As a former horse girl I love the Binghorses drawn by @meltedmush because every weird and cryptid suggestion and art of them just existing makes me stop and go: no wait horses will just do that. Horses are so weird. Horse behavior is so much

Horses will just stare at you through a window and if they're smart they can figure out certain doors. There is a specific kind of surreal of watching a horse walk into your house that is both very cute and cursed. SQQ could totally wake up to a Binghorse having broken into his house and staring at him

Horses also are weird and poorly designed biologically so if they sit for too long they can actually crush their organs and won't be able to stand up again. So I can see SQQ fretting over a bingfoal and asking if they're okay. Also they don't have the ability to sense being full. It is completely possible for a horse to eat too much and die. So again fretting mother hen SQQ planning special Binghorse diet only for Binghorse to come back and drop a dead bird in front of him.

It is completely plausible that SQQ can look up one day and see a binghorse sitting in a tree. Both cows and horses will climb trees. Goats too. I don't know why. They just will. The horse loose in a hospital bit is funny because horses on their own will just do that. They do just end up in places. It feels absurd but it's true. Getting jumped scared by a Binghorse totally believable.

Imagine that SQQ sees a Binghorse with a broken leg! The death knell of any normal horse. He can frett over those beautiful terribly designed legs as Binghorse is kept suspended in a swing thing.

And then the moment you combine omnivore snatch hunter it gets even funnier because I'm certain a real horse would if it could. The fact that people are in any way convinced horses are just cute and sweet and not weird terrifying little horrors of biology will never not be funny.

#svsss #binghorse #for the record i learned horseback riding from a poly couple who worked ren fair as a kid #and like it was so weird #SO WEIRD #like watching a 2 year old black clydsdale horse just walk into a horse on its own accord and just steal a coke can will never leave me #like imagine being 9 and seeing a juvenile horse that is still 3x your height squeezing through a screen door #i brought this up with my mom about the horse breaking into a house and she said he was actually a friesian #absolutely beautiful and a complete brat #also the willingness of horses to just be covered in dirt and dust #youll clean a horse ride for 2 hrs let em loose and come back to them covered in mud and grime #my mom and i went on a whole journey to remember this horses name #it was soujke. he was such an ass #im imaging sqq doing hoof cleanings for binghorse #and brushing his skin pelt before and after a ride #soujke was so much. he almost died of collick because he kept laying on his side #horses are so dumb

so i bought this off ebay because i really enjoyed i, robot and, more importantly, the cover is just beautiful 🥰 but i was delighted to find it was illustrated throughout, including these amazing chapter headers!!!

(haven’t started the book at all yet but it was worth the money already lol)

excuse the quick sketch, for this post is less about the art and more about the idea behind it... i have this headcanon from when geralt's company was trekking with the beekeepers through the wilderness:

although they were initially very grateful to have three meals a day prepared for them, they quickly got sick of having honeyed porridge served for all three of them. "Everything was sticky from the honey, even the young women." milva began to get nauseous at mealtimes, and cahir, usually ravenous at mealtimes as befits a strapping young lad such as he, even turned down a few bowls.

regis, however, was quite happy with it.

because, as is mentioned later in the book, about saovine traditions: "The spirits of the dead (...) should be given honey and groats, all sprinkled with vodka…" i imagine some confusing night where he went into a villager's hut to drink blood, but, it was around saovine, so they were even expecting someone like him to arrive and to even be looking for such a thing. prepared for such a situation, they handed him some kasza with honey. he didn't really know what to do with it, but they instructed him on how to eat... it was surprisingly pretty good, so he started pulling this on all the other villages, like hey i;m "undead" (whatever that means) do you have any "porridge" with "honey." yeah also put a little vodka on it while you're at it.

so honeyed groats turned out to be the first human food he ate, and over time, became like a comfort food to him. now he has it without the vodka though

#i also have just been thinking of like. the company travelling together is almost downright domestic #except for the part where they don't have a house lol #you know what i mean. that they 'sleep under the same blanket at night'#they all sleep and wake at the same time and have to get dressed in the morning #we see their night routine more but they must also have morning routine #and i know geralt wakes everyone up early to cover more miles lol #this is probably why they enjoyed beauclair so much because their breakfast on the road was always hasty #but yeah like... i mean they don't have pajamas i'm assuming but it's like in a little sacrifice when dandelion takes off his jerkin and ha #like ... i don't know maybe because only child syndrome and i did not do sleepovers except once or twice #but you're just going to coordinate your sleep routines and like get undressed and dressed and stuff together #and then on top of that from the perspective of 'hey remember one of your company members is a vampire'#regis flipped his entire circadian rhythm upside down to live amongst humans #regis is the friend in the group chat who is in the opposite timezone #and also. to me it is just funny and weird to think of a vampire waking up and eating breakfast like a human #i mean i know it's regis so it's not surprising. it's just a somehow interesting mental image #like so you're telling me he doesn't just manifest like that in dark cloak and all. he's got to tie his shirt up and pull his boots on #i blame the discussion of beach episode hanza some weeks prior. the regis in a tanktop image is haunting me. in a good way #me: 'well it's just like ive never seen him wear a tanktop' ... 'i guess ive never seen him bc he's a fictional character but'#'ive never seen your arms above your elbows before and it's kind of weirding me out'#it's weird i'm curious like a child about it. maybe i have mental problems that come from american media sexualizing any nudity #my art #c: regis #emiel regis

I heart AI soo much and there is also no going back to the world before but There are abundant knockdown effects of ai that will be absolutely gutting losses that deserve and in fact urgently require attention but the like anti ai side is so like lame and also (this is a strong word but its how i feel) repulsive and like weirdly full of ressentiment so they need better messengers and also frankly better constituents as well in order to make their important case well bc they r not making it well right now
