Random shit, that's right. Relatable kinda shit , random funny looking pictures , memes and rants. In short everything that would show a sense of carelessness towards life and people. Because let's be honest , we all are struggling with stuff one way or another. So ig it's better to deal with that shit by making it somewhat random.
But but but, at times I may tap into my devdas zone, and post or reblog something kinda sad. ( Not negative or something devestating, just simply sad) Something that may or may not touch that hidden empty void in your heart.
🌸 there is nothing in this world that will ever come close to how much i love tulips 🌷🌷🌷

Thoughts on old Mahabharat (B.R. Chopra's I think)?
~ @nakulsword
Ooh yes, here's my thoughts:
The music, it's so soulful! My favourites are Binati Suniye Naath Humari (not a surprise there :P) and Sabsau Unchi Prem Sagai (I had to look it up, but this is genuinely one of my fav Kanha songs not less because of the visuals accompanying it).
Nitish Bhardwaj as Krishna is just *chef's kiss*. He's the softer Kanha, always respectful towards elders and just overall a bit more gentle than SRJ's Krishna. Also the dark skin, my lord I am in love.
I also enjoy how they frame the whole story over Bhishma's life; it ends with his death. And I like that because I really love Mukesh Khanna as Bhishma. He's the perfect one for that powerful warrior: all anger and power when needed, but the perfect devotion when addressing Kanha, and his love for Hastinapura.
I appreciate how they stick to KMG (not everything ofc but more on that later) for some stuff. Particularly, Arjuna and Krishna returning to camp after Abhi's death leaps out. They lifted that straight from the text and I like that.
The costumes were pretty cool too, ngl. (I'm always gonna be a fan of the fact that they made Arjuna wear white, and now it's a permanent association for me.)
Arjuna and Bhishma's bond? AHHHH KILL ME. I love all those scenes T-T
I also actually love that Dhritarashtra dream sequence where Bharata and all his ancestors blame him for stuff. Say it louder for that blind fellow!
Ooh ooh and the Arjuna-Subhadra vivaha too. I love that song sequence with them in bed the first night, Subhadra being all shy and Arjuna reaching out to her.
I also loved Vidura's character! He's so much more prominent in this version and constantly advising Dhritarashtra even though he never listened to him? Ahh the tragedy.
The negatives?
Draupadi. I'm still rather upset at how they treated my queen. The dark skin is fine. She looks pretty. But they butchered her character with all those hated scenes, and just showed her as a proud woman who cared more about herself than anyone. And she doesn't even respect her husbands that much, let alone love them. To date, the only episode I can watch with her in it is the Agyatvasa one, and that's mostly because of Arjuna's presence.
Yudhishthira too. He just looks really confused most of the time, and doesn't give me the Dharmaraja vibes. If I remember correctly.
Honestly, all of the Pandavas were pretty dull iirc. Especially Nakula and Sahadeva, I genuinely can never tell them apart. I enjoyed Arjuna's and Bhima's characters mildly, but the eldest and two youngest Pandavas are so forgettable it's sad.
I don't remember too much about the antagonists. Ig Duryodhana was pretty fine, Karna.. let's not go there, more out of my own disrespect for the character than the portrayal.
I did like the war sequences but it did get repetitive after a while.
Hmm, I think that's all, really.

Heya! Thankyou @shyam-kariya for tagging me in this. Mera Aisa koi particular genre nhi hai music ka... Thoda thoda sab sun rkha h. Lemme know if u guys like my music.❣️
Accha I think for Tumblr, Hindi music would be appropriate..so here goes.
1. Aarambh ~ Piyush Mishra Hassss to be my top one..cos it gives me positive energy and motivation when I'm low.
2. Humko kiske gham ne mara~ Ghulam Ali. If u are into ghazals and sufi , I bet u will like this too... It's all the genz needs and I love it for its harmonium piece.
3. Saason ki mala pe ~ Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan A weird thing of mine, but this long masterpiece of kawali is a beautyyyyyy it's all about dedication to higher soul and I let it just play while studying.
4. Rafta rafta ~ Mehdi Hassan. Ik it's been heard on insta too much now...but hey I looooveee this beauty. It's love described in words, I think if u want to know how it feels like to fall in love, just hear this.
5. Chingari koi bhadke~kishore Kumar. Looking for a good cry after a breakup but in the retro way??? Hear it and let the flow begin... It's just pain...plain old simple sadness.
6. Jis gali mei Tera Ghar ~ Mukesh. This is just dark in it's own way although it talks about a lover, and I love it for it's darkness. Do give it a try 😁
I'm giving the links to the songs... For your easy access.
Also , I'd like my frnds to join in on this...❣️❣️ @kyunbhai @hsnaayar @anarkali-disco-chali @seedhe-pahad-se @itsshivam05 @aahanna @hum-aapke-hain-kaun @emartirabdi (apologies if I forgot someone)

How would you describe Jim Hammond's character? Please and thank you.
JIM!!! I love Jim very much, and thank you for letting me wax poetic about his character. I love so many things about the character but to describe him I would say that the surface level is not who the character is. Many other characters and fans look at Jim like he's the nice guy, he's chill and laid back but that's only because he's often in the presence of Namor who anyone would look very calm next to, lol.
So I often feel there's two eras of Jim's character, the Golden Age/Invaders Jim who is much more fiery and cheeky. He's more hotheaded and I feel a lot of it ties into him being very new to the world so it hasn't worn him down yet and he's very curious during this era, like a puppy who can set things on fire. However the second era of Jim's character has a more somber air to him, like he's been through A LOT, he's been through so much. Being deactivated and reactivated and killed and brought back quite a few times that by the time we get to what is my favorite times of Jim (The Torch/Secret Avengers/All New Invaders) he is just "Old Man" vibes, like all he wants is to pet his cats and live a good life but he can't stay away from super heroics.
Jim is a good man with a good heart but he's often lost in his own thoughts about the world, his place in it, and what it means to be human. It's why Marvel has Frankenstein's Monster or Pinocchio references to Jim because he is looking for his soul or wants to be a real human. Jim's character arc is often tied to his humanity and whether or not he has a soul or is human. It's also tied to the fact he self scarifies himself to save the world or his friends.
Jim is a good man but also he won't hesitate to do something like burn Hitler to death, or threaten to give someone cancer because they killed his friend. So like I said, the surface of easy smiles, quiet, good guy Jim doesn't show his whole character, and because Jim was programmed to absorb behaviors and knowledge from the people around him and I feel a lot of his good cheer comes from his son, Toro. WHO I SHOULD MENTION IS A MATCHED SET, YOU DO NOT SEPARATE, BRING BACK TORO TO JIM MARVELLLL!!! I seriously LOVE Jim and Toro being a family and need more of it. But yeah getting back to Jim, like most times his bastardy cheeky side comes out when he's around Namor.
Namor says Jim brings out the best in him but I feel the opposite is also true, that Namor brings out the asshole side of Jim, like he's all nice to other people but Namor can handle his real personalty and it's just very interesting to me to see that.
So what I feel most of Marvel gets wrong about Jim is that they keep calling him an Android but imo Jim isn't just your run of the mill Android, and I wish Marvel would go back to calling him The Synthetic Man, again because it's much more interesting than lumping Jim in with a bunch of other androids. That also includes ditching the whole "robot insides" they often do, and make up something more interesting for the Horton Cells.
Ok, because this is getting long, let me wrap up, because otherwise I would go on. lol.
I see Jim's character as a still pool of water, where you think you know everything but it's much deeper than you would think and it's just fascinating to me because usually characters who are associated with fire have this trope of being too hotheaded and impulsive but Jim is an old man, a dad, and grandfather type to all the kids (and cats) he manages to collect.
And if you haven't read it then PLEASE read Marvel (2020) #6 because it's so sad and I love it very much. Also one last thing, this is my favorite art of Jim! Art by Mukesh Singh

The sad demise of billionaire Micky Jagtiani Founder-Chairman of Landmark Group marks end of a unique chapter in the world of global retail. He was a college drop out forced to charge of a modest baby products store in Bahrain after his brother and father passed away in quick succession. Using his own insights, he went on to build one of the world's biggest retail empires operating in 24 countries. Forbes estimates his net worth at $5.2 billion. In all this he never lost the human touch, supported various charities in India and the Middle East, and was living proof against that common dictum about nice guys finishing last. I had the privilege of working on his biography years ago where I closely interacted with him, his family and various friends around the world. Here's link to excerpts of our book.

I’ve been binging a lot of Kishore Kumar songs/movies during the past days and . Wow. I did not know that it was possible to give expressions from mere voice until now. Apart from being what is probably the most melodious male singer I’ve ever heard, I can hear the Joy when he says Jhoom jhoom kauwa bhi dholak bajae, Fun in Ek Chatur Nar, Sadness in Koi humdum na rha, Love in Pal bhar ke liye koi hume pyaar kar de. Heck even the infatuation in his voice when he sings Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si, as if this man does not completely need pace and composition and all to make his songs sound a certain way, and his own vocal abilities can enhance to the feel. He literally sang a song about 5 rupya 12 aana and somehow made it feel exactly like what something with that name should feel like, like how💀
I’ve heard many brilliant singers from Mukesh to Md. Rafi to even present day wonders like Sonu Nigam (who is also another man who seems to posses this ability) but I’ve never heard anyone else who made me feel like he was living the art as much as this man. This guy was so talented he could write scripts, act, and sing in his own movies and do all of that with perfection.
I have no idea why I wrote this here but I felt like I needed to let the world know that it is a big old crime to sleep on this man’s talents.
whenever we hear divinities like koi Iowa de mere beetey hue di, yeh dil na hota bechara, koi humdum na raha, mere sapno ke rani, yeh sham mastani, jindagi ka safar, tere mere milan ki rain, main shayar badnam etc. there are 2 stages
vibing with the song and its feeling.
wondering at how possibly could one single voice give you such multitude of emotions.
listen to any fm radio station and you are sure to hear one of the many memorable melodies of the kishore kumar-rd burman era.
and whenever we hear today's RJs and masses, it surprises us how just about everyone ends upon the legendary kishore da, as if he were a contemporary.
which he is and always will be.
relevance isn't a word in kishor da's dictionary, because he never loses it.

Bollywood Review Time!
Today, I am going to talk about Om Shanty Om, a very good movie that was Not For Me.
Let me back up. People recommend stuff to me a lot and I try to watch it and talk about it, and I always feel bad when I don’t like it. This one was recommended to me by my friend @serene-faerie I want to make it very clear that you, reader, may like this film very much! It was a strange perfect storm of Things I Don’t Care For, and I actually rather enjoyed the experience of picking apart what I didn’t like about from what I did, because honestly, I am always interested in the ways stories are told and what stories say about themselves.
Cut for spoilers and also length
First off the bat-- this is not a film for the Bollywood beginner. It’s sort of a meta-narrative, with a ton of cameos from famous stars and jokes about Bollywood tropes and directors and such. There’s a ten-minute dance number in the middle that’s just famous people showing up to get down and everybody cheers every time someone new rolls in. I have only actually seen a handful of Bollywood films, mostly made after this one (it was made in 2007), and I could tell that there were a ton of gags and references that flew over my head. I got the sense, both from watching it, and from reading reviews, that this was all very well done and funny, I just didn’t have the proper frame of reference to appreciate it.
The main character, Om, is played by Shah Rukh Khan, an incredibly famous Bollywood star whom I had never heard of before watching this film. In the beginning, Om is a somewhat-bumbling movie extra, dreaming of stardom, flipping his hair, and falling in love with a beautiful starlet on a billboard. I… was not taken in by his charms. I feel like I really missed out by not knowing who Shah Rukh Khan was ahead of time. That was sort of an interesting thought to me-- that a famous actor brings the good will of all his previous roles to a movie with him, and that it was very interesting to me to watch a film stripped of that context. I was literally shocked when halfway through the film, he rips off his shirt and had killer abs, I was absolutely not expecting it.
The deal of the movie is that, through a series of coincidences, Om meets Shanti, the actress of his dreams (from the billboard). She is played by Deepika Padukone, who I fell for immediately. She is gorgeous and had a ton of charisma. This movie seems like it’s going to be a love story, but it really isn’t. Shanti is charmed by Om’s sweetness, but she’s already in a doomed secret marriage with a scumbag director, Mukesh, who ends up murdering her when she wants him to publicly acknowledge her, which is kinda time sensitive, because she is pregnant. Mukesh had planned to have her star in a lavish movie spectacle called Om Shanti Om, but when she forces his hand, he burns the set down with her locked inside. Om witnesses all this; he tries to save her and dies in the process.
Om happens to die in the same hospital where a famous director’s child is being born, and he is reincarnated as the baby, and grows up to have the life he always wanted-- that of a Bollywood superstar. His name is still Om, but his nickname is O.K., so I am going to call him that to distinguish between 1977 Om and 2007 Om. He meets Mukesh again who is now a super-successful Hollywood producer. O.K. gets all the memories of his past life back, and decides to Get Revenge by proposing to do a remake of Om Shanti Om. He finds a wanna-be actress, Sandy, who looks exactly like Shanti, and has her haunt the set in order to make Mukesh think he is going crazy (and maybe also confess? It’s not a terribly clear-cut plan). You might think that Sandy is the reincarnation of Shanti, but Shanti’s ghost shows up in the grand finale of the film, so I guess she wasn’t?? You also might expect O.K. and Sandy to have some romantic feelings, but they really don’t, and in fact, O.K. is actually pretty mean to Sandy, even though she is extremely sweet and I don’t see how anyone could possibly be mean to her.
The movie is lush. The costumes are elaborate, the sets are lavish, the dance numbers are many and long. There is not a single scene without an off-screen fan to dramatically tousle the actors’ hair. I actually rather liked the last act of the movie where they were gaslighting Mukesh and it was over-the-top, scenery-chewing, Hamlet--play-with-in-a-play madness. A chandelier falls on someone. A lot of the end doesn’t even make a lot of sense or exist in any sort of linear time, cutting between the film-within-a-film and dance numbers and what’s “really happening” and I really had no problem with any of this. I actually really liked the amount of meta that was happening and the breakdown of boundaries, and I found the end to be reasonably satisfying.
So what didn’t I like about it?
The entire film relies on you being charmed by Om and I did not care for him. We all have this set of trope personality types that we enjoy and fall for, and “young person who dreams of making it big on the stage/screen” is a huge swipe left for me. Give me a stolid second-in-command who has been stationed at an ice wall for 30 years to protect his homeland. A incredibly tired dude muttering “fuck” as he wades into a swamp to fight a bog zombie, because who else is gonna? My dude turn-ons include duty and self-sacrifice and really good posture. I couldn’t watch Naruto because everyone spouted off about “their dreams” too much, and I thought Om should have cut his losses and gotten a real job. I am who I am.
There’s a weird fine line between “meta,” that is, stories about storytelling and presentation and media, and movies about being in love with making movies. I like the former a lot and I do not care for the latter one bit. I did stage crew for a high school production of 42nd Street and I have a very distinct memory of thinking “this is a play about putting on a play. Why on earth would anyone who is not an actor want to watch this?” I also hate books where the main character is a writer (yes, Stephen King, this is a call-out). I also hate biopics about musicians and actors. I honestly do not care about the craft, and the “magic of cinema” has never been a thing I have found remotely compelling.
What I love about reincarnation storylines is the period where the characters recognize the feelings and memories that are tied to their previous lives-- where they see someone and can feel their old emotions for this person, but without knowing why. This is where I live. I eat this with a spoon. I want this to prolong the emotional burn, because the characters don't know what are their own feelings and what comes from their past lives, and that there are conflicts that must be resolved for both lifetimes. Alternatively, you can also use a reincarnation storyline to skip the emotional burn entirely, by just having the character “get all their memories back in one fell swoop.” This is… the opposite of what I want. This is what Om Shanty Om does. I felt deeply cheated.
Relatedly, the entire theme of the movie was "When you want something badly, the whole universe conspires to give to you", a sentiment I wholeheartedly disagree with. I love stories about the conflict between agency and destiny, I think this is a really meaty subject, but once again, the movie used it as an excuse to let the characters sit back and do nothing and have a solution to their problems drop into their laps. I am sure you could make an argument for the charm of this viewpoint, but it is not for me.
I like dance numbers all right, but they are not why I watch Bollywood films. This movie is over two hours long and a lot of it was dance numbers. I was very tired of dance numbers by the end. That being said, the titular song was a bop and I had it stuck in my head for days. “Disco of Distress” was my second favorite.
I do not really feel a lot of nostalgia for the late 1970s, which is when the first half of the film takes place. If noisy patterns and kitsch and big winks and goofy hair is your period aesthetic, you will enjoy this part a lot!
Here’s what I did like!
Sunglasses. There were so many good sunnies in this film. So many. A parade of excellent shades.
Deepika Padukone. She is so adorable, for one, and she charmed me in every way that Shah Rukh Khan did not. I loved her both as the melancholy starlet Shanti and the doofy, gum-chewing Sandy, and also the Angry Revenge Ghost at the end. I would say this movie is 75% Om and 25% Shanti, and I would have liked it a lot better if it were the other way around. Sandy had basically no agency whatsoever; the second half of the plot was basically about O.K. getting revenge on Mukush... mostly for himself? I liked that the first half of the movie didn’t make Shanti fall in love with the puppy-like Om just because he was devoted to her, but it would have been a nice reversal if the jaded O.K. had softened toward Sandy more in the second act, and that there had been a bit of a love story to temper the revenge plot.
The idea of the plot. The plot described in words is very cool to me, and there was a period of about 3 minutes in the film when O.K. recognizes Om’s mother when I got real excited about where this was going, and then I realized it wasn’t going where I wanted and was sad again. I think I might have liked it better if the movie started out with O.K. and revealed Om’s story slowly, through flashback, but nothing about this movie catered to my narrative aesthetic, so I eventually gave up with ways of trying to fix it.
Anyway, as I said, I can definitely see how someone could love this movie! If you are a big Bollywood buff and you love dance numbers and silliness and Shah Rukh Khan, I would recommend it in a second! It was strangely almost tailor-made to hit some of my pet peeves, and I was mad because I wanted to like it more than I did.
That’s my review! @serene-faerie I hope you still love me even though I didn’t like your movie. I am always trying to expand my movie knowledge and I learned a lot watching this one, and I don’t regret watching it, even though it wasn’t my fave.
