The mirrored surface disappeared, replacing Amy’s tangled hair and gaunt face with Alouette’s greying features. Her body froze in shock recognising who stood before her. If she needed proof of time passing she had it now.
Tumblr media
Alouette’s moustache twitched when a smirk crossed his lips. “Whispers about a couple looking for their daughter are making the rounds. I was considering introducing myself. What do you think of the name Dianthus?”
Tumblr media
“Stay away from them!” Amy sprang to her feet to bang her fists against the glass. Magic sparked out of her hands with each hit against the window. How did she not see the similarities between Alouette and Dianthus until now?
“Don't wear yourself out, my dear, you know the place is warded. Not that you know many spells to be much of a bother,” he said. “Besides, it’s not me your parents need to be concerned about; I only want to help.”

L’Alouette
Being a total bird nerd, I had to do a little dive into this somewhat bird-themed chapter of Les Mis.
What is an “alouette”? Many have heard this bird’s name through the children’s song “Alouette, gentille alouette” which is popular even in non-French speaking countries. An “alouette” is a “lark”, the common name for the avian family Alaudidae (which contains 100 species).
What type of lark is Hugo referring to in 1.4.3? It is almost certainly the Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis) or “Alouette des champs” in French.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: A small brown and white bird (Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis)) on a wooden fence post.] [Credit: Natural England/Allan Drewitt, 2015. https://flic.kr/p/vDvojm]
This species has been referenced in literature throughout history, likely due to its proximity to humans and its distinctive song. The Eurasian Skylark lives in open habitats such as fields and pastures and has an incredibly long song which it sings persistently while in flight.
So why did the townspeople choose to call Cosette an alouette? The text tells us that Cosette is a:
“...trembling, frightened, and shivering little creature, no bigger than a bird, who was awake every morning before any one else in the house or the village, and was always in the street or the fields before daybreak.” (Hapgood translation)
The Eurasian Skylark is a relatively small bird around the size of a sparrow (17.5-19.0 cm). They forage on the ground where their plumage can make them nearly invisible. They are also said to be the first bird to sing in the morning. I couldn’t find any scientific evidence that this is true, besides learning that their “ground song” (sung by both males and females from the ground) is mostly sung in the morning. However, I did find some cultural allusions to this idea.
“Au chant de l’alouette” (literally translated as “at the singing of the lark”) means “very early in the morning” or “at the crack of dawn” [wiktionnaire]. (Though I don’t know anything about the usage of this phrase, i.e. how much it’s used or when it’s from.) From wikipedia: “Ethnomusicologist Conrad LaForte points out that, in song, the lark (l'alouette) is the bird of the morning, and that it is the first bird to sing in the morning, hence waking up lovers and causing them to part, and waking up others as well, something that is not always appreciated.”
My guess is that since the skylark is a small, drab bird that is often found flittering on the ground and is generally considered to be the first bird to sing in the morning, Cosette was dubbed “l’alouette” by the neighbors.

“Bird/Rebirth” symbolism from TWDDD 1x2 Alouette
To get it out of the way, we’re talking about episode 1x2 here, or 102 if you want to format it that way. I’m mentioning it because...
Tumblr media
...as we've talked about for years, the hands on the clock behind Beth as she wakes up (rebirth/resurrection symbolism) points to the TEN and the TWO. Or in other words, the 10 and the 2, as in 102. Or as in “episode 1x2”. Neither the audience nor the characters knew anything about Beth’s whereabouts at that point, she might as well have been dead.
But of course she wasn’t. Because where Beth, in 5x8 Slabtown, was protected by the Bird symbolism from her encounter with the Blue Heron painting from 4x12 Still...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Lily wasn't. TWDDD 1X2 was the episode where she died.
Tumblr media
...or that's how you could put it for simplicity’s sake. It's not entirely correct though, the reality is a bit more complex.
Tumblr media
As we saw, Isabelle sang an old lullaby, “Alouette”, to calm Lily down before giving birth. “Alouette” is French for lark, and “Lark" is a bird.
In other words, the Bird symbolism actually WAS present in Laurent's birth scene, it just didn't apply to Lily. Instead, it protected her child.
(Let's also not forget that Lark was Madison's (from FTWD) Padre name, and Madison "resurrected" after being thought to have perished in the fire (Sirius symbolism) at the Diamond Stadium)
Tumblr media
And in the words of Pere Jean: "It's a miracle".
A live baby, born from a dead woman. That's what I'd call major "resurrection/rebirth” symbolism.
Tumblr media
Let's talk about how this is how we know the rebirth/ resurrection symbolism is also intertwined with the Sirius symbolism. As I constantly keep talking about, Sirius symbolism means return/resurrection/rebirth because it originates from the astronomical event that occurs when Sirius the Dog Star returns to the night sky after having disappeared for some time. And "Sirius" symbolism in the TWDU is often represented by the prescence of "fire" in some way, shape or form, because Sirius the Dog Star got its name from Greek "Seiros", which means "glowing", "scorching".
And how do we know baby Laurent is covered by Sirius symbolism?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Welcome, Laurent"...
Here are few fun facts about Saint Laurent (Lawrence in English), who we now know baby Laurent is named after:
Tumblr media
Here he is, looking fierce in the face of fire:
Tumblr media
Oh, by the way, Saint Laurent/Lawrence is often referred to as "Saint Laurent/Lawrence of Rome"...
Tumblr media
Isn't that an interesting coincidence? Because we all remember this...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I've written about in countless posts over the years, Beth is a Sirius character, look at her face, she's no stranger to lighting stuff on fire!
Au contraire, this is the face of someone VERY comfortable around fire (at least from a symbolism standpoint). Look how exited she is over the thought of burning shit down:
Tumblr media
And finally, let's appreciate the Bird symbolism that was permeating the final minutes of 4x12 Still, along with all the Sirius (fire) symbolism and the references to Rome...
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enjoy this "wolf" reference against a backdrop of ravaging flames...
Tumblr media
Finally, I think this is a good time to remind everyone of the ongoing filming in and around the Louvre this week...
Tumblr media
...because it sure is a tremendous coincidence that the name "Louvre" possibly could be a reference to...
Tumblr media
…a wolf's den.
Yup! The name “Louvre” is by many thought to be a reference to a wolf's hunting den.
It's almost as if the Louvre is precisely where the “wolf” would be comimg "home" to, or something...
I'm sure there will be a party if/when that happens...

DD Spinoff Title Episodes
Has everyone been following the release of episode titles for the spinoff?
Tumblr media
@galadrieljones:
“L’ame Perdue” = The Lost Soul
@wdway:
Daryl is the lost soul? Or maybe a hint to the series of him finding that soul that he thought he had lost.
I just read where the first episode of DD will be 87 minutes when it airs on regular AMC, Sunday, September, 10th! Of course that includes commercials, but still that's fantastic. That means the 10 minutes/20 minutes seen at SDCC was not the majority of the episode. My guess is that there will be a nice little chunk, at least 5 minutes or so at the very start before the actor credits, followed by what we saw and what we heard about from SDCC possibly close to an hour of actual story air time and then the rest divided into commercial breaks.
I'm so excited that we're going to get an extended first episode.
@twdmusicboxmystery:
Tumblr media
Ep 2, Allouette = Lark. As in, a bird.
Episode 3 translated to “Paris will always be Paris.”
There’s a well known French song called Alouette that o still remember from my junior high French days. Actually, it’s kind of a drinking song, lol. But a fairly well known song.
@wdway:
Something popped up on my Facebook page about the 3rd episode, Allouette- Paris will always be Paris. It went into a little detail about the song being very popular during the war with Germany in the late 1930's. The thing that struck me is that it was a song basically popular in Paris during World War ll, it wasn't a world War at that time because we didn't entered until after Pearl Harbor and 1941. It goes back to add to all those hints we've been seeing about World War ll since s5.
@twdmusicboxmystery:
Yeah, for sure!
So, I looked up Paris will Always Be Paris. I was thinking it was a famous quote from a film. Seems like something that might have come out of Casablanca or something. And maybe they do say it. But it's the title of a famous French song as well. And it's about the blackout measures of the 1930s. So, another song about the darkness of war. Also, interesting that they're naming multiple episodes after SONGS.
@galadrieljones:
Hmm. The idea of them naming the episodes for songs is very intriguing. L'âme perdue is the name of several songs. As is Ame Perdue, both mean“lost soul” in French. There’s a piano piece by the German composer and popular conductor George Henschel called “L'âme perdue” but I can’t find a recording of it anywhere. Henschel was a close friend of Brahms and a knight so very popular in his time but his work doesn’t seem to be widely recorded. The song is piano w voice.
If they’re all songs, that’s fishy. Daryl isn’t a musical guy. His long lost love on the other hand…

A post totally unrelated to Gravity Falls, but I just wanna share it.
So, thanks to Chapter 03 of Poppy Playtime, I am even further invested in the lore. I was listening to another Ollie related theory video and it was there where I finally registered the tune that was used for the Hour of Joy tape.
It sounds similar to a French song, Alouette. A song about plucking the body parts -- not feathers, body parts -- of a lark.

For the kid meme: George & Jason??
omg.. thank you... ngl these two are Always on my mind!!
Name: Lark Brody
Gender: Female
General Appearance: Curly blonde hair, green eyes, lots of freckles from being out in the sun so often. Spitting image of George. She's relieved that her children didn't get Jason's stuck a fork in an electrical socket look.
Personality: Loud. A little obnoxious. Science-oriented, though not as much as her mother and brother are. Athletic and way too energetic for her own good.
Special Talents: She took to water like a fish and is a natural at swimming.
Who they like better: She is constantly clinging to George's side.
Who they take after more: Definitely Jason. She may look like George, but she is every inch her father when it comes to how she acts.
Personal Head canon: Jason's lullaby for her as a baby was Alouette, which was a bit morbid for an infant and always got him a Look(tm) from George, but it's fine. She didn't know words yet, much less the French language.

as a child I learned a song, "Alouette, gentile alouette" and... I just found out that it's a song about plucking the feathers from a lark. It's all in french and I don't speak French, so I had *no* idea, but I heard it coming from my sister's show and started wondering about it. Like, I already knew that there's a darker side to a lot of children's songs and nursery rhymes, but I just... idk, I guess I didn't expect this. It's so upbeat.

born from a passionate love affair, euprhaise to félix tholomyès and his mistress, fantine on march 18th in the year 1815. fantine nicknamed her “cosette,” meaning, “little thing.”
when she was three years old, her father abandoned her love. fantine left cosette under the care of innkeepers, monsieur and madame thénardier. the moment her mother left, the innkeepers showed their true selves and intentions. cosette was treated horribly by them. only a child, she was treated more like a misused maid.
until christmas of 1823 when jean valjean saved her. he gave her the doll she’d been eyeing in the window, who she named catherine.
to escape from his past, jean valjean took the name fauchelevent which became cosette’s surname. while he worked as a gardener, cosette studied at the convent school.
at the age of fourteen, she had grown into a beautiful young woman and valjean moved them into rue plummet. cosette took up gardening, a small look into the world. she and her papa continued to do charity work, handing out coins to beggars and feeding the hungry.
three years later, cosette fell in love with marius pontmercy, a revolutionary she met briefly at the gardens. they introduced themselves. but when cosette returned to her father, he was suspicious of the young man and warned her not to see him again.
a letter from a beggar man inspired valjean and cosette to bring warm clothes and money they didn't have to their apartment. but upon finding their home, cosette recognized the family as her former abusers. stricken by cold fear, cosette tried to warn her father. they get away. cosette begged him not to return as he said he would, but valjean insisted it was the only way to get them off their back. valjean returned, hurting from whatever happened; he spared cosette the details.
valjean left for a few days, leaving cosette behind. but one night, after receiving a letter, marius pontmercy arrived. they met up every night. valjean is alarmed by a scream and moves himself and cosette to their apartment, intending to move them to england. cosette begged him not to. she wrote a letter to marius, telling him of where she was.
the next day, the june rebellion began. marius wrote a letter back, but it never got to her. instead, valjean reads the letter and goes to find marius. he saved his life. cosette did everything she could to help marius as he mourned his friends and healed from his wounds. he proposed and she accepted.
the day of their wedding was bittersweet. before the ceremony, valjean disappeared. marius told her he went on a journey far away. it broke her heart to not have her beloved father at her wedding. afterwards, marius took her to a convent where cosette got to see her father again before he died.

It’s been almost two decades since I started reading books in English and I have to throw in the towel when it comes to bird vocabulary. English and French went in completely different directions with birds and every bird I come across in English is a total mystery. Plant names I’m often able to guess, but birds? there’s no way I could guess ‘hirondelle’ from ‘swallow’ or figure out on my own that ‘finch’ means bouvreuil and that a bergeronnette is a ‘wagtail’. I came upon ‘crake’ and pictured it as the bird we call crave, hopefully—but no, my dictionary said a crake is a marouette in French. Their ‘lark’ is our alouette, their ‘tit’ is our mésange—the worst offender is ‘nighthawk’ for ‘engoulevent’. Or ‘warbler’ for ‘paruline’. They’re so different I can never remember them and I’m resigned to picturing all the birds in anglo literature as walking (flying) question marks. It took me a whole year to realise that Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch was the book I’d seen at the library called “Le Chardonneret”...

I will pluck the feathers from your head, [...] from your eyes, [...] from your body, [...] your wings, [...]")
and I was like "I wonder what 'alouette' is in english"

https://mailchi.mp/premierguitar/hooked-videos-lindsay-ell-on-hendrix-marty-schwartz-on-led-zeppelin-butch-walker-on-joe-walsh-gina-gleason-on-pantera-and-more?e=941be062ce That is a link to a Premier Guitar promotional email from Hollywood DC terror command HQ. It arrived at 1:07 pm today. The email serves as a update or as an alternate way of saying the same commands that were presented at the White House School Opening Round table that I touched on yesterday, and explained how the First Point, Second Point, Third Point at Malibu is an established terror theme that is uses as a basis for saying terror orders, where there are rulers of the beach at First Point, there are assassins in the water at Third Point, and there victims in between at Second Point. This from PG Guitar, explains it all again, in musical terms. The first riff in the series, is from a Jimmy Hendrix song. Hendrix was one of the victims of SAG long ago, he was sent to the “27 Club” and killed by SAG. Hendrix played a right handed guitar, upside down, and left handed, throughout his career.
Jimmi Hendrix, was “Front Side, Goofy Foot”. He went “Left” at Second Point, and directly into the Drop-In at Third Point, where the Subs are at. There may be more in the presentation by the young lady, Lindsey Ell. The next thing in the PG Riff interview, is Butch Walker doing the James Gang Funk #49 riff. There is a ton of stuff going on in that presentation. Everything from that basement vibe with no windows, to that black thing on the right of the screen standing up, to the clutter that you might say is the white wash after the Wipe-Out, and more, is part of the PG Message. When you look at him, see that he is “Johnny Depp”, doing some Grunge, has thick spectacles, black horned rim, and is decidedly a Canadian terror soldier at Third Point waiting for “Larkin Poe” who will be there shortly. Butch Walker, is one of the Subs at Third Point. He uses the Funk #49 riff to help remind Canadians of the 249 inches that a “Three Point Field Goal” is measured from somewhere on the court, but seems to “Travel”, is not consistent. The game of Basketball, was invented by a Canadian, so, everything about the game of Basketball is known by the Canadian terror army. (Personally, I say just put five minutes on the clock, and start each team out with One-Hundred points, and the result will be the same as a full four quarter game). There is much to consider in that Johnny Depp/Butch Walker presentation of a James Gang/Eagles sort of vibe.                                                                                                      Baroness' Gina Gleason on Pantera's "Domination" comes next. Gina, is not easy to know what gender she is. That is part of the terror comm. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and is in a happy looking house, is a family member, and seems cool, like you could talk to her. But she is playing “Domination” by Pantera. That can’t be good, and she is secretly attracted to Dime Bag Daryl. Her Dad must be having a heart attack trying to keep her safe. Gina, is headed directly for those Long Boarders at First Point, and will be chased back into the line-up at Second Point for the taking when the next set comes rolling in.
There is an “Intermission” right there in the promotion from Revv Amplification. That is the time period when those First Point Long Boarders are going to have their way with Gina, before tossing her back into the Second Point line-up for the next Set of Swells, where by that time, she is sure to be “Front Side, Goofy Foot” and headed Left, into the path of “Johnny Depp and the Subs” who are playing at the “Third Point Drop-In at The Bu”.
Next in the PG command, is Marty Schwartz. Marty is a You Tube personality who goes back a long way with Google. He is different, is cool, knowledgeable, and is representative of the News Media in the comm from PG. Marty plays a Led Zeppelin number, “Over the Hills and Far Away” while talking about a Mexican Camping Trip. The truth about the place he dscribed, is that place is Ventura County Line Beach, which is Over the Hills and Far Away from Malibu. News Media is ready with a lot of Bullshit stories to draw attention away from Malibu, and the taking of the school students that is represented by all of this coded comm, and from the White House presentation yesterday. Profit, and human victims is the goal of the WH terror cell working with the SAG News and entertainment industry professionals.
Is that a “Bowler” Marty is wearing? Marty Schwartz represents the Bullshit story that will draw investigative people to some other place, Over the Hills and Far Away from where the Murders are happening.
Larkin Poe comes next in the line-up from PG. The two sisters may be a dual representation, portraying both Victim, and “Trusted Friend” of Victims, for the comm. Wear double vision glasses to see what is happening with those two.
“The Lark” is a popular song that almost everyone knows of. “Alouette” Alouette, gentille alouette Alouette, je te plumeraiJe te plumerai la tête Je te plumerai la tête Et la tête! Et la tête! Alouette, Alouette! Oh, oh, oh, oh Etcetera and so on... Larkin Poe, is French Speaking terrorists doing cover versions of Edgar Allen Poe. Use that to help understand what some of the symbolism is. Alouette means “The Lark” in English, and is more important to consider than just right here, it is a big deal in terror comm. Look at the young lady’s slide guitar. It’s all beat up, and that neck pick-up is weird, she covers it up, hides the sore, wounded parts. Georgia Peaches in an All-Man Brothers Riff. “Eat a Peach” while looking at the Twitter news from Reuters UK about restaurants reopening that are circulating today. There is a lot going on with the Larkin Poe show from PG. They represent the prizes, the “Spoils of War” that the terror leaders are looking for. Russian Circles on Panama is next. He “Butchers” the riff, he knows he Butchered it, he tells you that he Butchered it, and is not apologetic about Butchering the Panama Riff. There is some symbolism in the room there that leads back to Trump at the Lincoln Memorial. That record cabinet in the photo, is a Cabriolet Rag Top full of Records. You need to Quantum Leap from there, to the JFK Lincoln Continental, 1963 November, on Parade. Then, look at the top of the cabinet, see that the speakers are very small, and the record playing system is not consistent with the collection of records, is sub standard. That means: “The cabinet is not what is important here”. So, we keep looking for what we are supposed to find, and it’s that small door behind the cabinet on the wall that is barely visible. What we do, is go have a look at the photo from Trump meeting Obradoor today, for some reason, they chose to use a photo of the Lincoln Memorial.
This picture: https://twitter.com/IvankaTrump/status/1280867395691851776
Tumblr media
There, we see a White House Retweet of an Ivanka Trump Opportunity, of a Mexican Tweet in Spanish, about Mexican President Obrador standing there at the Lincoln. Take that image, and hang it on the wall behind the Russian Circles doing Panama, and Butchering it, un-apologetically. Then, see that crack in the memorial on the base, and then see the way the door looks behind that record cabinet, it looks like a crack in the wall. The meeting is said to be about immigration, but there is a crack in the wall. Take all of that, put it into a Lincoln Continental Convertible, with Ghislaine Maxwell driving, and go to Disneyland. There, enjoy the Main Street USA attraction called Gettysburg Address. From there, you have to have some inside knowledge to know that there is a secret door on the revolving stage of the Gettysburg Address that leads to where the terror leadership at Disneyland Buena Park is at much of the time. There, you will find the evidence of “Partners”. Of kidnapped US Citizen park goers, who were surgically changed by force, to no longer appear as though they are human beings. From there, I leave the rest of the decode to more qualified people who actually have some authority to do some National Security work, and stop the madness. End terror report: 4:13 pm.
