“Stop fidgeting ‘Lexie” You sighed in annoyance as your fiancée tossed and turned for what must’ve been the 7th time in that past 20 minutes.
On a usual day, the pair of you would’ve still been at work at 3pm on a Thursday but instead you were both laying in bed, surrounded by crumpled tissues and blankets. Alex had gotten some bug at the start of the week and much to your annoyance had firmly insisted she was fine. Which led her into running herself into the ground to the point she’d almost passed out while on a fairly easy extraction mission with her squad.
That had finally convinced her to slow down a little. You’d called the two of you from work with the intent that you could look after her for the rest of the week. Which would’ve been fine if she hadn’t coughed and spluttered all over you the whole time, leading to you be curled up in bed beside her not even two days later.
“I cant get comfy.” She sniffled in reply - despite several days passing, she still felt awful and as you’d come to found out, Alex was a total baby when she was sick, “That stupid medicine isn’t working.” She grumbled in reference to the medication she’d taken a few minutes prior.
“Honey, you need to be patient.” You sighed, “Come on. Lay your head here, that’s better,”
She seemed to get a little settled after resting her head on your chest, seemingly quietening down as she listened to the rhythmic thumping of your heart, “Being patient sucks. It should work instantly.”
“You know full well it doesn’t work instantly just be pat- Hh-“ You lost track of your thoughts as your breath hitched off, jolting your forwards moments later with several itchy sounding sneezes, causing the girl on your chest to whine at the jostling. “Just wait a little bit, okay? It’ll work soon enough.” You sighed, rubbing the edge of your sleeve under your nose as you sniffled afterwards.
Alex shot you a look but through the filter of her tired, half-closed eyes, the usual effect of her glare was lost, “I hate this.” She pouted, crossing her arms as she stuck out her lower lip.
"I don't want to say I told you so…but-" you muttered with a playful smirk, adjusting the blankets around both of you as you continued, "Maybe next time you'll actually rest when you feel something coming on, you could’ve been feeling better by now."
The agent let out a weak groan, burying her face deeper into your chest, “I hate resting, it’s so boring.”
"Well, you hate being sick too," you teased gently, running your fingers through her hair, "so it's a lose-lose situation I’m afraid Danvers and I think we both know which the better option is.”
Alex let out a soft, congested laugh, "I suppose you have a point." She shifted slightly, wincing as she found a more comfortable position. "Sorry for being such a pain, love. I know you’re still feeling under the weather too."
She sniffled and let her head rest back up on your shoulder as she nestled against you and you found yourself smiling fondly as you ran your hand through her messy hair, "I promise, I won't hold it against you, even if you are the neediest patient ever."

“She became the parent, the lover, the friend you’ve always craved for—- and yet, here you are,”
The truth can sting, just the sharp tip of a knife, flickering at the raw flesh. Poking and prodding till there’s small plots of ichor forming.
“——broken…” Her index finger arched, halting her words, still a vivid memory, “…. but not beyond repair.”
A scoff escapes.
“What is love without hate, I guess.” Unconsciously it spewed from your lips, the vowels felt like acidic vomit. A pregnant silence arose.
That all knowing head tilt, with those observant eyes—- always earned uncomfortable tension within you.
“Love isn’t meant to be confused with hate.”
The cigarette burns slow between your clenched fingers, nursing three fingers deep. Brown liquor swishes against the carved rocks glass, its clear silver grooves twinkles under the gala’s vermilion hues.
Fragments of words compulsively knock against the walls of your brain; as you mull at the gala’s open bar. A scorned woman who just wants peace, and quiet. Lingering stains of hurt that can last a lifetime settles to silence for once in a long time.
Showered an ugly duckling with affections, and built the pillars of security. Growing up in a childhood filled with anxiety and fear of attachments, lingering stains of abuse from the very beings who birthed you into this world.
She cleaned you, bandaged the scars, and assured you that she was the only one who adored you—- persisted that she was the only one who would.
Now, fighting violently in the legal battlefield of divorce, these past weeks have been mentally exhausting —- all whilst handling the burdening responsibilities of your profession.
Your very mind and hands helped craft this sophisticated gallery.
Your boss, Mr. Laufeyson, opened a new exhibit in the National art museum—- Norse history, one of his niche fixations. A man birthed on Norwegian soil, but raised in the monarchal land of England.
An established man who often seeks to explore the rich culture of his ancestors with much sophisticated adoration, and esteem. The Norse exhibit is now the largest section of the institution, with vast collections of rare artifacts protected behind hard stainless glass.
He breathed down your neck for long weeks, you had the task of restoring each piece that had been brought in, nearly breaking your damn back from all the hovering.
A gala bustling with a sea of middle-class folk, and self-proclaimed aristocrats of New York. You sought solace at the open bar, smoking a stogie—- and slipping into the whiskey.
It wasn’t a preferred choice, but it helps give a quick kick to your nerves. Seeking solitude away from pressures to gallant with faux professionalism, and an particular noisy friend, who should be presenting the Norse gods section.
Earlier, she was pestering with a thousand questions flying by the mouth —- if you ever gave thought to rekindling with Carol.
Dissociating into a mindless static, flickering at your clear square nails, as your cigarette burns slowly. At first, the mention of this exhibit with your boss months ago sent you into a frenzy of joy, but now—- it’s a dreadful experience.
All you long for is to start your weekend, to cuddle with your daug—-
“What an incredible scent you have—-”
Oh God, no.
“—- is that Histoires de Parfums, 1969?”
Fuck.
“I haven’t been around that perfume in a long time.”
It’s as if she can smell you a mile away.
A sensual, purring voice whispers near you. A shadowing silhouette eclipses the shimmering ceiling lights from your peripheral vision.
Your lips wrinkle, restraining the foreboding tears of frustration. Tightly nodding, swallowing a sob. Your breathing becomes heavier.
A hum, “It really smells wonderful.” With precision, the shadow sits onto the empty seat beside you.
“Thank you.” A forced smile curls at your mouth.
“With that scent, I’m surprised you’re not being hounded by the men here tonight.” A subtle wordplay, are you looking for anyone tonight?
As if your mind has forgotten all the bad, and reminisces on the good, all the fun, all the beauty that once blossomed.
“It’s not men I'm looking for.” You whisper, snuffing the cigarette into a provided ash-tray. A creamy hand strokes your knuckles, and your skin shivers under your blouse.
A jolt to your groin, and your breath hitches. All she can do is just touch you, and it’s as if you can get on your knees, and forgive her for everything.
“Why?”
You can see that pearly grin, from the corner of your eye, teasing and twisting.
“They’re too easy to hunt?”
You exhale a chuckle, eyes still trained onto the glistening counter.
“They bore me.”
“So—” Her voice lulls as a moan, “—- see anyone worthwhile?” Her fingers curl around your glass, twirling it by the rim. Your lipstick stain faces her direction, and bold as always, she lifts for a sip. Connecting the lip stain to hers, her eyes never leave yours.
It’s not tacky, nor forceful. How she moves is as if it is her nature.
Your eyes gaze over your shoulder, taking a full look. Finally, to drink in the force of nature that is your estranged wife—- Carol.
Her blonde tresses cascade on her shoulders, milky breasts on display. A pristine, black dress, that cuts and splits at the chest hem, polished nails, and clean skin. Her dress halts near her knees.
“Well, I have my eye on a blonde tonight.” You say timidly. Tenderly, your eyes glance fleetingly, a quick trace over Carol’s bodice, nearly losing your composure.
A pregnant pause.
That pretty pink mouth stretches smugly, as if the cat that got the cream. The hooks caught the flesh.
“You like blondes.”
Her tone lingers as an open question, guising the truth.
“Just one in particular.”
Sinking now, the hooks are tugging.
“Really?” Carol leans, her eyes hooded. “Which one?” Pretending to scan her eyes across the ocean of people.
But your eyes remain fixated on her. As if you were a lost puppy, just gazing at its human. Lucidly, influcating between the spaces of yearning, and guilt.
How at ease Carol is, as if nothing was wrong. The charming woman, the woman you thought she was. The woman she wanted you to think she was.
“The one in the black dress.” You say softly, and defeated brown eyes.
Carol’s eyes gaze back at you from the corner of her oculus, downcasting with a mirth, humming a chuckle. “Don’t get too close to that one, she’ll singe your fingertips and have you on your knees.” She shakes her head, an enticing warning.
A dangerous but delicious fruit hanging at your reach. She wants you to take the bait, urging you to—- to get you back in her grasp, and if she does, she won’t let you go.
This game, a cat and mouse play, is all too familiar. Playing as strangers, attracted together by lust, and curiosities—- the type of curiosity to feel the other’s flesh, subtle carnality. Act out, with playful words, pretend to be different people.
It slowly suffocates you, a twang in your chest, a reminder that this isn’t normal.
She isn’t normal.
Carol can be an array of personalities, she can be the doting wife, the whore in bed, the mother—- she can be the bitch with a violent mouth. Different faces for different folk, no one knows her true self, and she’s good at it —- real good.
So, when you tried to seek help from friends, they couldn’t believe it, nor did they want to. You’re not surprised that Carol snuck into the gala—- your co-worker, Maria, who you thought was a true friend —- the matchmaker from hell, let her in, unknowingly allowing the terror onto you.
But, that’s no surprise. Maria has been Carol’s right hand since their days in the Air Force.
None of your friends believe you—- and, it’s hurtful to admit, you’re too scared to speak about all the hurt Carol made you endure over the years.
Barely spoke of the discomfort Carol used against you, and all your shared friends thought you misinterpreted. All saying that Carol is just head-strong, and that you two are perfect together.
Carol feeds the fire with a ‘She’s just going through a tough time.’
Boundaries aren’t respected, everyone trying to push you back together, inviting Carol in social events —- to the point where you didn’t go out anymore, and just drowned in work.
“I like challenges.” Carol softly leans in, her breath fans the bare skin of your shoulder, “All the more fun when I win.” Her voice drops low, to a wispy whisper.
Her body heat engulfs you, and your eyes droop with haziness for a slick second. You can’t—- not again. No matter how intoxicating she can be, how delicious, it’s not worth your peace.
You’re too drunk for this.
“This cat is too tired to entertain.”
“Who said you were the cat?” Carol’s brow arches, halting you in your step. Carol’s infliction hardens, from the corner of your oculus, you can see the clench of her jawline. That pretty mouth morphed into a restrained frown, the same one you see before a punishment.
An offense has been made.
“I didn’t realize the roles were switched.”
The mask slips.
It’s always her way, her rules. Because no matter how clever, how coy the mouse can be, the cat always wins.
“You’re getting brave on me?” Carol asks.
And now the mask has been dropped.
“I think it’s best I leave.” You quickly collect yourself, a bit wobbly from the alcohol. Leaning against the counter to regain your composure, trying to stand upright.
Not this time. You won’t fall for her charm.
Carol sucks her teeth, “You’re seriously going to leave? Aren’t you tired of this childish bullshit?” Crossing her arms against her chest, lips wrinkling into a scowl. Carol talks as if scolding a child.
Your body twists in a haste, “My bullshit?” Your teeth are gritting harshly, hissing. Angry eyes pierce over the hill of your shoulder, fingernails digging into the leather of your purse; if not the leather, her eyes preferrable.
But this is a place of work, no matter how elegant the night is, you will scream if you have to—- just to escape her. You click your tongue, shaking your head in disbelief.
“I mean I’m usually amused by your brattiness,” Carol laughs sarcastically. “But, now it’s gotten too far.” Her fingertips graze your arm, toying with you, soft and playful—— her fingers grasp your arm in a clutch, earning a whine.
Her eyes are hooded, nearly tugging you downwards. A whine bubbles at the pit of your throat, too terrified to even move.
“You have to come back home.” Carol says, a strain to be sweet, but it’s as if a monster tries to be human. “I miss you.” She purrs, but her eyes … are cold, and agitated.
You remain silent, closing your eyes shut, gliding down in your seat. “Carol… have you signed the divorce papers, yet?” Your eyes stay glued to the sticky counter.
Carol chuckles, “You’re going to try to talk business to me, and you can’t even look me in the eye?” Her baby pink polished nails thump against the bar, thump thump thump.
“I don’t want to fight anymore.”
“And neither do I.” She sips her drink, smirking into the cup, “But it seems my wife likes to play games.” So light, so sarcastic, chastising you as if this was a running joke on your end.
“Carol, for fucks sake.” You pinch the bridge of your nose, “You made me go crazy.” You bite on those words, full teeth. Fingers curling into makeshift claws, vowels spilling as acidic vomit.
“Controlled me, like I was your puppet.” Your fingers curl and slither in gesture. “Manipulated me against the world, against our friends.” Your mouth opened again, the words weighing heavy against your mouth, but a hum interrupted.
“Look up at me when you talk.” Carol says, your eyes peer up through your lashes, owlishly. “If you’re going to lie, you might as well make it convincing.” She licks her lips, tasting the remnants of her liquor.
“I —- I—” you can’t find the words to even respond. You stare at her incredulously, she will never admit to it. Even now, she has you questioning your own sanity, if it was even worth fighting against her.
It’s not worth screaming about it. Not anymore.
“I have to go.” Swiftly, you stand up, with a bated breath.
“That’s how you talk to the mother of your child?”
Stiffening, as the hairs that align a cat’s spine, “Don’t you dare!” Your index finger pointing, shouting in a hush. “Stop using Kamala against me—” your voice wavers, throat nearly choking a sob, “You did enough of that in court.” Big brown eyes sheening wet, the last nerve shot.
Trying to maintain a level of calm, eyes fluttering back and forth around, seeing if anyone has witnessed your outburst.
“I don’t even have to do that,” Carol’s open palm gestures to your rigid stance, “she can see perfectly fine how erratic you’ve been.” Carol hisses, making your nose scrunch up.
Kamala adores — idolizes— Carol. So memorized by her strong, willful mother, since she was a waddling baby.
You haven’t dared utter a bad word about Carol in-front of Kamala, fearing to shatter the fragile bubble you curated as a shield for her. You wouldn’t let her witness the court meetings, especially the negotiations of joint custody.
By every fiber of your being, you’ve tried to make this separation as discreet as possible—- but Carol has been a devil, bulldozing those efforts. To make you appear as the bad parent.
You can’t stand her lawyer, Carol hired one who hails from Hell’s Kitchen—- fitting since he’s a thorn upon your rib. Subtlety bringing up your mental health, questioning your abilities as a mother —- no doubt, Carol was chewing his ear off about your past.
All Kamala knows is that her mothers are splitting up, with foreign lawyers, and that she now has to split weekends—- those pained brown eyes, her puffed cheeks, it kills you deeply—- all the guilt weighs on you, it feels as if you’re to blame for all the problems.
“You’ve taken so much from me, Carol.” You lean in, kneeling at her eye level. “My dignity, my peace— shit— even my sanity.” Your body anxiously fidgeting, breath quickening.
“But I will not, let you take my child away from me.” Your fingers dive into your purse, fumbling with irate, snagging the last cash you had—- with the finality of this conversation, slamming the money onto the marble countertop.
You carried Kamala, incubated inside you for nine months, fed her from your breast—- you will not lose her, not over your cold dead body.
“Goodnight, Carol.”
Sharply, you turn on your heel, leaving Carol without turning back. Walking with a gait, faking confidence, but truly at your core, a gnawing sense of uneasiness.
-
The corridor stretches as a miniature maze, the more you descend out of the gala, the less crowded it is. Turning left and right, trying to find the exit.
The ambiance is of grainy gray, the tinted blurred windows are foggy with the night’s shadows.
The echoes of clicking heels are faint, your mind doesn’t register, as your own feet and mind are stuck on auto-pilot.
“There she goes again,” an agitated voice snags your attention, brows furrowing, “always acting like the little victim.”
Not granted the chance to realize, in a flash, just as quick as you turned your head, rough hands grab you by the curve of your shoulders, throttling you against the chilled wall pavement.
Earning a hiss, and a gasp, stinging pain births and stretches along the muscles of your spine. Quickly, your fingers fruitlessly try to claw at Carol’s, but all it does is make her more enraged.
Carol thrashes you once more against the wall, and another for good measure; airy gasps of pain escapes you, tears beading at your lashes. That militant discipline seeps from her pores, it’s not a stranger to you, the rough edges of her touch is a familiar bruise.
“It may have worked with the rest of the world,” Carol barks in your face, nose to nose, “but it’s not going to work with me.”
Sniffling, your chin wobbles, trying to restrain a sob that burns your throat raw.
Carol hums, that tut of a sympathetic mother, “Look at us.” Her thumbs rubbing your shoulders, pressing on the blooming bruises. “I don’t like it when we fight.
Eerily, she influcates from predator to savior, “You always get erratic, and you know it upsets me.” Leaning in, her pink lips press a kiss on a falling tear.
“Where’s my special girl?” Carol whispers. Fear is beating inside of you, buzzing as tv static. Staring at Carol through your hooded lids, terrified, and confused.
Carol purrs, awaiting for an answer.
“I’m here.” Barely a murmur, you speak softly.
Carol thrives off of her aggression. But it’s not the traditional masculinity that some women possess in their personalities. She feels it’s the only gift her father ever gave her.
“It’s very cute that you try to fight me.” Carol mocks, her knuckles stroke your cheek. Carol hums, her eyes tracing over every facial feature.
“Let me see if she missed me.”
A string of no no no slip from you meekly.
One of Carol’s hands graze over your shoulder, twirling her fingers into your hair—- gripping between her fingers tightly. To then cup the nape of your neck, her thumb pressing slightly over your pulse point.
As she has you pinned by the scruff, her other hand flows down your cavlices, to your clothed breast—- she snags the collar to expose skin.
Groping a handful of your tit, she mutters still so soft, traveling down the path of your navel—- with a quick precision, Carol snatches your groin; more like clawing.
A sharp gasp escapes you, and all she does is laugh.
A quick glance at the end of the hallway, praying that nobody turns the corner. Carol snickers. “Afraid someone will catch us?” You exhale a huff, nose flaring.
“I remember you used to be quite adventurous.”
“That’s when I was young and stupid.”
Her eyes narrow, pinching your vagina in her hand even tighter. With her knee, she wedges her thigh between your shaky legs, spreading you more open.
Slithering her hand through the stitched fabric, her knuckles stroking your sensitive skin. Your breathing becomes heavier, and all she does is smirk.
Moving your panties to the side, Carol’s makes herself home to your body. Ashamed to feel yourself grow wet, and Carol moans.
“It seems she missed me.”
All unbridled frustration hits the hilt, you cry in a stretched whine, thrashing in her hold. In need to escape, you wanted to go home, away from her.
All these weeks of trying to flee from her, do the right thing to gain custody, to live a good life, give your daughter stability —- all of it goes down the drain by her simple touch.
Beating on her arms with fists, slapping and trying to knee her in a weak spot. Carol’s eyes darken—- as if she’s bored of the insolence.
Carol pushes her weight onto you, pinning to the wall. And her fingers don’t cease on her assault.
“I hate you.” You choke on a wail, your head tilting up as a child.
“I’ve saved you.” An expert circular motion of her fingertips, sending a jolt to your bundle of nerves.
“Who else can say that?” Carol leans in, her head tilting, as her lips meet your cheek.
Softly, she kisses you, caressing and grazing against the skin of your cheek.
“I took care of you, and you just want to leave?” Carol’s pink tongue slithers between her lips, licking and nibbling. Boldly, her fingers dove between your folds, playing with your wetness.
“You wanted a savior, baby, I’m it.” The bridge of Carol’s nose traces yours, humming at the wet sensation of your tears. “You were nothing before me—-” another finger plunging inside you, “—- and you will be nothing after me.”
“I — I — would rather be alone.” You say with a stammer, lips wet with tears. Mouth curling into a brave scowl, regaining some bravery, “I’ll be fine.”
Carol’s face leans a little back, tilting her head mockingly. “When I say nothing after me, I mean it—-” Carol’s teeth bare as fangs, “you’ll be buried six feet deep, before I let you go.” Her fingers grip the nape of your neck, tugging you in.
“No one can ever have you.” She whispers.
Your eyes are owlish, you don’t doubt her…. her time in the boot camp was extensive, you felt her trained strength many times—- she loves like a knife. Many bruises healed over the years.
Not brutal beatings, but very handsy.
A glimmer of fear suffocates you, your body keels as a leashed dog.
Her fingers slither against your peach fuzz, slipping between your mound, toying with your wetness. Splitting your velvety folds apart, Carol vulgarly strokes you with her fingers sloppily, staining the hem of your panties.
Carol grinds herself onto your thigh, you can feel a wet spot pooling at her silk panties. Your fingers are digging into her forearms. A rough dance of humping and grinding, both reaching for a high.
Your wet walls can’t help but suck her inside, clenching tight. Fiercely plunging in and out—— it’s been some time. Since the last time, you were touched. It’s bordering on painful, a bit tight.
You did entertain another for a while. A woman you met at a bar. Short dark chestnut hair, a soft posh english accent, a bold yet cheeky mouth. She said her name was G’iah, you never met anyone with such a name.
Despite the attraction, the idea of offering yourself physically was too overwhelming. But, the emotional energy was wonderful. It was a breath of fresh air.
You just couldn’t bring yourself to love another.
Skin screaming for touch, yet your heart is trying to fight back. The flesh only reminisces the good, but all the hurtful memories are chained to your mind.
Carol’s mouth ajar, hovering over the meat of your cheek. Your face scrunches, eyes tight, a whine boils at your throat. She breathes a chuckle. She always finds amusement in your misery.
Carol loves to play God—- the Old Testament God. In the carnal sense, and in spite. Worship her, and only need her, obey every command, but commit a sin—- and she shall see to it, that her pettiness will rule over your life.
Her fingers spread, your slick connects to her fingertips, flickering the gossamer thin threads between her expert fingers, diving into you.
Her teeth grazes your cheek, her warm breath cascading against your mouth. Torn between closing your thighs to stop her, or thrust your hips into her hand.
Carol’s tongue slips out, and kitten licks your parted lips. Her pink tongue licks your canines, inhaling your breath. Sweet scent of liquor coats your tongue, Carol suckles into her mouth, moaning at the taste.
A lewd pop comes from Carol pulling back on your tongue, as her fingers curl harsher. Bordering on pain, the pleasure is electric. Pulsing through you, as her thumb toys with your swollen clit.
Her moans are animalistic, you can feel her pussy splitting, a sensation of silk and waxed bare skin. Her clit is grinding fully onto your thigh. It feels so damn good.
A part of you wants her to cum on you. To use you.
Carol’s face tilts away from yours. Her brown eyes swirl with malice, narrowing for a split moment. A smile stretches.
“Kamala would be so hurt to lose her mommy—” Carol’s words earn a mean eye from you, but all she does is laugh humorlessly. “How could you abandon our child?”
Like a stab to your heart, Carol just twists the edge deeper. Her fingers still deep inside you, clenching in need for her to finish— to get you right at the precipice.
“I would never leave Kamala,” you speak with a strain, a rough slice at your throat. “I love her.” Bordering on pleading, your eyes water-sunk.
“Then why do you make her cry?”
“What?”
“Every night she asks why her mom isn’t home,” Carol leans more of her weight on your belly. Her fingers fucking you harshly, hitting that sweet spot so perfectly. Your juices are now soaking down her hand.
“She cries till she falls asleep. She thinks you hate her.”
Torn between rutting your hips into her palm, grinding and fucking her fingers as if it was one of Carol’s toys —- and the need for space, to free yourself from these clutches.
Salty tears fall to your wrinkling lips, shaking from silent tears.
“It doesn’t have to be this way,” Carol says, her voice smooth and affectionate. Her lips pouted, “We can be together again.” Her shiny blonde hair kisses her lashes, in the grainy city lights, she looks innocent.
“Don’t you want to be a family again?”
She pushes her fingers further, slowly playing with your clit— and then stops, edging you. She can feel your spongy walls nearly spasming. Carol knows how to play the strings of your flesh.
Damn her.
“I do.” Your voice gurgles in a sob.
You know she’s tricking you… and you enjoy it.
In some deep seeded—- an absolutely fucked —- part of you, relishes in it. Because it’s all you know. But, it’s that glimmer of tenderness, the kisses, and honeyed words that pulls you back in.
Back to mutilate yourself on her knife over and over again. And isn't that what love is? Carol would say, time and time again, after the dust settles from her fits of rage.
Wet squelching floods your ears, echoing throughout the empty hallway. Your hand trails to her waist, gripping her dress, roughly grazing the smooth skin of her waist.
Legs entangled, and Carol’s thrusts are getting faster, sloppy. Her moans are getting high-pitched, away from primal and more girlish.
You cling to her, in this moment, you just need to feel anything. And you know she needed it too.
A burst of euphoria, hanging onto each other, as if both would fall apart. Carol felt it, how you spasmed on her fingers. Clenching so tight, trapping her hand for a moment.
Bated breaths dance against each other, hair flying by the breeze of huffing. Yours are gasps of relief.
In a desperate plea, you reach for a kiss, but Carol pulls away.
“I hope you learned something …” Carol hisses, her fingers stroking between your slippery folds, agitating your over-stimulated clit. The meat of your thigh quivers, tailbone pinching as you try to mesh into the wall, far from her.
Carol takes her fingers out, leaving behind an empty feeling—- like a void. Without blinking, Carol unabashedly suckles on her two fingers, tasting you.
“I hope you make the right decision.” Carol whispers against her tips. Pulling her warm weight off of your bodice, a chill sweeps against the tepid sense of your belly.
Carol hums for a moment with a stony face. She tugs on the collar of your dress, the top of your bosom exposed —- it was a stiff gesture.
Without a word, Carol posed her spine, and walked away, a snide side-eye.
Leaving you behind with an ache between your thighs, love bites across your chest, and fresh bruises. Left behind in the chilled hallway, and in wrinkled attire —- as if you were a used whore.
Your head falls, crying into your chest. Your fingers pulling your dress down, your inner thighs tender. Your fingertips touch the wet spot Carol left behind near your knee.
A pause.
It’s wrong, but you crave her taste. Suckling your fingertips into the cave of your mouth.
You can still smell her fragrance lingering—- and yet, you crave it, hoping it clung to your dress.
-
Timid footfalls carry you through the high-end residential hallway. Bated breath, and in wrinkled clothes, you lift and loosely drop your luggage in your grip. Pacing back and forth, trying to salvage any scrap of courage to knock.
Your head is bowing down, chin to chest. A stop in-front of the door. The reasoning motivating your surrender blurs—- is it for Kamala only, or is it also that a loyal dog who always forgives?
A silent white flag has been waived.
A lonely dog always comes back.
Dull steps creep closer, syncing with the beat of your heart. One unlock, and another follows. Defeat seeps from your pores, a bone-rattling warning siren echoing in the rush of your ears.
The door knob slowly twists, as if she’s mocking you. But not a second more, the door creaks open. Green eyes blink back with mirth, and a smile.
No words are needed.
Carol hums, stroking your hair, fingers gliding down the terrain of your neck, guiding you inside by the nape of your neck.
-
Awaiting on the bed is a silk nightie, and skincare, curated by Carol’s choice. Pristine, wrinkled-free silk. Not one flaw in sight.
She knew you would come back. A cocky woman, and yet she’s never wrong. A stir of irate coils in your belly, but it’s snuffed before it can disrupt.
-
In the dark, you tip-toe down the hall. Elated and relieved, it felt like a century crept by, but it was only a week of separation.
Weekends weren’t enough. You needed to see her everyday.
Brown fingers slowly grasp at the knob, twisting open. The white walls are adorned by the flash of a night light that glows small stars glimmering against the ceiling.
A room of action figures, anime, music posters and a wall dedicated to her drawings. That familiar scent that never really went away, that baby smell that clung to her as an infant.
Kneeling into her bed, curling under the blanket. Legs curling underneath you, knees bent, as you caress Kamala’s scalp, furling her hair behind the shell of her ear. Your brown fingers melt into the onyx shine of her tresses.
Her sleepy cheeks puffed, she looks like a sleeping cherub. Silently, tears cascade against the hill of your nose, staining the pillow sheet.
For months, you’ve tried to conjure ideas on how to run away from this life with Kamala, but all your ideas end up in the possible reality of being arrested with charges of kidnapping, and never seeing your daughter again.
The truth of the matter is -— you will crawl skin bare in the deepest parts of hell just for her. Suffering silently in these marital ruins, for the sake of being able to raise your only child, is what you will do.
You don’t know what you want with Carol —- you don’t have anything else to offer as a wife, besides submitting your entire being as a sacrificial offering.
It’s all she ever wanted. Wholesome love is seen as a defect in Carol’s eyes, a trait taught to her by her father. Control over everything is what brings her peace. And being cared for is what brings you solace.
The only person in the world Carol doesn’t unleash her wrath upon, who she adores entirely, is Kamala. Never once has Carol raised her voice, nor her hand at Kamala.
It’s disturbing, to see Carol be so genuine in her affections.
But, you’re ever so grateful. Despite being a masochist, under all the rubble harboring in your cavity— is a little girl suffocating for tenderness. For anything, just for someone to hold her.
Carol is a peculiar creature, and yet she has driven you to the brink of madness over the last stretched months, because she can’t bear to lose you —-- that has to mean something, right?
But as you lay here, wallowing in the dead silence, staring at Kamala slumbering —-a thought came to you; a lingering fear. Paranoia gnawing at you, chewing away bit by bit.
You wouldn’t want Kamala to suffer like this one day.

Lovestruck (Lena Luthor x Fem!Danvers!Reader)
@sashawalker2 asked:
I'd like to request this. Fem Reader X Lena Luthor Prompt: “You are my best friend” Idea: Reader is Lena Luthor's best friend. A sweet fluffy fic. Imagine the two going off on holiday and just being very sweet to each other.
Tumblr media
"It's so cute that you're going on vacation with Lena," Alex comments, nudging her sister with a shoulder.
(Y/n) looks up from the new suit she was making for Kara – stitching the new emblem into the fabric.
"Of course, Lena and I do everything together. She's my best friend," (Y/n) replies.
"You're so oblivious," Alex replies, (Y/n) going back to her stitchwork.
"What?" (Y/n) replies, distractedly.
"Oblivious," Alex says.
"About what?" (Y/n) asks, looking up at her sister.
"Lena likes you," Alex says.
"Haha," (Y/n) turns back to her work again. "You're funny Alex, she's just my friend."
. . .
"I'm so glad you've decided to join me on holiday," Lena says, her and (Y/n) settling down on their shared couch in their shared apartment. Lena props her head up with her hand as she gazes at (Y/n), her ginger cat, Apollo, sleeping in her lap.
(Y/n) takes a sip from her glass of water. "It'll be fun," she smiles warmly.
(Y/n)'s puppy, a golden retriever named Cosmo, bounds over to the couch. Both (Y/n) and Cosmo look at Lena, pulling off very similar puppy-dog eyes.
Lena's expression softens as she meets (Y/n)'s gaze. "Fine," Lena finally gives in.
"Up, Cosmo," (Y/n) calls the dog up onto the couch.
Cosmo jumps up onto the couch, lying his head in Lena's lap.
"I still can't believe I let you get a dog in our apartment," Lena strokes Cosmo's ears.
"He's our dog," (Y/n) replies, allowing her head to tilt slightly, something that Lena finds very cute. "And you already had a cat before I even moved in."
"Hey, would you mind –" Lena begins.
"I gotcha," (Y/n) replies. She pats Cosmo's back, and gets off the couch.
This was a common occurrence in the household – Cosmo would beg to be let onto the couch, Lena would complain affectionately about Cosmo wanting to get on the couch, Lena would let Cosmo up, the dog would rest his head on Lena's knee, and then Lena would request a glass of wine.
"Cabernet?" (Y/n) asks and Lena grins slightly.
"You know me so well," Lena replies.
(Y/n) moves to the kitchen, reaches into the wine cabinet, and pulls out a bottle of Cabernet. "This one?" (Y/n) asks, lifting the bottle high enough for Lena to see.
"The other one," Lena replies.
(Y/n) hums grabbing the other bottle and pouring a glass, bringing it over to Lena.
. . .
Soft snores escape (Y/n)'s slightly open mouth.
"So oblivious," Lena mutters, running her fingers through (Y/n)'s hair.
Cosmo lifts his head from his place in (Y/n)'s lap, letting his tongue loll out of his mouth.
"I think you know it too, boy," Lena reaches over and scratches behind the retriever's ears.
. . .
(Y/n) stumbles sleepily down the hall, yawning as she heads towards the coffee maker.
"Already made," Lena appears at (Y/n)'s shoulder holding a mug of coffee, and (Y/n) jumps.
(Y/n) takes the mug from Lena, and sips from the coffee. (Y/n) makes a murmur of contentment, taking another sip of the coffee. "It's perfect," (Y/n) says. "How'd you know –"
"I like you!" Lena blurts out, and (Y/n) stops, her eyes widening.
"What?" (Y/n) asks. "I thought Alex was joking."
"Excuse me," Lena looks confused.
"I was working on Kara's suit, and she said something about you liking me," (Y/n)'s cheeks begin to feel hot. "I thought she was just messing with me."
"I do like you! A lot!" Lena says. "You just never seemed to notice."
There is a silence before Lena looks up at (Y/n), watching her cheeks darken.
"I, uh, like you too," (Y/n) says softly. "And like," she scrambles for the words, "not just in a friend way."
Lena lets out a laugh of relief.
"So," (Y/n) looks up from her mug of coffee. "What do we do now? I've never done this before."
Lena snorts with amusement. "I think we go on our vacation, and have fun. And then we come back and tell our friends."
"Tell them what?" (Y/n) asks cluelessly.
Lena lets out a 'pfft' noise and just shakes her head fondly. "Nothing you should worry your cute little head about," Lena replies. "Now, let's go. We're going to be late."
"Isn't it your private jet?" (Y/n) says.
Lena just holds back her chuckle as Apollo follows her down the hall to her bedroom.

Bond of Steel
Pairing: Reader x Super friends, Alex Danvers x fem!reader (just some "more than friends" tension)
Summary: After Kara has a bad run-in with a super villain, it pulls you off of medical leave to go kick some villain butt, but you both end up learning a valuable lesson.
Tumblr media
********************************************************
"Well if we approach from..." you stood around the table with Alex, Wyn, and Jon talking strategy for how to take down the latest threat to national city, with you still recovering from an injury Kara is by herself.
"Alex?... Y/N?..." you heard a breathy and tired voice call out to you, you could hear the heavy shuffling of feet. Turning you were met with a very beaten and battered Kara, your stomach flipped as you looked her over, she was barely standing in front of you cape torn, suit covered in slashes and blood, dirt covering every inch of her.
"Someone get me a gurney over here... NOW!" you commanded, of course staff scurried at the sound of your voice. You trotted over to Kara, turning into a sprint and dive as she started to fall and you caught her, Alex was on your heels tears threatening to fill her eyes as she overlooked her sister, scratches, cuts, and bruises covered her features. You looked down at her torso pressing your hand over hers to hold pressure on the large gash covering her side, blood seeping through her fingers into your hand, you pulled her closer to your body. Two agents rushed over with a gurney and you picked her up placing her on it, she let out a small groan of pain turning towards Alex as you started to rush her to the med bay.
"Someone page Superman!" you called out before leaving the room, you saw all devices coming into hands as everyone jumped at your command.
"She won, she almost killed me..." she whimpered out, you heard her and you could feel your powers going dark, you could feel it flooding back to you, all the memories of when you were an assassin before they rescued you.
"Hold on Kara just hold on..." you whispered to her.
15 minutes later and she was hooked up to every monitor and had special sun lamps on her allowing her to heal, you stood in the hallway looking through the glass doors. Alex walked up next to you, "Is she going to be okay?"
"She's definitely a fighter, we got a transfusion from her cousin and that should help. I should've been there..." you turned to look into her eyes and she saw the green in your eyes deepen.
"Y/N you just got back from a bad injury, I thought I was going to lose you, and you're almost unbreakable... there was no way for us to know that was going to happen."
"I could've helped, pulled her out early, then she wouldn't be laying here like this." you turned back towards her, watching as her chest rose and fell, it killed you to know that one of the Danvers family was hurting like that.
"Y/N..." Alex said softly, stepping forward to wrap an arm around you, leaning her head into your shoulder.
"Here." you said opening your arms to her, she hugged you tears falling as she hid in your neck, you rubbed a hand on her back soothing her until she pulled away eyes red.
"Let me take you back."
"I don't wanna leave her, and I can't go home..."
"You're no good to her here, let me take you to my place." she looked into your eyes and slowly agreed. the car ride back was fairly quiet, even as you pulled up and went into the house, she went right into your bedroom, you put your jackets away and threw your keys into the bowl on your kitchen island grabbing a bottle of water and making your way upstairs. You found a very tired Alex passed out in your bed, lights still on, she had found pajama pants and one of your old college hoodies in your closet and fallen asleep in them. Little did you know that your scent and the warmth was comforting for her, she felt safe, protected. you crawled in next to her after turning the lights out and felt as she gradually moved closer to you.
In the morning you were up before her and down in your kitchen making coffee, she rounded the corner, hair disheveled and plopped herself at your breakfast bar. there wasn't much talking before you changed, grabbing her a change of clothes, it wasn't the first time she had stayed so you made sure to keep so DEO basic uniform items at your place for emergencies.
When you got to work her first instinct was to be by her sisters side after hearing that she was awake and asking for her, Jon took you aside to give you updates, by the time Alex returned she found that you were suited up and in the field.
"Y-Y/N you idiot get back here..." Alex said over your intercoms.
"Alex, stay out of it."
"No Y/N don't do this she almost killed Kara."
"and that was her one chance she won't get another." you said before gently landing on the top of the building. You saw the other woman across the roof from you her royal purple suit a stark contrast to the grey industrial buildings surrounding you, "Eclipse."
"Ahh there she is Apex the infamous hero that fights side by side with Supergirl, do tell is she still breathing?" She said looking over your form, "she's fine" you growled
"Protective... I'm really gonna hate to do this then." you watched her, pace in front of you, your facial expression serious and unchanging, "you know you're too pretty to die, but doesn't mean I can't damage the great and mighty hero."
"I would like to see you try..."
"Try... darling I keep my word."
"That's what the last one said." you smirked seeing the flame light behind her eyes, "Ugh I hate arrogant heroes, but I can fix that..." she said rushing towards you, you let her hit you at the waist and pushed you off the building, you free fell, you quickly flipped and landed on your feet as she tumbled on the ground next to you, you walked over picking her up, but she landed a punch, causing you to stumble back, that when the fist fight started, punch for punch, catching them but the occasional catching you off guard. You both landed punches threw things, ran up sides of buildings, causing mass destruction, after one particular dodge you pivoted back, hearing the screeching of brakes as cars tried to stop, landing one last hard hit you knocked her back, speeding over to stop a large black SUV that wasn't going to stop in time, you ran around helping out a young expectant mother and walking her out of the way.
"Here, stay here you'll be safe."
"Thank yo-watch out." Before you could turn around to react, you turned enough and suddenly she had her hand around your neck picking you up and flying towards a tall glass building she dropped you sending you sliding through the glass and into the offices.
"Ugh..." you tried moving feeling pain start to set in. Before you could move she came flying back through the building picking you up and flying you through more walls, making back into open sky she dropped you right through a solid statue in the city center, you laid there the dust settling around you, feeling the cuts and bruises on your body, she stood over top you in the broken rubble.
"See I told you, I break heroes like you." she laughed before turning around to walk away, instead of accepting defeat you stood.
"who said you broke me?" you shot back in a whisper, she whipped around seeing you standing there dust still clearing.
"whatever doesn't kill you, eventually will...isn't that how that quote goes." she said teasing you.
"Whatever doesn't kill me better run, cause now I'm pissed." you said flying like a bullet towards her, landing hit after hit not giving her time to react, that was until she laid motionless before you, she was still breathing but you stood up walking over to the DEO team and laying her down, you quickly flew off. You landed on the verge of the DEO compound, stumbling through as the glass closed behind you, Alex rushed to your side as you collapsed.
Next time you opened your eyes, you were met by dimmed hospital lights, you stood and looked around, pulling out your IV and getting dressed. a nurse walked in quickly dropping the ipad she was holding before running back out of the room, moments later you heard rushed footsteps as Alex rushed into the room, "Y/N!" she said wrapping her arms around your neck.
"Hey," you said softly.
"I thought I lost you..."
"you can-..." before you could finish she pulled you into a kiss, at first surprising you but then you leaned into it.
"Alex?" you said sort of confused.
"I'm sorry, just don't ever do that to me again, you might be an idiot and think you're invincible but that just makes you my idiot and I can't lose you." she said not sure about making eye contact.
"Don't apologize, it's about time... sleeping at my house, your own drawer I mean come on, I'm not going anywhere." you said with a chuckle.
“shut up” she said tears filling her eyes, she jabbed softly at your side knowing you still felt some pain.
“hey..” you protested, leaning down to nip softly at her neck.
“hey whoa…” you heard Kara’s voice filling the room, “my sister and best friend, no… no ma’am please…”
“hey Kara.” Alex said laughing, before moving aside so she could hug you.
“hey.” You whispered as she squeezed you tight.
“You’re an idiot.”
“Me? For what?!”
“for going alone…”
“nothing i haven’t told her.” Said Alex.
“yea well I think there was a little more heat when you did it…” Kara poked, “you didn’t have to, you could’ve waited.”
“waited for her to come after you again, no chance in hell… I would give my life for this family, no way anyone will ever break that bond and it’s gonna take a lot more than that to kill me… just next time know that no matter what we fight together.”
“Bond of Steel, unbroken.” She said before hugging you again, “now I wanna know what I interrupted earlier and if it’s gonna result in a wedding and maybe some nieces and nephews?”
“oh God Kara…” Alex started blushing hard.
“haha how about in time…” you said laughing as you corralled them out of the room, “all in time.” You smiled down at Alex who was tucked under your strong arm.

Why?
a/n: I wrote it in thirty minutes to force my ass back into writing, sorry if it feels disturbing and incomplete...
Tumblr media
*not my GIF*
Pairing: Kara Danvers x Fem!reader
Summary: Kara try to understand how you became like this
Type: disturbing? angst
Warning: no power-au, kidnapping, drugged Kara and creepy reader
word count: ~1300
It's from Kara's POV
Why did it seem so real? Why couldn't I get rid of the feeling of her hands on me? She was so perfect, yet she was full of flaws. It was impossible for me to remember why I fell for her. Maybe it was her eyes the first time she looked at me. Maybe it was her voice when she talked to me. Or even her hair (god, I love her hair). And her cute face too. She was full of qualities. At least until this thing started between us.
Everything started like any other relationship. I was mesmerised by her look and her personality, so I decided to ask her out. She gladly accepted, and it was like she had waited for a long time. It was a little weird, but I let it slide.
Then one date became two, then three, and much more. Three months later, we were officially formalising our relationship after we had good sex at her place. She was caring, lovely, and never pushed me more than necessary. So when did everything start to go insane?
Well, actually, I already knew the answer. It was a random Wednesday; we were out for a date, and then we met my friend Lena. That’s when I noticed that she became weird. Her behaviour towards Lena was a little aggressive. I decided not to really question that because I thought that it was just some misplaced jealous act. But then it happened again. Did it really happen more, or did I just start to notice her true self from this moment?
After Lena, she acted weird, even around my family. It was something that my sister, Alex, tried to talk to me about. But at this time, I was too enamoured by her to even notice that her worries were justified. I meant, my mom loved her, and for me, it was enough.
She was making me happy. She treated me like a princess, always caring, making love with pure love in every act, and she put even more affection in the aftercare. It seemed like I was always her priority, but after some months, I started to find it a little weird too.
Of course, I talked to her about how she was slowly babying me and how it started to annoy me, but I still reminded her that I still loved her. For me, it was not a big deal, but it was a discussion that we needed to have. To her, otherwise, it was…heartbreaking? At least that was what she said between her sobs. She cried that day because I told her that I could take care of myself?
I found it weird, and I talked about it with Alex and Lena. They agreed on something: I should start to let her go. Leave her before she took total control of my mind. They seemed to notice how everything would go, but they didn’t want to scare me, I guess. But for me, nothing could go wrong: it was Y/n, the same lovely and caring woman I met that day. Or maybe it was what I said to myself because I was afraid that they might be right.
Despite our conversations, she still acted like usual. Never leaving my side until it was needed. Always trying to take care of me, even if I could do things on my own. She was slowly transforming me into her little doll. After some weeks, she started to choose how I would dress when we had a date, and before it could go too far, I decided to step in.
I remember that we had a huge argument about how she was suffocating me. But like usual, she started to cry. If I wasn't so angry, maybe I would fall for that, but not this day. I grabbed my keys and left with the promise to come back only when she would be more mature and responsible enough to talk like proper adults. That day I drove to Alex’s house, and then I explained everything to her and how it started to be suffocating and scary to live with Y/n. The night I slept in the spare bedroom, even if I was still angry with Y/n, I couldn’t help but miss her. I was still in love after all.
Then a week passed, and she finally texted me, saying that she took some time and that she was finally ready to talk about it. Even if something in me screamed to stay away from her, I still needed to come back to her apartment to at least take some clothes if I had to stay longer at my sister's.
Surprisingly, for me, she seemed to have some stain of tears on her cheeks when she opened the door. She guided me to the couch and brought two cups of tea. I took a sip, and then we both started to talk. But less than five minutes later, I felt myself becoming more and more tired. I called her name just before collapsing on the couch.
Now there I was, somewhere far from home, chained to a bed in a bedroom that I didn’t recognise.
“Oh, finally, you’re awake. I started to think that I put too much drug in your cup.” There she was, with a creepy smile on her face. It was the first time that I saw her like that. “I know you should have a lot of questions right now, and I will answer them, but before that…” She climbed in her bed next to me and immediately cuddled with my body as if her life depended; she inhaled my scent and left a sloppy kiss on my neck. “I missed that. I missed you.”
I tried to scream, but I noticed that any attempt was shut off by a cloth she put in my mouth. “Oh, sorry, I almost forgot that.” She said before freeing my mouth.
“Get out of me you psycho bitch!” I yelled while trying to get rid of the bed. She just ignored me and kept her face pressed against my chest. “Y/n, I don’t know what type of shit you’re doing right now, but you need to back off and let me go.”
“Why? So you can leave me again?” She snapped for the first time since I knew her. “Sorry to yell, but you need to understand that I can’t let you go, Kara. I love you, and I know you do too. You’re just getting corrupted by your sister and Lena. But it’s okay; these bitches will not be able to mess with you anymore. It’s just you and me against the world.” Her sweet tone made shivers run through my entire body.
“What do you mean, Y/n?” I asked.
She raised her head and looked at me with a wide smile. “They will never find us; I mean, we left the country a few days from now.”
“What do you mean, Y/n? Where are we?” I asked, more panicked.
“Greece. I told you that my dad had a house here, and he was more than happy to let us live there from now.” From her facial expression, it was not a lie, which meant that I couldn’t go back home? No, it’s impossible. I had a whole life back in the US.
Seeing the tears running down on my cheeks, a wide smile appeared on her face. “It’s okay, Kara. I’m here, and I will not leave you.” I wanted to throw up, scream, and maybe punch her, but I couldn't do anything about that. I couldn’t stop crying.
“I know that the change can be weird at first, but it’s okay, I will help you with that. I will never leave your side.” She pressed her lips against my cheeks.
Why everything was happening to me? Why did it have to be me? She was so lovely, and so caring, I started to dream about a future with her. Why did she need to ruin everything?

Healing Hearts - Kara Danvers x fem!reader
Tumblr media
[summary: where reader is a new doctor who works at the DEO and is a huge fan of supergirl, unknown to the reader, kara has a crush on the reader and finds her really beautiful and cool. They soon become friends and kara hangs out with the reader in the med bay and keeps her company while she's not out saving the world. kara tells reader her true identity and later shyly asks reader to go out with her, reader finds kara's behavior really cute and amusing and says yes.]
Masterlist
{Part 1} {Part 2}
The DEO was a place of extraordinary individuals, each with their own unique abilities and contributions to the mission. Dr. (Y/n) (L/n) was the latest addition to the team, a brilliant physician with a heart as big as her drive to make the world a better place. With a warm smile and an enthusiastic spirit, she quickly found herself embracing the responsibilities of the medical bay.
On a particularly eventful day, Dr. (Y/n) was tending to Agent Alex Danvers, who had just returned from a tough mission. They had formed a bond over shared laughter and friendly conversations, but one topic never failed to come up—Supergirl. Dr. (Y/n) was a huge fan of the superhero, gushing about her heroic acts, her strength, and her unwavering dedication to the city.
"Come on, (Y/n)," Alex teased as Dr. (Y/n) chattered excitedly while treating her minor injuries. "You can't deny that you have a little crush on Supergirl."
Dr. (Y/n) blushed furiously, her cheeks turning a shade of pink that matched her doctor's coat. "N-No, Agent Danvers! I just… admire her. She's amazing."
Alex chuckled, clearly enjoying the reaction she was getting. "Sure, sure. Just remember, I've got my eye on you."
As days turned into weeks, Dr. (Y/n) continued her work at the DEO, always ready to patch up agents after intense missions. Her dedication and compassion didn't go unnoticed, and her interactions with Alex only grew stronger. Yet, despite her friendly demeanor, Dr. Y/n remained blissfully unaware of the deeper secrets that the DEO held.
One fateful day, a mission went awry, leaving Supergirl injured and exhausted. She had pushed herself beyond her limits, using up almost all of her solar energy in a daring rescue. The wounds were minor, but her energy was depleted, leaving her weakened and in need of medical attention.
As they returned to the DEO, Dr. (Y/n)'s eyes widened with a mix of excitement and concern when she saw Supergirl being brought in. Without hesitation, she took charge, guiding the hero to the med bay.
"Wow, I never thought I'd get to treat Supergirl," she muttered to herself as she worked, her hands deftly tending to the superhero's wounds.
Supergirl observed the doctor, her lips quirking into a small smile. She had seen Dr. (Y/n)'s interactions with Alex, how her eyes would light up whenever Supergirl's name was mentioned. It was endearing, and Supergirl couldn't help but find the doctor's enthusiasm contagious.
As Dr. (Y/n) worked, she felt a presence behind her. Turning, she found Supergirl watching her with a gentle smile.
"You're doing a great job, Doctor," Supergirl said softly, her voice warm and reassuring.
Dr. (Y/n)'s heart skipped a beat as she met those blue eyes, the realization hitting her that she was treating her idol—Supergirl herself.
"Th-thank you, Supergirl," she stammered, her cheeks flushing as she continued her work.
Supergirl's injuries were minor, but the energy depletion had taken a toll on her. As (Y/n) finished her treatment, Supergirl's hand brushed against hers, sending a jolt of electricity through her veins. Their eyes met, and (Y/n) saw a mixture of gratitude and something else—an unspoken connection.
In the days that followed, (Y/n) and Supergirl's paths continued to cross. Supergirl found herself hanging around the medical bay, keeping the doctor company and engaging in light-hearted conversations. (Y/n)'s excitement was infectious, and Supergirl found herself opening up more than she had with anyone else.
One evening, as the sun set and bathed the DEO in warm hues, Supergirl found herself alone with Dr. (Y/n) in the medical bay. The silence was comfortable, the air charged with unspoken emotions.
"(Y/n)," Supergirl began, her voice slightly nervous. "I have something to tell you."
(Y/n) looked up from her paperwork, curiosity evident in her eyes. "What is it, Supergirl?"
Supergirl took a deep breath, her heart racing. "I'm not just Supergirl. My name is Kara Danvers. I wanted you to know who I really am."
(Y/n) blinked in surprise, her mind racing to process the revelation. "You're Kara Danvers?"
Kara nodded, her gaze never leaving (Y/n)'s. "I trust you, (Y/n). And... I really enjoy spending time with you."
A blush painted (Y/n)'s cheeks as she met Kara's gaze, her heart fluttering with a mixture of shock and delight. "I can't believe this. And I... I enjoy spending time with you too."
Kara's smile was radiant, her eyes holding a depth of emotion that spoke volumes. "(Y/n), would you… um, like to go out with me? Maybe for coffee or something?"
(Y/n)'s lips curved into a grin as she observed Kara's shy demeanor. It was both endearing and amusing to see the confident Supergirl acting like this.
"I'd love to, Kara."
The relief that crossed Kara's face was palpable, and she chuckled softly. "You have no idea how nervous I was."

╚════════ ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ ════════╝
Winter had always been Alex’s favourite season. The crisp, cool air and the occasional pile of unmeted snow that covered the curbs somehow always made her feel calm. She loved it all. However, there were inconveniences to the wintertime, namely slippery roads, frigid hands, and most prominently, sickness.
The flu had been sweeping its way through the DEO - it was bound too this time of year. With so many agents working in such close contact it was almost impossible to avoid. Not matter their rank or importance, it eventually made its way round the squad’s and not even the Director herself was spared.
Alex stood woozily in the control area, her hand clutching a crumpled-up tissue as she leant over the main desk, her other clumsily rubbing at her temple. She looked awful. Your soft hand came to slide round her waist from behind and the exhausted woman sank into your touch.
She coughed into her tissue, “Don’t come too close, you don’t want to catch this.” Alex warned through her croaking voice, yet she made no effort to move away.
“I’ll take that risk. You weren’t sick this morning, what happened?” You mumbled worriedly, burying your head into her neck, prompting her to rest her head against yours.
“The flu is characterised by a rapid on-set of symptoms. It’s been spreading like wildfire around here, you know that.” Alex whispered before her voice broke off into a hitch.
You felt her body tense up, and you quickly reached for a nearby tissue box, pulling out a fresh one and handing it to her just in time. Alex sneezed loudly, and you could tell she was trying her best to suppress it, but her body couldn't hold it back any longer.
“Bless you!” Kara called out as she came flying into the building (she’d just finished assisting the fire department with an accident downtown)
“And again, my my, bless you love.” You repeated her sister’s words, gently rubbing Alex's back as she sneezed for the second time. Her body felt warm against your touch, and you knew she was hopelessly fighting a fever.
"Thanks," Alex rasped weakly, her voice flooded with congestion as she pulled out of your hold to grab some tissues to blow her rapidly reddening nose.
"It's chaos here. I can't just stop working because I have the sniffles," Alex replied with a weak smile, trying to maintain her composure despite feeling so unwell. She knew her responsibilities at the DEO were crucial, after all, without her there to manage and dispatch agents who would keep things running smoothly?
She was stubborn, that was sure. It took another hour of misery before Alex reluctantly gave in and gave shuffling into the room where you were training some new recruits.
“Alright guys, that’s enough for today.” You dismissed the group, letting them leave the room before opening your arms and letting the feverish woman fold into them, “Your breathing sounds awful y’know.” You sighed, at the small raspy breathes coming from the woman in your hold.
“I’ve been told.” She muttered, keeping herself close to you, sniffling against your shoulder.
You shook your head lightly, “We should get you laying down. Come on.”
She continued to sniffle and sneeze as you gently guided her towards the infirmary. Her steps were slow and unsteady as the two of you made your way. Though you practically had to carry her up the stairs the two of you finally got her there, being met at the door by Kara and Lena.
“I called her,” Kara explained as Alex curled herself onto one of the medical beds.
Lena approached with a concerned expression, placing a hand on Alex's forehead before scanning a thermometer along her brow. "39 degrees, you're burning up, Alex. You should’ve rested when you first felt this coming on.” She said softly, glancing at you with gratitude for bringing Alex to the infirmary.
Kara hovered nearby, her super hearing detecting Alex's irregular breathing and rapid heartbeat. "I'll grab some water and a cool cloth," she suggested, zipping away and returning quickly with the items.
You stayed by Alex's side, gently wiping her forehead with the cool cloth as Kara handed her a glass of water. "Try to drink a little, love. It might help with the fever," you encouraged, giving her a reassuring smile as she held your hand, rubbing her thumb over your own.
Alex took a few sips, but it was evident that she was struggling to keep herself composed. "I... I hate being so out of commission," she admitted weakly, her eyes showing a mix of frustration and vulnerability.
Lena spoke softly, her caring tone trying to comfort her friend, “You need rest to recover properly. I’ve seen how hard you work yourself here, nobody’s going to forget that if you take a few days to look after yourself for a change.”
Kara nodded in agreement, sitting by Alex's side. "We'll take care of the DEO for now. You just focus on getting better," she said, giving you an affirming nod.
With concern etched on your face, you gently squeezed Alex's hand. "They're right, Alex. The DEO will be okay, and we'll handle things while you rest. You need to prioritize your health now."
Alex's tired eyes softened as she looked at you, appreciating the support from her friends and you. "Okay," she finally relented, realizing that she couldn't keep pushing herself like this. "But promise me you'll keep me updated on everything?"
"We promise," Lena replied, speaking for both her and Kara. "You can count on us."
Kara placed a reassuring hand on Alex's shoulder. "And I'll keep checking in on you, Lena’s gonna write you a prescription for some Tamiflu, I’ll pick it up and drop it off for you tonight.
With that said, you helped the shivering Director from the bed, letting her lean fully against you as you led her from the building. Where a DEO issued car was already waiting to pick you both up.
During the ride, Alex gave into her exhaustion and fell asleep against your shoulder. You held her close, running your hand through her silky hair. By the time you’d reached her studio, Alex was completely passed out. Nothing short of a city-wide invasion would be waking her now.
Carrying her up to her room, you made sure to tuck her safely into bed, gently pulling off her uniform and changing her into some softer, more comfortable clothes before climbing into the open space beside her, smiling as even in her sleep she snuggled up beside you.
“Sleep well baby.” You whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her head, “and you will be definitely taking a sick day tomorrow, Director Danvers.”

Slacker
Intro: Hello, lovelies!! I hope you guys are having a good day/night!! This was requested by an anon, hope you enjoy, bby!! :)
Note: Not much to note, angst with some fluff
Word Count: 1107
Ahhh, I’m terribly indecisive... Ok, so how about R just started working at the D.E.O. but is super ultra MEGA shy. Alex assumes her quietness is R slacking off and not paying attention, but it’s quite the opposite. R tries her best to impress Alex, but can’t seem to do it. So R goes out on a mission with A in a last ditch effort to impress her. But R isn’t a field agent, and really doesn’t like violence so it doesn’t go well, maybe someone is about to kill R but Alex shoots them and R is just stunned and terrified. When A asks if R is ok R just says “I’ve never seen anyone die before”. Maybe R says something about not liking violence and Alex asks R why R went out in the field then. R confesses feelings(?) But still is skittish after the mission. Maybe some Alex hugs and/or cuddles???
Tumblr media
You had just started working at the D.E.O a few weeks ago, you had been trying and failing those said weeks to impress Alex Danvers, who you will admit that you had a crush on, for some reason, no matter what you did or tried, it wouldn’t work or someone else would get the credit for it and you wouldn’t say anything due to being afraid to speak up for yourself, which is why that you were determined that this upcoming mission would be the day that you finally proved yourself to her, but you honestly should’ve known better.
While you were heading to the locker room to change so you could work out, you stopped when you heard Alex talking to someone else that you couldn’t place a name to “I just feel like tomorrow is going to go terrible, she slacks off all the time and doesn’t say anything really to anyone” you heard Alex say, making you bite your lip as you looked down at your feet “I feel like you’re rushing to conclusions, she just started, Alex” the other voice said, sounding almost scolding “I don’t know, if you ask me, she hasn’t done anything” after you heard her say that, you turned on your heel and left, not feeling as up to working out anymore.
The next morning, you quietly got ready with Alex before you guys hopped onto the plane “You ready?” Alex asked, looking at you and noticing how you avoided her eye contact “Yup” you said simply before slinging your bag over your shoulder and storming out of the room, causing Alex to raise an eyebrow but follow you anyways, once you both got onto the plane, you sat on the opposite side of the plane from Alex which caused her to raise an eyebrow since you always tended to sit either next to her or close to her and she couldn’t help but feel disappointed in the fact you weren’t today, but she didn’t say anything and just settled in the awkward silence between the two of you.
When you guys got there, you followed Alex like she told you and you followed her orders until you both somehow managed to get separated “Y/N? Where are you?” You heard Alex ask in the comms, you taking a moment to look around to gather your surroundings “South hallway” you said simply, you still upset with what she had said so you weren’t going to explain “Y/N, that’s not enough” Alex said, sounding frustrated as she continued walking, hoping that somehow she’d find you again “Oh I’m sorry, was that too slacking?” You asked before you could stop yourself, wincing after you said it since you didn’t mean for it to slip out “Y/N-“ Alex said, you tuning her out as soon as you heard a gun cock behind you and you slowly turned around with your arms up, freezing as you saw the guy that was holding the gun.
You wanted to say something, do something, anything but you couldn’t get yourself to move, you were frozen in place as you watched the guy rest his finger on the trigger, you weren’t a field agent, what were you thinking coming here in the first place? Oh yeah, you wanted to impress Alex, great plan Y/N, great plan. You closed your eyes, waiting for the shot to ring out, your eyes flying open when you heard the gunshot but it wasn’t from his gun, he was on the ground, dead in front of you and you were frozen in place as you stared at the now dead body, you had never seen someone killed before, you didn’t know how to react.
“Y/N? Hey, snap out of it” Alex said, rushing over to you and waving a hand in front of your face, grabbing your arm and feeling you flinch “Hey, it’s okay” she said, realizing you were in shock and stepping more in front of you so you only saw her and not the dead body, gently rubbing your inner wrist with her thumb to try to relax you, waiting until you seemed to finally realize she was in front of you “Are you okay?” Alex asked, gently touching your cheek to keep your eyes on her I… I’ve never seen a person die before” you said softly, letting yourself finally move your arms and legs.
Alex raised an eyebrow when you admitted that and glanced around to make sure no one was coming from anywhere “We’ll talk about this after we finish, okay? Just stick with me” she said, both feeling guilty for now knowing that you had overheard her discussion with someone else and feeling disappointed in herself for losing you in the first place, none of this would’ve happened if she hadn’t of let you get lost.
Once you two were back on the jet, she had you sit down and then kneeled down in front of you “I don’t like violence” you admitted, looking at her and making her raise an eyebrow “Then why did you agree to come on this mission? You knew there was a chance of this happening” she said, a slight hint of anger in her voice since she didn’t understand why you willingly put yourself through this “Because I like you and I wanted to impress you… I’ve been trying since the second day I was here, but it kept going wrong then I overheard what you said and-“ you said, starting to tear up and getting cut off by Alex engulfing you into a hug “I’m so sorry you overheard me… I was wrong, so damn wrong” she admitted softly, getting up just enough so she could sit beside you.
She pulled you into her side and pressed a kiss to your head “I said all that because I just thought that you didn’t try… That your quietness was just you slacking off, but I was so wrong about that, today proved that… Even though you almost got shot, you pulled through and finished the mission and for that I’m proud of you” she said, looking at you and feeling you slightly shaking “I’m still freaked out by it all” you said softly, glancing up at her and see her nod “I know, that’s why I’m here, I’m always going to be here” she promised, that being her way of telling you she liked you as well which made you smile and cuddle further into her side, and even though you were still a bit freaked out, you knew that you had Alex to help you get through it all.

It’s More than Just Dumplings Pt. 3
Part 1  Part 2
________________________________________________________________
“It is not a gang, it is a clan symbol of one of the most powerful and ancient clans of all of Pandora. They are known as the Kodachi. And this a problem you should not take lightly. Especially for you, Supergirl.” A woman said that has caused everyone at the DEO to take out their guns as they were prepared to fire.
“Shiori?!” You say as you were bewildered at how she had escaped the Hōzuki Castle. Or formerly known as the Blood Prison.
“Everyone stand down! Do not engage! Do. Not. Engage!” J’onn yelled as he knew what would happen if he were to let all the Deo agents engaged with the unknown alien.
As the mysterious woman continued to pace around you and ask the very same questions that are going on in your mind, Alex immediately begins to question your connection to the imminent threat as she holds her fire. By looking at you then to the mysterious woman who had mysteriously shown up.
[Evil Laugh] "What's the matter Carci? Cat got your tongue? Or, is it (y/n) now?" She says maliciously. At the same time, as you try to remain calm, you find it harder and harder to resist the temptation to give into anger and abandon the teachings of your ancestors. For you to not only control your powers but, to keep you from giving away your alien identity. Although you have never felt this much power that is driven by hatred in someone whom you've once had a bond within the past, you can't help but not know what to do. Suddenly, before you know it, everything had stopped. As if she had gained the ability to stop time leaving the two of you be the only ones aware of what is going on. No one, not even the DEO agents around you can't see or hear what's currently going on between the both of you as they cannot move or defy her perception of time that has not passed.
"Ah, that is better. Now, where were we? Oh, that's right; you are going to stop me, defeat me, and throw in one of those useless cells you humans are so proud of having. Oh wait- you can't can you. You're just one of their lackeys that they can order around."
"Well, at least I'm not some narcissistic psychopath that feeds off of power hungry idiots all day while looking for some poor girl to fuck."
"You have all the power in the world, and yet, you chose to leave your royal life for this. Well, that's no fun. Heh, I'm not surprised. You were always the responsible one after all. Someone like you could have easily gone out of their way to break the rules by having them bend to your every will like you were destined to be Heda. And even have your own royal life just like you wanted. Instead, you've decided to be a goody two shoes like your mother." She spluttered. On the other hand, you did not let her words get to as you abide by your former Heda's teachings just as you were taught. That's if she had not let things get back to normal before she disappears again.
"I have never had a mother who cared or loved me. Nor am I as power hungry as you are. So tell me, Satori, what is it that you want. More souls to fill your Box of Paradise."
"Ah, Carci, should not know me by now? After all, we were soulmates. Or at least I thought we were." She says looking at Alex as she sees the bond that is starting to form on Alex's arm through her DEO uniform. *For Pandorians, the bond is a mark that forms on a Pandorian's potential partner (significant other) through a secure emotional connection to them. Then once a Pandorian has a partner and the bond fully solidifies on their partner, their emotions and feelings are shared between both of them whether they are apart or together even when one is in trouble. But as a Pandorian chooses to end that relationship with that partner, that bond will fray away by starting to turn into a severe cut then end with it being a scar on their body. As for humans, it's the same process but, there won't be any scars as it heals.*
"You leave her and her family out of this."
"Oh? She actually cares for these humans. But are not forgetting something? What was it again, something about love being a weakness."
Tumblr media
"Cut the chit-chat and lets on with it."
"Sounds like someone's getting impatient. This is going to be fun."
Then in a blink of an eye, the time had resumed startling everybody of what just happened. Just then, Shiori had applied this vast amount of force that threw everyone and including you through the walls and outside falling to their deaths. You, however, reacted quickly and employed your shadow clones along with your gravity switch saving everyone. But even so, it did not stop there. As you have tried to make contact with your former soulmate in an attempt of defeating her, the next thing you knew you were held captive and proceeded by being punched in the stomach with enormous strength.
You were left to not only fall onto the main lobby floor that left a massive dent underneath you, but it also caused you to spit out some blood in the process. Not only that, you were thankful that you hadn't been thrown into another room. Let alone even being alive.
Alex: "(Y/n)!" Then before J'onn could give the order, Alex began to shoot at the so-called Shiori mindlessly without even knowing what she is capable of doing — and not even thinking that the very thing she is doing can get her killed in less a minute. Much less than a minor injury. You, on the other hand, lay on the floor with you being severely weak and unable to get up.
"Alex! Don't-" you managed to say before you passed out even though it was too late. Contrarily, as she attempted to hit Shiori, her efforts failed as Shiori disappeared out sight and suddenly reappear behind her to throw her up through the glass walls that led to her lab on the second floor; knocking her unconscious with various other injuries that could be fatal. Soon enough, the rest of the DEO agents will quickly follow. Not even Supergirl can lay a single scratch.
[Du-thump. Du-thump]
"Promise me you'll live for you. Not as Heda."
"But I did it to protect you."
"You cannot protect me forever. It's your life Carci, not theirs."
"I -"
"Promise me."
Then at that moment, you regained consciousness and punched Shiori with extreme strength throwing her through the walls of three rooms, leaving everyone in wonder at how you have finally managed to hit the mysterious woman — making it seem like you were on a massive rampage. As your eyes have changed into your Dōjutsu form, Yome Ketsuryūgan, Ri and Kai had shown up. But even so, your efforts seemed to have failed as soon as Kai had used the chakra enhancing tool on Shiori. Here, made Shiori gain enormous amounts of chakra — making you rethink if he's the one who taught you how to fight and how to use your powers.
Tumblr media
"Is it me or am I experiencing some major Déjà vu." You said frustratingly.
Ri: "Ugh, don’t get me started; it's a long story."
As Shiori had taken those chakras pills she had obtained by Kai's chakra enhancing tool earlier, the three of you did not waste any more time and focused on taking down Shiori.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the DEO agents, on the other hand, were left not knowing where to put themselves as the three of you just left to fight the mysterious woman called Shiori. Not to mention how you did not take the fight outside. But other agents thought otherwise as the fight would cause harm to other people outside. For J’onn, thinks the best course of action would be gathering up all the agents that had been injured and admit them to med bay while the others stay on guard in case fight extends far beyond anywhere else in the DEO. Not to mention the major financial costs in replacing everything that has been broken and giving J'onn all kinds of stress when thinking about it.

Agent Danvers - Chapter 6
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
I was going to post this tomorrow, but I decided just to post it today!
Enjoy what nonsense I put in here . . .
I love y’all!
Tumblr media
Kara kneels over a man’s body in her Supergirl suit.
“I called her, sir,” Alex tells Hank. “We hunt aliens. She is one. It’s a resource we didn’t have before.” Kara looks around, smiling slightly up at her sister.
“What can I do to help?” Kara rises to her feet.
“Don’t cause any oil spills,” Hank says.
Harsh, Kara thinks.
“Take a look around. Don’t touch anything,” Alex tells her younger sister.
“Alex,” Hank says and the two take a few steps away, “this whole facility specializes in chemical manufacturing. Sodium hypochlorite, ammonium nitrate.
“Ingredients for a chemical bomb?” Alex questions.
“Yeah,” Hank replies. “We need to find this alien, fast.”
. . .
There is a knock on (Y/n)’s front door from a pair of concerned sisters.
“You think she’s okay?” Kara asks, her eyes wide with worry. “She’s been mentioning for the last few days that she’s felt sick.”
“I hope she’s okay,” Alex replies. She, once again, sees the image of her baby sister crying over her redheaded girlfriend’s unconscious body and pain rips at Alex Danvers’s heart.
. . .
Loud knocking wakes (Y/n) from her place on the couch, still feeling nauseous. As (Y/n) stumbles sleepily to the door, Liho meows, looking annoyed - and sleepy.
(Y/n) opens her door, her gaze softening.
“Lena! Come in,” (Y/n) opens her door, letting Yelena Belova.
(Y/n) gives Yelena a hug, her eyes softening with a sisterly affection.
Liho toddles over on little legs, letting out a soft mew.
“Hi,” Yelena crouches down, petting the cat on the head.
(Y/n) sits back down on the couch, trying to quell her nausea.
Yelena studies (Y/n) for a moment, but then shrugs, sitting down.
. . .
(Y/n)’s leans back in her seat at her desk at CatCo, furrowing her eyebrows. The ache in her lower back had been frustrating her for the last hour and a half, yet she had no time to get up and try to relieve her pain.
The firewall she was trying to build had frustrated her even further.
Kara walks over to her sister’s desk, sitting down on the edge of the desk. “Are you okay?” Kara asks, her eyebrows furrowing with concern.
“My back is killing me,” (Y/n) grumbles, pressing her hand to the small of her back. “The firewall isn’t helping either.”
(Y/n)’s fellow IT walks over. Winn leans over (Y/n)’s shoulder, typing in a few commands.
“Thanks Winn,” (Y/n) smiles slightly, glad that her friend helped.
“Maybe you should go home,” Kara says, looking concerned.
“Maybe I will,” (Y/n) says, swallowing down her sudden surge of nausea.
Cat Grant walks out of her office, glancing between Kara and (Y/n). Her expression softens uncharacteristically. “Why don’t you both have the rest of the day off?”
Kara glances, her eyes widening slightly, up at her boss.
“Go on,” Cat says.
“Yes, Miss Grant,” both Danvers sisters say.
Kara helps (Y/n) pack up her laptop and all her other work equipment before heading back to her own apartment.
“I’ll go get Liho,” Kara says, knowing the kitten was the source of (Y/n)’s happiness.
(Y/n) grabs a blanket as Kara leaves the apartment from the window.
(Y/n) had fallen asleep by the time Kara had returned, and Kara grows more concerned.
Liho lets out a soft mew, kneading the couch before lying down. She sniffs at the fabric of the blanket that had bunched up around (Y/n)’s stomach, but seems content and Liho closes her eyes.
“I hope you feel better soon,” Kara murmurs, running her fingers through her sister’s hair.
. . .
Eight-and-a-half months later, (Y/n) finds herself on a bus with Jo’on and Alex.
“Remain seated,” a police woman steps onto the bus, and (Y/n) rests a hand on her stomach.
Jo’on had disguised himself as a little boy, and Alex had dawned a blonde wig.
(Y/n), who had just gone with Jo’on and Alex to go visit her mother, relaxes slightly in her seat.
“We’re on the lookout for a pair of fugitives,” the police woman says, “wanted in connection to some very serious crimes. They are considered to be extremely dangerous.”
Jo’on rests his little blonde head against Alex’s shoulder, wrapping his little arms around her waist.
Alex wraps an arm around Jo’on’s shoulders in a motherly fashion.
The police woman passes past the three before turning around and getting off the bus.
. . .
Night had fallen by the time (Y/n), Alex, and Jo’on arrive at their old house in Midvale.
“Hi,” Eliza Danvers wraps her youngest daughter in a hug, being careful of (Y/n)’s baby bump.
(Y/n)’s expression softens. “Hi, Mom. I brought a few friends,” (Y/n) continues.
Alex and Jo’on come into view, and Eliza hugs her eldest daughter tightly. “Are you alright?” Eliza asks, resting her hands on Alex’s forearms. “What is going on?”
“Well . . .” Alex pauses, trying to collect her thoughts.
“And who’s this?” Eliza goes on.
Jo’on shifts back into himself, and Eliza takes a step back. “What the hell?”
“No, no, no, Mom. It’s okay,” (Y/n) rests a gentle hand on her mother’s arm.
“No, whatever that is, that killed your father!” Eliza replies, meeting (Y/n)’s gaze with wild eyes.
“No,” (Y/n) shakes her head.
“The real Hank Henshaw blackmailed Dad into joining the DEO,” Alex says, throwing off her blonde wig.
“Jo’on tried to save Dad,” (Y/n) says, sitting down in the nearest armchair. “He’s a shape-shifter from Mars.”
“Is it true?” Eliza Danvers asks.
“What’s true is that your husband was one of the best people I’ve ever known,” Jo’on replies. “He saved my life.”
“And Jo’on has saved mine and Kara’s,” Alex adds. “You can trust him. Mom, we don’t have much time,” Alex goes on. “Jo’on and I are on the run. We just stopped by to supply up.”
(Y/n) furrows her brows, leaning back a little in the chair.
“Wait. ‘On the run?’” Eliza asks. “How did the three of you even get out of the city?”
“What?” (Y/n) asks, her head tilting slightly.
“You don’t know what’s happening in National City?” Eliza questions. The two Danvers sister shake their heads, frowning.
“Then their’s something you have to see,” Eliza replies, her expression grim.
. . .
Eliza finds Jo’on in the living room, looking down at a family photo - the three sister with Jeramiah and Eliza standing behind them.
“It’s a nice photograph,” Jo’on tells Eliza. “Beautiful family.” His gaze falls on a picture with (Y/n), possibly sixteen, with a redhead, who also looked about sixteen. He goes to ask about it, but Eliza interjects.
“We were,” Eliza says. “So Alex and (Y/n) say that Jeramiah saved your life. Were you with him?” she questions. “Were you with him at the end?”
“His only thoughts were for you and the girls,” Jo’on replies. “I made him a promise that I would look after all of you; I’ve been trying to keep that promise every day since.
Eliza nods her understanding. “Thank you. So Mars . . .” Eliza sits down on the automan. “I have to ask, underneath it all, are you a little green man?”
(Y/n) walks into the room, her eyes twinkling with mischief. She sits down beside her mother.

Kara Danvers x Reader #5
Words: 1,905
Tumblr media
Warnings: Angst, Explosion not described in detail. Just an aftermath.
Notes:
MWHAHAHA! I technically didn’t listen to your plead...so i’m sorry? (Thank you for the request and sorry for all spelling mistakes)
——
They were kids.
You weren’t bulletproof like Kara, definitely not grenade proof, you knew that...but they were kids. Kids clutching onto their mom looking terrified. Terrified that their mom would get hurt, terrified that the three of them were going to die.
You’re terrified too. Lately as your life has gotten better with Kara, beautiful, caring Kara, you’ve been getting more scared everyday, scared that something was going to happen to ruin your happiness.
The fear is almost enough to paralyze you when you see the latest National City supervillain get ready to throw the grenade, but alas...when the man throws the grenade the stupid instinct to protect overtakes you and you jump into the air to catch it like a ball, before it can get to close to the family.
You’re more invincible than them, even if you’re not nearly as invincible as Kara...it’s time to test that theory, you think bitterly.
Turns out—when the grenade goes off and a piercing scream hits the air—you’re not that much more invincible than a regular human.
Kara, you think, tears running down your face, Kara, Kara, Kara. Kara. Everything hurts but all you can think about is Kara and whether or not she’s going to be okay fighting without you. Forever, possibly. Fighting without you forever, and just thinking about your death feels like ice water being poured over you until the cold sinks in and it’s just panic.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
It takes moments before she’s by your side, moments that feel like a lifetime, she was slowed by the kryptonite she was fighting against and wasn’t able to get to you in time when the grenade went off but now she’s here, and she’s sobbing. Sobs that wrack her body, and you’re trying to sit up despite the ringing in your ear.
“Kara!” You yell, eyes wide, and you don’t want to be doing this to her, you want to pretend like you’re okay with this—you want to be strong for her—but you can’t. You can’t, because holy fuck. Fuck. “I can’t feel my legs, Kara. Baby, I can’t feel anything. I can’t...why can’t I move?”
Kara places a hand on your chest, and you can feel that, it hurts, “Alex,” she says into the comms, “it’s Y/N...she’s badly injured. I can’t bring her to the DEO, I can’t fly; the kryptonite is still in the air around us, and I can’t move her away from it either.”
You hear Kara’s panicked voice next to you, and when you focus you hear it in your own comms.
Alex’s voice crackles through immediately, and even she sounds scared, “how bad, Kara?”
“She says she can’t feel her legs, and she...she’s losing a lot of blood. She’s cold, too, and her breathing is labored,” Kara’s practically ranting now, her fingers shaking against your chest. “I’d put pressure on the wound but there’s a lot of blood and I don’t know—”
You turn your face away from Kara when her hand travels to your cheek, and you try to tune her out, because her face...it really says everything about your condition, and you don’t want to hear Kara talk about all of the ways you’re dying.
You catch the last thing Alex says and it fills you with dread that makes your bones feel even heavier, “keep her awake, Kara. There’s no telling if she’ll wake up again if she falls asleep now.”
Kara’s resulting sob rips your heart to shreds.
“I didn’t realize until I met you how much I don’t want to die,” you tell her after a moment filled with her cries. You’ve never felt so scared in your life (besides after Kara’s fight with Reign) “but I really don’t want to, Kara. I really don’t want to.”
“You won’t,” Kara says, trying to give you a reassuring smile, “you won’t because I need you to stay. What am I supposed to do without you?” She tries to laugh afterwards but it’s really just a choked sound, and you can hear the fear in her words.
The iron taste that was on your tongue felt like death, but now as you slowly start to taste it less, and as the smell of gasoline slowly slips away, you wonder if this is really a sign of death. The reapers signature.
“You’ll live.” You say, “you have to. There’s no other choice.” Your voice is filled with too much certainty for a dying woman, “It’ll be fine. You’ll get to eat the last popsicle in the fridge,” a humorless chuckle forces its way out of your throat, “I hid it. It’s under the frozen peas.”
You can tell by the look on Kara’s face what she’s thinking about. A half empty bed when she goes home alone to your shared apartment, your favorite mug sitting on the counter half full of cold coffee, your dishes still in her sink—your sink—your clothes in the washing machine, your…
“I can’t,” Kara whispers, her voice filled with the amount of sorrow only she can manage, “I can’t lose two of my worlds. I’m not strong enough.”
Kara Zor-El not being strong enough. It’s a humorous thought. You know Kara will fight, she’ll fight because it’s all she knows. She’ll find her reason. She won’t give up on the world, even if she gives up on herself for some time. It’s the one thing you need to be sure of right now.
“Yeah you are,” you mumble, trying to lift your shaky hand to cup her cheek. She grabs a hold of your hand and helps you to your destination. You try not to scream curses at the world at the sight of your blood on her pale cheek. “You, Kara Danvers, are an anomaly in the way you never let anything knock you down.”
“This is enough,” Kara promises, and it’s the last promise you’d ever want to hear from her, “you’re enough to ruin me.”
“Kara,” you whisper, hating the world so furiously in that moment for all it wants to take. “That’s the last thing I want to hear...I only ever want to build you up.”
“And you do,” Kara says, “but love really does both, doesn’t it? Sometimes it hurts as much as it heals.”
“That isn’t fair,” you whimper out, and Kara nods against your hand, closing her eyes and trying not to breathe in the smell of your blood.
Moments later Kara opens her eyes in a panic after realizing that you haven’t spoken, only to see you trying to blink your eyes awake. She squeezes your hand repeatedly, trying to get your attention. “Y/N, it’s not time.” She tells you desperately, “it’s not time.”
One of her tears fall against your cheek, causing you to pout. “Stop crying,” you slur, delirious from the blood loss, “I resent it when you cry because of me.”
Kara shakes her head, only crying harder.
You smile up at her sadly, “I'm sorry i’m dying.” And you mean it.
“Stop saying that,” Kara pleads, like it’s breaking her, “stop.”
You wish you could give Kara what she wants but your eyelids are getting heavier and heavier and you don’t think you have much time. “Just tell Alex to name a kid after me, or at least tell her to name a fish after me.”
Kara’s shaking her head and shaking your arm, trying to get you to open your eyes again, “Y/N! Hey! Stop, come on, baby, just open your eyes…”
You try, you really do, you’ve never tried so hard to listen before, and it works for a moment, just for a second you manage to open your eyes, much to Kara’s relief, and that’s when you finally notice a crowd of people and a slumped alien (the man you two were fighting) a little ways behind you and Kara. When did Kara do that to him? When did the people come?
It’s when you see Alex though, rushing out of a black van, that you feel some sort of relief. Alex will protect Kara when you’re gone. You’re sure of it.
“Wake up! Wake up,” Kara sobs, “Alex, Alex—please, she’s not—”
“She died, Kara, in the van, we managed to bring her back...but things are looking uncertain right now. For now, the best thing you can do is look after yourself”
Kara’s glowing red eyes snap up from the floor towards Alex. Her powers have been going haywire since they arrived at the DEO. “Save her,” Kara pleads, voice hoarse from crying. “Please.”
It’s late at night after Kara hears your heart stop (the second time) that she gets placed in kryptonite handcuffs.
Alex doesn’t want to do it but Kara isn’t in control of her powers anymore, and she almost seriously hurt someone. Multiple times.
Kara doesn’t leave your side after they get your heart going again, she can’t hear your heart with the kryptonite on so the only thing she can take comfort in is the beeping of your heart monitor.
You wake up two weeks after your accident.
Kara’s asleep next to you when you do.
You’re confused and thirsty so it takes you several long moments for you to remember what happened, and once you do you’re sobbing hard, crying loud enough to startle awake a sleeping Kara.
She freezes when she sees you, you’re curled up in the hospital bed and shaking with your relief and the leftover fear, and she’s watching you like she doesn’t know what to do now that you’re awake.
She’s been praying for this moment, imagining it, waiting for it day after day, minute after minute, second after second, but now that it’s actually happened she’s paralyzed with her overwhelming emotions.
“Y/N?” Kara stutters, eyes filling with her own tears of relief.
You laugh at Kara’s face, loud and completely joyful, and suddenly she’s sobbing too, grinning all the while, because you’re here—finally— you’re gonna be okay. You’re gonna be okay, and you’re laughing, and the world is finally okay again too.
“Damn, weren’t we dramatic?” You smirk, paying no mind to the tears running down your or her face.
Kara laughs, pulling you into a careful hug (she got her handcuffs taken off only a day ago). “I missed you.”
“I missed you, too,” you whisper back, tightening your hold on Kara as much as you can and simply breathing her in. Breathing life in.
“I feel like i’m dreaming,” Kara says after a while, voice trembling. You feel like you're dead...and like you're in heaven. Is this heaven?
“You aren’t,” you reassure Kara anyways.
She nods against your shoulder, shaking even harder than you were. “Are you okay?” You ask worriedly.
“you’re the one who had to go and die two times.”
“Nearly three times,” Alex says from the doorway.
You notice Kara tense and shift in front of you until she realizes it’s just Alex, and you think that’ll probably be something you two will have to talk about, but for now you roll your eyes at Alex and say, much to both Kara’s and her amusement; “the only reason you tried so hard to save me is because you didn’t want to name your kid after me, isn’t it?”
Alex’s shrug and “maybe” gets a glare from Kara and a smirk from you.
