I never cease to be amazed by the fact I manage to retain a good sense of humour when most in this world seem to be losing, or have already lost the plot, or, are still rummaging to find a plot to lose in the first place for reasons yet unbeknown to them.

You see, up until about five minutes ago, I had no idea that the UK government website had an entire section devoted to acronyms. Trust me, it's true, and you too can refer to this via something entitled 'Style guide - A to Z - Guidance.' I rather like the term 'Style Guide' as if it's somehow couture in presentation and of such meaningless drivel I can imagine John Cleese being behind naming it such as a piss-take on the establishment that some idiot in government took seriously and adopted. Unlike the 'Ministry of Silly Walks' which, much to my continued disappointment, should have been made mandatory, and Boris the latest star turn.

Ah well. As far as acronyms go, I'm totally convinced that there is someone in the bowels of Whitehall who never sees the light of day and is fed and watered through a hatch in the door, and kept there for the sole purpose of inventing acronyms to suit whatever purpose is required of him - because it has to be a mad professorial type who looks like Gandalf on amphetamines and has an entire library of dictionaries from around the world at his fingertips from which to access the correct acronym for all occasions.

Today I woke up to news of the latest one, NEET. As in 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training. Perhaps it simply involves far too many letters, but as hard as I search the government website I'm surprised to find no reference at all to an acronym for B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T - yet. However, I live in hope.

Anyway, we have NEET but no TIDY. So, NEET it is then, for now. So, who exactly are these deemed not to be in education, employment, and training? Apparently, those who were so freaked out by the pandemic that they no longer want to attend school, or engage in any activity that involves leaving the security of their own home - such as for employment, and who seemingly spend their time engaging in activities such as TikTok and popping copious amounts of antidepressants that, by all accounts, have seen a huge rise in uptake that according to the 'National Institute for Cost Effectiveness', aka NICE, created a whole new generation of pill-poppers in the eleven to seventeen-year-old age group. Mind you, this report does date back to 2022, and I cannot imagine things getting any better since then. Meanwhile, the shareholders of the big pharma companies are rubbing their hands in glee from a whole new generation of addicts helping along their even healthier dividends and a few extra boxes of Montecristo Number One to enjoy while celebrating the extra dosh pouring into their already bulging bank accounts. Excellent work!

Not that I would ever wish to cast aspersions on the post-millennial generation, and neither would I be in any way cynical either, because if you've been reading my blog posts for any serious length of time you would fully recognise that such things are beyond me. However, I have to say that the mollycoddled progeny so enjoyably wrapped in the finest cotton wool available to humankind by parents who see their little darlings as 'friends' rather than offspring haven't exactly helped toward creating a generation of robust x, y's, and z's.

The time has not passed when people reacted to a word "anabolics" or even "protein" inadequately. Sometimes it even comes to a situation when sportsmen associate the expression of "sports meal" with something criminal. But for many bodybuilders these notions stand just for one concept - steroids. Used by sportsmen, they provide very significant increases in muscular weight and strength.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will announce Thursday that his state has surpassed a business-creation milestone he made a campaign pledge to meet.

After he was declared the victor in November 2021 against Democratic former Gov. Terence McAuliffe, Youngkin, a Republican, pledged to foster 10,000 new start-up businesses during his term.

"On day one, we’re going to jumpstart our jobs and reinvigorate the economy so it lifts up all Virginians," Youngkin said at the time, having repeatedly declared since that "Virginia is open for business." 

On Thursday, Youngkin said he achieved that goal in "record time."

"Through our ‘Compete to Win’ strategy, we’ve reached this incredible milestone by driving innovation, fostering entrepreneurship, bolstering our talent pipeline, providing needed tax relief, and truly creating an environment where startups and businesses can thrive," he said.

"Our efforts to bolster our business environment over the past two and a half years have earned Virginia the top state for business accolade. All startups should come to Virginia because we are fostering an environment of success."

Youngkin will visit ZEBOX in Arlington later Thursday to commemorate the milestone. ZEBOX is a "startup accelerator" and "innovation hub," the governor’s office said in a statement.

In response, Virginia Secretary of Commerce Caren Merrick said it is exciting to see so many innovators and entrepreneurs choose Virginia to launch their projects.

"I look forward to thousands more in the future," Merrick said.

With Virginia being the rare state in which governors cannot be sequentially re-elected, that left the Falls Church businessman with only four years to meet the goal.

Youngkin said he is also proud to see CNBC name Virginia the top state for business in the country.

One recent ribbon-cutting took place not far from the governor’s office, as Youngkin joined Petersburg Mayor Sam Parham to open the Petersburg Pharma Campus, which houses several pharmaceutical manufacturers.

On the other side of the state, Firefly Aerospace chose Virginia Spaceport Authority’s Wallops Island facility near Accomac earlier this summer as the launchpad for its Alpha launch vehicle. Wallops Island is also home to an active NASA site.

As early as 2022, Youngkin’s name was being floated as a potential Republican presidential candidate, though the governor has repeatedly stressed his focus remains on Virginia rather than any national political aspirations.

"They elected me to lead change. They elected me to lead Virginia forward. And that's what we're doing," Youngkin told Fox News at the time.

Until Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, was ultimately selected by former President Trump, the political newcomer had also been floated as a potential vice presidential nominee.

Prior to venturing into politics, Youngkin himself had a successful career in the business sector, helming an executive position with the private equity firm Carlyle Group since 1995.

During his tenure there, he reportedly helped Carlyle lead a high-profile $12 billion revamp of John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 1.

The Cybertronian Members of the Lantern Corps (A Concept)

So here’s the idea: The Cybertronian Civil War has finally and truly ended. Megatron has surrendered, and the Decepticons and Autobots have struck up a peace. And thanks to this, many old records from Iacon have been recovered and Cybertron has once again opened up trade and travel with the galaxy, becoming an active participant of the universe… which gets the attention of the various Lantern Corps of DC. So many new Rings find new owners from the various members of Cybertronian Society.

(Side note I’ll be focusing on four Lantern Corps since I know more about them than the others)

ok so here we go. the post about what wesker was like pre infection vs post infection, alternatively: superpowers are not worth it if your brain gets nuked.

what is known about albert wesker prior to his infection with the prototype virus (using lore from RE5 with all the other lore slapped together too) is that he is one of many children taken from their families by various means due to "possessing superior attributes" because spencer believed in eugenics like a rancid fuckass, which he is. being raised by spencer (or in another home that was still under spencer) meant being pushed to prove his "superiority" and being fed the awful takes of eugenics and social darwinism and the likes. he's taught to see humans as a dead end, to hate the suffering that humanity goes through. he's also sent to the worlds most hellish school and trains under dr. marcus and has a doctorate in virology by the age of 17. this, of course, skips over all the other horrible things he witnessed growing up as one of the wesker children, but that would take forever to explain, so it's for a totally different post. after getting his degree in virology, wesker starts working as an umbrella researcher. he also befriends william birkin, who is also a prodigy (a year younger than wesker in age). the ashfords also are somewhere in here as a first meeting, but okay we're skipping over the ashfords for now.

after a while, wesker finds that being a researcher sorta sucks ass and while he is a prodigy, he's also sorta mid at being a prodigy. so he transfers departments and goes into being uhhh a spy lmao. he's picked up by the US army for a while, and is said to have helped them with their own illegal bio weapon shit. then, in 1996 he becomes captain of S.T.A.R.S. alpha team, which he remains until 1998 when everything goes to absolute shit in arklay.

no one who knew albert wesker would ever have said that he had much love for humanity, but everyone would say that he was motivated due to hating the way society was fucking things over. he hated seeing disparity, he hated the fact that wars even were a thing. he really had an issue with the top 1% - he was an "eat the rich" sort of guy, even though he was also rather wealthy, he wasn't one to flaunt it, because how does that help anything? i'll write about his entire socioeconomic situation in another post. if people asked wesker about his views, he wasn't one to hide them. literally everyone knew he thought society sucked ass, but he'd rather be making change than sitting around just complaining about it. if someone had asked him what he'd do to improve the world if he had the ability to just make changes / what an ideal world would look like to him, he'd say things like... education needs to be accessible for everyone so people aren't fucking duped because they don't know things. healthcare should be available to everyone because it's a basic human right but SOMEHOW that doesn't seem to click with human beings, so dang if humanity can't even meet the bar on the ground called "basic human decency" then even just having that be a thing everyone lived by would vastly improve the state of the world. he was rather loudly against big pharma, which is why no one in S.T.A.R.S. would've guessed he was the umbrella spy, and umbrella thought he was doing that to throw people off his trail, but no actually he hates big pharma because it looped back to the issue of no one fucking knows basic human decency. wesker's not an idiot, he knows that people had to pay out of their asses for medicines and healthcare that they needed to even barely reach a quality of life worth living, and he hated it.

umbrella was his first target to take down, but he would've gone after the organization, he would've gone after TRICELL, and all in the same method that he tore down umbrella. because dang the monopoly that big companies have, where everyone else has to suffer? sucks. and he has a habit of jumping to the most extreme and radical solution possible, because he was never good at social reasoning. on the note of his own research, of course he was proud of it. because that part did loop back to what spencer drilled into him- and his hatred for capitalism also does link back to what spencer taught him about human disparity, which means spencer set himself up for failure because he was the rich guy at the top of this capitalism bullshit and albert wesker only knew how to think in extremes.

so umbrella says "get this info and betray S.T.A.R.S." and wesker is like lmao ok but in the whole crossing his fingers behind his back sort of way. S.T.A.R.S. meant a lot to him! whether he showed it or not, the members of S.T.A.R.S. had proven that they had basic human decency, they worked as a team, they basically were examples of the types of people wesker wished everyone else in the world would be. of course they had their flaws, but humans are inherently flawed. but they were good people in his book, and so of course he was just going to betray umbrella. it's why he kept leaving notes for chris so he'd survive the mansion!

but by the time arklay came around, wesker had also injected himself with the virus birkin gave to him, and his brain had already been shot to shit from it. his behavior became more erratic, he took a swing into severe mania, and chris isn't wrong in saying things like wesker's gone senile- at the very least, wesker snapped and was clearly UNWELL!!!!! and now he's making bad choices to boot. dying also did him no favors on that front.

as time went on, wesker retained the ability to be charismatic and draw people in, because he had a circle of allies that he also kept like more than arms length away. he retained his academic smarts, but his moral compass? busted. and the more things went on, the more radical his ideas got, which led to "COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION" because now he's really only thinking in extremes. i mentioned in another post that wesker also does have this fear of being hurt, because he HAS been hurt by people because spencer had no human decency which is why wesker also valued basic human decency in others. somewhere deep down, there was still that frightened child part of him that just wanted to make the people who hurt him go Away, and the part of him that held the guilt of betraying S.T.A.R.S. thought "if there are no people, i can't hurt or betray anyone either". and of course, deep down wesker also knew that No One was compatible with uroboros. not in the way he'd deem a success- even he wasn't!! look at what happened to him!!!!

the conclusion of this post is if you asked S.T.A.R.S. wesker what he thought of RE5 wesker, he'd say: "this guy sucks ass, also the plan's sloppy and counterproductive to the stated goal, and the goal is also stupid" and if you asked RE5 wesker what he thought of S.T.A.R.S. wesker, he'd say: "sentimental, weak, and blinded by unrealistic expectations of a species that has consistently proven to be full of shit" they'd hate each other lmao thanks for coming to my tedtalk
