I was thinking about the language barrier's reader a bit and thought that the inclusion of certain types of jewelry on reader looked odd to Hylians was really neat! So I looked around to see what types of jewelry Hylians could wear and the most I see them wearing are gold necklaces, bracelets, and the occasional jewel earring. Which isn't a very diverse jewelry set, but it is interesting. It got me thinking if the reader wears more gothic or alternative types of jewelry like studded rhinestone belts or spiky chained collars or even an industrial piercing on one if their ears. It can also add to the group's suspicions since they're timelines are a lot more fantastical and dark/gothic elements are more see of as apart of the evil side. They could've thought that reader was a spy or smthn! Thoughts?

This is so fucking late - IN MY DEFENSE.
I graduated college last year, moved several states over this year, am still taking a class for certifications, and then got hit by Hurricane Helene not even 6 months after moving basically right in its path. Its been a lonngggg year you guys.
So sorry abt the inactivity frequently, please try to understand, i do this in the little free time i have between work and class, and even then i have other hobbies i like to indulge in for my own mental health too lol,
so i want to have fun and chill with you guys when i can
Anyway onto the ask
ā
So true āļø anon, fun headcanons here, im so excited someone noticed that kinda obscure reference! I had noticed that abt most Loz games too, that theres usually very specific jewelry, like gold bracelets/necklaces, or only jewelry thats diff is specific to things like fairies/tribes of ppl/etc.
I dont have much thoughts tbh, u thought of more stuff than i did lmao
Love alt reader reactions (i use that as an umbrella term tbh, like covering any non-mainstream style)
Bro they def would think ur a spy š
Like, wild's out here like "guys i think the Yiga members arent even hiding it anymore š¤Ø"
(Sorry i mention wild alot, ive yet to play other loz games š dw chat i just some of the switch versions for early winter presents)
Okay but to slingshot in the other direction bc i finally had a Thought in my empty head
If u had like silvery jewelry or like very clean (pearls/beads/etc.)
Lol what if they mistook you for like a minor deity/spirit?
Bc those are some of the individuals i can think of in a few loz games who get jewelry at all/get unique pieces
Or if we're going by Guide!Reader, these silly hylians are like "oh yes, mmhm, makes sense, no wonder u have strange jewelry"
Do you think Legend would be jealous?
Do you think Legend would lowkey steal stuff trying to see if they have magicks lol
Waving around like those chunky silver gothic looking rings like "Shadows, or something! Uhh, invisibility? Ugh, Hyrule, help what's other sneaky shit Ganon's better monsters do??"
Out here looking like Kaidou Shun from Saiki K LMAO
thinkin ur apart of Dark reunion ahh š LMFAOO
Ok ok ill stop making fun of Legend, he's just so Easyyyyy
Hope that was at least somewhat fun ideas for an answer!!
Peace out āļø,

Hello everyone, well, let's get to know each otherāØ. You can call me Sima Lili, my friendship with the Sims began probably about 15 years ago, but during all this time I never post my game stuff on media, although there were a lot of ideas. We have to start somewhere, so I want to create useful things for your sims and share them with you, like lookbooks.
Today I honestly started with smart casual, but everything, as always, went wrong))) so, these outfits are a mixture of street style, casual and even elegant with ballet core, a collective mess, but I hope you like it as much as i do ā”.
Also, I apologize for my poor English, it's not my native language, so the text can sometimes look strangeš

P.S. Some things are available only with a paid subscription to authors, they will be marked with a "$" icon down below, I tried to add only details with paid cc, so they can be easily replaced and not ruin the fit.

A 'KIT FOR: A PIGLIN ! With nods towards warped forests & gold.
šæā
ĖĖš¢Ö“ą» ACCESSORIES !
LOTS OF GOLD! I'm conflicted about how you'd approach jewellery, soooo I'll give you a bunch of options to play with!
INTRICATE & ELEGANT! Like this ring + bracelet combo, this nose chain, this necklace, this chain belt and this crown! I like the crown lots 'cause it also implements the look of nether quartz.
BOLD & SIMPLE! Like this necklace, this choker, this cuff, this wallet chain, or this bracelet! Belts could also be great!! Something with a big, gold buckle could add loads to any outfit!
All-in-all. I think you should toy a lot with gold chains, buckles and bangles, I think they can very easily apply to any outfit! Consider buttons, too. And if you have any piercings, that would be great, too! Especially a septum ring! (If you don't, there's always fake ones!)
šæā
ĖĖš¢Ö“ą» DECOR !
LET ME START WITH THE SIMPLEST THINGS: this mushroom lamp, and this replica item frame. Both of them cute trinkets that ought to remind you of home. The frame even has a gold ingot option!
Now, hear me out. The first thing I think about when it comes to warped forests is the FLORA! The lush, beauuutiful mushrooms and vines are such a key part of the place! So, why not pick up gardening? Succulents would be perfect! Many members of the Echeveria genus get a beautiful blue/teal tint, and if we want to talk moss (which, I always do!) you can go with Selaginella Uncinata, better known as peacock spikemoss! Its foliage has a stunning bit of iridescence, giving it a blue tint! You've also got other options if you're after iridescence, though begonias are subtler than the mighty spikemoss.
If live plants aren't your thing, no worries! Ever heard of a moss wall?Well, YOU can make one! With dyed preserved āmossā! Which I think would be PERFECT, but I am, clearly, biased. You could also consider crochet plants! Plenty of patterns are available online, and with some teal yarn, I think you could make some real pretty decorations!
šæā
ĖĖš¢Ö“ą» KIN GEAR !
USUALLY I don't feel too comfortable recommending this sort of stuff, since I don't know what sort of thing you need to feel more at home in your skin (if anything at all!), but I DID find these real cool fake tusks and this unpainted mask. Maybe they'd be to your tastes!
šæā
ĖĖš¢Ö“ą» APPAREL !
BROWN LINEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or any linen, frankly! I think a nice overshirt, or a nice pair of loose pants made of linen could be great! It would couple perfectly with your choice of gold jewellery, too, and could look lovely with black accents (leather, perhaps?) or hints of teal! It works out great!
That's all! Oh boy, it's a lot. Anyway! I hope this is of use to you!

ā¢IDEA FOR ORGANIZATIONā¢
°for characters creation part 2°
(Part 1 here)
Pinterest boards
This is my way of doing it, you can add as many boards as you want :)
This is very helpful for me, because I can't visualize new appearances.
In the boards I usually put some parts of the appearance like the clothes, aesthetic, things like that, and I personally like to put some unnecessary stuff, just to help me to know my characters better,or maybe finding a way of helping other people know them better.
I personally don't put their appearance in the board,I let their appearances only in their notion page.
-Examples:
Well,I usually put the base board's name as "character's board" and after when I am really doing the character board I put the name of the character like "left's board"
The sub-boards:
In the sub-boards I usually put things like:
Casual clothing
Formal clothing
Winter clothing
Autumn clothing
Spring clothing
Summer clothing
Earrings
Necklaces
And I personally like to add more specific categories like, adding specific boards for pieces of clothing:
Usually I add the accessories in the top and the complete clothes category in the bottom.
Like that:
ACCESSORIES
Rings
Earrings
Bracelets
Necklaces
Pins
Scrunchies
Hair clips
Braid rings
Hats
Hair sticks
Glasses
Belt chains
Belts
Body jewelry
Scarves
Gloves
SHIRTS,AND UPPER BODY PIECES
T-shirts
Social shirts
Croppeds
Bodys
Corsets
Coats
Hoodies
Sweaters
Cardigans
PANTS,AND BOTTOM BODY PIECES
Skirts
Shorts
Pants
Socks
SHOES
Sneakers
Boots
Heels
Slippers
DRESSES
Gala dresses
Party dresses
Casual dresses
SWIMSUITS
PAJAMAS
COMPLETE CLOTHES/LOOKS
Casual clothing
Formal clothing
Winter clothing
Autumn clothing
Summer clothing
Spring clothing
OTHER CATEGORIES
other categories that I personally like to add are:
School supplies:I just add this in characters that are at school.
References:in this board I usually add like, pins of characters that are a inspiration for the character in specific, like characters that inspired the appearance or personality.
Animal spirit: this seems obvious.
Gem/stone: I am not a crystal person in the mystical way ,but I like Steven universe so that is enough to make me have interest in gems and stones hehehe,so...well I like to put gems or stones of the favorite color of the character.
Notion:in here i add images that I used in their notion page.
Scent:in here...this also seems pretty obvious.....I put images of things I think my character smell like.
Makeup:if the character use makeup I like to put some references of how their makeup look like.

This is for people who struggle with personal style and building a wardrobe and stuff like that, because I struggled with it, too:
Determine what you like. Look up various styles: goth, grunge, preppy, casual, tomboy, etc. Mix styles if that's your thing.
If you can't determine what you like (me, too), go create a Pinterest board. Add outfits you like to it, eventually you'll see a common theme. That's your key.
After you figure out your main theme, pay attention to the pieces in its outfits. Chances are, you'll find that there are several pieces that keep recurring, these are your building blocks. These pieces can be as specific as a black Converse, for example, or as general as a-line skirts.
Determine your seasonal colour type. This is a guideline for colours that suit you, you can always play around with it. If you are a person of colour, like me, type 'seasonal colour analysis for people of colour' into the search bar. Most sites deal with the system for white people, and mistype POC into autumn or winter palettes.
Decide a number of colours for your main colours, and a number for neutrals. Build your wardrobe around those colours, and don't stray from them. This is how you get a wardrobe full of pieces that can compliment each other, and that can mix around too create several outfits instead of a certain few that you can't change anything about. This is also how you manage to have a wardrobe full of pieces that all look great on you.
Figure out your body shape and how to flatter it.
You can also look into the Kibbe and Kitchener systems.
Avoid following trends. Please.
After all of this, you'll have an understanding of the style you like, but, for further personalization:
Determine your favourite perfume type. Do you like them sugary and sweet? Spicy? Go to a perfume shop, try a few ones and figure out what you like most.
What sort of accessories do you like? Watches can look elegant and classy, if you want to go for that. Rings can be classy or edgy. Do you like necklaces? Figure it out. You don't have to wear all sorts of accessories. I personally don't like watches and bracelets, so I avoid them when shopping. Balance the impression you'd like to give, with what you actually find comfortable and practical.
Bags. Apply the same process as above.
Makeup too.
Accessories can accent your look. Maybe you like to dress casual, but you want a sprinkle of edginess as well, so play with belts and chains and boots. Apply that everywhere.
Play with all of this, and the personal impression you want to give, and you get a personal aesthetic style, and an actually functional wardrobe.

ok i caved and made a pinterest board (which i can add u as a co-creator on if u want? and if i can figure out how to do that?) but i definitely agree on mike wearing darker colours/more punk stuff. in the board i have better refs w more of that vibe. i would luv ur thoughts on hairstyles tho, as i feel like he would keep his current hairstyle, but a bit longer. more reminiscent of eddie but still his own style, yknow? also accessorizing . he definitely seems to luv Things so i feel like he would Own quite a bit of jewelry (mostly necklaces and bracelets?) but probably wouldnt Wear a majority of them lol (no this isnt me projecting idk what u mean)
as for the will fits, i get what u mean abt more form fitting stuff and will definitely b taking that into account (in my head the shirts r for sure tighter but wow is it hard to find good refs like that) the only thing im not 100% on is his hair? i mean i definitely think he would do the middle/sorta side part swoopy 90s boyband bangs but.. hm. idk. maybe i am 100% on his hair lol. and for accessories i think he would like fun matching belts for different outfits (see: the colour-coded belts in s4) and maybe some bracelets and that would b his way of adding More to his fits w/o being super out-there? yknow?? like he definitely doesnt seem like the person to wear smth attention-grabbing like super bright stuff (like u said) but he would like to dabble/play w that kinda style thru smaller more subtle accessories? if that makes sense at all.
im glad it wasnt super weird ! this is fun to discuss imo :)
ok so i have Zero Opinions on hair, though itās become commonplace that will gets his little swoop and mike grows his hair out more. you could get fun with it and give them a little color!!
ACCESSORIES. i completely forgot those were a thing BUT for mike:
- necklaces but theyāre dangly and usually the charm piece is metal because he likes to bite/chew on it and metal tastes good, but the charm itself could be anything
- bracelets i imagine Suck for him because of his bony wrists and the way things are constantly sliding (my sister has a similar body type to him and bracelets never sit for her so thats what im going off of) except for those soft friendship bracelets you can tighten because 1) comfy material 2) adjustable
- i can see mike getting his ears pierced and THAT is where the stupidness goes in his accessories. he and will and el go out to shops and buy the ones they find funny or cute so he has like. this range

but he can cover it with his hair 90% of the time, only tucking his hair back to show them to people to make them laugh or show off a little
and then for will, accessory wise, i imagine him enjoying those little leather cluster bracelets

like this kinda stuff + friendship bracelets (naturally)
- i donāt think heād wear necklaces with the Sole Exception being a chain with the ring of power on it (not a fan of anything being near his throat usually but being a nerd overpowers trauma trust me)
-

jonathan gave him a photo of the demogorgon when he got home after s1 and hopper gave him a copy of his possessed brain scan. i think heād get a kick out of wearing stuff like this around the house for fun . not even to be scary he just thinks itās Funny

Okay I mean obviously your tattoo looks amazing(snakes and flowers, cool design, just beautifulšÆ)but mmm Iāve always been one for details Bunny and your outfitā¦goddamn. Itās giving like lowkey Steve with the white top and jeans just like classic yāknow? But then a heavy dose of Eddie with the little rips in the jeans and the necklaces and the black belt and the chain and the bandana in the back pocketš¤¤sorry to creep Bunny but youāre fine as hellšrespectfully
HOLD ON ITS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE OUTFIT, LET ME GIVE YALL SOME UP CLOSE SHOTS
also are u saying im a steddie love child š„¹š„¹š„¹ i love u sm
i got the jeans on amazon and i love how they fit, but getting them on over my ass is a struggle LMAO

ofc i had to add chains and the hanky bc yes i did my research on hanky code and yes its in my right pocket (eddies is in his left š)
i also pinned the little aztec gold coin from pirates of the carribean onto my pocket bc i love that movie and a belt to keep the chains from pulling my pants down LMAO

next were the rings and bracelets, i got the rings on amazon and all the bracelets from a pride parade. the beaded bracelet my cousin made me, it has my old pronouns on it but i still wear it bc i love it so much and my cousin is so sweet. the pink/blue/white says "protect trans kids" and "let trans kids play" the rainbow is for PrEP, an HIV prevention pill i think?? and the blue is for asfp, a suicide prevention organization.
the rings are just kinda for decor, the square one on my middle finger i bought from my tattoo shop, idk whats on it but it looks cool. then the wolf and thats all on my left. on my right is the thumb one, just some like leafy stuff ig?? the skeleton hand and then the grim reaper

i got the chain choker from walmart, idk where i got the amethyst tbh and the dog tag i got from my dad, he gave it to me before he was deployed to iraq for like 9 months. and my fitbit i use to track my workouts LMAO
the makeup is my absolute favorite part bc its the only look i do, i always go for the like messy, edgy look ig??? i saw the tutorial on tiktok and its the only look i do now i love it so much. its just a light purple all around, red along my lash lines with some yellow on the inner corner and outer edge of my eye. i coat my waterline in black eyeliner and i usually kinda make it messy and smudgy, and some mascara.

i love when the eyeliner gets smudgy so i just let it do what it wants lmao, usually ill do like primer, foundation, concealer, blush, highlighter, sometimes ill add fake freckles if im feeling spicy

DIY Alternative/Goth/Punk Attire Hacks
Disclaimer: I do not know everything about alt clothing/accessories, but Iāve been dressing alt for a year or two now. These tips are affordable and fairly easy to bring to fruition (I live in the outskirts of the midwestern suburbs in some sort of Hot Topic desert). Support BIPOC owned and ethical alt businesses if you can to build up your basics, but donāt beat yourself up over not being able to afford some fancy clothes or jewelry. Thrift if you can, too-- itās cheap(er) buying secondhand clothes and itās good for the environment.
Now that the basics are out of the way, here are some hacks!
1. Chains can be expensive, whether youāre looking for a necklace, bracelet, earrings or belt accessory. Go straight to the source! Hardware stores like Lowes often have a chunk of aisle dedicated to heavy duty grade chains, and they have a lot of variety in type, color and density. Buy some chain links-- they tend to be cheaper than things like lobster clips, and theyāre much easier to attach to the chains. Would not recommend these for earrings, though, but I use them on my belt chains all the time.
2. Have some old keychains lying around? Clip them onto your plain jewelry to spruce it up! Iāve seen some fancy belt chains with a little accessory go for like $20, but you can easily just attach a keychain to a regular one for little to no cost. Plus you can switch them out! This works especially well with earrings, specifically the hoop type.
3. Make your own earrings (if your ears are pierced, of course). Most craft stores sell earring making thingies in the dangle and stud varieties in different colors, and you will be hard pressed to find a craft store without a wall of a bajillion jewelry charms. Youāre bound to find some cool gothic charms like skulls or cameos and you can build your eccentric earring collection for cheap without supporting companies like Amazon. If you can find looped wires to poke into things, you can stick them into things like little toys or worms on strings and make even more earrings. And donāt forget to steal from Hobby LobbyĀ get glue or epoxy to fix those things together, sometimes charms will fall out of their metal loops.
4. Finding patches for your favorite bands can be hard and pricey. Luckily, fabric and paint are pretty cheap. Embroidery takes it a step further (and looks a lot cooler IMO) and embroidery hoops and floss and thread arenāt too expensive either. I would recommend buying some white and black scrap fabric (preferably something stiff like canvas or linen that wonāt stretch) and white, red and black acrylic or fabric paint (or embroidery floss or thread). You can either make your own designs or trace logos from your phone or computer. You can attach them with safety pins or by sewing, but if you want them to look more finished, you can buy heat nā bond to iron on the patches.
5. You like dressing in all black? So do I. Black fabric dye is available at most arts and crafts stores, and itās usually around $3 to $8, depending on how potent it is or how large the dose is. Chuck some of your light clothes you want to darken in a bath of that stuff (after reading the directions, of course) and you instantly have a bunch of new gothy clothes.
6. Unless you get a band tee from the limited selection of Metallica or Ramones tees at Walmart, youāll end up spending a pretty penny on just one shirt. If you want a more polished look, you can buy transfer paper from a craft store and print stuff from your printer to put on a shirt, but you need a specific printer for that kind of thing. My experience with shirt designing is that paint almost never works the way you want it to on fabric, even with fabric paint. If you have a light colored shirt, using a sharpie or some other permanent ink works good with drawing a design. On dark fabrics, itās best to cut out a template from paper or cardboard and use a bleach mixture to spray over the shirt to lighten it. Bleach pens also work for drawing on the shirt, but they can get a bit messy.Ā Put a piece of cardboard or something thick in between the front and the back so the marker/bleach doesnāt bleed through. I learned this the hard way. Obviously this works on any piece of clothing, but I use it most for shirts.
This is by no means an exhaustive list, Iāll probably add more tips later.

So Iāve been slapped with a $1,900 car repair bill, and while I donāt expect this to come anywhere near -covering- that cost, Iād still like to offset it a little. Iād really appreciate if you guys would at least take a look or spread the word, the prices are pretty low and some of this still Iāve either never used or only used a couple times. If you see something youāre interested in, shoot me a message for more details or better pictures (since I took these in kind of a hurry). Also stay tuned because I might list more stuff.
Images below the cut so I donāt bog down peopleās dashboards!

Socks: All unused, aside from me trying to put on the Fluttershy ones and realizing they wouldnāt go over my big calves.
Ankle-high: $2 each Knee-high: $3 each On hold!

Accessories: Mostly unused, I think I wore the necklace and the raccoon tail wallet chain a few times but thatās it.
Furry tail chains - $5 each Batman belts - $4 each Bracelets - $2 each Necklace - $3

Hats - $5 each Armsocks - $4 Sold, thank you!

Shirts: A couple I outgrew, a couple never fit because womenās clothing sizes are fucking stupid, and one I inherited while working at GameStop.
T-Shirts - $5 each

Pacman pajama pants - $4 Dinosaur ugly sweater - $25

Knickknacks: Yeah kind of a mixed bag here. Not gonna lie, some of this stuff I donāt even know what it is.
Coin block box - $1 Coin block tin - $1 Sonic tin - $1 Sonic fast food toy - $1 Battlefield 4 dog tags (the thing in the shiny bag) - $3 Morty figure - $2 Tenchi Muyo figures - $2 each or $5 for all hideous little Sonic figures - $10 each (these are actually quite rare) Sonic Battle (JP) - $2, because so far as I know THIS DOES NOT WORK! Please only buy this if you think you can fix it or just want it for your collection! Sticker (donāt even know who it is) - $1 Zelda gashapon figure - $5 Sonic lanyard (JP) - $8 Sega Saturn series keychain figures - $10 each (I used to know these charactersā names but I canāt place them off the top of my head. I think one is from Virtua Cop.) Cyborg Batman keychain - $1 keychain of chick in purple outfit - $1 (sorry itās another character I canāt remember. Maybe Sonya Blade? I honestly donāt remember.) Buttons - $1 each or $3 for all Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 keychain - $3 Goku figure keychain - $2 Sonic Triple Trouble pog promo pack - $10 Mario & Sonic at the Olympics styluses - $15 Sold, thank you!

Sonic pogs - $2 each Sonic gift card (no value, obviously) - $5 Sonic phone card (JP) - $10 Sonic Game Gear tips cards - $3 each Pokemon cards - $1 each Sonic playing cards - $5 Borderlands 3 points card - So I have a ton of these cards that I brought home from work because I didnāt want them thrown away, and each one has a Diamond code for 1,500 points to buy gold keys or items with. Iām honestly not comfortable āsellingā these per se, so if you want one (or more) just make me an offer or send a donation on Ko-fi with a comment that youād like one.

WiiU drawstring bag - $4
I forgot to put these socks in the previous socks section. Theyāre not knee-high so theyāre also $2 each.

Books: The notebooks are completely unused (and one is still shrinkwrapped), and the guides were probably used by someone else but not by me. They were in an eBay lot along with something else that I specifically wanted, so these were just kind of foisted on me.
Notebooks - $5 each Guides - $8 each

Comics: $2 each or $20 for all (per series)

Since most of these are from Free Comic Book Day events, I feel weird asking for a price for them, so make me an offer or donate on Ko-fi if you want one.

Dolls: Kind of a range here. The Bulma doll is probably the most valuable since itās one of the original DBZ UFO catchers from the 90ā²s. Also with the Papyrus plush Iād just like to point out that getting the same doll on the Fangamer website will cost $32 before shipping.
Goku POP - $10 (please note the box is a little borked) Bulma UFO catcher - $40 Papyrus plush - $25 Sold, thank you! Neopets keychain plushies - $5 each On hold!
OKAY thatās it for now. Like I said I might add more (or do another post) later, because I know I have more things, I just didnāt gather them all at the same time.
Payments will most likely all be through Paypal, and buyers are responsible for shipping costs (which will probably be at least $5, more if itās a larger package).
Thanks to anyone that can help!

Hibiki, I need tips on how to be a goth
āFind goth clothes you like. Listen to music you like. Tada, youāre goth.ā He laughs.
āOf course, I think youāre looking for more detail than that, so let me give you a quick history lesson. Goth started way back in the 1600s, with the earliest subcultures popping up in London during the Victorian era. But when youāre thinking of modern goth, subcultures usually formed in the band scene, and usually around bands like The Cure and Bauhaus. You are not required to listen to The Cure. Thereās very little of their music that I actually like. You can listen to any genre, really, and still be goth, but usually goths gravitate toward-- you guessed it!-- goth music. Goth rock, shock rock, hard rock, metal, black metal, screamo, punk, so on and so forth are really popular. There are a few alternative artists and songs that I listen to regularly, but the bulk of what I like falls into those categories. In general, if you want to find goths, you still go to the music, and thatās a good place to start.ā
āThere are also tons of ātypesā of goths. Iād say just pick your favorite style and go for it. Thereās trad goth, which has a lot of punk elements because it arose in the early band scene. Romantic goths have an aesthetic that sort of fits in a gothic romance novel, usually with a lot more red. Vampire goths follow the vampire aesthetic, Victorian goths are pretty self explanatory, casual or corporate goths too. There are even close offshoots like cybergoth, which would fit more in a rave than day-to-day life, and pastel goth. Offshoots may appeal to wider crowds. And, of course, near and dear to my heart because it started in Japan-- gothic lolita. Iād say do research and pick a style thatās close to the aesthetic you want and go from there.ā
āIn general for the look, Iād say invest in a few staple pieces for cheap, and then mix and match and accessorize. Different styles might cost you more or less. IF you go gothic lolita, brand dresses can run hundreds or thousands of dollars. But for a basic look in a casual goth style, a skirt, couple pair of shorts, and a couple pair of pants is a good place to start, and if you know where to shop itāll only set you back, like, $30. Better if you can modify your own stuff, then you can get it for cheaper. Iād also say a few pair of tights or fishnets are good, especially if you can rip the tights. You can buy cheap t-shirts and rip or cut or burn them, add bleach stains, put safety pins or chains on them, yada yada. And then Iād say a few nicer pieces, like a corset or a leather jacket, which run more expensive, but you might be able to find something you like at a thrift store. Also, a staple for me is my mesh shirt. The big thing is accessories. It depends on your style of goth, of course, but for me the basics would be a hip chain, a choker, a necklace, a belt, and a couple bracelets and rings. If youāre smart, or you can mod or make your own, you can get a pretty good collection for, like, fifty to a hundred bucks. Plus earrings and piercings, which can be a good addition to the look. And of course the shoes. Everyone knows Demonias and Doc Martens-- the tall platforms, the creepers, the combat boots, whatever-- but you donāt have to go brand if you canāt afford it, and you can actually find a lot of good shit at thrift stores if you look around. Plus, there are tons of other styles that would be goth. You can wear black converse for all I care. I like having a few different go-tos, but Iāve been doing this a while. I didnāt fork over $600 in shoes at once. For a start, one pair of versatile shoes is fine. Make sure to take care of them, though-- clean them, shine them if theyāre leather, blah blah.ā
āLastly, thereās sort of an iconicĀ āgoth lookā. You know, pale skin, dark hair, dark eyeliner, black nail polish, that sort of thing. You donāt have to go pale if youāre goth. I donāt change my skin color at all, actually, Iām just like this. My hair is also just... like this. But dying it a dark color or a different color like red, green, blue, purple, or even something like silver or white, might help the look. Again, you donāt have to. Hair dye needs upkeep, and some people donāt want that, or donāt have the money. But if you want the bare essentials of the look, Iād say eyeliner, mascara, and black nail polish. At the right place for the right price, thatās $20. Lipstick is a bonus, but not a requirement.ā
āAlright, now some misconceptions. As I mentioned, you donāt have to be pale or have dark hair or listen to The Cure to be goth. Itās stereotypical, but it wonāt make youĀ ānot gothā to not have those things. Especially in the international scene, a lot of dark-skinned goths feel like they have to lighten their skin, which is bullshit. Skin is skin, youāre not more or less goth for having it look a certain way. As for other things-- like I said, the music can be anything, and different types of goths may listen to more or less of a genre. Victorian goths might listen to more classical music, for example, and cybergoths listen to more techno. No, not all goths are delinquents, drug addicts, heavy drinkers, or criminals. No, weāre not all depressed, youāre thinking of emo. We donāt all have the same hobbies. No, weāre not all satanists. Plenty of us are atheist, but there are plenty of Christians, Muslims, Jews, Shintos, Buddhists, Wiccans, whatever you can think of that are goth. And being a dick is not part of goth culture. If you meet someone whoās a goth and a dick, thatās a them problem, not a culture problem.ā
āYikes, alright, I kind of talked your ear off, didnāt I? Iād recommend doing your own research and finding what resonates with you, and if you need specific suggestions, Iām your guy, but hopefully thatās a good start.ā

Wazoo Survival Gear
Wazoo Survival Gear
So this is a relatively new company to the market, but they do seem to be pushing out some decent gear. TheyĀ make survival bracelets and belts to zombie t-shirts and key-chains. I have a couple of items here from these guys just to get a flavour of what they are about, specifically their Cache Cap and Bushcraft necklace. So far Iām pretty impressed and hereās why.
Ā The Cache Cap was something I was very sceptical about. I figured you wont get much in there as it is pretty much just a regular baseball cap, and anything you did

put in there would feel more like a hindrance. I though, if anything,Ā I would just use it to store some cash, butĀ I was actually surprised by what you can do with it. It has 6 pockets in total and while the four main ones are large enough for storing some bits and pieces in them, the two side ones are might be a bit too small for most people to use. I actually put a ferro rod in one of the small visor pockets, a survival saw in one of the internal side pockets, and a small fishing kit, some foil and a needle and thread in the other side pouch. If you can count, that meant I still had space in the largest internal pouch for maybe drying out some damp tinder and the visor pocket for something-else that may take my fancy and I could even add some paracord around the inside rim. I had quite a lot of options for one small hat and it wasnāt uncomfortable to wear with this stuff inside. You can obviously feel the items you place inside, but the comfort was my only concern and I was pleasantly surprised. I wore it for a good 8 hours while I was out in the mountains and the extra bits I had added didnāt bother me at all, though I dare say some people might overfill it and find it a different experience.

I like the bushcraft necklace, as its made with leather cord and it just feels more traditional and organic to wear, but itās very similar to the Firecraft necklace which comes using a length of 550 firecord if you want something a little more practical. It has a small ferro rod and a ceramic striker on the end which work well given their size, and really I think look quite nice. The leather feels quite sturdy which makes for some good emergency cordage for something like a tourniquet or even to make a basic snare if you had to. I donāt adorn myself with jewellery, but I do like this as itās not made for showing off. It is practical and also a little unique and that suits me just fine.
I donāt know about you, but I do like a good bargain and surprises. So, if like me you want to save some money and you arenāt sure what you would like to buy, the

guys at WSG will sell you a āBag Oā Crapā, which contains anything from product rejects to one-off prototypes. Now to be fair the reject could be a $70 survival bracelet that had a broken ferro rod on it, which for a couple of bucks can easily be swapped out by you. Or a really cool T-Shirt with a little bit of off coloured dye. You just donāt know, but like meĀ you probably want to find out.
In short, while these guys like to have a laugh or two, they are very serious about making their products perform in every situation you might encounter. Donāt be put off if you are outside of the US as their shipping rates are very, very good and arrive very quickly. My kit arrived in about a week and Iāve waited longer for stuff to come from the Amazon warehouse thatās about 10 miles away from my home. Itās definitely worth checking these guys out if you are looking for some cool survival accessories and their bracelets are easily some of the best available on the market.
Check out their gear here.
