muse in that verse. Is it a sad one? Sound that way. These can, indeed, function as snippets of your writing, so be sure you are writing them with the same care you should be giving your replies; spellcheck, good word flow and use, mind the grammar, and read over what you’ve written for common, easy mistakes.
Again, by giving a genuine variety of verses to choose from, you’re allowing for a greater reach in potential partners. Everyone from those still in your original fandom to those in new ones, all the way to fandomless muses will be able to interact with you this way.
Finally, in regards to what you can change or do when you’re in a dead fandom and seeking interactions; make sure you are increasing your reach by using proper tags, being honest about what and how you write, and don’t wait for others to stumble across you.
When you use tags properly, you’re increasing your chances of being seen at all. Every time you post something at all applicable on your blog, tag it with relevant things. Tag as described above with whatever fandom it is and “RP,” your character’s name, “open RP,” character name and RP, indie RP, open starter, and so on. Be sure you are optimizing your tags by placing the most relevant to finding you in the first four, those are what show up in site-wide searches only. Anything after that isn’t going to appear in a search across all tumblr.
By tagging your character’s name, as a canon, you should know that you are likely to get personal blog interaction. I’m pretty against being nasty to personal blogs for no reason, as I don’t appreciate personal and fandom blogs being shitty to me for the sole reason that I am an RPer. Please, use clear, short, attention getting directions for them. If you want no interactions with them, put right in the description of your blog “RP blog, does not interact with personal blogs.” When you say things like, “personals dni,” or “personals blocked,” you’re not doing anyone any favors. Personal blogs often don’t even know what the hell a personal blog even is! They do not denote themselves this way, to a personal blog, they’re just a blog. By designating first that you are an RP blog, you’re making it clearer that they’re the personal; they’re obviously not an RP blog, so that must make them a personal. Follow this up in a pinned post, right on top. Give a note to personal blogs that describes them as “any blog that isn’t an RP blog” first, then either tell them in brief what they can and can’t do or that you don’t interact and will block.
I don’t recommend taking your blog off of being findable, however. That’s alright once you have the RP activity you are looking for, but until then, it’s working against you. Other RP blogs cannot easily find you either, they will only find you if you’re on a list or appear in their recommended blogs, if you interact with a mutual, or are recommended by a mutual. You’re not just lessening your chances of personal blogs finding you, so if you have that turned off, turn it back on.
Don’t entirely rely on others finding you regardless, though. You can’t be 100% passive when you have no interactions, and by relying solely on serendipity you’re far less likely to get them. I know that everyone here is terminally shy, but seriously, you have to do more than put your silent will into the universe that someone perfect find you. You have to make this happen. Once you get a few people, you can afford to be more passive. Not only do you have some people to write with, you will be more visible to their mutuals, and more established as a presence. I’m not saying this is easy, or that it will become easy, not awkward or stressful, if you have a legitimate issue behind the shyness. Just that it is the only way to really proceed, and I believe you can do it!
So, go looking for interesting blogs. Be crossover and OC friendly (again, this doesn’t mean “accept everyone,” there are valid reasons for not accepting people you won’t work out with that have nothing to do with their fandom or being an OC), and search those fandom’s RPCs, following any blogs you think you might work out with upon reading their rules and other pages. Search for fandomless OCs and do the same thing. Fandomless OCs aren’t just floating around in the ether, they just weren’t created expressly for a particular fandom and within its confines. What is excellent about that is their ability to have a wide variety of verses and many possibilities to fit into any fandom or verse. So, don’t count them out solely on the basis of being an OC and fandomless. It doesn’t mean what people seem to think it does!
Do not stop at having followed 50 blogs. I mean, other than that you probably should stop following people for a bit. That you should do, as you need to be building writing relationships here, not following so many people that you cannot get to them. Don’t just stop at the follow, though. Since you’ve read their rules and information like a good RP partner, you should have some idea of what their interests are and where they align with yours, as well as how they prefer to be approached, if they accept memes right away to start, need plotting, have a rules password. When they’ve followed you back, proceed with interaction!
Ask if they’d like to plot when they have time, you’re really looking forward to writing with them. But...have some idea of a plot, please. It is a serious turn off to have someone message you wanting to plot, only to reply and get “lol I don’t have any ideas, anything works for me/whatever you want to do.” That isn’t plotting, it’s one party coming up with ideas and constructing a plot while they’re being told “I’m fine with anything.” That may be true, but it’s disheartening and a red flag for many people. If you genuinely can’t come up with anything, pick verses that match up well and suggest doing something within them.
“When you have the time, would you be interested in discussing writing? I was looking at your verses, and I think your verse -name- and mine, -verse name-, would mesh well.” Is a good way to start. Once you have a discussion flowing about the verses meshing and the muses, it’s typically easy to organically develop some plot ideas to go off of.
If both you and the other mun are alright with plot-free interaction and memes, you can send a meme any time. If you can’t find any memes on their blog, look for a wishlist or navigation page that shows you the tags for memes/wishlist. Still can’t find it? Ask them if they’ve got a wishlist or meme tag you can look through.
Additionally, if open starters are a thing you both do and are alright with, find some of theirs and respond. Post your own, tag it appropriately to be found in general and on your blog, and reblog it once or twice. Don’t excessively reblog it, and don’t get upset on the dash if no one interacts with it or any memes you reblog. Both are demanding to outright guilting, and not a good way to get partners. Just provide them with the ability to easily interact by making the posts available in the first place and by making them findable on your blog search and navigation.
Provide something for potential partners to see. Since you said you already do have writing, that’s great! That’s content on your blog that your partners can view. However, since you’re also having the issues you’ve stated, it’s likely that you haven’t many new posts. Show that you are active, interested in being here, and how you write your muse (and in general) by posting some newer content. For original content, do a headcanon or some meta, or post about new verses you are adding, the changes on your blog, a promo. For reblogs, things pertaining to your muse like canon imagery, fanart, quotes from canon or that generally express your muse, and aesthetics relevant to your muse are all excellent things to queue.
Use that queue. Not only do very few people appreciate having dash spam of similar content for the comparatively short time you might be around, but also, running these things on a queue means you spread that out for maximum view. While there are hours of heavier activity, you’ll have mutuals who are on at unusual hours due to their life and preferences or their timezone. This way, you’re not appearing inactive, if not outright invisible, to those mutuals. It’s not a bad idea to use a queue tag so that people know if they interact with a post that’s been queued, you might be here to quickly respond.
Ultimately, to fix your fandom and lacking partners problem, you just need to up your availability and reach beyond that fandom alone. Be proactive in following and approaching, decline blogs based on not working out only, utilize tags and fandom RPer lists, have everything on your blog easy to follow and not overwhelming, and have your verses meet as wide of a range of people as possible while also not being overwhelming.
Try updating your promo, as well, by the way. They’re not dead, they just really tanked when people kept making them based solely on aesthetic principle instead of being at all informative about the muse. They do seem to be coming back, so it’s a thing to consider.
Yes, make it visually appealing, it will draw people to reading it. No, do not just use a song lyric or quote with words highlighted linking your rules, verses, bio. Tell people basic info like the age of your muse and yourself, if you are multiverse and multiship, your muse’s canon verse and a couple of big interest verses of other major fandoms or themes that tend to be of interest to people, and what kind of RP you write - one line/para/multipara/novella. Absolutely give links to rules, verses, bio, and either memes, wishlist, or open starters, but give them just like that; make it very clear what this link is to. Put a very short statement of interest on there denoting that you’re expanding to new fandoms and looking for writing partners.
Do not sound desperate, demanding, or devaluing of yourself. Don’t say shit like “because my fandom is dead,” “trying this before I give up and delete my blog,” or “I suck at interaction/writing/ooc interaction/being a person but welp giving it a try, so follow and hit that heart.” (Conversely, calling yourself derogatory things and implying that your partners are too, such as the “we’re all just losers here” shit.) All of the above are not attractive, and they’re not even surprising enough to stand out anymore. It’s another reason to scroll right by that promo because nothing at all was different or of interest.
And as a wrap-up/rehash of the first topic, getting muse back: try starting over at the beginning by approaching the media involving your muse that has really stuck with you emotionally over the years, and exploring and developing your muse again.
Don’t tell yourself you can only write, for example, at home, on the laptop, after 7pm, and with a pop toy staring at you. The best thing about writing, as opposed to so many other hobbies, is that you can do it anywhere! So, do that. Do it any time you both feel the inspiration to do so and aren’t going to get fired or expelled for it. This isn’t work, it’s something enjoyable that does take effort (like literally all creative activities and skills do), but approaching it as though you need to follow novel writing advice from someone who has never published anything of note and isn’t you on the internet, with strict rules for success makes it feel that way. So does being frustrated with a dead fandom, no interaction. It’s disheartening, feels as annoying and fruitless as work often does. You probably need to break out of that mindset, and you can only do it by beginning to allow yourself to be creative on your own terms, entirely for yourself.
Do write simple things at first that you are inspired to do (you can’t get a scene out of your head, or a bit of dialogue), and/or headcanon/character development memes and question lists. Build from there as you get back in touch with your muse, writing things primarily or entirely for yourself still. Expanding on headcanons, doing some meta, or maybe writing out a missing piece of canon or what you’d be interested in seeing happen in canon if some event was altered.
Doing this sort of thing, you are getting in touch with your muse again and back into the real spirit of writing creatively, simultaneously.
Whatever you find most inspiring, do it. If it’s watching the movie or show again, do that, have it on while you write or simply think on the character’s actions, thoughts, and emotions during those scenes. If it’s reading the material again, do that, and read snippets of personal importance before you write. Maybe it’s some past playlists you can have on while writing, or even while you’re cleaning, walking the dog, driving or riding somewhere. It could even be your own previous writing! Go ahead and re-read that, it sounds like you still appreciate it, and that’s truly promising. If you find that you’re horrified by some of the things you’ve written in the more distant past, hey...that’s not just valid as hell, it’s natural. You know what else it is? An inspiration. You can clearly see that you could do better, that means you now know how to do better and are ready to do so. Validate yourself, prove it to yourself by rewriting or fixing something.
Don’t delete the blog or archive it. It is unpleasant to have a dead blog around, but don’t keep it dead. Use the same blog and simply transition it into wider things that will net you more partners and the interactions you deserve.
Look, even if you weren’t the most popular blog in your fandom before it went quiet, you really appreciated the blog, muse, and writing you were doing. You’ve defined that it wasn’t something you did to cause this situation, you just had the shit luck we all run into eventually of being in a fandom that ran out of material or interest. People are really fickle, so by taking a wider approach and fixing on the writing and muse instead of fandom now, you’re stopping this from repeating. Seriously, on a long enough timeline, every fandom dies or goes into hibernation. If you make a whole new blog with a different muse, it is going to happen again eventually.
So, don’t feel like you’re ridiculously clinging to the past and need to move on, you’re just sticking to something and can continue to stick to it through the next five fandom deaths. Just because it is the most popular thing to do to drop muses, constantly add new ones, and have this attitude that you can “blog refresh” your way out of recurrent, and inherent, problem doesn’t mean it is actually the right thing to do. It’s not even the most sensible, and certainly not the best thing to do with anything you’ve spent time and effort on.
That’s your incentive; yourself, the time and care you’ve put in, and your continued interest in writing and the muse. You’ll find good people, and bluntly, everyone else can fuck right off when you’re incentivized by yourself. It becomes a self-fulfilling activity at that point, I swear, and it feels really nice.
Just get back in touch with your muse and writing itself so that you can begin to expand and start interacting again!

how do you get into roleplaying on a ff server? like how do you do it and how do you know if your character is lore compliant? ;A; pls youre a big inspo to me
*Hugs Nonny* Getting into RP on a FF server can vary; I don’t actually RP much these days, outside of some friends I already have connections to--and that in itself can be difficult just due to Life! It can take time, and patience, and some fits and starts.
And this gets...really really long, so buckle up and go below the cut, please. :)
The cut got broken by an edit. Sigh.
In game there’s always the RP status tag, and just doing RP with folks in public spaces. There may be trolls now and then, but they can be ignored. I personally find Balmung’s Quicksand area too busy and anxiety inducing and not actually all that conducive to actual RP, even “meet at a tavern” walk-up type. But unless you already have a ready-made group of friends/FCmates willing to RP more than some random walk-ups with you, it may take some legwork to find folks you can and want to write with.
Social Media There are a couple of RP community blogs, like @mooglemeet and @ffxiv-crystal-rp  and plenty of server-specific ones. There’s also some Discords for these communities. They host and advertise events and reblog people who are looking for RP contacts. Some of them have running gdoc calendars and in game linkshells and fellowships as well.
Shofie has a good post about Tumblr/social media RP blogging.
@shofie-ffxiv
It’s a fact now that social media outside game is a way to make contacts, or even a medium for RP itself. There are few centralized websites/forums for server RP communities anymore. Making connections over your social media, like Tumblr and Twitter, can help find RP. You can’t just throw your own character info out there or reblog prompts hoping others bite, though; you have to put in some work and show interest in others, too. This can be difficult and even scary. That’s OK.
RP is about collaboration and creating with other people, which means finding folks you can write with, and who see you as someone interesting but also interested in them and their OCs. If you want to keep it a solo endeavor focused on your own OCs, write fanfic (which I’ve actually made friends and gotten RP interests that way too through comment interactions, so hey).
If you reblog a prompt from someone, see others on your dash reblogging prompts, if people reblog that prompt post from you? Send them asks! Alternatively, don’t wait for prompts, just send asks, comments, or chats saying hello and things you notice or like about their blog/character/posts they make. Try to form connections with people you think are genuinely interesting and might be fun to talk with. Social media should be, well, social.
BUT respect boundaries, too. Don’t try sarcasm or jokes with people you don’t actually know, it tends to go over poorly. Unless someone’s specifically posting a naughty meme/prompt, keep stuff you others send clean and polite, especially if it’s unsolicited and you’re not already friends (doubly so if you don’t know how old they are IRL, there are laws you do not want to break). Respect if people aren’t open to random asks or chatting with new followers, or say “no” to RP, and know it’s not personal--it’s just what they have time, energy, and emotional/mental capacity for. Don’t give up on other people, though. This stuff can take time and effort to find those you click with.
Respect and communication with RP partners is pretty key.
Do curate your feeds and don’t be afraid to unfollow/mute/block folks, either. I’m selective in who I follow and remove as needed, too, for my own mental health. I miss so much of the discourse and drama and that’s fine by me. Also it costs nothing to not step in on a lot of the drama when it does pass in sight.
Profiles I have static RP profile pages for my girls here on Tumblr (and a lot of other static links and pages, but I’m weird about organizing like that). This way, if people want to write with me, send me prompts, if I sent them prompts, or they want to otherwise interact with my characters, the information is handily available. For some folks, this makes all the difference in who they choose to interact with: how easily can they find even basic info about your OC?
Some people make Carrds. Some folks have gdoc links, or use Dreamwidth, etc. Just keep the links in the blog’s sidebar menu, and/or in the blog desc so people can see ‘em on mobile. There are templates out there, or you can make your own. Feel free to snag mine if you’d like. A lot of times people also copy their profiles to rebloggable posts when looking for RP contacts. Profiles are a good way to let folks know just the at-a-glance basics about your character(s).
I picked a simple theme with a simple layout that makes it easy to add and show off links. I put them in the blog desc to make them easy to find on mobile, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Images: links from my blog sidebar menu showing how over organized I am]
RP, Stories, Lore Post some stories or RP logs (with permission of others involved) or even just random little blurbs and headcanons, as well as any screenshots, art, aesthetic posts for your OCs. Have something of interest to show for your character, too, so some of those folks your interacting with have something of their own to see and ask about!
If possible, try some light RP with friends and FC Mates who are amenable. Go to events, even if just to lurk at first. When you do get up the nerve to talk to people, don’t try to throw a character’s entire backstory at them, or try to steal the limelight--RP is collaboration, back and forth, and a lot like real conversation. Maybe come up with little light things to talk about if asked; a recent adventuring job, a silly shopping incident, etc. They can break the ice or just give you something to reply with for a few minutes.
Lore Compliance is Variable. Some people really want lore compliance, others are OK bending it here and there, while still others throw it out the window entirely. If you want to be super lore compliant...read. There’s a LOT of information, in game and out, for finding lore; from official publications and website material, to tools like Garland Tools site, to compilation blogs like @mirkemenagerie.
Note what’s important for your concept. Narrow it down. Characters aren’t going to know or be or do everything, so only worry about what’s necessary for the base idea. And be flexible; it’s SE’s sandbox, we just play in it, and they can change things any time. They usually do it in the guise of characters not knowing/having all the correct information, at least, but also some places just don’t exist in game yet so we don’t have info.
I’m unspecific about a lot of elements of Aeryn’s childhood, for instance, other than “traveling merchants near Thavnair.” I don’t have to be super specific. I can keep most details vague, and focus on her family and those relationships.
Dark, as my first character, has a fairly simple backstory that I’ve expanded on and adjusted over time as I learned and came up with new info. I also bet no one remembers I originally said Dark was from the North Shroud. I’ve changed things (now from East Shroud, due to the proximity to Gyr Abania and its Hellsguards) as I learned more about the world and my character. You don’t want to change things willy-nilly, but sometimes being flexible and smoothing down some rough edges and making small changes can be fine, especially as one gets more lore over time.
Iyna has a pretty detailed backstory, that came from a basic idea, and checking dates in the pre-Calamity timeline. I based her being taken and trained the way she was not only on what info we have about Garlemald’s imperial practices with conquered provinces, but borrowed a bit from real life and the re-education schools many Native Americans were forced into (though I haven’t gone into detail on that yet, either). I tied the turning point in Iyna’s life to a major event that wasn’t the Calamity, and have left plenty of space in between for me to fill in as time goes on and I learn more about her and the world.
The world isn’t static, and is bigger and more diverse than what can be shown in the game. There’s space in the margins for plenty of weird stuff and contradictions or unusual cases. So read up on what you can, ask questions, and then find where in those spaces your OC fits. Then, find people who enjoy similar tastes in lore compliance (or non-compliance), and who enjoy playing with you and your OCs, and not worrying about the rest. Can’t please everyone, nor get along with everyone, so don’t try; just find what works for you, and who works with you, and don’t police anyone else’s pretendy fun times, either.
There’s no magic answer on the “right” amount of lore compliance, or how to quickly and easily find RP partners or break into the broader RP community.
I hope this helps at least a little bit! Good luck in finding your niche for RP, and maybe I’ll see you sometime at an event :)

alright.
i made dawn's acquaintance shortly before leaving on a trip to visit my longtime girlfriend sybil and my girlfriend jackie, who at the time i'd known for less than two months. i had been very isolated, both before this time and during it. at sybil’s prompting, i had recently joined a server run by bryn, the first community i had been a part of in a very long time. i met jackie there, and she had been the first person i'd talked to at length besides sybil for about two years. i first messaged dawn to clarify something i'd seen her say:
"Which deaths matter: Those killed by their partners, or those dying alone in garages full of carbon monoxide, with nooses around their necks, with excess drugs in their systems?
Of course all kinds of transfeminine people are at risk of both kinds of death, but we know that the proportions between demographics differ. We also know who makes the news and who dies alone."
this was a patently ridiculous thing to say. i knew that at the time, and her noncommittal yet revealing explanations further confirmed it. she went on to map out her trans-lesbianism-moralizing stance, implicitly, evasively equating nonwhite death by transmisogynistic violence with white transmisogyny-fuelled suicide, blah blah. i let it pass, valuing interpersonal civility as i did at the time, and hoping to make friends by default.
i mention this because it would set the tone for our dealings from then on.
we developed a fairly active friendship. beginning from early on in our relationship, dawn took great care to emphasize the existential gulf between our embodiments, never quite laying it bare, but making it clear that she was uniquely disadvantaged as compared to myself, who was, in turn, uniquely privileged over her. i should state plainly and crudely for clarity's sake that i am a mentally ill chinese trans woman dropout, who was, at the time, underweight and extremely isolated. i would continue to be those things, sometimes increasingly, throughout the course of our relationship. dawn is white and transfeminine.
also beginning from early on in our relationship was her insistence that i never make reference to jackie's and my relationship, which she also applied to jackie. this was enforced through negative reaction (harshly scolding me, blocking me for days, then acting as if nothing had happened). this was, ostensibly, due to her unreciprocated desire for jackie to be her girlfriend. i would say that it is a very irresponsible rule to impose upon someone who spoke regularly to 3 people in the world. it's worth noting that dawn did not impose this same rule upon bryn regarding her relationship with jackie, for reasons unclear to me.
dawn would often voice her grievances with jackie; her erratic availability for commitments, irregular response times to messages, refusal to enter into a codified romantic relationship; once, the fact that jackie had failed to do something sexual when dawn wanted her to. my girlfriend became an entity i couldn't fawn over, save for platonically, but one who i must always be ready to accept criticism of. you can imagine that this was not conducive to the honeymoon period of a young relationship, not that i would fault dawn for this particular action, in isolation.
along the way, i started wanting a codified romantic relationship with dawn. this made it difficult for me when dawn would constantly talk about how attractive various people in her life were and how virtuously they conducted themselves interpersonally and sexually. of course these are natural and normally innocuous things to talk about, but the frequency was very high, often coincided with vulnerable periods for me, and often felt pointed. once i said something to dawn about how i cared about her and was worried that i was a diversion to her. she chose to tell me that she had just got done having the same conversation with someone else.
dawn bemoaned her lack of partner(s). the fact that i was partnered, as most of her friends were, was something i was made to feel a lot of guilt over. my relationship status was one of the things that she made clear set us apart, made us unequal. i heavily internalised the message: dawn was a traumatized, mentally ill, isolated, alienated, pitiable girl (and i wasn't).
in july of 2019, i had been flippant about the difficulty for the game master in balancing the mechanics of the tabletop rpg monster of the week, and responded excessively flippantly to her explanations. (consulting the logs to write this post filled me with anger on behalf of the girl that i was at the time; an anger she didn’t know she was entitled to). i won’t claim that it wasn’t wrong for me to behave that way, i will just say that i apologised as soon as she expressed that i had upset her. she took the chance to re-emphasize how i was a hurtful, maladjusted person, and responded to my apology by once again defining me into the category that her abusers and oppressors occupied.
two weeks after that, i was in the middle of an involved babysitting session which i couldn't feasibly take a break from when dawn told me that she had decided to sever ties. we had a short, nominally-civil discussion. i swallowed everything, apologized to the end for whatever infinite wrongdoing i was guilty of. i couldn't process what was happening quickly enough. before i could absorb it, we'd said goodbye and i had been rather unceremoniously blocked on discord. i needed so badly to cry, to scream and clutch myself. but, like i said, babysitting. less than 3 hours after this happened, after I'd had some time to myself to absorb it, i sent her a single tumblr ask; a parting shot that i’d been denied. a desperate, manic attempt to feel real, to feel like i was my own person, she would smugly make her smoking gun of my boundary violating behaviour. that was the last i ever contacted her.
after her severing ties, my isolation was heightened, particularly within the shared space of bryn’s server. i stopped participating, and soon left. how could i act normally and joke about video games when i shared a space with someone i wasn’t supposed to be around? would it be a violation of boundaries to riff off something she said? to express affection for my girlfriend who she still talked to? and what was the point? i didn’t know anyone else particularly well, and these were some of the women who i was so much less interesting and virtuous than.
i never talked about dawn to anyone besides sybil or jackie until now, when she made a post featuring screenshots of my blog and then publicizing my 8 month old tumblr ask. such was the extent of my poisoning her friends against her. bryn and her girlfriend took issue with dawn’s mistreatment of them for reasons entirely separate from myself, and certainly not at my prompting.
for my part, seeing friends of jackie’s reblog from dawn and seeing them in the notes of her posts about me has been intensely paranoia-inducing, primarily due to the escalating severity and danger of the charges that she began to lay against me in these posts.
that’s about it. thanks.
--
tldr, dawn is a white transfem and i’m a chinese transfem. we were both very isolated and new to bryn’s server, began a friendship during which she positioned me as being essentially different and more privileged than her, grouped me with her oppressors and abusers, and undermined my relationships, including with my girlfriend who i’d only recently met. after the relationship ended, she effectively barred me from the only community i had, and later started alluding to me being a predator.

Rules (Mobile Version)
For those of you viewing the blog on a mobile device, here is (I hope!) a handier version of my rules page for you...
When it comes RP rules, I’m a pretty simple and low-key person so there aren’t many, I just have a lot to say about certain ones in some cases.
Be Polite/Respectful. If you’re going to be rude and act like an asshole, then don’t be surprised if I respond in kind.
I’m slow as molasses. Let me repeat that for the people in the back: I’M SLOW AS MOLASSES. I’ll do my best to be as active here as I can be, but I RP mainly on other platforms. On these other platforms I’m in two games and Mod one of them. While both games have no-to-very-loose-activity requirements, I do still need to put my main focus on them. I’ll do my best to give replies here on a weekly basis, but I can’t make any promises due to other reasons as well, like RL. I work a retail job, so my availability changes week-to-week and as an introvert, this job can also drain a lot of my energy which affects my motivation and priorities.
It’s always a good idea to ask before doing anything. Please ask me and discuss something before your character does anything major to my kids. I’m usually good with minor things, such as handing them a glass or taking a glass from them, but anything beyond that requires some asking and approval. If in doubt, ask! :)
I do not write smut on this blog. This is a deal breaker. Partly, it has to do with Tumblr’s policy change regarding certain types of content and partly, it has to do with my comfort level of privacy on this particular platform. A Read More only goes so far. The rest, for me, has to do with it getting stagnant after a while because I mostly got that stuff out my system some 10 or so years ago and I just don’t get anything out of it anymore and it no longer holds my interest. So, the blog is strictly PG-13 and light R when it comes to that particular content. If things look to be progressing to a bedroom setting, I’ll contact you to request that we FTB. Other types of content, however, you can come to me to discuss–I’ll probably be good with it. I also don’t RP with anyone under the age of 18 (in fact, my preference would be to RP with people in the 25+ range, but 21+ is totally fine, too!).
Tracked tag is latinverbis.
The Mun is Aeryn, female, 30+, and has approximately 20 years RP experience on numerous platforms.
This blog is semi-selective. Due to the other RP commitments mentioned above, I’m very selective of who I follow back and what threads to concentrate on. I usually follow blogs where I think Declan or my other muses could work with the muse (or muses) on the blog I follow. If you follow me and I don’t follow back, I hope you won’t take it personally but there are a few reasons why I probably didn’t:
The main reason is probably because I don’t see our muses interacting well.
Another reason might be the FC looks too young. Declan is immortal and is an adult male that appears to be in his early-to-mid-30s with the emphasis on the latter age range. My other muses are also in their early 30s, too, so trying to play against muses that look barely out of high school, especially if it’s a romantic line, makes me feel uncomfortable. But, if you’re looking for platonic/friendship/mentorship-type lines then come at me, bro!
Lastly, if I can’t read the content of your blog because the text is too small or your theme makes the text difficult to read, I will not bother reading or following back. I gotta be able to know what I’m getting into and if I can’t, well… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Formatting, etc. I’ve been RPing for nearly 2 decades so when it comes to formatting my posts, I’m old school. All I really do is write my response, check it for spelling errors and grammar and hit the send/reblog button. If you like to make your posts and responses all pretty with icons, gifs, images, uncommon formatting, etc. then as the saying goes, you do you. I don’t care so long as I can read it and have something that I can respond to. The same goes with length. If you only write a paragraph to my three (or vice versa), that’s fine. I’m a quality over quantity girl. Frequent one-liners will be a problem, though.
Prompts, etc. This is probably the Old School RPer in me again, but I don’t get the difference between a meme and a prompt since they appear to be the same thing? Regardless, I tend to tag them with one tag (ie, inspiration: prompt) with any additional tags (ie, drabble, headcanon, etc.)
If you send an ask prompt, I won’t respond to it directly in case it leads to a thread. Instead, I’ll start a text post and @tag you, if I can, as well as use your tracked tag if you have one. In the event I can use neither, I’ll contact you via your preferred method with a link to my response to the prompt you sent me.
Contact me! You’re more than welcome to send messages to me via the Ask box or the IM feature, but the best way to get in touch is probably through Discord (@Aeryn#2884).

Yutaba + 46
Futaba x Yusuke, “I’m in love…shit.”(~1900 words)
Futaba and Akira were 3 hours and 2 plates into their afternoon of retro gaming and curry-eating, and Futaba had been trouncing him well and good at Power Intuition and Punch Ouch. That must have been why he suddenly decided to use dirty distraction techniques to try to win a match.
“So, when are you going to ask Yusuke out?”
Yutaba jumped so high she knocked over the chair she was sitting on and fell down, prompting Akira to rush over to make sure she was ok. She shoved his well-meaning hands off, blushing a deep scarlet.
“Why would I do that?!”
Wasn’t Akira supposed to be super perceptive? He must be off his game if he thought Futaba had any interest in Yusuke. Which part of him was supposed to be attractive to her? The beanpole physique? The propensity for drinking paint water? The continuous flow of supremely boring art discussions? The horrible dietary habits? (Not that Futaba had much room to talk, but at least she ate, which was more than some people could say.) She stood up, brushing herself off, and glared at Akira. If he wanted to play matchmaker, he could go do that with Ann, or Haru, or hell, even Makoto would be a better target for his unnecessary meddling than Futaba.
“Because you’re into him?” he asked like it was some sort of obvious fact while he picked the chair up, proving that for all his interpersonal skills he really could be quite dense.
“No I’m not,” Futaba replied as she dropped onto the couch, assuming the conversation would end there. She’d had quite enough of fighting games for now; maybe it was time for round three of the curry…
“Coulda fooled me.”
Her head snapped up. So he wasn’t going to drop it. She sighed; Akira could be so persistent when he thought he was right, and she really had better things to do with her evening than explain to him why Yusuke wasn’t remotely attractive to her. Things like… cut her toenails. Or trim her split ends. Or maybe even color-code her closet. Anything had to be better.
She could feel her face still flooded with heat; she hated that that was her automatic reaction to awkward situations, and now Akira was going to read it as a sign or something, and had he gotten into Ryuji’s weird romantic manga stash again?
“I mean, you two hang out together all the time,” he continued.
Well, of course they did; Yusuke spent a large amount of his free time at Leblanc’s, and so did Futaba. He said it was for the atmosphere which “inspired the creative mind,” but she was pretty sure it was mostly because Sojiro always ended up feeding him when his stomach growled too loudly.
As for Futaba, since she didn’t go to school, it was either the cafe or her empty house, and since her change of heart she found that she appreciated being around other people sometimes. Not all the time, of course — she was still an introvert, nothing would change that, and closing the door onto her silent, quiet, empty bedroom was as relaxing as a hot bath after an excessively long day in the Metaverse. But sometimes, it was nice, having a few living, breathing people around to reminder her she wasn’t alone anymore.
And of course she often ended up talking with Yusuke; he was usually the only person under thirty in the cafe, and even his endless explanations of art movements couldn’t be as bad as discussing politics with the close-minded old regulars. If she got him on the right subject he could even be rather entertaining. He had a way of making scathing, offhand remarks without even appearing to realise it; sometimes it was like reading an oblivious snark blog and it took all she had not to laugh out loud, which inevitably broke the spell as he asked, completely confused, what was funny about the fiscally irresponsible choices of his classmate.
So clearly that didn’t mean anything. She opened her mouth to tell Akira as much, but he spoke first.
“Didn’t you even take him out to dinner the other day?”
She frowned. Take him out to… oh, right. She’d noticed he looked even paler than usual, with greenish undertones to his skin that he usually didn’t have unless he’d accidentally gotten paint on his face — not that she was paying any specific attention to his usually porcelain tone or perfectly blemish-free appearance. When she’d asked whether he was sick he’d told her to “please, not worry on his behalf,” which was the best way to make anyone worry.
(Futaba had read about reverse psychology, and decided that she was immune to that sort of mind manipulation trick. Therefore, the fact that she often felt the need to do the opposite of what she was told was simply her asserting her right to make her own decisions, and had nothing to do with any sort of psychology, reverse or otherwise.)
“When was the last time you ate something else than curry?” she’d asked him.
“Hmm… oh, yes, I had some bean sprouts on Monday. They were quite refreshing.”
“That… that was three days ago, Inari.”
“Well, I do have to wait for them to grow back. If I eat them too quickly, then there will be none left.”
Futaba had stared at him. It was a miracle he didn’t have scurvy at this point, really, and even if he was obnoxious and exasperating he was also a key member of the team. His ice skills were unmatched, so it would be a problem if he ended up in the hospital or on bed rest because he got less vitamins than a pirate from the 1700s. Figuring she could do something helpful for the team for once, she’d dragged him out to the closest restaurant that served salads and forced him to eat at least 3 different veggies, and also made him get a smoothie at the station on the way home too. He’d been excessively grateful, thanking her over and over, but he always acted like that around food. It hadn’t been a date or anything, just a smart tactical decision for the team.
“Then there’s the way you always hold his hand when we’re outside.”
Futaba blushed. That one was weird, she had to give Akira that. She’d just about fainted from embarrassment the first time Yusuke’d grabbed her wrist to drag her along in a crowd, but it had been a very efficient way to get through it quickly without getting lost — he had such long legs, she often had trouble keeping up. From then on, she’d started grabbing his hand anytime they were in a crowded area, and maybe when they weren’t too. It wasn’t some sort of romantic thing; she just felt safer that way. His warm hand in hers reminded her that she wasn’t alone, like a physical memento of the whole team’s support, and made it easier to deal with the slew of fears she still had. And if she’d started interlacing their fingers, that was only because their grip felt more secure that way. It had nothing to do with how soft his fingertips were against the back of her hand.
“And when we’re in the Metaverse, you always cast your support spells on him first.”
Now Futaba was getting annoyed. Had Akira been studying her or something? This was starting to sound like an interrogation, and he wasn’t letting her get a word in edgewise. He was wrong, and that was that. Did she boost or heal Yusuke first? Well, he was taller, so he probably just attracted her skill to him automatically; after all, she was casting them from above, so that would make sense. Or maybe he was the most injured, which meant he needed her help the most, and was she supposed to ignore that just because Akira would get weird notions if she didn’t? Clearly it wasn’t like she was doing it on purpose.
“But the main reason I asked, is that lately you’ve only made time to hang out with me when he’s not available.”
“How do you know when he’s available?”
“I am the leader, of this team, you know. I have all your calendars memorized so I can choose the best days to take us into the Metaverse,” he replied, ruffling her hair. “For example, I know Fridays are bad because that’s when your favorite anime airs and you’ll be distracted the whole time over missing it.”
“I am not — anyway, that’s not true, I don’t pick him over you!”
“Really? So you could have seen Yusuke tonight, but you came here?”
“Well, no, he’s at an art show, but that’s not the point! Anyway, I know you’re only here because Ryuji’s busy with his mom today, so you’re one to talk!” She stuck her tongue out at him, proud of her retort.
“Ah, but I have no issue admitting I love Ryuji,” he replied with a smug smile.
Futaba froze, and all her thoughts from the last fifteen minutes suddenly caught up with her. She spent all her time with him. She found him entertaining to listen to even though he was, objectively, really boring. She was familiar enough with his appearance to notice a slight change and worried about his health to the point of buying him dinner. She liked to hold his hand, felt safe in public when he was around, unconsciously prioritized him for support spells if Akira was to be believed, and would always choose hanging out with him over anyone else.
She slid limply off the couch into a pile on the ground, hiding her head against her knees.
“I’m in love… Shit!”
She heard Akira come to sit down next to her, and lifted her head to look at him when he laid a hand on her shoulder.
“Why him? Why me? Why? I never asked for this!”
Akira shrugged. “If you find out, let me know. I still can’t understand why I fell for my dorky best friend with the terrible fashion sense instead of one of the many gorgeous girls who throw themselves at me daily,” he said, trademark flirty smile on his lips as he posed with a hand beneath his chin.
She swatted at him and rolled her eyes. “You absolute narcissist.”
“I can’t help that I was born beautiful,” he said with a silly, over exaggerated pout, before smirking in a dangerously playful way. “So, back to my original question. When are you going to ask him out?”
“Never, oh my god, Akira!” Not in a million damn years. There was no change of heart strong enough to give her the courage for that, and obviously Yusuke didn’t like her back, so there was no point, and —
Akira was pulling his phone out, and she jumped at him. “Don’t you dare tell him! Or anyone else!”
He pushed himself away from her with his hands up, one holding his phone with the screen towards her. “I wasn’t going to, I just got a message!”
She looked at the screen suspiciously. There did seem to be a notification from the Phantom Thieves chat dating back just a few seconds. Still…
“If you tell anyone, I’ll send your full chat history with Ryuji to the group chat,” she threatened.
His gasp, entirely genuine, made her wonder if she ought to check it, then just as quickly realise the last thing she wanted to do was check it. “You wouldn’t!”
“Try me.”

New Banner, New Chapters!
Tumblr media
Embers is a fic written by the creators of this blog, @aihodineverlark and @fleim6696. It has, since first posting last year, gone through revision and rewrite—meaning that while there is a new image to see, there are also new chapters to read! The content has been completely revamped, so if you’ve been following the fic on AO3 or elsewhere, you’ll want to dive into the new stuff!
Right now the revision is only posted on AO3. You can read the first 2 chapters here. As far as updating goes, we have the first 11 written, and will be posting weekly until we’re caught up.
Summary: It's been ten years since the war that ended the reign of President Snow and the Hunger Games—ten years that Katniss and Peeta have spent living a peaceful, happy life with their two children in District Twelve. That all changes the moment a mysterious girl with a link to their past shows up on their doorstep, forcing Katniss to call in some favors and stop a new threat before it grows to something that can't be controlled.
Join Katniss, Peeta, and a whole new cast of characters on their journey to secure Panem's future for the better, and for good. Book One of The Embers Series.
The first chapter is also be available under the cut if you’re interested.
Chapter 1: The Visitor
As Katniss walks past the damaged bird statue leading into the Victor’s Village, she spots her husband, Peeta, leaned over the primrose bushes in their front yard. His back is turned while he works the roots, but he looks up at a shout from across the grass. A light, girly giggle follows, and Katniss shifts her gaze, too. There she sees her two children, Elsey and Trev—the dark-haired, blue-eyed girl and the blond, grey-eyed boy.
A smile lifts the corners of her mouth as she watches her son try to keep up with his sister.
Katniss had always told herself that she would never have kids. Between Snow’s iron leadership and the Games, the fear of losing anyone that she might bring into the world was too much to bear, and something she didn’t want to risk. That hadn’t changed even two years after the war, when she was still fresh from burns and losing her sister.
Then, something did. With the help of Peeta, she’d started to heal; and in that regard, they helped each other. They grew back together. And, even in light of everything that had happened, he found a way to still have hope.
She couldn’t help but be optimistic about the future, too. When he pulled her out of nightmares and still had cause to laugh about something she said the next morning… How could she not?
She knew he wanted kids someday. He always had, but he never pushed her, especially not then, so early in their relationship.
It was one summer morning that she spent out in the woods that made her rethink her position on the idea.
She’d seen a doe—one that, usually, she wouldn’t hesitate to shoot.
But there was one difference from all the others.
This one had a fawn. And the sight softened Katniss’s heart.
Suddenly, the reasons that she didn’t want a family didn’t hold weight anymore. The war had long since ended; Snow had been replaced with a better president in Paylor; and the Games were out the door as soon as Coin had fallen with an arrow in her chest. As far as she was concerned, they didn’t know what would happen, but it shouldn’t hold her back from being happy.
And Prim would have wanted her to be happy.
Elsey was born when she was twenty-one. Trev came (sort of as a surprise, but a blessing all the same) three years later.
The memory fades as she walks past Haymitch’s house in the neighborhood of victors’ mansions. A majority of them still sit empty, with the only occupied being those awarded to herself, Peeta, and their mentor.
It sometimes feels empty, but Katniss secretly relishes in the privacy of it all. She and Peeta were able to raise their children in peace, away from prying eyes, and Haymitch was free to… well, drink, though he’d lessened from the binges of his old days. He’d taken up raising geese, which was good.
As she reaches the edge of her yard, Katniss wonders where the snippy man she’s known to see has been in the last few days. She doesn’t remember seeing him on his porch. And she doesn’t remember hearing the geese up at all hours of the night, squawking, either.
It strikes her as odd.
“Mama!”
The thought leaves as quickly as it came with the arrival of her seven-year-old daughter, who latches onto her waist. Elsey’s smile is as wide and energetic as always. It’s easy to forget whatever worry Katniss has when she sees it.
“Hey, sweetheart,” she says, bending down to drop her game bag to the ground and pick her little girl up. “You having fun?”
“Yeah!” Elsey says, loud in her ear. “We played tag and hide and seek and a really cool, new kind of tag called freeze tag… which was kind of hard with only three people…”
“Oh, did you? That sounds great!”
“Yeah,” the quiet voice of her brother pipes in. Being the shy type, it’s not uncommon for him to speak in short phrases. He walks next to his father as he comes to greet her. When he reaches her, the blond boy fists his chubby hands in Katniss’s shirt.
“Hey, Trev.” Katniss runs her hand lightly through her son’s unruly blond curls.
“Hi...”
In her arms, Elsey continues to talk.
Katniss grins at Peeta amidst all the noise.
He steps closer to peck her cheek.
“Good hunt?” he asks.
“Yeah, it went pretty well.”
“That’s good.” He leans down to pick up Trev. “Come on, guys. Let’s go inside. It’s pretty hot out here.” Before he turns toward the house, he grabs Katniss’s game bag by the strap.
“Thanks,” Katniss mouths at him through Elsey’s chatter. She’s talking about everything else she did that day, and what she’d like to do tomorrow, and how she’s hungry and hopes mommy caught the “bestest” dinner ever…
“We could have rabbit stew tonight,” Katniss suggests as they reach the door. “I caught a few in my snares this morning.” She sets Elsey down, and the little girl begins jumping up and down.
“Rabbit stew!” she echoes back excitedly.
When Peeta lets Trev go, he does much the same, only more subdued and with a few claps added.
“Sounds like it’s a hit,” Peeta says, ruffling his son’s hair. The four of them walk inside, and the kids immediately make their way up the stairs to where their toys are.
Once left alone, Katniss turns to her husband. He wraps the arm that doesn’t hold her bag around her waist to pull her closer. They meet in a short, chaste kiss.
Katniss sighs, and when she pulls away, her gaze goes to where their children went.
“I feel like they’re growing up a lot faster than I’d like,” she says.
“That’s because they are,” Peeta replies. “It feels like just yesterday that we decided to start trying…”
Katniss elbows him, even though he’s right. It doesn’t feel like ten years have passed since the war. It doesn’t even feel like two. Some days, she feels as if she’s still in the thick of it, and others, it’s like she’s in a completely separate world altogether.
The constant is Peeta, her little girl and little boy. That’s what makes all the difference.
“I know what you mean,” Katniss muses, and goes to take the game from him when he side-steps her.
“Ah-ah.” There’s teasing in Peeta’s voice. “I’m going to handle the stew. Why don’t you go relax for a bit? You were out a long time today.”
A smile spreads over Katniss’s face. She is easy to persuade on that point—at least today. It was warm once the sun came out, and she could go for cleaning up. She decides to head to the bathroom and grab a quick shower.
When she comes out, hair dripping in a loose braid, Peeta is at the stove and the kids are still in their room.
As she passes by him, she inhales a whiff of the spices and cooking vegetables and meat. It smells delicious.
She tells him as much.
“Did you have a good shower?” Peeta asks.
Katniss nods, reaching around him for a chunk of carrot from the cutting board.
Peeta pokes her nose. “Hey, you have to wait for dinner like everybody else…”
“Like you haven’t been ‘taste testing’ this entire time…” Katniss actually uses air quotes when she says this.
“Okay, true.”
“Is it almost ready?” Katniss asks.
Peeta checks the timer. “In about twenty minutes or so, yes.”
Katniss puts her hand on her husband’s shoulder, rubbing into the muscles at the base of his neck. Then she leans her head on him for a minute. Eventually she leaves with little words and wanders over into the living room to flip through the stations on TV.
She doesn’t watch it all that much, so when she does, it’s mostly for a general update. Most of the shows are political, anyway, which is not interesting to either she or Peeta. They’ve both seen enough propaganda to last a lifetime. There’s also Plutarch’s singing show, but that got old after its fifth season; it’s on its tenth now.
After quickly becoming bored, Katniss settles on an old interview with President Paylor. She doesn’t remember seeing it.
On-screen, footage plays of her inauguration. It pauses when Paylor raises her right hand.
The camera cuts to a man in a tightly-pressed suit.
“Now, how did that feel?” he prompts.
Katniss isn’t able to hear the president’s answer, because Peeta’s voice brings her back to reality.
“Elsey! Trev!” he calls. “Dinner’s ready!”
Katniss shuts the television off and goes to help her family settle down at the table.
______
Like most nights, dinner is pretty quiet while everyone eats. Only the sound of spoons on bowls is heard until everyone finishes their first serving of stew. Elsey sits across from Peeta, with Trev across from Katniss.
Reaching for another roll, Katniss asks, “So, Elsey, what did you learn in school today?”
Elsey pauses mid-bite, her mouth turning into a scowl that Peeta would say matches her mother’s. “Mostly boring stuff,” she answers, putting the spoon in her mouth.
She doesn’t like school very much.
“Oh, come on,” Peeta says. “There has to be something interesting.”
Elsey sighs dramatically. “Okay.” She sets her spoon down next to her bowl. “They started talking about something called the ‘Dark Days’ today.” It’s clear she isn’t interested in the subject as she explains. “Some new history thing, I guess. Some war that started because a bunch of guys disagreed over… something, I don’t remember.”
“History is cool,” Katniss supplies, tearing off a piece of roll and popping it into her mouth. She exchanges a look with Peeta, who gives her a reassuring nod.
“Eh.” Elsey waves her hand in a so-so motion. “It’s not my favorite. I don’t really see why we had to have a war. What’s fighting going to solve? And guns are scaaaary.”
“I agree,” Peeta says. “But sadly, some conflicts can’t always be solved with words.”
“I wish they could.” Elsey picks up her spoon again. She continues to finish her stew, and, after, Katniss sends the kids to their room so she and Peeta can talk.
As Elsey and Trev go down the hall to do their homework, she says, “That was a close one.”
Katniss grabs her bowl along with the others and walks over to the kitchen sink. She begins washing them out, and Peeta comes up behind her moments later.
“I know,” he replies. He kneads his hands into her shoulder blades for a few moments, and Katniss lets the tension melt away from her spine. “Are you okay?”
"Yeah.” She continues to work on the dishes. “I'm just glad she hasn't gotten to us yet. I'm nowhere near ready to have that conversation…”
“I don't think I am, either,” Peeta admits. “But, at least her views on the whole thing are logical.”
“I guess.”
It’ll still be a year or two before Elsey will get to the unit that begins with President Snow. It’ll be another year before she learns about the 74th Hunger Games.
Two years. Then, the truth comes out—the ugly, bloody truth.
Katniss’s thoughts are interrupted by the insistent knocking on the front door. It sounds frantic.
“I’ll get it,” she says, rinsing the soap from her hands. She dries them, and Peeta turns the water off as she makes her way over to the front door. She opens it and sees an unfamiliar young woman standing on the porch, all green eyes and perfect skin, her dirty blonde hair pulled up into a ponytail. She wears a fancy blue blouse, though the sleeves are ripped and Katniss thinks she sees dirt on the torso.
She’s never seen her around here before.
“Hello?” Katniss asks. “How may I help you?”
"You're Katniss Everdeen, right?" the woman asks.
“Um, yes.” Katniss opens the door wider as she senses Peeta behind her. “But it’s Mellark, now. Who are you?"
"My name is Taylor Bernstein,” the woman introduces herself. “Can I come in? I need to talk to you about President Paylor. She's not as nice as you think she might be.”
“Um…”
“Yes, of course,” Peeta answers for her.
Katniss looks towards him in surprise.
“We may as well hear her out,” he mouths.
“Thank you,” Taylor sighs in relief.
Katniss awkwardly steps back to let the blonde in. All the while, the hairs on the back of her neck tingle.
This doesn’t feel right.
Peeta leads the three of them to the living room, then takes his seat beside his wife on the couch. Taylor takes the recliner near the television.
Before Taylor can say another word, Katniss cuts in.
“Why should we trust you?” Her incredulous tone is sharp even to her own ears.
Taylor sighs. She grips her knees.
“You knew my sister,” she begins quietly, her eyes darting around the room with suspicion.
“What?” Katniss asks, and squints to see if there’s any recollect. “If I did, it must have been a very long time. I’ve no idea who.”
“Well, that’s because it’s been about… twelve years. And I’m not from around here.”
Twelve years?
“Where are you from?”
“District One,” Taylor answers.
“That’s pretty far away,” Katniss says.
“Who was your sister?” Peeta asks from beside her.
Taylor takes another deep breath, hesitation in her eyes, before:
“Glimmer. My sister was Glimmer.”

“hey connor, what the hell is happening with jump?
+aka, for those of you looking for answers.
fair warning this is a very long story, and it isn't a very nice one. for the sake of not being a huge asshole, i'll refrain from mentioning the other party by name/url/ao3 handle/whatever, because i'd rather not send the dogs after this person like they were for me.
and to those of you who have been following me since mid-to-late august (around when this whole thing started) (and, coincidentally, when jump became the most popular fic in the dear evan hansen tag on ao3, but we'll ignore that little detail), you might know who the other person is in this whole situation. i know most of my friends do, and for my friends and otherwise please don't go after this person. don't reblog with their name or fic title or whatever, because the point of this post is to serve as an explanation for why jump is going down, not start a manhunt for this other person.
i digress.
around mid-august, i began receiving comments and a few asks regarding a chapter of jump (28, to be specific). in essence, they were saying that i had "ripped off" a certain plot point of a certain fic, which. to be honest i didn't think a whole lot of? because the messages i received didn't say anything about what i had ripped off, just that i had done it.
it came to a point where i messaged the author of this other fic and briefly explained the situation, and made my case. i got a response sometime the next day and it wasn't one i was hoping for.
which, of course, i've accepted that at this point - people think i did plagiarize. the author of the other work thinks that i did. i know that i didn't, but i need to acknowledge and accept that a lot of people think i did.
what i didn't accept was the "term" i was given - to put a note on the chapter in question crediting this author for the "original idea."
which, you know, was offensive to me - because jump had always been my idea. despite what was being said, i knew that i hadn't read the sections of the other fic that i was accused of stealing, before i had published my own chapter. so i couldn't have taken the idea, if that makes sense?
i didn't respond to the other author's message, and that was wrong of me. i know that that was shitty of me to not offer a response, and there isn't really an excuse for that? but it happened, and it was shitty, but.
for the most part, things quieted down for a bit when i posted chapter 29, and i rather naively assumed that things had permanently gone quiet. i'd made an incredibly long statement in the end notes of the chapter, and i said that if anyone wanted to say anything further they could feel free to pm me, because it was counterproductive to yell arguments at each other through my inbox. funnily enough, no one took that offer and messaged me, but i can't say i'm surprised. without the shield of anon, people tend to not disagree so violently.
after 30 got posted, however, things sort of exploded.
immediately people took it upon themselves to leave nasty comments and asks in my inbox, which hurt but at this point i had come to expect it from the whole situation.
sometime after that, the callout was posted.
which, of course, made me freak the fuck out.
what was worse was that i found it on accident; someone reblogged a post of mine with something nasty and i was confused so i checked their blog, and. well.
it had the title of my fic all over it, it was in the main tags, and i knew immediately when asks started piling up that none of them were going to be good. and they weren't. i haven't gotten death threats a whole lot, but that day was definitely a peak in me receiving them.
there was.....a lot in the callout, and it took me a good few hours to get myself to a state where i could read it without freaking out again.
this was early on in the post, where i was accused of shot for shot rewriting sections of a certain chapter of this other fic, when, again, i hadn't read it until chapter 28 was posted and chapter 30 was long since drafted and in the process of being written, but. (the bit of the sentence that is cut off reads "however, as the author of [fic], chapters 28 and 30 read like-")
Tumblr media
note how no proof of this is provided, or anything beyond the chapter numbers.
this next bit is from the pm i received from them, and it's interesting in how it reflects the author's...i dont know how to describe it. i suppose arrogance is the best word i can find? for them to insinuate that their work is so well known enough that even if people haven't read it, they'd know about it.
(cut off sentence: “at the very least, the final chapters of [fic] are pretty-”)
Tumblr media
the same sentiment is reflected here, in the callout.
Tumblr media
the callout also points out that there's no indication of where i got the plot for jump, and that's because i made up the plot. the idea to kickstart the story i got from a prompt blog (here, if you're interested) and it states very explicitly in its terms of submission (here) that anyone submitting an idea for a prompt gives full permission to anyone to use it, credit unnecessary.
Tumblr media
so that isn't exactly a 'gotcha!' point.
the last bits of the callout talk about me being rude to fans and making vague posts on tumblr, which. no proof provided so i, again, have no idea what they constitute as rude or vague.
Tumblr media
it was.....a lot. and i had no idea what to do. i was scared, and i didn't know how to deal with having the fans of some 26 year old coming after me like that. i shut off anon, and i took a break of a day or so from tumblr, and that was pretty much that?
until two weeks ago, when i received this email from archive of our own:
Tumblr media
so, things had obviously escalated. things had moved from calling me out publicly, to moving to get my work deleted. it messed me up pretty bad, and for a while i was freaking out.
after a day or so, a few of my close friends (one of which who has had prolonged access to both the jump writing document and the planning document) and i emailed ao3 with our appeals. i don't currently have copies of my friends' appeals, and all that is in mine was essentially what i've said publicly, with a few mentions of previous incidents. after a two week wait period as they reviewed my appeal, i received this email last night:
Tumblr media
it strikes me how again, it's said that i shot for shot (or rather, replaced synonyms and the like) took this fic, but then again i'm not given specific instances, and then in the same paragraph it mentions that "whether you intentionally plagiarized or did it subconsciously after reading their fic, you are still responsible for the content." i don't understand how i could have taken scenes one by one and replaced synonyms, but also "subconsciously" plagiarize?
and, better yet, how can i plagiarize something i hadn't read until after the accused chapter was posted?
let me just say that i don't know for certain it was the author that made the complaint, but i would bet a whole lot on that possibility. even if it wasn't them who made the claim, they have to be notified because it involves their work. so.
and that's essentially where we're at now. jump is being deleted on november 10th, one way or another. and i am so, so angry.
i understand wanting to protect one's work. it's the reason i've maintained my innocence, and appealed to ao3. i want to protect my work from accusations i know aren't true.
but to have something i've worked so hard on for nearly seven months ripped from my hands? it's not fair. it's quite honestly bullshit.
this isn't meant to convince any of you one way or another of what happened, because you can all think for yourselves. whether you believe me or not, at this point it doesn't matter, because jump has already been sentenced to its fate.
but i know what i did and didn't do. i wouldn't still be fighting this if i wasn't sure of my innocence.
i'm angry. i'm going to be angry for a long time. this whole situation has made me fucking hate even looking at my writing anymore. what would possess someone to go so far as to get my work deleted, i don't really know.
as the author has stated, no one really "owns" fanfiction. so what gives them the right to take my work away from me? my accomplishments?
i hold no ill will towards the other author, but i hate this situation and i hate what they've done. i hate that there is someone in their mid twenties out there who has taken it upon themselves to take away a 17 year old's passion project.
am i bitter? yes. and i'm not apologetic for it. i didn't plagiarize anyone in regards to jump, plain and simple. no matter what anyone else says, i know the truth, and the people i care about know the truth, and i can't do a thing about anyone else, so it doesn't really matter.
a few friends have asked for me to make jump available by other means, and i'm considering it. because even though the hits and comments will be deleted, as its always been, jump has been for my own enjoyment. for me to tell a story i think needed to be told. and just because it's being cut short doesn't mean it still isn't worth telling.
if i do make it available elsewhere, i'll let people know. but this is where i leave you for now.
like i said in the beginning of this stupidly long post, please don't go off and attack this author. i'm angry, but taking it out on them will do nothing. it will only make things worse. jump is being deleted, and no amount of nastiness will change that. so we may as all just be nice.
if any of you have anymore questions, feel free to message me or send me an ask. anything general or non-specific i'll answer in asks, but if you have anything you'd like clarification on in regards to specifics, please message me privately.
and. um. i guess that's it?
thanks for reading. i’m sorry. i wish they hadn’t taken it this far.

The MIND really MATTERS !
Now that the last of the festive satsumas have finally been finished and the most wonderful time of the year is now just an empty Advent calendar, it’s time to move on.
Yes another New Year and never have we needed more, to check that the old one really has left the building. Goodbye 2020 and very good riddance.
The last 12 months have been pretty unpleasant for all of us. Let’s be clear about it, 2020 was absolutely horrible. With Covid-19 and the the inherent health risks it has presented, the seemingly endless lockdowns, so many restrictions & so much uncertainty, it’s been tough.
None of us like uncertainty but then add in that we folk, living with ITP already have plenty to think about and even more so those of us who are on immune suppressing drugs to control our enigmatic condition. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the perfect storm !
I have written before about the impact of being diagnosed with and living with ITP on our mental health but the latest Covid-19 pandemic and everything that goes with it, clearly ratchets things up  a few notches. The impact that it has had on our mental health is one of the most testing and often hidden aspects of the pandemic.
It is important to understand that we all have different levels of tolerance for uncertainty and stress. We all have different perspectives and we need to recognise that what one person may find easy to adapt to and live with, another person may see as a major crisis. I always try to remember the old saying that you should never judge someone before you walk a mile in their shoes.
The initial impact that my ITP had on me when I was diagnosed in 2006 was definitely more mental than physical. I had never been unwell before in my life so the arrival of ITP completely shocked me, knocked my confidence and undermined my self belief.
Trickier still was getting across to other people, the mental fatigue that the illness inflicts upon us. It's the uncertainty. We are on the lookout all the time for any signs of mystery bruising, nose bleeds, gum bleeds or worse. It's part of our routine.
But, over time, I gradually learned to cope with it and my ITP diagnosis prompted me to re-assess the direction that my life needed to take as I moved forward. It gave me an opportunity to take a good look at the things that I really wanted to do and how I wanted to do them. I got the chance to completely reprioritise and reorder my life.
Now I am not suggesting that everyone do exactly what I did but I can definitely recommend reassessing where you are & what you want to do. It is probably something we all say that we will do but never get around to. Life just happens while we are making other plans, sounds familiar !
As we forge ahead with new optimism for 2021, the following are ……
Things that I have found helpful -
Talk to your family and friends about your ITP - it helps to let those closest to you know what you are going through, what they might expect from you & how they can help.
Join the regular ITP Support Association ZOOM Local support group meetings & the Annual Convention. They are a wonderful way to connect with others & have eminent specialists in ITP available to put questions to.
Make use of the FREE ITP Support Association HealthUnlocked platform at https://healthunlocked.com/itpsupport. It is a forum written by us, for us to share experiences, knowledge & support each other.
Read the ITP Support Association website regularly as it has plenty of up to date, reliable information, frequently updated www.itpsupport.org.uk
Do NOT feel alone. The ITP Support Association has a panel of Patient Mentors available FREE of charge to MEMBERS. We also have FREE of charge to everyone (Members or not) a lively Facebook Group, TWITTER & Instagram Feeds.
TWITTER - Please feel free to Direct Message me on my personal TWITTER feed if you want a chat or someone to sound off to. None of us know all the answers but we can all help each other. My TWITTER feed is @Patch1Purple.
Keeping busy. Especially with Covid-19 lockdowns & restrictions we have all felt more isolated than usual.
The Following things are those which have kept me busy during lockdown  (many of them part of my routine pre Covid-19 too) -
A) Gardening, I have been growing some of my own fruit and vegetables for the last 10 years & I am never short of work to do. Roll on Spring !
B) Reading, I read on average one book per week but still cannot bring myself to love E-Books. Must be my age !
C) Listening to music - I have over 3000 vinyl records so I have plenty of material to get through. Music has always been a huge passion but during this pandemic it has become vital.
D) Listening to PodCasts - my favourites are sport, music, gardening or book related.
E) Visiting favourite museums/galleries online - personal favourites are The Wallace Collection, The Sir John Soane Museum, The National Gallery, The Ashmolean, The British Museum, Tate Britain , The Museum of London & The London Transport Museum but options are numerous.
F) Using the Future Learn programme of FREE online courses at https://www.futurelearn.com to explore a wide range of subjects.
G) Utilising You Tube to explore information from the ITP Support Association and the Platelet Disorder Support Association, & of course any other subjects that may interest you,.
H) Listen to the Radio - I tune into the Robert Elms Show on BBC Radio London most mornings & BBC Radio Berkshire for local news.
I) Watch some TV - my favourite for 2020 was The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix but there is plenty available on all channels, especially the BBCi player.
J) Keeping in touch with family, friends, colleagues via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or just pick up the phone.
K) Watching an online /virtual music performance, my chosen venue is Ronnie Scott’s and they have regular FREE live streams at https://www.ronniescotts.co.uk
L) Getting some exercise, A 30 minute brisk walk daily is enough. Just ensure you observe the Covid-19 social distancing & other guidelines BUT don’t overdo things (always consult your medical professional about how much exercise you should or can do).
 M) Writing, I try to post something every week to my blog but you may wish to start writing or take up another creative hobby like painting, drawing, cooking, photography, etc.
AND - Finally - Don’t forget to eat a healthy, balanced diet, drink plenty of water and get restful sleep.
Here’s to a happy, healthy 2021 !
PS - Anyone who wishes to read a full account of my ITP story since my diagnosis in 2006 will find everything about my ITP experience in my book -

February 2018 Fic Roundup
For the month of February I am attempting to do the thing where I am punctual in posting my end of month roundup post. This got really long and I’m not sorry, but it’s all going under a cut anyways. It was a big month for me.
If you want to know what’s coming in March, here’s my calendar. It’s up to date. I promise.
Oneshots
So it was the month of February and that meant that the big driving force behind everything was Femslash. I wanted to really work with pairings that I hadn’t touched before, and there were a couple of events that I was more than happy to participate in.
Freelancers Don’t Cry  - [Ao3]
Freelancers don’t cry- especially in the locker room where anyone can see them. South knows this, but Connie is new and could probably use a guide. South is happy to provide.
This is the fic that made me realize just how much I actually love Agent South Dakota and Agent Connecticut. it was just a lot of fun to write and I liked being able to weave in little bits of foreshadowing for how things would go in the future for our Freelancers. Also, South’s internal dialogue was fun as all hell to write.
Hotter Than The Sun - [Ao3]
There are lot of things about Blood Gulch that are kind of awful. It's always hot and gross, and 90% of the people there suck.
The other 10%? In Kai's opinion- that's Tex, and she's always hot.
Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely love writing Kaikaina Grif? Or that she’s 100% the most fun character to write for? No? Well she is and I love writing her point of view because of just how much there is to play with in how she thinks and talks alone. This fic? I like this fic. I hope you guys like this fic too.
Bloom and Grow- [Ao3] [FFN]
With the ashes of war settled, Blake is finally able to come home. The only problem is that she has no idea what to do with her future now that she’s done fighting. Ilia can help.
Catmeleon week was this month! RWBY5 did quite a bit with Ilia and Blake both, and the plot involving Menagerie was actually pretty interesting. I was left wondering what things might look like for its future once everything in Remnant calmed down. There was conveniently a prompt for that.
From Square One- [Ao3] [FFN]
Ever since the incident at Vale's docks, Weiss knows that she's been tiptoeing around Blake's presence. It's time to fix that, and some honesty is a good place to start.
You know what was also in the month of February? Monochrome Week! One of the periods in the timeline of RWBY that I never really knew how to deal with was that awkward time just following the ending of Season 1. It was a nice chance to dabble in that time period and play with some of the things that we see come later in Blake and Weiss’ canon relationship. All in all, it was a lot of fun to work on.
Elegance- [Ao3]
Agent South Dakota is really the person least suited to go on a mission at some uptight party. Really, this isn't something that she belongs in at all. Carolina's better suited for the job. They just have to get in, get out, and try not to leave too much of an impression.
This should be easy.
This was probably my overall favorite fic that I wrote for femslash february. The story was one that was just stuck in my head for several days before I added it to my official roster and got started on it. I can genuinely say that there wasn’t a single moment where I didn’t enjoy writing the story or the way that things were coming out in the final product. I’m just really happy with it.
Multichapter Fics
As far as February of 2018 has gone, the things that I’m working on in the multi-chapter category have been a little bit more than a surprise. The month ended up feeling like it was productive on an almost unprecedented level, even though my output was probably about the same. For all three of my multichapter fics, I saw them either closing their third acts, or major changes happening in their plots, or changes in structure or something which to me has been very real.
So here’s looking forward to March.
Evening Report - [Ao3] [FFN] [Fic Tag]
Blake Belladonna has one job in her life, and its to provide accurate information in a timely manner. A relatively mundane story is all that it takes to throw her into direct contact with Weiss Schnee, whose family secrets could make or break Blake’s career as a journalist.
Chapter 13/30: black and blues -  [Ao3] [FFN]
A quick trip to the airport and a sleepover help clear up a lot of the more fine points of Weiss' current arrangement.
Chapter 14/30: play the game -  [Ao3] [FFN]
A new player enters the game.
So the first thing that you might notice looking at this is that there is finally a stated ending point for this fic. The month of February kind of breezed by with this fic and I was mostly tying up loose ends where I was in the story. I finished writing the epilogue chapter last night! The update schedule will be staying the same.
Published this month was only the halfway point for the story. There is still much, much more to come and my hope is that you all like where this goes and where it will eventually end up.
Currently Writing: Nothing. This fic is in the editing and updating only stage of its existence.
Next Chapter: Chapter 15 - March 9th. Chapter 16 - March 23.
The Bones of a God - [Ao3] [FFN] [Fic Tag]
Once upon a time, monsters roamed the entire world, so plentiful that they needed countless numbers to fight them off. 13 years ago, that changed. Grimm died off suddenly and stopped proliferating. Now the few Creatures of Grimm that are left are too large and powerful to be taken down in “the old ways.”
That doesn’t make them any less of a threat.
The real problem comes when people decide it’s for the best that they start picking sides in a war starting anew
Chapter 33/?: Into The Woods - [Ao3] [FFN]
In the woods, anything can happen.
Chapter 34/?: Special Interests - [Ao3] [FFN]
Unexpected meetings occur all around.
I’ve talked about this fic to some extent and what’s happening with it, and there’s actually quite a lot that I need to go over in a formal setting. For simplicity’s sake, I’ve decided to present this information to you in the form of a numbered list.
I am expecting to be finishing writing Bones Book 1 by the end of March, with it clocking in at around 50 chapters in total. The update schedule is going to remain the same until Evening Report finishes publishing. After that, the story will return to weekly status.
The fic currently posted is going to be renamed at a later date to “The Bones of a God - Book One: Ichor” and will be made the first part of a series because this is going to be the best way to split the story up and will allow me to make some changes.
After Book One is finished, I am going to start writing a story that takes place 20 years before the events of the story’s start. This is going to focus on a cast of five characters when they were younger. Those characters will be the adult POV characters present in Book Two. Five chapters in total, will be posted after Book One is finished posting.
I have started the planning of Book Two to some degree. Once I’m ready to start work on it, I’m going to do just that.
Currently Writing: Chapter 47 out of what I’m expecting to be a 50 chapter fic.
Next Chapters: Chapter 35 - March 2nd. Chapter 36 - March 16. Chapter 37 - March 30
always at your six -  [Ao3] [Fic Tag]
The Mother of Invention went down barely a year ago, and the time in between has been rough for York and Delta. It’s been tough for Tex too, but she has information, and she needs someone to help her get some things before someone can beat her to it.
It’s a good thing York’s out of work.
Chapter 2/?: sympathetic - [Ao3]   Tex, York, and Delta move forward on their mission- starting with some grand theft..
This fic has been consistently a lot of fun to work on for me, and the first one with a soundtrack type playlist that I can actually listen to on repeat without getting bored with it. I’ve had to change a lot of things though on my end, so I’m currently writing the first interlude chapter for this fic. I’m considering amping up my update schedule to twice a month, but haven’t made a real decision yet.
The main thing to know is that the scope of what this was supposed to be has gotten blown out of the water and also that I love Agent South Dakota.
Currently Writing: Interlude One - South Dakota. To be posted after chapter 5 in the story. Main story has reached the end of Chapter 9. Will write Chapter 10 and Interlude Two after Interlude One is complete.
Next Chapters: Chapter 3 - March 22.
Prompts and Tumblr Only
The Scrap Blog saw its updates on the seventeenth of the month as planned. Chapters 3-4/20 in the Emercury Stripper AU “things in the dark” are now available for reading. The masterpost for that fic can be found here.
There was also an old North Dakota/York fic I wrote several months back posted there. Tristesse.
Arrowhead - A Pyrrha/Cinder Drabble that I wrote for... some reason.

Admin Post - Dec. 6, 2017
Hello! Admin Z here. This post has been long overdue.
This blog was created in 2013 between Admin A and I under the name super-junior-fanfiction-craze. Since then, not a lot has happened, and I sincerely apologize for us being so inactive. At the time it was made, I was a junior in high school who had dropped out of a lot of extracurricular activities, spent an increasing amount of time on tumblr, and wanted a fanfiction space for my favorite kpop group of all time to call my own. But I’m sorry we never really took off.
Now, I am a senior in college, set to graduate in June! So many years have passed since I’ve written anything, (and so many things have happened to Super Junior as well!). Admin A left this blog quite a bit ago, but I’ve decided I definitely want to keep this blog up and accessible, especially because I know there are not many suju-centric fanfic blogs running anymore, or even in existence (some of my favorites too :((( ).
But that’s why I’m writing now, to let our small group of followers (and anyone else) know I will be revamping this blog! I deleted a lot of old posts and currently am just working on organizing the different pages. Some of the changes/updates that I’ve decided about where this blog will go from here:
first and foremost, the name! superjuniorfanfics became an available url so I snatched it haha. short, sweet, and to the point - i hope it will bring in more readers!
secondly, check out the submit page for detailed information on requesting and submitting fics! this blog is primarily for MemberxReader oneshots (because I don’t prefer to write MemberxMember and I’m not very good at it lol) but submitted fics can be any pairing :)
thirdly, i’m making a disclaimer now: despite my unwavering love for super junior and interest in getting back into writing, I still can’t make any promises about how active this blog will be. a lot of it depends on my available time, the requests received, etc. and tbh if i don’t have requests to write, this will probably just turn into a personal collection dump of fics i write whenever i feel like it (unless ppl submit their own of course!! ;) )
fourth, the requests that still haven’t been written, WILL BE WRITTEN AND THEY WILL BE WRITTEN BEFORE ANY NEW REQUESTS I PROMISE THAT. again, i am so so sorry we weren’t active enough to get those out in a timely manner. if you are someone who requested something literally years ago hello ily for giving us a chance i hope you are doing well and that i write the best fic you’ve ever read lol.
also, i still currently have that segment i created called “Click and Drag Scenarios” that i will continue to do! those help me a lot tbh because the prompts are right there and they get my imagination flowing and they don’t have to be too long.
Sorry this post got SUPER long but I think I’m done now! Thank you for reading, and thank you again for your patience with this blog. I’m very excited to get this going again! I’m back and I’m better~

Nearly all of the greater bit of the population go through these small trifles and continue on with life without a second thought- but not Victor Nikiforov. He has an undying interest in a smaller YouTuber by the name of Katsuki Yuuri, and what makes it even worse, is the fact that he has no idea whatsoever as to why. He doesn't even want anyone to find out about his seeming obsession, and still, he's still watching his YouTube videos at four in the morning when he can't sleep. Better yet- he can't stop watching the younger male's videos with great integrity and character being discovered within himself. Viktor can't find himself becoming bored with whatever is drawing him to the other YouTuber, and he's even becoming concerned for his own mentality at the same time. Of course, there's no real harm, as he would never be able to meet the YouTuber in real life- that is, until he stumbles upon him at PlayList Live, and fangirls like a complete imbecile in front of thousands of his subscribers. Also, the fic in which all of the characters are absolute dorks, and Viktor is too gay and sassy to function.

This channel features a variety of videos from anti-aging potions to the creation of the Homunculus, one of Yuri's greatest achievements (other than earning gold at the Grand Prix Final the year previous). He is very proud of this fascinating discovery and made it by entering a random donor’s sperm into the yolk of an egg. After this step, he covered the egg and left it to incubate for many weeks. Over time, he has created two successful organisms and in this story attempts to make one more. This time, though, he is too impatient and the outcome is a bit… annoying. (P.S. idk russian so pretend he’s talking in russian!!!!!)
