Looking Back (Part 2)

Lila looked around the reunion, annoyed. Adrien wasn't anywhere to be seen. The people she had control over weren't either. Lila smiled, spotting Marinette.

'Time to ruin her day. It'll be just like old times.'

"Marinette!" Lila smiled, walking up to her, "You can call me Mrs. Agreste. Adrien and I got married, after all."

"Congratulations!" Mari smiled.

Lila tried to keep the shock off of her face.

'Where are the tears? Where is the screaming?'

"We should go." A man walked up to Marinette spoke, "The kids are asleep, already."

'Kids? Marinette knows this guy? He's hotter than Adrien! How could she know him or his kids?'

"Already?" Marinette asked, "Oh, I guess it is late."

"Kids?" Lila asked, trying to keep the conversation going, "You.....have kids?"

"Oh, this is my husband." Marinette answered, "We got married seven years ago. We have a five year old and a two year old."

Before she could find out more, her husband pulled her towards the exit.

"Bye Mari!" her friends shouted, "Bye, Damian!"

Mari just waved and kept walking.

'I will not be ignored!'

"Bye Marinette!" Lila cried out, "I can't believe you're still so rude to me. You couldn't even say bye?"

Marinette stopped, turned and smiled, "Sorry, Lola. Bye."

'Lola?'

Lila seethed in anger. She had always thought of Marinette as her enemy, but it seemed she was just some distant memory to her.

Marinette's friend group continue to laugh after she had walked out of the reunion.

"I can't believe she called her that!" Ivan laughed.

"I wish I had recorded it." giggled Rose.

Lila stomped away, humiliated. She rushed outside of the venue and called Alya.

'She always answers! She's hopeless without me!'

Lila didn't expect Alya to be with the others.

"Oh it's you! Miss 'Popularity' herself!" Alya smugly replied.

"Excuse me?" Lila asked, "Alya this isn't like you."

"Oh, it's not?" she questioned, "Maybe I should drink more often then."

'She drunk. So she's useless. Wait! Maybe, I can use this to my advantage!'

"Alya, Marinette was so mean-" she began.

"All of Marinette's friends are successful!" Alya shouted, "Why do we all suck?"

'Huh?'

"Yeah!" Kim shouted, "We've listened to you since junior high! We trusted you! I have a gut and stuck as a PE teacher! Odine is at the Olympics!"

"Nino listened but he only hangs out with Adrien! After we broke up, he just got.....better!" Alya sneered, "He's a DJ who travels all over and I'm stuck running errand for other people at Tvi. I'm not even a reporter!"

"Why does Adrien saying you're un-fuckable?" Alix questioned.

"Excuse me?" Lila gasped.

Nathaniel scoffed, "He said he never dated you and he never would. Mr. Model was crying how he missed out on marrying Marinette and how you're not even his type!"

"Kitty Section listened to Marinette and they're famous!" Alix continued to rant. "Max works for her husband's company and he makes millions. It's like a millionaire club with them."

"Why are Marinette and her friends amazing people and all the people that listened to you miserable?" Alya sneered.

"Yeah!" the rest cried out.

Lila scoffed and hung up the phone. She tried to make the best of it and talk with other people, but she could see people pointing at her out of the corner of her eye. She pretended not to see them giggling and whispering at each other. She quickly made a break for the bathroom to collect herself. She hid in one of the stalls and took a deep breath. No one could know they got to her. They probably heard her call herself Mrs. Agreste.

'Stupid! I should have whispered it to her.'

"Who knew Marinette was such a savage!" she heard a girl say, as the door opened.

'Seriously?'

"She's matured so much!" Lila heard another voice speak.

"I know." the first voice answered, "I'm so happy for her. She went through so much shit with Chloe."

"Hey, did you believe about her being a bully?" the other voice questioned.

"Bullying Rossi?" they scoffed, "Hell no! Lila is a whiny bitch. She acted like she was four."

The second person laughed, "And those fake 'Pity Me' tears."

They both laughed.

"But Marinette callign her Lola-" they continued to laugh.

"Lila Rossi really is the Loud Obnoxious Lying Anti-Christ." one giggled.

"Juleka told me it use to be worse." the other continued.

"How?" they replied.

"Before she was 'LOLA', they would call her the 'STB: Stupid Thoughtless Bitch'." the girl answered.

Lila heard the other person snort.

"Then, they had to teach her safe sex before Wayne, so Mari started calling her an STD cuz she was like an infection that was hard to get rid of." the same girl continued.

"Wait?" one girl spoke, "Why did they have to teach her? She must have known by then."

Lila heard a giggle, "Apparently her and Wayne were eye fucking each other so badly when Mari started working at WE. You know she's the Wayne family's personal designer, right? Jagged Stone introduced them."

"Oh yeah. Didn't she make his Eiffel tower sunglasses when she was 13?" the other questioned.

"Yep. She did those and then worked on his album covers." one declared, "Not to mention the outfits he wore on stage, but seriously imagine undressing your future husband before even being with him."

"I can certainly see the perks." they replied.

"Anyways, the tension was so bad that Kitty Section went to Bruce's office to say he would likely get a grandchild soon, if his son didn't man up an d ask her out." one recalled, "They said it was like being one snap away from them going at it like animals at the office. Damian walked in and told them to stay out of his life and slammed the door. Bruce shouted he'd love grandkids and the next day Wayne asked her out."

"Damn." the other laughed, "From Ice Prince to Simp for Paris' Sweetheart?"

"Better than being known as Paris' Trashy Whore." the other scoffed, "Did you hear Rossi was trying to claim to be married to Adrien?"

"Shut up!" the other yelled, "She did not!"

"Yep." the other stated, "Hard to believe when Agreste was eye fucking Mrs. Wayne til Lola's Pack took him to the bar."

"Guess she's not such a frined now, huh?" the second girl called out.

"Let's go before Lola shows up." the first one declared, "She's bound to skulk in some bathroom 'til her group shows up and saves her from embarassment."

Lila heard the door open and close. She hadn't moved a muscle from whn they started talking. It wasn't until she blinked that she realized she was crying.

'That's why she didn't care.'

Marinette had always been the winner. No one had believed her. The few people that did were slowly turning against her. They were too drunk and were now blaming her for making their lives miserable. By tomorrow, they probably would have forgotten they said that.

Alya was constantly complainign about Nino's success now. Kim had lost to Odine too may times after their break up that he started to compulsively eat. He had lost his swimmer's body and had a giant gut. He'd poke it and complain about his life. His dating life wasn't that much better. He was constantly telling people 'He wasn't always like this. How he was ruined.'

Neither she nor Adrien modeled anymore. He worked for Gabriel and was plain miserable. He constantly complained about being watched and how he felt like he as under a microscope.

On the other hand, she would bring up about being a model and the date wouldn't end well. They would usually huff and tell her to pay for herself. Lila had finally shouted on one of her dates and questioned why. They replied they would only be wasting money on a salad or for her to throw up in the bathroom later. She stopped bringing it up after that.

Lila looked around. She was still in the toilet stall. Marinette was married with kids. Marinette was wealthy and married wealthy as well. Marinette had friends; she was famous and doing what she wanted.

She was still trying to find a guy to seduce to let her be a housewife and have access to an unrestricted credit card. Lila couldn't stop the sob that escaped her mouth. She had threatened Marinette in the bathroom and the bathroom is exactly where her dreams were shattered. No 'Prince Charming' was ever coming for her. She had chosen the wrong path in life and was now stuck on it. Her friends were just as friendly as she was. Everyone in her life was just as two-faced as she was and she hated it.

Miraculous Court Revived Au

This au is based off the idea of Marinette revving the guardians through her classmates.

Basic Facts:

Lila has been found out but the staff still believe her

Ladybug and Chat Noir has revealed their identities after Master Fu passed over guardianship

Miracle queen didn’t happen (Chloe gets a redemption)

Adrien and Marinette had a big conversation on boundaries (with Chat Noir constant confessions/refusal to listen to Ladybug and Marinette borderline stalking, it was desperately needed) and decided on friendship for now so their relationship is healthy

Story:

Both Marinette and Adrien agreed to lend out the miraculous permanently but they did it slowly over a year

Not every hero shows up to an akuma at first but most do now as hawkmoth keeps getting stronger the longer they have the miraculous

Which ironically is something happening to the heroes with them gaining effects outside their suits such as animal traits, super strength/speed and small amount of their powers

The Kwamis explained that this is not unusual and many past users who last longer ended up being tightly bonded to their miraculous which made them into demigods (the class being all true holders just made this happen sooner in the development unlike others who had this happen when they were adults)

Over time the class got more feral but not something that was insanely noticeable until another heroes day incident which ended up with class (plus Kagami and Luka) revealing their identities to each other in order to have a stronger support systems as shit was getting worse and worse with the akumas becoming more deadly and horrific

This cause the class to basically become feral in an actual noticeable manner (think Feralnette au vibes but with the whole class)

They also focused way more on the hero jobs, learning martial arts, weapons training, gymnastics, dance, first aid, civilian control tactics

It was Chloe who brought up the idea because while these classes were great, it was too public so why not get a secret base? Like other heroes do

Between her money and her dad’s complete refusal to go against her and never looking into what she was doing, it was a perfect way to hide a secret base and there are a lot of old warehouses/old buildings needing to be bought up so no would really notice

Even so Max and Alix pointed out that even if that was the case wouldn’t it look odd for a bunch of teenagers to keep visiting a random building/warehouse

It took a lot of brain storming but eventually it was surprisingly Kim that had a solution even if it would be complicated as fuck to accomplish

BUILD A BUSINESS

Confused at first, Adrien asked for an elaboration

Well Marinette wants her own fashion brand, Alya wants to be reporter, Nino wants a music/movie career, Kitty Section has started a career already and just needs to be sign to a label but also has their own job wants outside like Myleen/Ivan/Rose’s charity work and Julaka Modelling career, Marc/Nathaniel wants to make comics, Alix wants to expand her art career/sports career, he wants his own sports career as well, Max wants to build more inventions to improve technology for the world, Adrien wants to also work in science (if not work in food) and Chloe/Sabrina like business in general

so why not just combine all their talents and build a jack of all trades enterprise like other big corporations tend to do

It would also be a good cover to build up the Miraculous Guardians again like Marinette and Adrien wants because you can’t really build something like that out in open anymore without it sounding like a cult.

The Plan/Effects:

So that was the plan, it helped keep their parents off their case, could work on it during school because basically everyone there expect for Lula or Kagami (both helping on music and security branches)

It was a slow build as buying a hood building took a while so did all the legal issues but Chloe, Sabrina, Kagami, Adrien and Marinette helped due to the rich kid background, police father and Marinette’s small business that had been set up with the help of Jagged.

The business didn’t really come first though at least they were not openly promoting it.

First they worked on their hero reputation/brands by increased public interactions with more patrols (more heroes means easier ways to spread out patrols), working with the police for normal crimes like how many other heroes in America do (I’m thinking dc crossover not the canon ones), social media presence for better alerts/info to public/a way to see more down to Earth and relate to people (since come what teenager type hero is not going to shit post/meme about their lives)

And it worked more people support them, helping bring more hope as the new need for more heroes got people worried that hawkmoth was winning, the government was starting to help out more (double edged sword thou as that meant a bigger work load for other crimes) which made them express that even when hawkmoth was defeated they wouldn’t minds them sticking around to help Paris since most hero’s tend to stick to America

The main cover business started to become popular after making themselves more known openly with Ladyblog being officially under the company banner, Marc/Nathaniel’s comics also coming under the brand, Max’s new hero endorsed akuma alert app and Hero Website also coming under the company, Kitty Section joining with the start of company’s music records, famous jagged stone endorsed designer known as MDC also joining.

All these popular thing helped it grow quite fast and with the fact most of them being young teens helped make the media especially interested in how fast they were raising in popularity because it wasn’t everyday you see a group of teenagers build such a big company at their age.

That’s all I got so far to be honest.

Notes:

Adrien has to sneak around his father still but with the business he had chloe help him to threaten Gabriel to back off (threaten to go to the press about how he’s unfairly treated)

Kagami and Lula while out of the class have ended up close with most of them over time before the reveal

Parents are just happy their kids are having fun and building up their future careers

Kwamis are protective as hell with class while also are all really happy with being out after being stored into the box for so long

Teachers and the rest of the school tend to avoid or be more harsh on the akuma class (Lila being the cause for the staff issues)

They are now around the age of 16-17

The hero team is now known as the Miraculous Court due to how the public has heard them use their old titles that the guardians used to use such as Lady Of Luck, Duke of Destruction, Seers of Time, Knight Of The Elements, etc.

Hopscotch

There is a severe lack of content for Marikim and I've consumed it in an hour, time to adjust that even if it's just me. Listen, I hate cannon, most of it anyway. I'm not writing with Marc or Luka, only because I don't feel wholey comfy writing them. Didn't get that far in the show😅😅 Didn't finish the Lila shit either, so if it's wrong - sorry? #####

To think, it all started with an akuma. 

No, not a poor person taken advantage of. More like a poor butterfly being used by a madman being taken advantage of. 

Kim was snorting, eyes rolling at Alix and Max as the duo continued to class from lunch. Max was lamenting the idiocy of their peers, of how Lila was obviously new and full of shit. A napkin take out someone's eye? Especially someone with glasses? Kim could hear his grumblings as Alix dragged him along, her snickering about whatever else that happened that Kim didn't care to pay attention to. While the new girl was objectively pretty, she was far too much like Chloe for Kim's taste. And Kim had made it a point to avoid anything resembling the blonde, he hadn't been the greatest when he'd been trying to impress her. Marinette had helped talk to Ivan after the Stoneheart thing, and since then Kim wants to say he's been doing better. No more silly tricks to impress and using actual words opposed to teasing to encourage have been shown to help loads. Max never hesitated to remind him of the odds when his old habits would make an appearance, but that's what happens when you're a teenager in the midst of an emotional, magical terrorist attack. 

He still can't believe he mixed his gym bag for his school bag, eyes rolling at himself as he wondered if Marinette would be willing to take a commission to keep him from mixing them in the future. He didn't even want to think about the number of times he did this a week, let alone a day. It had to-

Kim froze, dread like ice in his veins as he saw the black butterfly floating along. He swallowed, holding as still as he could manage when he heard it. Voices. The following sound of a slam had his brow furrowing and he took a deep breath. Is he witnessing the becoming of an akuma? The memory, the feeling of strings connected to his limbs as the world went dark sent a chill down his spine and before he knew what he was doing. Kim was charging into the room after the akuma, eyes narrowed when he found its target.

Marinette.

The world would burn before someone let her get hurt by a fucking akuma. It was getting closer, heading for an earring as she gripped the sink so tight her knuckles were white. Nope! Not today, Hawkmoth.

"Marinette!"

She jumped, eyes wide with fear and tears falling from her cheeks. A squeak tore from her throat at the sight of the akuma and Kim did the one thing he could think of. He threw his bag. Now what Kim forgot was how he hardly missed a target when he threw something, secondly, was his strength. His muscles weren't for show, if he wasn't working out he was usually doing some sport or another. If not challenging Alix, rollerblades versus his own human body. 

The bag slammed into the purple insect, slamming it into the wall. Marinette thankfully seeing his plan had dropped into a roll, moving from the Akuma and Kim didn't hesitate to snatch her around the waist and throw her over his shoulder before they were running from the locker room. Squished Akuma left behind. 

Kim didn't stop running, his blood roaring in his ears and all he could think was to get her away from the evil little thing.

 Not today, Hawkmoth, not his Cupcake. He didn't even want to think about the slaughter that would take place, because it wouldn't be a fight, a battle. Marinette would take out Hawkmoth and their heroes without fail. She was cunning, he's seen her climb the side of a building and not be late for class every other week. He's seen her when she's pissed, seen her fall and catch herself in a handspring. Seen her make Chloe back down. He wouldn't be surprised if Marinette would make Hawkmoth her little bitch.

"Kim!"

He skid to a halt, lungs burning for air and chest heaving. They were... at the park? Oops. Marinette was poking his back, his sides. Sharp nails digging in for attention, and another one of those squeaks tore from her throat as she clawed at his back on the off chance his rapid stop made her fall. Puh-lease. He played sports, his hands were probably one of the most guaranteed safe zones in the world. Well, maybe. Ladybug or Chat Noir might be safer. 

"Kim, I think you outran the akuma." She said softly, and he chuckled. Heat flaring in the back of his neck as she wiggled to be put down. "Did... did you throw your backpack at an akuma?"

"No..?"

He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck now that she was firmly on her own two feet. Her pigtails were disheveled and Marinette's eyes rolled. Lips pulled into a smile as she tugged the ribbons free from her dark hair. Kim grinned, she was smiling! A far cry from the tears she had been shedding when he first found her. The question burned on his tongue, but it might not be a good idea to talk about it right now. Maybe after she seems a bit more at ease? He shrugged, starting down the path of the park and mentally fistbumping when she started along with him.

"That's my gym bag." He grimaced, "Though now that there's akuma juice on it... Hawkmoth can have it."

She laughed, her arm nudging into him as they followed the small path at a slow pace. Kim never thought he'd be skipping class with Marinette Dupain-Cheng, then again, he didn't think he'd have to save the literal sunshine from an akuma. But everyone has their days, everyone has bad days. Kim frowned, probably didn't help everyone was pushing her about today. He heard Nino and Alya criticizing her, but before he could've asked what was going on Lila was claiming a napkin was going to take out Max' eyes. Kim remembers the way his eye twitched, the way Alix immediately stood after Max made a very dry comment and started to preach Lila, her sarcasm missed by the new girl as the trio began to gather their things and leave. Ignoring the tales of wonder of Lila's sacrifice behind as Max proceeded to rant and rave about their classmates having less intelligence than a single cell organism if they believed that.

"Your sacrifice will be remembered," She snickered, patting his shoulder. "I'll make you a new one, if-if you want that is. So it won't be lost in vain?"

"Oh hell yeah!" He fistbumped, ready to brag his ass off about getting a custom design from Marinette and to flex on Alix and Max, on Ondine, on his teammates, mostly on Alix though. "I will never say no to a DC original! Alix is gonna be pissed!"

"Oh, I can make her on-"

Kim interrupted her, grabbing her by the shoulders and pressing into her space. His face turned serious, brows furrowed as he stopped them mid-walk. When he spoke his voice had dropped into just barely above a whisper and eyes staring at her intensely.

"Whatever you do, don't make her one." She squeaked, her cheeks heating as Kim continued. "I want to forever have bragging rights on that little shit."

Marinette blinked, once, twice. Then she snorted, eyes rolling as she playfully pushed at his chest. He grinned, mischief glinting in his eyes as she proceeded to grumble. Trudging along the path quicker, and aware of the effortless way Kim kept up. Never once losing the smile that made dimples form in his cheeks. She delighted in the mock hurt and offense that took over his expression when he actually heard what she was saying. The giant athlete bemoaning her cruelty and begging her to reconsider giving Alix more things to allow Shortstack to have bragging rights on him. 

"Maaaaarrriiiii," He threw an arm around her shoulder, hearing her squawk as he leaned some of his weight onto her shoulders. Snickering as she stumbled about under his hold. "The betrayal of a sweet treat as yourself cuts ever deep as a thorn of roses!"

"That made no sense!" She laughed, shoving at his arm that was refusing to budge. "Kim! Get your meaty arm off me you oaf!"

"Oaf? Oaf?! Oaf!" He staggered, hands pressing into his chest as he spoke with an exaggerated huff. "How dare you! I am a theater jock!"

"Oh, is theater still your secret side piece to sports?" Marinette teased, and Kim grinned. Hands in his pockets as she stared up at him, shoving her fringe to the side. Her hair flawlessly turning into a brain under her deft fingers. He hadn't seen her with a braid in years. He forgot what she looked like with it. "I thought you dropped theatre last year."

"I did, but I didn't like that one class I took instead, oh the one with the thing and thing?"

"Home Economics?"

"Yes! It was laaaame, besides maman is going to show me how to do all that stuff this summer so I took theater and dropped it."

Marinette nodded, "Well if you want help cooking, you know maman and papa will help in a heartbeat."

"What, not gonna help me at all?"

She rolled her eyes, "I know you know how to cook, I also know you pretend not to when anyone asks."

"Rude. Fair, but rude."

They walked for a few moments in silence, the sound of the trees rustling in the wind. The smell of the flowers drifting through the air and surrounding them as the sun warmed them from a cloudless sky. The park wasn't filled, which made sense since most of the occupants of the park were currently in class or at work. Never in their lives did they think they'd end up skipping class, especially together. Not when he skips for sports and bets, and she skips for battle. Not that he knew that last bit.

"Thank you." She said it so softly, he wasn't sure he heard it. "For-for helping me, get away from the akuma and making me... yeah. Sorry you caught me, well..."

"Mari?" She hummed at his question, watching their shoes as they walked. "Why were you crying in the bathroom?"

"I-"

"Was it that chick, Alya? I know you've gotten close since she transferred, and it's good seeing you making new friends on your own." He stopped their walk, gently turning her to face him and lifting her chin from the ground. "But if she's not turning out to be all that great, you know you're always welcomed to break Bustier's rules and come sit with me and Nath, or even Nino, I know she banned the four of us from sitting together because we were hiding you and Nath from her so you could draw, but-"

"It wasn't- it wasn't Alya..." Marinette admitted, he raised a brow. Her gaze broke from his and she sighed. Her shoulders slumping. "Okay, her and Nino didn't help. But, it's-it's fine. We don't have-"

"Cupcake, unless you don't want to talk to me about it, which you know you just have to say so, what happened? Let your big strong knight be your shield again!" 

She laughed, the sound soft, if a little pained. She heaved a breath and when she leaned into his side, he didn't hesitate. Wrapping his arm around her and pulling her close as they continued to walk. It was silent, comfortable. He missed hanging with her, with Nathaniel and Nino. He wondered how well Max and Nath would work together, or Alix and Nino. Considering he can't imagine ditching old friends for new, or new for old. Maybe that's what Marinette needed, some new friends too! He was already thinking of dragging Max to the bakery one day with him, to bond with her. Well, they did like video games and-

"Lila threatened me."

The world stop. The air left his lungs as his vision went dark around the corners. Lila threatened Marinette. Lila threatened Marinette. The Italian sausage threatened! He swallowed the urge to storm back to that school and just take care of that problem growing like fire in his chest. How dare. How fucking dare that new bitch. 

"She should've stayed in Italy." 

"Kim -NO!"

Her hands clawed at him, and Kim grunted when Marinette threw herself onto his back. Like that would stop him. He bench presses her weight, on a light day! He growled, she growled back and it didn't stop him from starting the track back to Dupont. Oh that bitch!

"Kim I don't have a bag to throw if you get akumatised! Stop!"

"Get off."

"No!" Marinette climbed further and he forgot how much a fucking spider monkey she was. "I will tell you everything but only if you promise not to do anything rash! I did and I got expelled."

He froze. She was expelled. Lila did that. Kim remembers asking Max to look into the cameras, remembers Nathaniel looking at the heirloom and telling him that it was a necklace from Gabriel Agreste. He knows because Marinette sent him the picture of them from the window earlier that same week to give inspiration for his art. They had already been on the way to make Damocles look when she had been sent back to class, her expulsion ending and Kim had noticed the look on Lila's face. She had been happy, and now Kim knows why. 

He could see her over his shoulder, her bluest blue eyes wide and darting through the sky over their heads. She was looking for an akuma, watching out for him. Which... considering the butterfly probably no longer smashed against a wall in the locker room, it is a fair precaution. He took a measured breath, fists clenching at his sides. He focused, trying to reel his anger in even if part of him dared the butterfly obsessed freak to send one after him. Just so he could tear it apart with his hands, or better yet. Marinette has carried a sewing kit with her since she wanted to become a fashion designer and he knows she has a pastel pink seam ripper in her purse. 

He breathed again, eyes closing. In through the nose, out the mouth. He could feel her warmth against his back, could smell vanilla, of warm bread, and cookies from the wind. Could feel her hair brushing against his skin as her arms locked around his neck. Holding tight to keep from falling. Her ankles locked on his stomach to keep herself up, and feel her purse pressing into the small of his back uncomfortably.

Kim relaxed, thoughts of tearing something apart with his bare hands replacing thoughts of dismembering something to make Hawkmoth stay the fuck away from him. From her. He needed to go hit a punching bag as soon as he could, just the thought had his anger fading away. The tension in his muscles easing as she continued to cling to him like a koala. 

After a moment, he felt her slide against him. Her fingers clawing down and he shuddered, goosebumps breaking across his skin as she came to stop. Her hands curled in the fabric of his red hoodie gathered at his lower back. His neck burned, and he resisted the urge to roll his shoulders back. Ignoring the pleasant little buzz coming to life in his blood, pushing at all the thoughts trying to rush to the surface. 

He needs her not to do that again, that felt way too good. His mind betraying him with the million and one ways her grabbing at his back could be twisted. He needed a cold shower after beating a punching bag, maybe one of the guys from his sports team would be willing to go a few rounds in the ring with him later? He was going to need it, even if the only reason he felt all pleased is because he liked backrubs. Stop looking at him like that.

She hesitated before taking his hand, leading him down the path until they came across a far off spot. Bushes filled with roses laid about the area and Kim realized she gave them privacy. He didn't know if he liked the idea of this spot, of her taking someone here, probably Adrien because it had become quite clear she had feelings for him. Feelings for the blonde prince, as Alix said to him one day when her phone wouldn't shut up and Alya was trying to scheme them together without Marinette knowing. 

Shaking the thoughts to the back of his head, he waited as Marinette slid against the trunk of the tree. Watched as she slowly stopped with her knees to her chest against the bark and caught his eye before patting the seat beside her. Offering him a seat even if the invitation had been there when she started leading him to the secluded little piece of safety. Kim settled beside her, lifting his arm and resting it on her shoulder when she leaned into his side. The smell of vanilla, of bread and cookies surrounding him with the fragrance of the flowers. She fidgeted, her fingers picking at each other until he caught the aforementioned digits in his other hand and squeezed. She was stalling, maybe trying to get that overworking mind of hers to figure out how to start it all. Kim didn't mind, he'd gladly wait for her to get the words out. She's always been worth the wait, even if he wasn't the most patient of the bunch. That was Nino’s and Nathanial's expertise, but Kim... he could listen. He could sit still for her.

When she began to speak, Kim had reminded himself to keep his mouth shut. To hold his questions to the end as her soft voice washed over him. Any other day it would've been peaceful, would've been nice even. The stuff out of those fairy tales Rose loved so much. He breathed through his nose, letting it out through his mouth slowly with every new thing she told him. When she finished, they sat there. Breathing as she let the weight fall off her shoulders, as he took it from her as he always would. Maybe she should rely on him more? She tossed the thought before it could finish forming, focusing on the questions he asked in that slow, calm, yet tight tone. She prayed to Tikki that Kim wouldn't leave, and wouldn't do as Alya did, what Nino did. Wouldn't do what Adrien did...

Before she could spiral, he squeezed her closer. Earning a squeak as he snickered, pressing a kiss to the crown of her head. The pink on her cheeks making his smile genuine, despite the protective rage simmering in his eyes. How he didn't attract an akuma, he wouldn't know. What he did know was that he had several things added to his agenda and clear in his mind. 

For starters, Adrien Agreste is no prince charming. Not in any of the storybooks, or tales of love and daring do. Not in a million years, not hers at the very least. Take the high road? Really? That was not the way to handle a school yard bully, maybe tabloids, maybe lie-rags. Maybe even crazy fans. But not a person threatening to tear someone down amongst their peers. It took everything Kim had to not scowl, not to pull out his phone and text the model. Alix' love for the twisted version of the stories came to mind, the one when the princes were the real bad guys of the stories. 

A new sort of resentment built inside him. For Bustier's constant victim blaming teachings, and for separating him from Marinette in the first place. If they were together, Lila wouldn't get the fucking chance to push the sweetest girl in school to the back of the class. Not only that, but she also wouldn't get her nasty ass claws inside Kim like she did Alya. 

Which brings him to his next point.

Alya is no friend of Marinette's. When they got banned from sitting together, he and Marinette had challenged each other. To make friends with whomever they got seated next to. Just her luck she got fucked with blonde prick and fake news. He took a breath, giving Marinette another squeeze. Best friends push you to do your best, but they don't push you into doing your worst. When you aren't comfortable, when you're scared, they are the spotter to catch the weight you're lifting. Alya hasn't been that for Marinette for a while now. 

Not only that, but what person schemes to hook up their bestie with their crush when neither have had a decent conversation? Or encourages the stealing of phones, privacy, and what was it? Oh yeah, stalking. After Kim was far more calm, he would be marching Marinette's ass home and telling her to take down everything. No schedules, no knowing everything there is about him from the internet. No future birthday presents, none of that shit. You're supposed to help coach the crazy, not encourage it. For fuck's sake!

Kim made sure to make a note to himself to have a long overdue chat with Nino. Take him out, sit him down, and if Kim's lucky, Nino can give Alya that dose of reality she apparently needs. If not, well, Nino has always been as protective as Kim. The duo never hesitated to protect Marinette and Nathaniel on the playground as they grew up, or from the teachers. They might have drifted, but they were still friends. 

Kim stood, tugging her up with him and offering her a charming smile. She blinked up at him, but let him lead her out of the park to the Bakery. Kim had some work to do. No sausage haired new chick was going to alienate his honest to kwami best girl.

This might sound stupid and I’m probably wrong but I’m convinced that they made the plot point of Alya being naive to Lila’s lying spree to the point of completely taking her side at times was a last resort to make marinette look good and sympathetic after everyone started to pick up on the whole stalking thing she had going on

But like there’s no way you do a complete 180 with your friend just like that without feeling a bit guilty about it but in a way, it’s a little painfully realistic since yes, they are young teens. And teens are sometimes always persuaded by things that they find interesting with no second thoughts about it which makes them both naive and perhaps a ‘yes-men’ type of exterior and as a teen myself I can definitely say it’s true from personal experiences. It may be realistic but that doesn’t make it okay most of the time. At times it’s bad to blindly believe something just because you find it interesting or right in your own way without doing a basic background check. It’s annoying but it’s necessary.

Since Alya is supposed to be a character who’s core trait is being the journalist who basically Sherlock Holmes her way into finding valuable research but if she had the energy to try and find out ladybug and cat noirs identity, she sure didn’t do a good job of looking into Lila even after marinette revealed to her she was ladybug who’s significant lie is that ladybug and her are friends when marinette made it clear she doesn’t like Lila and that their rivalry is completely built upon false accusations and liking some boy who instead liked a magical girl in a bug onesie which Alya would have definitely done if Thomas astruc wasn’t so obsessed with marinette more than she was with Adrien

If the writers already established that Alya can find evidence completely on her own for significant things like the main hero’s identities and help form a resistance against and to find the villains, why didn’t she do it for marinette and Lila? It’s easy, the writers needed drama between the characters to get the audience riled up and turn against Alya for her naivety in hopes of making us sympathize with poor little marinette. It has been established a lot throughout season one that they were ‘very best friends’ that wouldn’t turn their back on each other but the second the current seasons got more into the Lila and marinette drama it makes Alya look less like a naive friend with no ill will as Lila’s lies are pretty believable even if their ridiculously funny and dumb

Marinette from the beginning had a ton of problems that the fans and even the writers didn’t wanna admit until it got worse and were soon called out for. She wouldn’t take accountability in accusing her own class (expect Adrien cause she’s atrociously down bad) of theft rather than herself (rogercop) stealing her friends phone to remove an embarrassing voice mail and recreate a video and get no consequences for it (copycat and the mime) and the stalking is self explanatory. Even in an episode Gigantitan when Alix brings up that fact that marinettes behavior and knowledge about Adrien (the memorized schedule) is rather weird but rose and other characters decided that it was ‘romantic’ and it was never brought up again because the narrative of the episode try’s to frame it as that it was wrong and actually cute

Even though marinette has clear flaws it doesn’t necessarily make her a bad person as she has good qualities to both her character and personality but it becomes overshadowed as she never really gets consequences for her misdeeds that are not that helpful to her character development which is a problem by itself which should have been fixed way before the new seasons aired.

But when things get pretty bad in season three where Lila almost got marinette expelled, Alya was definitely helping her clear her name doing all her journalist work and gathering evidence but then it all went away in season five when the writers became desperate to blow marinettes bad deeds in the first season out of the water and to make Alya act more like an idiot and a bad friend than the supportive and truth seeking friend that she actually used to be and it becoming an ongoing thing in the show that feels like the writers have completely wasted her character and abandoned the important detective trait in Alya to make her look as bad as possible and it worked because season five made and her Bf Nino more OOC than the OG Star Wars cast in the Last Jedi with how passive and dismissive of Adrien and marinette attempt to tell the truth making seem like Adrien’s defending her just because she’s his girlfriend now and that’s a problem. And the fact that Alya was supposed to apologize to marinette after Lila and choke were exposed in the storyboard was actually scraped makes me so pissed.

Alya: I am so so sorry!

Alya: How could I have been so gullible?

They could have actually fixed her character (maybe not but who knows) with that one scene and actually bring back her being supportive and feeling remorseful but no, good ol thomas and friends just had to make her look bad again cutting out the apology scene even after the drama was over and never bring it up again

So I’ve been going through and adding particularly good fics I’ve read throughout the year. Only Complete fics, of course. Enjoy!

Chat Noir and Marinette decide to fake date in order to get Buttercup jealous enough to confess. Why won’t that boy make a move on such a wonderful girl as Marinette? And why is he beginning to hope that Buttercup stays blind?

Adrien wakes up in Nino’s arms. Neither of them have any explanation for this, considering they were nowhere near each other the night before. 

Marinette and Zoe uncover a ring stashed away in a closet. Why does it have an unusual effect on Chloe?

Felix isn’t careful enough when he goes snooping around the Agreste Mansion. Gabriel decides that he can’t let him roam free.

Kim bets Alix that she won’t be able to attend all of her friends’ weddings in a row. She has never been one to turn down a challenge.

Truly, he would've been the perfect candidate to be snatched up by a kwami, were he an orphan, dying somewhere remote after a short life full of nothing but suffering and misery. Yet as it stood, the sole heir to the French throne had little to complain about. Apart from, perhaps, a complete absence of a love life. That is until a mysterious girl, wandering around his gardens at night, catches his attention.

I love Fantasy AUs. It’s a bit unclear what’s happening at first, but it all gets explained in the last chapter. Also don’t worry about the age gap between Marinette and Adrien at the start of the story, I promise it’s not a problem in the end.

Based on the song 'About You' by The 1975. Memory Loss. Told in alternating time lines, one leading up to and one dealing with the aftermath of Marinette relinquishing the Miracle Box and the guardianship. Marinette struggles with her life after losing her memory, though there is a persistent voice that calls to her that always seems just out of reach in her memory.

Beautiful memory loss fic here, with seeing Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s relationship before she gave up the Miracle box, juxtaposed with the present day, when Adrien is only a stranger to her. I could really feel how Marinette was struggling with navigating these new circumstances, with her friends seeming to expect her to remember, to be who she was to them, to Adrien especially, before, and her just... not knowing whether she can do that. It’s got a happy ending though, for those who are concerned about that.

So everyone who’s been around my blog for awhile knows how much I love Alya getting the spotlight (I mean my sideblog alyaappreciation is dedicated to her, because frankly, she needs it), and azurite’s lovely fic here is no exception. Fu ended up giving Tikki to Lila and Plagg to Alya. There actually isn’t tension between them at first, they get along well to start with, but Plagg knows Lila’s lying about things and eventually pushes Alya to take action once they grow alarming, until the two of them are both accusing each other of being liars as superheroes, and the public doesn’t know what to believe. 

I’m betting there’s more of this AU to come. I hope so, I love the consideration and agency it gives to both Alya and Lila.

Ah, Fantasy Soulmate AUs, my beloved XD. This ain’t the only one of this fic type I’m gonna be recommending. This is just a cute fluff fic without much strife. I love Marinette and Chat Noir being able to be childhood friends via his visits, even if he has to pretend to be her cat whenever he comes over, and I ESPECIALLY adore Alya being his chaperone and quickly becoming friends with Marinette in her own right. It ain’t a complicated plot, but it is a nice and warm fic.

After a horrific argument with his father, Adrien escaped from the mansion with his heart in pieces. In hindsight, it made sense why an akuma was sent his way. He shouldn't have let his emotions get the better of him.

But he never expected Plagg to be even more upset than he was. He never expected his own kwami to be akumatized. To become the threat of a city he swore to protect. And what's worse is the fact that Chat Noir can't jump in to save this one.

But Ladybug can. And that's why he has to find her as quickly as possible, suit or no suit.

I love some good Adrien angst, especially with a delicious side order of Plagg and Adrien’s bond with each other. Even as Adrien’s barely functional, though, he’ll do everything in his power to save Plagg, even if Plagg wishes he wouldn’t go quite that far.

Paris is buzzing with the appearance of a new ladybug-themed hero, Scarabella.

Alya decides to use her second hero identity to help her best friend Marinette. A bit of her flirting with Marinette is bound to make Marinette's crushes jealous and finally ask her out! Her plan is fool-proof…!

Except when it's not. Not enough people are talking about Scarabella flirting with Marinette. How can Alya properly help her best friend if the news can't be bothered to cover Marinette's budding romance with Scarabella and only posts things about Marinette with Chat Noir?! So Alya puts her all into her plan, upping up her flirting each time she appears as the newbie hero Scarabella.

This totally does not backfire in any way.

I adore fics that center on Alya, I haven’t exactly been shy about that fact. This is a nice one for some Alyanette adorableness! (And some Scarabella and Chat banter, I really enjoyed reading that as well). “Fake” flirting to make crushes jealous tends to turn real very quickly, and this is no exception. It’s hilarious, Alya’s the last one to figure out that her romantic relationship with Marinette is very much real XD.

A fun and rebellious gesture by her friend Zoé leaves Marinette accidently in possession of something more precious than she ever expected to hold.

It's a blessing. It's a curse. It's life itself.

She has no idea what to do. There is so much wrapped up not only in WHAT, but also WHO. Her friends and partners can offer advice, consolation, and support, but in the end when you are both Ladybug and the Guardian you are the one in control.

This is a fantastic SentiChloe fic. Marinette ends up with Chloe’s amok and isn’t sure what to do with it, whether to try to give it to Chloe, whether to try and use it to make Chloe a better person, or whether to just hold onto it secretly. Along the way, she ends up getting into Chloe’s head, getting a better idea of Chloe’s mindset, what she thinks and feels when she does the things she does. I loved seeing her struggle with figuring out what to do, it ended up being a great character study for both Marinette and Chloe!

Adrino fic here! Marinette’s drunk and feeling awful that her superhero partner is alone on Valentine’s (she’s in a loving and committed relationship with Alya), so she creates a Lucky Charm to help Chat find love! In this universe, Ladybug’s Lucky Charms have the power to create new rules for the universe to follow, such as making one that demands that if you have any magic in you, you have to tell the truth or else you’ll freeze. Or in Adrien’s case, that he has to wake up in the arms of his true love every day XD. It’s very sweet and I love both Adrien’s and Nino’s relationship, and the relationship between the rest of the Miracuteam members as well, even though that’s not the focus.

After defeating Monarch, the search for the Peacock Miraculous brings Ladybug and Chat Noir to a hotel room in London. But it's hard to enjoy the victory when Ladybug can't figure out why Chat's been so quiet, why he seems so sad. How's she supposed to help if she has no idea what's wrong?

This is a great Sentiadrien fic, with Chat freaking out about it and feeling like he’s not worthy of Ladybug’s affections, but not telling her what’s actually wrong because he thinks she won’t want him anymore if she knows. Of course, he’s wrong about that.

Also there’s a pretty intense confrontation with Felix, pissing Chat Noir off is a bad idea.

Adrien is quiet and reserved whenever he's not consumed by stress. And between extracurriculars and modeling and his responsibilities as Mister Bug, he's often stressed. He appreciates his kitten, but he loves his bright and outgoing classmate. Not that she knows that.

Marinette's parents have always allowed her a good deal of independence, but she's felt her confidence skyrocket since getting Plagg. Simply being Lady Noire allows her to be more flirty and free. She likes her friends, but she loves her stoic and heroic partner. Not that he knows that.

This is just a lovely fic that’s exactly what it says on the tin. I like how Rabbit goes into what Lady Noire’s and Mister Bug’s dynamic is like here especially.

So this starts off as just the cute fluff fic of Adrien and Gabriel attempting to make Nathalie a birthday cake that the summary indicates, but soon evolves into a more action-filled drama fic when Gabriel makes the terrible decision to akumatize a cashier while sick... a cashier who happens to be in the same shop as Nathalie and Adrien. Who are willing to put their secret identities at risk in order to save each other.

It was the most difficult decision of his life, but Gabriel did it. He let go of Hawk Moth. He moved on from Emilie. Now, all he wants is to enjoy life with his son and new wife. Unfortunately, a certain nephew of his seems to be determined to unearth what Gabriel needs to remain buried.

I love this look at what could have happened if during the season 3 finale, Gabriel had decided enough was enough and given up on being a supervillain, moving on with Nathalie instead. How much better things could have been if he’d just decided to stop - though Adrien still wouldn’t be happy to discover why Hawk Moth had suddenly stopped attacking.

Oh yeah, there’s an OC here called Gerald who Adrien’s puzzled by, since he’d never heard of this guy before the past year. At the end of the story you find out why he’s included in the story. It’s not a major thing, but it is kind of funny and fits well with the rest of the story.

This is a great Genderfluid!Adrien fic. Marinette actually figures out that Adrien’s not entirely cis before he does, and tries to let him know she’s supportive... but unfortunately Adrien comes to some incorrect conclusions...

Anyway it’s a lot of fun, and Adrien rocks a dress and makeup!

Marinette is at the end of her rope. There seems to be no hope for defeating Monarch, not now that he has most of the Miraculous and has figured out how to transfer their abilities to others.

Tikki has an idea: Awaken the memories of who Marinette was in the past to see if any of their knowledge across time and the multiverse could help.

But this means that Marinette might forever be changed, and so will Chat Noir, if he should choose to do this.

Little did they know that they knew each other in their past lives, and how frequently they crossed paths and even were a couple... well, that meant that they are soulmates.

Star Wars crossover fic here, with Marinette as Obi-wan and Adrien as Quinlan. I like how the reincarnation aspect was handled here, with Obi-wan’s and Quinlan’s memories being prominent and them “waking up” in a way at first, but those settling back down after a bit and Marinette and Adrien going back to being mostly themselves, but with a lot more life experience under their belts and some cool new abilities - which comes in handy for taking down Monarch!

Adrien struggles with the concept of his father and Nathalie having children.

So this is a world where Adrien and Marinette managed to defeat Gabriel, taking his Miraculous, with them giving him an ultimatum: they won’t out him as being Hawk Moth so long as he doesn’t cause any more trouble and does right by Adrien. Gabriel does, in fact, move on finally to Nathalie, giving Adrien a lot of mixed feelings to deal with. He still loves them both despite everything, but he’s also angry at them and he definitely does NOT want them to have children, both because he thinks they’d like any biological child they had more (he’s also harboring guilt from indirectly being the cause of his mom’s death), and because frankly, they screwed up too much with Adrien for him to want them to inflict that on another child.

And then there’s also Adrien dealing with the realization that he’s a Senti on top of that and wondering why he and Felix look the way they do, what Emilie’s reasons were.

It’s mostly just Adrien getting to talk things out, navigating this emotionally fraught situation he finds himself in now that the dust is settled.

Nice Marigami fic here! Or should I say, Ladygami - technically Marinette doesn’t exist, only Ladybug, who’s an immortal creation goddess, or something like that. But she still fights to protect Paris from Hawk Moth alongside Chat Noir, who is still a normal, squishy human underneath the suit.

Anyway, there’s a but of inspiration from Nimona here, with a lot of people being scared of Ladybug because she’s a bit... out there, especially when she shapeshifts to have like, 6 extra arms and a lobster tail. Kagami’s into it though XD

Stay Weird, Ladybug by @diadraws

Ladybug receives an invitation at the end of a patrol!

Contains some of my own headcanons, most notably: MIRACULOUS HOLDERS ARE CREATURES!!! They get actual animal traits when transformed instead of just a costume. My tumblr is diadraws where I elaborate some more on my headcanons which may add some additional context to this fic if you are interested!

CONTENT WARNINGS: *major* depictions of panic attacks, discussion of child neglect/abuse, and a minor emetophobia (vomiting) warning towards the end.

I’ve loved the comics and fanart I’ve seen dia create for this AU, with Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s more animalistic designs, so reading a fic set in that AU was a real treat! It’s mostly just a Ladrien sleepover at Adrien’s house, but it’s very nice and cozy, with some good character development of Adrien helping Ladybug with panic attacks she keeps having.

Damn, poor Felix. He came to try and help Adrien, but instead Gabriel stole his Amok, forcing him to obey his commands, holding him prisoner in his basement for months. If you want some quality Felix whump, this is the fic for you!

He feels very hurt, betrayed, and disbelieving initially about being a Senti and his father being Monarch (...mostly being a Senti, it ain’t that hard to believe that Gabriel was a supervillain), and is angry at everyone who kept it secret from him, but he still handles it well, going and talking to the people involved, getting their reasoning and perspective.

This was a truly gorgeous story. It’s the classic “Marinette gives up the Miracle Box and loses her memories” storyline, exploring her life two years later. Even though she’s had time to heal and recover, she still feels like she’s missing something, something big. At least Adrien’s stopping by regularly to tell her stories about Ladybug and Chat Noir, even if she doesn’t understand why they resonate with her so well.

When Hawkmoth has been defeated and unmasked, Marinette is left with two problems and no solutions.

First, that Adrien is further out of her reach than ever before, and no-one can tell her how to get to him.

Second, that Cat Noir is far more troubled than she knew, and the only thing she can do is wait for him at the place they agreed to meet.

It’s your classic “Hawkmoth’s defeated and taken into custody but that means Adrien’s in for a rough time” sort of fic. Everyone’s worried about Adrien and wants to give him what comfort and support that they can, but he’s being hidden away from everyone (which I mean, honestly that’s a good move), so that’s not really possible. Plus, Ladybug’s noticed that Chat’s having a tough time in his civilian life, which worries her.

Time Locked AU by PumpkinPatchworkQuilt

In Time Locked, instead of just fixing the damage it puts everything post akuma back to exactly how it was, people, buildings, memories, time. Since it’s more extreme than in canon it requires both The Cat and The Ladybug to complete the Cure,(and visually contains both as well). Because of this only those with a miraculous can recall the events and only those who cast the Cure will have any lasting effects from the fight and even then it’s limited to scars, phantom aches, getting a tad more muscle definition and of course spatial displacement in extreme cases.

Since technology is slightly resistant or incompatible with the miraculous magic, footage of right after the akuma attack will survive, on a technicality and as such only reappears when the time catches up the the recorded time, that could be minutes, hours, or days depending on how long it took to defeat the akuma.

This was an interesting AU, I loved the focus on Alya especially and her investigative abilities, figuring out that there was a battle between good and evil taking place in the background of everyone’s lives even though most signs of it are wiped clean after the battle’s over. And Adrien and Marinette pick up on her cleverness and want her to help! I love how much appreciation this fic shows for Alya.

She loved her room. Which made sense, she supposed. She had theoretically been the one to decorate it, but she didn’t remember decorating it. And now, the room was like a cave filled with treasure.

Because each little piece of it held a secret - some part of herself that meant something to her, a clue to what her life had been like before…

Before she had woken up in the arms of a boy wearing a magic black catsuit. His heartbroken sobs had caused something in her chest to twist painfully. She hadn’t understood why then, but from that very first moment she knew she had wanted to make things better for him.

She had no idea how to do that now that she understood what she had lost.

Sixteen years worth of memories.

The echoes of which were papered onto the walls and notebooks of her room just waiting to be rediscovered.

No one else seemed to share her excitement.

Unlike most “Marinette loses her memories” fics, this one isn’t super angst for Marinette - she takes it in stride. Now, everyone else, not so much. It’s really interesting seeing her contrast who she appeared to be before with who she is now, particularly when it comes to her previous self being in love with Adrien and not Chat, while she’s in love with Chat and not Adrien. Of course eventually she finds out certain things that makes that make a lot more sense. She isn’t so different from how she was before after all...

MAJOR EPHEMERAL SPOILERS!!

Ladybug planned to use Viperion's power of Second Chance to get Chat's identity to Su-han without Chat knowing or agreeing.

Of course, then the world went crazy, and she didn't go through with it.

But when an akuma exposes Ladybug's plan to Chat, he doesn't know that. He just knows that his Lady betrayed him.

He deals with his feelings in the best, most mature way he can think of.

He disappears.

So I, like a lot of others, wanted more follow-up on Ephemeral, and particularly on the betrayal of trust it was for Marinette to try to trick Chat Noir into giving up his identity to a third party without his knowledge or consent (I wrote my own take on that at the time, called Transcient, that I’m proud of). This fic did a good job of exploring that, with Adrien reacting in a manner that made sense to me (repressing his negative feelings about the situation as much as possible and trying to justify it to himself, but still feeling terrible despite his own best efforts), and how Marinette realized that she messed up, since Luka keeping it secret that he knows hers and Chat’s secret identities caused her to be upset as well. It did a great job of exploring those negative feelings and letting everyone talk things out, explain their viewpoints, and rebuild their relationships afterwards, which is something I really value.

Life has moved on for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. She's not where she thought she would be seven years ago, but she's still in a good place. Classes, hobbies, friends, her life is full despite the lingering shades of her faded yet sweet middle-school romance. Then just as quick at the first time, someone drops into her life and turns her into an absolute mess once more.

Love and crushes might be her undoing, but she's got a little more experience this time to weather the storm. This fateful stranger stirs memories as well as emotions inside of her, and with a forthrightness her old self would be jealous of, Marinette takes the plunge.

So this is a Trans fic, with Marinette’s new crush being a trans version of a certain classmate who she doesn’t recognize, who’s changed a lot, for the better. I like how it deals with the baggage she has with that person, has her think that through.

Kagami has been doing her best for years to ignore her feelings for her friends. It doesn't help that Adrien and Marinette insist on spending as much time as possible with her, even going so far as inviting her along on their dates together. If only the affection she felt for them wouldn't get in the way of their relationship. Because it is growing harder and harder to tamp down her feelings with how close they are getting to her.

This is adorable. Adrien and Marinette really want Kagami to join their relationship and she just doesn’t dare hope for it. If you want some adorable Adrigaminette from Kagami’s perspective, I recommend checking this fic out!

Hey, first of all, love the reverse AU designs for everyone, your artstyle is so cool!

Second of all, how do you think the rest of the resistance would react to Shadybug and Claw Noir turning good? Would they accept them immediately or just be very distant for a while before they warm up to them?

They'd definitely be very distant and it would take a very very long time for Marinette and Adrien to regain their trust. (In this universe, everyone in the resistence knows each other's identities)

We don't know much about canon reverse Adrien's relationship with reverse Nino other than the fact Adrien "treated him horribly". Adrien is going to very eagerly try to rebuild his friendship with Nino by just pretending nothing ever happened between them and instantly treating Nino like his best pal, which will obviously make Nino very uncomfortable. Adrien will eventually have to confront whatever it is he did/said to Nino and apologize to him. I feel like their friendship will eventually be one of the strongest ones, it would just take a while for them to get there.

As for Marinette and Alya, they never knew each other before this, not even from school since Marinette dropped out of school right around the time Alya moved to Paris. But despite this, they despise each other lmao. If Nino and Adrien rebuilding their friendship takes ages, Marinette and Alya becoming friends would take eons. Alya is not convinced the two of them genuinely switched sides and believes they're tricking them, while Marinette considers Alya a goody two shoes who has no idea what she's been through. They constantly have to set aside their differences to work together

As for the rest of the resistence, there's obviously going to be some distance at first, but most of them will accept them pretty fast. Alix might still distrust them along with Alya for a while, but not to the same extent.

Lila will put on a show of instantly accepting them, but will subtly needle and poke at their insecurities.

My Review of the Miraculous London Special, Part 1

I've watched the London special and I really wanted to write out my thought on it sooner but I got so caught up in reading and reblogging others’s posts that my thoughts got jumbled up.

Anyway, I really wanted to reflect on my theories that I wrote before the release of the episode and share my further speculations, thoughts and questions.

What this part contains:

The opening scene - I'm pondering some of my previous thoughts about Lila and how she utilizes the power of the Butterfly Miraculous.

The wish - A theory about what wish could have wiped out their future.

The opening scene

was quite impactful. We see a miserable Nooroo at Lila’s lair in an invisible force field or something of that sort, which is very interesting. I wonder how Lila was able to make it, maybe every Miraculous holder has that power over their Kwaims.

Then Timestalker appears and it reveals that it’s Lila herself which made me question some things about her.

Not gonna lie, I always thought that Lila could remember every instance she was akumatized, maybe except for the first one. So the fact that she needed the notebook to write everything down as a Timestalker so that she could get the information after she breaks from the Akuma’s effect, surprised me. That’s why the theories about Timestalker being a different person, precisely either Adrien or future Lila, were born in the first place. Also Gabriel, Nathalie and everyone who was able to break from the akumatization remembered what happened (if I remember correctly) so it's baffling why she can't. I want to think that she actually upgraded her Akumas, that it's different from the Akumas Gabriel were using and it's also different from the Mega Akumas. Someone pointed out that she wears the brooch upside down, different from how Gabriel wore it which might have some effect on the powers.

To be honest, I didn't understand Timestalker’s ability at first so I needed to rack my brain a little bit 😅, But after I understood it one thing become clearer: which is, how was Lila able to get the Butterfly Miraculous in her Edna disguise and find out Ladybug’s identity as Timestalker at the same time.

These two moments take place very close in time. But it still doesn't answer the question of how Lila knew that the Butterfly Miraculous will be lost in the rubble. Did she just guess or was she there for something else and found it by chance?

Anyway, my future Lila theory (that I briefly touched at the end of this post) wasn’t that far fetched, but instead of a couple years older Lila we got a couple hours older one and instead of having two of them from a completely different timeline, it’s the same Lila being both villains. Also the boxes had a different purpose than I originally thought.

So, after she de-akumatized herself, she read the notes then quickly akumatized herself again, using her bag this time and became Spectral Looter then disappeared to pay a heartwarming visit to Marinette to steal the Miraculouses. Then she made a wish?

The wish

I expected we would find out what she wished for and what she sacrificed for it, if she even sacrificed anything, but we didn’t. It kinda makes sense, we can’t discover Lilamoth's objective too soon.

At first I thought her wish might be Ladybug to never exist and I will continue to believe that until it is proven otherwise but with a little bit of a modification: she wished for either Marinette or Ladybug or both to not exist. Lila hates both of them with a burning passion and after she found out that the two of them are the same person, it kind of made things easier for her, it's enough to deal with one of them to get rid of both of them.

Like I said, we don't know what she's after so her wish could be literally anything but whatever was it, it was powerful enough to wipe out the future where Alix Kubdel is bunnyx completely and quite fast.

This really is one of the reasons I'm so conflicted about Zoe. I want to like her. I really do. She's adorable. She has a lot of potential. But they just don't let her exist outside of being a "good" Chloe replacement. They just keep BAITING us with stuff like Kitty Noire.

Actually, this is the problem I have with the whole show. So much potential, so little in terms of good execution. I just think it's particularly evident when looking at the Chloe-Zoe-Lila sitch.

While I do love the "off the wall conspiracy theorist" Zoe in HC/LL, I honestly want to see something that leans into her Skater Girl, Pop-Punk thing she's got going on. I feel like she'd get along great with Alix. I also like the idea of making her the weird American, who's a bit too loud and knows too many pop culture references and has a bunch of weird and unrelated skills leftover from navigating NYC and from playing so many different roles to fit in. Just some thoughts:

Actually really good at disguises. Can dress like a high society girl, working class staff, nondescript pedestrian---whatever she needs for a part (looking at you Marino).

Scarily good at navigating crowds and heavy traffic. Never loses sight of people. Also has an impeccable sense of direction.

Learned to use her shoes like nunchucks cuz she saw it in a movie and thought it would be cool.

Girl Scout shit. First aid, peddling overpriced stuff, random merit badges, etc.

Baseball. Definitely played/does play/keeps up with baseball. Someone put a bat in this girl's hands and she'll fuck shit up. Can throw things stupid far

Good at doing actually illegal activities like shoplifting and graffiti, because she probably got peer pressured into it a couple times. Good at sneaking around, being a getaway driver, avoiding security cameras, and outrunning and lying to cops. She's not the slightest bit surprised by the idiotic and corrupt police department, much to everyone else's horror. She's way more surprised that they even bother trying to work with them because she is a firm believer in ACAB and will just lie to their faces.

Staying cool under pressure, especially when dealing with rude people. Worst thing that happens is she defualts to "mask" and picks an unhelpful one.

Idk, just spitballing here. Zoe's wasted potential is one of the things that drives me most insane about miraculous.

GOD though just.

Yeah she could be fantastic if they let her be her own character. But all we get to see is what Chloé would have been.

Ranking the Miracucast by how much Adrien: The Fragrance they own

Marinette: Do you even have to ask? She has gallons. 10/10

Alya: She has more than the average girl her age, but that's mostly because it was on sale and she felt like supporting Adrien in a way that was pretty easy. 5/10

Adrien: Yes. 10/10

Nino: Has gotten at least 1 bottle as a joke. Adrien was not amused. 1/10

Chloe: She has a significantly large amount of Adrien, and she says that she wears it all the time, but her collection isn't decreasing as much as she says it is. Sus. 8/10

Sabrina: Unlike Chloe, Sabrina actually likes this perfume. Main reason Chloe's collection is decreasing is because Sabrina uses it. 8/10 by proxy

Mylene: Had some, but then she learned about some of the stuff that Gabriel puts in his perfumes. Then she set all her bottles on fire. At once. In the classroom. They had to have a fire drill. Maybe it wasn't her smartest idea. But she was tired. 3/10

Ivan: Everyone assumed he was the one who set the fire, and he is doing nothing to dissuade them of that notion. 2/10

Rose: This girl knows her perfume. She sorts it alphabetically. She may or may not make her own, by performing unethical experiments on the perfumes she already owns. The Adrien is no exception, she has more types of it than legally exist on the market. 6/10

Juleka: Actually wears it quite a bit, since A) She kinda likes the smell, B) It's cheap, and C) Adrien uses it as proof that he is in fact endorsing her as a model. The only thing holding her career back is her self-confidence. You can do it Juleka! We believe in you! 7/10

Kim: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. 9/10

Max: Absolutely not. 0/10

Alix: She actually has a pretty sizable collection of the stuff in the Burrow. But none of it seems to be stuff that's currently on the market, it's all weird future versions of the stuff with odd scents, unreleased prototypes that put you at risk of setting it on fire if you use it, or bottles from alternate timelines that somehow survived whatever apocalypse was going on there. It's complicated. But since they're all weird versions of it, she has a nice excuse to not use it. Ever. Alix/10

Nathaniel: Bought a whole bunch and used it to create an art piece for Adrien's birthday. Adrien was extremely amused and gave the artwork a special spot in the corner of his room. It still smells like the fragrance (and bottles) used to make it, which is very good for disguising the scent of Plagg's camembert. 4/10

Lila: Is contractually forced to wear the stuff due to legal shenanigans. She hates it. She hates it so much. But if any of the Agreste Household realize that she isn't wearing it then things will get more ComplicatedTM for her so she just has to deal. 9/10

Luka: Borrows Juleka's sometimes. If it works, it works! The twins already share a lot of stuff anyway, she doesn't mind. Sometimes it leads to Luka getting weird looks from other people, but Luka has never really been one to care about that. 5/10

Kagami: Like Lila, she's basically contractually obligated to wear it. unlike Lila, she doesn't own a single bottle of the stuff. Neither Gabriel nor Tomoe care about it enough to force her, so she will take what she can get. 0/10

Marc: He adamantly refuses to disclose how much of the stuff he has, if any. It's probably one of the best-kept secrets in the entire school. I have no clue either, so I'm just going to give him the average score and you all can try and come up with your own guess. 5/10

Ondine: Kim once bought her some perfume in bulk as a gift (oh, THAT's why his own score was so high, I get it now) but unfortunately perfume is not really practical for a girl who spends a significant amount of her time swimming and showering. She appreciated the gift, though, and wears it when she feels like being fancy! 3/10

Aurore: She's an Adrien fangirl. 'Nuff said. 8/10

Felix: He hates this stuff with a burning passion. Everyone sees him and goes "hey aren't you that guy on the perfume ads?" and he despises it. He actively goes out of his way to tear down posters and deface advertisements, even going to such great lengths as to create sentimonsters with the explicit purpose of reducing sales of Adrien. Felix will do everything in his power to decrease the amount of this stuff in the world. -5/10

Zoe: She arrived after the craze was over and has no context for anything. So she also borrows from Chloe's stash on occasion, but she doesn't really much care for the smell. 4/10

I was wondering

1-Does Marinette invents new powers all by herself or she alredy knew their possibilities somehow (and never mentioned that to kwamis because they seem suprised)

2-Soo about Nadja's plans, will she really sucessfully bring Misterbug and Cheshire to her show? Its been years since i seen that episode but i remember her being akumatised because it didnt go acording to plan. (i guess she showed the picture of them kissing and...?)

3-What are your plans on Lila? Will she stay in background or became someone important to story?

4-Adult Alix seems very very worried about Bread and she talks about how she will pay her back... im assuming something very very wrong happened to Bread or Alix just feels really guilty. (It also confirms she will know her identity in the future. Is it due to her job or at one time she revealed herself or got revealed? oh no)

5-Considering lack of humans in her life, would it be too much of a exaggerate to believe that Mari didnt interact with anyone who isnt a kwami for days at some point?

6-Its more like wanting some sweet karma but when the fuck will Cloe exiled to literally anywhere else? And what about rest of the class? Seeing them comotose in captured au was a balm to my soul. Also, does Mari knows she can teleport Cloe to noth pole and get away with it? Im sure as hell at least half of kwamis would cheer on her.

8-Mari isnt a cat and that probably means she is a bug but what if she is something else? I really can't come with any ideas but thats interesting as heck.

9-If bonding with your kwami in long term means you gain similar traits from them, assuming Bread keeps Plag for much longer does that means she will be much more like cat like? Will she hate showering? Will she knock of stuff from tables? Will she develop heavy preferance to meat? Will she develop claws???

2: Nadja's plan in this AU will come about but unlike in the Cannon, where they kept pushing for higher ratings, there is no concern for the same thing to get to her.

I just got to read both chapters of your AU, and I am really intrigued. I assume Master Fu's death happened before school started, right?

I wonder how seeing a brutal crime scene is going to affect a 13 yo girl.

You mentioned that Adrien would get the Ladybug Miraculous, but not due to Marinette's choice. So does she know Adrien is the holder? Or did she lose/the Kawami took action and Adrien got the earrings without Marinette's approval?

Also, without Fu here, there is no rule that the "Black Cate and Ladybug must not know each other"

Are there any other "dark elements" that you are adding to this AU, other than Hawkmoth being a Murderer? (On that note, I feel Gabriel being Hawkmoth might be a red herring, since we never saw Hawkmoth)

Is Marinette going to have a "different core friend group"? Since she is more reclused in this AU (as seeing a brutal dead body would do to a kid) I assume she will be part of the class, but never be as proactive or "hyped" as she was in canon, like a mix of Julleka and Kagami personalities, with a pinch of Marinette on it.

I wonder if Bunnyx will make an appearance due to this timeline being "so deviated"?

Also, I can't wait to see what makes Marinette choose Plagg instead of Tikki as her Miraculous

Master Fus death happens the summer (really only a few weeks) before freshman year! But Im having fbau!Marinette be 14 when she becomes guardian, so she turns 15 during the school year (befana) (same goes for Adrien, only he turns 15 in bubbler before Mari). Either way, she’s still a brand new teenager and she definitely definitely struggles having seen the murder scene, and just not having the support of Master Fu.

Marinette does not know Adrien is the ladybug holder! I don’t want to give much away, but the main idea is Marinette has someone else in mind and Tikki decides takes matters into her own hands. Since Beetle wasn’t the chosen holder by Feline, she takes some anger and her own guilt from disappointing Tikki out on him before coming to terms with him as a partner, and eventually getting close with him

Not entirely decided, but probably! More mental health/illness stuff cause what’s an AU without a little trauma, probably a bit more violent akumas/mature themes but just gotta wait and see

She has mostly the same friends, but she is much more recluse! She tries to stay out of class drama so bye bye being class president, and now she has bigger problems than high school bullies so she doesn’t stand up for herself as much against chloe/lila (but alya has no problem doing so for her), and she shies away from group events/having people over. This is a big reason why Adrien really wants to befriend her and help her open up :)

I don’t currently have any plans for Bunnix to show up since Luka uses the rabbit miraculous in this au, but it would be a fun cameo!! I’ll definitely think about it + I love Alix so i’m sure i’ll find a place to have her pop in. For now let’s say she leaves the brunt of the work to Tempore Lapin

A lot of different factors go into Marinette picking the black cat rather than the ladybug, but i’d say the biggest one is probably the difference between Tikkis support and Plaggs support! Tikki tries to remain optimistic a lot, looking at the positives and trying to comfort her holder when they’re not okay. Plagg aims more for a coping with humor technique, but can pull it together when really necessary. His support is based much more around wanting what’s best for Marinette, even if that puts him and the other kwamis in peril (not having a guardian/holders). He values her honesty and genuine struggles with caring for the miraculous while Tikki aims to reassure that Adrien he has what it takes and can do it! [TLDR: Tikki says “You can do this! I believe in you! You’re a hero!” Plagg says “I’m here for you! This is your decision! It’s not all on your shoulders!”]

Marinette decided to do some research on RMS Queen Mary turn out to be haunted in some areas and rooms. There is one thing she never told her friends about except her family knew this ever since she was very little she can see spirits and talk to them but she doesn't deal with demons but she doest help spirits to cross over from a mirror portal. So she asked if her group of friends wanna come but decided to set up for a field trip since some of her classmates and teachers doesn't believe in ghost unlike her friends from her group.

Chloe suggested to take the Full Suites for herself, Kagami, Marinette, Felix, Luka, and Adrien. But the rest of the class gets Mini Suites. Marinette stated that Lila, Alya, Bustier, and Damocles gets the haunted room.

While Lila decided to take credit of Marinette of assigning field trips and make some lies about RMS Queen Mary. But some students in the class doesn't believe it they did their own search on their phone.

But at the end it goes really bad for Lila, Alya, Bustier, and Damocles they all have marks from a demonic entity who isn't very happy with them or perhaps provoking any spirits in the room they are staying in which is B340.

10. adrienette becoming a thing in the worst way possible. like no previous issues were talked about or fixed, they just… became a happy perfect couple. i frl wanted them to have stuff to work through. and like arguments and problems and the like. the “getting together” bit would’ve felt so much more rewarding then.

Chapter One-She's In THAT CAMP?!

Lila attempted to lie, saying that she found the show Total Drama Island and made Chris McLean the host. However, before she could say anything, the commercial was over, the show was back on, and all the kids started watching it.

"Welcome back to Total Drama Island."

Lila growls and scolds when the show is back on.

"Alright, it's time to meet our first eleven campers. We told them they'd be all staying at a five-star resort, so if they seem a little T.O'd, that's probably why."

After a while, they see all the contestants, such as Beth, DJ, Gwen, Geoff, Lindsay, Heather, Duncan, Tyler, Harold, Trent, Bridgette, Noah, Leshawna, Sadie, Katie, Ezekiel, Cody, Eva, Owen, Courtney, Justin, and Izzy, they watch Chris saying something.

"And now, for our last two campers, one, I'm sure you all probably know that she's famously known around the world. One of the world-known famous celebrity idols from London, Mary-Loukritia "Lucy" "Lou" Corleone. AKA, Madame Hatter from the famous idol group, the MetaBetas!"

Lindsay, Sadie, and Katie squeal as they all see the girl, Lucy Corleone, in person.

Lucy smiles with her doe brown eyes, deep brunette hair in a ponytail, and dusting off the dust on her gray crop-top hoodie, black designer leggings, and white sneakers. She then moves the strands of her hair and tucks it behind her left ear, which has a black diamond stud earring that appears to be magnetic with no piercing that is required.

"Ciao, Signor McLean."

"One of the world-renowned famous celebrity idols, Lucy Corleone," Chris said, introducing them to the camper/contestant as Lucy walked with her suitcases.

As Lucy walked, she placed her suitcases along with the other luggage.

The class looked both surprised and amazed at the same time. The kids were astonished that one of the MetaBetas idols was on the show. Lila smirked, believing this was a chance to get more popular with the class. Before she can spout out another lie about Lucy and the MetaBetas, Chris continues as another boat with the last contestant arrives, which makes Lila growl again in anger and frustration.

"And last but not least, we have this last contestant who is recommended to us from a school in Paris, France," he explains. The class looked surprised to hear that. "Someone from here is now on this show? So cool!" Alix said, astonished. The kids agreed, impressed that someone in Paris was now on the show. Lila was about to tell them it was her best friend until Chris interrupted, continuing the introduction, which made her growl in frustration again. "She's a rising fashion designer, became popular overnight, and now has good connections with her famous commissioners. It's...Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" "Wait," "What?!"

Then, they all see Marinette getting off the boat with her luggage, bags, and a box full of paint.

"Marinette?!" "She's in THAT camp?!" "Dude!"

The class looked shocked, seeing that Marinette was the last contestant on the show and Wawanakwa was the camp they sent her to. Lila looked shocked too, quietly snuck out of the crowd, went to the hallway, and growled loudly in jealousy and anger, with teeth gritted out and grinding like crazy. Then, she heads to the bathroom and punches the wall.

Meanwhile, in Ontario. Marinette looks shy, seeing that she is now at the camp she was being sent to, and sees that there are new faces that she has never met before. She sighs and smiles.

"Bonjour. It's very nice to meet all of you." Marinette said, smiling shyly. She then looks shy but then offers them the baked goods she had brung with her. "Macaroons?" Chris gladly takes one. "Merci." Marinette then headed to the other campers and gave them some while heading to put her luggage up with the others. "These are really good!" Owen says, happily enjoying his.

After that, Chris gets their attention. "Alright, first things first. We need a group photo for the promos. Everyone at the end of the dock." When the campers headed to the end of the dock, Marinette stood next to Lucy. Owen then lifts them up on his shoulders for them. Marinette and Lucy looked at each other and just shrugged with smiles. As they were smiling for the camera, "One, two, three... Oops, forgot the lens cap." After the cap was off, he took the picture, "One two- oh no, wait, card's full. Hang on."

"Come on, man. My face is starting to freeze." Leshawna said with grit teeth and a smile while rolling her eyes. "Got it. Okay, everyone say, Wawanakwa!"

When the campers said Wawanakwa, the dock suddenly collapsed. The picture was taken at the same time, which shows most of the teenagers either almost drowning and/or swimming for their lives, while the photo got Lucy and Marinette, who both smiled for the photo, before they ended up in the water along with the other campers.

"Okay, guys. Dry off and meet at the campfire at ten." Chris said.

After getting back up at the docks and drying off, Marinette heads to the campfire, where she and the rest of the campers are supposed to meet Chris. There, she sees Lucy. "Uh, is it okay if I sit here?" she asked. Lucy smiles and nods her head to her. Marinette smiled and sat down next to Lucy. Marinette then gets another macaroon out of the box and splits it in half for her and Lucy. "Marinette." "Mary-Loukritia. Lucy for short."

After a while, the rest of the campers came and sat down with the two while Chris talked, "This is Camp Wawanakwa. Your home for the next eight weeks. The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates. Your competition. And maybe even your friends. You dig? The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest without getting voted off will win one hundred thousand dollars!" 'Wait a minute, Total Drama Island? Voted off? One hundred thousand dollars? Isn't this supposed to be a summer camp or something?' Marinette thought, getting confused. She then snaps out of it as the punky-looking guy, who she believes is named Duncan, starts talking. "Excuse me, what will the sleeping arrangements be? Because I would like to request a bunk under one of those two," he said, motioning to Marinette and Lucy, which made them glance at each other, looking a bit uneasy. "They're not co-ed, are they?" asked Heather. "No, girls get one side of each cabin, and dudes get the other," Chris said, making Marinette and Lucy both relieved to hear that.

"Excuse me, Kyle? Can I have a cabin with a lake view since I'm the prettiest?" asked Lindsay. "Okay, you are, but that's not how it really works here. And it's Chris," said Chris.

"I have to live with Sadie, or I'll die." "And I'll break out in hives. It's true." 'I know I shouldn't think bad, but I hear worse lies from Lila/those people who got the greed and want for fame get the best of them.' Marinette and Lucy both thought to themselves while looking unamused. "This cannot be happening." Gwen lets out with sarcasm written all over the tone of her voice. "Come on, guys. It'll be fun." Owen said, trying to bring positivity to the campers while headlocking Tyler and Gwen. "It's like a big sleepover." "At least you don't have to sleep next to him," Tyler whispers to Gwen, motioning to Duncan as he gives the poor deer a headlock and a noogie.

"Here's the deal." Chris said, "We're gonna split you into two teams." 'Oh, goodie. This is like that fantasy book all over again.' Lucy thought with a hint of sarcasm, thinking that this would be like the fantasy book series she and her friends from home read back when they were in middle school. Chris continues, "If I call your name out, stand over there." With that, Chris starts calling the names of the campers. "Gwen, Trent, Heather, Cody, Lindsay, Beth, Katie, Owen, Leshawna, Justin, and Noah. From this moment on, you are officially known as the Screaming Gophers." Chris moves on to the second team. "The rest of you over here. Geoff, Bridgette, D.J, Tyler, Sadie, Izzy, Courtney, Ezekiel, Duncan, Eva, and Harold." As they head to the other side from the Screaming Gophers, Chris tells them what they're called. "You guys will be officially known as the Killer Bass."

"Wait, what about Marinette and Lucy?" Cody questions. "Well, since we can't decide which team they will be in, we decided to let the two switch teams. Isn't that fun?" Chris said, "So for right now, they will be part of the Screaming Gophers." Cody sighs in relief hearing that.

"Okay. I don't know what to say in this confessional. But I like to say, this is gonna be a good camping experience for me."

"Alright, any questions? Cool. Let's find your cabins."

With that, they headed over to the location where their cabins were so the campers could get settled.

"Gophers, you're in the east cabin, bass, you're in the west," Chris explains. When the Screaming Gophers got to their cabin, Heather looked as if she saw someone grow another head. "Bunk beds? Isn't this a little, summer camp?" she asked. "That's the idea, genius," Gwen said as she moved past Heather. Heather scoffs, "Shut it, weird goth girl."

'Oh great. And here I thought The Sides' rivalry was terrible enough. By the end of this show and season, Gwen and Heather are going to have a stronger rivalry than The Sides themselves.' Lucy thought, rolling her eyes as she unpacked. "Look, if you two are gonna start a rivalry, leave me out of the chaos. I already had enough drama in my life since my freshman year of high school," she said, with seriousness and venom in her tone. Heather and Gwen shivered from her venomous words. They know that Lucy is not someone to mess with, so they keep their mouths shut and start to unpack their things. "You're smart. I feel that." Lucy turned to see Cody. "Shouldn't you be on the boy's side?" Gwen asked.

After that, Gwen threw Cody out of the girl's side of the cabin. That was until Lindsay then asked another question. "Where are the outlets? I have to plug in my straightening iron." "There are some in the communal bathrooms, just across the way," Chris explained. "Communal bathrooms? But I'm not Catholic." "Not communion. Communal." "It means we shower together, Lindsay. But I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like those shower rooms from the horror book and film versions of Stephanie Queen's Clara. There's a difference." Lucy explained, telling Lindsay what communal means. "Oh, okay," Lindsay said, now understanding what Lucy meant about the communal bathrooms. Then Geoff started talking to Chris. "Excuse me, Chris. Is there a chaperone of any kind in this facility?" "You're all sixteen years old," Chris said. "As old as a counselor in training at a regular summer camp. So, other than myself, you'll be unsupervised. You've got half an hour to unpack and meet me back at the main lodge. Starting now." "Nice," said Geoff.

Suddenly, a scream was heard loud and clear outside of the cabin. The teens looked to see it was Lindsay, who was getting away from the cockroach. D.J. screamed as well as they all saw the roach, then leaped on a bed in fear and broke it. "That was my bed," Gwen said, looking unamused.

The roach continues to crawl, and the campers are screaming in fear and avoiding the cockroach. Then, Duncan holds an axe, ready to decapitate it. Until Marinette stops him, has the roach in her fingers, and takes it outside. "There. No cockroaches in my cabin," she said. Marinette then heads back to the cabin, where everyone looks surprised. "My uncle dealt with bugs like cockroaches back then," she explained while she continued unpacking. "Nice," Lucy said as she and Marinette fist-pound.

After that, they went to the main lodge. Marinette and Lucy thanked the chef for the food he made and gave them, and they walked to sit down with the Gophers. After a little while, Chris enters. "Welcome to the main lodge," he said. "Yo, my man. Can we order a pizza?" Geoff asked. That was until Chef tosses a cooking knife that barely misses Chris on the left and to Marinette's right. Everyone became scared of that. Everyone except Chris, Marinette, and Lucy. "Whoa! It's cool, G! Brown slop is cool! Right guys?" The campers agreed in fear. Chris then continues, "Your first challenge begins in one hour."

"What do you think they'll make us do?" Katie asked. "It's our first challenge." said D.J. "How bad can it be?"

"Whoa." said Lucy. When the challenge came, everyone was now in their swimwear, on a thousand-foot cliff, seeing that this was their first challenge.

"Non l'ho visto arrivare, eh?"

"Nope. Did not see that coming."

"Okay, today's challenge is threefold. Your first task is to jump off this one-thousand-foot-high cliff into the lake." Chris said, explaining the challenge tasks to the campers. "If you look down, you will see two target areas." They all looked to see the two target areas Chris was talking about. "The wider area represents the part of the lake that we have stocked with psychotic man-eating sharks." Marinette gulps, as she already noticed the sharks. Chris continues, "Inside that area is a Safe Zone. That's your target area. Which we're pretty sure is shark-free." "Excuse me?" said Leshawna. "For each member of your team that jumps and survives, there will be a crate of supplies waiting below. Inside the crates are supplies that you will need for the second part of the challenge. Building a hot tub. The team with the best one gets to have a wicked hot tub party tonight. The losers will be sending someone home." After explaining their first challenge, Chris starts the challenge. "Let's see. Killer Bass, you're up first."

"So, who wants to go first?" Bridgette asked. The rest of the Killer Bass team were silent, not volunteering to be the first to take the first dive down from the cliff to the Safe Zone. The Screaming Gophers were even quiet. The atmosphere felt like a person could cut it easily with a plastic butter knife. That was until Owen breaks the ice, trying to lighten the mood. "Hey, don't sweat it, guys. I heard that these shows always make the interns do the stunt first to be sure it's survivable," he said. Marinette and Lucy smiled. "Owen's right, guys. I'm sure they did test it out. After all, the last thing this place needs is a lawsuit." Marinette said encouragingly. Lucy nods in agreement, "Yeah, and I'll be darned if that happens." Lucy said with confidence already running in her veins. After agreeing that this was tested before they arrived, the Killer Bass continued, trying to figure out who was jumping first. "So, who's up?" asked Eva. "Ladies first," said Duncan. "Fine. I'll go." Bridgette said. "You got this, Bridgette," Lucy said. Marinette nods in agreement. "No regrets!" Bridgette smiles.

After that, she says as she prepares to dive, "It's no big deal. It's just an insane cliff dive into a circle of angry sharks." As she jumped, she made it safely into the Safe Zone. The campers were happy seeing that she made it into the Safe Zone. "She did it!" said Tyler. "Yeah! I'm next!" With that, Tyler jumps next, letting out a 'Cowabunga' until he lands on a buoy. Bridgette winced the pain she had witnessed, while Tyler groaned in pain, yet he was still in the Safe Zone.

Geoff jumps off the cliff after Tyler. Eva was next, letting out a 'Lookout below!', and then Duncan, who was crossing his arms, not looking amused. It was D.J.'s turn, however, "Uh-uh. No way, man. I'm not jumping." "Scared of heights?" asked Chris. "Yeah. Ever since I was a kid." said D.J. "That's okay, big guy. Unfortunately, that also makes you a chicken. So, you'll have to wear this for the rest of the day." Chris explained, putting a chicken hat on D.J.'s head. "Oh, man. For real?" said D.J. After balking like an actual chicken, "That means the chicken path down is that way." Chris said, pointing to an escalator that was surprisingly there at the cliff. As D.J. walks to the escalator, Marinette stops him, saying, "It's okay, D.J. There's no shame about not doing it due to a fear of heights." D.J. smiled. "Thanks, Marinette," he said.

After D.J. went to the Chicken Path, Ezekiel was next. He jumps until he bumps into a rock on the cliff, spinning in circles, and makes it safely into the Safe Zone. The Killer Bass, who jumped off, cheered while Ezekiel gave a thumbs up. Harold was next. He jumped until he landed in the Safe Zone on his crotch, which caused him to scream in pain, which made everyone, including the sharks, wince the pain he was now in.

"Oh, hate to see that happen," said Chris. "Excuse me, Chris. I have a medical condition." Courtney announced to him. "What condition?" "A condition that prevents me from jumping off cliffs." "You can chicken out if you want. But it might end up costing your team the win. And they will hate you." Chris said, pointing out what would happen if Courtney chickened out. "It's a calculated risk. I've seen the other team, and I don't think any of them will jump." "Alright, here's your chicken hat," Chris said, putting the chicken hat on Courtney's head. After that, he looks at his clipboard, tallying up the results. "That's eight jumpers and two chickens. We're missing one."

Sadie complained that she couldn't jump without Katie. After a minute of the two begging Chris, Izzy offers to switch teams with Katie, so as a result, Chris gives in. Making Katie part of the Killer Bass and Izzy with the Screaming Gophers. After that, Sadie and Katie jumped, joining the rest of the Killer Bass.

"Okay. So that's nine jumpers and two chickens. Screaming Gophers, if you can beat that, we'll throw in a pole cart to put your crates on." Chris said to the Screaming Gophers. "Nice," Trent said. "Okay, guys. Who's up first?"

"I'm sorry," Heather said, crossing her arms. "There's no way I'm doing this." "Why not?" Beth asked. "Hello? National T.V. I'll get my hair wet." 'Excuses, excuses, excuses. Oh, great. Now I sound like Mr. Sword Maker.' Lucy thought, with an eye twitch from both her stress and anger, until she looked unamused, sounding like a certain someone she knew as a child. She then snaps out of it when she hears her team continue, "You're kidding right?" said Gwen. "If she's not doing it, I'm not doing it," Lindsay said. "Lindsay, please, you don't have to blindly follow Heather's way," Marinette said. "Oh, you're doing it," said Leshawna.

After seeing Heather and Leshawna arguing, Lucy starts to see red. She stomps to Heather, grabs her, holds her up, and stomps to the end of the cliff. "I'm sorry, Heather. But I have about enough of this messed up drama that we have witnessed. Your lousy little excuses and talkbacks are just nothing but a giant waste of my time and everyone else's. So, shut your trap, shove it down, and get in there, NOW!" After saying that, Lucy throws Heather into the Safe Zone. "And that, campers, is a life lesson. Do NOT make a Corleone mad." Chris said with a smile on his face.

CONFESSIONAL: MARY-LOUKRITIA CORLEONE

"I had this stress and anger issue combination since my first day and freshman year of high school. After going through some things, I've been having these two issues all my life, to this day. The only thing good to know is that I have two systems of calming my stress and anger. And one of them is my two essential oils." Lucy then shows two bottles of essential oils labeled Stress and Anger Management. "These two are the only things that can help me calm down when I'm out. Without them, who knows what could happen."

Heather gets up from the lake, catches her breath, and glares daggers at Lucy. "Corleone, you are so dead!" she yelled for Lucy to hear. "Hey! She threw you into the Safe Zone, didn't she?" yelled Leshawna. She then turned to the rest of the team and said, "Now I just hope I can hit it too." After that, she jumped and made it safely into the Safe Zone with Heather.

Lindsay was then next, yet she appeared to be scared. "I thought this was going to be a talent contest," she said in fear. Chris laughs, "Yeah, no." After Lindsay jumped off the cliff. Then it was Gwen, followed by Cody, and then Izzy.

Justin was next, but after he jumped, he made it outside the Safe Zone. However, the sharks took him to the other jumpers and chickens instead of attacking him. "He's even popular with sea creatures." Lucy said, surprised. Beth then chickens out, which makes it Marinette's turn. She gulps, looking down. "I can jump with you, Nettie." Marinette looked to see Lucy smiling at her. Marinette smiles. She took a quick breath, and with that, she and Lucy both jumped. When they did, Marinette saw she was in the Safe Zone. The jumpers and chickens cheer for her. As she gets on the boat, she sees that Lucy is not in the Safe Zone. "Lucy, look out!" Cody yelped. But before the sharks can attack her, Lucy grabs the two sharks by the gills and pulls them the way a child does to a mother's earrings, which makes them swim away from her. "Thank you, fact-checking," Lucy said, swimming to the boat to join Marinette.

After Trent jumped, Chris talked to the rest of the jumpers and chickens with a megaphone, "Okay, campers. There's only one person left. You guys need this jump for the win." Chris then turns to Owen, "No pressure, dude." After a quick pause, "Okay, there's pressure." The Screaming Gophers started cheering for Owen to jump.

CONFESSIONAL: OWEN

"Oh, I was pretty darn nervous. You see the thing is, I'm not that strong a swimmer."

CONFESSIONAL: GEOFF

"I'm looking at this guy and thinking, there's no way he's gonna make it."

They all looked up to see Owen if he could jump or not. Then, he jumps, landing in the Safe Zone, making a big splash that splashes on the campers. Including the sharks. "The winners! The Screaming Gophers!" Chris announced. "That was awesome, dude," Trent said. That was until Owen started looking around. "What's wrong?" "I uh, I think I lost my bathing suit." The campers groaned in disgust.

"My eyes and ears will never be clean," Lucy said as she looked away while Marinette agreed. "I noticed," she said.

After hitting the showers and changing into casual clothes, they returned to bring the crates to their cabins. The Screaming Gophers use the pole cart they won, while the Killer Bass all have to carry all of theirs. When the Screaming Gophers got to the campground, they started using their teeth to open their crates.

After opening their crates, they got the supplies they needed to build their hot tub. While Lucy and Leshawna were getting the supplies, Heather and Lindsey walked to the two. "I just wanted to say I didn't mean that about you being a ghetto rap star wannabe. And I love your earrings. They're so pretty." she said, making amends to Leshawna. "Straight up?" Leshawna asked. "Well, I'm sorry I threw you over the cliff," Lucy said with a smile and crossed her arms. "No worries. I needed a push," said Heather.

After making up with Heather, they continued getting the supplies out. They then looked to see that the Killer Bass made it. Lucy then noticed something. "Hey, where are Sadie and Katie?" she asked. "They're just getting a drink," Courtney said, quickly answering the question. Marinette gasps as she sees Courtney's right swollen eye. "Courtney, what happened?" She asked. Courtney realized what she was asking about, and she quickly covered her eye with her hand. "Nothing, it's just an allergy," she said. "I think it's getting worse." Ezekiel pointed out. "Shut it. We don't want them to know that," whispered Courtney.

After a while, the Screaming Gophers got all the supplies and started building the hot tub. Then, it was finally time for Chris to see them. Chris starts with the Screaming Gophers. "This is an awesome hot tub!" he said. Chris then heads over to the Killer Bass with their hot tub. However, when he checked it out, the hot tub fell apart.

"Well, I think we have a winner here...the Screaming Gophers!" Chris announced. The Screaming Gophers cheered upon hearing that they had won the challenge. "Gophers, you're from elimination, and you get to rock this awesome hot tub for the rest of the summer. Bonus!" he said to them. Marinette was happy to hear that her team won the challenge. 'Maybe this camp isn't so bad after all.' she thought happily. Chris then turns to the Killer Bass. "Killer Bass, what can I say? Stinks to be you right now. I'll see your sorry butts at the bonfire tonight." he said.

"Our first day in this cruddy summer camp and the coolest part of it is that we won our first challenge and we get to stay for the next three days. Best summer experience we'll have ever." Lucy said, holding her fist up to Marinette, "Punch it in." Marinette understood it was a fist pound, smiled, fist-pounded with Lucy, and said, "Punch it in."

After that, everyone was back at the lounge, eating the dinner Chef had made. Lucy was enjoying her dinner when she heard the Killer Bass' conversation about who should be voted off their team.

"Well, I think it should be Princess or the brick house here," Duncan said, pointing to Courtney and D.J.. "What? Why?" Courtney asked. "Because unless I'm mistaken, you two are the only ones here wearing chicken hats. And if we ever have to lift a truck, I like our odds with the big guy." Duncan explained. "But you guys need me," exclaimed Courtney. "I'm the only one-" "We know," Bridgette said, interrupting Courtney before she can finish her sentence. "You used to be a real CIT. Who would you pick?" Courtney looks around and then points to Tyler. "What about him?" "NO!" yelled Lindsey. The Screaming Gophers and the Killer Bass to her, and she started making an excuse to get the unwanted attention away from her. "I mean no...salt, There's no salt on the table, bummer." "Oh, sorry, Lindsey, I lent it to Cody. Here." Marinette says as Cody passes it to Lindsey. "Thanks," said Lindsey. "Hey, at least he jumped off the cliff, chicken wing." "Shut it!" "Okay, let's just chill out," Geoff said, trying to stop the argument between Courtney and Duncan. "This is getting way too heavy." "I've had enough prison food for one day," Duncan says as he gets up. "I'm gonna go have a nap." "You can't do that! We haven't decided who's going yet!" yelled Courtney. "Well, I just don't get why we lost, eh? They're the ones that have eight girls. And one of them is being a hot idol wannabe." Hearing Ezekiel say those words caused everyone, including Duncan, to freeze in shock. Marinette spat out her water while Lucy coughed from her water after hearing those words come out of Ezekiel's mouth.

"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Bridgette. "Yeah, homeschool. Enlighten us!" Eva said, putting her fist on the table. "Well, guys are much stronger and better at sports, music, singing, and dancing than girls are," said Ezekiel. Lucy's eyes started glowing red in rage after hearing that. No one around her was aware of her now glowing eye. "Oh, snap. He did not just say that," said Geoff. Ezekiel continued. "My dad told me to look out for the girls, eh? And to help them in case they can't keep up." Eva then grabbed Ezekiel by the neck with her two hands and lifted him. "Still think we need your help keeping up?" she asked, shaking him to prove her point. "Not really," he said. Geoff then jumps in. "Okay, guys. Let's give him a break," he said, while Eva dropped Ezekiel. "I mean, at least he doesn't think that guys are smarter than girls." "But, they are," said Ezekiel.

"Okay... THAT DOES IT!" Lucy yelled, grabbing Ezekiel. She then takes him back to the cliff, throws him outside the Safe Zone, and yells, "FATALITY YOU, YOU BETA-PUNK! GO BURN IN LAVA!" After that, she walks off, dusting off her hands and ignoring all the screams from Ezekiel while he was swimming away from the sharks.

CONFESSIONAL: MARY-LOUKRITIA CORLEONE

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the triggers of my anger issue. One is sexist punks, sexism, misogyny, misogynists, and chauvinists. People and things like that always get on my nerves since I was four. And don't even get me started on that play I used to be on when I was that age." Lucy stuck her tongue out in disgust, reminiscing what happened in her old school days.

After a while, it was finally time for the bonfire elimination ceremony. All the girls in the Killer Bass were already glaring at Ezekiel after what happened in the main lodge. "Dude, you've got a lot to learn about the real world," Duncan said. Chris then gets the team's attention. "Killer Bass. At camp, marshmallows represent what you enjoy by the fire. At this camp, marshmallows represent life. You've all cast your votes. There are only ten marshmallows on this plate. When I call your name, come up and claim your marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow tonight must immediately return to the Dock of Shame. To catch the Boat of Losers. That means you're out of the contest. And you can't come back. Ever. The first marshmallow goes to...Geoff. Tyler. Katie. Bridgette. D.J.. Harold. Sadie. Duncan. Campers, this is the final marshmallow of the evening...Courtney." Courtney was relieved to know that she was okay and not eliminated. "Can't say I'm shocked. Saw you picking your nose, dude. Not cool." Chris said to Ezekiel. "Dock of Shame is that way, bro." As Ezekiel walks to the Dock of Shame, Chris turns to the rest of the Killer Bass. "The rest of you. Enjoy your marshmallows. You're all safe. For tonight."

"Yup. This camp pretty much still stinks. But now that I'm here, I guess I might as well try to win."

After the elimination ceremony concluded, the Screaming Gophers were celebrating. For their victory. Lucy and Marinette raised their lemonade juice boxes and said in unison, "To the Screaming Gophers!" "To the Screaming Gophers!" their team cheered.

The Killer Bass were heading to their cabin, and Courtney stopped. "Are you recording this? Good. They can enjoy their little party all they want. But I'm gonna win this competition. And no one is gonna stop me." she said. That was until a water balloon hit her on the head.

"Sorry! Foul ball!" called Lucy.
