Meet the Artist: @hoot-alex

Hi all! My name is Alex Tomlinson (he/him), and I am an illustrator and designer living in Northeastern Pennsylvania who loves birds! After graduating art school and feeling adrift in the professional design world, I was lucky to get a job at the National Audubon Society, an environmental nonprofit focused on protecting birds and the places they live. While I don’t draw birds for my job, I learn something about them almost every day which inspires me to make art in my free time.

Hc that prince Henry is a huge directioner and when he listened to “Only the Brave” by Louis Tomlinson he cried

It’s been a mad experience, it’s been very good.

[Louis is] a really nice ­fella to be fair, he’s not up himself. He’s a very down-to-earth fella actually, I think he’s really nice. He has loads of tunes as well, he’s done really well for himself.

He’s very talented. I’d love to work with Louis. The level of how supportive his fans are of support bands has been great, there’s a full-blown community and it’s been quite nice to see.

Heyy! I’m gonna introduce myself briefly:

I’m Daniella, 19, from Spain.

I speak Spanish, English and Italian.

I love music, books, movies and TV shows. Some of my favorites:

-Music: Inhaler, Arctic Monkeys, The last shadow puppets, Taylor Swift, Louis Tomlinson, One Direction, U2.

-Books: Hamlet, Little women, Carrie, Requiem for a Spanish peasant, Good omens.

-Movies: One day, Donnie Darko, West side story, Fight club, Catch me if you can, Tick tick boom, Nightcrawler.

-TV shows: Halston, Good omens, Shameless (US version), Friends, Modern family, Gossip girl.

I love autumn and staying home, but I also like to hang out with my friends at coffee shops and going for walks, I love going for walks in the park. 🍂🍂

I’m starting this blog to have some fun, but it doesn’t have a specific purpose. I hope that if you’re anything like me, you’ll feel free to chat!

CHALLENGE: Can I connect Bo Burnham to every comedian in this magazine photoshoot posted by Mike Birbiglia?

Let's see...

Taylor Tomlinson: appeared at a Largo show with Bo (also featured are Pete Holmes, Joe Mande, and Whitmer Thomas)

Jacqueline Novak: appeared at a Largo show with Bo (along with her partner Chris Laker and Anthony Jeselnik). Plus, she hosts a podcast called Poog with Bo's frequent collaborator Kate Berlant!

Ramy Youssef: He and Bo have not collaborated or been pictured together that I know of.

BUT, Ramy is tight with two of Bo's good friends: Jerrod Carmichael (who executive-produced his Hulu show—and they both are in Poor Things) and Chris Storer (who has directed two of his comedy specials). So pretty closely connected!

Jenny Slate: Aside from being a frequent guest on Kroll Show (which Bo appears on as Diz, a British hooligan with songs about the royal family and soccer), Jenny performed with Bo at a Largo show in 2017.

Alex Edelman: Bo was photographed in 2022 after one of Alex's shows with Kate Berlant. Probably taking a break from working on her spectacular one-woman show!

And last but not least Mike Birbiglia: Again, I have no photos of the two, but they have tons of friends in common, and Mike speaks very highly of Bo and Inside.

He also called Bo the "Avatar of Comedy" in his Working It Out podcast episode with Kate Berlant.

So there you have it. Challenge completed! ✌🏼🐔
