and I feel like my castle's crumbling down. and I watch all my bridges burn to the ground // my castle crumbled overnight. I brought a knife to a gunfight, they took the crown // once, I had an empire in a golden age. I was held up so high, I used to be great. they used to cheer when they saw my face now, I fear I have fallen from grace // and I fell from the pedestal // pulled the car off the road to the lookout could've followed my fears all the way down
their faith was strong, but I pushed it too far // what's a lifetime of achievement if I pushed you to the edge but you were too polite to leave me? // I bent the truth too far tonight I was dancing around, dancing around it // you know there's many different ways that you can kill the one you love. the slowest way is never loving them enough // how long will it be cute, all this cryin' in my room? when you can't blame it on my youth and roll your eyes with affection. and my cheeks are growing tired from turning red and faking smiles. are we only biding time 'til I lose your attention? // will you forgive my soul when you're too wise to trust me and too old to care? // Lord, what will become of me once I’ve lost my novelty? // and I wake up in the middle of the night. it's like I can feel time moving // I wake up screaming from dreaming one day, I'll watch as you're leaving ‘cause you got tired of my scheming for the last time // I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost. the room is on fire, invisible smoke. and all of my heroes die all alone. help me hold on to you
I've been having a hard time adjusting. I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting. I didn't know if you'd care if I came back // ones I loved tried to help, so I ran them off. and here I sit alone behind walls of regret falling down like promises that I never kept // all of the people I've ghosted stand there in the room
people look at me like I'm a monster. now they're screamin' at the palace front gates. used to chant my name. now they're screaming that they hate me // and I'm a monster on the hill. too big to hang out, slowly lurching toward your favorite city, pierced through the heart, but never killed
and it's hard to be at a party when I feel like an open wound // wound open, game token // no one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire // I should not be left to my own devices, they come with prices and vices. I end up in crisis, tale as old as time
can you see right through me? they see right through, they see right through me. I see right through me // no one wanted to play with me as a little kid, so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since to make them love me and make it seem effortless // and I'm still a believer, but I don't know why. I've never been a natural, all I do is try, try, try. I'm still on that trapeze. I'm still trying everything to keep you looking at me
and you don't want to know me, I will just let you down // you wouldn't take my word for it if you knew who was talking // who could ever leave me, darling but who could stay? // it must be exhausting always rooting for the anti-hero
the question pounds my head // and I know it's sad, but this is what I think about
castles crumbling 🤝 nothing new 🤝 the archer 🤝 dear reader 🤝 mirrorball 🤝 anti-hero 🤝 coney island 🤝 you're on your own kid 🤝 this is me trying

"There you are."
Your soapy, wet hands almost dropped the ceramic plate you were currently washing in the dirty kitchen sink as soon as you heard a familiar smooth and honeyed voice. Abruptly turning off the sink so that the sound of his approaching footsteps were clear to your ears, you wiped the sweat off your forehead with the back of your hand before turning your body towards him.
He was carrying a stack of plates, a fresh batch to add to the pile you had to wash, with an obnoxious yet handsome smile plastered on his lips. You took a deep breath to calm the growing irritation at the bottom of your stomach, reminding yourself that this was your job and you only had a couple of hours to endure until you're free to lock yourself up in your bedroom. You were particularly looking forward to writing today, and the thought of finishing the lyrics to your new song tonight slightly eased your mood. Accepting your fate, you pointed to the remaining space beside the sink.
"Place it there." You told him, albeit begrudgingly as you turn on the sink again and pour more soap on the battered sponge.
You took a mental note to ask Zeff later about buying new sponges, and if you were lucky to catch him in a good mood, you'll put in a request to get the sink fixed and cleaned. Your eyes scanned over the grime and rust around the area. If you were going to spend the rest of your life washing dishes, then you might as well get a proper kitchen sink to do so.
An amused laugh fell out of the golden haired man you grew up with, surprised at your compliance to do the job you hated. The sound nearly sent your poor heart into a dizzying whirlwind of little nuisances called emotions. "What a hardworking woman."
"I could say the same to you. It seems like you have a new record today." You said while you splashed dirtied bowls with soap water, smiling at him teasingly, "Thought you would've been kicked out of the line by now."
"The old man just can't help but to accept the fact that I am a greater cook than him." He smirked, wiping a knife with a dish cloth. Trying not to roll your eyes, you shook your head at his usual display of arrogance, yet you can't help but to grin as you began to hear scratching sounds against the floors.
"Then you better get those chopped carrots ready." You replied, and when you got to finish your sentence, the doors to the kitchen swung open, revealing the head chef.
Zeff's cold and steely eyes immediately landed on the blond. He walked towards him with a fast pace despite only having one leg, his braided mustache bouncing in each step.
"Aye, aye, aye. Why haven't you started on the carrots yet, little eggplant? Can you get any slower?" He scolded, loud enough for the whole staff to hear, but none of them even flinched. You returned back to your plates and glasses, smiling softly. This was part of your routine everyday: to listen in their silly arguments.
However, before the younger chef can reply, you butted in, "Sanji fetched some of the plates for me. Since there's a lunch rush, I couldn't leave the kitchen."
Zeff let out a low hum. You couldn't even see Sanji's face, but you knew him well enough to know that he was smiling triumphantly, knowing that he won this time. After a few minutes of contemplating, the head chef clicked his tongue. "Don't defend him, little lass. But I'll let it slip this time. What are you waiting for, then? Start cutting them!"
"Yes, chef." Sanji answered in a jovial manner, placing the carrots on a chopping board.
Twisting the faucet lever so that the water flow from the sink is gentle and quiet, you then paid attention to their little banters every now and then. You brought up a wine glass and positioned it by your side to try to get a glimpse of the two most important men in your life. Through their reflection on the glass, you can see Zeff hunching over Sanji's knifework, nodding every time the vegetables were correctly sliced.
On the other hand, Sanji was unbothered by the head chef's observations and continued to cut the ingredients calmly. Some of the strands in his hair fell down on one side of his face, covering an eye, and most people would think that it was an unusual way of styling hair; yet it was one thing out of many that you loved the most about him.
You accepted it years ago.
You accepted the fact that you somehow fell in love with Sanji Vinsmoke along your weird journey of working in a sea restaurant full of former pirates and making music while at it. How the pesky feelings grew and wrapped themselves around your aching heart, you didn't know. Maybe it was when he learned to cook your favorite food and gave it to you afterwards, or the way his crystal blue eyes reminded you of snowflakes every winter.
Or maybe it was when he pulled your hair out of jealousy the moment he learned that Zeff would be taking in another child in his care, but brushed it and even braided it after the latter cleared the misunderstanding. Maybe it was when he supported you in your dreams and told you they weren't silly, maybe it was when he fought off drunk men that were trying to hit on you. Or maybe it was the way his voice would drop an octave lower whenever he asks you for a favor. The list could go on and on and you still wouldn't know the reason why. It doesn't matter anyway. You tripped, you fell, and now you're pining.
Drying off the last of the plates, you washed your own hands after and patted them dry on your skirt. You were the last one to leave the kitchen, the other staff already back in their quarters after a long, exhausting day of cooking. You fixed the signature blue bandana tied in your hair then went on your way towards the upper deck.
You weren't blessed with a talent in cooking, so you offered to do chores instead. Washing the dishes, cleaning the restaurant, and doing the laundry were few of the things you do in the Baratie. You can't say that you enjoy it, but you were beyond grateful that Zeff gave you a chance despite his opposition to let a woman work inside his restaurant.
As you were about to go to the newly laundered clothes you hung on a thin wire earlier that morning, you heard two voices speaking. You also smelled cigarette smoke wafting through the air, and you only knew one person who could be smoking at this hour. Your breath hitched in anticipation.
"You bringing a woman to your bed again, Sanji?" The other person asked playfully, but there was a hint of disbelief in his voice. You carefully took a peek so you won't accidentally reveal yourself and be accused of eavesdropping. Two people came into view with their backs facing you.
"Now, what are you talking about, Patty? I am a gentleman. I only had a nice chat with the lovely lady and escorted her back to her ship." Sanji interjected, a cigarette hanging on his lips.
Patty huffed. "I didn't know that chatting included kiss marks on jawlines."
This caused Sanji to laugh and say, "Not my fault she was charmed by my food."
"The boss man ain't gonna like it when he finds out about this."
"He's not gonna find out." Sanji assured him, wiping off the said kiss mark on his jaw. You stared at him as he did so, and you pitied the woman who planted that kiss, knowing she was just one of the many beautiful ladies Sanji had flirted with before. However, a tinge of pain in your chest said otherwise, taunting you that it was not pity you're feeling, but foul jealousy.
"Why don't you look for more decent women, eh? How about 'little lass' for a change?" Patty suddenly suggested.
It was like someone had hit your stomach with one of the metal pans in the kitchen with the way it lurched in surprise and nervousness. Your heartbeat started to quicken the longer you waited for his response, making your grip on your skirt tighter. In moments like these, you allowed yourself to hope, to wish that he saw something in you and that he finds you beautiful and lovely enough to be the person standing by his side.
But his answer made all that hope crumble down into nothing but dust.
"I don't see her that way." Sanji said after a long stretch of silence, taking a long drag from the cigarette then releasing the smoke in a single breath.
Ah.
You blinked repeatedly, trying to keep the tears from forming. It's always been like this, so why can't you get used to it? Taking a deep breath, you gulped away the knot forming in your throat and decided to leave. You can grab the clothes later.
"You're too kind for him." Someone behind you spoke, making you jump and tense up. Turning around, you saw Zeff looking at you with an unreadable emotion in his eyes and his hands on his hips, almost like he knew your secret. Of course he does. He always sees everything.
You stumbled on your words. "Sir?"
"That boy is always up to something." He began, switching his attention to Sanji. "One minute he's stubbornly immature in the kitchen, and the next he'll be a thirsty man staring at women like they're liquid booze."
Clearing your throat, you forced a smile.
"Well, he can be a lot sometimes." You agreed, remembering the days when the two of you would fight over irrelevant matters. Then you chuckled and continued, "But he's kind. He's gentle, and lovely, like a freshly made poem you keep repeating in your head. But then he's also confusing, hot-headed, and reckless. He's like the sea, isn't he? Calm yet wrapped with mystery, dangerous yet beautiful..."
You trailed off, an unbearable heat rising up your cheeks and neck once you slowly began to realize that you just ranted out your feelings to the head chef. You glanced at him with wide eyes, preparing to see a disgusted look on his face; however, Zeff didn't appear to be repulsed by your little speech. In fact, the corners of his lips were slightly quirked up.
"But I cannot swim. If I were to drown, he wouldn't save me." You quickly added, hoping to shut down the topic.
He sighed. "You will meet someone who deserves you as much as you deserve them, little lass." He simply said. He then laid his hand out, and on his palm was a little box poorly tied with a ribbon. "Here, for you."
Altnough you were a bit confused at the random gift, you accepted it and cradled the box to your chest. "I'll be okay, Zeff." You insisted, grinning cheekily. "When I become famous, I'll sing my songs here in Baratie, and people would flood the restaurant to hear my singing. And to eat your food too, of course."
The head chef nodded, relief flooding his expression. "I look forward to that." He said while awkwardly returning your smile.
That night, when you were sure that everyone in the Baratie was asleep, you opened the loose floorboard on the floors of your bedroom and grabbed the wooden box you kept hidden for a long time now. You opened the lid and began counting the Berry you saved for the past few months.
Tomorrow was the perfect day to leave.
You just can't stay here. Yes, you had a roof over your head, delicious food to eat everyday, and clean clothes to wear but you were so miserable. This wasn't the life you wanted. You wish to go out there, sing your heart out, and fall in love with someone who actually loves you back.
A knock on your door made you freeze. You held your breath as the person on the other side continued to knock a few more times. "You awake?"
Pain surged through your veins, your chest twisting in agony. Sanji.
"You didn't come down for dinner. I guess you're too tired, hmm?" He said, his muffled voice gentle, and the sound almost prompted you to stand up and open the door for him. But you dug your fingernails in your palms and resisted, because you can't just let this opportunity pass by.
You heard a brief clinking sound before Sanji spoke again, "Sweet dreams, ange."
Once his footsteps faded away, you cautiously moved towards your door and opened it as quietly as you can. There, on the floor, was a small plate with a slice of your favorite desert: angel's food cake, topped with fresh cream and strawberries.
You bent down and saw a note beside the plate. And when you got to read the contents of the note, you burst into tears and sobs that wracked down your entire body.
Happy Birthday
— S.
You ate the cake with tears silently falling down your cheeks, and that was the first time you failed to leave Sanji Vinsmoke.

Today was the day, and you won't allow anyone to ruin it for you.
You had saved enough Berries to travel around the world and sustain yourself for the upcoming months. Your notebook containing the lyrics of the songs you wrote laid open on top of your bed as you spent all night revising them while planning out an itinerary. Then you'll find a place to settle in, a stable job that required doing what you loved the most, and overall just be peaceful and free from pirates and chefs and pirate chefs. It was perfect.
Folded clothes surrounded you everywhere, ready to be packed in your bags. Once you finished stuffing them all in, you grabbed your treasured instrument, the one thing you couldn't live without: your guitar, which has been with you since you were a little child. It was given by your mother and you've been attached to it ever since.
It has scratches all over its wooden surface, and the strings needed some fixing occassionally, but you wouldn't trade it for the greatest treasures in the world. You ran your fingers over it, suddenly feeling like it was lacking something. Seeing the paint chipping off at the corners, you figured that it needed a little color. You'll need lacquer, and paint if you managed to find some.
You set the guitar aside and left your bedroom to head downstairs to the kitchen. As you were about to push the doors open, a loud, angry shout made you stop in your tracks.
"I won't ever become a pathetic waiter for you!" Sanji's thunderous yells can be heard from outside. Your shoulders tensed up. It was a good thing that brunch was over and all the customers had left.
Zeff's own furious voice followed, "Leave then, for all I care! You can do anything you want, but don't you ever serve one of your shit dishes in my kitchen!"
A frown settled on your face. Their fights were a normal occurrence to you, but this one sounded more grave than usual. Crossing your arms, you stepped in closer to the entrance and hesitated whether you should go in or not. Before you could make a decision, Zeff beat you to it by pushing the doors open, rage emanating from his figure as he ignored and walked past you.
Without hesitation this time, you entered the kitchen, greeted by the sight of Sanji bowing over the counter, breathing heavily, his face covered with his hair. He didn't move an inch even as you approached him, the clacking of the heels in your boots echoing throughout the room.
Both of you were silent as you rummaged through cabinets, trying to find lacquer to cover your guitar with, while he tried his best to calm himself down after his outburst. Many cupboards later, you finally found a small can of used up lacquer, but as you started to reach for it, your hand completely stopped mid-air.
You looked over your shoulder, and found Sanji already recovered from the argument seeing that he was on the move again, preparing a cut of beef tenderloin and other ingredients he needed for tonight's dinner.
Slowly, you closed the cupboard and went closer to him. He still refused to look at you. And so you watched him place a bag of flour on the countertop, slices of cold butter, and a variety of spice bottles to season the meat with.
Sanji began to wrap twine around the beef tenderloin. You sighed, and before you could stop yourself, you grabbed a bowl and decided to help him. Your guitar can wait.
It was rare for you to cook inside the kitchen, having so little knowledge about food and how they were prepared, but you knew this recipe well. You poured two cups of flour through the sifter, followed by placing heaps of the cold butter in the mixture.
The moment you started to mix the dough for the puff pastry, Sanji quickly pointed out in a monotone voice, "You're adding too much butter."
You raised your head and glanced at him, his attention now on the meat he was searing on a skillet. You smiled, glad that he was speaking again.
"You're beginning to sound like the old man himself." You joked lightly.
His jaw clenched. "Don't compare me to that shitty geezer."
In a softer voice, you asked, "What happened?"
"The usual." He replied curtly. "Didn't approve of my dishes."
You perked up upon hearing about a dish he made himself. Sanji was talented when it comes to creating his own recipes, and sometimes, you would be the person he chooses to test them out. Every time he lets you taste them, your chest would feel warm and you wouldn't be able to sleep for days because you'll keep replaying it in your head. "What did you make this time?"
"It doesn't matter. He'll never agree to any of them."
"Maybe I can—"
"Drop it. Don't poke your nose in things you're not involved." Sanji cut you off, his hardened gaze meeting your concerned stare. You only blinked at him, straightening up.
"I see." You muttered, eyes landing on the bag of flour. You looked at him, then at the flour, then back at him. A smile began to form on your lips as a devious plan formulated itself in your brain. Sticking your hand inside the bag of flour, you took a fistful of the pillowy powder and threw it straight into his face.
Sanji jumped back, flinching and closing his eyes when some of the flour's particles managed to enter them. His jaw dropped open in surprise, hands quickly removing themselves from the skillet's handle to dust off the flour that rested on his now white hair. You tried to stifle a laugh as you watched him struggle getting the flour out.
Once he managed to clean himself, he stared straight at you and said in the calmest way possible, even if you knew deep inside that he was fuming, "What was that for?"
A high-pitched snort left your mouth. You covered it to prevent yourself from laughing.
You cleared your throat and smiled at him innocently. "Am I involved now?"
His piercing blue eyes then started to sparkle with mirth, amusement replacing the vexation previously swimming in them. He also looked to be trying to push down a smile, and that made your heart skip a beat. "You're insufferable."
He reached for the bag of flour. You squeaked and took off running, trying to escape from his attack, but he still managed to throw a small amount on you. Giggling, you ran the opposite direction to confuse him, and yet he caught up with you, throwing another round of flour. This time, it hit your cheeks, making you laugh loudly. He laughed along, pointing a finger at you because you probably looked crazy at the moment.
You tried to take the bag of flour away from him, but he just took it an as opportunity to catch your arm and grip it firmly. He pulled you into his chest, caging you completely.
With your cheeks warm and your breaths short, you tilted your head up and looked at him, noticing the way that you were both covered in flour; and not only that, you also noticed the short distance between your bodies and how your noses were almost touching. His pupils were dilated, black dominating the alluring blue shade that kept haunting your dreams. You drank in the attention he was giving you, the breathing coming out from his soft lips, and the comfortable silence that wrapped around the both of you like a safe little bubble.
"Caught you." Sanji muttered, voice deeper and huskier, making you let out a quiet sigh. His arms snaked around your waist as he leaned in closer. A million questions started to run inside your head, begging to know what this situation was and how you got into it. "Nowhere to run now, darling."
A slamming of doors shattered the secret moment you shared, and you immediately pulled away from each other. You pushed down your disappointment and hid it in the secret crevice in your heart as the two of you faced your intruder.
Zeff observed your flour-laden figures, his thick eyebrows scrunched together in irritation. He then demanded, voice seething and dripping with anger, "What in the hell are you two little brats doing?"
Sanji blurted out in defense, "Zeff, we—she was the one who started it!"
"And you went along with it!" You accused incredulously, grinning from ear-to-ear. Sanji grinned back, shaking his head and biting his lower lip.
"Oh, shut up before I stitch your mouths! Just by looking at you two, I already know that you snot-nosed shits are both at fault!" Zeff shouted, clicking his tongue at the sight of the half emptied flour. "Wasted them good flour for your childish fights. You're even worse than fatwits. Get out and clean the toilets!"
"Not the shitty toilets!" Sanji groaned, and you couldn't blame him for it. The bathroom area smelled revolting and the floors were always wet for some reason.
"I don't wanna hear complaints from you when you've dirtied my kitchen! Off you go!" Zeff dismissed, and you can't help but to laugh again when you saw Sanji pout like a little kid.
The head chef watched the two of you leave the kitchen together while giggling and exchanging fond looks. Patty, who also saw the whole situation unfold, suddenly appeared beside him, snickering, "I can already hear the wedding bells ringing."
Zeff took a deep, tired breath.
"Oh, they're ringing alright."
You cleaned and scrubbed the toilets the entire afternoon with the man you're in love with, flushing your plans down the drain and forgetting all about them, and that was the second time you failed to leave Sanji Vinsmoke.
⸻ • ⸻
You didn't know how you ended up in a ship full of pirates.
Well, maybe you knew. A little. But it wasn't supposed to be like this.
Your knuckles were beginning to turn white with how tight you were clenching them. A mix of emotions swirled around in your chest, namely confusion, impatience, and hesitation, pondering about whether you should be irritated at yourself or at Sanji.
The opportunity was there, handed to you like a steak on a golden platter, or a miracle that suddenly fell from the sky. The day you met Luffy and his strange pirate crew was the day you immediately realized that he was the key to your exit from the Baratie. He was friendly; a good pirate, according to his own words, so you figured he would allow you to tag along for a while until you find an island to get off to. You just had to ask for his permission and wait for his reply.
Luffy agreed. And you were ecstatic. You were finally going to leave Sanji Vinsmoke and your pathetic, unrequited feelings behind.
Or so you thought.
You watched in horror as he followed you when you boarded the Going Merry, also carrying a bag of his own. He said something along the lines of Luffy needing a cook for the journey to the Grand Line but you couldn't care less. You got here first. Why was he here?
So here you were, sitting in a corner, lonelier than ever and regretting your life decisions. You watched Luffy and his friends celebrate after defeating the pirate Arlong and saving Coco Village from his inhuman hold over its people, but Sanji and the beautiful orange haired Nami were nowhere in sight.
The thought of them being gone together at the same time left a bitter aftertaste on your tongue.
Nami. The first time you laid eyes on her, ethereal was the word that came up to your mind. With soft deep saffron locks that framed her small face and a wide blue eyed gaze, she would have the cruelest of men begging for mercy and affection at her feet.
Unfortunately, Sanji was one of those men.
Fuck, you cursed mentally, rubbing your face with your hands to try and forget about the times he flirted with her and the moments he wouldn't stop talking about her or kept asking about her favorite food or dessert or if she's into blonds. Your already battered heart doesn't need the usual reminder that he'll never see you that way, that you weren't going to experience his sweet words and his loving gazes.
You took a sharp breath. It's okay, you tell yourself over and over again until they were buried in your heart. They'll make a great pair, Sanji the cook and Nami the thief. A strong man with an equally strong woman. Yes. That makes sense.
You'll leave soon anyway, and you'll no longer have to worry about seeing them or how they were going to end up together.
And yet you can't help but to think about the things that could've been if you were the one he was in love with instead.
You were crossing your arms and hugging yourself as the crisp afternoon air was getting chilly when a hand gripping a shot glass filled with amber liquid appeared in front of you. Looking up, you saw Luffy smiling widely at you, waving the glass encouragingly.
"Come on, just one drink! Usopp poured this for you!" The captain exclaimed heartily, obviously trying to uplift your spirits and to make you feel welcomed in his crew, even though you did nothing but to guard the Going Merry while they were fighting for their lives.
You shook your head and smiled politely. "No, I don't drink. Sorry."
Luffy's smile faltered, but he recovered quickly. He nodded, setting the glass down on top of a barrel. "Well, okay." He said, then turned to Usopp, who was currently downing a whole bottle of whiskey. "Hey, where's Nami?"
"Oh, she's with the cook," Usopp replied cheekily, wiping his mouth after drinking. There was a teasing tone in his voice as he continued, "Someone's getting a boyfriend tonight!"
With that said, you reached for the shot glass that Luffy was offering you earlier, grabbed it swiftly, and poured the whole thing down your throat. The whiskey tasted unfamiliar, and it burned and made you dizzy at first taste, but it doesn't matter; as long as it can make you forget just for a little while, you were willing to drink more of the horrible beverage.
Zoro, the green haired swordsman and the captain's first mate, stared at you as if you had lost your mind, but a tinge of concern was visibly written on his face. "Woah, slow down." He warned sternly.
"I thought you didn't drink." Was all Luffy said, blinking in confusion. You chuckled tiredly.
"Now I do."
Drink after drink, glass after glass. You lost count on how many times Usopp poured whiskey for you, or how many times Zoro shook his head in disbelief. Luffy was the same old happy-go-lucky captain throughout the disaster that was starting to brew inside you, turning your brain into mush. You can barely lift your head or your fingers as you asked for another shot in an incoherent voice. Luckily, Usopp was still able to understand you, tipping the whiskey bottle yet again towards your glass.
You started to raise the glass to your lips, eager to just get severely drunk and be over with it already. However, you suddenly felt strong fingers wrap around your wrist to stop you from drinking; and when you caught sight of a familiar silver ring with Baratie's jolly roger inlaid upon it, you didn't need to look up to know who it was.
Sanji's voice was unnervingly calm as he questioned the crew, but the slight shake in his words lets you know otherwise. "Which one of you allowed her to drink?"
"No one. She took the glass and made the decision herself." Zoro drawled, challenging the chef, "The last time I checked, waiter, you were supposed to be the one responsible for her."
Sanji ignored him and turned his attention to you. He stole the shot glass away from you, then kneeled and held your hands comfortingly, smiling. "Come on, ange. It's time for you to rest now." He said quietly, yet loud enough for only you to hear.
You stubbornly shook your head repeatedly and whined loudly. "No! Don't touch me!" You cried, prying your hands away from his, "I don't like you...!"
Zoro huffed in amusement at your declaration. Sanji glared at him for a short second before looking at you again. This time, he stood and gently placed his arms under your shoulders to raise you up. Once you were standing on your feet, he swept you up and carried you bridal style with ease. Another whine escaped your lips.
"Put me down! I want another drink, please, just one more!" You pleaded while throwing weak punches on his chest. Sanji only smiled and began to lead you towards the sleeping quarters. You continued to thrash in his arms as he walked slowly and in small steps so he wouldn't drop you.
Sanji carefully set you down on your hammock. "No drinks for you until you actually learn how to take them." He told you, tucking a stray piece of your hair behind your ear. His thumb caressed the soft skin of your cheek and rubbed it in circles, noting how fast you were heating up due to the alcohol. You pouted.
"Pretty please, Sanji...please..."
He chuckled, staring at you intensely. "Maybe some other time, ange."
You went quiet, staring back at him with half-lidded eyes. Then, you crossed your arms like a child and asked, "Why do you keep calling me that?"
Sanji raised a brow. "Call you what? Ange?"
You nodded. "I don't like it."
He began to smile, the dimples on his cheeks appearing. You briefly wondered if he'd allow you to poke and feel them. "Why?"
"I don't know what it means. Is it an insult?" You wondered aloud, your eyes widening in curiosity.
A hearty and warm laugh came out from Sanji, his eyes forming half-moons as he cackled at your words like they were the biggest joke he heard in his entire life, "Oh, my dear girl, how could I possibly insult you?" He managed to speak between laughs, "It means angel. You're an angel, to me at least. My angel."
Oh.
Your lips parted in surprise. Blinking, you simply said, "You're not Sanji."
He's not Sanji. He wouldn't call you angel; you're not even sure if he found you beautiful or attractive. You wear the same old tattered dresses that Zeff bought for you a long time ago, and you didn't even bother to style your hair or put on face powder like all the other beautiful ladies do. You look nowhere near to an angel.
But Sanji only grinned. "I assure you, I am very much Sanji. The little brat who pulled your hair when we were barely eleven years old."
Your breath hitched at the thought of him remembering one of your fond memories in your childhood. "You remembered."
"Of course I remembered." He whispered, cupping your cheek one last time before he got ready to leave. He turned on his heel and was about to walk away when you spoke.
"Are you going to see her again?" You asked, and he quickly noticed how broken your voice sounded. Sanji faced you in concern and was taken aback with how deep you were frowning. He figured that you were just drunk and women tend to be different when they were intoxicated. You were no exception to that, it seemed.
"Hm?" He hummed, prompting you to elaborate further.
Tears began to form in the corners of your eyes. You shakily mumbled, "Nami...you're going to Nami, aren't you?"
Sanji froze, an icy cold rush filling up his body. A knot formed in his throat, and it continued to tighten the longer he stared at your face. You looked so hurt—like he just destroyed your beloved guitar into pieces. Your lower lips were trembling, your eyes glistening with unshed tears. For a moment, he couldn't find the courage to answer you, feeling like he could die at any second now if he answers your question.
But the answer was simple.
"Yes." He breathed out, a sharp pain stabbing through his heart.
And it only became worse when a teardrop finally rolled down your cheek. "Why?" You rasped, and Sanji didn't know that a single word can hurt this much.
He tried to give you a reassuring smile but awfully failed to do so. He started to explain, "We were just discussing something—"
"Why not me?"
Those three words coming out of your mouth felt like a final blow to his heart. He can feel himself bleed, drained of life and soul because of you and your words alone, and he let you. He let you kill him, he let you make him swim in his own guilt and he doesn't why, why, why.
More tears fell out of your angelic eyes, staining your cheeks with wet trails, and he tried to hold himself back from wiping them off. You choked out, "Why not me, Sanji? I have been asking myself that question for the past decade, and it eats my brain every night like some kind of plague, but I let it anyway. Because why? Why can't you just recognize me and appreciate me and see me? Why can't you go to me if you want to talk about your dreams, or what dish you're planning to create? Why do you have to seek solace in other women when you have me standing by your side everyday, me who is willing to listen to you and whatever you have to say?"
Angry, red rimmed eyes glared at him. Your hair strands stuck to your skin and framed your face as sweat began to form on your forehead. Teardrops clung to your wet eyelashes and your face was drenched like you just took a swim in the ocean. You were burning with fury and rage and want, struggling to breathe properly after your little rant, and Sanji thought you couldn't be more beautiful. You were so beautiful.
"Oh but I couldn't blame you for that. She's just so beautiful, so perfect, and so strong. She could give you anything you wanted and she could be anything that I never was." You hiccuped, smiling forcibly, "But in the end...I will still love you. I will always love you. I think."
You scooted closer to him, leaning in until your faces only had a few inches apart between them. You didn't notice how his lips were slightly parted in shock, nor his eyes that were starting to glisten with his own tears. "No matter where I flee to, or where I lay my heart on, or which skies I look at—it's always you, Sanji. It's always been you."
"I had been so selfless all these years, Sanji. So please, can you pretend to like me too, just for today, before I leave?" You whispered meekly, cupping his cheeks with both of your hands. Numb and completely speechless, Sanji simply gave you a single nod as a response.
You gingerly pressed your lips against his, and he immediately tasted the saltiness of your tears. But your lips were soft, as he expected from an angel like you. And so he couldn't help himself; he closed his eyes and delicately kissed you back, repeating your name in his mind like a sacred prayer and wishing to the stars above to not let the moment end.
However, you broke the kiss by losing consciousness and falling down on your hammock, knocked out and peacefully snoring.
Sanji spaced out, not moving from his position. No. It's not that he didn't want to move—he couldn't move. He couldn't feel anything except for the drumming of his heart, knocking on his chest desperately. His lips were still tingling and his ears and neck were warming up.
He gulped, loosening the collar of his shirt to cool himself down. He needed a cigarette. And a drink.
Scrambling to get up even with his trembling legs, Sanji managed to stand properly. He avoided your sleeping figure and decided to get out of the room as soon as possible. However, when he took a step forward, his foot touched a notebook lying on the floor.
Sanji bent down and took the notebook. He flipped it open, and after reading only the first page, he finally came into a conclusion.
Heartbroken, drunk, and unaware, you dozed off the rest of the afternoon. When nightfall settled on the azure horizon and dusk fell on the rough surface of the sea, you missed the chance to walk away from the crew yet again; and that was the third time you failed to leave Sanji Vinsmoke.
⸻ • ⸻
The next morning, you woke up feeling much better with only the memory of you drinking and crying yourself to sleep and nothing else. Everything was normal, and the crew began to make plans for their next adventure during breakfast.
Everything was normal, except for Sanji, who was quiet throughout the whole discussion. And of course, just like always, you were the only one who noticed his strange behavior. You tried to catch his eyes, but he looked at everywhere except you.
When he finally met your gaze, you gave him a soft smile, hoping he would smile back and everything was fine and you were just overthinking it.
He doesn't.
⸻ • ⸻
"Are you really going to leave?"
Taking your gaze away from the heart shaped cloud you spotted on the clear blue sky, you faced the person who asked the question you were dreading for some time now. Luffy was staring curiously at you, awaiting your answer. You can't help but to smile softly at the captain, whose kindness you have yet to repay.
"I believe we already talked about this, captain." You said, recalling your short conversation last night. He kept asking you if you were really sure about your decision while his eyes darted to a certain blond haired chef every time he shoots you the question. It was strange, and you felt even more suspicious when Sanji pretended not to hear your answer and even refused to glance your way.
Luffy put his hands on his hips. "You know, you're welcome to stay and be a part of my crew."
You crossed your arms, smile growing wide. "And what, pray tell, is my role? Sing battle songs and chant your names while you swing your gummy arms at pirates?" You joked playfully.
The young captain stroked his chin in deep thought, almost like he was considering your suggestion. "That's not a bad idea."
You bursted out laughing, shaking your head in disbelief, "I'll leave first thing in the morning. I told Nami to dock at a nearby island."
"What about Sanji?" He suddenly questioned, leaving you flabbergasted for a split second. You weren't prepared to hear Sanji's name after days of not talking to him properly.
Him not speaking with you wasn't a strange occurence at all; back when you were still in the Baratie, there would be days when Sanji wouldn't bother to acknowledge your presence and would completely ignore you. This would happen whenever he was extremely busy with his cooking or he had a disagreement with Zeff.
And it seemed like this was one of those days, seeing that he had been ignoring you for about a week now. Yes, you have been keeping count. Although he doesn't appear to be angry with you, the short-lived exchanges and the abrupt cut-offs before you could say anything deeply concerned you more than it should have.
You tried to rack your brains for reasons on why he was acting like this. Maybe Nami had rejected him for the hundredth time, or Zoro kept throwing insults in his direction—or maybe his cigarette packet had ran out. Maybe his kitchen knives weren't sharp anymore and he was struggling in the kitchen.
Should you ask him? Should you go to him and demand him to tell you what's wrong?
You pressed your lips together. It sounded like the worst idea you've thought of so far. You convinced yourself that Sanji was fine and he'd be back to normal in no time; there would no need to talk to him.
"What about him?" You faltered, chuckling to ease the tension in your body.
"You care for each other." Luffy explained bluntly and matter-of-factly, "What does he think about you leaving?"
A shaky sigh made its way out of your lips. How will you tell the captain that his cook has been avoiding you like you were some kind of rotten fish these days?
"I..." You stammered, gathering the courage to lie to Luffy even if you thought it would be the gravest sin you could commit, "He...agrees. Yeah. No need to worry."
Luffy grinned, but it didn't look normal at all. You winced in embarrassment. He knew that you were lying and was totally unconvinced.
Luckily, he didn't voice it out. He only nodded and said, "Great! Oh, I have an idea! Why don't you sing for us before we part ways? Think of it as a farewell party for the crew."
Hearing the pure and genuine excitement dripping from his voice, you couldn't turn him down. It was a good idea too, and now that you thought about it, you haven't performed for them yet. "Sure." You agreed, shrugging.
He raised his fist up in the air and cheered. You smiled, watching as he shouted for his crewmates' names to come down and listen to you sing. You prepared yourself for an impromptu performance, making sure that your guitar was properly tuned and your voice was clear enough to give you the best version of your singing. Sitting on top of a barrel, you faced your audience of four, all their eager eyes watching your every move.
As you struck the first chord to your song, you tried hard not to think that Sanji wasn't there to watch you sing the song you secretly dedicate to him.
In the kitchen, Sanji busied himself by plating the food that he'll serve to his fellow crew mates for dinner. He grabbed a large plate and placed the chicken drumsticks that his captain favored, but Luffy wasn't the one in his mind when he cooked those. Looking at the food, he wondered if you would love them too.
He shook his thoughts off and took the plate with him outside. Approaching the crew, his steps slowed down when he heard a familiar singing voice and a melodic tune of a guitar.
Sanji almost dropped the plate.
It was you. Of course it was you, you were the only one he knew who had a voice like that. It was you, and you were singing with a lovely smile painted on your sweet lips, the very same lips that touched his a few days ago, resulting in him not getting a wink of sleep every night. The beam of the sunset right behind you colored your hair in the different shades of the sky as the dulcet-filled notes you made echoed throughout the vast sea. For a moment, he was worried that you were going to attract ferocious sea beasts with your angelic voice and steal you away from him.
He could hear his blood pound in his ears the longer he observed you from afar. You looked happy. Happier than you were when you stayed with him and Zeff. His chest tightened, knowing that you leaving and go on adventures on your own was probably the best decision you could make, even if that means leaving him too.
You were finishing up your song by the time you saw Sanji standing behind Usopp, silently listening. He met your gaze, and for the first time ever, you couldn't read his mind. His expression was blank as you stared at each other, and as you opened your mouth to say something, he cut you off.
"Dinner's ready." Sanji announced shortly, setting down the plate in front of Luffy and then walked away without saying another word.
That was your final straw. You immediately put down your guitar and followed him into the kitchen. You didn't care about how you felt Nami's watchful eyes on you as you went after him, nor how Luffy was scarfing down the dinner and was definitely going to finish it all before you could take a bite; you just chased the blond with determination oozing out of you.
You roughly pushed the door open and found Sanji washing the pans he used for cooking. He glanced at you briefly then quickly looked away after. This irritated you even more as you demanded, "Is there something bothering you?"
"You should eat before the food gets cold." He said with an empty voice.
"Sanji!"
He stiffened. You rarely raised your voice at anyone. Sighing in defeat, he dried off his hands and fully faced you.
Your eyes were sharper than his knives, cutting straight into his soul. "I've known you for a long time now, do you think I don't notice whenever you have a problem?" You glowered, taking a step closer to him, "You have a problem. What is it?"
It happened fast. His hand landed on the small of your back and pulled you to his chest, and the other was placed on top of your cheek, and in a single motion, Sanji captured your lips with his. You gasped in the kiss, your heart dropping to the soles of your feet when he tilted his face to deepen it. Your fingers tightly grasped the sleeves of his shirt for support as he passionately moved his lips against yours. A pleasant heat ran down your spine, your whole body tingling and warming up. You were simply drowning. There was no other way to describe it, and it was only caused by his fervent kisses.
Sanji pulled away, resting your forehead on top of yours, and you took it as an opportunity to breathe in air that you lost. "You are the problem." He murmured lowly, eyes darting down to your swollen lips. Confused and lightheaded, you didn't get the chance to retort.
"Ever since that night, ange, you occupy my thoughts. You gave me a taste of your lips and you didn't even remember the next day. Do you know how that feels, hm?" He said, pecking your lips once again. You made a noise in the back of your throat, turning your head sideways so he couldn't kiss you anymore, but he took your chin and hungrily connected both of your lips.
He spoke between kisses, "You torture me. Ever since I read those songs you wrote about me in that little notebook of yours, you torture me with your presence."
That was when you snapped out of your daze. With all the force you could muster, you placed your hands on his chest and pushed him away. Sanji stepped back, surprised at your reaction.
Without giving him a chance to ask you anything, you ran off and left the kitchen, slamming the door loudly so you wouldn't hear him calling your name and be tempted to go back in his arms again.
You arrived in the sleeping quarters, locking the door behind you. You were sure that the others would understand you needing your alone time. Once you made sure you were on your own, your body collapsed altogether, your back sliding down against the door as you panted heavily.
He knows, was all you could think about. He knows about the songs. He knows about your feelings.
Well, you finally got your answer to your previous question, but a more complicated one replaced it. With trembling hands, your fingers raised themselves to your lips, touching its surface. You hated the way that you still felt his warmth on top of them.
A lone tear slid down the side of your nose. He was cruel. Sanji was cruel.
You didn't come out of that room for days, refusing to talk to anyone as you gathered your scrambled throughts and pulled yourself back together, and that was the fourth time you failed to leave Sanji Vinsmoke.
⸻ • ⸻
A stack of books, most of them being a collection of maps compiled in one, rested beside you while you flipped through the pages of the one you chose among them.
Nami has been lending you her books ever since you shut yourself out from the crew. You ignored all of them and only let Nami in, hoping that she'll be able to understand you; and she did. She was a good listener. Although you weren't particularly close with each other, you trusted her and told her everything: your dreams, your problems, your feelings, and Sanji. In return, she confided in you too.
"Here. So you can finally decide on where you will go to," You recall her saying while she handed you her collection of world map books, "and to distract yourself, of course."
"You're too kind, Nami." You said in admiration. Maybe this is why Sanji was enamored with her. She was a beauty inside and out.
Nami shrugged, yet she was smiling. "Just helping a fellow woman out."
The books did take your mind off the stubborn blond haired man that was still resting inside your heart, even if it was only for a fleeting moment. You tried to search for islands that will be suitable for you to start your career, narrowing some of them down into choices, but your eyes wil always lead back to where the Baratie was stationed.
You leaned back against your chair, letting your head hit the wall with a soft thud as you released a sigh of frustration. Not only will you need to prepare yourself for a journey all alone, but you also have to talk to Sanji sooner or later, whether you like it or not. The kiss distracted you more than the books Nami gave you. You think of it in the morning and dream of it at night, and it only got worse every time you remembered that he kissed you like he loved you.
Relaxing in your seat, you closed the book and listened to the silence.
The Going Merry docked for a quick trip to a market to gather fresh ingredients for food. Sanji will be gone for the meantime and you were free to roam around the ship without his heated stare boring holes in your skin.
But the peace was ruined by rushed footsteps and Usopp breaking into the room, almost destroying the door with his brute force. You frowned, standing up on alert when you saw how nervous he looked.
"Sanji's injured!" He exclaimed, which got your brow raising, knowing that he had a long history of lying to people. However, he forcibly pulled Sanji inside, and you were greeted by the sight of a bruised man, whose lips were bleeding and cheeks were starting to yellow.
You immediately sprang into action. You took the first aid kit you packed in your bag and grabbed his arm, making him sit down on your chair.
"How did you get into a fight in just a span of ten minutes?" You asked in irritation, wetting a cloth with saltwater to wipe off the blood on his lips.
Sanji grunted, tensing up when you took a hold of his face and dabbed on his lip using the cloth. "Some petty vendor was selling overpriced onions, and they weren't even the best of quality."
You stopped for a minute, glaring at him. "So you decided to punch them instead of talking it over?"
He only huffed in reply. Pursing your lips in annoyance, you continued to treat his wounds in silence, noticing him flinching and wincing in pain whenever you compress the bruised area with ice. "Who's being petty now?" You scolded impatiently, "Stay still."
The only sound that filled the room was you hastily rummaging your kit trying to find an ointment and an awkward silence that made you want to jump into the sea and never swim back to the surface. You unscrewed the lid of the jar of ointment and scooped some with your finger, looking at Sanji as you did so. He looked back at you quietly, and you tried hard not to think about the fact that you have to touch his lips in order for you to apply it.
It seemed like he realized that too, glancing down at the dollop of ointment on top of your finger, then back to you. You just gave him a small, uneasy smile, showing him that you weren't uncomfortable even though you were, and shyly took a step forward.
As gently as you could, you spread the ointment on the wounded area on his lips, reminding yourself to not be distracted on how soft they looked.
"A busted lip because of overpriced ingredients...it almost feels like you're doing this on purpose so I wouldn't get the chance to leave you." You half-heartedly joked to lighten up the atmosphere. However, you were greeted by nothing, not even a smart comeback or a funny joke from the blond. You hesitantly observed his reaction, and saw that he was grim and serious, guilt swimming in his beryl blue eyes.
The realization began to sink in.
Oh.
You should've known from the start. Sanji was a great fighter; he wouldn't be injured in the first place. "Sanji..."
Sanji took your wrist and held on it tightly. Your breath hitched, only then realizing how much you missed his touch, his warm, gentle, and loving touch.
"Let me go." You weakly said, even though deep down, you didn't want him to.
"Tell me you're not in love with me." He said, sounding utterly desperate that it almost made you fall down to your knees, "Tell me, and I'll let you go."
When you didn't answer, he stood up and cupped your cheeks with both of his hands. He pleaded, "Look at me. Look into my eyes and tell me you don't love me."
"Please don't do this." You whispered in pain as you tearfully shook your head.
"Stay. Please, stay." Sanji begged, pressing his forehead against yours, "What can I do to make you stay? Tell me. I'll do anything. Do I need to kneel? To beg for your forgiveness? Tell me what you want. I'll do anything in my power to make you the happiest woman in all of East Blue. Just please, don't leave."
"I can't." You answered, closing your eyes, a few tears streaming down your cheeks. You hate the way he was making this so hard for you.
He only continued, "Hate me, curse me, shout at me, if you must. Anything but you leaving me. Or do you want to make me yours? Then I am letting you. Whatever you want, mon ange—my heart, my soul, my attention, they're all yours. I'm all yours."
"No..."
"The crew will be incomplete without you." Sanji insisted in anguish.
"I have dreams, Sanji. Just like you and the rest of the crew." You explained softly, placing your own hands on top of his in attempt to comfort him and relieve him from his confusion.
However, he was persistent, "You can achieve your dreams without leaving. You can stay, and I will support you in everything you do. You're better off staying with me—with us."
You said firmly, "I will not spend the rest of my life doing what I don't want."
"Even with me by your side?"
A few second pass before you finally reply, "I'd be miserable."
Pain flashed on his face, making you want to take back your own words, yet you remained strong and unyielding. Sanji took a deep breath and stepped away from you, saying, "I'd rather have you miserable here than go out there and encounter ruthless pirates."
The statement quickly irritated you, frowning at him deeply. "You think I'll have problems with pirates when I've been serving them for years?"
"Oh, darling, you wouldn't be able to say that once you've encountered worse ones, with bounties higher than you could ever imagine." He snapped, voice raising with each word.
"I can manage on my own!" You bit back frustratingly, your tears evaporating into anger.
Sanji scowled at you, impatiently running his fingers through his hair. "You can't fight!" He shouted, voice breaking in the process, and with it, your heart too. It shattered like glass and the shards landed and pierced through your lungs, rendering you breathless. Your eyes widened, mouth dropping open in shock.
Seeing your expression, he immediately snapped back to reality, regret writing itself on his face. You shook your head in disbelief and let out a humorless laugh, "Are you telling me that I'm weak?"
"I didn't say that." Sanji quickly said in a hushed manner.
"But you're implying it!" You choked, still can't believe that he doesn't trust you. He doesn't trust you enough to accomplish your dreams on your own, and that he was not confident that you'll succeed without him by your side.
You wanted to ask him about the passionate kiss you two shared, about his loving gestures that confused the hell out of you, about his fresh bruises that he received on purpose so that he can get you to stay, and why he did all of that. You needed confirmation. But the question that left you was, "What am I to you?"
Sanji stayed quiet, and your heart broke again once more. Deciding that this was the last time he breaks it, you walked away and left him alone to tend to his own injuries.
He lit up a cigarette as he listened to your fading footsteps. A single teardrop fell down from his eye the moment he placed the cigarette between his lips, and all he could think about was that you hurt more than the bruises on his cheeks.
You packed your bags and spoke with Nami, telling her that you were ready, and that was the fifth time you tried to leave Sanji Vinsmoke—and tomorrow, you'll finally succeed.

The sun had just risen, and the early morning breeze smelled of the ocean, the calming sound of waves filling your ears. It was one of those days when the sky was clear and the sunlight wasn't harsh but pleasantly warm on your skin, making it the perfect day to start working on a new song and strum on your guitar for the melody.
But today was different. You were standing on the first step of the ship's staircase that leads to a docking station and a wooden walkway towards an unfamiliar island that was soon to be your new home. Your fingers clenched on the strap of your bag, finding this moment to be surreal. You have tried many times to leave, and here it was, right on the palms of your hands.
"So. This is it, huh?" Your trance broke as Nami commented beside you. She was the only one to bid you farewell and watch you leave, since the others were still asleep. You thought of Sanji and how he looked like when he was sleeping, staring at his handsome features so you can memorize them and implant it in your mind. He was your first love; you didn't want to forget him.
You smiled. "Thank you, Nami." You said earnestly, "I would've liked to spend more time with you. It's tiring to speak to men sometimes, don't you think?"
She laughed. "Yeah." Then, she caged you in her arms and hugged you tightly, surprising you for a second before you laughed too and returned the hug. "Stay safe out there."
"I will."
"So you planned to leave? Without saying goodbye?" A new voice interrupted, breaking the hug you and Nami both shared. You swiveled to look behind you, and there stood Sanji, appearing to have just woken up, with the strands of his blond hair sticking up in different directions. You observed his dejected expression, the downward tilt of the corners of his lips, and the glistening of his tired eyes. You stared at his crumpled suit and his crooked necktie. Despite how messy he looked, he will always be perfect to you.
You walked forward and looked at him fondly, with your eyes full of so much love reserved for him and him only. "Thought it would hurt less." You said, raising your hands to touch his hair and brush it down, "And I was right. How can I leave now when you're standing in front of me?"
He sighed shakily as he felt your soft fingers threading through his hair. "Then don't." He whispered. You only smiled at him. He didn't smile back, but that didn't stop you from taking both of his hands and caressing his knuckles using your thumb.
"Every night, I'll look at the moon and think of you. I'll tell my stories, sing my songs, and whisper my secrets to it. Just like what you and me would do when we were little." You told him softly and endearingly, "Would you be so kind as to look at the moon too and think of me?"
Sanji's eyebrows were scrunched together in agony, muttering, "I can't make you stay, can I?"
When you didn't answer, he just nodded his head, understanding what you wanted to stay. He forced a smile and tightly squeezed your hands. "I'm sorry."
"I'm yours." You answered, placing a soft kiss on the back of his hands. After letting your lips linger on his skin for a while, you slowly let go, and with one last glance at his face, you stepped back and made your way downstairs to the docking area, leaving before you could change your mind.
Sanji watched you go. While you walked away from the Going Merry, from the crew, and from him, not once did you look back. He just watched as you went farther away and became smaller in the distance, until you blended in with the crowd and you were just another person in a sea of people. And then you were gone.
It was the sixth time you tried to leave Sanji Vinsmoke, and this time, you finally did.

The red velvet curtains began to draw in front of you, gently falling back down on the stage as you said your final good-byes to your audience for tonight, a bouquet of roses cradled in your arms while you blew delicate kisses towards them. You can still hear their loud cheering and clapping even as you retreated to your personal room backstage.
A middle-aged woman greeted you inside when you stepped in the room and closed the door behind you, whistling. "There she is, our talented rising star!"
You only laughed at the silly nickname, setting the bouquet of roses that one of the people gave you in tonight's show on top of your vanity table. "You exaggerate, Madam. I have only performed two shows in your beautiful theater."
The madam, who was the owner of the theater you were currently working in, shook her head in disagreement. "And those two shows are sold out!" She informed you proudly, placing her hands on your shoulders, "Let me know if you want to add more, you are welcome to perform here anytime."
"I'll think about it." You replied, smiling. The madam patted your shoulder twice before she left you alone, humming happily to herself. You huffed in amusement, fully aware that she doesn't appreciate your talents at all, but only cared for the money.
Regardless of that, you were happy. It has been a couple of years since you left the Strawhat Pirates and pursued your dreams all on your own, and you've been traveling to different islands across the seas to perform. You never had a permanent home; being a musician meant going to many places from time to time to share and spread out your music.
Yet you can't help but miss life on the sea.
You missed washing dishes on the Baratie and the late night conversations you had with Zeff. You missed Luffy and his weird antics, Usopp and his jokes, Zoro and his blunt comments, and Nami and her kindness.
You missed Sanji and everything that he was.
You stared at your reflection in the vanity mirror on your desk. Your hair was pinned neatly, you had make-up on and you were dressed fancily for your performance. Years ago, you wouldn't look like this. It was hard to believe how much you've grown and changed, but these days, you felt like you wanted your old self back. Slowly, you took the itchy pins off your hair, and cleaned your face with warm water and a cloth. You replaced your dress in a more comfortable one and went outside.
Looking up at the night sky, you saw a bright full moon with no stars in sight. It was just the moon and its beauty, illuminating the pitch black sky with its glow. You silently watched it, a smile growing on your lips as you felt a tug on your heart.
"I wonder what you're up to, Sanji." You thought aloud, cheeks heating up at the memory of your first love and his golden hair and his contagious smiles. Then, to your surprise, a voice spoke unexpectedly.
"Well, I am fortuitous to have met such a beautiful angel."
You froze. No one referred to you as angel except for one.
Sanji.
As you turned around, he was already walking towards you. And there you both were, bathing under the moonlight, with him grinning at you mischievously and you looking at him lovingly. You didn't know how he found you, but what mattered was that he searched for you and now he was here, and he was still making your heart beat fast in your chest just like all those years ago.
How the pesky feelings stayed and wrapped themselves around your aching heart, you didn't know. But maybe it was because he was standing in front of you, and the way his next words made you run into his open arms and kiss him until you were both breathless,
"There you are, ange."

AUTHOR’S NOTE | Another college au to add to my many NCT college aus I have lol. But this time, both are professors. I hope this turned out well. I'm always a tough critique of my own work lol. I hope you all like this!
You watched as the students in the Music Department made a buzz when they heard of the joint project that would happen during the year's second half. It wasn't unusual to have a joint project. It has been done a few times between departments. The students didn't seem to have any issues working with each other. It was more like the teachers were having a problem.
Well...more like you and Johnny Suh having issues.
Scratch that…more like you had problems.
You were the Music Business Professor and he was the Music Production Professor. You both were popular with the students and you were the two best in the department. So it wasn't a surprise when you both were put in charge of this project.
The Music Production students would be involved in all creative and production sides of things while the Music Business Students would take the business side. You both would have your classes work together as you worked alongside them.
You and Johnny had been rivals ever since you got this job. The reason is because you both have the same skill sets. You could have been teaching music production and Johnny could have taught music business but you love the business aspect. Johnny on the other hand would rather have his hands dirty with the music itself.
When you first met Johnny, you didn't expect him to be a professor. He didn't look or dress the part. You thought he was a graduate student but then you were informed he was the teacher. It surprised you because he looked so young. But then again, he also thought the same of you.
That's how it all started.
You were surprised that Johnny could do everything he could. It was as if he knew all there was about music. He could sing, play instruments, produce, write lyrics, and could even dance. He could have been an idol or a professional musician but instead, he chose to become a teacher.
You both were so busy arguing with each other. The two of you were so passionate about music that it was hard to agree on things. This project had to be a success and the two of you had to be a team to achieve it. But that didn't stop the two of you from bickering over small things.
It didn't help that Johnny was so attractive. You hated how he could make a plain white shirt and a pair of jeans look sexy. You also hated how he could make his voice so low and sexy. But most of all, you hated how his voice turned so soft when he spoke to you.
You would catch yourself staring at him, getting lost in his beautiful eyes, and his handsome smile. You would get a warm feeling in your chest and you hated that feeling. You wanted to hate him. You wanted to dislike him. But he was so charming that you couldn't help but like him.
You tried not to get involved with your coworkers. Especially with Johnny. He was very much a flirt. You didn't know if he did it because he was attracted to you or because it was just his nature. Either way, it annoyed you.
You hated the fact that your heart skipped a beat when you saw him. You hated how every time you were close to him, your face would feel hot. And most of all, you hated how you couldn't stop thinking about him.
You had feelings for Johnny.
You wanted to tell him that you had feelings for him.
But what was the point?
You had a feeling he would reject you. He would probably say something like 'you're just another coworker'. You were sure that he wasn't the type of guy to date. If anything, he probably has many girls chasing after him. There was no way someone like Johnny Suh would choose someone like you over anyone else.
You had been sitting at your desk, grading some papers when there was a knock at your office door.
"Come in."
"Y/N, can we talk?" Johnny said, leaving the door to your office ajar.
"About what?" You ask, gathering your papers and shoving them in your bag.
"We have to get our heads together on this project. The semester is going by faster than we realize. I think we should start meeting more often to get the ball rolling. I would like for us to be on the same page. At least let's show our kids that we can work together. What do you think?"
Johnny is right.
"Fine." You muttered as you ran a hand through your hair. "You think we should also jump on this project with the kids instead of just sitting back and watching them? You know...be involved?"
Involved? Johnny was thinking of just overseeing the whole thing but maybe it would be better to join the kids in this. He's done this sort of project before but this time would be different. This would be the first time you would be involved in such a project and he would love to see you in action.
"Yes. That would be great. Are you sure though? You've never done this type of thing before. Are you up for the challenge?" Johnny asked, leaning on the doorframe.
"What the hell do you mean? Do you think I can't do it?" You said defensively.
"I didn't say that," Johnny replied. "It's just that this project would involve a lot of work. It would require long hours and dedication. It's not going to be easy. If you're not up for it, I won't force you."
"I am up for it, Johnny. You don't have to worry about me. I'm a big girl. I can handle myself." You replied.
"Oh yeah? Let's go, Y/N. Show me what you got." Johnny teased.
"Alright, let's meet after class tomorrow." You responded, trying to get the last word.
"How about we meet after class today?" Johnny offered.
"Today? No can do. I have other plans. Can't cancel." You responded.
"Other plans? What kind of plans?" Johnny asked.
"What kind? What's that got to do with you? Are you my mother? Am I not allowed to have plans on a Friday night?" You questioned defensively.
"Sorry, I was just curious. Forget I asked." Johnny replied quickly.
Johnny didn't want to admit it but he wanted to know what plans you had. Maybe you were going on a date? The thought of you going on a date with some guy bothered him. He didn't understand why it bothered him though. You were just another coworker. At least, that's what he told himself. But that was a lie. He liked you and he's had feelings for you since you met.
He tried not to think about you too much. But lately, it's gotten harder not to do so. Whenever he closes his eyes, your face is all that he sees. He couldn't believe a coworker, a girl who was so focused on the academics of the music business, could be so beautiful. But she is. She is beautiful in her own way. She doesn't need flashy outfits or tons of makeup to shine. Just her smile, her beauty, and her passion alone were enough to win him over.
So here he is, standing in front of the girl he likes. Asking her what plans she had on a Friday night.
"You know what?" You looked up at him. "Why don't you join me tonight? I was going to get drinks with some of our coworkers but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you joined us. What do you say?"
"I guess I can join you. It sounds like fun." He replied.
"Great. Just don't bring the mood down, ok?" You laughed, turning off the lights.
"Hey, I'm not a party pooper. I know how to have fun." Johnny scoffed.
"We'll see." You smirked.
"You invited who?" Doyoung asked, eyes wide.
"Johnny." You repeated. "I invited him. Is that a problem?"
"I didn't think you two would get along." Jaehyun chimed in. "I thought you hated each other."
"It's not that I hate him...it's just...ugh, you know what? Forget it. He's coming and now I have to act like his handsome face isn't making me feel weird." You groaned.
"Ohhhhh... So you like him." Hendery teased.
"Don't even go there, Hendery. Just pretend like you never heard me say anything." You responded, your cheeks beginning to feel hot.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late. Oh, hey Y/N." Kun waved.
"You're not late. Johnny isn't here yet." You answered.
"Oh, Johnny's coming? I thought you hated him." Kun wondered.
You slammed your head against the table and groaned. Why the fuck did everyone keep bringing that up? Did you not invite him? What would the reason be?
"She doesn't hate him." Hendery teased.
You rolled your eyes. "Can you not, please? It's bad enough you're all ganging up on me. I'm the one paying for all your drinks so can you all just leave me alone?"
"Ok, ok. We'll stop." Kun raised his hands up. "We won't mention Johnny."
"Thanks, Kun." You smiled.
"Unless..." Kun whispered.
"KUN!"
"Hey guys." A familiar voice interrupted.
You all looked over to see Johnny smiling and waving at the group. You felt a blush rise on your cheeks as you saw him approach you. Why did he have to look so good all the time? He was wearing different clothes than what he wore at school. Decked out in a white t-shirt that hugged his bulging arms and a pair of dark denim jeans, he looked really good. He sported a pair of fashion frames and a bag that was slung over one shoulder. He was dressed down and casual and it made you want to drop to your knees.
What are these thoughts you're having?
You shook your head, snapping yourself from the image of you on your knees sucking Johnny off. You gave yourself a mental slap to stop yourself from looking at his bulge. You quickly made eye contact, hoping he didn't notice you looking. He smiled at you, causing your cheeks to flush again.
"Sorry, I was driving around trying to find a place to park. Traffic is hell around here." Johnny stated.
"Don't worry, you made it. That's all that matters." You answered.
"Hey, Johnny. Thanks for coming." Kun smiled.
"No problem." Johnny smiled, patting Kun on the back.
You watched as he took a seat beside Kun. He smiled at the rest of the group before turning his attention to you. His eyes twinkled with mischief and you didn't like the way it made your stomach flutter. He sat back in his chair and put an arm behind his head. His shirt rode up slightly and you almost died at the sight of the v that was exposed.
God, give you strength.
You're going to make it through this Friday night with everyone without dying at the sight of Johnny Suh.
You can do it. At least you hope you can.
"So what are we doing tonight?" Johnny asks.
"Drinking," Doyoung replied. "A lot."
"Oh boy." Johnny chuckled. "Well, if you guys are drinking a lot, then I better drink a lot too."
"Yeah, that's the idea." Jaehyun laughed.
"I'm glad you decided to come, Johnny," Kun said. "Been awhile since we all got together like this."
"Now that I think about it, I've never hung out with both Johnny and Y/N at the same time," Hendery mutters. "It's usually one or the other."
"Is that so?" Johnny arched his eyebrow and turned toward you. "I didn't realize that."
"There's no big reason as to why. We are both pretty busy. Unlike you slackers, Johnny and I have classes to teach." You stated, jokingly.
"Ooooo, shots fired. She went there." Hendery grinned. "How do you counter attack, Professor Suh?"
"She's not wrong." Johnny smiled.
"Of course, he's going to say that. Y/N, I'm offended. I happen to be a great teacher in my vocal classes." Doyoung started.
"You sure the students aren't there to swoon over your voice? Cause every time I pass you, I hear all those gushes." You grinned.
"The voice of an angel," Johnny added. "His fangirls will always swoon for him. Can you blame him though?"
"See! Even Johnny gets me. I can't help that my voice attracts fangirls. It's not my fault they fall for me. It's a curse that comes with talent." Doyoung dramatically exclaimed.
You rolled your eyes at him and took a sip of your drink. Everyone looked on as Doyoung continued to ramble on. They would interject with small laughs here and there, making the whole atmosphere light.
You ordered a few drinks and chatted with the guys. They were having fun, talking about the students and all the gossip in the faculty room. You couldn't help but laugh at some of the stories. You also enjoyed hearing Johnny talk about his students. He seemed like a great teacher and the way he talked about them with so much passion made you smile.
The conversation soon turned to the joint project. Everyone agreed that it would be a great opportunity for the students and the faculty. There would be a lot of learning and a lot of fun. You were excited about the project. You had a feeling it would be a great success.
The night was getting late and the drinks were starting to take effect. Your cheeks were flushed and you were feeling tipsy. You decided to call it a night. You needed to get some sleep. You said goodbye to the boys and headed home.
On your way out, you passed by Johnny who was waiting outside. He smiled at you and you couldn't help but smile back.
"What are you doing out here?" You ask.
"Waiting for you." He replied. "You can't go home alone. It's dangerous."
"I'll be fine. Besides, I don't live far." You argue.
"Then I'll walk you home." He offered. "I have nothing else better to do anyways."
"You don't have to. I'll be ok." You responded.
"I insist. I'll walk you." Johnny stated, following behind you.
"Okay, fine." You groaned.
You walked side by side down the sidewalk. It was a cool evening and the sky was clear. You couldn't help but admire how handsome he was. He looked even better than usual. You liked how casual he looked. It made him seem less intimidating. You knew it was wrong to think so but he looked absolutely edible in casual clothes.
"You look really nice." You blurted out.
"What?" He laughed.
"I said, you look nice." You repeated.
He looked down at you, a hint of surprise on his face. "Are you drunk or something? I've never heard you say anything nice to me before."
"No, I'm not drunk. I just..." You sighed. "You know what, forget it."
"Hey." He grabbed your arm. "Tell me."
"You look really good in those clothes. They fit you well." You tell him, the words coming out all mushed together.
"Wow." He chuckled. "Who would have thought you would ever give me a compliment."
"Don't make a big deal out of it." You said, quickly.
"Ok, ok." He smiled. "I'll take it."
The walk was a short one and before you knew it, you were standing outside your apartment building.
"Thanks for walking me." You mumbled.
"No problem." He replied.
You stared at him for a moment, wondering if you should ask him inside. You were feeling a little bold and you were sure that you wouldn't regret it. "You want to come inside?"
"For real?" Johnny's eyes widened in shock.
"Yeah. Why not? I think we could use a break from all the work we've been doing lately." You replied, trying to contain the eagerness in your voice.
"Why the hell not." Johnny smiled, stepping closer to you.
You lead the way up to your apartment. When you get inside, you kick off your shoes and throw your keys on the kitchen counter. You turn to look at Johnny who is looking around, taking everything in.
"This is nice." He murmured. "It looks like a great place."
"Thanks. Make yourself at home." You say.
Johnny walked through your living room to the sofa and sat down. You couldn't help but watch him. The way his muscular thighs filled his jeans was mouth-watering.
You head to the kitchen and open up the fridge. "Want a beer?"
"Sure." He nodded.
You grab a couple of beers and walk over to the couch. You hand him a bottle and sit down next to him.
"To the upcoming project." You raise your beer.
"To the upcoming project," Johnny replies, touching your bottle with his.
You clink bottles and take a swig of your beer. You set the bottle down on the table and sigh. "Man, I needed this."
"Yeah, me too." Johnny smiles.
"It's a lot to work out, but I think this project can be successful." You reply.
"It will be. It'll give our students and us a lot of opportunities." Johnny nods in agreement.
"They'll learn a lot and they'll have fun." You add, lifting your beer to your lips. "But mostly, they'll have fun."
"Sounds like my kind of project." Johnny laughs, tipping his head back to swallow some beer.
"I can't wait to hear some of the songs they make." You say the buzz of alcohol makes your head spin.
"Hopefully they aren't too wild." Johnny chuckles.
The two of you chat and finish your beers. You start to feel a buzz and begin to feel a bit braver than usual. You notice that Johnny is feeling the same, as his inhibitions start to lower. "You want another beer?"
"Yes." Johnny nodded. "Absolutely."
"Cool." You reply, grabbing both your empty bottles and getting up. You walk to the kitchen and place the empty bottles in the trash. You grabbed two more beers, then headed back. You hand him a beer and sit down. The conversation turns to music.
"Have you ever written any songs before, Y/N?" Johnny questions, watching your every move.
"I have." You responded. "Back in the day."
"C'mon, give me an example." He laughs.
"Fine." You sigh. "Let me think."
You put down the bottle on the table and think about what song would be the most appropriate. It doesn't take you long to pick a song that you've had stuck in your head for days.
"Ok." You clear your throat. "I've got it."
"Well, go on then." Johnny urged you.
You take a deep breath, gather yourself, and begin singing the first few lines of the song. Your voice is soft and low as the words pour out. Johnny stares at you, his lips slightly parted and his eyes wide.
"Shit..." he breathes out. "I...that was..."
"Yuck." You pout.
"Not at all. That was amazing." He compliments, running his hands through his hair. "Why do you even doubt yourself when you sound this amazing?"
"Come on, Johnny. Be honest. You could tell, I could tell...that didn't sound right." You muttered, suddenly feeling stupid.
"No, it did. It was perfect. Why haven't you shared these with anyone?" Johnny frowns.
"Because I know what it's like to be told your work isn't good enough." You sighed. "Why do you think I went the business route in music? I can't tell you the amount of times I tried and was laughed out of the room. Told I couldn't sing, had no talent."
"Bullshit," Johnny argued.
"Tell me about it." You muttered.
"Anyway," Johnny changed the subject. "We have been drinking for quite a while." He gestured towards the empty beer bottles on your coffee table.
"Are you getting tired already?" You asked with a sly smile.
"I'm not getting tired. Are you tired?" Johnny quipped.
"Me? No." You replied.
"Then, shall we drink some more?" He questioned.
"Sure. If you're up for it." You nod.
"Excellent, let's keep drinking." Johnny smiled, excitedly.
The two of you sat and talked about music. You shared stories of when you were starting out, and how much you struggled in those early days. Johnny told stories of his time in the music industry. He had experienced some great successes and some great failures too.
As the night wore on, the conversation grew more personal. You spoke of your insecurities and fears, your doubts and failures. You both opened up to each other, sharing your innermost thoughts, emotions, and hopes. You realized that despite the years of rivalry and hostility, you were more alike than either of you had realized.
At that moment, something shifted between you.
The air was electric, the tension palpable.
You looked at each other, a silent question hanging between you, waiting to be answered.
You looked at him with a mixture of longing and desire. His eyes burned into yours, an invitation and a challenge, an unspoken dare to take the next step, the next move. The moment hung in the balance, the world slowing to a halt as the weight of the decision pressed down on you, heart hammering, mouth dry, palms sweaty.
"Are we going to do this? The project? You and me?" You asked as your eyes searched his face.
The corner of his mouth tugged up. "Why not? I like a little challenge."
Your eyes moved across his face, trying to gauge the depth of his sincerity, the authenticity of his words. Was he being serious? Or was this just another part of the game?
You weren't sure.
His gaze was intense, the brown eyes beneath the rimmed glasses burning through you. His smile, broad and lopsided, inviting yet mischievous. You swallowed, your heart rate picking up pace.
Did you dare? Were you willing to risk it all for a chance to be with him? A chance to finally lay your heart on the line? To take a gamble and see where it led? Your gaze met his and there was a flash of hunger in his eyes, a spark of desire that made your breath hitch in your throat and your body tremble with need.
Johnny was the sexiest man you'd ever laid eyes on, but more than that, you felt something with him. Something you'd never felt with anyone else.
Johnny leans in.
There was no turning back now.
You lean in and close your eyes, lips grazing his in a kiss. It's gentle, tentative, the beginning of something new, something exciting. The taste of him is intoxicating, and you deepen the kiss, your hands gripping his shirt, pulling him closer.
Johnny pulls back. "Y/N."
"Johnny," you breathe, and your voice is a soft, trembling whisper.
"Y/N, do you like me? Cause I like you, and I'm sick of dancing around each other." He tells you, his gaze unwavering.
"Yes," you manage to say and his lips curve upward.
He leans in again, and you close your eyes, the anticipation nearly making you tremble. His breath is hot against your face, and then his lips are on yours, capturing your mouth in a kiss so tender and sweet, that you sigh in pleasure, sinking into his arms, kissing him back.
"There's no turning back." He says. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," you murmur, your fingers curling into the hair at the nape of his neck, pulling him down for another kiss.
His lips are soft and warm and they move slowly over yours as his tongue teases at your lower lip. He slides a hand around the back of your head, fingers tangling in your hair, and pulls you closer as he deepens the kiss, his tongue stroking yours in long, slow strokes. Your blood rushes through your body, heat pools in your core, and you feel weak in the knees.
It feels like a lifetime passes before you finally come up for air.
He rests his forehead against yours, eyes locked on yours, lips parted.
You smile. "So..."
Johnny runs a thumb over your bottom lip and your cheeks flush with heat. "So."
Your heart is pounding against your ribs and you feel like you might pass out.
"Do you want to get dinner with me?" Johnny asks, and the smile on his face is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
"I'd like that," you whisper. "I'd like that a lot."
The next few days passed in a blur and now you were sitting in one of the lecture halls with the students.
The joint project was coming together quite nicely and everyone seemed excited about it. You and Johnny were working well together and you could see that everyone was learning a lot. You couldn't help but wonder why the two of you hadn't teamed up like this before.
"Professor," One of the students in your class spoke up. "I'm still surprised that you and Professor Suh are working together on this."
"Yeah, me too." A student agreed. "I didn't think the both of you would join us. I thought you'd just oversee the project like we've done in the past."
"I understand, guys. It is a surprise." You nodded. "But isn't it a good opportunity to see how the professionals do it?"
"It's great." The student beamed. "We are so lucky to have you guys join us. You guys are so awesome!"
"I couldn't agree more." Johnny smiled.
Everyone was impressed by how hardworking you two were. The two of you were so determined to make this joint project a success. You had been working hard and making sure everyone was on track.
It was like this for a few days until one day you and Johnny were in the Music Production room.
Johnny's desk is a mess. It's cluttered with papers and all kinds of different musical instruments. His laptop is in the center of it, with all of the documents and folders that you and Johnny had been working on scattered all over it.
You sit at the piano, going over some songs and working on a few chords when Johnny suddenly comes up behind you and bends over, putting his hands on the piano, his face inches from yours.
"What are you doing?" You ask, turning to look at him. "What if one of the students sees us?"
"We are working on a project, right?" He smirks. "Don't you think that it's important for the students to see their professors getting involved with the project? Besides, I'm keeping it professional during work hours but after hours..."
He leans in closer and you can feel his breath on your face. He stares at you with those beautiful brown eyes, his lips curved in a devilish smile.
"I can't wait until after hours." He whispers. "I can't wait to be alone with you. To finally touch you the way I've been wanting to."
Your breath hitches in your throat as you watch him. You can feel your pulse quicken as his words register in your mind. You stare into his eyes, your heart skipping a beat. That night when you invited him up to your apartment ended with dinner and kisses. That's all it had been since then, a couple of kisses here and there. Nothing else.
You wanted more though. You wanted to feel his skin against yours. To hear him call your name as he moves within you. His words echo in your mind and your core tightens at the thought of being alone with him. Your lips part and you lick your lips as you watch him.
"What are you thinking about, Y/N?" His gaze drops to your lips. "I can read it all over your face. I wonder what else is running through that pretty little head of yours."
"If I tell you what's going through my mind," You whisper, staring into his eyes. "It won't be professional, Johnny."
"Who said I was looking for professional?" Johnny purred, licking his lips.
The words have barely left his lips when the classroom doors open, and a student enters the room.
You and Johnny straighten up.
"Professor." He calls you and greets Johnny.
The rest of the students enter soon.
The class was going along great, as the students were diligently working on the assignment Johnny and you had given to them. The project was a mix of audio-editing and music production. You two would switch back and forth on who gave the lessons since Johnny was a Music Production major and you were in business, but it worked well because you knew about the production side and had an ear for good music. You watched Johnny explaining something to the class, admiring his handsome face, the shape of his full lips, the strength of his jaw, and the muscles of his arms as he gestured to something on the screen. He was wearing his signature plastic black glasses. Those damn glasses.
He noticed you and gave you a flirty wink and a crooked grin, knowing how good he looked and how much he was teasing you.
One of the students asked a question. "What are some things to watch for while mixing tracks for the final project?"
Johnny grinned. "I would be careful to make sure all tracks are at the proper levels."
You rolled your eyes, taking in his words, noting how his mouth formed each word, and how his voice seemed to caress the words as he spoke. You wondered briefly, if that voice held the same tone during other things he did, such as whispering, singing, or...more intimate activities. You cleared your throat, banishing those thoughts for now, forcing yourself to concentrate.
Johnny continued.
"Always use crossfades," he says, "and add panning to make it sound as natural as possible."
The students nod, seemingly impressed.
"Yeah." You nodded. "For a perfect mix, we must pay attention to all of those little things. You won't have time to do that in a club situation, or maybe even at a concert, but for this type of project, and in an acoustically friendly room, you have plenty of time to fine-tune it. What you produce today should sound good in a club, but it shouldn't be flat. Always make adjustments. Pay close attention to things like volume and bass and use equalization to set levels and frequencies, making adjustments until it's at an optimum level."
"Professor Y/L/N, you know a lot about production!" One student exclaimed.
"Hey, I have the same skill set as Professor Suh." You said in amusement. "Music is my passion just the same as his."
Johnny winks at you and says. "Well, that's all the time we have today, class. No classes tomorrow but on Monday, Professor Y/L/N will have a lesson ready for you guys. Have a nice long weekend!"
The students clapped their hands and nodded. You waved at them and told them to have a nice long weekend.
Once the last student was out of the classroom you gave Johnny a big grin, the kind that showed all of your teeth, and he returned it, chuckling and running a hand through his messy dark hair.
"You look exceptionally good today, Professor Suh." You laughed.
"Me? You should see yourself, Professor L/N. If I'm the finest-looking professor here, you are definitely second." He teased, offering you his arm, which you took, looping it through his, laughing as the two of you exited the classroom and began your walk. "So, what are your plans for this weekend?" He asked.
You had to think for a minute as the two of you walked through the campus to your usual meeting place, the university coffee shop, before responding. "Probably nothing...unless I can convince a certain professor that it's finally after hours."
"You know," Johnny began. "I might be convinced if the professor would accompany me to dinner."
You gasped in fake shock and he just winked at you. "Only if said professor brings a good bottle of wine."
"Sounds fair enough," Johnny replied. "Say, tonight around seven, your place?"
You chuckled, giving a little shrug, as the two of you walked into the coffee shop. It was empty aside from the two baristas who had their backs turned, chatting happily as they were stocking the display cases.
"I suppose we have a deal," you agreed, ordering the two of you coffee.
The day passed with meetings and grading tests until the clock showed seven o'clock. Your doorbell buzzed and your stomach did a flip as you pressed the button to allow him access. When he appeared, his knock sounded, and your hands shook slightly as you opened the door.
"Hey," he smiled. "I got a couple bottles of wine...and, something special."
"Something special?" You cocked your head. "You are already enough of a surprise, Johnny."
He lifts the bag with a laugh, taking the two bottles of wine out.
"Oh." You gasp, taking in the other object.
A box of condoms.
"You have a big head if you assume we'll go through all those condoms," you chuckle and hold the door open for him to enter.
"Better to have it and not use it than to need it and have it missing." Johnny places a light kiss on your cheek as he enters.
Dinner is a delicious meal made by Johnny and even though he is the cook, you help him serve. Johnny then fills your glass and settles across the table, waiting for you to sample the dish. Johnny is staring intently at your face when you take your first bite and his gaze turns amused and maybe just a tad smug when a moan slips from your lips.
The food is amazing. As he starts eating his meal, your brain wanders to thoughts of sharing more meals with him. Sitting at this same table eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sharing coffee and toast in the morning. Drinking smoothies in the kitchen while you cook or the two of you preparing the food together, hip to hip as the music is softly playing in the background.
After dinner, the dishes are left in the sink. You will take care of those later.
Instead, Johnny follows you to the couch with the bottle of wine in one hand, and two wine glasses dangling in the other. You settle on the couch and Johnny places the glasses and bottle on the low table in front of the couch. He fills both glasses and offers you one. You thank him and take a sip. The liquid leaves a sweet taste on your tongue and a pleasant warmth in your throat.
You settle yourself into a corner of the couch and he takes the other corner, stretching his long legs out in front of him and sighing, clearly relieved to be off his feet for a while.
"Dinner was delicious." You say softly, a slight blush tinting your cheeks.
"Thank you. I enjoyed cooking it for you." Johnny said, his eyes dancing with joy as you shifted in your seat a bit to take another sip of wine.
You find yourself holding his gaze, staring into his deep brown eyes, so full of life. You set your wine glass down on the table, careful not to spill it, and smile up at him.
"What?" He smiles, putting his wine glass next to yours, and looking at you.
"Nothing." You reach up to cup his cheek, his skin warm, and lean up, brushing your lips against his.
He moves slowly against you, his lips caressing yours and it feels so good. Johnny's hands rest on your shoulders. One slides down to wrap around your waist, pulling you close to him. His tongue grazes your lips and you sigh into the kiss, opening your mouth. His tongue slips inside to explore. You allow his tongue to roam your mouth before tangling your own with his.
This time Johnny moans and pulls your lower lip gently with his teeth, eliciting another sigh from you. Slowly, reluctantly, you pull away from him, your breath coming in short, ragged gasps. He licks his lips and leans forward to give you a soft peck on the lips.
"Do you know how much I love kissing you?" He whispers.
"Yes." You giggle as you remove his glasses, holding them in one of your hands. You toss the spectacles behind you, and it falls on the coffee table. You slide your other hand into his messy hair, pulling his lips back to yours for a few seconds before pulling away.
"Now, we're getting somewhere," he chuckles.
"Mhm, yes." You stare at Johnny, tracing a line on the side of his jaw.
Johnny takes his fingers and places them beneath your chin, lifting your face to meet his. His lips meet yours and he kisses you softly, tenderly. When he breaks the kiss, his fingertips trace the outline of your lips, his brown eyes fixated upon them. His hands move up to cradle the sides of your head and he presses his mouth against yours once again. Your body shudders at the sensations that come flooding over you.
"Johnny..."
"Y/N..."
The whisper of your name causes goosebumps to rise upon the surface of your skin, a small gasp escapes your lips, a quick intake of breath, and a trembling breath follows. He breaks his mouth away, his breath heavy and deep. You run your finger lightly up and down the side of his neck, staring into his eyes. Your other hand slowly moves its way up his back, while the other holds the back of his head. His breathing grows labored as you do so, his lips slightly parting, revealing the faintest trace of a smile.
You begin to realize that there may not be any turning back for you. You may be committing yourself completely, fully, and without hesitation to a relationship with this man. The knowledge scares you but at the same time, the feeling is so right.
"Y/N..." With your name falling from his perfect lips, Johnny captures them again in another kiss, this time placing his tongue between your lips.
The pressure from his mouth is almost too much for you. A moan of satisfaction and desire passes your lips and mingles with the kiss.
Johnny begins to trail wet, feverish kisses down the side of your neck. Now and again he allows his teeth to graze the flesh, eliciting a moan of pleasure from deep within your being. His hands reach behind and grasp the zipper to your dress, pulling it down and allowing the garment to fall to the ground in a heap. You reached up and ran your hand under his white shirt and you could feel the heat of his toned stomach, and the contours of his chest. He helped you pull the shirt off over his head and tossed it on top of the pile of clothes that now lay beneath the two of you. Your own hands then began to work their magic, teasing his skin while unbuttoning his jeans.
Johnny then reaches for your bra, and you feel your face get flush when he snaps the hooks on either side and removes the garment. His hands then cup your full, round breasts, causing them to harden at the sensation, and a small whimper comes from your lips.
"Aren't you glad I brought those condoms?" Johnny chuckled.
"We're going to use at least one..." You laugh.
"And all the other rounds? What about then?" Johnny teased.
"Why are we talking when we can be doing other things, Suh?" You push him on the shoulder lightly. "Hmm?"
Johnny grins that wide-teeth-showing smile, and leans in, cupping your face. He leaves a peck on your cheek and moves his lips lower, kissing down your neck and to your shoulder.
"Ah, don't stop now." You close your eyes, leaning your head back, enjoying his lips' dance on your bare skin.
"Are you sure?" Johnny mutters against you, kissing below your collarbone. "Am I going to hear complaints when the students notice bruises on Monday?"
"I'm sure our college students do the same thing as we are doing, Suh," You let out a breathy sigh, pushing him back to sit on the couch before dropping to the floor, settling yourself in the space between Johnny's legs, which spread just for you.
"Not that I want to think of students when you're about to blow me," Johnny chuckles, fingers running through your hair. "I'd rather it be you on my mind."
"Yeah? What else is on your mind?" You ask, reaching to stroke his cock.
"What do you want me to say?" He purrs and his hand fists your hair.
You don't answer, instead, you trace the swollen, red head of his cock with your tongue before wrapping your lips around him, feeling how his hips move, trying to thrust deeper inside you. Your hands squeeze his thick thighs, urging him silently on and when you swirl your tongue along the head he gasps.
"What else?" Your voice is just a little above a whisper, teasing him by speaking while his length sits heavy on your tongue.
"How I've been wanting you? Fuck." Johnny groans when your head starts to bob.
You work his dick thoroughly, fondle his heavy balls, humming around the full length of his shaft while keeping steady eye contact.
"Shit." Johnny curses under his breath, closing his eyes, hand in your hair gripping a handful of it tightly and making a slight sound in the back of his throat.
He shivers, and you hear him hissing, and soon enough you feel your pussy clenching around nothing and juices leaking on the rug under you as you're not wearing your underwear and a small mewl comes out of you.
You then pull him closer against your face, taking him fully.
"Oh shit, that's good." He rasps.
You reach forward to rub his thigh, tracing the muscles that clench now and again beneath his warm, smooth skin. Johnny is a handsome specimen of a man. And he tastes and smells even better.
With another jerk of your mouth, you feel Johnny's fingers twist within your hair, causing your eyes to flicker shut. His body quivers as he lets out a low groan, his mouth open wide and the corners upturned slightly. You suck harder, bobbing your head quickly. Johnny moans, pushing your head further down onto his throbbing cock, trying his hardest not to be overly rough, or to release before he needs to.
"Baby, can I cum on your pretty face?" He mutters, using a gentle grip to pull your head upwards, looking deep into your lust-filled eyes.
Your jaw hurts, you're gasping, and you pull his cock free from your mouth with a wet sound. "Please."
"So good, baby girl. You look so good right now." Johnny grins as he looks down at you, his hand going to pump his shaft. He licks his lips, feeling that familiar heat coil in his abdomen. He jerks himself faster, looking you in the eyes, watching the way they seem to beg him.
"I've wanted to see those lips of yours covered in my cum since I first met you." Johnny grits out, pumping his shaft harder and faster. "Want to see that cum dripping from that pretty chin of yours, hear your moans as you clean every drop up."
His words and his actions leave you desperate, so horny, and so, so needy.
"Fuck, baby, you're such a dirty, dirty girl," Johnny grunts, his balls tightening as he aims his cock toward your awaiting face. His orgasm washes over him in an instant. "Open up, I'm gonna give you what you're after, baby."
He shoots ropes of his load onto your face, hitting your nose, lips, and chin.
"Such a sexy little mess." Johnny rasped as he wiped the last of his cum across your chin with his thumb, rubbing it along your lips. "Swallow that up, dirty girl."
"Yummy," you said, swallowing the whole load, and licking his thumb.
His hand lowers, tracing down the length of your neck to rest upon your collarbone, his index finger hooking underneath to gently pull you toward him. "Won't you have more?" he purrs, his hand cupping your breast.
You place his fingers into your mouth, wrapping your lips around them, moaning as you suck gently, allowing them to graze the inside of your cheek. His smile turned seductive, his thumb dragging across his lips as you began to move, pushing yourself back toward the middle of the couch. You lean down toward his cock once more, licking, nipping, nibbling, and sucking on it, becoming lost in his moans and grunts.
"Just like that baby," Johnny purrs, running his hand through your hair. "Show me what a slut you can be."
Your hands move up and down the length of his shaft, and he lets out another loud gasp, throwing his head back against the cushions, his hands threading their way through your locks of hair. "F-fuck. Baby, you're s-so damn good. I need to f-feel you wrapped around me. Now."
You tilt your head and give him a devilish grin, crawling up his body, kissing him until you straddle his waist. You reached for the box of condoms and ripped the package open. Reaching for his cock once more, he groans loudly as you hold him firmly, stroking the entire length of him while continuing to kiss him. Once the condom was on, you reached behind yourself and grabbed Johnny's thick cock, and aimed it toward the opening of your pussy, lowering yourself onto him with a pleasured cry.
"God. Fuck, you feel amazing, Johnny." You sigh contentedly, slowly beginning to move up and down his solid erection. You plant your hands firmly upon his chest for support, your body grinding against him, setting your tempo and pace. His large hands, in return, wrapped around your back and gripped your sides as his hips began to buck with you, his groin moving upward, matching your tempo, driving his cock as deeply inside of you as he could.
"You really like it like this, baby? Good and hard?" Johnny grunted, as your bodies slammed together over and over again, the sounds of loud moaning and skin-on-skin contact filling the room.
"Fuck, yes." You cry, grinding your hips, tightening your pelvic muscles. Johnny growls as his hands travel to your ass, giving it a nice squeeze, guiding your movements against him.
"This is the most intense, sexual encounter I've ever had, and it's with a music professor," you pant, picking up speed. One of Johnny's hands tightens its grip, then slides up and down your thighs as he holds you in his lap. You reach up, entwining your fingers with his other hand, which rests atop your breast.
He guides your arm behind his neck, pulling you in. "Well my fellow music professor," Johnny said, looking deep into your eyes as you bounced up and down in his lap. He presses his mouth close to your ear and whispers, "...I could tell the same about you too," before bringing his lips back to yours.
"Have we become more than rivals?" You sigh when your lips separate.
"Yeah."
You never thought in a million years you'd hook up with one of your co-workers. Never thought in a million years you'd hook up with a music professor like Johnny.
But yet, here you were.
As you walked through campus a few days later, you spotted Johnny heading towards the parking lot with some music equipment under his arms.
As usual, students flocked around him with smiles and hellos, not letting him out of their sight.
After you had successfully dealt with the students, who had gathered around and asked the inevitable question of: 'Are the two of you dating?' The topic of the question wasn't new to you, it seemed that students had come up with such an idea even before you had ever done anything together. Their questions were answered when Johnny placed the equipment down before leaning in to press a light, lingering kiss to your lips.
The students' eyes went wide in surprise. One of the guys whistled, and another wolf whistled. A group of girls were whispering furiously about how hot you two look, another saying that it took you long enough to go out with each other, the rest not believing the fact that you're kissing each other in front of everyone.
"Yeah, yeah. Your two favorite hot music professors are dating now. Get used to the idea, and move along." You laughed along with the students. Once they all disbursed, Johnny leaned in once again, wrapping his arms tightly around your waist and you felt your stomach flutter with butterflies when he pecked you on the lips.
"Happy now? Happy now?" You mutter against his lips. "Now the whole school is going to know we're together. I can hear the rest of the faculty members already, yapping their mouths off about it."
He rested his forehead on yours and let out a short laugh. "Hah! Like they could ruin this perfect moment." He rubbed his nose against yours playfully.
"They could try!" You giggled, pressing another quick kiss against his soft lips, then whispered, "Your place?"
He simply smirked, putting his equipment in the car. "After you."
His apartment was, dare you say it, perfect. The furniture was minimal, though there was a lot of electronics scattered around, probably expensive recording equipment. He had an incredible vinyl collection and a whole wall full of CDs and records. Everything about the place smelled and looked like Johnny; classy, expensive, cool.
"Wow, Johnny. How'd you ever find the perfect mix between elegance and laziness in apartment designing?"
"I'm just naturally awesome." He grinned, shutting and locking the door to the house. "Anyway," he set the instruments down by the door and made his way toward you, smirking devilishly. "How about you show me what kind of sounds you're into making first."
You felt his hand on your lower back, guiding you gently to his couch as he removed his coat, leaving the garment discarded in a pile on the floor. His hands slid around your hips, drawing you close to him, your bodies flush together. "Let me hear the pretty music you'll make just for me." He purred.
"As much as I would love to make music on your couch...I wonder how it will sound in your bed, Johnny." You gave him a smirk of your own as you caressed his cheeks with both hands.
"Good. Great even." He bent down to capture your lips in his as his arms slid under your thighs, lifting you easily. He carried you into the bedroom, kicking the door shut behind him. Gently lying you down, you watched him peel off his shirt.
He's attractive in school clothes, you have to admit, but he's really gorgeous out of those clothes.
You knew your mouth was gaping slightly from looking at his abs and chest, and Johnny only smiled wider, removing the remainder of his clothing. You admired the definition of his ass as you felt yourself getting wet with anticipation, eager to feel him against you.
With one swift movement, he was hovering above you, lips on your neck as his hands roamed over your body. His fingers make quick work of the buttons of your blouse, moving downward until he reaches the button and zipper on your skirt. Soon, those were gone, and you were left with only a thin strip of material covering your modesty.
You bite your lip, unable to resist a whimper at the feeling of his breath against your bare skin, followed by the warm touch of his tongue. "Johnny."
A grin appeared, his teeth scraping lightly before his lips trailed back up your throat, nipping gently at your chin as he shifted. Johnny pulls you against his naked body, his lips trailing along your collarbone and stopping at your ear to suckle on the flesh, teasing it with his teeth. "That feels nice, but I want your mouth somewhere else." You giggle, sliding your panties off your legs.
"Eager, are we, my sexy professor?" He smirked.
You prop yourself up, arms on the pillow under your head, and watch Johnny shift, kissing the side of your left knee before he moves down, planting soft, tender pecks along the inside of your thigh. The closer he got, the slower he moved. Every touch felt electrified, making you writhe beneath him as his eyes remained focused on the glistening center between your thighs.
When his tongue finally grazed your swollen, slick clit, you had to bite your lip hard. It took nearly everything inside you to keep from screaming. Your eyes widened, and a low, soft moan escaped from your mouth.
"Ah, I see. You like that." Johnny murmured, moving his hand, his lips gliding across your thigh until he found your need once more, kissing you long and slow.
Your arms tensed at your sides, balling into fists as you pulled at the sheet below you. Everything he does leaves your mind blank, causing all sorts of new sensations. A shudder ran through you, a gasp, and his name escaped your parted lips, making his touch linger.
"The pretty noises coming from your lips are like music to my ears." He smiles wickedly. "Music I would love to produce."
Johnny looks up, eyes meeting your gaze as he buries his face between your thighs, flicking his tongue back and forth quickly over your clit. He loves how you writhe beneath him. The sight and taste of you.
"Shit, Johnny." You moaned a little louder this time as your knees went weak at his touch, fingers curling tighter in the bedsheet.
"How do you want it?" His voice vibrating into you makes you arch your back.
You wrap one leg around his shoulder, bucking your hips, silently pleading for more. He wastes no time, picking up the pace of his ministrations, humming with each pass of his tongue. The sensation is overwhelming, and the world around you spins, making you cling desperately to the bedding, holding onto it as if your life depended on it.
The sounds coming out of your mouth become louder and louder, mixing with his humming and moans as his fingers join in the action. He works diligently at bringing your release, listening to the pleasured whimpers coming from you, and you won't last much longer before you're spasming, muscles tensing up in the euphoria, eyes rolling back as he continues licking and kissing.
When you finally collapse into the bed, your body shaking, a hand runs up your leg, and Johnny is crawling over you, pressing his lips to yours. He kisses your jaw, your cheeks, your nose, and your forehead, pecking your lips every so often.
"There's my pretty professor, so responsive. So beautiful." He whispers into your hair, hands still massaging your thigh. He reached over to his nightstand where a condom sat ready. Tearing the foil packet and rolling it down over his length, Johnny brushed the back of his fingers gently across the expanse of your inner thigh and settled them along your heat, rubbing you a few more times before shifting forward until the head of his length was resting right against your entrance.
Johnny had leaned forward and was now licking up the length of your neck before taking the skin between his teeth and giving it a harsh nibble. "Can't wait to feel you wrapped around me."
You squirm and twist, letting his tongue snake its way into your mouth again as he gives your bottom lip another tug. Slowly, his tip began to push into you and it wasn't long before the entirety of his length was nestled snugly inside you, filling you to the hilt.
"Damn, baby," Johnny growled into your ear, as he rocked his hips forward to further bury himself inside. "How am I going to control myself with you gripping me like this? So tight."
For a second, you two lock eyes and stare into each other's soul. Then, without warning, Johnny pulls his hips back and thrusts forward roughly, groaning into your ear at the motion. With the slowest, most deliberate rhythm, he pushes himself deep inside before pulling almost entirely back, the both of you grunting loudly from the pleasure that is running up your body in shivers, eyes scrunched tightly closed as he slowly, agonizingly begins to speed up.
"Fuck," Johnny groaned out, thrusting quicker now. Your ass was bouncing wildly on the bed, as you squeezed his waist with your thighs, wrapping your calves around his lower back.
His hips rolled fluidly as he drilled into you, burying himself as deep as your body would let him. Your screams became louder, echoing off of the walls in Johnny's room. Johnny grunted in satisfaction and gripped your breast in one hand as your back arched upwards, your mind spinning.
"Damn, baby. That's it. Take my cock deep inside that sweet cunt. Take it deep. Deeper. Deeper."
In an instant, Johnny is pulling his cock out of you, flipping your body so that you're belly-down against the soft mattress of his bed. His fingertips grip you tightly, almost roughly as he grabs your hips and thrusts into you again. He picked up where he left off, filling you completely once again before he pulled back and then shoved forward once more. His thick member slips further than you thought were possible, pushing roughly through your walls as they expand around him, allowing him to press harder against the perfect spot.
You gripped the sheets tightly once again, burying your face in his comforter as you began to feel your legs shake. A loud moan resonates throughout your body and travels out your throat. Johnny can't help but release a satisfied groan himself, leaning forward to place sloppy kisses and licks up your spine and to the back of your neck.
"Johnny...it feels so fucking good," you whined softly into the sheets.
"Shit... I know," he replies, sounding strained himself.
It doesn't take long for the pressure to build.
Panting and grunting, you both grew nearer and nearer. The tension inside you began to rise with each thrust. Your legs were already shaking in anticipation.
Your mouth opens as you let out a strangled, satisfied scream of, "FUCK," as the euphoric explosion of sensations starts to flood over you. Johnny groans loudly into the crook of your neck, his arms squeezing you close as he shouts, too, hips bucking desperately as he reaches his climax along with you.
Breaths come out labored.
Johnny pulled himself out slowly, careful not to make a mess. With shaking arms, he pushes himself up, tossing the used condom before plopping down beside you, arm wrapping around your middle.
He pulled you into his chest, cuddling you.
After the orgasm faded, his hand rested gently atop the curve of your hip as he rubbed his thumb gently over your skin, pressing soft kisses to the top of your head.
He hummed a soft melody against your skin and it made your chest hum pleasantly with adoration. You ran your fingers softly down his cheek.
"Hi."
"Hi. You doing okay?"
You turn, draping your leg over his body, and curl closer into his warm, soft embrace. You gently run your finger along his jawline and then caress his lower lip. His dark eyes focus on you with loving admiration and warmth.
"Mm, perfect," you smile.
He smiles back, leaning in and places his lips tenderly against yours, then closes the distance, kissing you again, and again.
Your rival has become so much more than that.
More than a co-worker.
You fell asleep cuddled in the arms of your new music partner and love.

Hello~ Hello~
I saw your Nu: Carnival - Bliss masterlist and I couldn't help but want to send you a request for it. May I have Eiden find another clan member (male reader), an ancient gem dragon alive long before Huey was? He doesn't like humans and prefers to stay up in his mountain cave and when he talks about Huey he calls him ""that foolish bastard"". I don't think the male reader would be a tsundere, but a lonely person with a lot of pain and loneliness from the past; so, a much more mature Edmond. This post doesn't have to have smut or be suggestive if you want it to be.
🍁Maple Anon
Eiden (+ Aster, Morvay, Quincy & Kuya) - Cold Gem Dragon Male Reader
🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.•°•.🐇.
Hey 🍁Maple Anon, I don't know how, but this turned into a lesson in dragon anatomy around the halfway point and is probably not what you wanted, but I added extra bullet points as well as a few more characters to remedy that! The lyrics quoted in this one are from the song “Gold” by Jeff Williams. —Benny🐰
Warnings –> Dragon Dong Anatomy, Eiden, Kuya & Morvay Are Warnings In Themselves, Sexual Situations, [Name] Is Lowkey Prejudiced Against Humanity, Eiden is Horny as Usual, Quincy is Now a Unit of Measurement, Benny forgot how headcanons work

. . .
First, lets do some exposition!
𖢻 I imagine that [Name] was a part of the original clan members of Huey's; except the dragon wasn't exactly an official member per se. Maybe Huey wanted him to join, but he's literally an ancient dragon, and if said ancient dragon says ‘no’, it's best to just leave it at that. Also, with the mention of [Name] being a gem dragon; it made me think of a scenario where Huey actually got his neon gemstone from [Name]. Maybe Huey wanted to test his strength against a legendary dragon and ended up only being able to knock loose a tiny sliver of the reptile's gem claw.
𖢻 I would think that Huey pulling up to [Name]’s humble mountain cave and trying to run the hands with him would probably add to the dislike of humans too. But, most likely, after the ‘fight', Huey would get tired and rest outside of the cave for a few days, conversing with [Name], and the dragon began to get used to his presence. Huey would probably flaunt his ‘victory’ in the form of making a necklace of the sliver of [Name]’s claw, which would annoy the ancient reptile, but the dragon would teach his newfound companion how to harness the gem's essence. But eventually… Huey's visits to his mountain cave would abruptly stop.
Now, onto the present, when Eiden arrives!
𖢻 Eiden probably met [Name] after everyone else, since the dragon isn't an official clan member. It'd probably be on their way back to Aster's mansion that someone, likely Morvay, would ask the vampire how [Name] had been. To which Eiden would then ask them who that was since he hadn't heard of anyone by that name during the entirety of his stay in Klein. This, the group, consisting of Eiden, Aster, Morvay, Quincy, and Kuya –since the rest declined to go with in favor of heading back to rest after a long journey– took a detour and scaled up the great mountain of Chalcedony (I couldn't think of anything else) to visit the dragon.
𖢻 Eiden's first meeting with [Name] wouldn't be all that positive, with the dragon both disliking humans and having grown some resentment toward Huey. However, with Eiden being himself, he'd probably just catch on that the dragon was lonely and was pushing people away to protect himself, so Eiden convinced the others to allow him to stay in the dragon's care for a little while to soften the reptile's walls.
𖢻 The relationship between both of them from that point on can be described as a confused and exasperated husband with his headstrong and prideful wife who's a bit mean. [Name] taught Eiden to harness and control the essence in the neon gemstone (which is probably just tourmaline, if I'm being honest); the poor guy got a good handful of glares and head smacks whenever he fooled around too much. [Name] probably calls Eiden a fool or ‘young human’ most times, only rarely calling him by his actual name, as he saves that for more intimate situations.
Speaking of intimate situations...
𖢻 Let's get into [Name]’s assets~ The ancient dragon has two very large horns that curved behind his head in almost a horizontal ‘S’ shape. They are made of the same glowing rainbow gemstone as the one hanging from Eiden's neck and make for a very good stabilizer if you reach out and grab them like handles. While they aren't an erogenous zone, if you tug on them, they do hurt a bit and I imagine that [Name] is probably a masochist. Going a bit farther down we have his thick tail and two dicks– yes, that's right, we're following that trope on this one. [Name]'s tail is quite long and incredibly strong as well. It can support several heavy objects and 15 Quincys, even more than that if he's in his true form.
𖢻 Onto the pp! [Name]’s members both rest inside of a somewhat small internal sleeve when they're not at full mast. The inside of the sleeve is incredibly sensitive, with the walls being made of thin and smooth, spongy flesh, with an organ located near the back that secretes a sticky, lubricating slick that makes it easier for both members to slide in and out. The sleeve's entrance– or rather, the exit, is a simple vertical slit situated just a few inches above where a human man's schlong would be. When flaccid, [Name]’s dicks are about 2-3 inches long with a circumference of 1 inch, allowing them to rest in the sleeve without issue. But when aroused they grow to about 9-10 inches long with a circumference of 4.5 inches. They have a thin and tapered tip and various bumps and ridges along the underside and are a nice reddish pink in color.
Anyway–! Let's get back on track!
𖢻 Eiden, of course, finds [Name] super hot, but also incredibly intimidating; considering the dragon tried to kill him when he first noticed the gemstone hanging from the brunette's neck. But, after a week of spending time together in [Name]’s cave, Eiden managed to soften the ancient reptile up. Now, the world hopper sets aside a day every week to visit his favorite handsome dragon; letting the horned man train him to be stronger so that he doesn't have to rely so heavily on everyone else. That's not to say that the two don't spend time together doing other things as well though. Oftentimes, Eiden will pester [Name] about giving him a ride on his back because ‘he's never ridden a dragon before’; the audacity.
𖢻 Though… that request for 'a ride’ usually devolves into a steamy session of the sexy dragon hopping up and down on his favorite human's dick. He won't let poor Eiden cum for hours on end; stopping whenever the man gets close to punish him for his insolence. Rest in peace to Eiden's pp. We'll be holding a candlelight vigil later today in its honor.
𖢻 Aster, bless his greedy heart, always tries to convince [Name] to come to his mansion and stay for a while. The vampire both wants to brag to other nobles that he knows the great tyrant of the mountain and also just wants an old friend to visit his home and stay for a bit so that they can catch up. The two had been ‘apart’ for some time –despite Aster hypnotizing a few people to send [Name] letters every month– and the little vampire had missed him dearly. He also just wanted his favorite mannequin to come back…
𖢻 Morvay and [Name] have a strange relationship. Oftentimes, when the incubus had grown to find his regular meals less filling, he would pay a visit to his favorite dragon for a full-course meal that'd last him a whole week! However, when the insatiable familiar has had his fill, the two just cuddle and talk about how they have been since they saw each other last. Morvay fills the ancient beast in on all the details his empty little head can remember, and [Name] says the same thing as he usually did: ‘It was uneventful’. It's a nice little routine the two have and they prefer it that way.
𖢻 Quincy is surprisingly not despised by [Name] despite his status as a human. The two have only interacted twice in the past; the first being when Huey brought him by the horned man's cave after weeks of begging and the second being when [Name] made the spontaneous decision to leave his cave and take a walk around the forest for a while. Both meetings weren't too bad; the two men really just stared at each other in silence the entire time; not being bothered to talk at all. [Name] finds the tall blonde to be a comforting presence– Topper's cuteness helps as well.
𖢻 Kuya… is himself. He and the old man in the mountain had actually never met before Eiden brought him and the others with him to meet [Name]. However, the sly fox was incredibly intrigued by the dragon and paid several visits to the cave after the initial one. Kuya loves reclining against a boulder and listening as the other recounts memories of a time that the yokai hadn't even been alive for. It was quite relaxing and even more interesting than those illusion cards that the young master had tricked him with.

Fanfic type: Smut One Shot Word count: 2.7k+ Pairing: Josh Hutcherson x Fem!reader
Warnings: 18+ MDNI; praising, edging, calling names (baby, sweetheart, etc), unprotected sex, dry humping, oral (m receiving), creampie, female pronouns, aftercare.. (I don't know how to write endings so i'll put it as a warning too LMAO)
Summary: In a night filled with opulence, you dressed to impress for your lover's mysterious surprise. From a chic restaurant to a lavish penthouse, you basked in the extravagance he showered upon you. The evening unfolded with decadent courses, expensive wines, and whispered promises of more indulgent encounters. As the night progressed, the dimly lit room enveloped you, its intimacy heightening the anticipation with each passing moment. The air was thick with desire as the lavish surroundings became a backdrop for an unforgettable rendezvous.
Author note: This is the first time I write something here, I hope you like it. English is not my first language btw, feel free to correct grammar and stuff. Merry christmas LMAOO<3
˝Money is the anthem of success so put on mascara and your party dress.˝
You looked in the mirror one last time and were radiant. Your hair in a half ponytail; the black short dress that was both elegant and casual; your lips... they looked so desirable... You were ready, and you knew it.
You looked at the time on your cell phone 06:54 PM. You knew Josh wasn't an unpunctual person, especially when it came to you. A message appeared on the screen of the device you were holding «hope you're ready for our surprise, sweetheart» You didn't even bother to open it.
You grabbed your expensive Louis Vuitton bag and a gorgeous fur coat, both gifts from your lover.
You checked the time one last time: 7:00pm sharp. The horn of Josh's Bugatti Veyron that you already recognized sounded twice, indicating that he was already waiting for you. You took your keys and opened the door to your luxurious residence. You couldn't see him, his windows were tinted, but you knew he could. As soon as you got close enough to the vehicle, Josh got out of it and approached you, kissed your hand and opened the door for you to get into the car. “You look stunning,” he says as he sits in the driver's side. “Thank you,” you responded, giving him a smile that maybe was fake, wondering whether to add an «I already knew that» or maybe an «I always am».
"Are you ready?" he asked looking into your eyes. You nodded at his question and smiled genuinely. "Yes I am".
Josh started the engine and the car purred at the action. He lightly placed his right hand on your thigh. This would be a long night.
You drove quickly down the highway. "Can I turn on the radio?" you asked, already knowing the obvious answer. "Yes, honey," your lover responded without taking his eyes off the road. "West Coast" by Lana del Rey began to be heard on all the car speakers.
You sang along to the lyrics, feeling the breeze in your hair. Josh smiled at you, admiring your beauty and your voice. He squeezed your thigh gently, making you shiver. You leaned closer to him, resting your head on his shoulder. He kissed your forehead, whispering "I love you". You said it back, even though you weren't sure if you meant it.
You wondered where he was taking you. He had been secretive about the surprise, only telling you to dress nicely and be ready by seven. You trusted him, but you also felt a bit nervous.
You looked out the window and saw the city lights. You recognized some of the landmarks. You were heading downtown, to the most exclusive area of the city. You wondered what kind of place Josh had booked for you. A fancy restaurant? A luxury hotel? A private club? You felt a mix of curiosity and anticipation.
As you approached the downtown area, you couldn't help but think about the extravagant possibilities awaiting you. The city lights reflected in your eyes, mirroring the sparkle of your designer jewelry.
Josh, focused on the road, continued to caress your thigh with a possessive grip. The anticipation grew as the car glided through the upscale streets. You subtly adjusted your dress, making sure it showcased your curves flawlessly.
The car pulled up in front of a lavish restaurant with a discreet entrance. A valet opened the door for you, and Josh guided you inside. The dimly lit ambiance and the soft music set the perfect scene for a romantic evening. As you entered, heads turned to admire the stunning couple.
Seated at a private table, the evening unfolded with decadent courses and expensive wines. Josh, absorbed in conversation, lavished you with compliments, occasionally interrupting to share an anecdote about his successful ventures. You listened attentively, feigning interest, your mind occasionally drifting to the price tags of the exquisite dishes.
Throughout the night, you played the role of the perfect trophy girlfriend, smiling for the cameras that discreetly captured your moments. The more Josh flaunted his wealth, the more you relished in the attention and the material pleasures that came with it.
As the night progressed, Josh surprised you with a small velvet box. Your heart raced with excitement as you opened it to reveal a dazzling piece of jewelry: a diamond necklace that matched the earrings he had gifted you on a previous occasion. You marveled at it, thanking him with a kiss on the cheek.
As the clock neared midnight, Josh suggested heading to his apartment to extend the celebration. Intrigued, you agreed, wondering what else he had in store for the night.
The car smoothly glided through the city streets once more, and soon, you found yourselves in front of a sleek, modern apartment building. Josh escorted you inside, the anticipation growing with each step. The private elevator ascended to the top floor, opening into a lavish penthouse adorned with city views and opulent furnishings.
The atmosphere changed, becoming more intimate as you entered the spacious living room. Soft music played in the background, and the city lights shimmered through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Josh poured glasses of champagne, toasting to the night and the surprises yet to unfold. "To us," you added, taking a sip of the bubbly liquid.
As the night wore on, Josh led you through the luxurious penthouse. He guided you to a dimly lit room where a large, four-poster bed dominated the space. You stepped into the room, your heart racing with anticipation. The soft lighting cast an alluring glow on Josh's features, making him even more irresistible. As he closed the door behind him, you could feel the tension between them escalate.
Josh slowly approached you, his eyes roving over your body in a way that made you feel both excited and vulnerable. He reached out and ran his hands to your hips, pulling you closer, sending a shiver down your spine. "Tonight is all about us." He whispered to your ear. His lips brushed against your neck, sending a wave of desire coursing through you.
He led you over to the bed, his hands never leaving your body. He sat down, indicating with a nod that you should sit on his lap, which you did. You leaned closer to his lips and closed the small distance that existed with a passionate kiss, full of desire. His hands ran possessively from your waist until they reached the top of your back, where the zipper of your dress was, which was slowly lowered, revealing the skin that shivered down with every touch and caress that Josh gave you.
He stopped kissing your mouth, starting to focus on marking, kissing and licking your neck. Your head threw back in pleasure and your hips began to move slightly on your lover's lap, feeling his erection beneath you.
"It looks like someone prepared for tonight," Josh smirked after observing a set of beautiful lingerie that you were wearing under your elegant clothing, a gift he had given you on one of your previous sexual dates. You chuckled as you began to loosen his tie and slowly unbutton his shirt. You helped him take off his shirt while he removed the luxurious diamond necklace he gave you a few hours before.
"I have to pay you somehow, right?" He approached your neck again as you said those words. "Mhm…" He responded with a sigh against your skin "I guess you do, baby." You humped faster at his cock and he bucked his hips slightly, looking for more friction.
As the room filled with their passionate moans and soft gasps, Josh started to unclasp your bra, leaving your breasts visible which Josh quickly began to massage, licking one of your nipples while playing with the other to give them equal attention. "Josh…" you moaned softly to his ear at the sensation.
The tips of his fingers began to play with the edge of your underwear, lowering it completely as he buckled his hips looking for release. He pushed you away gently to look at you in your eyes "Kneel down, baby…" he ordered and you obeyed him like his good girl. Cautiously, you began to remove his belt and unzip his pants, him looking at you with desire and lust. You helped him take off his pants and lightly caressed his crotch. He sighed at the mix of need, desire and your hand going up and down really slowly, almost tortuously. You felt him tremble at your touch and after playing for a while you pulled down his boxers, his hard cock already dripping pre-cum. You swear your mouth watered at the sight, and you quickly started licking his length, from base to tip, on which you left a small kiss before finally taking his cock into your mouth, never breaking eye contact. Her hand slid to your hair and stroked it slowly. You swirled your tongue around his tip and he leaned his head back, holding your head tighter and closer to him. You gagged feeling the tip of his cock touching the back of your throat and he immediately loosened his grip, letting you go at your own pace.
"Fuck…" He groaned and you hummed to his pulsating cock in response. His hand dropped to the bed sheets, squeezing them as he felt a knot form in his abdomen warning him of his orgasm. You noticed this and separated your mouth from his cock, a thread of saliva joining them both, as you began to jerk him off with a slow pace, edging him off. He rolled his eyes back into his head once more feeling his orgasm cutting off. He cupped your face gently in his hands, lifting it up. He looked into your eyes. His previously brown eyes were quickly consumed by the black of his dilated pupils, thanks to desire. You clumsily climbed back into his lap, his hands immediately settling on your hips with a firm, possessive grip. You grabbed his dick desperately and lined it up to your cunt, feeling the tip of it rub against you before sitting slowly on it.
"Oh fuck!" you exclaimed as he slid into you, hitting your cervix "God… you're so good…" He moaned as he felt your hot, tight pussy enveloping his cock. His hands left your hips and moved to your thighs, holding onto them as he started moving his hips slowly, pushing deeper inside you. You whimpered, meeting his pace as you grinded your hips against him. You could feel your orgasm building up, your pussy clenching around his cock with every thrust. He moaned, seeing your breasts swaying in time with his thrusts. "You're so fucking sexy riding me like that." He said, feeling your tight pussy milking his cock. His hips slapped against yours as he pushed deeper and harder inside you. Your body shaking with pleasure. Your eyes were rolled back in your head, your mouth open panting. You couldn't believe the pleasure you were feeling, his hard cock stretching you open.
"F…fuck… im so close…" You whispered between a moan, your eyes rolling back as you felt an intense wave of pleasure wash over you. "Be a good girl and cum for me, sweetheart…" you tried to respond, but only moans and sighs came out of your mouth. The orgasm hit you like an electroshock drawing an almost screamed moan. Your thighs trembling on top of Josh; your eyes completely rolled into your head. You fell onto Josh's chest, your head on his shoulder and he held you gently. He slowed his pace so you would come down from his orgasm. Josh held you close, feeling your body shuddering from the aftershocks of your intense orgasm. His heart raced, feeling the heat emanating from your body. He kissed your forehead softly, his own breathing heavy. "You're incredible…" he whispered to your ear before leaving another kiss in your forehead.
After a few moments, his heart rate slowly returned to normal and he couldn't hold back any longer. "Ready for round two, honey?" He asked, his voice hoarse from the pleasure. You nodded, feeling completely spent but eager for more. Josh pulled out of you slowly, making sure to prolong the pleasure before lying you down on the bed, his hard cock still twitching. Your legs spread slightly. He climbed on top of you, pinning your wrists over your head. His eyes hungrily eating you up and your body trembled with anticipation.
Josh thrust into you again, his movements both fast and hard, despite his efforts to maintain control. The sensation was intense, filling you up completely. His breathing became ragged as he felt himself close. "Fuck, you feel so good… so perfect for me…". You moaned loudly, feeling Josh's rough love deep within you. Your body arched off the bed, meeting his powerful thrusts eagerly. You could feel the intensity of his movements increasing further.
"I can't hold on much longer" Josh groaned, his hips slamming against yours in an unyielding rhythm. The head of his cock brushed against your cervix, sending waves of pleasure through your body. He bit his lower lip, trying to hold off his orgasm. His eyes were filled with lust. "Fuck, you're tight" he grunted, pushing deeper inside you. You wrapped your legs around him, encouraging him to go deeper. He felt your tight muscles gripping his shaft, pulling him closer to the edge.
His movements became erratic, thrusting into you with renewed force. "I'm gonna cum…" You moaned, feeling the pressure and tightness growing inside you. You arched your back, meeting his thrusts hungrily as he slammed into you again and again, feeling his cock twitching inside you. "I need you to cum inside me… please…" you whispered, your voice sultry and seductive. Your hips bucked up against him in perfect sync with his thrusts, your breasts swaying enticingly. Your nails dug into the sheets beneath you as Josh's pace quickened even more. "Cum for me…" you moaned seductively, pushing your hips up to meet his powerful thrusts.
Josh groaned loudly, his breaths becoming ragged as he felt himself getting closer to his climax. You writhed under him, meeting his thrusts eagerly. "Fuck, you're so tight… so hot…"
His hips slammed against yours one last time, his cock throbbing inside you. eyes closed tightly as he released himself into you, his body shuddering with the force of his orgasm. His seed filled you up, feeling both hot and thick. He groaned loudly, his face contorted in pleasure.
He panted heavily, his chest rising and falling rapidly. He collapsed onto you, your panting filling the room. His cock twitched inside you as he tried to regain control. Slowly, he pulled out of you, a trail of his essence leaking out.
After a few moments, his breathing returned to normal. Slowly, he rolled off you, panting heavily. He looked down at you, his eyes filled with satisfaction. "That was… intense." He said, still trying to catch his breath. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on your forehead, his heart still racing from the intense pleasure he'd just experienced. Josh smiled at you softly, his eyes closed. He reached out and brushed a stray lock of hair from your face.
Josh sat up carefully, his muscles still quivering slightly from the exertion. He leaned over to grab a couple of tissues from the bedside table, returning to wipe the remaining moisture from your inner thighs and between your legs. Josh gently ran the tissues over his own lap, wiping away the mix of his own semen and your fluids. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down after the intense passion he had just experienced. After he was done cleaning up, he scooped up the discarded tissues and placed them in the trash can, then crawled back and cuddled up next to you. His arms wrapped around your waist and he pressed his face into your hair, inhaling your unique scent.
"That was amazing and… you were incredible," he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to your shoulder. "I'm gonna have to spoil you rotten after this." he chuckled and you smiled back to him. "Aww… you don't have to…" you said while caressing his cheek. "Of course I do" He responded to your attempt of kindness, brushing a strand of hair from your sweaty forehead.
You curled into his warm embrace, feeling satisfied and fulfilled. A small smile played on your lips as you knew that this would not be the end of their secret encounters. There were many things you could ask for from him and he would gladly give, just to keep you by his side.
The room was a quiet sanctuary and your mind wandered to the tangible rewards that awaited you after this secret rendezvous. The diamond necklace he gave you whispered promises of future luxuries and you heard them attentively before falling asleep in your rich loverman's arms.

The Red Flags of Ruby's Suicidality Throughout The Volume
It should be obvious, but this short essay will cover heavy subjects of suicide, so if you're uncomfortable with this subject matter please don't read this.
The first red flag was in episode 4, where Ruby contemplated erasing her current self due to her failures, after talking to her 'past self'.
This gets reinforced by the lyrics of Trapdoor, which is about how worthless and unneeded Ruby feels.
One common mindset among suicidal people is this: what if I'm useless? What if my friends don't need me anymore? What if they don't care about me? What if I'll keep ruining everything? Would the world be better without me?
Suicidal people are usually full of self-loathing and blame.
Even in the episode 7 fight Ruby felt useless after seeing C-PTSD red flags (they're not Neo hallucinations because she didn't see the Schnee manor grounds struggle with hacked Penny). In her eyes, the others are fighting well without her, so she's useless.
Another set of red flags is snapping at your loved ones, pushing them away and driving yourself into isolation. We see ALL these in episodes 7 and 8, with Ruby snapping at her friends and running away, and even pushing Little away.
And on top of it she feels like her friends don't care, the world is against her, etc. which is YET another red flag.
(Massive disclaimer that this is NOT anti WBY and they, especially Yang, tried to reach out to her throughout the volume.)
I'd like to mention that if your loved one attempts and you tried to help but couldn't do it, it is NOT your fault. We're not all experts and we try our best, so do not ever blame yourself for these things.
It's not uncommon for suicidal people to refuse help, and on top of it Ruby has always been selfless to self destructive levels.
And the last thing, her self blame over her loved ones dying. While Penny and Pyrrha were apparitions, they still reflected her self blame. And Little dying? The final straw.
So her suicide attempt in the end was being built up all volume.
All I can say is that I hope Ruby somehow gets rescued and also recovers from her mental health problems because JESUS CHRIST.
This was a bit hard for me to write, especially as someone with BPD and frequent suicidal tendencies. This topic hits hard for me. However, I'm not an expert and this post shouldn't be taken as gospel. There may be details even I missed, so feel free to add your own observations.
And remember that if you are suicidal as well, you're not alone. You'll always have people who care about you, and resources to help out.

stray kids as demigods? who's their godly parent?
moony, you're the queen of my ot8 skz headcanons 🫶🏼 this is not based on percy jackson's gods, but the real stories about them btw & either as gods or sons of them, i'm just talking about their characteristics. also YEAH the gods selected are the parents of my pjo au djksndlsndkd couldn't help it !!
﹙ ★ ﹚ bangchan — zeus. hear me out, he's the king of gods. the leader. of course it suits him. it's true that everyone knows zeus is the worst thing that could happen, but with chan wouldn't be like that. he is powerful, we all have seen those videos of him using his leader card. he's also wise, because he has to control the weather and resolve conflicts or problems between the gods with a minimum of justice. his symbols is the thunder, and i can almost see the lightning, blinding light of a storm in his eyes every time he gets really angry. and, how could it be otherwise, his love life. he may be delulu in real life, but he has also that fuckboy vibe. fits all of zeus's affairs tbh.
﹙ ★ ﹚ lee know — hades. shady, reserved hades. he might have a three headed cat instead of the original hades' dog (soonie's, soongie's & dori's heads all in one big ass kitty) but he loves his place in the underworld. calmness, quietness, tranquility, far far away from all the chaos of the other gods. he might travel to the outside just to add to the chaos, ngl, but at the end of the day he wants to drown in the silence. he perseveres a lot too, and he's stern. very forbidding, and he doesn't interfere into his jugdes sessions - he might be the guardian of the death, but he doesn't take favourites. except his wife, whom he worships every day.
﹙ ★ ﹚ seo changbin — hephaestus. he's described as a kind & hardworking god. he's very resilient, doesn't care about power. he just wants to do his thing and be happy. binnie as hephaestus wouldn't be very good (he's too clumsy to be a blacksmith) but he tries. many people reject him because of his physique, but he just wants to help. he likes to create tools and objects that can be of help to the people around him, he likes to fix things that have been broken. he might not talk about his feelings, but he deserves to be treated with a lot of care and affection, because he feels other people's feelings are more important that his own.
﹙ ★ ﹚ hwang hyunjin — aphrodite. hell yeah. first of all, he's changbin's wife (let's ignore that the real greek gods are married but hate each other). the god of love and desire. because he's in love with love and the idea of giving and receiving love and being in love - but he also spills desire wherever he goes. one look at him and oh you're soo doomed. he's an influencer too. obviously not like the ones we see on ig, but you naturally just tend to imitate him a little bit whenever you see him (and he can influence you and your love life and your perception of reality if he wants). also, like aphrodite, he rised from the past. she was born out of sea foam when uranus was murdered, our hyune was born again when he came back from his hiatus.
﹙ ★ ﹚ han jisung — apollo. every single characteristic of the thousands of symbols apollo has as a god fit jisung. god of medicine, because he is slowly healing from his own wounds, and one genuine smile of him can heal our days. god of music, because with his lyrics and a lazy scratch of the strings of his guitar he creates masterpieces. god of light, because even if the sun is too bright and he represents more that shadowy, warm sunset oranges, he brings light into our lives. and god of knowledge, because he's very very smart and he's always watching documentals and reading about whatever he's into at the moment, learning something every day. he's a calm but chaotic god, and he's sliightly dependent on zeus (he's chan's first stray kid after all).
﹙ ★ ﹚ lee felix — poseidon. i know the original poseidon is more of a bad tempered, almost dictatorial god and it doesn't fit him at all, so here i was thinking more of percy jackson. that adhd kid, so energetic and ready to have a good time, humorous but completely oblivious. he gets angry when things don't go his way, or when he loses (in videogames or real demigod battles), but he's loyal to his friends. loyal to dead. and brave and caring and sensitive, even if he tries to hide it with sarcasm because it's dangerous to show who do you care about.
﹙ ★ ﹚ kim seungmin — athena. our witty, wise, smart ass boy. he loves a good fight. he loves to create chaos. but when he's involved, he's always, always going to adopt a strategic warfare, ready to win with the most unexpected but intelligent tricks. he prefers to defend than to attack, unless he's with friends and in a space where he feels comfortable - then he will destroy you and you won't be able to say a word. but it's his love language bdkwnfke he has a strong vision of justice, and will act as he thinks because he knows he's generally right. he's helped heroes when they needed it because he knows what it is to feel helpless and alone and doesn't want anyone to feel that way, and he also is the god of homehold crafts, like cooking (just remember that athena & poseidon do not mix well and it will be even worse if you put them together in the kitchen).
﹙ ★ ﹚ jeongin — hermes. the cunning thief of the great twelve. he's the messenger of the gods, and the only one who is allowed to leave the underworld without consequences (because hades has a soft spot for him, ofc). he's very quick, guardian of literati and athletes, a troublemaker and trickster, but also solemn and responsible. he was the one who gave apollo one of his first instruments after a robbery in which he was caught, and somewhat he always finds himself in the middle of the most famous love stories (either helping the lovers or causing trouble). he hasn't find love yet, but he doesn't really care. he's enjoying his life, if it has to come, it will.
i am well aware that each one has a different perspective about the boys and yess i also see lix as apollo or changbin as ares, but i decided to give them these gods because i think they fit better. you're welcome to comment your opinion too 🫶🏼

and if I get burned, at least we were electrified by @seiya-starsniper
The latest bind here at Mountain Press Publishing! This one was a ton of fun and made for a chuck of firsts for me as well! From making a book of a smaller size (and a different size than my usual in general!) to refreshing my Illustrator knowledge as well as some quick sticker making, this ended up being a very fun project!
Initially, I planned for this bind to be the size of a CD album (and it was), but I intended to be able to fit it within a CD case itself. However, it ended up being the perfect size of a case, which meant it didn't actually fit inside of the case.
Lessons learned there!
Thankfully, I had also picked up some CD case sleeves that I was able to package the book within to still achieve that aestethic I was going for.
Now, you may be wondering why I went for a CD size at all. This fic's title (as well as Chapter Titles) were all based on lyrics from Taylor Swift's reputation album! Which, once I found that out, helped me solidify the styling I was going for.
I looked up the Reputation album and the styling and fonts that were used on the cover images as well as the lyric booklet within, which is how I settled on the drop caps and the fonts I choose.
And here's the reference image I used for the text
You can see that the fonts are pretty similar. The header in the book also matches the header here!
And, of course, if I was diving down this copy of Reputation, I had to make a matching cover as well!
Shout out to the Sadman server's channels devoted to Ferdie and Tom and Boyd. I had plenty of good photos to sift through and choose from to get all the boys in the image!
Here's a full view of the cover, spine, and back as well. And yes, I did have to pen tool that summoning circle by hand since I couldn't find a good transparent one online!
Now, for the chapter headers, you may have noticed some peculiar images in the back. In the fic, The Corinthian as well as Dream have symbols, signatures of sorts, that they have. Old ones, made before humanity as we know it. They end up featuring a few times, mainly when the marks appear on Hob, marking him as theirs. So, of course, I had to design those as well!
The Corinthian's is on the left and sharper than Dream's, which I thought fitting for a nightmare. There's the theme of three in his, with the three sections, three lines, and three little swoops. The design is also mirrored, which ties nicely to his function as humanity's dark mirror.
For Dream, his is more fluid, more swoopy. It starts like a circle that quickly breaks into diverging lines, similar to the unreality of dreams and their meandering paths. It also looks somewhat like a treble clef, which also ties well with Dream's role and relations to the arts and creative pursuits.
The final image is of their marks combined, swooping and curling around one another.
The last major part of this bind was the stickers that I created and printed to go along side the book! Since the CD case didn't work out as I had hoped, I still wanted to add something special and unique to this gift for Seiya, so I decided to design some sticker that went along with the fic! I didn't take photos of them all cut out, unfortunately, but I do have the original sheet here.
We have the marks in color, the album cover, along with some more fic specific stickers! These were really fun to design, honestly. I have the knife one on my laptop currently! 😂
Overall, this was an amazing fic and if you're a Hobrintheus or Hobrinthian lover, you definitely need to check it out! This project was a ton of fun to work on and I'm so glad I could get a copy to the wonderful author ♥️

I’m still very fascinated by the melodies of “Come to Me”, “On My Own”, and “Epilogue” in Les Mis. Especially the last lyric/tune “To love another person is to see the face of God.” Because that's exactly what I think this whole melody means, and even the entire story. I got that from this video, analysing the melodies of On My Own, and I just couldn't help but add my own thoughts!
To love another person is to see the face of God can be applied to most characters I can think of, especially the suffering ones. And it doesn't even have to be interpreted religiously! Seeing the face of God as in finding meaning and light and hope in an otherwise dark and devastating world is what these characters are going through, and they’re feeling this hope and purpose through their deep and unconditional love.
Valjean is sombre about his life even after his redemption through Bishop Myriel. He is kind to everyone and lives life with good intentions but it's incomplete. He doesn't love anyone in particular to feel truly happy, that is until he comes across Fantine and Cosette, and that’s when his life is truly given a purpose by having Cosette as his adopted daughter. Fantine, on the other hand, has an optimistic start in her story, where she’s loved and is “loved” by her friends and Tholomyes. And even when she’s driven into poverty and prostitution, it's not all for nothing, because she still has hope, she still has Cosette. And that’s when she sings “Come to Me” as she is dying.
Marius treads through the difficulties of poverty, refusing assistance from anyone, because of his love for his father. And he’s made more peaceful and joyful when he sees (not meets) Cosette (even though his actions towards her were questionable). Eponine is aware of this and finds love in him because of it. Love and hope she couldn’t truly see in her recent life of poverty, and misery. With him, even though he doesn’t do much for her, she lives in a world full of happiness that she had never known. And that’s what drives her to do all the favours for him. It’s what keeps her going, what gives her bleak life a small, but precious purpose.
Enjolras, though he isn’t mentioned to be going through anything bad in particular (and despite saying that his one true love is his country, not a specific person), is ultimately also driven by the love he has for his friends. They’re more than just a political group for him to lead, they are, as mentioned, his family. Each of the amis is driven by love, for the country, for their other loved ones, and for their friends. And they were willing to march to their deaths because they had hope, they had love. And in the end, Enjolras is nailed to the wall by eight bullets that take his life away, symbolizing each one of his friends that he died for, even Grantaire. And especially Grantaire, who was struck to the floor with one bullet as he died for Enjolras. He is drowning in a life full of absinthe and nihilism and the suffocating depths of hopelessness and Enjolras is the little light on a little boat far up in the surface. He stays with Les amis for his friends, yes, but he does so most especially for Enjolras who is the only hope in his life. That’s why his life has meaning, and why he gives one to his own death too.
But what about Javert? He hadn’t loved anyone in particular, and as far as I know, he was only attached (not truly loving) to the justice system he thought was fair. And this lack of meaningful love separates him from everyone else. That’s why he’s the only one who commits suicide. The life he thought was meaningful, the purpose he thought he had was all a lie. And he couldn’t ever live with that.
“Tell Cosette I love her and I’ll see her when I wake.” Is so full of hope, the hope that these characters still hold because of the ones they love. “A world that’s full of happiness that I have never known.” Is their misery, the struggles and despair they would have in their lives if it wasn’t for their love. “To love another person is to see the face of God.” Sums it all up. And I think that’s beautiful.

Based on a request by @babybatlover (whose request is based on a post by @thots-and-thoughts1031 ) for an Alpha!Rhea Ripley x Omega!reader fic where the reader is in heat. I’m also putting in a song by She Wants Revenge for every section and each section title. The fic as a whole is called Eat, Sleep, Breed, because I like to think I’m clever 🖤
Warnings for this section: Omegaverse, dirty talk, breeding kink, pain
Song for this section:
-
Eat, Sleep, Breed (Part 1/?): Your Love
“No touching yourself until Mami comes back”
The message slowly came into focus as you woke up, blinking at your phone. The ache radiating from your core had woken you up and you knew Rhea must have realized you were in heat before leaving - she loved making you wait. Something about reminding you how badly you needed her - it was difficult to recall with your body screaming to be touched.
“Yes, Mami. Want you so badly
You managed to type out in your pained haze. Though the thought of touching yourself wasn’t far from your mind, you knew the only thing that would truly ease the ache was Rhea buried deep inside you.
“Mami knows”
The reply ended with a little black heart and you whined at the message.
“When do you get back, Mami?”
You sent the question desperately hoping you didn’t have to wait long - thinking was already so difficult.
“Wouldn’t you like to know”
The little black heart at the end mocked you and you let yourself fall back from your sitting position onto the bed, groaning loudly. You knew you might as well let out your sounds of frustration while Rhea was gone - anything that could be interpreted as bratting meant you would have to wait even longer for relief.
Trying to find a relatively comfortable position - or at least as close to comfortable as you could get - you did your best to focus on the soft sheets and plush mattress, hoping you might be able to sleep through the gnawing ache inside you.
Only managing to stay still a few seconds at a time, you kicked and flailed under the sheets in bouts before finally admitting sleep was not an option and rolling out of bed. Maybe a nice, hot bath would help.
Grabbing a towel from a basket of unfolded laundry, you slowly made your way to the bathroom. Bending over the tub to turn on the water made you aware of just how empty you were and your sore muscles squeezed around nothing as you thought of Rhea.
Letting the faucet run as you wait for the water to heat up, you hang your towel nearby and take out some epsom salts - hopefully it would help you with the pain until your Alpha came back home. Pushing in the plug to let the now-warm water fill the tub made you realize nothing was going to distract you from what you craved.
Pulling off the black shirt Rhea had let you borrow, you turned on your front-facing camera and did your best to find a good pose and lighting. Snapping a picture of yourself, naked and sticking your tongue out a bit with the tub in the background, you add the caption “bath time” before sending it to Rhea. Scrolling through your music, you put on a song before pouring in the salts and lowering yourself into the tub as it fills up.
Once you turn off the faucet the lyrics become clearer:
"Your love has got me going like you couldn't imagine"
It repeated a few times before you sank your head halfway down into the water, muffling the music. You kept as much of you underwater as you could before hearing the buzz of your phone. Sitting up, you hastily grab your towel to dry off one hand and check your messages. Anything the bath may have started doing to ease your pain felt as though it had been reversed when you read what Rhea had messaged you back.
"No matter how clean you get, Mami can still smell the sweet scent of her bitch in heat. Don't take too long"
[end part one of ?]

one more niki analysis.
for now.
ok this one technically i've had in mind for MONTHS but couldn't figure out how to word it until just now because i a) read hot limit about three months ago and it hasn't left my head since b) the idol exploration event.
anyway. the actual crux of this is: niki's character is specifically written to be content, not happy. these often get confused imo. the second part of this is his contentedness isn't natural, it's forced. the third part of this is no one fucking notices, except for one rinne amagi, because of course he does. by no one, i'm talking specifically character-wise here; niki in game tends to get written off as childish or otherwise doing well, and that comes directly from his other unit members.
side note: i'm fairly confident in my own reading of "niki will pretend to not be bothered by anything, ever" and this is bolstered by a few different things; a) the honeycomb summer lyrics in my last post where there's a part of the intro, "hidden the true feelings out of habit / and now you're regretting it" (rinne amagi you slick bastard) b) hot limit. like the entire story. mostly because he was being troubled by multiple different things throughout it (work, idol activities, and his family last name/father's scandal) and the only person who noticed was rinne, and that's probably because he knew the damn guy for five years c) also in hot limit, the exploration into niki seeing himself as a burden because of his illness. why did they add this into his character and then not elaborate further? i don't know. if it never gets elaboration, i'll implode. anyway, it's a part of his character that he usually doesn't show, but he references it as "not wanting to inconvenience the people around him" REGARDLESS of if the people in question don't mind him inconveniencing them (rinne). in general, the only thing he makes a fuss about is food, likely because of his metabolism and the fact that he does become more of a danger to people when extremely hungry (he has bitten hiiro before.); i.e. the inconvenience for everyone else is a 19-20yro trying to bite them, not complaining that he's hungry.
i digress.
niki has referenced himself as being content with certain things before. for instance, in hot limit, it's phrased distinctly as "just getting to eat every day is a bliss to me - i need to be satisfied with that", which comes up again in his letter from the idol exploration:
"it feels like happiness is there to fill my stomach, too!" oh, is it? is it niki? is it now?
basically, what i'm getting at is niki's expectations for life are so incredibly low, so he's satisfied with getting to eat every day. that's it. just satisfied. side note: this is why i went insane when survival was added to his profile; the way he lives/talks about living, he's been surviving more than living. this is also why i think rinne and niki work so well as a pair, rinne's into living and niki's busy surviving. though, to be fair, rinne and niki's relationship is built on this crux anyway. rinne intends (hopes, maybe? his goal?) is to help niki with what he has identified as a problem. thank you rinne amagi.
(for the record, right after i read this, my live reaction was "WHAT IF I KILLED MYSELF". that's quite dramatic, and i won't, but i figured someone might get a laugh out of that.)
this isn't the first time that rinne has referred to niki (well, more so implied) as "not happy", as it happens in hot limit, too.
"that's why i'll grant his wish and make him happy" oh ok i see.
anyway. niki's fascinating, because this forced contentedness vs happiness is so interesting to me, because beyond rinne's own read of niki, it's easily bought by everyone else he knows. most notably, kohaku and himeru, as their impressions come off of reading niki quite differently to rinne's:
(i grabbed these screenshots after i finished the event for the time being. rinne's i grabbed before LMAO)
both of them appreciate and even look up to niki in certain ways, and they both like his focus on food. but what's interesting is how both of them see him vastly different from rinne; where rinne focuses on his low self impression, himeru thinks niki's perspective of the world is interesting, as well as i think he gives credence to niki being selfless, which kohaku sees him as both childish and reckless. i'm pretty sure both himeru and kohaku see him as more naive than themselves, which is a fair read. this also does line up with what happens in hot limit; while rinne is aware of the troubles niki's going through, himeru and kohaku are both surprised at the end.
niki's own effort, i think, to convince himself of being satisfied and content pays off, because the only person who notices otherwise is rinne. which, imo, is a whole other source of depth to their relationship; rinne probably saw niki working that out. he was 14 when they met, and likely the shiina parents leaving was recent (side note: i'm a certified niki's parents hater. i know we don't have much info on them, but i don't trust them after that burden thing), which is something i've mostly extrapolated by the contact he seems to have at 14 vs at 19, where they're pretty much never mentioned. yes, i know, niki chose to stay in japan. i just don't think you get through your parents leaving you in your native country at 14 while they gallivant around the globe and your communication with them steadily dwindles results in anything good.
ok. i'm sorry for the parent hating.
but unless proven otherwise i'm expecting them to be the source of these problems.
#enstars#ensemble stars#niki shiina#tenor talks#GOD. i fucking love niki shiina. im so normal.#i realize this doesnt have a good conclusion either. you see your honor i dont care.#this isnt an actual essay and you cant make me write a conclusion.#anyway. feel free to ask for elaboration on certain things im always down to talk about niki and sound genuinely insane about him#because i am.#i think niki needs more elaboration in game but im content to do a million elaborations myself because. fuck you.#anyway#sorry for using the read more all the time like 95% of my mutuals are bsd fans LMAO im trying not to clog dashboards#<- dont take this negatively bsd mutuals. personal quirk of myself. youre all fine.

Lost and Found: A Pirates Promise
Chapter 45: The Last Stand
This gif because Ichiji finally arrives to whole cake island
And this gif because Sanji in the next chapter is going to fight with luffy.
And this song because when we get to that final POV, which is Sanji's yall will feel it, when Y/N says it. Also this song is way to good LMFAO
A/N: and we are back at it again with another chapter! Yall, I have been going back and forth with some of the writing that I now have original drafts of some of the chapters. I felt inspired by some and others. I was like maybe this would work, to which I enjoyed so much that it has now been added. When I tell you, the changes, the angst, the betrayal, and everything is going to be wild! We got some Ichiji POV, Sanji POV, and Y/N POV. The ending tho.. so much hurt. Thank you guys so much for following, liking, reblogging, just following along with the fan fiction. I believe it's this chapter or the next one that has a few song lyrics that are spanish, but I translated it to english, I will add the song onto here so that way once you read it you’ll understand it. The song is called La Media Vuelta by Luis Miguel… and dont worry… there'll be more songs coming as well. We added that flair and AU to these bad boys, while also sticking to the anime pacing. And without further ado. Let the adventure begin!

Sanji x Reader, Sanji x Y/N, One piece X Reader
Y/N POV…
I watched as Nami kissed the vivre card, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Ohh, I like where this is going," I said, seeing the panic ripple through the homies as they sensed what was coming. Their eyes widened, full of fear. The power of Lola's vivre card was undeniable, and I couldn't help but grin.
"Didn't you hear what the tree said before that? The whole plan spilled right out!" I added, laughing at how things were turning in our favor. Pound, still trying to wrap his head around it, asked how exactly having the vivre card was going to help.
Nami, in all her brilliance, decided to use King Baum's voice to explain, mimicking his deep, trembly accent. I couldn't hold it in—I burst out laughing, wiping a tear from my eye. "Nami, stop!" I gasped, clutching my stomach. It was too much.
But the moment didn’t last long. Nami’s senses were sharp, and she turned her attention to Randolph and the stork, who were trying to sneak away. "Not so fast, you two!" she called out.
Randolph, the rabbit, immediately pointed to the stork. "Apologies, it was his idea!" he said, quick to throw his partner under the bus.
"He's lying!" the stork squawked, flustered.
Nami didn't let them off the hook so easily. "Here’s the deal—you forest creatures are going to be my loyal subjects from now on. Any questions?" she declared with an air of confidence. King Baum and Randolph started to protest, their voices shaky and unsure.
"Ohh, you wanna do this the hard way? Go ahead and try me," Nami challenged, her eyes gleaming with power. The homies quivered in fear. It was clear who was in control now.
"Listen up—here’s your first order. You guys go help Luffy!" Nami commanded, her voice ringing with authority. The homies, reluctant at first, began to murmur their protests.
"Well, are you going to argue, or are you going to help Luffy?!" Nami snapped, the vivre card glowing faintly in her hand. Its power over them was absolute, and they had no choice but to follow her orders.
"This vivre card is coming in pretty handy, if I do say so myself," Nami added with a smirk.
I grinned, nodding in agreement. "No kidding, you’ve got them wrapped around your finger," I said, watching the homies scramble to obey. The tables had turned in our favor, and now it was time to make our move.
The homies began to murmur among themselves, confusion evident on their faces. "Has anybody seen where that red-haired girl went? And the one with the bandana on her head?" they asked, their voices tinged with concern.
"Ohh, we're right here!" Nami chirped, a mischievous grin spreading across her face as we revealed ourselves inside King Baum's mouth. The tension in the air shifted, and I couldn't help but laugh at their bewilderment.
Nami raised Lola’s vivre card triumphantly. "I thought I told you to help out Luffy fighting Cracker," she said, her tone dripping with authority.
Pound was now lounging comfortably in one of King Baum's trunks, looking a bit too relaxed for my liking. "Have you seen him? He's pretty strong," the flower homie said, glancing nervously around.
"Like I care," Nami replied, her voice sharp. She looked at me, and we both shared a knowing grin. "Listen here and listen good—no matter how many of you wither, it won't bother us one bit."
The homies all gasped in shock, their eyes wide as they processed our words. The sheer audacity of our claim seemed to unsettle them.
"So you guys are afraid of General Cracker? What about Big Mom?" I taunted, feeling a surge of confidence.
Nami continued to hold the vivre card high, her determination unwavering. "Which one is scarier?" she asked, her voice playful yet commanding.
"You are!" the homies squeaked in unison, their faces pale with fear.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at their reaction. "See? Even they know not to mess with us," I said, feeling the exhilaration of our newfound power.
Nami winked at me, and we shared a moment of camaraderie. "Now, let's get back out there and show them what we can do!" she declared, her spirit infectious.
Ichiji POV…
We finally arrived at the Germa Kingdom after two days of travel. The moment the castle came into view, a sense of anticipation washed over me, but my thoughts were preoccupied with a little someone who wore a white dress—my fiancée, Y/N. She should be arriving at Whole Cake soon, I thought, excitement bubbling in my chest as the plan fell into motion.
My gaze flicked to the engagement ring nestled securely in its box, the diamonds glinting in the light. I stared at it, imagining how it would look on Y/N’s finger. I could almost see her beaming smile as I slipped it onto her hand, her eyes sparkling with surprise and joy. From the moment I first saw her fight, her fierce spirit ignited something deep inside me—an insatiable hunger that only she could satisfy. Even though our marriage was arranged, I was determined to claim her entirely, to make her mine in every way.
“Hey, Ichiji, still daydreaming about your little princess?” Niji teased, stepping off the ship beside me.
“Just mind your own business,” I shot back, though a small smile tugged at my lips. The cheers of Germa soldiers welcomed us as we entered the kingdom, their voices echoing in the air.
“Welcome back, Master Ichiji!” one soldier called, his enthusiasm infectious.
“Congratulations on your engagement!” another soldier shouted, and a swell of pride washed over me. The admiration of my comrades filled me with a sense of purpose. "You two are made for each other!" yelled another soldier, and I felt my chest swell at the thought. Whether Y/N wanted this marriage or not was no longer my concern, especially since we had something of hers hostage.
“Master Ichiji, Master Niji, it’s been a while!” another soldier chimed in, his voice brimming with excitement.
“I can’t believe they ended that long battle at Broc coli Island!” yelled a third, causing a wave of chatter to ripple through the crowd.
“Why isn’t he coming out to greet us? Where is he?” Niji asked, scanning the area for the failure of a brother, Sanji.
“Knock it off, Niji,” I replied, irritation creeping into my voice. The last thing I needed was to hear about Sanji right now.
As we made our way to the castle, I could feel the energy shifting, anticipation hanging thick in the air. “Hey, Dad! We’re back!” I called out, stepping into the dining room.
“Great work, Ichiji and you too, Niji!” our father boomed, his authoritative voice resonating in the grand hall as he sat on his throne, radiating an air of power and dominance. “Have the arrangements been made like I asked?” I inquired, my gaze fixed on one of the handmaids, an edge of command in my tone.
“Yes, young master. Allow me to bring in the paperwork for you,” she purred, the flattery grating on my nerves.
“Where is he?” Niji interrupted, scanning the room for our brother Sanji.
“Right here,” Reiju said, stepping in with Sanji trailing behind her.
“Sanji! Wow, you really didn’t die! Check you out,” Niji mocked, his laughter echoing through the hall. I remained composed, my expression unwavering as I focused on Sanji.
His eyes met mine, a storm of rage and disbelief swirling within them. “Don’t you want to congratulate Ichiji on his marriage to Princess Y/N? I know she’s your crewmate and all, but…” I laughed, enjoying the discomfort that hung in the air like a thick fog.
“Ichiji, have you gotten the chance to see her yet?” our father asked, genuine curiosity lighting up his features.
“Yes, I did,” I replied, letting the words flow smoothly, enjoying the moment. “I actually spotted her back in Chocolat town, wearing a short white dress.” The vivid image of Y/N in that dress ignited a fire within me, and I savored Sanji’s reaction. His tension was palpable, his fists clenching at his sides.
“She looked exquisite, like an angel among mere mortals,” I added, a smug grin spreading across my face. The frustration etched on Sanji's face was more than satisfying; it was intoxicating. I could almost taste the victory on my tongue.
“Have you told her yet?” Reiju interjected, the playful tone in her voice adding to the amusement.
“Not yet, but soon,” I said, savoring the anticipation that bubbled beneath the surface. “I want it to be unforgettable, something that’ll make her realize how fortunate she is.”
Sanji’s gaze hardened, his frustration boiling over. “Why are you so obsessed with this? It’s not what she wants!”
“Obsession? No, Sanji. It’s about claiming what’s rightfully mine,” I replied, a carefree air masking the hunger brewing inside me. “This is an arrangement, and she’ll learn to embrace it. I’ll make sure of that.”
Niji couldn't resist the chance to poke fun at Sanji. “Hahaha, looks like you got yourself a fancy gift. Shackles always did suit you; takes you back, doesn’t it?” he taunted, his laughter echoing through the dining room.
Sanji slapped Niji’s hand away, rising to his feet, his head held high, eyes blazing with indignation.
“Ichiji and Niji, you both must be exhausted from the trip. Why not grab something to eat?” our father interjected, a tone of authority in his voice that quelled the brewing tension.
After changing out of our raid suits and into our usual attire, I opted for a black long-sleeve shirt and a red cravat paired with white dress pants, feeling the weight of my responsibilities settle onto my shoulders. The lavish spread before us looked tempting, and we dove into the meal, savoring each bite.
“I’m sorry, young master, but here are the papers for you to review,” the handmaid from before said, approaching with a stack of documents.
“Good, you’re dismissed,” I replied, waving her away without a second thought. The others continued their banter, but I could sense Sanji’s eyes boring into me, filled with suppressed fury.
“What’s that?” Yonji asked, leaning closer, curiosity etched on his face.
I smirked, keeping my focus on the papers. “These are the arrangements I have planned for when my fiancée arrives,” I replied confidently. “Clothing stocked, shoes stocked, wine stocked, flowers stocked… and her dresses for the events, one of which is the lunch with Big mom.” I paused for effect, allowing the anticipation to build in the room.
“The pale yellow halter dress, openback with a high slit for her left thigh,” I continued, relishing the moment. “Perfect for the lunch” My eyes flicked up to Sanji, who was gritting his teeth, his expression a mix of disbelief and frustration as he chewed through the meal.
“What do you think? Isn’t it exquisite?” I asked, the teasing lilt in my voice as I enjoyed his reaction.
“Exquisite? More like tasteless,” Sanji snapped, glaring at me.
“Jealousy doesn’t suit you, brother,” I shot back, leaning back in my chair, basking in the warmth of my triumph. “I’m just looking out for her. After all, it’s not every day you get to dress up a princess, right?”
“Maybe she’d prefer someone who actually cares about her feelings,” he muttered, trying to maintain his composure.
Reiju, who had been listening quietly, leaned forward, her interest piqued. “Ichiji, can I see the ring?”
Reiju leaned forward, her curiosity piqued as I pulled out the engagement ring from my pocket. The brilliance of the diamonds sparkled under the light, but it was the deep red ruby nestled in the center that truly caught her eye.
“Wow, it’s beautiful,” she remarked, inspecting the ring closely. The ruby glinted like a captured flame, drawing attention to its significance. “She’ll love it. But will she love you?”
I shrugged, confidence radiating from me. “She will come to love me. I’ll make sure of it. This is just the beginning.”
The glint in Sanji’s eyes darkened as he shot back, “You can’t force love, Ichiji. She deserves someone who truly cares for her.”
“Of course, and that someone is me,” I countered, relishing the challenge. “Soon, everyone will see how perfect we are together.”
My father straightened in his seat, the air thick with authority as he began to discuss the fall of the Bro Coli regime due to Doflamingo not supplying them weapons, since he was defeated, a significant victory for our family. “And as I last recall, Ichiji, didn’t your fiancée face Doflamingo, even defeating one of his top executives?” he said, pride glimmering in his eyes.
“Yes, she’s impressive,” I replied, a sense of satisfaction swelling within me. I couldn’t help but feel drawn to her fierce spirit even more with every mention of her strength.
Yonji took another bite of his bread, his smirk deepening as he continued, "If she's anything like she was when we first saw her during that broadcast, then I definitely should've called dibs first." His words carried an edge, but the real sting came next. "And if she's anything like what I just saw—wearing that short blue skirt and cropped tank back on that ship, showing off that body—man, I really should’ve made a move sooner."
I turned to Yonji, my patience running thin. "Watch your mouth," I said with a sharpness that wiped the smirk from his face. "She's still my fiancée, and I won’t tolerate any disrespect toward her."
He raised his hands in mock surrender, though his eyes still twinkled with amusement. "Alright, alright. Just saying—"
"You’ve said enough," I interrupted, my voice low and deadly.
Sanji, who had been quiet until now, shot up, his eyes widening. “Wait, what broadcast?” His voice was tight, filled with both confusion and anger.
Yonji laughed, clearly enjoying the tension in the air. "Oh, you didn’t know? Back at Punk Hazard, Ichiji here couldn’t keep his eyes off her when she fought that bird woman. It was a hell of a fight." He chuckled again. “He was practically drooling over the screen.”
Sanji’s face twisted in fury. “So you’ve been watching her this whole time?” he growled, stepping closer, fists clenched. "You bastards were the damn brokers keeping tabs on her!"
I didn’t flinch as Sanji’s anger erupted. Instead, I leaned back, my smirk widening. “Of course, Sanji. You didn’t think we’d ignore someone as... valuable as her, did you? After all, she’s soon to be part of the Vinsmoke family.”
Sanji’s face flushed with rage, his hands shaking as he fought to contain himself. “You don’t have the right to call her that,” he spat, barely keeping his voice steady, his fury palpable. "She’s not yours."
“Right or wrong, it doesn’t matter,” I shot back, enjoying the tension in the room. “She’s mine now. And once she’s here, you’ll have to get used to it.”
The anticipation of her arrival and the subsequent confrontation hung in the air like a storm cloud, and I couldn’t wait to see how she would handle it.
“Bear this in mind: the power we will be gaining is tremendous! The power of Germa will strengthen!” my father declared, his voice booming with authority and excitement. It was rare to see him this animated, and I could feel a swell of pride in my chest.
Niji leaned back in his chair, a smirk plastered on his face. “You should be honored, Sanji, since you’re marrying one of Big Mom’s daughters. Who would have predicted you’d come in handy?” The jab was sharp, intended to provoke, and I could see Sanji’s jaw clench, a mix of defiance and anger simmering just beneath the surface.
“There's still food on your plate, don’t waste it, Niji,” Sanji said, trying to keep his cool despite the tension.
“This? Yeah, I’m done—not hungry,” Niji retorted, pushing his plate away in mock disgust.
“Finish it! You don’t know the value of food, you stuck-up prince!” Sanji snapped back, his eyes blazing with indignation.
“Shut the hell up!” Niji fired back, clearly irritated. He waved his hand, calling over the head chef, Cossette. “This vile slop you served us caused my brother to upset me!” His voice dripped with disdain as he held up the dish, ready to hurl it.
Before Niji could throw it, Sanji sprang up, his anger reaching its peak. “You low-life bastard! Are you trying to leave a scar on a lady's face?” he yelled, stepping between Niji and Cossette.
Sanji POV..
I couldn’t stand these arrogant bastards. The way they carried themselves, like they owned the world, made my blood boil. But what stoked the flames of my fury even more was the fact that Ichiji was using Y/N, my darling princess, my fiancée (a lie, but it gave me a sense of grounding), as a pawn in his twisted game. And to make matters worse, Niji almost hit Cossette! A woman! Was he trying to scar her face?
“Huh, a lady?” Niji scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. “How stupid are you defending a kitchen wench?” He grinned as if relishing the chaos.
I crouched down, looking at the food that was now strewn across the floor. “Now there’s food all over the floor,” I said, eyeing the mess.
“It’s called aligot,” I said, “and it’s made with cheese blended with mashed potatoes. Potatoes are very nutritious. I assume this fine concoction, due to your noble status, was chosen for you—a fine course for breakfast.” I shoved a spoonful into my mouth, relishing the rich flavors.
“Don’t, Master Sanji! Royal blood mustn’t eat off the floor!” Cossette chimed in beside me, her voice a mixture of concern and urgency.
“The flavor is impeccable,” I muttered, still chewing.
“Poverty has done a number on you, Sanji! Don’t taint our bloodline!” Niji spat, advancing toward me, fists clenched. Just as he was about to land a hit, I locked eyes with him.
“Think of the wedding! Stop!” Father’s voice cut through the tension, and Niji halted his strike, though his rage simmered beneath the surface.
“I’m embarrassed to even be related to you! Disrespecting food is one thing, but raising your hand to a woman is sick!” I said, my gaze now directed toward Ichiji. “And forcing a woman into a marriage she didn’t want is vile!”
“Just because you’re stuck-up princes doesn’t mean you can treat women like dirt!” I shouted, feeling the heat rising in my chest. “Everything you guys do goes against my principles.”
“Oh, Sanji, your head is tainted by the ideologies of the weak! Ever since we were children, your thinking has been incomprehensible! Royalty abides by its own set of rules; you’re out of touch,” Ichiji retorted, his voice dripping with condescension.
“The last thing I want to hear is something out of your mouth!” I yelled back, my anger boiling over.
“Could it be that your ideologies were tainted by this man?” Father interjected, holding up a picture of Zeff, his eyes glinting with malicious intent.
“Big Mom’s information network is impressive,” he continued. “I believe this is a recent photo. Is something wrong? You’re turning white as a ghost,” he taunted.
My eyes widened in horror as the realization sank in.
“In other words, this is just a precaution. I won’t hesitate to relieve this man of his head if you don’t abide by the terms,” he said, his voice low and threatening.
“I wouldn’t do anything drastic if I were you. Forget your friends, accept your marriage to Pudding quietly, and let the princess marry Ichiji. Do that, and everything will work out just fine.”
Panic surged through me as my mind flashed back to the moment Zeff saved me when I was only eight years old, pulling me from the depths of despair, the Baratie, my first real home. His life was on the line now, just like King’s and all of Y/N’s loved ones were at risk. And here I was, completely powerless.
We were both stuck, and there was nothing I could do to stop this.
“Let’s have a peaceful wedding ceremony,” Father said, his voice as cold and commanding as ever. “We will be having lunch with Big Mom and Pudding today, so go get ready shortly.” His eyes glinted with expectation as he leaned back, fully confident in his control over the situation. “Any objections, Sanji?” he added, a subtle smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, daring me to speak up.
I stood there, fists clenched at my sides, staring down at the floor as a storm of emotions churned inside me. Anger, frustration, helplessness—they all threatened to boil over, but what could I say? What could I do that wouldn’t put Zeff, Y/N, and everyone I cared about in danger?
My head bowed in defeat, the weight of everything crashing down on me. Zeff’s life hung in the balance, Y/N was being manipulated, and I was being pushed into a corner with no way out. All for the sake of some twisted family plan to strengthen Germa and align with Big Mom.
Now, I’m faced with another dilemma, and believe me when I say—I truly hate it here. This isn’t my family. These people, with their arrogance and cruelty, they’ve never been my family. I left them behind a long time ago. But here I am, shackled to them once again, powerless to protect the people I love.
All I want is to escape this nightmare. But for now, I have no choice but to play along. For Zeff. For Y/N. I grit my teeth and prepare for the charade to continue.
Y/N POV..
We finally made it to where Luffy was, just in time to see Kingbaum slam into General Cracker. "That went better than expected! Kingbaum, Luffy! Are you okay?" Nami asked with concern, glancing back at Luffy as we all tried to catch our breath.
"Luffy, you alright?" I echoed, worry filling my voice.
“Nami, Y/N… I need time to recover from Bounce Man,” Luffy replied, his voice weak and strained.
“What?” Nami asked, wide-eyed.
“Luffy needs at least ten minutes to regain his strength. Bounce Man always takes a lot out of him," I explained, remembering the toll it had taken on him during his battle against Doflamingo back in Dressrosa.
“Alright, I’ll look after you until you rest up,” Nami said as she turned to the homies. “You! Bring Luffy to us and protect him until ten minutes have passed.”
“You gotta do what she commands, homies!” Kingbaum ordered.
The homies quickly dragged Luffy up to us. “Thanks, guys,” Luffy muttered weakly.
“Don’t thank us yet; save your energy,” Nami urged, her voice tight as we heard General Cracker approaching once again.
“That’s our cue, let’s go!” Nami shouted as Kingbaum picked up the pace, trying to get away from Cracker.
“I feel so ashamed!” Kingbaum wept as he lumbered forward.
“Let’s try not to get caught! Pick up the pace!” Nami urged, her voice tense.
“Son of a birch!” Kingbaum cursed. "He's gonna catch up! Can’t you go any faster?” Nami yelled, panic rising in her voice.
“How many minutes have passed?” I asked, my eyes scanning the dense forest ahead.
“Not even the full ten!” Nami replied, clearly agitated.
“Let’s speed it up, you guys!” Nami commanded.
Suddenly, Kingbaum stopped dead in his tracks. “Why’d we stop?” I asked, immediately on alert.
“Who’s this guy?!” Nami cried out, her voice filled with fear as the homies trembled around us.
The homies murmured in terror, “That’s… General Cracker!”
“You mean to tell me General Cracker isn’t an actual biscuit cracker?” I said, half in disbelief.
“That’s not the point!” Nami snapped as we found ourselves surrounded by Cracker’s biscuit soldiers once more.
Cracker grinned menacingly. “Hmm, so humor me, Kingbaum. Want to explain why you’re helping the Straw Hats?” he asked, his voice dripping with mockery.
“Well… you see, I…,” Kingbaum stammered in fear before Cracker sliced off the top of his trunk in one swift motion.
“Ahhh!” Kingbaum howled in pain.
“I’ll just kill you all instead,” Cracker declared coldly as several homies fell, lifeless, around us.
“This guy is scary…” Nami muttered under her breath.
“You surprised? I’m one of the Sweet Three Generals,” Cracker said, pride in his voice.
“Nami, leave this one to me,” I said firmly, my resolve hardening. "I’ll buy us some time."
I reached up and tightened Zoro’s bandana around my head, feeling a sense of comfort in its presence, as if Zoro’s fighting spirit were with me. The fabric hugged my forehead like a protective charm, giving me the focus I needed for the battle ahead. I drew my sword, my fingers gripping the hilt as I pressed the blue gemstone embedded in its handle. A powerful surge of energy pulsed through my veins, different this time—cool and fierce. Ice began to spread over the blade, glistening with blue electricity crackling along its edges.
“Nami, make sure the homies protect Luffy, okay?” I said, my voice steady as I stepped forward to face Cracker.
Cracker grinned, clearly entertained. “And who might you be?” he sneered.
I clenched my left hand, feeling the power surging within me. Without hesitation, I leaped into the air, my blade radiating with frost and lightning.
“Ice Shards!” I cried out, channeling the ice energy in my blade, releasing a barrage of sharp, freezing projectiles that sliced through the air with deadly precision.
The shards spun through the air like frozen stars, aimed directly at Cracker, shattering his biscuit soldiers on contact.
I smirked, stepping forward with confidence. “I’m sure by now you know who I am,” I said, tilting my head, amusement in my tone.
Cracker smirked back, clearly unfazed. “You’re Princess Y/N from the Straw Hat Pirates,” he said coldly.
“In the flesh,” I responded with a mock bow, adding a bit of flair for good measure.
“You think you can humor me with your games?!” Cracker snarled, clearly annoyed.
“Humor? Maybe,” I teased, “but I’m also here to kick your ass.” I straightened up, my eyes narrowing as Cracker clapped his hands, summoning another pair of biscuit soldiers.
“Why not just face me yourself? Forget the biscuits,” I challenged as one of the soldiers lunged at me. I reacted quickly, doing a one-handed backflip, using the momentum to lift my right leg and crack the biscuit soldier's hardened exterior with a single blow.
“Now,” I said, smirking even wider, “are you ready to fight for real? Or are you compensating for something?”
“You’ve definitely been around Zoro way too long, Y/N!” Nami yelled from behind, exasperated.
I chuckled, glancing back at her briefly. “Maybe I have… or maybe it’s his lucky bandana I’m wearing.” I tugged at the bandana tied around my forehead with a wink before turning my full attention back to Cracker.
The electricity and ice continued to course through my blade, the tension rising as Cracker’s grin faded into a more serious expression. This fight was only just beginning.
Cracker’s smirk turned sinister as he eyed me. “Are you sure Straw Hat can’t back you up? Pretty foolish of you to attack me on your own,” he taunted.
I met his gaze without flinching. “I have a duty to protect my captain. If he’s down and I gotta step up, then so be it,” I said with determination. A smirk tugged at the corner of my lips. “Besides, it looks to me like you’re all talk and no action, biscuits.”
Cracker’s eyes darkened, his grin disappearing. “Kill her,” he commanded, his voice cold and deadly.
As the two biscuit soldiers lunged at me, their swords gleaming in the sunlight, I leaped into the air, dodging their attack with ease. While suspended mid-air, I tightened my grip on my sword and swung it with precision, summoning the power imbued within.
"King, I hope this is what you had in mind when teaching me this technique," I whispered to myself, my heart pounding with adrenaline.
"Ice Fang!" I shouted, feeling the blade's cold energy surge forward. A wave of sharp, icy spikes shot out from my sword, racing toward the biscuit soldiers. The ice spread across their bodies, freezing them solid in a matter of seconds.
Landing gracefully, I straightened up and smirked. The frozen soldiers stood motionless for a moment before they shattered into a thousand pieces with a loud crack, scattering across the battlefield.
My gaze shifted back to Cracker, who was now glaring at me with fury.
"You’re gonna have to do better than biscuits," I said, confident as ever, gripping my sword tighter. Suddenly, a biscuit soldier appeared behind me, catching me off guard. I faltered for a moment but quickly dodged as another one emerged from the ground. Cracker now stood tall, smirking.
"Not bad, you're rather quick on your feet," Cracker remarked. Before I could react, he appeared behind me. "But you left your back wide open!" He swung his sword, but I managed to block his attack, tumbling from the force. I scrambled to my feet, meeting his gaze.
"Is that son of Germa really that important to you?" he taunted.
"You don’t get it," I snapped, standing firm. "Sanji may be a lot of things, but he’s one of a kind. And if the roles were reversed, he would do everything in his power to protect us!"
"Touchy," Cracker sneered, laughing.
"Are we going to talk, or are you actually going to do something?" I shot back, smirking. "Again, not a good look for you, Mr. Overcompensating."
"I’m not too fond of pain," Cracker growled, lunging at me. "But I doubt you can stop me anyway!"
Switching my sword from my right to my left hand, I clenched my left fist and dashed past him, taunting, "Over here!" He spun around, but I dashed once more, using the momentum to strike. Clenching my right hand this time, I punched him in the abdomen, sending him flying a few feet away. I breathed heavily, trying to steady myself.
Cracker recovered quickly, lunging at me again. I raised my sword to block his attack, but his strikes were relentless, forcing me to fall back with each blow.
"You're quite a feisty one, aren’t you?" he said, amused.
"So I've been told," I muttered, struggling to catch my breath.
"Marriage or not," Cracker grinned, "I think I’m going to take my sweet time killing you." He raised his sword, preparing to strike.
Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out. "Don’t you touch her!" Cracker was sent flying, crashing into the ground. Luffy stood there, glaring at him.
"Y/N is part of my crew!" Luffy declared. I let out a sigh of relief, collapsing onto my back for a brief moment.
"Sorry I took so long," Luffy said, flashing me a smile.
I got up and smiled back at him. "It's fine, biscuits all yours."
With a graceful leap, I landed back inside King Baum’s mouth. Nami immediately hugged me tightly.
"You scared me back there!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling.
"Sorry about that, Nami," I said softly, placing my sword behind me and falling to my knees, feeling the weight of the battle finally catch up to me.
"Cocky punk, it does take a lot of nerve to pick a fight with Mama," Cracker sneered, glaring at Luffy.
"Hey Nami, Y/N, have the trees protect you," Luffy said, never taking his eyes off Cracker. Nami nodded confidently, pulling out Lola’s Vivre Card with a grin, knowing it would render the homies powerless.
Cracker’s expression darkened. "Those traitorous trees and your friends are next, of course."
But Luffy wasn’t paying attention to Cracker's threats. Instead, his focus was on the burnt biscuits littering the battlefield. "That smells good," he muttered, his stomach growling.
"They’re still food!" Luffy’s eyes lit up. "Then that makes it easy!"
Nami smirked and pulled out a Weather Egg. "Rain Spark!" she called, unleashing rain from the sky. The biscuit soldiers, hard and durable, quickly softened under the downpour.
"I get it—you soften the biscuits!" I exclaimed, realizing Nami’s plan.
With the biscuits softened, Luffy wasted no time. He began tearing into them, eating each one with fervor as Cracker summoned more.
Cracker clapped his hands, summoning a fresh wave of biscuit soldiers, but they were no match for the hungry pirate. "Yum, these are good," Luffy said, his mouth full, barely slowing down between bites.
"That son of a birch is eating the biscuits!" Kingbaum exclaimed in disbelief. Every time Cracker created new soldiers, Luffy devoured them just as quickly.
"What is with this guy?!" Cracker yelled, frustration evident as Luffy ate the biscuits faster than they could attack.
"Luffy, let's fall back for a sec," Nami suggested, trying to pull him away from the endless biscuits.
"No way, I’m eating them all," Luffy replied stubbornly, his face determined.
Nami smirked, knowing exactly how to get his attention. "What if I told you I can make them more delicious?"
Luffy's eyes widened with excitement. "More delicious?! Let’s go!" He immediately followed us, dragging the biscuit soldiers along with him.
Minutes passed, and Luffy had eaten every biscuit Cracker could produce, leaving the Sweet General visibly rattled.
"Luffy is really putting in the work," I said to Nami, watching in awe as Luffy continued to devour the endless biscuit army.
"When it comes to food, there’s no stopping him," Nami laughed.
"You little punk!" Cracker shouted, incredulous. "How are you still eating?!"
"How much more can his stomach take?" Kingbaum whispered in disbelief. "He’s going to explode!"
"Looks like Cracker is starting to wear out," I said to Nami, eyeing the Sweet Commander as his exhaustion began to show. His movements were sluggish, and the frustration on his face was undeniable.
"As for you, King Baum," Cracker growled, his tone dripping with malice, "Mama is going to be furious about your betrayal."
He turned his attention back to me, his expression twisted with irritation. "This would’ve been over long ago if you hadn’t saved that insufferable woman," he sneered, clearly referring to me.
"My biscuit warriors are supposed to be invincible!" he yelled in frustration, pacing angrily. "And now look! That orange-haired girl reduced them into—into yummy crunchy goodness!" His voice cracked as he tried to keep up his pride.
I couldn’t help but smirk, taking full advantage of his moment of weakness. "Again with the biscuits," I said, stepping forward confidently. "You’re really overcompensating for something, Cracker. It’s okay to admit you can’t perform... well," I added with a teasing smile, placing my hand on the bandana Zoro had given me, now tied around my head. "Maybe it’s just not your day."
Cracker’s face flushed with anger as he gritted his teeth. "You insolent—"
"Stop your whining! This is a pirate battle!" Nami interrupted with a fierce glare. "So what if I found out your weakness? It doesn't mean you can take it out on my underlings!"
I burst out laughing. "Ooooh, underlings! Y'all just got dropped a tier, homies!" I teased, wiping away fake tears of laughter.
"What?! Underlings! Is that what we’re reduced to now?!" one of the homies exclaimed in disbelief.
"Is that a problem?" Nami asked coolly, waving Lola's Vivre Card in her hand.
"No, ma’am!" the homies responded, shrinking back under the power of the card.
Meanwhile, Luffy continued to stuff his face with biscuits, much to Cracker’s horror. "So you’re finally full!" Cracker shouted, desperate to end the madness.
"He’s just getting started!" Nami retorted, though even she was starting to look concerned. Luffy's belly was swollen beyond comprehension.
"Nami, he looks like he’s going to pop," I said, half concerned, half in awe of Luffy’s appetite.
"There’s no way he can eat more!" the homies yelled, eyes wide with shock.
"I don’t need you to throw up to win this!" Cracker bellowed, rushing toward Luffy with his sword raised. "I’ll slice you up!"
"Careful, Luffy!" I yelled, gripping my sword.
But Luffy, grinning from ear to ear, was unfazed. "Joke's on you! I’m stuffed with power! Muscle Balloon!" Luffy shouted, inflating his body further by blowing into his arm, swelling to an enormous size.
"What the hell?" Cracker stammered, suddenly backing away, realizing too late what was about to happen.
"Fourth Gear, go!" Luffy declared, his body transforming into an even bigger, more intimidating form. "I call this Tank Man: Stuffed Version!"
Cracker attempted to slash at Luffy, but his attack did nothing to the hulking form. "You’ve pushed me over the edge! It’s over—time to die!" Cracker screamed in frustration, trying desperately to land a blow on Luffy.
Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light. Nami and I shielded our eyes. "Luffy!" we shouted, worried.
When the light faded, Cracker was being sucked into Luffy’s massive form. "Gomu Gomu no Cannonball!" Luffy roared, launching Cracker far into the distance, his biscuit soldiers crumbling into pieces.
"He did it!" Nami and I screamed in unison, hugging each other in excitement.
"Luffy, you alright?" Nami asked as we rushed over to him.
"Uh-huh," he groaned, clearly exhausted but triumphant.
"It looks like you’re shrinking," Nami observed, noticing Luffy’s body deflating slowly.
"That’s because Fourth Gear uses a lot of energy," Luffy explained, his voice tired but still full of satisfaction. He lay back, too full to move.
Suddenly, from behind a tree, Pound stepped out. "So, there you are!" Nami exclaimed.
"Pound! You were hiding this whole time?!" I yelled, shaking my head in disbelief.
"Kind of... I ran away so Cracker wouldn't kill me. I for sure thought you were going to lose," said Pound, rubbing his neck nervously.
"Wow, such faith," I said, rolling my eyes at his bluntness.
"Kind of blunt, don’t you think?" Nami added with a sigh.
"That was scary... but we won!" Nami exclaimed, her face lighting up with a grin as we both laughed and cheered in victory.
We glanced over at King Baum, Pound, and the other homies, who weren't exactly celebrating. "Would it kill you to cheer? We beat one of Big Mom's top fighters, after all!" Nami shouted, hands on her hips.
Pound, still looking frantic, responded, "Listen, you're in much more trouble than before! Once Mama's rage is awakened, there's no stopping her! In other words, you need to get the heck out of here before she finds out what you did to her boys!"
"She can get as mad as she wants; I don’t care! I’m the one who should be mad here!" Luffy grumbled from the ground, still too full to move. "How could Sanji leave without telling us why? All we got is a dumb note!"
"You're right, Captain," I said, feeling the frustration boil up inside me. "I'mma knock some sense into him for writing me that note and saying we were engaged!" My voice was laced with annoyance, fists clenched as I thought about the situation.
Nami smirked at me, her frustration mirroring mine. "Honestly, what was he thinking?" she muttered under her breath.
"We only made it this far using Pudding’s map, and no one has seen Pekoms," said Luffy. "We should have gotten Sanji by now, but he didn’t show up at the coast. I don’t know if they got lost or if this is a trap. Once Sanji gets married, he'll be part of Big Mom's crew, and it'll be too late. We have to get moving!"
Luffy, still struggling to get up from the ground, groaned in determination. "Cracker did say there was a ceremony today." "It’s still morning; we might have enough time to stop them!" Nami said, a glimmer of hope in her voice.
"Hey, tree! You know where the castle is?" Luffy called out.
King Baum hesitated before replying, "Yes…"
"Good, you're carrying me there!" Luffy declared with renewed energy.
"I refus—" King Baum started, but quickly clammed up when Nami pulled out the vivre card with a threatening smile.
"We’re taking Sanji back and stopping your wedding, Y/N," Luffy said firmly, his voice full of resolve.
"Oh, Y/N, here’s your bag," Nami said, suddenly remembering. She handed me my satchel, and I grinned.
"Thanks, Nami," I said, relieved to have it back. I pressed all three gemstones on my sword, watching as it shrunk before placing one of the blades inside the bag, the other securely fastened to my thigh halter.
With a final glance at the others, I gave a confident nod. "Alright, I’m ready."
Sanji POV…
As I entered the chariot, my heart felt heavier with every passing second. My mind raced, torn between the decision I was being forced to make and the things I truly cherished. Everything I loved… it was slipping away. The thought of being married made me sick to my core, but what choice did I have? If I wanted to save my friends... if I wanted to keep Zeff safe… if I wanted to keep y/n safe… I had no other option. This wasn’t just about me anymore.
I clenched my fists, the cursed bracelets around my wrists reminding me that my hands—my livelihood—were at stake. No matter what I wanted, one wrong move, and they’d be gone forever. I couldn’t even protect Y/N. I couldn’t stop Ichiji from marrying her. The memories flooded in—the Baratie, Zeff’s tough love, the day I met Y/N, her smile, our adventures with the crew. Every moment felt so distant now, as if they were slipping from my grasp, just like her.
Stuck between Niji and Yonji, I couldn’t move. Their smug faces on either side of me made my blood boil. I knew if I tried to make a break for it, they'd be on me in seconds, and the bracelets would do the rest of the damage. They’d already proven that.
Y/N POV..
"Well, we’re finally out of that hell of a forest," I sighed, resting my back on King Baum’s head as we moved through the open area. Luffy was resting as well, while Nami sat beside him, trying to catch her breath.
Suddenly, a familiar voice called out, "Nami! You guys! Can you hear me?!"
"It’s Chopper!" Nami exclaimed, holding up a small glass shard, which Chopper's voice came through. Relief and tension both surged through me. At least Chopper was okay.
"We’ve got a big problem! It’s Sanji! He’s heading to Big Mom right now!" Chopper’s frantic words echoed.
“Crap!” I muttered under my breath, heart pounding.
"We’re heading to the castle too!" Nami responded quickly, trying to gather more information.
"What about Brook and Pedro?" I asked, the worry creeping in. We hadn’t heard from them at all, and I couldn’t help but feel a gnawing anxiety over their safety.
"We haven’t heard from them at all," Nami added, glancing at me with shared concern.
Suddenly, Chopper’s voice broke into panic, his screams growing louder before the shard shattered in Nami’s hand.
“Is everything alright, Chopper?!” I yelled, but it was no use. The shard was broken. I stared at the pieces on the ground, feeling helpless. "How are they going to communicate now?" I muttered.
Nami knelt down, picking up one of the broken shards. "I hope they’re okay," she whispered softly.
"Poor Sanji..." Nami added, her voice filled with sorrow.
“These bastards have got another thing coming, that’s for sure,” I said through gritted teeth, clenching my right hand as I felt the familiar red electricity surge through me, a fierce wave of anger rolling over me.
Luffy, now back to normal size after shrinking down, muttered in his sleep, "Give me meat."
Nami and I exchanged amused glances. "Meat?!" I chuckled, shaking my head. "He would have meat dreams after eating those biscuits."
"Hey there! You’ve got good luck!" King Baum’s voice broke through, as he picked up speed.
"Why is that?" Nami asked.
"There they are," King Baum replied, pointing ahead.
"What?!" I exclaimed, my heart racing as I leaned forward.
"That’s Germa 66," he said, his voice filled with urgency.
“Is Sanji with them?” Luffy asked as he suddenly woke up, leaping off King Baum’s head and running ahead.
“Luffy, wait!” Nami yelled, but it was too late. He was already off.
"Sanji!" Nami and I shouted, waving as we saw him up ahead.
But just as we got close, Sanji… he kicked Luffy.
"Sanji, what the heck’s gotten into you?!" Nami screamed, her voice filled with shock.
"Sanji..." I whispered, my heart dropping as I stared at him in disbelief. What had happened to him? Why was he acting this way?
"Leave my sight, you bunch of lowlife pirates," Sanji spat, his voice cold and unrecognizable. "Make no mistake, I’ve always been a Vinsmoke, which makes me a prince of the Germa Kingdom."
I tensed, my mind reeling. "What the hell is he saying?" I whispered, feeling both disbelief and frustration boiling inside me. Both Nami and I stood frozen, watching the scene unfold before us.
Sanji continued, "I kept all of this a secret because knowing this would’ve made things harder for you."
I couldn’t take it anymore. Standing up, I slowly took off Zoro’s bandana from my head, folding it carefully and placing it into my satchel, along with one of my blades and my sword. "Nami, I leave this with you," I said, my voice steady but filled with determination.
“What are you…?” Nami looked at me, confused and concerned.
"Just make sure no one takes it, please. And if they do… well, they’ll be in for a surprise," I added, smirking slightly despite the weight of the moment. "Can you do that for me, Nami?" I asked, looking at her intently, knowing this was something important for me to trust her with.
Nami nodded, still looking unsure of my next move. Before I could even say anything more, Sanji's voice cut through the air like a blade.
"It’s noble of you to come all the way over here and get me, but you’ve wasted your time. I’m not leaving. I’ve already forgotten your name," he said coldly, every word sharper than the last.
His words felt like a punch in the gut, fueling the anger already burning inside me. My heart pounded in my chest, disbelief turning to frustration and rage. This wasn’t the Sanji I knew, the Sanji who cared about his friends, about us.
“What a liar,” Luffy yelled, his frustration matching my own. “You think I’m gonna buy that?!”
The tension in the air was suffocating, and I could feel the red electricity sparking through my fingertips again. My patience was at its limit. Sanji's words cut deep, but I wasn’t about to let him walk away so easily, especially not with those lies.
Sanji POV… (Play La Media Vuelta By Luis Miguel here)
Stuck between Niji and Yonji, I felt like I was trapped in a cage. Their smug expressions were infuriating, and my blood boiled at the sight of them. I knew any attempt to escape would be met with swift punishment, and these cursed bracelets would make sure of that. Just the thought of them made my fists clench tighter.
Suddenly, a familiar voice broke through the chaos. "Hey! Sanji!" I turned my head, eyes widening in disbelief as I saw Luffy charging forward with with a giant tree.
“that idiot managed to make it to Whole Cake Island?! “What’s with that tree?!” yelled Yonji, incredulous.
"Sanji!" Nami called out, waving her arms with a look of determination. “We finally made it! I was afraid we’d be too late!”
Her voice sent a jolt of relief through me, but it quickly faded when I noticed the way Niji and Yonji's eyes lit up at the sight of y/n. Their smugness only grew, and the protective instinct within me flared.
“There’s my beloved,” Ichiji said, his eyes heart-shaped as he gazed at Y/N, which made my blood boil even more.
“Ichiji, your wife’s here,” Yonji added, still eyeing Y/N, and I wanted nothing more than to gauge their eyes out for the way they were looking at her.
The situation felt like a ticking time bomb. I had to keep them safe. “What are they doing here?” I muttered, panic rising in my throat.
“How amusing, that’s Straw Hat Luffy,” Judge remarked, his voice dripping with disdain.
“Hey! We came here to pick you up!” Luffy shouted, tipping over the calicoat as he stumbled. “You said you’d be back, but I didn’t want to wait. You know me. I was going to come with just Y/N, but it turned into a whole thing!”
My mind raced, battling between relief and fear. I couldn’t let them get caught up in this mess. I glanced at my cuffs, knowing that if I made a break for it, they would explode, and I couldn’t risk that.
“Zoro took a team and headed to the land of Wano,” Luffy continued, unaware of the suffocating tension surrounding us.
“And what’s this I hear? You’re engaged to Y/N! Why didn’t you tell us? We could have done something back at the Sunny!” His words hit me like a wave of ice-cold water.
Luffy, Y/N, Nami… please forgive me… I thought, the weight of my helplessness crushing down on me. In an instant, I made my decision. I couldn’t let them get any closer to this danger.
“Sanji, what the heck’s gotten into you?!” Nami shouted, disbelief etched across her face. I could see the hurt in her eyes, and it twisted my heart even more.
“Leave my sight, you bunch of low-class pirates!” I spat, my voice heavy with disdain. “Make no mistake, I’ve always been a Vinsmoke, which makes me a prince of the Germa Kingdom. I kept all this a secret from you because knowing this would have made things harder.”
Luffy’s stunned expression made me feel even worse, but I pushed on. “As you can see, there’s a clear difference in our standings now. If I stay here, I’ll have all the servants, soldiers, and riches I could ever dream of.” Each word felt like daggers in my chest, but I had to make them believe I meant it.
The way Nami flinched at my words was like a punch to the gut. I was losing them—losing everything I cared about. But I had to protect them. I had to protect Y/N, even if it meant sacrificing my own heart.
“Sanji…” I heard Y/N whisper, her voice cracking as she processed my betrayal. I couldn't look at her; I was afraid of what I might see. Would she understand? Would she forgive me for playing this role?
Inside, I was trembling. I was stuck between wanting to protect them and the cold, harsh reality of my situation. “If I stay here, I’ll have all the servants, soldiers, and riches I could ever dream of. What more could I want?” I sneered, my voice laced with disdain.
“So I could go to that crappy ship with you and your friends and go on a dumb adventure,” I sneered, forcing a smirk that felt more like a grimace. “Or I can stay right here and marry the beautiful daughter of a wealthy and powerful emperor. Now, which of those would make me happier?” I took a deep breath, preparing to drive the final nail in the coffin. “Here, I’ll spell it out: I just wrote that note to get you off my back.”
“Yeah? Well, what about my note, Sanji?” The voice was unmistakable, cutting through the tension like a knife. Y/N came down from the tree, her eyes ablaze with anger. If looks could kill, I’d be dead by now.
“You wrote some bold statements on my note. Here, I even have it.” She pulled it out from her chest, and my heart sank. I couldn’t bear to look at her, knowing I had shattered everything.
As she stood there, I took in her appearance for the first time. Behind the rage, I could see the signs of her struggle. Her white dress was covered in dirt, her sleeve torn off, and deep scratches marred her legs. But she still looked beautiful—my princess, my everything.
“Y/N, I’m sorry for what I’m about to say,” I thought, wishing I could take it all back. I wanted to hold her, to tell her it was all a lie, that I would never marry Pudding. I wanted to confess how I felt about her, to explain that her reckless plan—her being in Dressrosa and me sailing here—almost cost me my sanity.
I wanted to tell her she was the only one I wanted to be with, that I regretted every moment I didn’t fight for her. I wanted to prove I was the man she deserved, especially after that disaster back on Fishman Island.
But instead, I clenched my fists and said the words that would cut deeper than any blade: “You mean absolutely nothing to me.”
Every syllable felt like poison as it left my mouth, and I hated myself for it. I saw her expression shift, hurt washing over her features. It was a look I knew I’d never forget. But I had to keep my distance, keep her safe. And as much as it broke me, I had to see this through.
“You mean absolutely nothing to me,” I repeated, my voice cold, the words feeling like shards of glass in my throat.
Nami’s voice cut through the tension like a lightning bolt. “Say the truth, Sanji! That wasn’t what you said to Pudding!”
The air around us grew thick with tension, and I could see Y/N tense at Nami’s words, her eyes flashing with uncertainty and pain.
“I told her that I didn’t care about Y/N,” I said, each word a betrayal I loathed, “and that I didn’t love her.” I hated myself for saying it, each syllable a dagger to my own heart.
“Stop lying!” Nami shouted, her voice filled with desperation.
I glanced over at Y/N, and she raised her hand, turning toward Nami with a broken smile. “It’s okay, Nami,” she said softly, but I could see the pain etched in her features, the tears threatening to spill over. I wanted to wipe them away, to tell her that none of it was true, that I did love her, that she was my princess, and that we were engaged. I didn’t care if that part was a lie; the love I felt for Y/N was as real as the air I breathed.
“You know,” she began, her voice steady but strained, “you can insult me or try to convince me that what you’re saying is true, but I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me.” Her gaze locked onto mine, fierce and unwavering. “Tell me you want this… tell me you hate me! I want to hear it from your mouth! Tell me you hate me, obliterate me with your words; I don’t care! Tell me that I mean nothing to you once again, that you want to be with Pudding and live that fantasy of a life. Tell me that you found a love that understands you and loves you more than anyone! And if that is truly what you want, and you can look me in the eyes and say it, I will turn around, and I will be gone with the sun by dusk.”
Her words hit me like a tsunami, each one crashing into me, suffocating me. I opened my mouth to respond, but all I could manage was, “I…”
“Tell me now!” she yelled, the pain in her voice laced with desperation as her body was surrounded by an aura of red electricity, crackling in tune with her emotions.
What is this? I thought, my heart racing. I was caught in the whirlwind of my own lies and her heartache, a maelstrom that threatened to tear us both apart. Her gaze pierced through me, and I could see the flicker of hope in her eyes as she waited for my response, and it crushed me further.
I was losing her, losing everything, and yet, here I was, shackled by my own choices, unable to break free. I wanted to scream the truth, to confess everything—to tell her how much she meant to me. But the weight of my lies held me down, suffocating the words in my throat. I was drowning in the consequences of my actions.
The electricity around Y/N crackled even more fiercely, her hurt and fury tangible. Every second I remained silent was another moment she drifted further away from me. This was it. This was the moment she would leave if I didn’t speak the truth.
But I couldn’t. My lips trembled, but the words never came.

MONSTER
i hold your mistakes high over your head, especially when they look like mine.
i'm not one to hand out forgiveness.
it pains me to admit you were right.
someday i will be someone you resent.
honey, the pleasure is all mine.
i heard you're calling me a traitor.
i owe you a good apology, i'll do it later.
i paint myself the good guy.
i heard you're calling me a monster.
after all the shit i pulled, you could do better.
i'll do what i want over what's right.
you gave me your all.
it was intimate.
i guess it ain't your fault that i can't commit.
i never listen.
i couldn't help but feel so indifferent.
all my failures are visceral.
i still taste blood from years ago.
you ain't good enough.
i can't even be honest with myself.
how could you believe i'd do that for someone else?
i don't want that life.
i'm kissing boys in the back of their cars.
it's half past 3.
you were fast asleep while i was on the phone with [ Jodie ].
will i ever know why i am like this?
i go for what i can't have, like i'm righteous.
i can't face the shame.
if you wanna place blame, just say my name.
i go home alone and i think it's strange.
i got what i want but it don't taste the same.
everyone who's ever loved me is the enemy.
i get high on all the jealousy.
you can't forgive the infidelity.
i don't wanna be someone who lives like that.
i was supposed to be a good friend, trusted.
i snuck around with the love of your life.
after all the shit i pulled, you should do better.
HOMEWRECKING ERA
wrap your thighs around me.
i could keep all your secrets.
cross my heart and hope i mean it.
think of all the damage i could do.
say less.
push me on the counter.
call me princess.
wish i could say no, but it's hopeless.
i'm losing focus.
i wonder if [ she ] knows about those pictures on your phone.
you should feel guilty, but you don't.
i'm in my homewrecking era.
got things i wanna do to you.
i feel bad for a minute.
you make me feel so good.
i taste something bitter in my mouth.
i left my bralette on the ground.
i can't help myself.
nobody fucks like me.
i'm the [ girl ] of your dirty dreams
the silence is deafening.
do you miss me?
i think [ she ] can taste me.
i can give you what you want.
we called it love.
we might've fucked it up.
baby, just fuck me up.
i'm the flame that keeps you warm at night.
don't i bring out the green in her eyes?
you like how pretty [ she ] is when [ she ] cries.
[ she ] loves you so much, even the lies.
we're both the one, but never the only.
you get so lonely
crown me the villain and hero tonight.
fucking me brought you together so nice.
i got a taste for the drama.
i spilled your guts 'cause i wanted.
look at all this damage that i do.
BETTER KIND OF BEST FRIEND
i can see [ her ] in my dreams.
i see [ her ] in my bed.
[ she's ] the goddamn vision that ringin' in my head.
i'm waitin', patient.
we could be good together.
let me release the pressure.
i think i found my treasure.
[ she ] tastes like heaven and she knows it.
i'm eager.
i just wanna please you.
she's got me prayin'.
i could be a better kind of best friend.
i'm a fan.
i don't die for my [ women ] anymore.
i'll do anything to have you.
i swear to be true.
i don't die for my [ women ] anymore, i kill for them.
you don't need to ask, you got my permission.
lord knows we tried.
can't stay away from each other.
you know i'm a sucker.
watch as i swallow my pride.
i wanna make it intimate.
i've got my finger on the trigger.
they come and go.
YOU DON'T WANT ME LIKE THAT ( also by Rachel Bochner )
if you hated me it'd be easier.
i know what's coming is really gonna hurt.
if i hated you, i would've never tried.
it's a habit you conditioned.
i wonder if you know you're bad.
i wanna tell you that i miss you.
you wouldn't say it back.
you don't want me like that.
you don't want a picture of me sitting on your nightstand.
you don't wanna touch me in the way we both know you can.
you just like the way i feel stuck in the palm of your hand.
where do you get off on it?
i do the extra credit but you're never satisfied.
i keep you center stage.
you keep me on the side.
i'm crossing all the lines.
you won't call it what it is.
you just call me when you're blue.
the fantasy is cute.
i would give you all i have.
i stay up waiting for you.
i can't keep waiting.
BABYBLUE
baby blue was always your color.
it's a little strange how we're seeing each other.
god, you look just as i remembered.
it's been a few years.
i've known you forever.
you packed your bags and moved to [ Boston. ]
you needed a place that you could get lost in.
time will tell.
you got my youth on your bedpost.
say it ain't so.
our picture's getting dusty.
you smell vanilla and don't think about me.
i hope it's alright, your life without me.
you ran to my house in the pouring rain.
i've cried every damn day since you left.
i don't mind if i never get over it.
i've been watching reruns.
i should call my little sister, i worry about her all the time.
you hold other hands.
i'm biting my tongue.
you're making new plans.
i'm coming undone.
i watch your old films.
looking at it now, i think i love you still.
i try to be cool.
if i never say a word, does it make it less true?
i feel the time go.
i fear the unknown.
it's getting so old.
all of my anxieties are filling up my diaries.
the water ran cold.
there's so much i don't know.
i think i gotta go.
you see green and don't think about me.
BAD BANDIT
i've been lonely for awhile now.
i'm tired of this ghost town.
[ she ] looks pretty on [ her ] poster.
i'm thinking i could hold [ her ].
i want you on my body.
won't you face it?
you wanna make or break it.
you wanna feel me naked.
i'll show you how to take it.
count your blessings when the devil ain't got nowhere to go.
maybe i'm bratty.
i taught that [ man ] a lesson.
[ he ] was charming and i loved [ him ].
[ his ] urges were disgusting.
i bed [ him ] down to nothing.
that little [ lady ] wanted love.
it's such a damn shame.
you better run, babe.
[ she's ] taking aim.
[ she ] promised me [ her ] best.
i could see forever in [ her ] golden eyes.
my baby told me lies.
i swear i'm gonna die.
but i ain't the one biting the dust tonight.
i swear i'm gonna miss [ her ] for the rest of my days.
i still hear [ her ] voice.
BET YOU'LL GET OFF ON THIS
maybe in another year you might be different.
i'd rather not admit how many years i've been insisting.
you showed me your true colors.
you used to be the prettiest thing i'd ever seen.
what you said to me last sunday was disgusting.
i don't need to look at you to know you feel nothing.
you feel nothing.
maybe you like it better when i'm cool.
i don't give a shit.
did you really have to be so cruel?
all i ever did was try to love you.
i don't know who you are.
i saw the façade slip, and it was alarming.
i'm left with confusion.
how did you not ever learn to be human?
what did i expect?
you never grew up.
you think you're so deep, but you're so out of touch.
[ Natalie ] was right when [ she ] said that you were heartless.
i don't ever want you to touch me again.
i really can't stand the way you talk about your [ girlfriend ].
bet it hurts to know i'm no longer your forever.
i won't hold my breath, but i hope you get better.
i don't wanna belittle my love.
all we ever did was try to love you.

yo, do ya have any favourite lyrics and/or line distributions? akito getting multiple lines about dogs is neato
Hoshizora no Melody has my favorite lyrics in the game it's not even a tough choice. I love how well every character's arc is conveyed through only a few lines it's so good. Emu could never and would never leave PXL (her grandad) behind, and WxS was able to finally change things for her and help her protect it. Rui was outcast his whole life and he came to accept it as something that would never change - it wasn't until WxS (Tsukasa) reached out to him and let him be passionate about his dreams without judging him that he was finally able to turn things around. Tsukasa throws his all into theatre (making people happy) and it's something that is so deeply ingrained as a part of himself, but WxS let him actually pave the way to make his dream a reality. Nene was too shy to face anyone and couldn't get over the things in her way (her past failures), but she was able to rediscover her passion for singing and is able to sing for everyone once again.
The prechorus parts too, Emu and Tsukasa sing the part about realising that the world can make people smile because both of their dreams are to make people smile. Emu and Rui singing about the world giving life back to things they'd given up because Rui gave up on the thought of belonging and Emu was going to have to give up the Wonder Stage. Rui getting the part about celebrating the colors of the world because his dream is to create shows that anyone can enjoy regardless of identity.
As you said I think Akito getting lines about dogs is a nice little bit of recurring irony. I particularly like this example from Gekokujo that conveys his unwavering determination and drive even when he's faced with forces pushing against him really nicely. Also just Gekokujo's lyrics as a whole I think reflect the event so well.
N25 probably has the best lyric game like there's so many good examples from their songs. Particular favorites would have to be Engeki for summarising basically Mafuyu's entire life in such a gut-punching way, and Tricologe for a similar reason for Hoshizora in that it just does such a good job of representing every character.
IDSMILE/lower parallels my beloved <3
Gunjou Sanka is another favorite of mine. If you couldn't tell by now I love stuff that either tells a story or describes a character. Or both. All of Gunjou Sanka is so good and really packs a punch with the emotions but I really like the first verse and prechorus here where it describes the basics of each main story in just one or two lines each. I especially love the Leo/need segment about being able to believe in wanting to stay together since they've moved on from their pasts and are reuinted now.
And how could I forget Mr. Showtime. This one has such clever lyrics and I love the use of parentheses to add secondary meanings to certain parts. The whole song is perfection but I'm particularly fond of this section here, specifically the last line because it understands Tsukasa so much better than like half the fandom does. Theatre is something that Tsukasa genuinely dedicates everything to, in some ways (every way) it is his life. Phoenix is a great example to demonstrate that because it highlights just how much it means to him and how he's willing to put it above everything else, including his own wellbeing, to try and overcome the obstacles he faces. At the end of the day though, even if it's tough and can feel like it's taking too long or isn't worth it, the roadblocks he doesn't anticipate are the ones that help him improve most and get closer to his dream than anything else.
also just this one lyric from Showtime Ruler I love character development. Karasuyasabou actually says that's his favorite in the song, and he talked quite a lot about the lyrics for the rest of the song in his corocoro interview. I'd suggest giving it a read because it's pretty interesting what he says about how he wrote it.
this is getting a bit long so i'll stop here haha
#honourable mentions to I Am We Are and Tenshi no Clover that I had to cut out due to length#i think both of them are brilliantly written and convey minori and shizuku's struggles and ambitions so well#asks#mod talks

It's Quiet Uptown
Note: Okay, I know I have a bunch of requests in my inbox, and I'm so sorry BUT!! I got into a Hamilton phase and now, you all are gonna have to bear with it with a songfic.
Also, for the sake of this fic (and for my convenience), I'll refer to Vil's father as his stage name, Eric.
This takes place at the first alternate ending of my Vil's Younger Sibling fic. Find that here, but it's part of a series, so keep that in mind!
(tagging: @dr3amscap3)
Warning/s: Angst no fluff, Death, Slight spoilers for Chapter 6, Canon divergence, Spoilers for Chapter 5, My attempts to change some lyrics to fit the situation
Vil's fingers press on the piano keys, his hands already knowing the notes and chords of every part of the song. Every cue to step on the pedal. From his posture to the elegance of his fingers, nobody would have thought that Vil was grieving.
There are moments that the words don't reach
There is suffering too terrible to name...
It had become almost habitual at this point, keeping up a mask to hide his true emotions. It was a skill actors and models always had to have, after all.
He just has to look perfect. No emotion, not even a flicker, not even the tiniest amount of weakness must be shown. Nothing must be out of place.
He is perfect. He needs to be perfect. He is fine. He's moved on. His past is behind him. He needs nothing else, no one else.
He is whole...
The door opens, a small creak and a set of footsteps signifying the entrance of someone. Weary and puffy purple eyes look at Vil as he plays the piano. The sight was normal all the time, but Eric can't help but feel that something was missing.
In the Schoenheit household, the sound of piano chords was always accompanied with the sound of violin strings. Vil and his younger sibling would always be playing music together. And Eric loved coming home to hear the sounds his children would make together.
But [Name] wasn't here. They no longer are here, and perhaps that is why the sound of the piano on its own never felt right. The violin in the corner of the room is untouched, left in its case all in the back of the room.
Eric walks closer to Vil and the piano, listening and lightly humming along with the music. The two stop for a moment, expecting a certain violinist play a wrong note or add a new melody. [Name] always changed the line, they changed the melody every time.
But there was nothing. Just silence.
Vil buries his face in his father's chest, his tears soiling Eric's dress shirt, but the man couldn't care less. Eric pats his son's back, running a hand through his hair in the hopes of soothing his eldest son.
You hold your child as tight as you can
And push away the unimaginable
Eric doesn't cry. He can't cry. Not right now, when Vil need him to be strong. It tires him to cry, but it tires him even more having to acknowledge the truth every day.
There are moments when you're in so deep
It feels easier to just swim down
...
The Schoenheits give up their crown
And learn to live with the unimaginable
Vil heaves a sigh as he walks around town. Eric had pushed him to take a stroll, perhaps to try taking his mind off of everything. Eric had a waver to his voice that made Vil know that his father only made him go out the house so the man could cry on his own.
I spend hours in the garden
I walk alone to the store
The hustle and bustle of the town was normal, everyone was living their lives. The townspeople had gotten used to having the Schoenheit family just nearby, and mostly left them unbothered. It was a slow and silent day, to Vil at least.
From one of the houses nearby, a certain wolf beastman looks out the window, seeing the model walk past. Jack can't help but frown a bit, watching how Vil walks and stands tall, but his eyes have a faraway look to them.
And it's quiet uptown
I never liked the quiet before
Vil plops down a bouquet of [Name]'s favorite flowers by the tombstone, taking a clean rag and wipes the grave meticulously. There was barely any dust or dirt on it, thanks to Vil's weekly visits, but he couldn't stop himself.
I visit their grave on Sunday
Placing some flowers on the floor
At the very least, Vil could still pamper his younger sibling the best he can. The actor blinks multiple times, the tears in his eyes making it hard to see his surroundings properly. A Purple Emperor butterfly lands on the flowers on the floor, resting its wings.
...
And I pray
That never used to happen before
Vil sighs, burying his hands in his pockets, burying the lower part of his face behind his scarf. He mumbles to himself, whispering apologies and reminiscing memories of [Name]. Vil can't help but manage a pathetic chuckle. He would always scold them for mumbling and hiding their face.
If you see him in the street,
Walking by himself, talking to himself,
Have pity
Vil always told [Name] to be proud of who they are.
But Vil can't even follow his own advice, for once. Not when guilt and self-blame eats him up on the inside.
"[Name], you wouldn't like things right now, it's too quiet right now..."
He is working through the unimaginable
...
Eric walks through the city, trying to ignore the press and paparazzi following him incessantly. The man, for the first time in what feels like the longest time, wishes he had bodyguards with him or that he had simply not gone out at all.
His hair has gone grey, he passes every day
They say he walks the length of the city
But he knew that he had to leave the house. If he hadn't, then he would have been stuck in his youngest child's room, looking through every picture for the millionth time that day.
He looks across the street, seeing a father lifting up his daughter, a proud smile on his face as he plays around with his children, his wife laughing and taking pictures of the moment. Eric feels a pang in his heart, wishing that family nothing but happiness.
Eric remembers the first time he held Vil, the first time he saw [Name]. He remembers his children's first words, their first steps, he wouldn't even need a photograph or a video to remember it. When he saw [Name] smile for the first time, Eric remembers his exact words and thoughts in that moment:
"You knock me out, I fall apart"
Can you imagine?
...
"Look at where we are, look at where we started." Rook places a hand on Vil's shoulder, looking at him in concern.
Vil looks back at him, keeping back his emotion. He must be perfect, and not a single speck out of place. But the hunter could see and hear very clearly, how Vil was clearly too stressed for anything. It was a wonder how the dorm leader could handle going back to school like this.
"The students don't deserve me, Rook-" Rook shakes his head and gently shushes Vil. He can't bear seeing his Roi du Poison so anguished, but knows that there isn't much he can do. Despite this, he tries anyway.
"Shh, hear me out, that would be enough."
Vil huffs and shakes his head in return, his thoughts spiraling back to the VDC tournament. His foolish decisions that led to his sibling's death.
"If I could spare their life... if I could trade their life for mine..."
Vil trails off and glances at Epel, who was despondently playing with his food. Normally, Vil would have scolded the first year for doing so, but he didn't have the heart nor the energy to do so.
Rook sighs and makes Vil face him, holding him by the shoulders, trying to comfort his friend.
They'd be standing here right now, and they would smile
And that would be enough.
"I don't pretend to know the challenges you're facing. I know there's no replacing what was lost, and you need time."
"But don't be afraid, you'll know when you're ready. Just let me stay here by your side. That would be enough."
...
Vil briskly walks over to Epel, who was going back to the dorm from club time. The dorm leader had been trying to talk to the first year for a while, but it's been hard getting Epel to speak or even look at Vil for more than three seconds.
If you see him in the street
Talking by his side, walking by his side
Have pity
"Epel, do you like it right now? It's quiet right now.."
He is trying to do the unimaginable
But Epel ignores him, walking faster and faster until he starts running to the mirror, leaving Vil alone in the hallway.
...
Epel walks as Vil tries to catch up with him. The first year's blue eyes gaze at the wall and the floor like it was the most interesting in the world. He can't bear looking at his dorm leader.
See them walking in the hall, staring at the wall
Taking in the glances full of pity
Not when Vil looked so much like [Name]. Not when looking at Vil reminds Epel of the friend he lost too quickly.
Then a butterfly flutters nearby, and Epel glances at it. His meemaw always told him that butterflies symbolized the dead, and he tears up. He could hear [Name]'s laugh from when they messed around when [Name] was staying in his house. And then he heard their scream, when the rubble fell down and crushed them under it.
Epel stops walking, his gaze distant but fixated on the butterfly fluttering around him. Vil takes this as a chance to try speaking to Epel, but the first year beats him to it.
"Look around, look around, [Name]..."
It was an absent-minded murmur on Epel's part, but it brought Vil to tears as well. The two didn't speak, only stood next to each other, watching the butterfly land on an apple tree, eating an apple that fell to the ground.
They are trying to do the unimaginable
...
Every class he goes to, Vil always notices the Purple Emperor butterfly following him. Some of the other students have pointed it out, Rook especially. The hunter would say that [Name] was always watching over him.
There are moments that the words don't reach
There's a grace too powerful to name
But Vil won't believe it ⸺ he can't believe it, rather. Why would [Name] watch over Vil, of all people? It was a foolish thought, after all. Vil was the reason why [Name] died. So why would they follow him when they could simply rest in the peace that reached them too soon?
We push away what we can never understand
We push away the unimaginable
...
Vil watches [Name] as they play with the butterflies that float around them. The younger Schoenheit had a ghost of a smile on their face as the beautiful insects fluttered about them. And Vil eyes the scene with wide, unbelieving eyes.
They are standing in the garden
Vil by [Name]'s side
The older Schoenheit slowly walks over, hesitantly approaching his younger sibling, who was acting like nothing had happened. Like it was all a dream.
As though sensing their older brother's presence, [Name] turns around, the small smile on their lips still there. And they do something Vil never thought was possible.
They take his hand...
[Name] opens their mouth to speak, looking up at Vil with a sad, accepting smile.
"It's quiet uptown."
Vil's eyes widen and the dam of emotion is released once again. He falls down to his knees, clenching his eyes closed as tears run down his cheeks, ruining his makeup. Gently squeezing his younger sibling's hand, he presses it against his cheek, trying to prove to himself that [Name] was indeed here.
Forgiveness. Can you imagine?
And for the first time in a long time, Vil smiled. Happy tears fall down his face and he looks up at [Name]. Then he notices a small flicker in [Name]'s expression.
Their eyes darken.
Their smile turn into a smirk that looked almost evil.
And then Vil realizes where he was.
Forgiveness.
Vil quickly jumps away, narrowly dodging a pile of rubble that fell right where he was a second ago. The Schoenheit rubs his eyes, wiping away the tears and gets his magic ready to defend himself.
Vil isn't in a garden. He isn't in home. He's in STYX, getting tested on because he overblotted and survived, though Vil wishes he never did. His heart aches, and he can't help but curse the Shroud brothers in his mind for bringing sweet [Name] into this.
He curses the world for having the gall to create a version of his younger sibling based on his memories just to attack him. For getting his hopes up, for getting him to think that [Name] was still with him. For making him go against his sibling once again. For making this the last time he'll see [Name] 'alive' and well.
Can you imagine?
