Hot take: Sam wanted Dean too.

Look, as much as I like one-sided wincest I just can't see them that way. It's definitely interesting to think about, and there are times in cannon when I can see this being supported, but I personally think that Sam was harboring non-brotherly feelings toward Dean as well.

Possibly the strongest support this has in cannon is with the Sam-Ruby dynamic. Ruby is canonically a stand-in for Dean, and Sam himself states that he sees her that way. Ruby intentionally dresses like Dean, acts like Dean, and says the things that Dean would say. To look at it another way, Ruby acts like Sam's ideal version of Dean. This is exactly what the siren does with Dean later on. Narratively, Ruby and the siren are paralleled, and this is even more emphasized with the bait-and-switch that happens in the siren's episode.

Was there an imbalance? Sure. Sam and Dean are different levels of weird about each other, but they are both weird about each other.

I might make a follow-up post to this at some point with more examples, but I just wanted to explain my position a bit since I've been seeing a lot of people say that mutual wincest isn't supported in cannon.

Ok, I've had this Wincest MPreg Idea in my head for like EVER and finally thought I'd share. Here goes:

When Sam heads off to college, Dean does his best to hide the pang of loneliness settling in his chest. However it isn't until his phone rings in the dead of night— Sammy's shattered voice in the other end— does Dean feel a pain that twists much deeper. By morning, he’s at Stanford, ready to take his baby brother wherever he needs to go; so when Sam directs him to an ab*rtion clinic Dean questions nothing.

Offering no explination in return, the two part ways leaving a deafening silence in their wake.

Giving way a year later, Dean shows up unannounced, armed with a single question— one that could change their relationship forever. Will Sam’s answer be what Dean hopes for? Will Dean regret not asking sooner? And if given the chance to rewrite history, would either of them dare to do anything differently?

What do we think? I'm thinking about doing something simple on AO3, but if I do it won't be for a while— I have like 13 other things I'm trying to finalize for AO3 first (some of which are Wincest...lol).

Just to preface, this isn't an ABO fic— however, male pregnancies are still possible in this AU, just not as common as standard pregnancies.

I'm thinking PreCanon (potentially und3rage 🔞... Shhhh). Very angsty/teenage dirt bag vibes. Doe-eyed Sammy gets hold of a camcorder one summer and never seems to put it down. Dean sneaks a peak at what Sam's been up to and decides to give his little Sammy what he wants. But of course in the spirit of fairness, Sam has to take a turn in front of the camera as well....
