i'll never get over how fascinating eliot's characterization as a hitter. obviously he's trained- military, hand to hand, weaponry, martial arts- that's to be expected. but so often I think in media about like. the Best Hitters in this genre and etc they're characterized by like? not getting hit. they're sooo good that the avoid every punch and catch every kick in mid air and dodge bullets and etc and that's not Eliot at all. he lets himself get punched in the face. he gets kicked and bowled over and uses that shift in momentum to his advantage. he gets knocked to the ground and the guys he's fighting think he's down for the count for only one moment before Eliot Spencer gets back up. because he always gets back up- but that character trait is Only compelling IF he gets knocked down enough for it to MATTER. and he DOES! and his fighting skills- they're not innate, they're not a natural inclination to fighting, its training and knowledge- he can talk about details and styles at length, he can (and does!) teach the others how to take and throw a punch, which speaks even more to his skill and knowledge and ability. he's the hitter because he's been doing it so long. because he fights to survive and he isn't afraid to get hit and lose the fight to win the battle. god. Eliot Spencer. character of all time

Post-Chuck Sam is worried about Dean's health now that they don't have their plot armour. So, Sam starts diffusing Dean's anger the moment he can feel it mounting by causing a diversion.

Dean is getting frustrated because they are out of leads on a case? Sam walks up to him, kisses him sloppy and runs his fingers through his hair. They part and Sam gives him a loving smile as he fixes Dean's hair before getting back to what he was doing. Dean gets back to his research with a dopey smile, full of serotonin and a little turned on.

Dean is about to snap at an artefact they found in the bunker because he can't figure out what it does? Sam acts like he can't read the tense atmosphere in the room when he walks in shirtless and all doe-eyed. When Dean sees him all anger disappears from his face. Sam lures him to their bedroom and the artefact is left forgotten.

Dean doesn't discover the ploy until months later. He's getting frustrated while Sam is away on a supply run and suddenly, completely out of the blue, he's hard and wants Sam. Sam accidentally Pavloved him into getting turned on when he's mad.

Sam apologises between uncontrollable fits of laughter but Dean isn't laughing. "This isn't funny, Sam! Monsters aren't going to take me seriously if I pop a boner while I'm trying to kill them!" Sam howls in laughter at the mental image.

I saw this on Reddit the other day. Oh my gods, this would be a hilarious reboot! I thought these Sam and Dean AU were a riot, and I can almost guarantee Jared and Jensen had a ball playing such different versions of their characters.

Like a mini-series. That would be fun.

what if long before their relationship being outright sexual or romantic, sam recognizes the emotional incest and how possessive dean is. he learns how different it’s supposed to be during college, but by that time it’s too late. so now, when sam goes back to hunting with dean, he has to deal with their weird relationship while dean doesn’t even recognize that it’s weird, and oops, now sam’s in love with his brother.

The reason wincest WORKS and is valid and the people who like it are not insane/incestuous (even though some losers *read hellers* may disagree) is solely because of jared and jensen and THEIR dynamic and the energy they put into THEIR characters.

Anyone who has siblings can attest to the fact that regular run-of-the-mill normal siblings do not act like Sam/Dean in any way. Not even close. Canon salmondean relationship weirdness/gencest/weirdcest crawled so that fanon wincest could walk. Why is this hard to wrap your head around. People who enjoy/ship wincest are not gross incestuous fucks. They are people who read into the subtext (and sometimes even the in-your-face text) on a Gothic horror show about Super Weird brothers cruising through the American country to kill things that go bump in the night.

Because really, do you and your brother/sister run around doing absolutely everything together? Do you self insert yourself into your sibling's life because you want to have the absolute final say about their actions and decisions?? Forsake multiple romantic relationships in favour of being with each other??? Coop up, isolate yourselves and play house with each other and compare yourselves to married couples/people in relationships???? because if you do, YOU ARE WEIRD much like sam and dean.

Real non-incestuous siblings are usually Normal About Each Other. Get that through your thick skull.

I wish the show (at least up until season 7, where I’m at rn) had included more cohabitation scenes—like sam sneaking some vegetables onto dean’s plate, dean barging into the bathroom while sam’s in the shower (he has zero concept of privacy when it comes to sam), or sam making space for dean at the sink when he sees him stumble out of bed in the morning

I mean, these two have been living together in two square meters of space their entire lives and you want me to believe they haven’t developed their own little routine? one that would probably make anyone who doesn’t know them feel awkward, because watching them move around each other in the same space would feel downright intimate? you want me to believe they’ve been crisscrossing the country with nothing but a backpack and still can tell exactly which underwear belongs to who?

BIG FACTS. I actually have a theory about that.... Let's begin shall we:

Early Seasons Sam was scrappy. He was a snarky little brat who wanted independence. But in hindsight, he was also still learning more about himself. He was still coming into his own and finding how he fit into the world. So when push came to shove (often in the form of Dean, but also John) Sam put up a fight. It just that when it came to Dean, let's just say big brother held more authority over Sam than he'd like to admit, so he'd eventually give in.

Now, Older Seasons Sam is a different girl. She's been around the block more than once and has more than a few battle scars. I mean for fuck's sake she's been to hell and back- that's trauma.... Now in order to combat that, Sam tries to make himself small (we all know this), so when Big Brother Dean comes in with his domineering personality, Sam is cool with taking a back seat. Dare I say he enjoys it on occasion even if that old bratty attitude likes to say otherwise.

So, in conclusion: Older Seasons Sam is DEFINITELY more submissive than he was in Early Seasons. Some people may bitch and moan about how it made Sam appear wimpy/whiney towards the end, but I think it works well with the story line. Our Sweet Summer Child practically had the fight beaten out of him.. So what if Dean rocking him to sleep with his face buried in the sheets is how he copes. 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

I still think early seasons Dean would manhandle and have older seasons Sam on his back with his long legs wrapped around Dean’s waist as he absolutely rails him into oblivion. It doesn’t matter if Dean is younger, older, taller, shorter he is Big Brother and Sam is Baby Brother and he is face down ass up for him as soon as Dean gives him a look
