Ghost in the Machine

This is the master post for Ghost in the Machine links, character refs and FAQs.

I will try my best to keep this post as up to date as possible.

What is Ghost in The Machine?

GITM is a DCA AU and a fic set in the retrofuture (2055ish) long after Fazco has shut down. An eccentric collector has been acquiring versions of the Daycare Attendant animatronic from closed locations around the world. The story involves a reader character who has been brought into repair the original post-Ruin DCA from the games, and hijinks ensue. There are also ghosts.

Where can I read the fic?

GITM is currently being posted on Ao3, and is updated every three weeks on Saturdays. The fic is being beta'd by the tremendously talented @bubbiethesaur. You can read GITM here!

FAQ~

Why haven't you answered my GITM ask?

One of three reasons: 1) your ask was too spoilery* 2) I'm waiting to answer it with art 3) ADHD

*spoilery includes but is not limited to: any questions about dual-AI or XYZ character's sun/moon variant; questions about character backstories and lore; questions about characters that have not featured in the fic yet (e.g Nova, Sanii, Harvest, Sunflower, Sandman etc); asks speculating about potential future scenarios (don't get me wrong, I love these asks, but I can't answer them!)

Where are all the Moons?

Read and find out. Seriously. There are at least 5 Moons who are core to the plot but I'm not going to talk about them, no matter how nicely you ask!

Does XYZ character have a Sun/Moon counterpart?

Some of them do, some of them don't. The dual-AI stuff is majorly plot related. If I'm not talking about someone's Sun/Moon counterpart, rest assured you will find out eventually. I won't be spoiling any of it on tumblr though :)

Can I create fanart of GITM?

Yes yes yes please do and please tag me when you post it so I can see it/reblog! If you are unsure if something is ok, please ask.

Can I create fanfic of GITM?

Super flattered about this. I have a longform answer to this question which you can read here. But tl;dr yes you can, please tag/credit me, do not spoil/try to write the lore, and please do not write GITM au (e.g mafia, mer, medieval). I have my own plans for this stuff and I would prefer to release the designs/stories in my own time. If you are unsure if something is ok, please ask.

Can I create NSFW GITM content?

Until recently I had blanket perms that allowed NSFW GITM content. I'm updating this to let you guys know I'm no longer comfortable with people making this content. Back when the community was small, I felt differently, but as time has passed a lot has changed and I've found myself becoming increasingly anxious about it. If this boundary changes again in the future, I will update this FAQ.

Do you have character refs I can use?

There is a collection of art 'refs' for each character on the Misutamojis discord. Latest link here.

There are no proper call-out sheets/refs currently, but I have a huge body of art for the characters on this blog which should give you more than enough info for most of them. I will get around to creating proper refs eventually, in which case I will link them here.

I've heard there are secret GITM drabbles, where can I find them?

I used to post frequent drabbles from future chapters in the DCA Palooza discord, I have recently deleted the majority of them as people were going back and binging them which hadn't been the intended reading experience. Anywho, this question probably refers more to the spicy drabbles (which people have very kindly made a lot of delicious art for). These are still around! You just need to access the spicy channel and do some digging.

Is there a GITM discord?

Nope! There is a server for GITM emotes and a busy thread in the DCA Palooza, but currently I don't have any plans to make a GITM-centric discord community. If that does happen in the future it's likely I will simply convert the emotes server (Misutamojis).

Past life wardens?? 👀

Past Life Wardens is what I'm currently calling an au of mine! Thus far, the plan is for it to be a collection of one-shots, but I'm not opposed to doing something multi-chapter if FinFault allows me the time/energy XD

(Writing snippet after the info)

The premise is that after being killed in the Life Series, all name-tagged wardens are reincarnated as warden-hybrid players on Hermicraft with the derivative code genetics of the player who named them. So the au centers around these three:

Rev (Rancher's Revenge) - she's the oldest and most level-headed of all of them. Her player data has her code derivative from Tango only, but he and Jimmy coparent and both utterly adore her. She spends most of her time on Hermitcraft with Tango since she's not one for world-hopping the way Jimmy is, and she helped out with parts of DO2. Like Tango, she's a fast learner with redstone, but what she really excels at is building. Although very quiet and reserved, Rev is incredibly chaotic and is often the ringleader of any antics the warden kids get up to. Her role model is her uncle Zed.

Dish (Etho's Dishwasher) - the second oldest of the warden kids, his code is derived from both Grian and Etho since one made the nametag and the other named the warden. Etho is a notoriously absent father, so Dish spends most of his time in Grian's social circle. He's skilled with an elytra, and Scar has taught him the art of the HoTGuY (and the art of the con). He loves watching the masters terraform and is beginning to learn the skill himself.

Goober - Etho's favorite. Goober is the youngest (and loudest) of the warden kids, but he's incredibly sweet and finds a lot of joy in gathering resources to give to other players for their builds. However, despite the kindness he shows most of the time, he is very much Rev's "gremlin little cousin," and he is eager to assist her and Dish with pranks (with Grian's motto of "prank hard, but clean up your messes after.") Etho is teaching him how to do redstone, which many players think is a bad idea. Do not let him near tnt.

Any future wardens in future Life Series seasons will be added to this au, and I will likely also feature my Team Rancher fan-kid Phoenix as Rev's younger sister. (I don't think I've talked about her before on here, but I'll likely talk about her more in a different post if people like this one.)

I've had this au for a few months now, and I am happy to keep writing or expand on it if people like it, so please lmk if you like this au idea! I really appreciate feedback on all of my works! :) <3

Now here's a snippet of the first one shot (currently unpublished) that I wrote for this:

Her darkness fades completely, a calm relief taking the place of the fear. It’s a new feeling too. All of these feelings are new. The room she’s in is small but open, and she can see all of it without needing to use any echolocation. There’s an entire wall of chests to her right, and the floor is made of packed mud with a rug depicting a shirtless player in the middle of it. She isn’t sure how she knows the words “chest” and “rug” and  “packed mud,” but she knows them all the same.  To her left is an expanse of cavern, empty save for a vague sense of intention, whatever that means. She can sense the other wardens of this world from where she sits, the sculk in all the spaces between emitting a faint aura of contentment. They like it here, wherever “here” is.  Other wardens? Or just wardens in general? She looks down at what she can see of herself. Her skin is the same dark greenish-navy it always was, but she has the hands of a player, the legs of a player, the torso of a player. Before now, she didn’t know what “warden” meant, nor did she comprehend that it was a term that applied to her. But now that she isn’t one, she understands that she used to be one.  The outfit she wears is not something she remembers putting on, but she likes it. It’s a knee-length black dress made of heavy wool, lined at the top and bottom hems with thick beige fur. The sleeves are longer than her arms, with matching fur at their hems too. A short beige and turquoise cloak rests on her shoulders overtop the dress, the part that covers her chest embroidered with decorative black ribs.  There is an object in her hand, and she brings it closer to her face to examine it, having been holding it without realizing the whole time. It’s a rectangle, perfectly sized to feel natural in her grasp, and the material it’s made of is indescribable by design.  “Communicator.” The term pops into her mind like a surprise gift.  She sees a series of words on it, ones she can read despite never having interacted with the concept of written language before: RanchersRevenge joined the game [joehillssays] howdy to a dish best served cold! [Xisuma] hello? [VintageBeef] that is not a name I recognize [Xisuma] me neither [Xisuma] new person, are you at spawn? [Xisuma] no one at spawn [Xisuma] where are you? [joehillssays] you might have to get their coords yourself if they don’t know how to use a comm  [Xisuma] the admin interface says they’re at Tango’s base Her attention lingers on that name. Tango. She knows that name.  “See? I’m not gonna hurt ya.” She doesn’t understand the language the player is speaking, but he sounds reassuring in his tone. He holds out a piece of steak. She takes it, pausing for a moment to inspect the meal before devouring it. “Well that must’ve been tasty.” He whisper-laughs below the sound threshold of the sculk sensors, reaching out to ruffle the turquoise fluff between her antlers. His touch is as warm as his flames. Soothing. Comforting. Ignoring her sense of instinct, she waddles closer to him, lightly bonking her forehead against his shoulder.  His expression melts with a squeak he fails to stifle. “Ah! Adorable with extra cute!” A sculk sensor chirps nearby, and he quickly scans their surroundings, shrinking down in alertness. “Now let’s skadoodle you up to the surface before we summon any of your friends.” He gently ties a nametag around her wrist. She can’t read it.

I deviated from the canon DL events just a little bit with this to make Tango more caring/parental towards Revenge in this au (rather than raging bc the game kept crashing irl while trying to bring a warden to the surface).

But yeah! Lmk if you want more of this au, and if so, I will very likely drop all of this one shot and write more (and draw some for it too) <3

For the Tessa Solver AU:

I am VERY normal for this Au. I have so many questions like,

How did JCJenson react when they finally saw Cyn and realized how similar she looked to the Elliott's Heir?

How would Nori, Yeva and the other Solver Hosts react to seeing how far humanity is willing to go to wield the Solver's power.

Does Tessa begin to look more and more like a Drone or does the Solver powers preserve her flesh and organs like Cyn seemed to do in Cannon.

Does Cyn know that Tessa was taken off-world. Can she sense she's alive but not exactly where? Could that be a reason for her allowing the Solver to absolutely destroy Earth when she finds out Tessa isn't there anymore, why she lets it send out Disassembler Drones to the colonies hoping one of them would come back with news of Tessa

I’m so glad people like my Au

So for the first question I’m still debating how JCJenson got there hands on the Absolute Solver virus, as canon doesn’t really give us an answer. I’ve decided that they extract it from Cyn after the massacre then tries to disassemble her and the other manner drones but as we know that fail. Anyway back on track they’ve seen both Tessa and Cyn and they did notice that they had the same hair style, the scientists don’t think much of it as they know Tessa “played dress up” with her drones and mostly thinks she’s a bit weird for getting so attached to her drones.

At first the other Solver hosts don’t really like Tessa, nothing to do with her personally, they just don’t like humans, for obvious reasons. As they get to know Tessa they grow increasingly disturbed by how far they’re willing to go in the name of science. I should note that the scientists did start off treating Tessa better then the other test subjects but slowly treat her worse and worse, due to a combination of desensitization and Tessa’s growing hostility towards the scientists. I haven’t finalized exactly how I want the core collapse to happen but the scientists cruelty is definitely going to be a turning point.

Tessa will mostly stay the same the only thing I’ve planned for so far is that her iris gets bigger so I have a bigger canvas to work with. I just realized while writing this I never showed how her eyes look.

The yellow glow stays in her iris. When she’s not using anything her eyes are normal but she can basically call up an HUD similar to the drones, that’s the design with normal drone ovals, she uses it more later in the story, the humans treat her horribly anyway might as well have useful info on hand or even pull up a game to play while she’s locked up. The solver symbol shows up same as it does for other solver drones. You can see why her iris being bigger would help but I thought it be weird for her to have them before the start of the story so I just chalk it up to the Absolute Solver changing her looks. I also wanted a unique design as Cynessa/Flesha is just a drone screen with human skin over it and that wouldn’t really work with this AU as she’s still human.

Oh Cyn knows Tessa is being treated horribly and she hates it, she’s aware she’s on copper 9 and in a place called Cabin Fever but not exact location. Cyn definitely wouldn’t have let the Solver destroy earth if Tessa was still on it, as for later in the story, I don’t want to spoil to much but let’s just say the relationship between Cyn and the Solver does not stay the same as in this post.

Hi ! I’ve been a massive fan through the years, seeing you develop Hyden and his world and how full of life and wonder and details is so awe inspiring and cool! I really love your work and your style is so vibrant and electric! It always makes me happy when I see your posts pass by

I wanted to ask if you had any advice about wanting to share your stories with the world. I get so anxious that no one will care and I’ll just be posting to no one. I don’t want fame , just mutual interaction or have people genuinely curious , hear about others stories and be able to tell my own

How did you start? I don’t want to assume , but you do have so much confidence and are very well spoken in the way you explain your lore, what helped you get over any fears or worries?

My thoughts on your other questions about sharing stories are long, rambling, and disjointed… apologies in advance for the length, I swear I tried to edit this down:

Regarding sharing stories, I'd say the most useful thing you can possibly have is to have at least one friend you share story stuff with who is totally on board with it and having fun too. I've been coming up with stories and characters my entire life, and only twice have I really had an audience for it. Every other time it was just me and my sister, or me and a couple friends, or me and my wife doing creative stuff semi-privately just for the joy of the craft.

(Of course, I know that's easier said than done… but if you do have creative friends, organizing some plans to share stories with each other, ask questions, create AUs where your OCs from different stories interact with each other, etc can be very psychologically nutritious.)

Regarding feeling anxious, I suppose I never felt much anxiety about it myself, so I'm not sure how to advise there… I was a teenager on Neopets where putting massive amounts of work into character stories that nobody might ever read was the norm… unless you were astronomically popular, it was expected that you would probably never hear from your audience and would never know how many people read your stories. Everything was primarily for your own entertainment, and I carried that approach forward into other creative works. Of course, it's hard not to feel a little self-conscious these days, when you can easily see what people are saying and see who is getting "engagement" and who is not... but I do think that aiming to entertain yourself (and perhaps one or two friends) first and foremost is the healthiest approach. Plus, if you are really invested in something and constantly producing lots of art and info about it, people tend to pick up on that positive energy.

Apologies if this isn't super useful... I know "just don't care and also happen to have a bunch of friends with very specific interests!" is not very helpful advice in itself.

I have many other thoughts on "launching" a story, how to meet other OC creators, and trying to build an audience who interacts with your characters... it's something I've thought about a lot. I can share my insights for others in this boat, if anyone's interested? I'm unsure if I should include them here since it might feel lecture-y to Anon (and also this post is long enough, PHEW). Let me know if you're interested in hearing them though!

on a positive concept for the abo au! I have also had ideas about how the reveal would go. Ivan is definitely under the impression that till will be pissed at him- and maybe stop being his friend after this.

but to Ivan’s supportive when he finally tells till he is just delighted! Till already loves the kid and and so happy that he actually gets to keep them he doesn’t have time to think about Ivan not telling him- he’s just so happy and excited to be a dad. He can pick Ivan up and spin him around and excitedly talk about how “WE have a BABY?!??” OH MY GOSH ITS MY BABY!”

-until his logical brain catches up with him and he ever so gently puts Ivan down and goes “aw why didn’t you tell me? Did you think I would be a bad dad :(“ and he looks all bummed and Ivan is immediately freaking out because this was noT what he was expecting. So Ivan is like “omg nooo I thought you would be an amazing dad and I had to sit down from how horny that made me like 20 times a day-“ and till is not paying attention to the important info and is like “oh did you not want me around? Was it just my personality you didn’t like? Did you think I would be a bad mate to you? :(“ and Ivan is like “I did NOT think u being my mate was EVER on the table - because u thought you would hate being tied down to me”

and till looks at Ivan likes he is the dumbest idiot in the world like “why wouldn’t I want to be ur mate?if you let me I would give you everything I could to make u happy “ and Ivan just explodes with happiness and is like “are u asking me now to be ur mate? For real??” And they kiss a million times and are happy forever!

(and later that night in THEIR bed they share because they are TOGETHER! till can be all embarrassed about how mad he was at himself and Ivan can laugh and tell him how endearing it was and they cuddle and fall asleep in eachothers arms)

and every time ivan is putting himself down, till was just... bite him on the bond spot. however, ivan realizes this at some point and loves the feeling of till biting him, so he'll do it whenever wherever.

i cant think of anything your concept is too good and the entire omegaverse thing has been fleshed out ;-;

till announces it as fast as he can on social media, showing off ivan's bond mark and his baby and for a long period of time all that's on anyone's feed is the tillivan family because of how much of it is posted.

Meet: Ouřa Thorn!

Hi hi I have a hyper fixation on the smiling critters the size of fricking Saturn and all you amazing beans are making me feral enough to post on this site again PFTT- SO here’s my take of the space rider au that was made by the AMAZING @onyxonline (dude your art is like my world rn good job 👍🏾✨)

Also what would I be without a lil lore drop so that’s all below hehe :3

Ouřa Thorn is based off of a Armadillo girdled lizard, though due to their horns, and massive size, many confuse them for a dragon or a wyvren of some sorts (not that they care to correct).

They joined the space riders in their teens, and just never left- doing the odd jobs where ever they could, cleaning, cooking, maintaining crafts, ect. They had no powers to their knowledge, and if they did they weren’t noticeable or activated yet.. and well many crews don’t have room or need for a wannabe space maid. So Ouřa Thorn stayed at the base.

They were fine with this, they would be a little bit of a sore thumb in the crew since lack of fighting skills, powers, and that they couldn’t wear any of the cool uniforms without shredding them with their spines. (Sure they could flatten them, but it only takes one spook for them all to spike up and poke someone or rip something :<)

The world however, always has other plans. Whilst they were working in the supply section, checking out crates that came with make, gear, food, what ever critters had mailed to base had to checked through carefully to ensure nothing sketchy was put inside. Standard precautions, and for a good reason.

One of the closer priests had tried to mail some their followers straight to the base to try and breach and take over it, or to lay low and snoop out info.

Ouřa Thorn heard one of their fellow mail sorters shriek as a gang of the cults follows breached into the docking bay. Sirens filled the air as the base was alerted of the breach, and hopefully some of the riders would be able to get to the docks and stop the cult before any casualties or damage happened.

When the riders arrived at the scene- well. It was quite the scene. Ouřa Thorn always had powers. They just need the right amount of pressure to kick start it.

Under the stress of critters they cared about being in danger from the cult, Ouřa Thorn gained their only ability. Their symbol is the Ouroboros, representing the cycle of rebirth and destruction, as well as the World Serpent.

Over all, it was a little bit of a shock of see a massive Lindworm aggressively hoarding all of the docking staff while hissing angrily at a heap of cultists, laying still on the floor.

This form is absolutely a last choice move, due to its destructive behavior and the factor that it is high in energy to maintain, leaving Oura Thorn exhausted afterwards. Though with all those spines and thick skin, they’re practically a tank for charging through lines hehe.

After the docking incident, their started to consider being a space rider :>

Personalities/extra info below-

Pickle- a very smart guy, but he is also quite pessimistic and mean. He's best friends with Taco. At first, he's mainly using her to get further into the game. He then gains a soft spot for her and tries to help her as well.

Taco- she's a major sweetheart, but also extremely dumb, meaning she's a great target for getting used. She doesn't believe people when they tried to tell her that Pickle was using her, since Pickle is her best friend. She prefers to tell the truth/be truthful rather than lie.

Apple- she is quite a smart gal, and one to not believe people easily unless given firm proof. She's quite sensible with realistic beliefs. She's able to figure out a lie quickly and easily.

Marshmallow- a quiet girl who only speaks to correct people or to spread her own opinion. Despite that, she's quite optimistic and prefers not to be aggressive. That doesn't mean she's nice, though.

OJ- probably would be the worst guy to own a hotel, but he's very friendly. He gets excitable easily and is quite immature, easily distracted.

Paper- unfriendly, probably evil. He is a bit of a loner, but he does hang out with OJ sometimes. He's extremely untrusting and enjoys bulling people.

Knife- a very shy guy who can't stand up for himself. The main target for bulling from most of the contestants. He is unable to stand up for himself.

Bomb- he's quite smart and very loyal. But he is still a jerk, being very apathetic and coldhearted. He is able to speak in complete sentences but does mess up a lot when experiencing intense emotions. He has a speech disorder, but when to speech therapy to help correct it.

Balloon- more similar to his season one self. He is mean and self-centered. He became this way after being picked on by his weight constantly. He's lazy, barely trying in challenges unless threatened with elimination.

Baseball- an untrustworthy liar, who's the worst leader anyone could count on. He lies constantly to save his and his friend's skin, and is also a complete coward.

Nickel- the opposite of sarcastic, he always tells the truth and prefers the truth, along with the fact he's extremely calm. He practices yoga and meditation in his free time.

Salt- she's a humble girl who is very considerate of other people's emotions. This applies to everyone by Pepper. Her rival is Pepper. Once best friends turned to enemies for reasons they refuse to talk about. The two hate eachother.

Pepper- a very smart girl who likes to plan everything. She's very quiet, but can be seen having screaming matches with Salt. The two are practically at each other's throats all the time.

Bow- an unenthusiastic girl who'd rather be sleeping than doing anything else. She was forced onto this show because MePhone needed more contestants. She is compliant doing what is asked without much complaining. She is trying to figure out her gender but is currently still going by she/her.

Lightbulb- a highly irritated contestant who hates loud noises. She hates slacking off, preferring to work 24/7, and then sit down for a second. She has commonly overworked herself without much care. She is very pessimistic, thinking the world is a hateful place without any good.

Paintbrush- they barely take this game seriously, doing the bare minimum, and they prefer to hang out and bond with the other contestants. They are very lazy and laid back, not getting angry easily. They are irresponsible and unserious.

MePhone4- preferably going by MePhone. He is a carefree host who is definitely not fit to host. Being very lenient and honest about challenges and eliminations. Though, he has the flaw of being apathetic and barely caring about the competition or who wins.

Ok ok ok I'm gonna just dump all my DCA OC thoughts/info in a post cause I'm shy with rambling about them individually with ppl atm 👉👈💦

BUT OK SO I've been like rattling this idea around in my brain for quite a while! At first I just had Paradox and he was just in his own little AU world thing, but then I decided to just take all my DCA ocs and shove them into a world together and they just work at different Pizzaplexs and stuff.

Paradox's info is still pretty much the same! He's tired of being treated badly by adults and acting out by retaliating with pranks and it's getting on Fazco's last nerve. So they hired a handler to keep him in check.

I got my other Eclipse model, Equinox, he's from a defunct Pizzaplex, there's a lot that went into it closing down, but before he could be decommissioned like the rest, he managed to escape and is 'on the run'. He travels cross-country on a motorcycle with a mission to help other animatronics get out from under Fazco. He totally leans into the 'badboy' persona and has modified himself over time to look how he wants to.

And then there's Umbra! He's a Moon model that Equinox picked up on his travels, and is his journey partner! Umbra was also a Daycare Attendant and had a Sun counterpart, though unfortunately he was officially decommissioned before Umbra could do anything. It's a sensitive subject for him and he's completely on-board with Equinox's plan to save as many animatronics as they can because of it, and maybe take Fazco down too. Umbra is super smart, and a little shy. He tries to make up the plans, but half the time Equinox goes jumping into potential danger before he can even finish getting his thoughts out. It exasperates him, but Equinox is 'totally cool' to him and man he wishes he could be like that and boy he's kinda hot too oh wait wait wait keep it together!

Lumi and Nova are Daycare Attendants who were separated and updated as part of a rebranding for their pizzaplex! Though mysteriously after a year, Nova has gone missing and Lumi has no idea where he's gone. Every night Lumi tries to find clues and access computers to try to find out what happened to him along with searching the pizzaplex from top to bottom. (Nova is actually alive but was moved to a completely separate pizzaplex where Fazco figured he'd 'fit in' better and hasn't made up their mind if they want to keep Lumi alone or build another Sun counterpart for him.)

Then I got Sol and Lune, they're mini Sun and Moon DCA models, and were made more so to be helpers for human daycare employees rather than actual DCAs. They were made as a test run in comparison to regular DCA models and it was found that the regular DCAs were more popular with the kids than the mini versions, so now they don't come out too often and are kept basically in a storage closet. They're only let out when a certain threshold amount of kids is met and the human employees need help or for events. Sol is fed up with being a 'toy stuffed in a closet' and is making plans to escape. Lune tries to be a voice of reason but Sol is pretty hard-headed.

Last but not least I got my pink DCA, Astra! I still don't know much about them, but I think she'd be the next DCA model that Equinox and Umbra find. She's got wings, though she can't fly, and I think she's a beta model that isn't released to the public. They're not quite a Sun model but close to it, not sure how to describe it really! Super sweet, upbeat, and cutesy but they're ready to throw hands and they pack quite the punch for being so petite!

I also may have more DCA OCs knocking around in my brain as vague ideas atm that eventually will get thrown into this hot mess of a mix later...but uh YEAH!

Eventually everything just goes to shit with Fazco and all my OCs end up in a group together but I haven't figured out everything yet. There's a plot in there somewhere! *vague hand gestures*

thoughts on sonja & martha for February?

Oh this is such a fun pairing to think about! I like don’t primarily ship them, but there are a few AUs I have in mind where they’re shipped and they do always have fun vibes.

In my post timeline/main universe, they aren’t together. There Martha and Sonja are kinda meant to be foils. They are both focused on magic, but Martha is a healer whose primary focus is reversing magic-caused ailments and Sonja is using forbidden magic to learn necromancy.

So within my main universe, they don’t tend to get along all that well, at least at the beginning. Martha sees Sonja as being far too reckless and unconcerned with her own safety. Sonja sees Martha as being incredibly judgey and butting into business that isn’t hers. I haven’t plotted it all out yet, but I like to imagine a storyline where they soften towards each other.

For Martha this starts during the Capsize revival arc. Martha is very heavily on the side of just putting her spirit to rest and not playing with the powers of life and death. Then she’s forcefully shown what Capsize thinks “going to the afterlife” means. This doesn’t entirely stop her from thinking that the revival is a bad idea, but she does admit that Capsize’s soul is clearly willing and ends up helping Sonja with the research for protecting her and Spark when they actually do the revival.

Then Sonja I think this starts when her flux flu starts getting worse and - with the Realm of Mianite not having any of the resources that Ruxomar did - she ends up having to work with Martha to make sure she doesn’t, like, die. And I think Sonja really does start to appreciate Martha’s methods here when she proves able to figure out magic in the far more limited world (even if the gang definitely end up having to go on a long quest to actually get the things to control Sonja’s illness).

Basically, in my mind universe they aren’t really a ship, but I do want a storyline of two people with different takes on magic growing close and realising there is benefit to the other’s methods.

For actual ship stuff, I have them “together” in two aus.

One is my yuri vampire AU, where before Sonja was turned into a vampire, I do think Sonja and Martha were kind of a thing.

In my eyes, Sonja kinda idolizes Martha in this AU. Martha is an experienced vampire hunter who can go toe-to-toe with Lady Ianite and live to tell the tale, she has knowledge that Sonja can only dream of and makes her feel like she isn’t alone in the knowledge of vampires.

However, Martha is still Martha. When the main plot of the vampire au begins, AKA Ianite discovering Capsize who she believes is her long lost love reincarnated and begins stalking Capsize with the intent of turning her, Sonja comes to her begging for the knowledge to kill Ianite. Martha won’t give her the info because she knows that Sonja won’t stand a chance but she won’t tell her that she’s afraid to lose her when she’s already lost one loved one to Ianite.

So Sonja goes and gets herself turned into a vampire, loses nearly all her memories to the point that she can only remember resenting Martha and ends up having Ianite with the stalking and kidnapping Capsize plan she literally got turned into a vampire to try and stop.

Then Martha heavily blames herself for this and ends up protecting Capsize in her stead which does in fact lead to further antagonising of her by Sonja. Martha also, despite knowing that she should, can’t bring herself to kill the newly turned Sonja because she still sees the girl that she loved.

Basically an angsty ride.

There’s also an AU that I haven’t written out anywhere which is a yuri fae court.

Martha is a half-fae attempting to figure out why the fae are all suddenly at odds with each other as it’s affecting the town where she lives. Sonja is a trickster fae that’s forming… basically a traitor court that’s trying to force the three fae courts to war.

I haven’t plotted that out, but I do think it’s Martha x Sonja (along with other yuri stuff).

Basically, I have thoughts with these two, not always ship thoughts but I always think they have a fun dynamic to work through and grow with.

1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

It was sometime in 2017, and the first book I ever played was The Royal Romance, Book 1.

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined a couple Facebook groups in 2019. I just wanted to discuss stories with others who were interested, as no one in my real life reads Choices. I didn't even know I was entering a fandom. lol I started reading fanfic on Tumblr the following year, but I found Tumblr intimidating, so I was mostly a silent reader. I didn’t start writing and contributing until May 2021, mostly because Open Heart was ending and I was in denial. 🙂

3- How did you pick your blog name? 

It’s pretty boring, actually. I’m from NJ, and I write. I wanted it to be JerZwriter, so people would know it is Jer-ZEE-Writer, but that wasn’t doable, so it’s Jerzwriter, and most think it is Jerz-Writer. Oh, well!  

4- Pull up the first and last posts in your archive, and tell us about them!  

My first post was the first chapter of my Ethan x Casey x Tobias love triangle, Delaying the Inevitable (OH).  It was my very first fanfic and I really didn't think I'd write anything beyond that.  I was so green back then, not only to fanfic but to the fandom as well. I’m really glad that I was naive because I don’t think I would have had the courage to post it if I had, but I’m glad that I did. 

My last post was Falling for You, a little drabble I wrote for Tobias x Casey (OH), and it featured a commission by the talented artist @weetlebeetle. It was a light, fun piece that took place early in Tobias and Casey's relationship, and it shows Tobias at his absolute simpiest. Lol 

5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both? 

Oh, how I wish I could draw, but I can't.  So, I’m strictly a writer. I may try giving drawing a go again, but I don't expect much to come of it. lol

6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?

Choices was the first fandom I ever wrote for, and I started in May of 2021.  So, just over two and a half years. I have written a little bit for some other fandoms since that time, but I primarily write for Choices.

7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?

Tough question.  I write for Open Heart, Crimes of Passion, and Wake the Dead, and they are three of my favorite stories. I also loved Desire & Decorum, but I never wrote for it.  Though, I’m planning a re-read, and you never know. 🙂

8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?

It was the first chapter of Delaying the Inevitable. I was so green when I started that series that I’m sure there are things I would change, but I’m still very proud of it.  That series will always have a special place in my heart.  I’d like to revisit it one day to “clean it up”, it could use some condensing. But I would never change the storyline.

9- What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created? 

This is such an unfair question. lol The Delaying the Inevitable Series definitely comes to mind, but I’m also very proud of my Eli Sipes prequel stories, A Mother’s Journal, Coming Up Blank, and The End of the World. But Tobias and Casey are my favorite pairing, and I simply love the world I created for them. And while my headcanon for them is my favorite, I cannot pick just one fic for them, and I'm not going to! lol But, I've also written a bunch of AUs for them, and Friends* is one of my favorites.

10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?

Yes, to both! The fandom is much smaller today, but back when we were more active, I learned you couldn't predict how a fic would be received.  There are too many to name, but I will say whenever my smut does well (and quite a few of them have), I’m always astounded. lol 

11-  If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

This is such a difficult question because I believe the best stories incorporate a little of each, and, as a writer, exploring all three helps spur creativity. Also, my absolute favorite is angst with a happy ending, so there is definitely some fluff in there (and I'm never mad at a little smut being thrown in!) But if I were forced to choose, it would probably be angst.  I think that's where I am strongest, and I just love raw emotion. I think that’s where character development really occurs. I have not written as much angst recently, and I miss it.  Perhaps I need a change in 2024. 

12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

There are definitely parts of me in my MCs and OCs, but I do my best to prevent them from becoming self-inserts.  I'm not as cool as any of them, that's for sure! lol That said, I do find inspiration for my fics in real life, so there is bound to be a little crossover. When using real-life inspiration, I try to change details so that the fiction is not a carbon copy of the real-life event. Normally, by the time I'm done, they're hardly recognizable.

13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most? Where do you feel you are strongest?

I struggle most with setting a scene. Dialogue is my strong suit, and that just flows for me. It flows so much that sometimes I forget to describe what's going on around the conversation. I think this is particularly easy to do in fanfiction because so much of the "world" has already been provided for us, so I recognize this more when I'm writing original works.

The other thing I struggle with? Brevity. I know I can go on, and on, and on. lol I've gotten much better at this, but there is still room for improvement.

14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

(Elsa leaves the room, quietly crawls under her desk, and hides…) YES!!! Far, far too many, and no matter how much I share those posts that say, "You don't have to finish! If you're not feeling it, move on!" I don't believe it! lol I really want to make wrapping them up a priority in 2024.  But I also know writing - particularly good writing - cannot be forced.  So, it's a goal, but I'll only do it if I feel it’s right. 

15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first? 

It would depend on who asked.  I’m not ashamed of writing fanfic at all, but if I believed the person would be judgemental, I wouldn't be willing to share.  A few of my friends have read select pieces of my fanfic, and I’ve always received positive feedback from them. I wouldn’t be opposed to sharing more.  What I'd share would depend greatly on the person asking.

16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?

There are many published writers that I admire, but I don’t think they've influenced my writing here. Within the fandom, there are many writers who have inspired me in different ways. There is no way I can ever name them all. But I'd like to give a shout-out to some.

@jamespotterthefirst and @bex-la-get were among the first writers I read when I joined Tumblr. I found their passion for both canon and the worlds they created inspiring, especially as Open Heart was nearing its end and all of us addicts needed our fill. Reading their works helped keep the story alive for me and so many others, and it inspired me to try my hand at it as well. To my shock, they were both so encouraging and supportive of me when I arrived, and I'm forever grateful. Back then, I thought they were rockstars - and they are! But now, they're also friends. I wasn't familiar with @alwaysmychoices from the start, but when I came across their work, I was just blown away.  Weekend with Dr. Ramsey will live rent-free in my head forever, and that headcanon about Charlie calling Ethan the night before she marries someone else. (I faint.) Ohhh, the delicious angst! The way she made me feel what Charlie felt was just mind-boggling, and it encouraged me to really dig into my character's emotions and bring them to life in a more meaningful way.

Early on, I read @utterlyinevitable, and the thing that impressed me the most was how Dom was willing to "write stories that “went "go there.”  They tackled issues that others wouldn't touch.  In their world, everything wasn’t perfect, including the characters themselves. I admired that vision and, frankly, bravery, and it definitely encouraged me to write what I wanted to and not what I felt was expected of me.

More recently, @mydemonsdrivealimo inspired me to explore parts of my MCs that I have not delved into in the past.  In particular, Casey's bisexuality. It can be challenging to represent a bisexual character when they are in a straight-presenting relationship, and you risk alienating readers no matter what you do (looking at all readers here.) So it becomes easier to be lazy and ignore it. But that's a disservice to the character as much as it's a disservice to people living similar situations in real life... like I have many times. Through MJ's writing and our conversations, they've helped me become more aware and do a better job in this regard, and I'm not even sure if they know this - it may totally be news to them lol - but I'm eternally grateful. Now, I feel my girl Casey is free, and OMG, how I love our characters playing together in HC now!

Then there are @lilyoffandoms and @storyofmychoices, who bring joy to all that they touch. Who knew when Lily created a little drabble putting our characters in a new world together, it would end up being one of the brightest fandom spots of 2023? Who knew that so much more would stem from that one work? Seriously, it's been one of the highlights of my fandom experience this year, and it's helped me to find inspiration at times when I felt like it was lost. Thank you both - I am so lucky to have you both here!

There are so many more I could mention, but I'd still forget people and feel horrible, so I want to take the chance to thank every writer in the fandom for sharing their gifts with us. Each of you is an inspiration in your own way; each of you can give someone an idea, and you have no idea where that spark will lead. So, never stop sharing!

17-  Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

Delaying the Inevitable, Friends*, All in the Past, and the WIP What’s Forever For. I also think some of my Ethan x Tobias works would have made for a good sitcom, and how I wish my Tobias x Casey friendship with Bryce x Jensen would be an epic sitcom. The world needs it! lol   (Jensen belongs to @mydemonsdrivealimo.)

19- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art? 

I do. Mostly shorter stories that will never see the light of day, but also some more substantive works... which will also never see the light of day! lol I wrote a novel-length political thriller some time ago. It would need a ton of work to bring it up to 2024, as the political landscape has changed so much. I also have two original WIPs I've been writing. One is an angsty story about a friendship that's loosely based on a childhood friend I lost to cancer a few years ago.  The other is a polyamorous romance about two best friends who fall for the same person. It's really a beautiful, emotional story. If I like the end result, maybe I'll let it see the light of day... maybe. lol

20-  What other hobbies do you have?

I enjoy theater, and I'm lucky enough to live in the best part of the world to partake in that.  I go to a lot of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and local theater productions. I also love going to concerts - they’re like group therapy! Trust me, I got more out of seeing Noah Kahan and Hozier in 2023 than I did from the entirety of sessions with my therapist - and I loved my therapist. lol

Prior to 2020, I did a fair amount of traveling, and I hope to start doing a little more this year.  But I have to admit, since the lockdown, I’ve become more of a homebody, and I like it, so we’ll see how that goes! 

I used to be very involved with activism and advocacy for women’s, lgbtq+, and mental health issues. I still am, but in a different capacity than I was in the past. These issues require people fighting for them, and doing so has always been a huge part of who I am, but it can be draining, and burnout is real. I really reached the end of my rope. So, nowadays, I work as a volunteer for a couple local organizations that really mean a lot to me. I'm not involved in grassroots efforts or taking trips to talk to legislators as often, but I'm helping people on a smaller scale, and that still goes a long, long way.

22: BONUS - tell us anything you’d like (if you want to).

As most of you know, I’m one of the mods here at CFWC, so it was a little weird when my the wheel landed on my name.  But, honestly, it’s happened before, and I've just spun again, even though I am eligible. But this time around, I decided to do it. This fandom really means a lot to me, and I wanted to share a little more about myself and my crazy pixelated people.

I'm truly grateful to everyone in the fandom who does their part to make this a place that many, like me, still see as a place they want to be. We're smaller, it's imperfect, it has plenty of problems, but I am choosing to focus on the good... because there is much more of that than there is bad. So, thank you to each of you... and I hope we all have a wonderful 2024! xo

PS... My header... I know Tobias wasn't technically an LI... which was truly criminal. So, that's what fandom is for, fixing what canon effed up. lol My favorite canon LI is Trystan Thorne (COP). I tried adding their picture to the header alongside Tobias, but it looked terrible, so here I am. :)

Chilidog Vendor Adventures:

The events of this AU take place in an alternate timeline of Sonic's world, removing/altering many of its problematic entries in the timeline. The story follows the adventures of Quezz the Quokka. After a brutal incident with Metal Sonic, he pulls himself out of his mundane life to go on an adventure to wield the necessary strength to protect himself from evil. Along the way, he'll face many, many insurmountable challenges that he'll work to overcome, as he'll do anything to protect himself and the people he loves.

Crystal Eyes (Crystallize) AU:

An AU in which Sonic was created not long after project shadow upon the space colony ark, that concept in itself is not unique however Sonic was created with different dna strands then shadow, including an unknown Alien species with rubber hose qualities and flakes of the actual chaos emeralds themselves.

Description:

Using a separate sample of DNA that was sourced from [REDACTED] this project is equipped with the proper capabilities including speed, flexibility and proper control of momentum to assist in project shadows shortcomings. This unintentionally gave him weaknesses that are related to projects shadows strengths but that result is nothing to worry about as long as they remain together.

the GREEN and BLUE emerald were the base for this project. GREEN representing harmony and BLUE representing freedom.

GREEN shavings of the emerald were used to create the base for this projects eyes and BLUE for the base of the head.

It was expected that they would also be able to manipulate energy to use as weapons however this project instead is able to manipulate energy to create cartoonish manifestations of symbols, objects and people in the real world. Similar to a visible thought bubble.

This project is observably capable of speech and understands English. Yet they communicate solely through energy manifestations or by creating odd sounds through currently unknown means. These can include something like a ringing cowbell to even the release of a spring. Needs more research to decipher the meanings of aforementioned noises.

Still, even without manipulating energy into use of a weapon, they still have the ability to manipulate chaos energy to their will, why they haven’t chosen to use it as a weapon remains to be seen.]

His lack of speech is a nod to classic Sonic and his abilities are a nod to Sonic X and his cartoony nature, upon dawning inhibitors rings of his own he loses these abilities to manifest chaos energy into means of communication. He wears them around his shoulder and high calf due to the fact they were originally created for shadow and were cloned in order to properly inhibit shadows immense power, and Sonic being a smaller size had to wear them on larger parts of his body rather then his wrists and ankles.

Devoted himself to his clan and lived every second of every day as the ideal Warrior cat, revered the Stars and it seemed it payed of as he was made deputy

Stolen from him and given to some sniveling coward making googly eyes at a Thunderclan kittypet

VERY bitter

Tries to take charge in every situation, the other three tend to fight him on this depending on how dire it is

Gruff, blunt, cold, and easily irritable

“Ends Justify the means” as a lifelong motto, and they are doing Starclans will, so the Ends MUST be good

Does find some enjoyment in these missions, it's something to do, a chance to prove himself,

makes it feel less like his life is over

Generally acts as a moody, if very vindictive. Will sometimes just get very Overdramatic about something tho.

Out of the four, the one that most recognizes she messed up

Which isn’t saying much, she still sees her rebellion as justified, and Rowanstar as being more culpable just because of how weak he was

Rebellious teenager turns into a very rebellious ghost

She isn’t doing this for Starclan’s approval, she wants to be in Starclan when Violet dies so she can apologize for everything

Has something resembling a moral backbone

Still self serving in the end, and it’s not hard to have moral standard higher then zero

She tends to go along with the plans, but makes her displeasure abundantly clear

Is very caustic, snapping at everyone more than the others usually do

On the lighter end, she might play pranks on the rest of them, the others will find it funny as long as it doesn't happen to them.

Sometimes plays contrarian just for the sake of it

She is surrounded by stuck up fanatics that will do whatever Starclan tells them to, so why not screw with them a little?

Doesn't actually mind this As much as the others, She was bored and tired in Starclan with nothing but constant reminders of her mistake, now she is a ghost and gets to do spooky stuff occasionally, kick ass.

While Needletail is bothered by some of the stuff they do, doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy scaring some apprentices out of a forest because "Starclan's Will" or something.

Power is either luck control or something that similarly is unpredictable and upends everything

Was looked down upon in Starclan, he was an average warrior, and is now solely remembered as a consequence in what is the equivalent of an old wives tail

He wasn’t particularly ambitious or anything, but it does sting to be known as nothing more than what happens when you have a cross Clan relationship

Then suddenly THIS happens

Out of the four, he is the most afraid of ending up in the dark forest, for obvious reasons

Would have the thing most resembling a moral compass, but has absolutely zero spine

Is essentially resigned to doing whatever Starclan tells him so he can get back up there

Has also been dead the longest out of the four, so there is some disconnect between him and actually living, more like a loose memory at this point

In life was a smooth talker, real womanizing charmer, a real sleazy asshole

And he still acts like that occasionally

But under the surface he is just exhausted, wants to go back up to starclan and rest until he fades

But nope, he is going back down to the mortal plain, risk getting murdered by his ex, and have to work with a bunch of War Criminals

His power is warding of some kind, while the other three affect the physical world, he makes sure they don’t get attacked by the things lurking in the forest, or for other starclan spirits to find them and ask exactly what they are doing

Clear Sky

Very much enjoying getting to lord over other cats again

This was more or less his idea with what to do with at-risk Starclan cats, is trying to keep it on the down low in terms of activities

Not a secret, he did get the thumbs up from the rest of Starclan, but he does keep their operations vague in terms of what exactly happens

Starclan gets what it wants, prophecies come true, who is paying attention to the details

What does it matter if some mortal lives get ruined

Been dead for so long that the idea of a mortal life is almost unimaginable to him

Is proof of why Fading exists

Represents Starclan at both its most self righteous and amoral

He is morally right because he is the stars

You know the Vast from TMA? that's essentially what he can do

If you piss him off, you will be getting the worst case of vertigo of your life at best

Falling forever in a pocket dimension at worst

Falling from the very real sky and into the very real ground as a sort of midpoint between experiences

On the mortal plain, a clear sky means that he can observe almost everything from above

The Four learn to fear a bright sunny day and a cloudless blue sky, for it means that their “Benefactor” is watching

not overstepping! i am also a curious fellow, and you’ve given me an opportunity to Talk History.

see, i did not come up with the BDSM AU, but i’ve read it for years and became fascinated with how people played with it. i love fandom history, so i eventually started to wonder where it came from and how it evolved.

the first BDSM AU was written by Xanthe (who has a website you can read all her stuff on, xanthe.com, and it also has an faq about her original world, super interesting) back in 2006. now, it’s possible that other people independently came up with a similar idea earlier than this (indeed, theres an early 2000s fantasy book series with a Vaguely similar premise), but everything i’ve ever found cites Xanthe as the first to do it in fandom and the one to popularize it, so we’re going with that.

the fic series was Stargate: Atlantis fic (john/rodney, for those familiar) with the basic premise of “alternate universe where being bisexual and kinky is the default.” no biological factor! just a different balance of sexualities. i only read part of the very first fic because they’re quite long and i don’t all the way jive with Xanthe’s writing style, so take this with a cup of salt, but they also lacked the dystopian edge many of the modern fics have. let’s be honest—like many fic tropes, it was mostly an excuse to write smut :P.

now, while Xanthe was quite a big name, and did have people spinning off and writing their own versions of her world, it might not have gone anywhere was it not for Helenish. Helenish took issue with Xanthe’s spin on the world and thought that she hadn’t fully explored the worldbuilding potential. she wrote Take Clothes Off As Directed, which i’ve recced on this blog and in the notes of Free Falling, because it is PHENOMENAL. it kept Xanthe’s premise and used it to explore a sexism allegory, very very similar to my stuff and other current popular BDSM AUs.

people began writing in Helenish’s ‘verse, some minor drama broke out between the two writers and their followers (presumably minor—much of this happened on Livejournal, which famously and tragically had many accounts wiped in 2007-2008, especially accounts that posted queer stuff or nsfw stuff or, in cases like these, both. so it’s difficult to figure out what exactly was happening in fandom around then, especially if you’re me and never used LJ and don’t know how to effectively navigate it)

annnyway, the thing took off, made its way to other fandoms, more and more people wrote their own versions, etc. over time, people began combining it with Omegaverse fics, since the two are pretty similar; when those fusions were pulled apart later, they affected one another; this is where BDSM AUs became more biology-flavored, and where we get certain Omegaverse tropes like “omega drop.”

if it wasn’t obvious, i’ve done a lot of looking into this, and i hope to do more soon and eventually put all that info to good use in some form of project—not sure what yet. i’m also not at allll biased between Xanthe and Helenish…..genuinely, Xanthe did a good thing and wrote a LOT of influential fic, we’re just…very different writers.

but ANYWAY, yeah, definitely not my idea, i’m building on the backs of thousands of writers before me. and it’s awesome.

i DO have a fic rec list somewhere on this blog, but i’m actually in the process of updating it! the goal is to get around 40-50 fics on there and i’m pretty close, so keep an eye out (it’s just taking a long time because i have to read fics to know if they’re good enough to rec….and then i just read fanfic for 6 hours….and then i reread some of them because they’re just really good….)

not sure what you mean by the third question—i don’t currently have any plans to write an AU outside of FLFverse, like a different fandom or plot or anything. i’ve thrown around the idea of what i affectionately call the SLSverse (that’s “seems like soaring,” get it, synonyms?), which would be what-ifs or AUs of the AU, but not its own thing.

within FLFverse, yes, i plan to write more fic XD. 2024 has been the roughest for my writing since probably 2019, which really sucks, but what can ya do. in truth, when i started writing Free Falling and Cross the Line and all those in fall 2023, i was hours from home/friends, unemployed, borderline flunking college, and like, big depressed—i had a ton of free time! and FLFverse was approximately the only thing i cared about. now i’m home again and have a job and am doing More Okay at school (academia and i are not friends), and i have other big fun projects to split my time between. i’m pretty determined to at least finish FF, even if it takes me another 10 years, and along the way i’ll write whatever oneshots strike my fancy.

wiatt nicholson head canons plz

ok. Wiatt is very similar to Damien to me. In the sense of oh boy, I hate writing this character so much. It's a quartet of Damien, Norman, lewis and Wiatt. Hate all of them/j they each have their ups and downs. Mainly downs but like- Lewis is by far the easiest of the group but still so far behind the others in terms of effort to write. Especially when paired with Wiatt. TGE ONLY TIME IVE EVER WRITTEN WIGHLIGHT AND WAS SATISFIED WITH IT WAS THAT ONE LIKE 10 LINE SCENE IN FEBRUARY 4TH WHERE THEY APOLOGIZE TO EACH OTHER. IT IS MY GREATEST FLAW. I CANT WRITE WILIGHT AND IT HAUNTS ME-

but this isn't about them! Just Wiatt! So let's get started on it!

To learn from the tragedies: he's do stressed. Let's this guy be. He just wants to help his boyfriend but also doesn't have a clue what's going on. He thinks he knows everything. He doesnt. At all. He's sort of the main focus of book one but is a lot more background in book 2, which focuses more on Sara. Both of them are technically going through the same thing but because Sara was the villain is treated a lot differently. I sometimes think about what would have happened if lewis hadn't explained things to Waitt. And instead he and Sara teamed up to get answers and everything would have been fine. But no, lewis is far too dramatic for that.

Shattered dreams: he dies. womp womp. Does become Guide! (Gaslight. Useless. Idiot. Dead. Employee) But I think I'll talk about him more in the Oc au because I think despite it being nearly the same situation he's more interesting there.

One shots/you'll live until I die: I thinkkkkk her appears like once in yluid and it's like- the least relevant scene in the fic i was just trying to even out the perspectives. But in that and other one shots he's sort of just a mechanic. Almost never more apparent than that. Try to keep it close to cannon, he likes helping people but tends to mess it up a lot but never enough to be fully blamed for it.

I will make them create my world: don't. Don't talk me. I- I'll figure it out! (Has over 10k of scrapped shit THAT US JUST HIM. The reason there hasn't been a new chapter since February is Because of that man and how hard he is to write and plan)

Buried masks: I think I've made a few post on him but he stays outside the basement because Sara doesn't like him. He helps Damien with his investigation and is highly suspicious of Sara. Eventually he does get more involved for a big event! But that is major spoilers :3

Swap au/skating in silence: he plays Norman here! Which I find very interesting. Not interesting enough to have concrete ideas for it but enough that if given the chance i could see myself exploring. Wiatts like main thing is he feels worth through helping others. And by directly helping Lewis he'd really enjoy the job. If lewis was different from Sara and still have him praise and carted about him it would honestly create a more toxic relationship than canon because Wiatt would be left clinging for Lewis's validation and willing to go very, very far for it.

Superhero au: he's chill. Doesn't have any powers. Is a reporter and a hero stan. Untilllll things start happening and lewis is sobbing in his apartment because he's having to deal with some very traumatized kids, and half their trauma may have accidentally been his fault and he knows the heros are all a massive lie and starts giving wiatt info about some of the more horrible things the organization has done and wiatt starts a character arc of now speaking against the hero system and trying to in mask it for what it is! Mostly he just appears in the background, he's sort of the symbol of the general public, being powerless and living a mostly normal life.

Steven universe au: he lives in his car as a photographer. He enjoys life and specifically lifes mysteries and the unnatural. He fines this fenced of beach that has been rumered to be haunted after a man died mysteriously several years ago. Wiatt never followed the rules and climbs over because the view from that clean of a beach must be stunning!

And bam! Rock Aliens. They all scare each other but wiatt has a camera and the aliens don't know what that is and they think it's a weapon. They explain they didn't mean to bother and humans and Wiatts like oh wait their really sweet. And he's friends with them now!!! He gives everyone their more human names and let's them experience life. So far he's the only human that doesn't get experimented on so that's good for him. He is a little overwhelmed by dating a space dictator that fake killed himself but it's ok, he'll figure it out.

Maze au: he's human. Don't know how he got in the maze. I can imagine him playing a role similar to Kyle in the sense of like, he's here to help and try his best not to get into anything but is not going to sit around. He's probably a runner. Not a very good one. Maybe he stays in the back and makes maps. He and Oliver team up to make most of the clearings.... Everything. They make weapons and tools and supplies and help build housing and food they are the progressives. They make sure the clearing is constantly improving.

Oc au: he dies! Not to litho though cause we accidentally took him out. Instead he dies to jot! In a....messy scene. Both because there was a lot of blood and two it was written late at night and neither of us really knew where we wanted it to go only that wiatt needed to be dead by the end of it. So mans got straight up beat. Joy crushed this dude with her bare hands. The virus actually took out two....well killed two people by technicality it knock loli out for a good while but she's fine now! Yeah, we made it slightly more deadly just for fun. And now Wiatt is a tour guide with amnesia! He loves the company and works mostly in the lobby with Dot. Star also had his memories erased in this au.

Instead the whole what about love speech, was joy about carly. Which Winnie being already connected to Carly made it a lot easier and so roller gays are doing fantastic and wighlight is struggling.

We have yet for star and guide to interact but I'm looking for to when they do!

that should be ittttttt. He plays a background character in most of the aus. So not a ton to say.
