Might delete this later but bear with me because im sick of seeing this ao3 blowback every year. The ire people aim at ao3 for existing as a non-profit with no sponsor other than its users (who the ire is also aimed at for throwing money its way) rather than the systems that make it impossible for a literal archive of fanworks to exist without donation is baffling.

Ao3 needs funds because otherwise it would need ads and be subject to the censors that every site on the internet is forced to submit to. You know, the whims of the same corporations that first made it impossible to say "gay" on youtube without getting demonetized and then lead to OF, a site for indie sex workers, almost getting denied all payment support from legit banks? Those systems.

This capitalist way of things is the reason why ao3 runs on donations, and why people keep needing to put up fundraisers for basic expenses.

You have a common enemy. Dont shit on an organization that fights for the right of fandom to exist in any real, permanent, centralized capacity, an organization that everyone knows about, getting money, rather than an individual that's limited by the confines of only some people knowing them.

Uplift, boost and donate to the people who need it. But dont 1) feign ignorance at why ao3 is getting so much attention and 2) act like the site is only there for quote unquote 30 year old white women writing drarry rpf.

Make no mistake; if ao3 falls, not only do we lose a library of alexandria of fiction, but there's a good chance that Fandom as a whole goes back into illegality. The right of creative writing, drawing, anything based on copyrighted work will regress 20 years.

Yall want your cake and eat it too; its either ads or donations. And seeing how every site in existence is going to shit because of ads, I much prefer donations.

Your rage at your friends and family and random people dying in poverty is warranted and justified. You should be mad. You can even be infuriated at the amount of money ao3 gets. But rallying against ao3 in response to it being one of the only sites that can exist without ads is counterproductive at best and actively harmful at worst.

Is Anyone Else In Love With Gory Whump Or Is It Just Me?

One morning I had this idea about a whumpee waking up with bandages all over their body. And hearing the caretaker talking about how dangerously heavy their bleeding has been. So now I have this urge to drain every last drop of blood from the whumpee (except Im not a fan of killing whumpees so it’s a big problem) Did you know that heavy bleeding just leads to more whump? It’s called Hypovolemic shock and symptoms include pallor (being pale), weakness, sweating, even PASSING OUT etc. So yeah, pretty much my favourite tropes all in one whump😄. Allow me to share my Gory Whump Story with yall!

Caretaker is walking alone at night in a street that hardly anyone ever visits, when they notice a thick trail of blood at their feet. They are super scared because they know that there is a serious threat where the blood leads to, but they also know they should help whoever has been wounded so horribly.

Meanwhile at the place of the whump, the whumpee has cuts all over their body from the whumper. The whumpee collapsed from being so tired and ans losing so much blood. They try to get up by lifting their body with their arms to start, but slip on the blood and fall back down. “Awww. What’s the matter? Not enough blood?” Says the whumper in an insulting way (I’m always picturing whumpers with cold dark hearts- not the type of whumper we all are, obviously.) The whumpee responds with whimpering.

The caretaker hears it and immediately realises that they know the whumpee and care about them (partner or not partner). They rush to the end of the blood trail to find the whumpee covered in cuts and blood. The whumper delivers a stab to their side and they start to tear up. The tears run down their cheeks as they give a short sob-like cry of distress. The caretaker panics and without another thought, goes to the whumpee. Blood splashes at their feet, but they don’t care. One look at the pale, shivering whumpee told the caretaker that they needed serious medical attention, and they shouldn’t care about little things like getting their shoes dirty. The caretaker gets out their phone and doesn’t even type in the password. They use the emergency call button and send an ambulance (and of course, the police.) As the Ambulance is arriving, the caretaker switches between yelling at the whumper and soothing the whumpee with famous quotes like, “breathe just breathe” (shallow breathing is another symptom btw.) And “it’s going to be alright, help is coming.” And even trying to fight the whumper. The ambulance and police cars then arrive and… you decide from there.

I know from experience that writing whump feels so much better if YOU actually come up with the ideas, so in gonna leave you to it cause I hope I gave a good start to a new whump story, you can respond your own variations and give some of your hospital ideas. I haven’t actually thought about what’s gonna happen at the hospital yet, so that’s something I’m gonna do after (plus I probably wrote alot so give yourself a high five if you actually tuned in for all of it) and don’t leave me hanging! Tell me if you also feel the need for gore and we can discuss ideas (cause that’s what whump blogs are for right? I think I’m gonna create a whump blog of my own soon😊)

The hardest part of norrayweek was easily making my orgins post cause i kept going back and editing it and then the little shit didnt even show up in the tags😂

There were two fanarts that I didnt leave a comment on at first cause I personally gushed to the creator about it through the chat box. But when I was going through the tag again I found those two arts and gave the creators a comment😂💖

This is the second ship-week I have officially participated on! :D

I was never able to memorized the prompts and what day they were attached to xD So I had to look at the screenshot of the prompts quite a lot of times.

absolutely TINY blog update but i made the realization that with submissions i used to tag everything as DMP/Discord Murder Party myself as they were submitted because obviously Everything On The Blog was DMP related, but since i’ve been getting more and more submissions that can apply to Chaos Van, and once Chaos Van has its own separate identity with a whole separate cast of characters made public that i’ll offer tags for and shift my priorities to getting more content for the show as a whole on here, it will be extremely worth it to have submission tags for either DMP or Chaos Van once the content yall know about CV becomes markably DIFFERENT than DMP. this is a bit preemptive but the last quote i submitted made me realize it’s probably worth it!

also i added ozolthog as a tagging option because idk why i just had chaos god on there lol

anyways thank you all! quick update but i think it’s a good thing to keep in place because jesus CHRIST the tagging options will BALLOON once we have so many more characters from a completely different show to submit with
