Question: who is Ivy Belfrey in OUAT? and what is her relation to Regina? I haven't followed anything and this last season seems really weirder on tumblr... but nope not going back... but I love the actress so I was wondering... thx: )

I thought the same, about not going back to Ouat after not watching it for a loooooong time but, damn was I wrong. This season is AMAZING. Not only because it is a reboot, but because the vast majority of new characters/actors are awesome.

Ok so, spoilers ahead.

Ivy Belfrey is the counterpart of Drizella Tremaine, one of Cinderella’s stepsisters, daughter of Lady Tremaine aka Rapunzel (yep, confusing but believe me, it all makes sense). Lady Tremaine is an ass who only loves one of her daughters, so Ivy wants to make her pay because, mommy issues. Since Ivy has magic, Mother Gothel (Rapunzel’s bad witch) uses her, manipulating her and her hatred on her mother, so they can cast the new curse.

All in all, is kinda like Regina in the first seasons. That’s why her relationship with Regina is like teacher/disciple. Regina wanted to help her control her magic and make her good, but as always, having an asshole for a mother and someone manipulating you, makes you be a vengeful badass. She ends up being one of the good guys, tho, because Gothel is the real motherfucker of the show.

If I were you, I would give this season a chance!

Out of curiosity can i ask what draws you to writing for the Catherine/Jane pairing? (btw I read your Xena pics and bless you for taking two of my favourite AUs and running with them!)

@allmykindsofthings was the progenitor of this pairing, and when I first heard about it, I had an oh wow kind of moment. On the face of it they seem polar opposites: a woman of faith and peace believing in the goodness of people, and a woman who deals with violence practically every day, who has been permanently wrecked by trauma in her own life. But the interesting bond between them, I think, is that they both work within patriarchal systems of power that are inherently, historically inimical toward any kind of systemic change or reform. So I was interested in seeing how a relationship could develop between these two women of somewhat different beliefs and views but similar circumstances.

And yeah, I thought they’d be hot together.

Sounds you hate/love?

I hate the sounds of crunching gears, when you don’t put the clutch in properly. New one for me since passing my test. The sound of nails on a chalk board. The sound of metal scraping on metal (thanks Granddad for that one - he ignored us when we said he was too close to the wall on a multistory car park *shudder*, sound has stayed with me over ten years). White noise. 

I love the sound of jazz music, my clarinet when I play low notes, guitar riffs. Scottish accent. The sound of my phone alarm pinging to tell me that my food has finished in the oven (I have ADHD and dyspraxia so I can’t concentrate long enough and usually forget I have food in the oven if I cook without it). The sea, and wind on a summers day. Birds singing, and a cats purr. 

Do you drive, and have you ever crashed?

Yes I drive, no thankfully I have never crashed while driving. Nearly a few times but never actually crashed thank God. I have however been in a couple of slight collisions when someone else was driving though. 

Last book you read?

The last book I’ve actually finished reading was, jeez I can’t actually remember the last one I remember is A Picture of Dorian Grey but I know I’ve read two since that. I’m actually in the middle of four books right now, Gentleman Jack - Anne Choma, A Discovery of Witches - Deborah Harkness, Paper Ghosts - Julia Heaberlin and a Rizzoli & Isles book that I can’t remember the name of. 

Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes

Do you believe in aliens? 

Yes, the universe is massive. We can’t be ignorant enough to believe we’re the only intelligent life form. 

Do you like the smell of gasoline? 

Tbh, some days especially when I’ve got a migraine I hate it. But when I’m not so bad, I don’t really notice it.

S - show us an example of your personal headcanon

Okay well I’ve mentioned this before and I know it’s indirectly been confirmed in a way based on Facts lol but one of my biggest headcanons is that Bucky didn’t enlist but was drafted. He didn’t want to go fight, it was one of the last things he wanted to do. All he wanted was to stay home and keep his family safe and to protect Steve because god knows someone needed to be there for him to make sure he ate three square meals a day and didn’t get himself killed in an alley fight or from whatever sickness he caught next. Of course, he would never ever tell Steve that he didn’t want to fight. He’s ashamed of that, and he knows how badly Steve wants to, how high he holds soldiers and those that enlist. Bucky comes close to telling him a few times when they argue. It sits on the tip of his tongue, the one excuse that could probably get Steve off his back about his insistence that Steve stops trying to enlist. But he never tells him. He can’t tell him. Of course, Steve finds out eventually, from the museum displays and the fact that Bucky’s number started with 3 which meant he was drafted, not enlisted. He doesn’t bring it up with Bucky, but he feels a certain sadness when he looks back at everything and it fills him with an even stronger urge to destroy all of hydra.

T - if you mostly have homoships, do you have any heteroships

I do mostly have “homoships” (that’s such a weird word lol) but that doesn’t mean I don’t have “heteroships” too. A lot of them are more lowkey, like I don’t read/write for them or anything, just like them. This is minus the marvel ships bc I do kind of write them in the background lol. 

Some of which include: Pepperony; I don’t mind Steggy; Clintasha; Sam/Natasha (lowkey & idk their ship name lol); v v v v v v lowkey ship Loki/Darcy bc I’ve read it as a background pairing in fics and I liked the banter between them; Joneva; lowkey Vildus; Hinny; Peraltiago; Jess/Nick from New Girl; also Schmidt/Cece from New Girl; Leslie/Ben and Andy/April from Parks & Rec; Jim/Pam from The Office; etc.

K - how do you feel about the other people in your current fandom

In the marvel fandom, I like them for the most part. I mean obviously there are groups of like antis and shit that are super negative and stuff, but I avoid them and talk to people that are chill to make my experience better so yeah. The people I’ve met so far and have made friends with are super awesome and I’m glad to have been able to connect with them!

In the skam fandom, which I’ve got like one foot in one foot out lol, again it’s kind of the same. I made some of the best friends I’ve ever had in this fandom and I’ll forever be grateful for that. But I’ve also run into some really nasty, toxic people in this fandom as well. Like I said though, I surround myself with the good ones to make the most of my experience. 

Y - a fandom you’re in but have no ships from

Hmm, this is kind of a hard question because like, I feel like ships are kind of what pull me into a fandom. Like, a bit part of fandom for me is the writing/reading fics, which kind of wouldn’t exist without ships. So I honestly can’t think of any fandoms I’m in without ships.

I love that Happy Valley and LTiH fic writers like you have adopted Jane Oliver into the repertoire of fandom characters. From the little bit she was in Collateral I thought she was so interesting and very different from Nicola.

Agreed! Nicola did so much with so little (par for the course), and as a result the character is so intriguing that she left some of us wanting more.
