You know, I just noticed something.

Zoom in on Q as he is coming towards Picard in the AGT clip below. If you look closely, he is rubbing his red-gloved hands together--not like an evil villain, who rubs their hands together as in " Hehe. This is going to be good."--

but as though he's caressing one hand with the other, running his palm and fingers down the length of his other raised hand.

Now, why would he do that?

Could it be that while Q is being forced to put Picard through this challenge by the Continuum, he is internally desperate to feel some kind of tactile sensation with Picard, and he is, in a way, self-soothing or pleasuring by caressing himself?

I mean he's doing it while he's coming towards Picard, and it bears repeating that even though Q is supposed to act menacing and be all Judge Q-ish--a stark difference from the Encounter at Farpoint Judge Q--Q takes every little opportunity he sees to get very physically close to Picard in AGT (leaning very close to him to whisper into his ear, and even inserting his fingertips into old Picard's tunic, his nose barely two inches away from his capitaine's. HELLO!)

I mean, I have no doubt that Q touches himself when he is obsessing over Picard in some remote corner of the Universe.

Who wouldn't?

Such a menacing judge.

A judge in love, for sure!
