A knight of the Kingsguard, the former Lord Commander, and longtime sworn protector of Queen Alicent, Criston is 48, and has served the crown for over twenty years. Recently stripped of the title of Lord Commander after the death of King Viserys and ascension of his daughter, the new Queen Rhaenyra, he remains a knight of the Kingsguard, and the personal guard of Queen Alicent, alongside having—at times whispered—extreme sense of loyalty to both her Grace, and her children, especially her sons Princes Aegon, Aemond, and Daeron. He is further known to have a marked emnity against Queen Rhaenyra, whom he originally served as a sworn sword in her adolescence, though even rumors do not agree as to why, alongside a rather blatant contempt for her Consort, Prince Daemon, and a longtime grudge against the her eldest sons, Princes Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey.
