Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed.
Most putts don't drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Most beaches are patrolled by Portuguese men-o-war.

Vesti la Giubba is the from the opera Pagliacci , and one of the most famous arias. In this song the protagonist, Canio, gets ready for a performance, all the while dealing with the discovery of his wife’s infidelity. The duality of a clown and sorrow is already a gut punch; Spanish performer Placido Domingo takes it a step further with his fantastic voice control, each note sounding like he’s on the verge of crying.

Placido Domingo and Pagliacci are names that have broken containment in a big way from the opera community out into the rest of the world, and a lot of that is due to Domingo’s preformance here and the other recordings of it that are also just plain perfection.
On that front, sort of at least, I would love to be a fly on the wall at Kelsey Grammer’s office or wherever he’s at when he gets a call from the producers of the Simpsons to see if he’s free do a episode or two.
They’re always fun and just great to watch but sometimes there’s just a bunch of buffoonery and other times there’s this kind of buffoonery, which hopefully the time skip gets to.

If not the good™ stuff starts at 1:11 and the good good stuff a little bit after
Probably out there and I just haven’t bothered to look, but I’m just imagining that MdFarland doing Italian opera would be a treat to hear.
I know Mike Paton of Faith No More fame is at least, guys got a wider vocal range than Barbara and can switch from screaming to soulful in a heartbeat

One of the most iconic shots in “Yojimbo” — it is a wide, desolate extreme wide shot where Toshiro Mifune’s Sanjuro stands alone in a ruined street. It’s the ultimate "calm before the storm" moment. The sheer emptiness of the shot, the dust swirling, the stillness—it’s all building to an explosion of violence.
Of course, this shot is legendary and endlessly homaged, most famously by Sergio Leone. But Kurosawa doesn’t just give us a cool standoff—he lets the moment breathe. The silence hangs, stretching anticipation like a drawn blade.
