you’ve never been one to indulge into the many delicacies of food. it was always kept pretty simple, pretty plain, and most importantly; pretty small. your mom was an extreme one who’d instil the emphasis of portion control and nutritional value, none of that fast food junk. oh god no.

now it wasn’t like you totally had the worst relationship with food. you just ate it to, eat it. simply curve the natural instincts of hunger and then go on with your day.

bill had no knowledge of it, but he did have some suspicions. whenever you guys were to go out to eat and grab food with either the band or just the two of you, you never ordered anything too exquisite, too loaded. small portions, barely any flavours, and it mostly consisted of greens. at this point, he was convinced that you were some rabbit.

so to his obvious surprise, when he asked you, “have you ever had a mcdouble, like, ever in your life?” and you shook your head no, his chin for real dropped to the ground. you had to explain to him that because of your upbringings, you were never really privileged with the so-called delicacies of sugary sweets and treats of fizzy sodas and a simple cheeseburger.

“oh no.. oh nonono i gotta take you right now—it’s the best thing ever!!” he exclaims while dragging you on your feet, beelining for the car. by the way, it’s 2am

you’ve never seen him so excited before, the whole car ride and i swear i mean the WHOLE car ride, bill was nonstop ranting about the menu and the millions of things that you two can try together. you can’t help but smile, he’s so cute. the pitch of his voice gets all high and squeaky. and he speaks fast, almost too fast that you as him to slow down, to which he finds himself becoming bashful over how passionate he is about mcdonalds.

pulling into the drive-thru, you stare at the enlarged kiosk of the mcdonalds menu, “do you know what you want to order? did i explain everything? oh, that’s what you want? wait—no, that one? fuck it i’ll just get everything!!”

you were indecisive, overwhelmed with the many varieties of what could be a burger, what drink to get, a soda or a milkshake? ooooh what about a side? chicken nuggets or fries?

bill on the other hand, knew exactly what to order. for him, a mcdonalds connoisseur, he gets a big mac, specifically six chicken nuggets, and a vanilla milkshake. classic, you thought to yourself. while passing through the first window to pay, you take out cash to give to bill for your portion of the food, he immediately holds his hand over yours, squeezing it.

“y/n, my treat. i want your first time to be memorable. ‘m the one who took you out, so let me pay, please? also, so you’re definitely the only person i’d do this for, don’t tell tom, okay?” you couldn’t fight back since he asked so politely. and knowing bill, he’d never make you pay. later, you’ll think of a way to repay him the favour.

sitting on the curb of the parking lot, the two of you sat beside one another as bill began to pull out the food items one-by-one from their signature paper bag. the scent of the food wafts as he passes you a cheeseburger, you’re already salivating at the mouth, impatient to try it.

“smells good right? enjoy!” you open the carton to reveal a small burger, the bun almost perfect. bill places a beverage to the side of you, “cola! a classic, thought you’d like it for sure,” “thank you billy.. i really appreciate you doin’ this f’me.”

he shakes his head but smiles, “how could i not?? my best friend deserves this! no hate to your mom, but she was definitely punishing you by hiding this.. y’kno, i get sooo much mcdonalds, like, everyday, even more than that fatty tom! my grandma calls me macky ☺️,” he nods his head in approval to that nickname, how adorable. you think it fits him quite well.

awaiting, bill watches as you begin to take a bite of the burger. flavour runs over your tongue as you’ve felt like you just consumed ambrosia. your tastebuds are dancing, very joyous indeed. your eyes widen and you physically gasp with food in your mouth as you look at bill. there’s a glint in your eyes but his shines brighter to see such a positive reaction out of you.

it makes him happy to know that he could be there to see you enjoy what he loves. you end up taking more consecutive bites out of the burger until it was completely gone. scarfing it down, you chew, no words shared between the two of you as you both muck on what’s now become one of your favourite foods.

who knows? maybe this could become a daily thing, pray for your wallets, “oh my god.. this is so fucking good!?” “i know right??—oh wait, there’s a little sumn’ on your face..”

bill reaches out his hand to swipe away at the sauce that’s stuck on the corner of your mouth. seems as though you lost control of how messily you were eating that there was food on your face.

his touch was soft, gentle. as he uses his thumb to clean you off, he brings it into his mouth to lick off the remains as if it were nothing. you stare at him in shock, mouth, again, full of food as you were stunned and in no way capable of speaking. that was so, action forward. a heat transforms on your face as bill stares at you, innocently confused.

“what?” he asks, eyebrows a little furrowed as you lack a response. then, the realization hit him. what he did, was in fact, veryyyy intimate. hiding his face in his hands, he feels like he wants to scream. you notice his ears burning a vibrant pink, as he taps his feet in embarrassment.

he peeks at you through his fingers, “sorry! it was just instinct, i-i didn’t mean to, uh, do that..” he struggles to hold eye contact with you, putting a chicken nugget in his mouth.

giggling at him, you take a sip from your large coca cola, smiling with the straw between your teeth. putting the cup down on the ground, you lean in to place a small kiss on bill’s cheek “it’s okay, thank you billy, really, the food was amazing,” waiting for his reaction, he sits there still as a statue, until immediately slapping a hand onto the cheek you kissed him.

“you’re blushing, bill,”

“shut up before i eat all your food.”

“please! i need it so bad!” naomi dangled her feet off of her bed as she talked with jack on the phone. “your deal doesn’t even make sense!” he replied. it was currently 1:00 am and naomi was craving canes so, naturally she called jack. “you said, and i quote, ‘you drive and you pay’ so then what the fuck are you contributing?” he tried to sound serious but let out a laugh at the end of his sentence. “i’ll give you a kiss~” she dragged out the last word and without hesitation jack replied, “i’m on my way.” before hanging up abruptly.

“—and can you throw in an extra toast please?” naomi had her hands on jacks thighs as she leaned over him to speak in the drive thru, him mumbling something about her using him for money and she rolled her eyes. “should we get the 32 ounce sauce?” she looked back wiggling her eyebrows and his eyes widened “i don’t think—“ “okay and we’ll also get the 32 ounce sauce!” she fell back into her seat, smiling contently and while jack should have been annoyed, seeing the smile on her face made it all worth it.

after getting their food, they had parked in the parking lot to eat. “so, where’s my kiss?” jack teased, tossing a fry in his mouth. “hm okay, close your eyes.” and he’s never closed his eyes faster. he sat there for a few seconds, then felt naomi place a cold hand on his cheek and his heartbeat quickened, he didn’t expect her to actually go through with it. before he could finish preparing himself, naomi had taken a piece of toast drenched with sauce and shoved it in his face. “naomi what the fuck!” eyes wide as he stared at her in disbelief. she tried to suppress her laugh but he looked absolutely ridiculous. “oh you think this is funny?” he cocked a brow and she shook her head, still laughing. “well you still owe me a kiss so pucker up!” sauce still all over him, he grabbed naomi’s face and tried to pull her in. “GROSS GET OFF OF ME!” she burst into a fit of giggles as she tried pushing him off, but he was stronger, he placed a fat, canes sauce filled, kiss on her cheek. “you’re fucking disgusting.” she laughed, reaching for napkins as jack sat back proudly.

eventually after eating, they had driven back to naomi’s house but stayed parked in the driveway, still talking for hours about god knows what. “can i ask you something?” she proposed and he nodded, her legs currently stretched out on his lap as she leaned her back against the passenger door. “do you think we could ever actually date?” she asked nonchalantly, eyes focused on her hair as she played with her split ends. “what are you talking about?” he laughed and looked over at her. she looked up from playing with her hair, “us dating? for real though.” she waited, but took the confusion on his face as an answer and she shook her head, removing her legs from his lap “nevermind.” she grabbed her sweater from the back seat. “stop, i’m just confused, you’ve never said something like that before, like you were never serious.” he held her arm to stop her from leaving. “and i was just joking now too.” her expression shifted, a soft smile now on her face. “i was just teasing, that’d be weird. you’re just cute when you’re flustered.” she pinched his nose before getting out of the car. jack’s stomach dropped at her words, would it be so weird if they were actually together? “thanks for the canes jack!” she began walking to her front door, but stopped about halfway and ran back to his car. she motioned him to roll his window down. rolling the window down, he searched for something to say but before he could, naomi kissed him gently on the cheek. “there’s your kiss.” she grinned before running into her house. jack sat back puzzled, running a hand through his hair. “what the fuck just happened?”

Where do you think rodrick would take a s/o on dates?

Great question! Here's some of my ideas :^)

He definitely loves arcade dates, he's an absolute beast at space invaders, and loves to play air hockey (even though he always looses). Sometimes you'll win him some sort of stuffed animal which he will refer to as his son for the rest of the day.

He likes to go to the aquarium, his favourite part is the jellyfish area because he thinks they look like cool aliens, but he's secretly scared of sharks so he always holds your hand extra tight when you go through that area.

Drive in movies are his favourite in the summer. He's got an old beat up sofa in the back of his van where you sit and cuddle watching old movies on warm summer nights.

Not exactly a date, but I think he'd definitely drag you to comic con with him. He's a big nerd at heart, and he loves how supportive you are of his fanboy antics. You even agree to go as han and leia together, because you just can't say no to him when he gets all excited.

He takes you to a lot of basement shows, some of which he plays at. He spends the whole time with his arm around you and has a tendency to get quite protective. He loves going in the pit, but gets scared when you're in there in case you get hurt.

He's not big on crowded bars, instead he likes to take you for a quiet drink at a pub (or whatever the American equivalent is #bri'ish moment) where he can have a proper conversation with you.

For special occasions he goes the whole nine yards, flowers, clean shirt, fancy restaurant. Your special occasion restaurant is always the same place, an independently owned proper old school Italian place with candles in old wine bottles, accordion music and an extensive wine list.

In contrast to the fancy dinners, you both also love cheap dates. Getting drive thru burgers in his van and finding a spot with a nice view to eat, watch the stars, and make out.

Amusement parks are a MUST for Rodrick, despite how easily scared he is of most things, he's actually pretty fearless when it comes to scary rides. He loves being able to hold your hand and reassure you that everything is fine (since normally it's the other way around).

He doesn't really understand museums, but he likes to go to them with you and listen to to you explaining what all the artifacts are and why they're important. He still doesn't really understand any of it, but he thinks it's so attractive when you explain things to him.

if i may ask, i am v curious when the party got their cars/how long theyve had them

ella i hope you don't hate me from harboring this ask since the end of august bc i really did mean to answer it sooner. i love u mwah.

mike: some of the lore surrounding the mustang has now been revealed through chapter 9.1, but to reiterate for the purpose of this ask: mike really wanted to get a car with manual transmission, and wanted something used so it could be a purchase he made himself. he did a lot of research online and in person before finding the mustang, which he did think was a little gaudy, but to me he's also a pretty big car buff and likes a lot of classic models -- no matter anyone's feelings on mustangs as a whole, it is a very iconic car with a lot of history, so mike definitely appreciates that a lot. he had nancy co-sign but he paid for everything himself! as of acswy, he's had it for just over a year!

will: will's car is also used, and also something he (mostly) paid for by himself! originally he was going to inherit jonathan's car but like in the show, it died. rip. but hopper Knows A Guy who works on and then sells a lot of used cars and that's who they ended up buying will's car from. he got it when he turned 17 for around ~$2500 since hop's friend cut them a deal, and he paid for Most of that himself (using money he's saved up from camp and the part-time job he had during the school year when he was in hs) and hop and joyce covered the rest. that said, will does pay them back on a monthly basis and pays for his own gas and insurance, so to him they didn't help at all (even tho they helped more than mike's parents did lol). by the start of acswy, he's paid his parents back in full and now just worries about the insurance payments.

lucas: lucas's parents and smart and invest and told their beautiful talented son that if he worked hard and got good grades they would buy him a car for graduation. so he did. and then also got a full ride scholarship to uconn to play basketball and his parents said oh ok slay boy. thanks so much. so since they are saving on a LOOOT of tuition and room and board fees they said we will get you a nice car. and lucas said bet, hellcat? and his mom said ABSOLUTELY NOT and his dad said ABSOLUTELY. mike was fuming btw. if you care.

max: tbh we haven't so super fleshed out a lot of max's family lore so i'd have to consult w suni re: current arrangements BUT 2 me max shares her car w her mom. i think her mom works from home and when she needs to go somewhere uses max's step dad's car just so that max can have some extra freedom. it's also my headcanon that max is the oldest in the friend group so she got her license first and was will and el's designated chauffeur for a while <3

el: el Just got her car and license before the start of acswy! i think she's the youngest in the party and she had will and max to drive her places so there was truly no need to get her license or car until now, plus i think she had some driving anxiety. she also got her car thru hop's friend but it was a little more expensive than will's since it's a bit newer and a nicer model, but she's had more time to save up for it! she mostly got one because she wanted to be able to have something to drive back at school, and also because she's more willing to admit than will is that the cobalt is not going to last super long, so one of them needs to have a car lol.

dustin: dustin got his car from his mom when she upgraded to a new one and while most people would complain dustin said FUCK YEAH because he loves his mom's car and also didn't have to spend a single dime on it lol. i think he got it when he was 17 as well so he also drove lucas and mike around for a bit before they got their cars as part of the indy crew!

Ghost made his tea and hid on the roof of the new base. He liked it up there. It gave him some privacy to think of what happened a week ago. The view was also nice. He could see for miles. The base was simple and he could see the people training. They waddled around like ducks. Sloppy and slow.

Was he ever like that? Even as a trainee, he felt he never quite sucked as much as some of these guys did. Though, he had spent most of his life fighting off his dad and drug dealers. Had a bit of a leg up, he supposed.

Soap had only stayed a few more minutes before leaving. He had made sure to give Ghost a few more wing scratches before he did though. His hands felt so nice. Soft. Ghost had been expecting them to be like the other humans on base. covered in scars and calluses. But they had been pleasant. Soap probably had a routine or something. He always smelled better than other people too and was very clean. Ghost appreciated that.

Alex appeared. The telltale sound of wings gave him away. Him being one of five people who knew he went to the roof of new places and one of two that could actually get up there helped. He settled in next to Ghost, raising his wings to keep the sun off of both of them. Immediately, he felt better. Even with his sunglasses, the sunlight was pretty bright. Better than the fluorescents inside he supposed, but still not pleasant.

"Thanks, Alex."

"No problem, Ghost."

The shade relaxed him more and took another sip of his tea.

"So, how's Soap treating you?"

Ghost grunted, clearly not wanting to talk about it.

"He's pretty nice! Been cool when I've talked to him at least." Alex hummed and started to lean into him. They bumped shoulders and Ghost growled a bit before leaning into it. "Are you okay, buddy?"

Ghost huffed at him. "Yeah. I'm fine." Alex's wing shifted and the light got in his eyes. He quickly adjusted so he was back in the shade. They sat in silence for a bit. Sometimes, Ghost wanted to ask Alex why he was never angry. Yes, Alex had agreed to some experiments, but he hadn't really been briefed on what it entailed. Though, Alex did have so much control. Probably was a lot easier for him.

Ghost was never bitter about that fact. Once, Alex had asked. Not accusatorily, just worried. But he wasn't. He'd never spite Alex for being made right. Especially because it was hard to hate the guy. He was nice. A good friend and better soldier.

Alex hummed. "You wanna leave for a while? I may have... arranged for Gaz and Price to be busy. I'm sure they'll drag Soap into it." That distraction could be anything from a small mishap with paperwork that would take them hours to sort out or a fire. No alarms had went off, so probably not a fire.

Ghost thought about it. Alex had already made the distraction after all. "Yeah. Let's ditch for a while." He stood up. "Look passable?"

"Yeah, you look fine." Alex smiled at him and they snuck off base. Ghost removed the outer part of his mask so he just had his balaclava and anything that screamed military. Alex did the same so they just looked like two ordinary dudes. Ghost just had a large hoodie on. For multiple reasons, they couldn't go in most places, so they went through a drive thru.

"You're paying right?"

Ghost frowned. "You invited me out, ya dick."

"You get more expensive stuff."

Ghost huffed. "No I don't!"

"Fine, I forgot to do currency exchange and have no fucking money, okay?"

"Say that next time!"

"Get fucked." Alex hit his shoulder and took his card. They got food and then they went to a shop for alcohol.

Ghost waited in the car while Alex got drinks. He glanced around, turning the music up a little higher to drown out all of the outside noises. A dog started barking and he quickly upped the volume even more.

Ghost sunk into the passenger's seat, putting his feet on the dash. A lady saw him and quickly scooped her kid up before walking faster. He sank a little further into his seat. He took a sip of his drink, his tufts standing up. Sugar and caffeine. Tasted great.

Alex slid into the driver's seat. He started driving, apparently having somewhere in mind. Ghost stuck his hand in the bag, finding the bourbon.

"Don't drink yet."

"It's not like you're going to let me drive."

"Yeah, because you're a bad driver." Alex scoffed and smiled at him. "Nah. Got something better. Do you know where we are?"

"No."

"We're in West Virginia."

Ghost glanced at him. "No way."

"Yes, my friend. We are within driving distance of Point Pleasant."

"We're going mothman hunting?"

"Unfortunately, no to that. Don't think we're going to have time. But... with your wings...."

Ghost shook his head. "You're evil. I'm in. So what's the plan?"

"We're going to go to a bridge and you’re going to stand there ominously.”

Simon laughed, almost giddy at the idea. “Maybe I’ll attract one.”

Alex grinned. “Know any mating calls? You can summon one.”

“Oh hell yeah. Im sure I’m not for a mothman.”

“You don’t have antenna.”

“My tufts will work. I’ll flick them about to blend in.”

Alex laughed again. “Think i Could join you?”

“No, you’re not invited!” Ghost laughed.

“What?? Why not??”

“If I’m going to wife up mothman, you’re going to Fuck it up.”

“I can be your wing man!!”

“I don’t need a wing man!”

“What are you going to do, Simon? Tell it a bunch of bad jokes?”

Ghost stared at him. “Bitch.”

They arrived at the bridge and made There way to the top. Ghost spread his wings menacingly before settling down to finish eating the food they got.

After eating, they enacted their plan. Alex stood on the ground, staring at the top of the bridge where Ghost was. He spread his wings again, shimmying slightly and eventually, a car parked.

A few people started taking pictures and Ghost hung down from the suspension, using the shadows to make it look like he was walking upside down. The attention was… Fun. He like freaking people out but most people also didn’t look scared, just amazed. Maybe it helped his ego, just a little.

He saw someone reach into their vehicle though and Alex made a signal, so Ghost quickly fell under the bridge and disappeared from view.

Alex quickly went into the woods and Ghost went to the other side of the bridge. He pulled on his hoodie and walked straight past them.

“Did you see it??” Someone stopped him.

Ghost kept his hood up. “See what?”

They quickly started telling him what happened and showing him the pictures. He made a convincing mothman. The person sent him several of the photos after he gave them his number and he went to the van.

Alex grinned. “Have fun?”

Ghost nodded but his vibrating wings gave away exactly how much fun he had.

Alex hummed. “Gaz texted. They caught us so we gotta head back.”

Ghost groaned. “Fucking losers. Wonder what Soap is going to do.”

“Hes a sweet guy, Ghost.”

“We’re about to see, aren’t we?”

i think i have aspd or traits . but i dont wanna go to a psych and be like " btw here are my symptoms ive never told u about before , have fun ! ( insert the entire ASPD criteria here ) . sorry " because that makes me look bad & i appear the opposite ( passive , fearful , not aggressive ) , & dont want to appear as a threat and i most definitely dont want them to think im manipulating them when im not ( like for example when im just telling them my symptoms regarding other conditions ) . and i dont want to admit to committing crimes incase they report me or i have to go through a security clearance for job reasons and they go thru my stuff . anyways as far as anyones concerned i seem nice but weird but not the type of person to have those kinds of symptoms , and i want it to keep my Good Girl(tm) image . but also . i dont want to start having legal issues , become dependent on substances , pursue any illegal occupation , etc since it would suck to get caught and im only 21 so i keep trying my best to avoid it everytime i almost continue with it , but i need help bad lol . any idea of what i should or can do ? anything helps

okay real talk but literally do exactly the opposite of everything ur doing and also get out of ur own head and stop overanalyzing every thought u have to find justifications for not doing the very simple basic first step towards what u know is the right thing to do but just dont want to because being vulnerable feels yucky and ur scared

i say this with genuine compassion and no judgement because i *absolutely* did and still sometimes do the same thing but unfortunately the only way to get urself out of that cycle is to get over urself and touch grass (encouragingly) so that u just Do The Thing u know u need to do

being open and honest with a therapist about ur thoughts and feelings is the only way to get any actual positive growth or help out of it. u cant fix what u dont talk about and keeping it all to urself will only drive u more and more insane. staying cooped up inside ur own mind without telling other ppl what ur thinking out loud creates a feedback loop of crazy. u gotta hear urself talk to another person sometimes to actually really *hear* urself, u know? ur brain is where the crazy is and u cant stay there alone and expect it to work out and get better. u have to talk it out and be confronted and challenged with other viewpoints to realize where urs are disordered if u look for reasons not to do something u will absolutely find them, and while i could offer rebuttels to a lot of ur concerns, things like how ur medical records and psych details are not that detailed. u doing illegal behavior like stealing or doing drugs is not something that gets listed on those and falls under patient confidentiality. the only thing that gets documented is the official diagnoses name which most therapists are going to be very reluctant to hardline diagnose someone with aspd (and even then it only gets logged with that practice and submitted to ur insurance only if ur seeking care like meds or hospital stays or get incarcerated. otherwise, if u dont tell someone "i saw dr.x at yclinic from 2019-2022, then they have no way of knowing or finding out what that dr wrote on their internal records/notes. there is no centralized database of "medical history" outside of ur insurance company and specific practices internal networks) individual symptoms like "illegal activity" do not get listed and unless ur planning on enrolling in the military or working for the feds no job is looking more deeply than that into ur history unless u personally volunteer it. what comes up when specific companies do background checks with a medical history is ur insurance records. ur insurance only knows what gets submitted to them specifically, if ur therapist doesnt file paperwork with ur insurance to list aspd as a diagnosis they are looking for ur insurance to pay them to treat u for specifically (instead of more generalized things like "depression" "anxiety" or just "mental health care" ect, which they have to get ur permission to do) then there's no paper trail of what u two talk about in that office or how ur "good girl" image is legitimately worthless garbage and will grant u absolutely nothing in life and clinging to it in the false hope that other ppls perceptions of u will change who u actually are and make u happy is only gonna lead u to looking at ur shitty unhappy life in 5 years and being filled with nothing but regret and anger and wanting to kill urself or that while u cant know or control how ur therapist sees u or reacts to the things u share with them, u can control who they are. if u fuck up with this therapist or it takes a turn u dont like or they start treating u badly, u can very much just get another one. u can request a different person at the same clinic for any reaosn or u could switch clinics entirely. most insurance in the us is taken by more than 1 provider in an area and there are almost always multiple practices that take the local insurance. and even then, if u wanna drive 45mins to see a therapist a town over cause u burned a bridge with this one u can do that. ur not beholden to a single person, u can get dozens and dozens of opinions. ive had over 15 different therapists in my life. if u fuck up with one u can always get another

but all those rebuttals dont really matter because if u want to, i have no doubt u could find counter points to all those points. i know i could if i tried. so really it just comes down to the simple question of are u going to keep standing in ur own way or are u going to cut the bullshit and take it seriously and do the hard thing because u know its what u need to do? ur young still, uve got so much time, dont waste more of it waiting for the perfect solution or situation because it will never exist. do it now, do it messy, do it scared, fuck it up and get it wrong a bunch, and then try again and again until it works

The main thing is that I don't put games in the blog if I don't recommend it (unless its a submission) this has caused issues before but I think it helps keep the blog transparent, this is why I did an OSR masterpost of only submissions btw. also like 99% of the itch.io physical games section is just mork borg hack slop. and Drive Thru isn't much better, being a ton of weird AI crap, plus they do allow corporate games so its harder to sift through. this isn't even getting started on great games that don't have any storefront presence! games that just exist in blogs and sites dedicated to them

him and i have actually known each other for probably like 6 years or so. when we first met, he was married and we didnt really talk we just had a lot of mutual friends bc we like the same music and go to a lot of the same shows and we would just see each other in passing. he ended up telling me he was intrigued by me bc i had done a photoshoot and my pfp when we met was me holding a butcher knife in a wednesday addams outfit, and he said he knew i had to be an interesting person from that alone. he is quite shy though. we would also see each other places but never really said more than hi to one another. he got divorced in 2020, we talked a little then, but not really. then he dated his now most current ex, more or less bc she basically cornered him into a relationship while he was just getting over his divorce and homegirl needed a place to stay. hes told me he regrets it and said he literally should have kept trying with me bc being shy with me would have been a hell of a lot better than how things worked out for the 2.5 years of abuse she put him through. last year we started talking a lot bc he was posting a lot of concerning stuff to his insta private story and so i kind of talked him thru his abusive relationship he was currently in and he mentioned he really needed a close friend. we ended up becoming gym partners for a bit before both our now exs went batshit over it and our friendship as a whole. and we stopped talking for a bit...and then we would talk a little here and there. and we both mutually agreed we were both in shit relationships.

so me and new mr oatmilk started hanging out more. he would go on walks with me after work. or we would go back to being gym buddies. or we would grab dinner. go to a bookstore. i helped him pick out stuff for his new apartment.

i asked him if he wanted to go see the cure with me at the end of last month and he surprised me by paying for a 2 night hotel stay for us instead of us just driving 2 hrs. and thats also when we went to the cemetery to walk around bc he knew id like it. thats pretty much when we decided we were actually an item.

i helped him move into a new apartment last weekend. and tonight im surprising him with making him dinner. ive pretty much stayed over since he moved in, which is funny bc he got a smaller bed than he would normally get bc he originally told me he didnt wanna feel lonely since it's just him...but he has only spent like one night alone since living there lol.

during work, when i’m on my way home from work and when i get home. i’ll just be trying to breathe and relax and my anxiety says “NOPE!!” and makes me feel so very close to having a panic attack.

i feel so goddamn fucking dumb for letting my anxiety get the better of me. and because it’s happening regularly/so often! it’s like just fucking get your shit together for fucks sake!

and then because my anxiety has been so bad/getting worse, it’s starting to mess with my depression and making it worse and i just wanna run away and need a break from my brain 😭

i do like my new job, btw! like i do. it’s just so different and not like anything i’ve done before and it’s really far out of my comfort zone so it’s just still an adjustment, you know? 😣

and what’s not helping my anxiety at all is that after this week, i’m not gonna be with the person who’s been training me. they’re moving to another department 😣

and i’m very happy for them! i mean they’re going to somewhere they’ve wanted to be for a while now so that’s so awesome for them! i just have gotten so used to like being with them or having them by me and i’m not ready to not have them by me, watching over what i’m doing or reassuring me/reminding me that what i’m doing is correct and i’m doing everything in order or right.

i’m not ready to like not have them there right by me and can remind me what step comes next or help me when i’m still very unsure of myself 😓

but at the same time, it will be kinda nice to not have someone watching over my shoulder 😅 i mean i will have someone watching over my shoulder next monday cause one of my supervisors will be with me and helping me out cause monday specifically is supposed to be pretty busy, but then after that i’m on my own.

i’m very fucking terrified, extremely nervous, and kinda excited to be on my own. i just really wish i wasn’t on the front line 😅 i don’t like it, like at all lmao! i much prefer being in the back/in the drive thru lol! but all next month i’m scheduled to be on the front line 🙃 i’m really not looking forward to it 😣😓 but hopefully my supervisor will schedule me to be in the drive through more soon 😅

Okay so. It's complicated because ofc it is with them. Technically Tyland in every timeline? I mean, it's very weird because Tyland tries to rig it so Elayna makes a move first, and it's very slow burn. But also, Elayna knows that's what he's doing so she pushes back until he snaps

18. How are they like on a road trip together?

First of all, Elayna is a passenger princess whenever she and Aemond go anywhere. Aemond refuses to let anyone else drive. So Elayna gets to sit pretty in the passenger seat. I know the stereotypical image of a passenger princess includes feet on the dash, but Elayna knows better. Aemond is meticulous about everything, but he is ESPECIALLY meticulous about his car. To the point Aemond won't even let Elayna pack the car. She's just to bring her bags and set them by the car

Elayna's role once they're on the road is navigator. She's the one reading directions off Google. Elayna is a fantastic navigator btw. She'll tell which stop light is the turn well in advance, she gives out times to things, and she'll straw any drink if they go through a drive thru without being asked

Elayna is absolutely the one on the look out for fun things to do. Aemond used to be the "We're heading straight there, no meandering" type, but he's learned to loosen up some. He usually lets Elayna have one detour/weird road side attraction on a 3-4 hour trip. If it's longer, he'll allow two. If it's multi day, they have to plan it out in advance

These takes about what's racist that end up being racist themselves also continue to. Overlook how blatant the show's writing is about racism. Every time they present an action or character as racist it gets called out textually and thwarted in short order and they're consistently good at keeping racism to these instances. In part bc the writing room and cast is very diverse themselves. If Izzy was meant to be a stand in for colonialism we'd KNOW the characters would KNOW and it'd be a stated reason they'd move against him... this isn't the kind of show where that'd slip through the cracks or be obfuscated it'd be right there in the text.

And also reducing a character's actions and motivations to their race and their race only is ??? Racist lmao if everything Ed does and says is bc he's a poc (and it's always this general term, possibly to cover up that they're looking at this like he's Black and specifically Black American and not Māori. Shoving every single poc into the experiences of Black Americans is shockingly also racist) and not an intersection of whatever brands of brain weird, his class, his position as a pirate, his personality, every single other thing that makes Ed Ed along with his race it's weird! It's a weird way to read a text!

the show is just...... not subtle about racism. there isn't any gray area and there aren't any characters who are racist that we're supposed to sympathize with. the closest we get to that is black pete and stede saying a microaggression to the indigenous tribe in ep 2 which is immediately called out and corrected. the way the show portrays racism is often thru poc being able to reclaim power and subverting white supremacy. the writers of color were also explicit that they dont want to portray racial trauma as a driving character trait! blackbeard was also written before taika was officially casted (altho ik jenkins said he wanted to have taika play him) but i'm pretty sure a bulk of his initial writing would've been done with the character written aracially (he is not aracial, btw)

that and we also know that taika doesn't like having his writing or characters boiled down just to their race. he's talked about this before where he wants to write stories with māori characters that aren't centered on super serious interrogations of their identity. not erasing their māori heritage, but that it was alienating for him growing up and only seeing certain depictions on screen. also... idt there's any māori writers on the team. like i just don't think there's going to be a super in depth deep dive into ed's racial trauma unless there was representation of that in the writers room. jenkins and taika are both pretty good with that (i mean reservation dogs has an all indigenous writers room! we just gotta get some black natives in there too now lol....)

anyways, i do feel like there's a tendency for people to center their reading of ed, and the other characters of color as well, through a lens of an american view. which just happens to most often be a black american view. either that or people applying an indigenous american reading to ed's character and not actually. looking anything else up. which does a disservice imho like even to the other black characters who are all likely from different regions and experiences and therefore have different interactions with race. like frenchie, who's biracial and presumably had been "in service" in parts of europe has a completely different lived reality than oluwande, whos likely of the african diaspora and seems less familiar with majority white spaces. (these are guesses ofc)

shrugs idk it's just weird i feel like people put very little effort into trying to look into other experiences than what they're familiar with. which is an issue across fandom as a whole and something i think white fans and fans of color are both guilty of. i feel like a big part of it is a very american-centric view tbh (the continual shock and confusion from the brits at "olu is an offensive nickname" lol) which i am also american and need to work on my own biases and assumptions.

i want to be careful to not seem like i'm pushing blames onto fans of color or anything like that, but i also think it's necessary for us, as poc, to continue to challenge ourselves as well. there's a tendency in fandom to relate our analysis through a personal lens exclusively when that doesn't always cut it. when it comes to topics of identities separate from our own, we should be open to feedback to ensure we're not platforming misinformation or a limited view.

but there's soooo much rich and good diversity in ofmd that covers a wide range of identities that it feels like a shame to flatten them into a one size fits all reading. a great part of representation in media is that it exposes you to narratives you may not have been familiar with before, and ofmd offers a chance to engage with them on a deeper level!

I feel like Hooty would’ve worked at McDonalds for like a week, probably at the drive thru giving people meals straight into their cars and delivery too. There would be some people who thought he was really efficient but unfortunately McDonalds would’ve also got complaints from the people who he delivered food to. Like he’d probably just go in through a window or something since he’s used to doing that and people would think he’s a robber until he says “Here’s your McDonalds, hoot hoot!” and the customers would be pretty scared even though Hooty was just trying to help.

He’d get let go but not hold it against anyone and still be a regular, telling Lilith and the Owl House gang about that time he worked here. He would also eat just about anything and has tried the whole menu at some point.

As for King I think he’d get the chicken nuggets happy meal most of the time (maybe with chocolate milk as well). Every time he’d pass a McDonald’s he’d ask Eda if he could go and she would say no most of the time “We’ve got some food at home” but McDonald’s would be as a treat occasionally. Luz would take him sometimes, being the Cool Big Sister, although this would mean King watching Luz and Amity sharing a milkshake if they were out together while he eats his nuggets. Also Luz would give him some of her fries as extra even though happy meals already come with fries. Oh and King would totally want to collect all the toys that you get with them.

I understand most people don’t understand how pharmacies work. I don’t think corporations adding in things like drive thrus has helped retail pharmacy’s image either. But holy shit, this video (and especially the comments) fucking infuriate me

First off, I want everyone to know, a pharmacist has the 100% legal right to not fill your prescription for any reason. Now, normally when there is an issue with the prescription, the pharmacist will attempt to contract the prescriber to have something fixed, changed, clarified, etc. Rarely will a pharmacist ever outright refuse a prescription. I’ve seen it happen only a few times- and those few times came with good reasons. Remember, this is their license on the line. If they were to allow a prescription to get filled that could hurt or even kill you, and something did happen to you, then legal authorities come back at the pharmacist first for allowing it to be dispensed. I hate seeing comments like “this is between me and my doctor!!”. Your pharmacist knows more about medications and drug interactions than your prescriber. Your pharmacist is a healthcare professional. For the love of god they’re not fucking fast food workers that stand around and approve every medication they see.

Second, also in response to the comments, if you’re gonna complain about HIPAA, you better at least spell it right. It isn’t “HIPPA” 🙄. Anyway, yes a pharmacist can ask you any medical question they’d like. I can ask you any question I’d like as a pharmacy tech! I just can’t take your medical information and just tell the next random person in line. That is what HIPAA is. We’ve had a woman complain in the pharmacy that asking for her birthday- which is how we look up your medication in the first place- is a violation of HIPAA. It’s fucking not.

In response to the video- no one refused to fill the prescription. What most likely happened is this: Mounjaro is currently only FDA approved for type 2 diabetes. Not weight loss. Insurance rarely covers Mounjaro anyway. Won’t cover it at all for weight loss. There is a manufacturer discount card that can bring it down to $25 (this has changed). In order to bill the discount card, it basically needs to be billed thru insurance first, then be rejected, then billed thru the discount card which would usually bring it to the $25. They changed this for the new cards. Because of auditing, it now only covers the prescription if there is a type 2 diagnosis on the prescription. It will not cover it without it. So what probably happened is that the pharmacist tried to contact the prescriber for a diagnosis when the discount card didn’t go through, the provider didn’t get back to them, so they’re asking the patient (which they can legally do!) if they are using it for weight loss or diabetes. If course, a chain retail pharmacy can fill it for cash, if you’re willing to pay over $1000 out of pocket for it. Which I doubt the patient being mentioned in this video wanted to do. I specify chain pharmacy btw, because an independent might out right refuse to fill it solely based on profit alone. What if they order in Mounjaro, which has a huge cost, and you say you’ll pick it up for cash, but you never do? Now that pharmacy is out major $$$. Not as big of a deal for chain pharmacies, but it can hurt an independent. At the end of the day though, it wasn’t a refusal to fill, it just wasn’t covered and the patient didn’t want it. I’m sure had this woman just called and asked the pharmacist would’ve told her that. 

I do have 1 final point though. I’d like to point out this woman is a NP- Nurse Practitioner- and NOT a doctor. I know a lot of people don’t know the difference between PA/NPs and actual doctors, but I can’t emphasize enough that while she can diagnose and treat, she did NOT go to an actual medical school a doctor went to. Looking at her profile, she works at a place called “Lotus Healthcare and Aesthetics”, which while they say they offer physicals and vaccinations… it seems to me they focus heavily on “beauty and aesthetics” such as spray tanning and lash extensions…. Ya know, real medically important shit. If you wanna learn more about this shit just look over at r/Noctor and you’ll see what I mean

I’m not shocked this woman doesn’t know shit about pharmacies. But she spreads a message that I have to deal with every day at work. Pharmacies, as a whole, are not your enemy. Drug manufacturers and insurance companies will cause most of your headaches. Corporations that overwork and underpay both the pharmacists and techs are also the problem too. (Look, I’m not saying there aren’t shit pharmacists and you can’t have a bad experience. I’ve met awful pharmacists and techs. But most people I’ve met truly care about their work and their patients).

Leverage: Redemption finale, the past, scales falling from Harry's eyes, and how that ties into Sophie's journey

Can we talk about Harry and Grace (what is it with white men in this show universe calling their ex-wives their wives?)?

In the second part of the pilot, we find out that Harry has a daughter because of his response to Breanna mentioning EDM. In The Rolling on the River Job, the WAoVW bit he does with Sophie strongly suggests that he has experience with a broken marriage. Further, his attempts at doing a really good job (long hours, possibly even turning his firm more crooked as we find out in The Bucket Job) were for his wife and daughter (or, at the very least, this is how he justifies it to himself). All he wanted to do was love them, which he veeeeeeeery slowly reveals to the team (most specifically Sophie) over the season.

His 0 to 60 in emotions surprises Sophie (the daiquiri she's holding, btw, is such a New Orleans thing and if you ever go there please have one but get a small size and also share it with a friend because they are strong AF - and yes, they're drive-thru and yes, they tape the straw and leave a fraction of the straw wrapper on top to count as a "closed container").

Side note, but like look??? I'm like so jealous of Gina's legs? Sophie's in mostly longer pants and skirts this season, but I was like damn. Anyway, I'm 5'2. Moving on.

As the two-part finale unfolds, it becomes clearer and clearer that he's put Grace and Ethan's relationship on a pedestal (and Grace and Ethan as individuals, to be fair).

I do like that Harry's "no no this one's different" angle doesn't work out, validating Breanna's perspective, specifically because she's the youngest. I also like that Breanna's the one least personally involved with Harry, so she has the most clarity in this situation. This show is pulp but does not pull punches. All corporations are rotten. All of them.

We find out that Grace is a lot like Harry was before his heel-face turn. She just wants a comfortable life. She doesn't care who suffers on the way to making that happen. She finds Harry's new morals naive.

Harry, in trying to figure out his future, has actually been chasing his past. That's a theme that is dealt with a lot in Leverage. We've seen Nate and Sophie do it (apart as well as with each other). We've seen Eliot do it, and even Parker gets an episode where she does it a little. Harry learns, as they all do, that they can't go back.

I wonder about Becky in this situation, who knows enough to see her dad's business dealings as evil but doesn't see it in her stepdad...until now. I kind of want to know where her head is at.

To pull Harry's journey next to Sophie's journey, which is designed to be a parallel, Sophie's reaching for a bit of her past too. But her decision is more complex, because she's already gone through a "don't reach for your past for unhealthy reasons" section of her life. As she tells Hardison in the premiere, the past is serving as a handhold for her at that point. But Sophie's past is not as linear as Harry's. There are parts of her past that even she loses track of. Directing theater was where she knew she belonged at the end of the og series. It makes sense that she'd look there this time around.

No one's happy she wants to go (Parker's the only one who says it explicitly), but at this point, Sophie's not sure she belongs with this group of people who are her family, if it's serving who she is now or if it's serving her past. It's taking down RIZ that is a turning point for her professionally and personally. Much like cons were/are an outlet for her acting skills in the first series, they're now an outlet for her directing skills. There's a shift in perception that happens with her during this finale where the connections in everything click. And I love that.

In the end of course, Sophie and Harry both make decisions to go back to family, because they do ultimately see their place as beside them (for now) - and that is a decision that ties in to who they've decided they are as people as well as the work that they want to do. They both feel that's a decision worthy of them and that they are worthy for the people they have chosen to stand beside.
