i just wanted an excuse to post to say thank u for all the interaction on my recent posts !! it makes me very happy, even tho this isnt persona

i may be way too normal about this but i love that in kaveh's hangout, when talking about faranak and her troubles with art, zaha hadi says that not even kaveh's father could understand her designs but "despite that, he still stayed next to her, listening to her joys and sharing in her sorrows."

and in kaveh's story we read this: Alhaitham, on the other hand, listened intently to Kaveh's words, and seeing through him once more, asked him a difficult question: "How has realizing your ideals gone for you?"

kaveh always complains that alhaitham will never understand beauty, art or his work but that doesn't mean that his lack of understanding also lacks support – he's gonna be there to ground him, always

This was originally for pride month, finished it in July and this is part 3 of my hypothesis. This might do well, I hope it does. LOOK GAY HAIKAVEH.

Cyno would be such a scraggly, crusty creature if it wasnt for the fact he makes the girlypopiest of friends.

His hair is choppily cut but forever silky smooth. Half the time when hes not on duty its braided because collei wants to learn how to braid hair.

A scholar anxious about the general Mahamatra watches him set up camp. He pulls out a bottle of sunscreen, with a note tied to it thats simply labeled "T", if the scholar could flip to the other side, they would find a detailed explanation on the new sunscreen tighnari's concocted.

Everywhere in sumeru or mondstat there is danger that someone might see him and drag him off to "practice makeup on his face". Dehya covers the desert. Kaveh the forest and city, and Lisa, in Mond. Kaveh insists on painting his nails while they're at it too.

Cyno never buys clothes for himself, all his clothes are sent to him with cards attached. Different handwritings, but equally cursive.

His pantries are randomly stocked with mondstat delicacies.

Idc kaveh talks to mehrak after he and alhaitham fight like how people talk to their pets (mehrak is ready to make bomb blueprints for kaveh to bomb haitham with)

as much as i love serious no-nonsense alhaitham, i like to imagine him engaging in silly little mock arguments in different languages with a haravatat or vahumana reader that he (privately) considers one of his dearest friends. he probably spins it as a learning opportunity for both of you ("conversation is a good way to properly grasp the nuances of conversation and the little linguistic gimmicks of a language, after all") but in all honesty? alhaitham enjoys just being able to indulge in what he'd normally consider "pointless" or "childish" behavior with someone he knows won't judge him for it, and will enthusiastically join in when he offers.

(and as a personal plus for him: not only does it give him an outlet for every niche tidbit of history he's accumulated over the years in order to create not only incredibly witty responses that are also factual and accurate to the time period, but also, your company is exactly what he needs after a long day at work. there's no better pick-me-up than hearing you try to hide your snort when he drops a particularly hard line. he's glad you think he's funny. your joy is a wonderful sight to see.)

he treasures the moments where he can sit beside you, trading light jabs and in-character insults at each other in your private corner of lambad's tavern. to alhaitham, it's moments like these that remind him that there's more to life than just his work, his hobbies, and himself.

good food, good drinks, and good company mark the end of most of alhaitham's days, and his heart always leaves the tavern full and content with the promise of seeing you again soon, safe and whole and happy, in the table you've always saved a seat for him at since your days in the akademiya.

(can be read as platonic or romantic! either way, alhaitham cares greatly for you and enjoys the times you can spend together, even when it's mostly spent trading insults in languages both of you have varying levels of mastery in lmao)

no because it's so poignant, the way the greatest minds are never quite stable. like that one bible quote, "for in much wisdom there is much sorrow, and whoever increases knowledge increases grief" and the unbearable heaviness of being that's explored in Zapffe's "The Last Messiah" i love the idea of poets going mad and well-meaning politicians going corrupt and geniuses being isolated in their lofty ideals and wisdom, like nothing is more damning than understanding so deeply that you alone can bear it and perhaps it's even exacerbated in the case of alhaitham and kaveh, both equally brilliant and so intrinsically antithetical that despite their genius, they can never understand the other and in doing so are reminders of their ever-existing grief and loneliness, perched as they are on their respective pedestals but while in alhaitham's objectivity and a near misanthropic apathy he has learned to accept this, kaveh's endless self-doubt and love do not allow him to resign himself to his reality which is why, despite alhaitham being an incredible character in his own right, I am so moved by kaveh and his extremes. i love kaveh so much

Genshin au where everything is the same except Alhaitham is a crystal gem and he gets into a fight and his physical form gets poofed so Kaveh has to look over him until he reforms. (Tighnari had to explain to him that Alhaitham did not die)
