They don’t get to take away the off-season shenanigans. How this family leaves one another, just for a little bit, always promising to return.

Jess and Lupe’s adventures in New York. The slowest slow burn to ever slow burn.

Greta and Jo reconnecting. Apologizing. Growing.

They don’t get to take away Carson and Greta coming back to each other. However and whenever that may be. Promising to never let each other go ever again.

They don’t get to take away our joy, our freedom.

The endless, beautiful ways to be queer, despite everything in the world that wants us to be quiet, to disappear.

I think the fact that Carson hasn't picked up on anyone's queerness has less to do with gaydar and more to do with the fact that se thinks she's the only person in the world that feels like she does. She's grown up not even knowing that being gay is possible until she meets Greta, who seems like the most amazing person on the planet because she feels The Same as Carson does. It would never occur to Carson that anyone else is gay because she's always felt isolated in her attraction to women and I think the show does a good job of showing how hard it is to break yourself of the feeling that you are alone and broken and weird for being gay. There's a reason that the shot of her realizing she's in a gay bar starts with a tight shot of her, jess, and lupe and then widens to include other people.
