Director Wes Ball seems to have laid to rest one of the growing theories surrounding the human companion of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Mae. After seeing her dressed in more sophisticated clothes than the rags other feral humans of her century wear, many fans began to wonder if Freya Allan's character was a time-traveling astronaut, following in the steps of Charlton Heston and Mark Wahlberg. However, in a recent interview, Wes Ball elaborated that space and astronauts have a different place in future sequels.

"This [fascination with space] is in the DNA of the movies. That's what we touch on, essentially. There's more to come. If we're lucky enough, there are more ideas to come in two and three. From the very beginning, space is obviously a huge component of this thing - but I am not saying there are time travelling astronauts in this movie. There's none of that, but it's an idea in the movie for sure."

This seems a pretty clear put down of the Mae as an astronaut theory. Wherever the mysterious human with strange clothing comes from, it does not appear to be from space.

Ball is clearly leaving the door open for those missing Icarus astronauts from Rise to an appearance. Personally, I would not be surprised if there was an after credits scene in Kingdom where Noa looks up to see a space shuttle shooting across the sky. Perhaps it is spied in the telescope that Mae and Noa look at in the trailers. I'm certainly glad that this new movie will be trying to go in a different direction than the original Planet of the Apes film, and am excited to see what makes Mae 'smarter than most' of her fellow feral humans.

Comic book adaptations have become increasingly popular in recent years, with many of the biggest blockbuster movies being based on comic book characters and stories. However, not all comic book adaptations are as well-known as the likes of Spider-Man or Batman. Here are 10 movies that you may not have known were inspired by comics.

A History of Violence (2005) - Directed by David Cronenberg, this thriller stars Viggo Mortensen as a small-town diner owner with a dark past. The movie is based on a graphic novel by John Wagner and Vince Locke.

Blue is the Warmest Color (2013) - This French coming-of-age drama, directed by Abdellatif Kechiche, won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Julie Maroh.

The Crow (1994) - Directed by Alex Proyas, this gothic action movie stars Brandon Lee as a murdered musician who comes back from the dead to seek revenge. The movie is based on a comic book by James O'Barr.

Ghost World (2001) - Directed by Terry Zwigoff, this indie comedy stars Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson as two teenage misfits who struggle to find their place in the world. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Daniel Clowes.

Road to Perdition (2002) - Directed by Sam Mendes, this crime drama stars Tom Hanks as a hitman in 1930s Chicago who goes on the run with his son after a job goes wrong. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Max Allan Collins and Richard Piers Rayner.

Snowpiercer (2013) - Directed by Bong Joon-ho, this post-apocalyptic action movie stars Chris Evans as a rebellious passenger on a train that travels around a frozen world. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette.

Tamara Drewe (2010) - Directed by Stephen Frears, this British comedy stars Gemma Arterton as a young journalist who returns to her rural hometown and causes a stir. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Posy Simmonds.

2 Guns (2013) - Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, this action-comedy stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as two undercover agents who are forced to work together. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Steven Grant and Mateus Santolouco.

V for Vendetta (2006) - Directed by James McTeigue, this dystopian thriller stars Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman as freedom fighters in a totalitarian Britain. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Alan Moore and David Lloyd.

Whiteout (2009) - Directed by Dominic Sena, this thriller stars Kate Beckinsale as a US Marshal investigating a murder in Antarctica. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber.

The Other Guys (2010) 9/10 Review

The Other Guys (2010) is a movie starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell as two desk jockeys who, despite their hard work in the police department, are often left behind and the butt of jokes of the office- especially the top two highly respected cops, Danson and Highsmith. After Danson and Highsmith's deaths, Terry and Allan decide to step up and take a case to prove to everyone that they aren't just the desk jockeys they're perceived to be.

This is the second time that I've seen these two actors on screen together (Daddy's Home, anyone?) and I have to say, their chemistry was hilarious! Between Will Ferrell's mild Allen Gamble and Mark Wahlberg's fiery Terry Hoitz, the two were made for their roles! I came across this movie one night- just wanting to watch a movie and not think too much- and this is THAT movie.

I feel like if you like 21 Jump Street (starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill) or Rush Hour, you would love this movie. The humor is funny, there are more than enough action scenes and shootouts, and just whenever Hoitz and Gamble banter with each other is sure to keep you on your toes. Moreover, the co-workers interactions towards Hoitz and Gamble really make this into an underdog story.

There are a ton of pop culture references in this film that I won't name here, but if anything, they add to the appeal of the movie!

All in all, this is a movie that you SHOULD SEE AT LEAST ONCE, it's that good, honestly.

Earliest Memory: Okay, this is gonna get a tad bit depressing. So I remember watching 9/11 on tv with my grandma in the dark (my grandma turned the lights off out of respect) in the morning. I remember seeing the buildings smoking on the small little screen and my grandma holding my hand and crying. I didnt know what it was at the time (shit i probably thought it was a movie).

Dumbest Thing You've Seen/Heard/Had Happen To You At School: Too many. There's... jesus theres just too many in just high school alone. But here's a story instead: Once, in high school, I was in a class I was a TA for, sitting on the counter while the class took a test, so it was dead silent. And my mom texted me something that was so fucking funny (I tried so hard not to laugh but I couldn't help it, I basically exploded), I fell off the counter laughing and excused myself into the hallways just to explode into laughter. OR The time my new teacher got our entire class to troll one student. So this kid (let's call him Slacker) would come in late every day (or, every day that he actually decided to show up) with McDonald's (it was the first class of the day) and he would ALWAYS miss test days. So one day that was supposed to be a test day, Slacker didnt show up, and our teacher (this man was a fucking LEGEND) was like "if you see Slacker, tell him we took the test today, but we're actually gonna take it tomorrow" and we did. So the next day, Slacker walked in 15 mins late, McDs in hand, and we all just kinda smirked at him and we took the test and damn he was PISSED. But sometimes he would show up for school, but instead of coming into class he would wander the halls, singing hella off-key and super loud. And we all knew it was him, too because security would chase him when he sang too loud and they found him. It was great. Except our last names were similar so everyone always thought we were twin brother and sister, because even though we looked alike, we were completely different. No. If he was my brother, I would've put his ass up for adoption a long time ago.

Uncharted Movie Delayed Again for Seemingly Billionth Time

The Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg-led Uncharted movie based on the hit game franchise has once again been delayed, this time only by three months.

Sony and PlayStation Productions announced Friday night that they have once again delayed the Tom Holland-led Uncharted movie, this time into 2021.

The movie, which co-stars Mark Wahlberg, is now set to hit theaters on March 5, 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film was originally set to hit theaters on December 18, 2020, meaning it was only delayed three months in total, a shorter amount of time compared to its other delays.

Currently, the film doesn’t have a director, although Venom and Zombieland: Double Tap director Ruben Fleischer has been eyed to helm the project. Back in December, Bumblebee director Travis Knight dropped out of the project after being attached to the film for three months.

Little to no news has been revealed about the movie’s reporter shoot date, but if it currently doesn’t have a director, it’s not hard to believe that the movie will probably be delayed again. And that’s giving Sony the benefit of the doubt that it’ll even be made at all considering its insanely long development period.

Remember, an Uncharted movie has been in the works in some way-shape-or-form since before the release of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on PlayStation 3 in 2009. At this point, I’ll believe the movie is happening when I’m sitting down in the theaters to watch it.

Until March, or whenever the movie eventually hits theaters, there are a few things that’ll scratch your Uncharted itch. First and foremost, if you really want to check out an Uncharted film, might I suggest the fan-film created by filmmaker Allan Ungar. In my opinion, it’s a perfect representation of the franchise and proof that a film could work.

If the games are more your speed, The Nathan Drake Collection, which comes with the story modes for the first three Uncharted games, is available right now for free if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
