I watched dead poets society again today, and...hear me out: a msm dps au. as in:

Horizon Academy breeds some of the most brilliant minds on the east coast, including Harry Osborn (son of Norman Osborn), Gwen Stacy (niece of Raymond Warren), Anya Corazon, Miles Morales, Randy Robertson, Alistair Smythe (son of Spencer Smythe), and Peter Parker (the school's newest student). The school was designed for geniuses, setting them on pathways to bright futures, but that's all it ever was. When Max Modell joins the staff, encouraging his students to think outside the box, he accidentally leads some of his students to discover the Dead Poets Society: a club Max himself had spearheaded during his time at Horizon.

Max was really my only option for the role Keating plays in the plotline, and Alistair is there bc, if you've seen dps, he's like Cameron, in a way. cares more about himself and the system than those around him. kinda a suckup.

I'm so sorry to Randy for this, but I needed a Knox. obviously removing the weird part from the party and other details that give me second hand embarrassment, but I think he and Liz would be cute together. At the moment, Liz and Flash are together (as far as original dps goes, I'm a chet danbury advocate, personally, so this isn't an insult to flash) (I will be watering down the knox subplot though)

Peter is the new kid, BUT Anya's older (step, I think) sister attended Horizon, so she has that internal motivation/insecurity that Todd had.

Miles, near the end, sends in an article, except its to (enthusiastically) advocate for more humanities/free thinking programs at Horizon, which the administrators don't take very well.

And then there's Harry. He tries acting like Neil in the original, and while he isn't quite as dead-set on it as Neil was, it's part of his journey of trying new things his father wouldn't approve of: finally giving himself some freedom, so when he still goes on with the play out of determination, Norman isn't happy and decides to take him out of Horizon (and put him into Oz Academy, which would be too much like homeschooling to him. it would also be far from Horizon and all of his friends and newfound freedom) (then he...at least tries to kill himself. I might be nice and attempt to fix it but its not a dps au if no one kills themself tbh) (also I'm thinking I'll have it be a different shakespeare play. that would require me to actually learn about shakespeare plays though so we'll see)

Mayor Luke Cage makes a stand in confronting one of Smythe's Spider-Slayer (or rather Superhero-Slayer) robots. After making a rally speech, Luke punches a robot which then prompts the policemen to open fire at the robot. Luke and the police are fighting hard when Cloak, Dagger, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand came in as reinforcements to help Luke Cage. Meanwhile, Alistaire Smythe watches the scene on the televised screen in his lair and he unleashes more robots to take down the heroes. Back on the battleground; Luke and the heroes are fighting hard while Jessica Jones saves the lives of the police officers from getting shot by robots. However, despite the heroes' efforts, the robot army show no signs of slowing down. Danny Rand tells Luke Cage that the odds are getting impossible for them so he has to find a way to defeat Smythe's robots. When Danny left the battle, more robots are coming in. Despite their growing exhaustion; Luke and the heroes (sans Danny) kept on fighting the robots. Danny calls Luke to come over to the warehouse where they have to get something to defeat the robot army. On the battleground, the heroes are still fighting the robot army until they see something at the distance. It's Luke Cage piloting the mecha-suit and he's ready to kick Smythe's robot asses.

I'm so baffled as to how Peter exactly...did this, haha. Did he, like, slink out of his Spider-Man costume and fill it with webbing, I guess?

Whatever the case, giving Smythe full access to his costume will end badly for Peter later, I'm sure.

I love how Betty is unintentionally telling Peter he has to have more respect for himself.

Ann-Marie Jane is a directionless young adult, working a nothing office job in the city, whose life is turned upside down when she comes into possession of a techno-organic symbiote that latches onto her wrist.

On the plus side, she can transform into an armoured superhero everyone calls the Spider-Rider.

On the flip side, she’s being hunted by scientists from the super secret Osborn Collective and the mercenaries they hire, all looking to reclaim the symbiote they call PP-62. But she just calls him Pete.

Being 20-something is hard enough, but add super powers and actively having murder attempts made against you everyday, and that shit’s abysmal.
