Echo

He watches, admiring how patterns slowly form from what you do, shapes. Time flies by, he doesn't even realize how long he's been sitting there until Tech impatiently calls out to him. Startled, Echo jumps up. "I'm coming!" You grin and look after him, naturally enjoying every bit of his attention, even if he's just watching you silently, fascinated. When he discovers the pretty woolen blanket you crocheted for him in his bunk that evening, he beams all over his face. "You made this for me?" "Of course," you say with a big smile. And of course, he snuggles up in his bunk with you to break in the new blanket.

Wrecker

As Omega has his Lula most of the time, you have crocheted a new one for Wrecker, as true to detail as possible. You don't want him to miss his old Lula. His eyes are almost overflowing with joy. "My own Lula? Just for me?" You beam at him happily and nod. "Just for you, big guy" Wrecker laughs and looks at your gift with a heart swelling with affection. Tech

Everything that is new and that he doesn't know or hasn't learned yet fascinates him. Tech watches you for a while and then tries it out for himself. His dexterous fingers and alert mind quickly get the hang of it. It becomes a shared hobby that you practice together in quiet hours, sometimes you talk, sometimes you just enjoy each other's presence in silence, smiling at each other from time to time. Tech is always happy to receive any gift, but especially those made with care and love. He uses every blanket, every scarf and everything else you crochet for him only too gladly and with pride. He has someone by his side who cares about him, and these little gifts show that clearly for all to see. Tech really enjoys that.

Crosshair

Don't be fooled by his critical look, you should know by now that he almost always looks like this. His eyes follow the movements of your fingers with interest. Maybe he'll ask you a question or two about where you learned to do this, for example. However, he doesn't like to share your attention, not even with objects, so he may try to distract you from time to time because he wants you to engage with him. Sometimes he's a bit like a child who needs your attention. But in quiet moments he will sit with you, let you lean against him and watch you calmly. You know he's not the type for blankets, cuddly toys or scarves. So you've crocheted him the CF99 emblem with his name on it using the finest wool. As he accepts the gift, he looks at you questioningly and a little surprised. " I want you to always carry something of mine with you," you say gently. A smile twitches at the corners of his mouth as he tucks it under his armor. Since that day, he always carries the emblem with him, no matter where he goes.

Mayday

The moments you can enjoy in peace, you often have your legs tangled together while you crochet, covered with several of your homemade blankets, snuggled up together. Barton IV is a damn cold planet. Mayday likes to watch you and chat with you while you crochet. He is happy about every gift, scarves, gloves, hats, sweaters, because as I said before, it's damn cold on Barton IV and the Empire doesn't take very good care of its clones. His brothers also enjoy the little gifts you give them. You feel so sorry for the men who have to freeze so much at work every day. Mayday's heart is always beating faster when you crochet something new for him or his men. "You have far too soft a heart," he says gently. You smile and say, "Only because you keep it so nice and warm every day"

Elvis arriving in Hawaii January 9, 1973

On January 9, 1973 (one day after his birthday), Elvis Presley arrives in Hawaii for his televised concert "Aloha From Hawaii" due to January 14.

This is my favorite set of pictures of Elvis. I feel like having a room with all those pictures around (walls to roof, lol). They have such a joyful energy to me. 🥹 Although all his pictures in Hawaii are incredibly perfect I love the January 1973 ones more than anything else so I tried to put the pictures together in a logical sequence of what I figured happened in that moment: Elvis arriving by helicopter, getting out of it, meeting with fans and talking to the press, then hopping in a car and heading to the hotel.

And the most special part of this post comes right away. I'm so happy to share this with you! I FOUND A FEW PICTURES OF ELVIS WITHOUT THE LEIS ON! Maybe some of you have seen it before but it's a first for me, so here it goes (E was wearing an interesting necklace):

A few months ago I noticed in one of the pictures from that day that Elvis was wearing (underneath a thick layer of leis) a beautiful black shirt with a white lines and red dots pattern, but there was only a thin bit of the shirt that was in sight. It's a shame the pictures I found are blurred but still... I'm happy you have no idea. I think E barely left the helicopter and a whole bunch of flowers were thrown around him immediately, which would explain those pictures not being so easy to find (and not having many of them to find) — But hey, no complains from me... the leis hold a very special meaning and they look great on Elvis, of course, but I was dying to see the full outfit and I guess some of you might have been too.

Hi DS, How would you say "Drink!" as a command? I have created a mace in my D&D game with my sons and the mace has a head shaped like a keg. After soaking it in ale, you can speak the command word to intoxicate your target. The mace's name is "Inebriator". If you can translate that to Khuzdul as well, I would greatly appreciate it. :-) Thanks!

First off — what a brilliant idea. A keg-headed mace, soaked in ale, with a command that intoxicates your foes? That’s a thing of Dwarven legend already. Let’s forge the words to match!

🍺 “Drink!” — The Imperative Form

In Neo-Khuzdul, direct commands are issued in the imperative mood — used when speaking to someone with certainty and authority. Think of it as the verbal equivalent of slamming your tankard on the table.

The root for to drink is SH–L–K, and following the imperative iCCiC pattern for triliteral roots, we get:

ishlik — “Drink!” (when addressing one person)

ishlikî — “Drink (you all)!” (when addressing more than one)

These are precise, commanding, and exactly the kind of phrase you’d use when activating a magical weapon. No room for misinterpretation.

⚒️ A Note on Imperative vs. Jussive

You might’ve seen another form used in Khuzdul that looks like a command but is actually something else — that’s the jussive mood. It’s softer, more formal or ceremonial, often meaning “may (one) do X” or “let them do Y.”

For example:

shamukh — “Let all greet”

This is not an order, but a polite suggestion, - and on a side note "shamukh" has over time it become the go-to Dwarvish greeting or farewell, similar to “Aloha” or “Shalom.” Whether meeting at the forge or parting at the gate, the jussive form shamukh has become a phrase of kinship and shared honour.

🧪 “Cause to Drink Ales” — The Causative Mood

Now we get to the fun part: if your mace causes someone to drink, we use the causative mood.

Using the root for ale (Z–L–L), the causative forms are:

zullutha — “It (undoubtedly) causes (all) to drink ales” (Causative Perfect — used for dependable truths)

tazlalthi — “It (vividly) causes (all) to drink ales” (Causative Imperfect — used for ongoing vivid realities)

These might be ideal for naming the weapon itself. Both sound arcane and impactful, while remaining faithful to Neo-Khuzdul grammar.

🪓 Overview of Suggested Names

Zullutha — “It causes to drink ales” — dependable, final

Tazlalthi — “It is causing to drink ales” - Ongoing, vivid

Ashlak — “The Drinker” (non-person form) Zabsh Ushlak — “Drinker’s Mace” (person form and object)

Jalazululôn-Zabsh - “They become very drunk – Mace” — evocative of the aftermath

💡 Jalazululôn comes from the allied verb jala- (completely, whole, in one go), in combination with the 3rd person plural dependable Perfect form. It’s a dependable punchy way of implying: “Smacked by this mace? You’re gone.” It’s the kind of name that sounds like a challenge and a warning all at once — perfect for a Dwarven weapon carried into battle (or a tavern brawl).

Hime Shirayuki / Cure Princess

The main character of this season.

The ONE actually GOOD character in this season. (I am firmly on the train that Hime should have been the pink lead instead of Megumi)

And spoilers, the only one who pulls off this uniform.

Like, unlike Lovely, she's actually wearing it in just enough of unique ways to gives us some insight on her character.

It's not a Beauty case where the uniform itself makes sense, BUT it's still nice on her.

I really like the tie. Mostly cause it covers up that mid part of the vest.

I love that her shoulders are feathery and cloud-like. She is the princess of the Blue SKY Kingdom after all.

I think the blue looks really good in contrast of this vest.

These shoes are the only shoes of this team that actually LOOK like legit shoes. Mostly cause they're ankle length and folded properly.

I don't know how I feel about these stockings though.

For one, it's a dark blue that's nowhere else, I feel like they should've just been black. And two, I think these would look better as tights.

I really like the feathery cuffs on her, and how the color matches her hair.

Princess's hair is the ONLY hair on this team with some actual thought put into it.

The fringe is fluffy and light, like her kingdom inspiration and her shoulders.

She has A CROWN on her head.

BECAUSE SHE'S A PRINCESS.

There's something about her character here!

She looks like a spoiled little brat. Which she is.

Also, these pigtails really work for me with how they're stylized.

Especially with these loose ribbon parts at the ends looking SO GOOD.

She also fights with this hair. Literally. So, you know. Based department.

I actually quite like this on her.

A Tier.

Wow, even in the design department, more thought was put into Hime than anyone else.

Okay, so Hime has a Swan Lake themed ballerina form, and a Hawaiian hula dancer form.

Let's start with the ballerina one, called Sherbet Ballet.

It's cute. I do like it.

I don't really like the gloves she has going on. I think the puffy piece on one of her wrists is awkward.

And these white pieces on her shoes are also very big it's awkward.

But the rest of it is really cute.

I really love the swan feathery bow, along with the matching feathery pattern on her belt and her lower skirt layer. This is a really nice way to separate color.

I really like the hair. I like this bun and the hair piece she has going on.

A Tier. Really nice.

Next is Macadamia Hula Dance.

I actually had to look this up cause I could not remember what it was called. I thought it was called Hawaiian Aloha, but no, that's the attack name.

I don't like this nearly as much.

I've been to Hawaii. They don't dress like this.

The skirt is way too busy. I don't like the bows on it over complicating things.

I don't know why she's wearing sleeves or tights. It's HULA DANCING.

These frilly pieces are so awkward because they're white and not green. You know THE COLOR OF GRASS.

And I don't even know what these hair strands of her hair are (not her pigtails).

I think the biggest complaint I have with it is just that Hime does not look good in green. Her light blue hair is not working with these greens and this white.

There's a reason why her head piece in her OG design is gold and dark blue, because white just gets lost in her hair.

Sherbet Ballet could get away with the white because her hair was tied up in a bun. This has no excuse.

C Tier. Not really a fan.

And finally, we have Innocent Princess.

That sounds so wrong to say.

Same issues Lovely's has. Too much white.

On Hime especially this doesn't look good because her hair is bordering white as well. I don't like how they're stranded like this.

Are these wings...? They're badly designed either way.

And these shoes with these random tiny details??

D Tier. Ew.

Yeah, I prefer Sherbet Ballet over these other ones by a landslide.

But still, in terms of OG, not bad for the main character of the season.

Yes that is how I feel about her. She is not only the one unironically GOOD character in this season, AND she's the driving force of the entire story. She's the one with the emotional stakes to the plot, and the character development, and the ties to the sixth ranger of the season. Megumi is just there to be her first friend.

She might be one of the best blue Cures if I'm being honest.
