Tumblr media
Authors note: One of my oldest requests (October 29, 2019) and I'm only now getting around to posting it. I'm sorry to whoever asked for this, I don't know why I ignored this request for so long and why it's been in my finished stories for over a year.

Alex and Kara were two siblings who had fought every battle together and they had always thought that they could protect you from every harm and depth of the world's darkness. But on that fateful evening everything, unbeknownst to them, would be turned to dust as they stood in National City Park waiting for Non to show up and make a deal that would bring peace between the two forces.
"I still don't think it was a good idea at all to show up here alone, Kara," the redhead thundered between her breaths, her gun already unholstered and ready to fire. She knew it wasn't a good idea to be here but she wanted to finally put an end to Non's evil activities. "We should have told J'onn."
"Maybe not just him, but me too?" they suddenly heard a familiar voice behind them. Their heads quickly turned back and looked at your face in shock, disbelieving that you had followed them. "What the hell are you doing here?"
You had joined the DEO a few months ago to combat the threats of aliens and especially other Kryptonians who wanted to hurt your sister. Everything had gone well so far, your training as an agent had been successfully completed, but they were afraid that you would be injured and so they didn't take you on larger missions that posed a higher risk of injury.
Like now.
A stronger gust of wind mixed with swirling dust had you stumbling back a few steps, shielding your eyes from the fine particles in the air. Seconds later, when the surroundings had calmed down, the three of you managed to look up. A little further above you in the air, Non looked down at you, his cold eyes sparkling with malice. "Ah, Y/n... nice that you're here too. That's quite fitting," he remarked with a malicious grin playing on his lips. "I think you'll do an excellent job of illustrating my new demonstration."
A frightening shadow crossed Kara and Alex's faces as Non flew between the two of them at the speed of light and lifted you into the air in a single, quick movement. Your desperate cries shattered the night's silence as you fought desperately against the iron grip on your neck, but it was hopeless. With each passing moment he rose meter by meter higher as the surroundings and your siblings slowly became a distant speck.
Alex and Kara stared in shock at the horrific sight that was unfolding before their eyes. “Y/n!!!” Alex shouted in panic, but her shouts were swallowed up by the wind piercing through your ears. She didn't know what to do, she couldn't shoot. The risk of hitting you and causing life-threatening injuries was far too high. "Now, my dear niece, you can see how powerless you are," Non mocked. His eyes sparkled with darkness as he ignored the desperate gasp from you to free yourself and instead gripped tighter.
"Non! Let go of my sister!" The blonde shouted with a mix of anger and desperation in her voice. Her gaze was fixed on you as she looked at her uncle challengingly. The person you spoke to laughed scornfully and looked at you one last time, with no remorse in his eyes. "Well, whatever you want, Supergirl."
Without warning, he let go of you and your horrified screams filled the air as you fell uncontrollably. Kara clenched her fists in anger and determination. She knew she had to do something to save you, even if it meant revealing her own identity. In a moment of urgency, she took off in a daring leap, flying upward at incredible speed. The cold of the night sky hit her face, but the heat that entered her queasy stomach made her fly higher to save you.
The blonde accelerated her flight power, her superpowers feeling stronger than she had ever experienced before, and she reached it just in time to catch you before you hit the ground. She approached you with impressive speed and caught you in her arms. She held herself tightly in her arms, felt your body trembling and saw the fear in your eyes as you clung to her tightly. Kara knew she had to act quickly and get you downstairs. "It's all good, sweetheart. I'll get you back to the ground, just hold on tight."
When they finally arrived safely on the ground, both siblings were overcome with a wave of relief. You were saved, but the fight against Non was far from over. "Don't you dare try to harm her again!" she hissed in a dangerously low tone. and looked with a challenging look at Alex, who was holding you tightly in her arms out of worry and fear for your life. She nodded encouragingly at her and let her fly back into the sky to prepare for the upcoming duel with Non.
Meanwhile, Alex stayed back on the floor with you as you leaned against her, exhausted, sinking into her embrace. The traumatic event echoed in your mind, your breathing shallow as physical and emotional exhaustion overwhelmed you.
The redhead, recognizing the tension in your features, took your hand and squeezed it gently. "It's all good, I'm here with you," she whispered reassuringly to you, but you flinched in her arms, an even violent tremble overcoming you. Your eyes widened in panic and you felt your stomach clench spasmodically as a wave of nausea washed over you. "Hey, what's up?"
Alex was worried when she noticed the sudden change. You tried to answer, but your voice failed miserably. The words got stuck in your throat as your complexion paled. Panic rose in the eldest. "It's all good, you hear?" she hugged you tightly, trying to calm you down from the shock, but the symptoms intensified.
The world began to spin around you, the sounds became muffled, and you felt your body give way. Your sister continued to hold you tightly, trying to keep you close, but the strength suddenly left you and your body collapsed into hers.

Outside of superhero emergencies, Kara didn’t tend to lean into her super hearing where she could avoid it. Girl’s night at her apartment, for example, definitely shouldn’t have called for it. Then again, she wasn’t usually the subject of discussion in just about every apartment block on her street.
So, maybe that wasn’t completely true. She’d certainly heard her name mentioned a lot more since the whole secret identity reveal thing; it was just, nowadays, instead of hearing Supergirl, it was usually Kara Zor-El.
She was used to it. She’d been used to it for years; her name was normally a hot topic days, if not weeks after a major save was broadcast. The only difference now was… not all of those voices were as positive as she’d come to expect.
Like right now, for instance. No matter how hard she tried to shut it out, she couldn’t help but listen for that same voice echoing from hundreds of homes across the city, streaming from earbuds, speakers and laptops alike. His voice was charismatic and quick, like a less polished Maxwell Lord, and while he may have been a nobody just a few weeks ago, he’d certainly gained enough traction now to give Kara one hell of a headache.
Unfortunately for her, she’d inadvertently tuned herself in at just the right time for her downstairs neighbour to hit play:
“Alright folks, if you missed our last episode I’ll catch you up to speed. Last week, we rounded off at the crux of the Supergirl Problem; that she hasn’t just been living in our midst this whole time, but that she’s been actively working as a journalist for CatCo Worldwide Media. And, just a few weeks ago, she was publicly put in charge of the editorial process for that same media outlet minutes after she came clean about her alter-ego to the world. And, as I doubt Supergirl will want to speak for herself on the matter, we have one of her self-proclaimed super-fans in the house today to speak on her behalf. Say it with me at home folks, debate me, Supergirl!”
The aforementioned ‘super-fan’ let out a surprised scoff at her introduction. She didn’t waste a minute of her airtime, jumping immediately into the conversation: “Well, for starters, I think you’re taking this whole thing out of context. Supergirl didn’t just become a journalist for CatCo overnight. If you knew anything about Kara’s story, you’d know that she worked her way up the food chain for years! I mean, how empowering is that? She started as a PA!”
“Yeah, a PA with superspeed, how difficult. No wonder she ended up in Cat Grant’s palm! And yes, I do know her origin story, thank you very much.” The host’s voice crackled as Kara imagined him relaxing into his microphone. “Let the audience not forget that she was a PA for Cat Grant before she became a journalist. Are we really going to pretend that wasn’t her foot in the door?”
“Cat Grant wasn’t even her boss when she got into journalism,” argued the young woman. “And by the time Kara made a name for herself, Cat wasn’t even leading the company anymore! She got to where she is now on her own merit, no one elses!”
The host spoke over her: “It begs the question, did Cat Grant know this whole time? She takes a sabbatical only to re-emerge just in time to offer Supergirl a promotion. On top of that, she’s been promoting Supergirl for years! She created her – her words, on record. And now she’s put her in charge of media distribution. Get this: Supergirl is now in charge of the media we consume. Isn’t that a little self-indulgent?”
The young woman didn’t back down. “Kara Danvers was a Pultizer winning journalist long before we found out who she really was,” she argued. “She’s been standing for truth and justice just as much as Supergirl has. In fact, she’s just as much a hero as—”
“But what’s the agenda here?” the host continued with a conspiratorial air. “How can we even believe the news now it’s being headed by a liar? And she did, didn’t she? She lied to us all! She had a secret identity this whole time, and what? We’re just supposed to accept that? What’s the bet that this story will make a headline at CatCo magazine tomorrow morning, with my comments made out as Supergirl’s latest villain story? Or, better yet, will I be Kara Danver’s first official nemesis?” He barked out a laugh into his microphone. “There’s no freedom of the press anymore, folks, not when CatCo is bias towards the very hero that made it so popular in the first place!”
Before she could hear any more, Kara was thrown from her super-eavesdropping rather unceremoniously when a hand shot out in front of her face, waving impatiently.
“Earth to Kara,” Alex said, snapping her fingers in front of her sister’s nose. “Hey, anyone home?”
“Huh?” Kara said before screwing her eyes shut, swatting away Alex’s offending hand. “Hey, hey, stop that!”
It was only then that she realised that it wasn’t just Alex who had been trying to get her attention. Lena and Kelly were staring at her from the opposite sofa. Nia sat cross legged on the footstool by the coffee table, nursing her drink with an expectant expression.
Kara glanced lamely at the TV. It didn’t look like anyone had been paying attention to the movie for quite some time.
Just how long had she been…?
Kara tried not to cringe.
Kelly cleared her throat, smoothing her hands over her lap. “From your expression, I’m guessing you were listening in on something pretty important.” She hesitated. “Is everything okay?”
Kara’s eyes widened. “What? Oh, oh no, it’s not a superhero emergency, I swear. Girl’s night continues uninterrupted, I promise!”
“Okay,” Nia said with a slow smile. “Then what was with the—” She mimicked Kara’s spaced-out expression a little too well, earning a few grins at her expense.
Kara pursed her lips. “Uh—I mean. It was nothing. Just…” She sagged in on herself awkwardly. “Okay, so I may have been listening to this podcast…”
“Oof.” Alex winced. “You don’t wanna do that.”
Kara groaned, falling back against the sofa. “I’ve been trying not to, but it’s kinda hard when half of my building’s listening to it.” She rubbed aggressively at her ears. “Super hearing can really suck, you guys.”
“Wait,” Nia said, perking up. “Are you talking about the Debate Me, Supergirl podcast?” When everyone turned to stare at her, she shrugged. “What? Brainy’s been keeping tabs on all social channels for this stuff ever since your interview first went public, y’know, calculating the odds on them picking up any real traction. In case things go… south.”
“And what are the odds on this guy?” Alex asked seriously.
Nia made a vague gesture. “I mean, until a few days ago, Brainy had him in the unlikely category. But his latest interview with a Supergirl stan got a whole lot of attention on social media. They were basically at each other’s throats the entire time.” She took a mild sip of her drink. “People ate it up.”
Alex rolled her eyes. “Of course they did. And I’m guessing from your tone, not much of the audience were on this super – uh – stan’s side?”
Nia pulled a face, taking an even larger swig.
Kara groaned again, burying her face in her hands. “This is awful. I- I just can’t believe how little faith they have in me now that they know the truth!”
Lena smiled her sympathy. “Take it from someone who was once deluded enough to fall right into that same category of hatefully ignorant.” She toasted her scotch glass to no one in particular, swirling its contents with a gentle twist of her wrist. “It’s not easy for people to accept that their larger-than-life hero was living amongst them.”
Kara’s head shot up in protest. “I never wanted anyone to put me on a pedestal.”
“Want has nothing to do about it. Like it or not, they did.” Lena paused, tucking her legs into the sofa’s arm. She fixed Kara with a level look. “Kara, I say this as your friend, but you have to understand how powerful you are in the eyes of a regular citizen. You fly, you shoot laser beams from your eyes, you’re bullet proof and fire proof. Your power is limitless and even though this city has seen you fall, they’ve also seen you get back up time and time again.”
Kara bit her lip. “That part I can understand, but it’s not just that. This podcaster isn’t only targeting my Supergirl persona. It’s Kara Danvers, Kara Zor-El that they don’t trust.” She snorted, throwing her hands wide. “They think the fact that I’m working as CatCo’s Editor-in-Chief makes the whole platform inherently bias. And – yes – I know I’ve fought my own biases in the past, and it’s not like being impartial was what won me a Pulitzer, but to them— a superhero in the press just doesn’t appeal. They think I’m a fraud, that I’ve been manipulating public opinion.” Kara could feel her face begin to flush in frustration. She ran a hand through her hair, standing just to put her energy somewhere. She slammed a fist against her palm, taking a step around the coffee table with every beat. “But, I mean, don’t they remember how CatCo turned on Supergirl after the Red Kryptonite incident? And rightfully, too. I lost the people’s trust then, and now—now it’s happening all over again and I just… I don’t know how to win them back,” she laughed through her teeth, “or if I can win them back!”
Alex took Kara’s arm swiftly as she passed her by, tugging her to her side. “Hey, no one said this was gonna be easy.”
“I think those were Cat’s exact words, actually,” Nia said helpfully, pointing in Alex’s direction.
Kara huffed, anchored by her sister’s steadying hand. “Yeah? Well, they didn’t say it would be this difficult, either.”
“Don’t listen to a few angry voices,” Nia insisted, her voice sobering. “They aren’t worth your energy, trust me.”
“Are they just a few?” Kara asked grimly. If she tried hard enough, she was sure she could still tune into hundreds of versions of that same podcast playing from across the city. Whether they agreed with him or not, the people of National City and beyond were listening to this nameless podcaster, and that was dangerous enough on its own.
Nia smiled tightly, balling her knuckles against her lap. “Just don’t listen to them, okay?” She closed her eyes. “Look, people like to make a lot of noise when they feel like they’ve been lied to, but the truth is, they were never entitled to that information to begin with. When I did my Dreamer interview with you, a lot of people were so supportive; some of them even saw themselves in me, but there were always hateful voices that tried to drown out the positive ones.” She straightened her back, opening her eyes. “But, y’know, they make that much noise because they know they’re in the minority, and they do not have the power that they think. Putting it into perspective like that… it’s a lot easier to ignore them, especially when I know how many people I’ve helped by sharing my story.”
“You’re right,” Kara said softly. Because she was. Of course she was. A single podcast spouting a single negative view didn’t diminish everything good that had come out of Supergirl’s identity reveal. Yes, the celebrity-level thing took some getting used to and openly flying to work made her something of a spectacle when it came to the office situation, but for the most part, Kara was relieved to have that weight off her shoulders, and it was a joy to know just how many aliens felt more confident to live as themselves now that they knew Supergirl had also shared their struggle.
In truth, the world knowing where she had come from, who she had been ever since she’d landed on Earth, grounded her to the people in a way that had never struck quite the same as just Supergirl. And that was worth any amount of growing pains.
Kara reached out for Nia’s hand over the coffee table, squeezing tight. “Thank you.”
Nia’s smile softened. “Any time.”
Lena cleared her throat, shifting higher against her pillow. “And, as for your job,” she said with a sly smile of her own, “let’s just say I know a thing or two about the public coming for your throat, deeming you unworthy of the position you’ve fairly worked your way up to. It’s just like Nia said, you ignore it, Kara. You ignore it because you have nothing to prove to anyone, you’re already doing one hell of a job as a journalist. Remain honest with yourself, and eventually people will see it. Not everyone of course.” She tilted her head, raising her glass to her lips. “You’ll never have everyone’s approval. If you did, well, I’d say you were on another planet, because that’s certainly not how the human race are wired.”
“I’ll drink to that,” Nia chimed in, leaning up to clink her glass with Lena’s. She caught Kelly’s glass on her way back.
Kelly smiled fondly, though there was a strained edge to her expression when she said, “We’ve all had to work twice as hard to prove ourselves. And as much as it hurts, that extends to Supergirl as well.”
Kara sat back down with a sigh, leaning into the embrace that Alex readily offered her. “Cat once told me the same thing; right after she’d first claimed Supergirl, actually.”
“Exactly,” Alex said with a sage nod. She kissed her sister’s hair. “And, hey, Cat Grant won’t let a podcast beat down her creation. Hell, her empire is built on powerful women, it always has been, always will.” She gestured to everyone in the room. “You are all prime examples of that.”
Kara nudged her sister playfully, pushing out of her arms. “Hey, well, the amount of times the DEO has personally kept that building from crashing to the ground, I’d say you’re an honorary member of Cat’s empire, too.”
Alex’s nose crinkled. “I think I prefer the title of badass DEO leader, but I’ll take it.” She grinned, rolling her eyes. “The point is, you have us, Kara.”
“Yeah.” Nia beamed. “And our opinion is worth a million times more than some crappy podcast.”
“Oh, cheers to that, too!” Alex laughed and they all converged with their glasses, meeting with a raucous clash over the coffee table.
Cheers rang out all ‘round, and Kara let the simple joy of that moment infect her. Their combined laughter easily blotted out any chances of hearing another word from that podcaster’s mouth.
She'd lost the taste for eavesdropping, anyway.

A Different Kind of Attack - Danvers Sisters (Supergirl)
request: Hi, I was wondering if i could please get a supergirl oneshot where the reader is the youngest danvers sister, and she has asthma and has a really bad asthma attck while training with kara? - anon
a/n: these are from my old tumblr thefandomwritings from back in 2018 ! re-vamped and re-purposed!! hope u enjoy and forgive the 2018 me style writing and also v short
Tumblr media
"Y/N!" Alex shouted, "You've got to move faster." She stood at the side of the room, watching you and Kara spar - getting out all of your sibling rivalry. The classic bet had taken place of ‘who can win in a fight’ - you know, typical Danvers sisters nights in together.
You grunted out a response, "That's easier said than done, Alex." You gritted your teeth and went for another punch towards Kara, jabbing harder with your left fist. Kara only just managed to dodge, her powers having been reduced in order to make it a fair(er) fight.
As the punches you were throwing at your older sister sped up so did your breathing. You could feel the sweat dripping down you collarbone but you still pushed on, proving that you were more than capable.
"Okay, call it off guys." Alex stepped in, forcing the two of your apart, "Kara, you're form is off and you're losing energy quick. You can't rely on your superpowers..." You zoned out as Alex addressed Kara, taking the time to criticize her stance before she came to you.
As the adrenaline from the fight wore off you put your hands on your knees, bending over as you tried to get your breath back. Having to breath rapidly was something you were used to in your intense exercise sessions but it wasn't usually this bad. You straightened up again, putting a hand on your chest - it was feeling too tight and you still couldn't slow down your breathing. That alone made you start to panic and your wheezing just seemed to increase.
You were vaguely aware of one of your sisters placing a hand on your shoulder and so you looked up to see Kara and you attempted to say that you were fine, that you just needed a moment, "Kara, I- f, fi- Do-"
You just couldn't get your words out, making Kara visibly freak slightly. "Alex? What-"
Alex just gently sat by your side, biting her lip lightly, "I think it's a... she just needs to- Y/N? I need you to stay calm for me." She spoke half to you and half to Kara, not quite sure who to calm first as things escalated.
"Alex!?"
"Kara, it's fine. She's going to be fine. Just stay calm." She directed to both of you, but now focused on you completely.
"But what-?"
"It's an asthma attack." She took your hand to support your weight before you could collapse or fall, she squeezed it lightly before looking at you more closely, "You haven't had one this bad in a while." You stumbled backwards slightly, making Alex take a sharp breath in. She kept your hands interlinked and put her other hand on your back, supporting you. "Y/N, I'm just going to sit you down." Alex lowered you to the ground and put your back against the wall, keeping your torso straight.
"Alex, her lips are going blue-"
Alex just nodded and stayed by your side, motioning for Kara to join the two of you, "Kara, I'm going to go get her a hot coffee or tea or something. I need you to stay with her, just keep talking and keep her breathing and calm. It's going to be fine, honestly." She reassured herself more than anything this time. "Is that okay?" She asked but Kara was entirely focused on you, only sparing enough broken focus to mumble out a response.
"Yeah, I- of course." Alex nodded and left, whilst Kara kept her soft gaze glued on you. The pain in your chest and the tension in your shoulders was beginning to decrease ever so slightly but it felt like you still couldn't get a full breath in, even if you wanted to.
You dropped your head slightly, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over you as you gained more and more control over your body and your breathing.
"Hey, little sis." She nudged your shoulder slightly, "How are you doing?"
"I'm oka- Yo-"
She smiled and put her hand up to silence you, nodding, "Okay, that was a stupid question, sorry! Apparently you humans have to breath regularly to survive so you should probably do that a bit now."
You wheezed out a breathy laugh and went to respond but chose to just shake your head at her instead.
"Bad time for a joke?" She asked, her smile only broadening. You just gave her a sarcastic pointed look, "Okay, fair." You both fell into a comfortable silence as Kara helped you fall into breathing at a more regular pace. After a while, Kara cheerily patted your knee, "Hey, see, you're doing great. Keep breathing, in and out."
You and Kara continued on like this for who knows how long before Alex made it back with some steaming hot chocolate. You smiled and wrapped your (still shaking) hands around the hot drink, gripping it enough to not spill any.
The three of you just sat for a while, not wanting to trigger any further asthma attacks, and allowing you to slowly regain normal colour to your face. You knew you were almost fully recovered when your stomach started to growl (Kara had been starving for a while now but she didn't want to leave your little bubble of chatter, these were her favourite moments). Alex insisted on going out to grab sandwiches, whilst you two stayed put.
Eventually you turned to Kara and snorted slightly, gaining her attention, "You know, you're surprisingly bad at keeping people calm in a bad situation. Like, for a superhero..." You trailed off, sending your sister a cheeky grin.
"What?! I was great!" She gasped, putting a hand to her chest in mock shock.
"Oh, sure! I couldn't breath and you were having your own freak out in the corner! Alex had to calm you down first." You criticised, knowing that you could joke about it now.
"Okay, that's true. You know I like to be dramatic." She blushed slightly and shrugged before turning slightly more serious and wrapping her arms around your shoulder, "I was just worried you know? You're my favourite little sister, I don't want to see you hurt. Ever."
You smiled, feeling a spreading warmth in your chest at that (in a good, healthy, definitely just love and not another asthma attack way). "I'm your o-"
"-Only little sister." She interrupted and finished for you, "I know, I know. Doesn't mean you can't be my favourite."
"Then you are my favourite Kryptonian older sister."
"Thank you." She kissed your temple. The sound of the door opening and Alex holding up your food made you both immediately jump to your feet faster than you should have been capable of, "Come on, let's get home and eat!" Kara cheered, pulling on your arm.
The three of you would always be there for one another, in any situation.

Hello, I made a blog for my OCs.
This isn’t made for followers. If you follow this, expect nothing and gain something every now and again. I made this to have all my works on them in one place. The main cast is as follows:
Alex the bisexual vampire (she/her)
Sadia the aroace triclopse (they/she)
Abigail Slide the lesbian faerie (she/her)
Nill Ganas the pansexual medusi (they/them)
Elizabeth the lesbian ghost (she/her)
Elijah Danvers the omnisexual werewolf (he/they)
There will also be side characters but those are the main ones. I will record my art, oneshots, incorrect quotes and general headcanons (but I suppose all my headcanons are canon here). I will also change the pfp when I get the chance.
And here I’ll record the tags bc I’m forgetful as shit:
The Fruity Fellas for posts covering all of them/multiple of them platonically
Nilligail for Nill x Abigail posts
Alexabeth for Alex x Elizabeth posts
Three Eyed Fae (I will change the name when I think of something better) for platonic Abigail and Sadia bc they are besties and it’s adorable
A Sane Headcanon for headcanons
A Sane Bit of Lore for background information about characters or world-building
A Sane Oneshot for writings
A Sane Piece Of Art for art pieces. It’s self explanitory.
If you’re not me and you’re reading this, idk why. But either way, just refer to me as Omnipitent All Knowing Genius. Or Cedar. I don’t care either way.

Mission gone wrong
Tumblr media
The DEO infirmary went silent when director Danvers walked in closely followed by supergirl. It was supposed to be a recon mission observe and report. That’s why Alex felt okay sending you on it without her or Kara their. However it was a trap, your team leader ended up putting everyone in harms way which resulted in multiple injuries. You unfortunately got some of the worst of it.
Kara was by your bed instantly gathering you in her arms, offering words of comfort. Alex in the meantime was chewing out the responsible party.
“You’re on desk duty until further notice. Then there will be a formal review on your employment here. I can however promise you one thing you will never for as long as I am director lead another mission again.”
Alex’s voice had been lowered in a tone that sent a chill down the spine of everyone in the room, including Kara’s.
After talking to the doctor about the extent of your injuries your eldest sister gave you a hug of her own before her and Kara took you home.
While Kara was out doing her nightly patrol as supergirl Alex helped you get comfortable on the couch. “Here babe, this medication should help with the pain,” she said handing you your prescription.
“Thanks,” you said before downing it with the water Kara got you before leaving.
“I’m sorry about what happened today kiddo, I should’ve been there to protect you.”
“You can’t always be their Alex. I was gonna have to go on a mission without you sooner or later.”
“I know, I just hate seeing you in pain,” she said hugging you. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you replied. “What do you want to order for dinner?”
“Whatever you want kiddo, it’s up to you.”
“Okay, but let’s wait until Kara gets back to order I’m kind of tired right now,” you said closing your eyes.
Alex moved your head carefully so she could sit down on the couch and have you laying on her lap you fell asleep to the feeling of Alex rhythmically playing with your hair.

Cursed bullets are no fun (part 1)
part 2, part 3, part 4 , part 5, part 6
tw: angst (kind of), surgery, injuries
How. did. this.happen. Oh, yeah , you literally had the most stupid idea you’ve had in months, that’s how you ended up in that situation. It all started on a Saturday morning, you were peacefully sleeping and would have continued if it wasn’t for your alarm. You have to be kidding me you had forgotten to turn it off the night before so there you were, fully awake. You got up, grabbed your phone and dragged yourself to the bathroom. After a while you finally were walking down the stairs towards the kitchen, in which both of your mothers were having breakfast. How do they manage to get up this early? That is still a mystery to you.
‘Morning little one’ Kara said walking towards you and kissing your head
You simply hummed, still half asleep
‘How is it that you're up already?’ Lena asked while making a cup of coffee for herself
You sat in one of the chair in front of the table
‘didn’t turn the alarm off yesterday’ you answered and with that you placed your head on the table as if you were about to fall asleep again.
She laughed and gave you a cup of coffee after kissing your cheek and playing with your hair a bit.
You looked at the cup, Coffee? That’s weird, Lena never lets you drink coffee. You couldn’t blame her honestly, you’ve always been a nervous kid and if you add the powers the result could be a bit stressful for a parent. You were about to question her, but decided not to, just in case she might regret giving it to you.
When you were about to fall asleep Kara sat in front of you and asked ‘So, what are your plans for today?’
It took you a couple seconds to process the question (you definitely weren’t a morning person).
‘I don’t know’ You looked at her and she smiled ‘Why? What were you thinking?’
‘Well, I was thinking that maybe we could, I don’t know, do something fun today’
‘Such as?’
‘Do you remember that musical that we wanted to go to?’
‘Yeah but we couldn’t because you had a supergirl emergency right before it’
She looked down and then held her hand up holding three papers
‘No way’
she nodded
‘It turns out that Supergirl saved a certain director the other day and this is the result’
‘This is so cool!’ You ran towards her and hugged her
‘But that’s not the best part’ she said while looking at Lena
‘What is it?’ you said with your arms still around her neck
‘The best part is that your mom agreed on going without almost complaining’
You both laughed (it wasn’t a mystery that Lena wasn’t a big fan of musicals she preferred a good horror film or sci-fi). You then walked towards Lena and hugged her too.
‘Thank you’ you mumble
‘Your welcome baby’ she mumbled back
You were all enjoying this family moment when Kara received a call for Alex and was soon enough leaving in her super suit
‘Don’t take long’ you said
‘We won’t miss the play, I promise’ and with that she left
For a couple hours the day was like any other, but then you heard it. Your super hearing wasn’t fully developed yet, so sometimes you would hear things without trying. What you heard that morning was your aunt Alex ‘Supergirl, you must retreat now! Another one is coming and we can’t with all of them. We need back up’ ‘There’s no one else Alex, I must continue’ your mom said. Before you know it you had already taken off your kryptonite bracelet and were walking towards the door without Lena noticing.
You took off and were flying towards your mom's voice. You looked at the situation, your mom, Alex and Dreamer were surrounded by a bunch of giant aliens. You watched for a while, analyzing. You soon realized how one of the aliens was a bit bigger than the rest, but not only that, he seemed like the leader since the rest were almost following him. Here we go
You flew a bit higher and then as fast as you could against him with your fist in front of you. You do know that your powers aren’t fully developed yet and you don’t even know if you want to be a hero in the future, but after hearing your mom struggle with these aliens you couldn’t stay behind, not when you could be helping. Your fist hit him right in the face and he fell to the ground
‘Y/N?!’ Supergirl screamed
You looked at her and waved ‘Oh, hi mom. I heard you needed backup’
She runned towards you and inspected your body searching for wounds
‘I’m fine mom. Look, I know I’m probably in a lot of trouble, but, can we discuss that once this aliens are imprisoned’ you said pointing at the other aliens left
She nodded and soon enough you were side to side fighting aliens with your mom. You’re not gonna lie, it was really fun to finally put in practice all those years of aunt Alex teaching you combat. It was all going smoothly until one of the last aliens took out a weapon that looked like a gun. In front of him was your mom, but she couldn’t see him since he was fighting another alien. You saw the bullet come out of the weapon and ran after it. You managed to stop it, but with your body, that acted as a shield to Supergirl. She didn’t notice any of this until she heard you fall to the ground.
However you quickly got up
‘Y/N ARE YOU OK?’ she said, inspecting you once more. You looked at yourself and you didn’t seem hurt
‘yeah, yes I think I am’
‘sure?’ she asked with panic still in her voice
‘I think, I think I was able to stop the bullet’ you said, not quite sure of what had happened.
‘You did’ Alex said walking towards you, you looked around and saw how all the aliens were already under the control of the DEO
‘I saw it’ Alex continued while placing a hand on your shoulder
‘Does this mean she’s immune to bullets?’ Supergirl asked
‘I guess’
Supergirl and you were soon flying back home and as soon as you entered the door Lena ran towards you and hugged you
‘Y/N! THANK GOD YOU’RE OK’
She then stopped hugging you and looked at you searching for wounds. Once she realised you were ok she raised an eyebrow. ‘Where were you?!’
‘I-’ but before you could answer Kara did
‘She was with me’
Lena crossed her arms ‘With you?’
You both nodded
‘Weren’t you in a Supergirl emergency?!’
Kara looked at you and then at Lena
‘Yes,... but before you panic, Y/N here saved us’
Lena rose her eyebrows once more, telling Kara to continue
‘You should have seen it, she flew down and knocked a huge alien down with just one punch’ she looked at you ‘It was awesome’ you smiled
‘But not only that’ she continued ‘she took a bullet for me’
‘What?!’
‘I was fighting an alien when another one shot me from behind, but your daughter covered me and took it’
They both looked at you
‘I guess I’m invulnerable now’ you said
Lena then hugged you once more
‘I need you to know that it was a very stupid and risky thing to do, what would have happenned if you weren’t invunerable?’
‘I know’ you looked down, ready to hear your punishment
‘But I must also say that I’m very proud of you darling’
You blushed
‘Just please don’t do that again’
She then turned around and looked at Kara
‘You however’ Kara panicked ‘How could you let her join a fight?! She’s just a teen Kara!’ she hitted her wife’s elbow
‘I know she’s just a teen, but she acted like an adult out there’
You somehow didn’t get grounded, a true miracle. You went to the bathroom to change your clothes (since yours were a bit ruined from the fight) and at that moment you saw it. The freaking bullet. You took your shirt off and there it was, right under your ribs. It was really weird cause it was almost inside of you but it didn’t hurt. How could this be possible? You washed your hand and tried to take it out of you, but couldn’t, it was almost as if it had become a part of your body. You panicked, what were you supposed to do now, how did you even end up in this situation? Oh yeah, you tried to be a hero, that’s how. You touched it once more, you definitely shouldn’t have, because once you did it your abdomen started hurting a lot. Weird black veins started to appear, they started in the bullet and then joined your. You couldn’t deal with the pain and soon fell to the floor. You placed your arms around your body while you cried, but that wasn’t enough and you were soon screaming.
‘Y/N!’ it was Kara who opened the bathroom door first ‘LENAAAAAA’ She then ran towards you and Lena was there in five seconds. The next minutes happened very quickly.
‘Y/N CAN YOU HEAR US?’ Kara said
‘it-it hurts. Take it out’ you said between tears and screams
Kara looked at you abdomen ‘We must take her to the DEO’
Lena nodded and in five minutes you were already in a bed of the DEO with Alex next to you taking your vitals, J’onn, Nia and Brainy.
‘mom’ you said
Lena grabbed your hand and caressed it ‘it’s ok, we’re here, it’s gonna be ok’
‘I-I can’t breathe’ You felt like you were drowning, Kara noticed the speed your heart was at.
‘J’onn look at this’ Alex said. He looked at the tablet she was holding and then at the bullet that was inside of you
‘What? What is it?’ Kara asked
Alex looked at her sister, then at J’onn and finally at you
‘Alex, what is it?’ Lena said
‘It’s a cursed bullet’
‘What 's that?’ Nia asked
‘A black bullet is a dangerous weapon capable of hurting any creature. Not even Supergirl is immune to it. But that’s not the worst’ Brainy explained both Kara and Lena looked at him desperately ‘It contains a venom that spreads through the veins causing terrible pain. It kills the victim in less than an hour’
‘WHAT?!’ Kara screamed
‘Wait, if it's a venom there must be an antidote, right?’ Lena said, still holding your hands
While this conversation was happening you were crying and screaming from the pain and your moms were trying to calm you down.
‘yes, there is, but that won’t be enough. We need to get the bullet out’ Brainy said
‘Your daughter needs a surgery and she needs it now’ Alex said
Your moms looked at each other and nodded
‘Ok, do it’ Lena said
Alex nodded ‘Ok, but there’s too many people here. Everyone except Brainy out’
J’onn and Nia left but your moms didn’t move
‘Kara’
‘Alex I’m not leaving her side’ You mom said, her sister placed her hand on her shoulder.
‘I know you are worried, I am too, but if you want this to work I need you to wait outside’ she said while looking at Lena too.
‘You’ll be ok baby’ she said to you, then she held Kara’s hand and guided her towards the door. ‘Save her’ she said
‘I’ll do all that I can’ Alex said
You soon were asleep, from the pain and all the medicines your aunt gave you. It was a long and hard operation, the bullet was very attached to you and made things harder.
Your moms waited in the next room. Well waited, Kara was walking around the room while Lena just stared at the documents in her hands without actually reading them.
‘Don’t you think they’re taking a lot of time?Maybe we should go check?’ Kara asked still walking
‘Kara, darling, they are performing a complicated surgery. The last thing they need is for us to be interrupting’ Lena answered. She looked at her wife and realized she was crying. ‘Love, hey hey, no. Come here’ she said, patting the chair next to the one she was in. Kara obeyed and sat next to her.
‘it’s my fault Lena’ she said now fully crying covering her face with her hands
‘no no no it's not. You did nothing wrong’ Lena answered
‘Exactly, I did nothing. Our daughter joined me in a fight and I did nothing. She got shot to save me and I did nothing, the one in that surgery room should be me not her’
‘Look at me’ Kara didn't
‘Kara please look at me’ Lena placed her hand on her wife’s cheek and raised her face until they were looking at each other. ‘If Y/N hadn’t been in the fight who knows what could’ve happened, you said it yourself she saved you. Besides you were so proud of her finally using her powers for good, and, if it was her the gun was aiming at, don’t tell me you wouldn’t have done the same’ She cleaned her wifes tears with her thumb ‘Look, we can’t change what happened, as much as we want too, she made the choice to save you and, she’s not and idiot, she knew there could be consequences’
‘She’s so smart’ Kara said
‘She is, and we must be proud of her. I mean she just saved the Girl of Steel’
Kara laughed softly at the comment
‘I love her so much’
‘I do too. She’s strong and will be fine’ Even if Lena was saying this, she was still terrified but had to bring the positive point of view out to help her wife. Kara hugged her and they both stayed like that, crying softly and silently. Until they weren’t crying anymore and were simply enjoying each other's comforting touch. After a while they heard the door opening. They immediately stood up when they saw that it was Alex.
‘What happened?’ Lena asked
‘Is she ok? Did you take the bullet out of her?’ Kara said
‘We took it out yes’ Alex replied while walking towards them
‘How is she?’
‘Resting, it was a pretty tough surgery and she woke up during it. I’m not gonna lie it was complicated and she was and probably still is in a lot of pain’
‘Oh rao’
‘Yeah, but she was very strong and got through it. However-’ before continuing Alex stopped and took a deep breath. Both Kara and Lena panicked a bit and looked at her begging her to continue.
‘Go on’
‘You must know that even if the bullet is out, there might be a possibility that there’s still a bit of poison in her veins. So, we’ll have to do a treatment for a while until we get all of it out. But not only that, you need to know that because Y/N is half kryptonian, she is more resistant than me or Lena as humans, that’s why she was able to suppress the pain for a while after the attack. But by doing that her ‘alien’ part is totally exhausted and it was her human part what got her through surgery. This means that she will take a while to recover and we are still not sure of how her powers will respond yet’
‘Does this mean she might lose them?’ Kara asked
‘I don’t know, but it could be a possibility’
‘That doesn't matter, what does is that she is safe now’ Lena said
They both nodded. A couple of minutes later both of your moms are entering (with Alex) the room you were in. They looked at you, trying hard not to start crying again, you really looked exhausted. You were, you were really tired, so tired that you couldn’t even sleep.
‘Look who woke up again, if you keep waking up I’ll have to give you a stronger sedant,'' Alex said in a sarcastic tone. After quickly checking on you she left to give you some privacy.
‘Hey, how are you feeling, little one?’ Kara asked, sitting in a chair next to your bed and holding your hand.
‘Like if an icecream truck has just ran me over seven times’
They both laughed at the comment, even if you had almost died your sarcasm was still there.
‘You should try and sleep’ Lena said
‘I know’
‘For at least a couple of hours, without waking up’ she said
You laughed softly. ‘I’ll try’
‘Well, we’ll have to make sure you do’ Kara said and laid on the bed next to you and brought you close to her. Soon Lena followed so you were now squished between your moms.
‘There’s not a chance we can still go to the play right?’ you said
‘Nope, but we’ll go other day, don’t worry about that’
Kara started caressing your arm and Lena started humming a lullaby she used to sing to you when you were a baby (it always calmed you down) and soon enough you were completely asleep. When you woke up it already seemed like morning since there was sunlight entering the room, you also noticed that Lena wasn’t there, Kara was sitting on a table in front of your bed eating while reading something on her phone, still wearing the same clothes she was wearing yesterday. It didn’t take long for her to notice that you were awake
‘Hi little one’ she said leaving everything she was doing and walking towards your bed
‘Hi’
‘How are you feeling?’ she asked while sitting next to you and placing one lock of your hair behind your heart.
‘Better’ you said while sitting
‘That’s great, oh wait’ she said and went back towards the table. She grabbed the plate of food that she was eating and gave it to you. ‘Here, you should eat’
‘But you were eating it’ you said
‘It’s ok, I’m not hungry anymore, besides you need it more than me so’ she placed the plate on your lap. You laughed, even if you were really hungry you divided the food in half and made Kara eat one of them knowing that she was definitely hungry.
‘Where’s mom?’ You asked
‘She had to leave, an emergency at L-Corp, she was also gonna stop at home to take a shower I think, but she’ll be back soon’ Kara said
‘You’ve spent the night here?’
‘Of course’
So that’s why she looks so tired, knowing her, she probably didn’t sleep at all and Alex must have convinced Lena to go home and shower, otherwise she wouldn’t have left.
You looked at your abdomen, right where the bullet was. It was now all bandaged. Kara noticed and placed her hand on top of it, gently.
‘Sorry for worrying you’ you said
‘Don’t. It was not your fault. If anyone is responsible for this is me’ Kara said
‘Why? You did nothing wrong’
‘I should have protected you’ Kara replied, looking at the bandage
‘Ieu, as much as you want you can’t protect me from everything all the time. Besides I’m fine now’ you said
‘I wish I could’ she said while placing the plate (now empty) and laying next to you, placing her arms around you ‘You’re just a baby’ she said grabbing your face with her hands and squishing it ‘a small little cute thing’ and she started kissing your cheeks, forehead, nose nonstop while you laughed
‘Stop’ you said laughing. After some more minutes she stopped
‘So, you’re really feeling better?’ she asked
‘It’s weird, but I feel stronger than before’
Before Kara could answer Lena walked in
‘You’re awake’ she said sitting on the bed and kissing your cheek and later Kara’s
‘and she’s feeling better’ Kara said
‘Great, now we can all eat’ she placed a bag full of food in front of you. You looked at Kara and she looked at you
‘You’ve already eaten haven’t you?’
‘That doesn’t mean that I’m no longer hungry,'' you said, opening the bag. They both laughed at your comment.
You all ate (again) and talked for a while. Your moms were about to tell you about the changes your powers could suffer and the treatment you’d have to do for some weeks but decided not to and enjoy the little family moment. It had been a really hard couple days but you were together so that was all that mattered. Unaware of all the changes you went through in those two days and the importance they would soon have.

Synthetic Blood
After taking over her father's company, Lena Luthor spends her time trying to develop a safe man made synthetic blood for medical science and maybe for herself and her kind too of course. You see, Lena is technically human but she is also technically a vampire, well more of a half vampire that's more or less human except for her extra abilities and vitality. As she tries to develop a Blood substitute her brother Lex attempts to steer her away from the light and back down a dark path that has always beckoned her to walk down.
[Look, vampires are kinda cool and I've been meaning to finish this idea that I literally dreamed about last year so let me know if you guys like it, hate it, or have ideas for it yeah? I'll post it on Ao3 later.] Words: 3,036K 🙃
Lillian took the cold metal brush handle in her hand, making it up to her hair, and started to brush through the already smooth tresses of hair on Lena's head.
"On to more pressing matters, it seems we won't be hunting for a while, seeing that the humans are now more aware of our kind since your brother started his little war with the Kryptonians." The aimless brushing continued a bit rougher than before but not painful.
"How are we to feed then mother, how are you going to feed? I am obviously already prepared but I know you prefer straight from the source." There was a slight hesitation in the last stroke of the cold brush.
Lillian set it down slowly almost methodically as she turned away and towards the moonlit window behind them.
Lena looked after the older woman cautiously.
"Mother?"  Wearily she stood from the vanity mirror and closer to Lillian’s side.
She received a click of a tongue as an answer before she sighed.
"I hated how it reeked on his body, your father I mean, I hated how the smell of artificial blood was always stuck to him, it reminded me of that awful white meat substitute that some humans love in place of real meat."
"Tofu mother," Lena added helpfully as Lillian sneered further at the window and crossed her arms over her chest in defiance.
"Yes, that was it. He always smelled of his fake blood, you already adopted his tendencies to not want to drink from the source of what we need to survive, which is fine but I’ll never understand it." She turned her head to Lena almost puzzled.
“Well mother I know that this situation will be harder but I’ll try and figure something out for us. I'm sure I can maybe synthesize something more to your preferences if need be."
Lillian wasn't the warmest parent compared to most others but after Lex went on with his blood-war with the aliens, she saw that Lena was more stable than she originally thought, especially compared to her son. So through great effort and shattered pride, she tried her best to bridge the gap between her and her daughter as best as she could, trying to make up for years of neglect and misplaced scorn.
With a defeated sigh Lillian finally turned to look at her youngest,
"Thank you, dear, I know you'll try no matter how many times I say I'll be fine. I just want you to  use that brilliant brain of yours for more than just little old me, I'm content with the choices and endless amount of repenting I have waiting for me when it's time." Lillian never smiled at Lena, at least not often, especially as a child, but the one she gave her at that moment was the best one she'd ever seen.
“I think we all do mother. Thank you for taking care of me and letting me wait out the sun for today, I lost track of time again.” Lena lightly skims her thumb over the still healing blemish on her arm, if she were a full vampire like the rest of the Luthors in her family she would have lost it or simply turned to dust as her father did.
“Any time dear, this is still your home too, no matter what your brother claims.”
Lena almost cries, such simple words that her past self would have never dreamed of hearing from the woman before her, Lena simply nods in acknowledgment and heads back out to her car to get back to her apartment.
The drive back to National City is quiet, the long highway back lets her mind playback the hellish day she had, to say she’s dreading the minute she has to see the cities resident Super would be an understatement.
She saw me, I know she saw what I’m capable of. Or at least that I'm definitely NOT human.
Lena’s thoughts turn darker as she imagines the red-caped hero’s look of repulsion and utter hate when she does truly figure out that she’s a creature of the dark, or, at least half of one.
Her mind spirals further down the dark hole of fear of what she will do with her, so much so that she missed the new set of headlights quickly coming closer in her side-view mirror.
When it finally caught enough to slam into her back bumper she quickly snaps out of it and tries to keep her own car on the road and away from the sheer drop of the mountainside to her right.
“Fuck! Now, what!?” The vehicle sways again as the car behind her clashes into hers, she took one of her more pedestrian cars today so her usual horsepower she’d use to escape is severely lacking this time as another hit on her life is in motion again this week.
So much for going incognito.
The shattering of her rear window makes her jump, the side of her car slamming right into the metal railing, seeing the lack of ground on the other side has her heart drop right into her stomach as she tries to get control again.
Big nope to that.
Another pop was registered in Lena’s brain as she finally lost control of her car, her vision spinning just as quickly as the car itself.
“Fuckfuckfuck! I swear, I'm going to stake you myself when I deal with your pets, Lex!” Sweating out of panic, Lena decides that trying to outspeed them won’t happen while in her brick ford car, she figures that she just might have to use some of her power for this one.
Her car makes a sudden stop as the front end crashes through the metal railing at the edge of the road, she was lucky the car became wedged into the twisted metal otherwise she would have had a very unfortunate freefall over the cliff.
Dizzyingly, Lena pries her hands from the steering wheel, her death grip making her bones ache as she tried for her seatbelt next. The sound of car doors slamming shut jumpstarts her heartrate, flooding her system with adrenaline.
The shadows in the headlights get closer, the sound of a gun reloading, four sets of boots crunching on gravel as they round her car on both sides.
She is actually scared now, her right shoulder twinges painfully as she tries to rip out the buckle of her seatbelt, “Ah, shit.” They actually hit her it seems, her white blouse is starting to bleed red down her arm the more she struggles on the belt.
A balding man crouches down into her window, his eyes are glazed over, his face is twisted into a sickening grin. “Hello halfy,” He sneers. “Your big brother wanted us to check in on you this fine night, he was deathly worried for your health as of late.”
His gaze snaps to her bloody shoulder fixated on it for a second or so as he takes a deep breath of warm fresh blood, his dull eyes start to pool red as he takes another lung full of bloody air.
Lena shudders in disgust tilting her face away from his, he reeks of death and rot, ghouls were her least favorite creature that her brother had in his employ.
“Enjoying ourselves are we?” She mutters as his eyes roll open again.
He hums in delight. “He did say your blood was more or less mortal, it's almost humanly sweet.” his smile widens, some kind of old meat seemingly stuck in his teeth and gums as he appraises the state of her and her battered car. “Shame you didn't drive your nicer car, we could have stripped it for parts, but ah, oh well. We’re only here for you tonight then sadly.”
A creaking noise shook the car as he ripped her driver’s door clean off its hinges, Lenas heightened smell was shocked by a wall of death the bald man oozed when he leaned in to free her of her seatbelt and dragged her out of the car by the scruff of her blouse.
Still dazed and newly freed from the metal deathtrap, Lena saw this as her last chance to try and escape from her brother’s lackeys. “I may smell human but by no means does that mean that I’m weak like one.” Latching onto the ghoul’s arm with shaking hands, Lena uses his own weight to counterbalance them both into the loose dirt and flipped herself over again to grab for his throat. She hates to use it but her power has to be used now before what little blood she does drink wears off and leaves her completely defenseless, she’ll have to kill him quickly.
His body starts to convulse as she uses her hand to tear into his fragile throat, black rotten blood oozing over her fingers as his body finally stops thrashing about. She’s still aware of the three heartbeats of the other goons as she finally stands up, her glowing eyes lock onto a man with mousy brown hair, his own eyes are terrified. They all are.
These ones are all human, two are just boys compared to her own age, and they’re all frozen stock still like rabbits to a fox.
Lena is shaking, she doesn’t kill humans, she won’t stoop to her brother’s level. “Leave, go home and forget about this whole night, I don't want to kill any of you. This man was not human, he likely would have eaten you all after my death so take this as an act of mercy. Please.”
The youngest is seems to want no part so he tossed down his weapon and dragged the other two back to their vehicle, the older ones still frozen and staring at the rapidly decaying body of the now-dead ghoul. “Let’s get the hell out of here guys!”
The car ripped out and back onto the highway leaving a wobbly and drained Lena in the dust, “Ugh!” She shrieks in anger as she kicks the rotten body in her rage.
Before she can take out more of her frustration on the dead ghoul she hears a familiar chime of her phone’s ringtone, or more specifically, Karas ringtone.
“Shit. Movie night, I was supposed to be at Karas tonight.” Grumbling as she whipped her bloody hand on her jeans, she bent over to pick up her cracked phone to answer her friend.
“Lena?” Lena sighed, “Hi Kara, I'm sorry for not calling you back, I seem to have run into some car trouble on my way to yours.” Glancing over to her clearly totaled car she winced at the sight of it, “Well more like it's completely totaled now.”
On Karas’s end of the line, she heard a crash and rushing of footsteps, “Ohmygosh! Are you okay Lena?? Where are you, I can come to get you or send my friend to help? Please tell me you’re okay..”
The brunette felt her eyes well up with tears, she really didn't deserve this human known as Kara Danvers, she really didn't.
“I'm off of creek falls and the main highway near the cliff drop, I'm no worse for wear sort of, I'm standing on my own two feet at the moment so I’d say ok, for now anyway, I definitely need a shower and a lot of sleep after this though.” Lena tried to joke but didn't hear Kara anymore, just a rush of air against the microphone.
Confused Lena checks the line, “Kara? Are you still there?”
“Y-yeah Lena I'm still here, um, please don't be mad." Now that made Lena pause. "What? Why would I be mad at you?"
The wind in the earpiece lighted up a bit, "I'm almost there, I'm picking you up, I called Alex she'll be on her way too okay? Was there another car involved or an animal run across the road?" Panic gripped at Lena, Kara can't see this mess! Let alone the rotting ghoul body at her feet, she wouldn't understand!
"Kara, wait, it’s alright I already called the authorities and everything, it'll take a bit but I'm fine right now, also don't drive while on the phone! I don't want to be the cause of yet another accident tonight." Lena hear Kara scoff into the phone, "Thank you for the concern, but I'm definitely not driving, I don't even have a permit." She chuckled at her own expense.
Another pause.
"I'll be fine, just promise not to be mad when you see me? Yelling is fine but don't hate me, please." Anxiety wasn't a common thing for Lena but right now she can feel it clawing up her throat and she swallowed down her guilt of having her sweet fragile Kara seeing what her own monstrous hands are capable of.
She trusts Kara with her life, she'll have to trust her with her dark secret now. "Only if you promise me the same, it’s a mess over here and I'm certain that it'll be horrific for you to see why."
Kara hummed in thought for a second, "Well duh, I could never hate you Lena, or any other bad emotion towards you really." She said carefully like if she said it louder Lena wouldn't believe her.
"Ah wait, I think I see you? Oh." Kara whispered then the line went dead.
Lena was sitting hunched against her busted car, looking around confused at the lack of vehicle, Kara nowhere in sight. Letting out a ragged breath Lena let her head fall back with her eyes closed, praying that Kara would listen to her explain the scene before her.
The brunette’s eyes snapped open when she felt a warm hand on her good shoulder, to say she almost shit a brick would be putting it very lightly because right before her was Supergirl, but in Kara Danvers' sweats, T-shirt, and a very red cape with no socks or shoes to top it all off. Being shocked would be a very light word for how Lena is at that moment.
Super- uh, Kara is pretty much herself while she looks Lena over,  making soft cooing noises as she checks over each scrape and bruise, she all but balls her eyes out when she shifts Lena's shirt to check the gunshot wound.
"Lena, Rao, I should have listened further out for you, if I was listening I could have stopped this." Lena was a bit slow to process her words but she quickly bounced back and stupidly asked, “Kara? You’re not human?” Kara stilled her hands, “Yeah. I'm sorry I kept it from you ‘till now, I just could never find the right moment to tell you. I was going to try again tonight if that’s  worth anything.”
Kara did look nervous, wary that Lena was angry about her lying for so long, but instead of being angry Lena just full body laughed at their predicament.
As light tears started to form in Lena's eyes Kara nervously held the brunette's hand. "Lena? I don't know if laughing should make me feel nervous or happy right now."
Lena chuckled a couple more times and pulled the blonde into a relieved hug. "I've been an idiot, I've been trying to bring up the fact that I'm not human either for the past year Kara, so right now I think it's a bit ridiculous that you've been worrying about the same thing." Lena definitely didn't miss the full bodied twitch Kara did after hearing her say this, she understood though, Lena is technically human but only partially. It was briefly a one sided embrace until Kara hugged her back with almost all her strength, leaving Lena only mildly squished but overall content.
Their little bubble was immediately burst when a black SUV pulled up to blind the two of them, a bedraggled Alex dressed in her own pajamas and combat boots holding a shovel, "Kara. Tell me why did you text me 911 please  bring a shovel! At 1 am Kara- WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT??"
Alex is out of her car and right by Kara's side almost instantly when the once thought to be dead ghoul flips onto its side to drag its to Lena, grossly gurgling its black blood as it crawls over to the trio.
"That would be what's left of my brother's newest hit and sent to check in on me. He's a ghoul so I probably should have made sure to take the whole head off inside of ripping her throat out." Lena extracts herself from an equally shocked Kara and tugs the shovel out of Alex's limp fingers, "Please pardon me, I'll give it right back."
Alex looks at her dumbfounded, Lena shrugs as she turns back to the ghoul clearly annoyed beyond belief. "I would say have a nice trip given that you're going straight to hell but I really don't appreciate what you did to my car, " she glances over at the once upon a time pristine white paint job and cringes at the many bullet holes and scratches.
"Actually I'm more pissed that I had to meet you at all, so, bye now."
She raised the shovel as high as she could with her good arm and swung down with all of her might, the ghoul let out one last hiss as the head fell from his body.
Exhausted Lena looks back at the gawking Danvers sisters, "Help me clean this up and I'll get you both whatever food you want and could eat for a month?" She was almost certain Alex was going to shoot her up until that offer was in play, both sisters bolted up and came over to help.
"You're also going to fill us in about whatever the hell that thing was and why he worked for your brother." Alex stated as she waved her hand in Lena's direction in an almost protective voice.
"And about the not human thing." Kara mumbled as she grabbed the creatures legs over to the deepening hold Alex was currently working on.
With a big sigh of relief Lena nodded, vowing to answer whatever her two friends asked her.
"Deal."

Superwoman
https://archiveofourown.org/works/28476486/chapters/70718184
One second Kara was zooming through the weird light show the universe-jumping device always put on, eyes wide as she flashed through universe after universe on her way back to her own. The next second she blipped into existence right in the middle of an alien brawl and a giant purple fist hit her in the face. The next second? Nothing but darkness.
When Kara came to who knows how long later she was in the DEO, laid up in a hospital bed and with a familiar, worried pair of green eyes looking at her.
“Kara,” Lena sighed in relief. A moment later, however, she was glaring at her. “I know your journalism is very important to you, but you can’t get that close to an alien brawl.”
Kara stared at the dark-haired woman, blinking owlishly several times before finally opening her mouth to speak. “Lena, what-”
“Me? Lena? Pfft, I’m not Lena,” the person who was definitely Lena said defensively, her eyes looking anywhere but at Kara. “I’ll go get the doctor, you must have been hit harder than I thought.”
Just as Lena turned to go, Kara finally letting her eyes drop from Lena’s face to take in her outfit and physique and realizing that this Lena wasn’t her Lena, a commotion began in the control room. Lena turned towards the noise with wide, confused eyes, and after listening in Kara realized why: she was the one causing the commotion. Or rather, this Earth’s Kara was.
“That’s not me!” The other Kara yelled, running through the parting crowd of DEO agents and towards the med bay. “I saw,” she paused and gasped for breath and Kara felt a sinking feeling in her stomach, because if this Earth’s her was out of breath, and Lena was dressed like that, it could only mean one thing. “I saw you save her, on the news. And she’s not me, Superwoman.”
Lena turned to Kara with narrowed eyes, her brows scrunched together furiously, and Kara was fairly certain she was about to be laser beamed. She, however, had a much more pressing issue on her mind.
“Superwoman?!” Kara yelled, jolting to a seating position and pointing at Lena. “Superwoman? HOW? This didn’t make any sense in the first place and now you’re telling me you get to be Superwoman? And you even have pants already?!!” Kara was fuming, so angry the rest of whatever she was going to say was just a series of indignant and unintelligible sputters.
Lena looked taken aback at the blonde’s anger, and she took a few steps to the side so she was standing protectively in front of the other Kara.
Kara’s phone ringing cut off her attempts to form angry words from her angry spluttering and she yanked it out of her pocket, wishing she’d chosen to wear her suit instead of her civvies, discretion be darned. “What?”
“Kar? You good? I’m getting some weird readings from your suit,” Alex’s voice crackled through, broken up and staticky. Kara fiddled with the clunky device strapped to her phone and the yellow blinking light on it turned a steady green. “Kar? You there?” Alex’s voice was crystal clear now.
“Yeah, sorry. I had to adjust the turtle.” Kara’s focus was on her phone, though when a pale hand tried to snatch it away at super speed she easily evaded. “What the heck, Lena?”
“You’re communicating with Alex Danvers?” Lena hissed, her eyes actually beginning to glow blue. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“Please tell me you didn’t blip into existence in the middle of one of Lena’s board meetings,” Alex said over the phone. “She was going to be pissed enough that we didn’t tell her you were going to another Earth!”
Lena’s eyes widened at that and she took a small step forward, crossing her arms tightly over her chest and concealing the searing red symbol of the House of El that stood out starkly against the mostly black super suit. “You really expect me to believe this Kara is from another Earth, and not some twisted clone you made, Alex?”
This Earth’s Kara rushed over and stopped beside Lena, her eyes wide. “You’re me from another Earth? A- and your Alex is good?”
Kara’s brow crinkled as she looked between the alternate her and super Lena (she was not going to call her Superwoman okay). “What do you mean, is my Alex good? Of course she’s good. Why wouldn’t she be?”
“Kara,” Lena said quietly, wide, concerned eyes trained on her Kara, whose chin was wobbling from the urge to cry.
“M- my Alex,” other Kara began softly, eyes trained on the floor. “She’s the head of an organization called CADMUS. She hates aliens to the point that it drove her insane. She’ll stop at nothing to kill Superwoman. She- she’s even used me against her a few times since she knows we’re friends.” Other Kara sniffled as Kara’s jaw dropped.
“Kara.” Alex’s voice sounded strained. “Please tell me that doesn’t mean what I think it does.”
“And what about Lex Luthor?” Kara asked, ignoring her sister.
“What about me?” Lex asked, strolling into view. He was wearing very familiar tactical gear. “I’m Lex Luthor, Director of the DEO, though it seems you already knew that. Care to explain how?” He narrowed his eyes at Kara, and she was astounded at how… normal he looked. The Lex in her universe had cold, dead eyes. This one’s eyes were hard, yes, and distrustful, but he stood close to his sister and the other Kara, almost… protectively? What was going on here?
“Oh Rao,” Kara breathed in realization. “Lena and I are switched in this universe. That’s why Lex is suddenly a good guy and Alex is, well, Lillian and Lex from my universe rolled into one.”
“What do you know of Rao?” Lena demanded, just as Alex asked, her voice sounding even more strained, “What do you mean you two are switched? And I am not Lillian and Lex rolled into one, Kara, you take that back or you are notgetting the last potsticker at game night ever again, I swear to god.”
“On my Earth I’m Supergirl,” Kara said, looking Lena dead in the eyes as she yanked her glasses off. The brightly colored suit materialized, and Kara had never been more thankful for the pants upgrade in her life. Being Supergirl was humiliating enough, but a skirt? Oof.
“Not Superwoman?” Other Kara asked curiously.
Kara grimaced at her human self. “Miss Grant wouldn’t budge on the name.” When she turned to Lena the woman’s eyebrows were furrowed.
“So you… grew up on Krypton, then? Like- like me?” Lena asked quietly, her voice vulnerable.
“Zhi,” Kara said quietly, her lips upturned in a small, sad smile. “I grew up Krypton, and I… I watched it explode right before my pod got stuck in the Phantom Zone.”
“Were you-”
“Awake?” Kara interrupted. Lena nodded, gulping. “Intermittently. It wasn’t…” Kara stopped and took a deep breath. “It was cold and dark and lonely and I thought for sure I’d be trapped there forever. Luckily for me, Aunt Astra needed a way to get Fort Rozz to Earth, and she was able to use my pod to do it.”
Lena and Lex exchanged a loaded look at the mention of Astra, and Kara had a feeling Lex had killed Lena’s aunt just as Alex had killed hers.
“Okay, weird as all this is,” Alex’s voice interjected, “The turtle currently has more charge than the device you’re using to get from universe to universe. At the rate the battery is draining you have two and half hours until you’ll be stuck in the universe you’re in right now, and you only have enough energy for one more jump. I think we need to call-”
“No!” Kara shouted, causing everyone gathered around her to jump. “No, Alex, you can’t call in Lena, she’ll be pissed that we didn’t call her in sooner and I’m really trying not to stress her out anymore than she has to be to run L-Corp. We can’t tell her I’m about to be stranded on an alternate Earth because I accidently broke the part of the jumper that controlled which Earth I land on! Maybe, uh, maybe this Lena can help!” Kara turned to super Lena with wide, desperate eyes. “Please tell me you’re as tech savvy here as you are on my Earth.”
“You do run a branch of LuthorCorp,” other Kara chipped in thoughtfully, “so you could probably help her. Me. Whatever, you get it.”
“I- wait, I’m not, what?” Lena spluttered, looking from her Kara, who apparently knew she was Superwoman, to the other Kara and back. “Oh Rao I didn’t correct her earlier! Lex!” Lena glared at her brother for not catching the slip, and he held his hands up in surrender.
“I was as delightfully distracted as you, sister dear,” Lex said lazily. “Besides, we both know Miss Danvers, at least thisMiss Danvers, isn’t exactly a security risk.”
All of their heads turned to the phone in Kara’s hand when they suddenly heard the muffled sound of several voices, most panicked, before it went silent. Then, “Kara Zor-El Dan-” a familiar voice growled. Kara’s yelp cut them off.
“Oh Rao! Alex, I told you not to call Lena in!”
“She didn’t,” Lena’s voice answered smoothly. “And Director Danvers will pay for that later. Right now we are going to get you back to this Earth, and then you and I are going to have a long, long talk about what exactly determines need to know information, are we clear?”
“Yes,” Kara muttered, staring sulkily at her phone, her bottom lip jutting out.
“Kara darling, I can hear you pouting, and it’s not going to work,” Lena said wryly, though she at least sounded a bit amused instead of the previous rip roaring enraged.
Other Lena didn’t seem to have heard a word of the conversation as she was still staring dumbly at her human Kara, and she finally managed to blurt out: “How did you know I was Superwoman?”
“Did I just hear that Earth’s version of me call herself Superwoman?” Lena’s voice purred, and Kara could just see the smirk on her face.
“You told me you flew to CatCo on a bus,” human Kara said, grinning at a now-blushing Superwoman.
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Lena groused over the phone. “There is no way I would ever say that. Do Kryptonians have special idiot genes?”
Human Kara gasped as super Lena and Kryptonian Kara winced. “You can’t be mean to Lena,” human Kara scolded. “Even if you are a Lena! It’s still not allowed!” She put her hands on her hips and glowered at the phone Kara was holding, which Kara instinctively cradled closer in case the other version of her got any ideas.
On the other end of the phone Kara was pretty sure she could hear Alex laughing. Her Lena mumbled something that could maybe pass as an apology before telling Kara to stay out of trouble while she made a retrieval device and hanging up.
“Why is your Lena so cranky?” Other Kara asked, her eyes narrowed as she stared her doppelganger down. “Did you do something stupid?”
“I did something brilliant, actually,” Kara replied, smirking to herself. Her audience didn’t get it at all, of course, but she still found it funny. “Now then, since my Lena is working on things, it looks like I’ll be here for a little while yet. What else is wacky?”
“How would we know?” Lena countered, arching her eyebrow.
“It’s not fair that you can still do the eyebrow thing and you get superpowers,” Kara grumbled. “Being a superhero was my thing, darn it! And in one of the universes I accidently landed in, you were also a reporter, but I wasn’t a CEO! And in another one we were both CEO’s but we’d met when you tried to buy out my company! It isn’t fair!” Kara’s lip jutted out and her puppy dog eyes were in full effect now, and Lena looked surprisingly contrite considering she really couldn’t control any of that. Other Kara just rolled her eyes.
“Oh whatever, Supergirl. Put away the pout and let’s go get potstickers while we wait for your ride home.”
And so it was, that half an hour later, full of (literally) otherworldly potstickers and having momentarily forgotten that a pissed off Lena was waiting for her, Kara was perched happily on a chair in the DEO conversing with this Lena in Kryptonese (while human Kara watched enviously), waiting for her phone to ring.
Only apparently her Lena was feeling dramatic because instead of her phone ringing the portal device beeped a brief warning before opening a swirling vortex of light in the middle of the control room and a moment later Lena strutted out, angry eyes finding Kara immediately and one eyebrow already arched dangerously. “Thanks to you I had to wear my heels an extra hour,” Lena said, her glare somehow intensifying.
With a small eep Kara sped over and gently scooped a willing Lena into her arms. “Sorry, baby.”
“My stomach isn’t the one you should be apologizing too,” Lena grumbled, turning her glare to her very obviously pregnant stomach (though the glare immediately melted into a soft, if exasperated, look). She looped her arms around Kara’s neck and let her head fall against her shoulder as her eyes wandered the astonished crowd. When her eyes fell on herself, decked out in a supersuit and looking both hopeful and afraid at this sudden development, she rolled her eyes. “I’m assuming my lovely wife neglected to mention the fact that in our universe we’re married?”
“Uh, yeah,” other Kara said, her rounded eyes not leaving Lena’s stomach.
“Wait so the reason you didn’t want to stress me, uh, her, anymore was because I, I mean she, is p-p-pregnant?” Super Lena stuttered.
“Oh my god,” human Kara breathed in realization. “That why when I asked if your Lena was cranky cuz you did something stupid you said you’d actually done something brilliant and had that weird smirk on your face! You meant you did her!”
Super Lena choked on air at that one, and Kara’s wife gave her an exasperated look. “Really, babe?”
“Is it not true?” Kara counted, smirking at her wife for a moment before pressing a soft kiss to the crown of her head. “I am sorry for not telling you I was aimlessly universe hopping. I was just worried.”
Lena sighed and nuzzled into Kara’s neck. “I know. We’re still talking about this little incident later, though.”
“Where are the rings, if I may ask?” Lex queried, a strange look on his face.
Lena flinched at the sound of his voice and burrowed impossibly closer to Kara as she turned her wary gaze to her not-brother. Silently, she held up one hand, her ring glinting in the light. Kara, meanwhile, shot a significant glance to her own wrist, where a matching bracelet could be seen peeking out of the sleeve of her suit.
“How did I not notice that?” Super Lena whispered to herself, eyes now caught on the bracelet. She only managed to pull her gaze away when she realized her favorite heartbeat (her Kara’s) was pounding especially hard, and she chanced a glance over to see what could only be a look of longing on Kara’s face.
“Go for it,” Lena encouraged, happily going back to ignoring Lex’s existence and closing her eyes. “Also we’re going home now. I need a foot rub. And a nap.” A massive yawn punctuated her statement and Kara gave her an impossibly fond look before shooting her human self a wink and walking through the portal, her wife cradled safely in her arms.

request! Alex’s daughter w/ kidney infection
Alex's daughter gets really sick with a kidney infection and has to be rushed to the hospital.
Hi guys! Its the new year here so happy new year!! I hope this year brings you all so much happiness 🤍. I apologise for taking a bit of time with requests, it got a bit difficult over the holiday period, but I’m back now and hoping to post more regularly.
To the anon that requested this, i hope this is alright!
Word Count: 678
You woke up feeling dreadful, you weren’t feeling too great when you went to bed the night before, your mom already calling you in sick for school today. When you went to the bathroom, you were met with excruciating pain in your lower abdomen. You bit your lip trying to counteract the pain, but tears still slipped out of the corners of your eyes; which were screwed shut.
“Y/n? Honey, are you okay?” You hadn’t moved from the toilet, barely being able to stand up as your mom called.
“I, mom it hurts so much.” You fell into her as you opened the door. Alex caught you and brought you over to the couch, laying you down with your head on her lap. As she started threading her fingers through your hair, she suddenly stopped and placed her hand on your forehead feeling how clammy and hot it had become. Gently, Alex placed a pillow under your head and went to grab the thermometer,
“Open” you complied as she placed the thermometer under your tongue, reading it once it beeped. She grimaced at the high fever you were running.
“Y/n, whats hurting? Where is it hurting bubs?” You groaned as your tried to sit up,
“M-my back and stomach and i-I’m so cold and it hurt so much when I went to the toilet before, momma please make it stop.” Alex sighed and brushed your hair off your face as she moved into another room to call Kara so you didn’t hear what she was about to say,
“Kara?”
“Hey, Alex, whats up?”
“Its y/n, Im pretty sure she has a kidney infection, I’m going to have to take her to the hospital, but you know how much she hates them and I don’t want to make this any harder than it has to be. Is Lena there with you?”
“Oh, the poor thing. Do you need me to fly her there? And yeah, yeah Lena’s here.”
“I think we’re good, I’m going to drive her in a moment, but could you ask Lena if she’s able to make some calls so we can get seen quickly? I just don’t want y/n to get upset kara, but I -I have to take her.”
Kara spoke to Lena who quickly made some calls while Kara reassured Alex she was doing the right thing and that she would meet her at the hospital later.
Soon enough your mom was lifting you up in her arms, you were half asleep at that point and weren’t really aware of what was happening, “Momma? Where we goin?”
“Shh honey, its alright.” She soothed as she placed you in the backseat and hightailed it for the hospital.
Alex holstered you up into her arms and brought you into the emergency room, where Lena was surprisingly already waiting, talking to the doctor to ensure you get seen to right away. When they noticed Alex walk in with you in her arms, the doctor ushered her into a room and instructed her to place you on the bed. You were groggy and confused and you just wanted your mom as you whined when she put you down.
“Shhh, shh, youre alright little one, youre alright.” The doctor inserted an IV into your arm and called a nurse to come check your vitals, after talking to Alex for a little while, he confirmed her diagnosis of a kidney infection.
Lena lay stroking your hair as you drifted in and out of consciousness so Alex could go to the hallway and call Kara, who was stuck at work.
When Lena called out to Alex, she rushed back into the room, to see you crying in the raven-haired woman’s arms. When you felt your moms presence you turned and sobbed more, reaching out for her.
“She came to enough to realise she was in hospital, she wanted her mom.” Alex nodded at Lena’s words, holding you tight and pressing kisses to your forehead.
“Mom, don’t leave me?” You mumbled through cries, Alex shushed you,
“Never honey, I’m right here.”

A oneshot where B!D gets really bad anxiety whenever one of her sisters are mad at her. She’s always worried they’ll never forgive her and there relationship will be forever ruined. Even though that never happens.
Tumblr media
ᕚ---ᕘ
The cold winter air came through the open balcony doors and slowly made the room freeze as a tense air spread between Alex and you. You, with a lump in your throat, felt the redhead's words cutting through the air like sharp daggers, ready to leave deep wounds in your heart.
Alex stood there, teeth clenched and eyes blazing with anger. "How can you be so ignorant? It's unbelievable how selfish you are!"
You, with a shiver running down your spine, tried in vain to hold back the tears. You never wanted it to turn into an argument. But Alex's words were like an uncontrollable fire that ate through your relationship, leaving you with no options to explain to her why you had taken the larger sum of money out of your shared bank account.
"Alex, let me explain. I just wanted to..." you started, but your voice was drowned in a sob. You knew you couldn't continue to defend yourself without spilling the beans about the birthday surprise. Those words wouldn't be heard anyway. Not in this frenzy of rage the redhead was currently in.
The eldest Danvers snorted and shook her head. "That's typical of you. Always ready with an excuse. You're just immature and incapable of taking responsibility for finances!"
The pain in your chest was almost unbearable. You just wanted peace again. You wanted everything to go back to how it was a few hours ago when you were laughing together and teasing each other. But this strife seemed unstoppable, a relentless storm that destroyed everything in its path.
Alex turned away abruptly, her hands balled into fists. "I can't take this anymore. I'm going to work." She spoke and you could only stand there silently, unable to act as your sister left the apartment, slamming the door behind her. Tears flowed freely down your cheeks as you stood in the silence of the deserted living room, surrounded by an endless feeling of loneliness.
A short while later, Kara flew into her apartment, her eyes wide in shock as she saw you. "What happened here? Are you okay?" she asked worriedly. You didn't say a word. Instead, you collapsed under the face of your own emotions. All you wanted was for this nightmare to end and for you to feel safe and loved again. But the pain you faced was too deep, and the wounds of the words said would take a long time to heal.
The blonde looked at her younger sister, your shaking body sitting on the floor, surrounded by a sea of tears. Her heart ached when she saw the look of despair on your face. "Come here, little one." Kara whispered softly as she knelt down and wrapped her arms around you. You sank into the embrace without resistance, clinging to Kara as if she were the only constant in a stormy sea.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” you sobbed quietly, your voice barely above an audible whisper. "Why can't I control myself when there is an argument?"
Kara stroked your back soothingly and placed a few kisses on the top of your head. "It's okay, sweetie. Sometimes our emotions are overwhelming, and that's completely normal. Plus, it shows that Alex means a lot to you."
You raised your head, tears shining in your eyes. "But why does this always happen? Why can't I just be strong and overlook it?"
Kara sighed quietly. She had asked herself this question many times in the last few months about why you always reacted so emotionally to arguments, but she didn't know the answer. She carefully brushed a strand of your hair out of your face and looked deeply into your eyes. "Perhaps there are reasons that lie deeper. Reasons that you may not yet understand."
You swallowed hard, a look of realization crossing your face. "I think I'm scared. Scared that I'll lose one of you as soon as an argument arises. That eventually none of you will forgive me and that I'll ruin my relationship with you forever."
The blonde felt a pang in her own heart when she heard the words come out of your mouth. She knew your fears were deep-rooted and wouldn't just go away. But she was also determined to help you and show you that you were loved and accepted, despite some arguments. "Arguments are normal for siblings, my sweet girl," she whispered softly. "Neither of us is going to push you away or anything. I'm going to have a chat with Alex and we'll find a way to deal with it together, okay?"
You nodded at her and she pulled you up. Together you had a cozy day on the couch, where she looked after you and tried to calm you down.
A few hours later, the door opened and Alex hesitantly entered the apartment, her eyes downcast and her face marked with regret. She felt the weight of the silence filling the room and knew she had a lot of explaining to do to make things right with you.
Kara slowly got up from her spot next to you, while you were still clinging to her, and walked towards the redhead. "It's good that you're back," she said calmly, but with a stern tone. "We need to talk. Urgently."
Alex swallowed hard and nodded, her eyes meeting yours and she could see the pain in them. "I'm sorry, Kara. I'm so sorry for what I said. It was unfair and unforgivable to y/n." She spoke and the blonde took her in his arms, surprised by her openness.
"It's okay. We all make mistakes. But we need to talk about it so we can understand what happened." the person addressed hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I spoke to Lena and she told me something that finally made me understand. She's afraid that if we fight, our relationship will be ruined forever because her real parents fought all the time before they split up and put her in a children's home."
Kara sighed and nodded slowly. "Yes, y/n told me that too. It's hard for her to deal with these fears."
Alex looked at her sister seriously before biting her lip and briefly looking at you on the couch. You had now moved into a lying position, the blanket wrapped thickly around you. "We have to show her that she is wrong. That we love her and that we will always be there for her no matter what."
The blonde smiled softly and put her arm around the redhead's shoulder. "We will, Alex. We will show her that she will never be alone and that she always has a place in our family."
They walked over to you arm in arm and took you into their midst. They hugged you tightly, united in their determination to put the fight over money behind them. You all spent the next few hours talking it out, listening to each other, and reassuring each other that you would be there for each other no matter what happened.
And as night fell and you felt tired but relieved, you all knew that you had emerged from each crisis stronger, ready to walk together on a path full of love and forgiveness.

Just Doodling!
Enjoy :)
-
"Hmm..."
The pen clicks and the nub of ink pops out.
"Kara..Danvers-Luthor.." she said slowly.
She paused.
"Kara..Luthor-Danvers.." she said slowly once again, but with a slightly higher pitch since she liked it more.
"What about .." she flipped the pen around a few times, "Kara Luthor." She shook her head. "That's a no." She scribbled that out.
"Lena Danvers."
She also scribbled that out.
"Whatcha doin'?" Alex said out of the corner of Kara ear.
"Jesus!" Kara yelped and shut her journal with a loud slap. "When did you get in here?"
"Well, funny enough, for someone who has super-hearing, I was here for a good 10 minutes talking to you about my wonderful date with Kelly just to realize that you've been talking to yourself about... this." Alex circled at Kara's journal.
"So, what were you doing?" Alex inched.
"Just doodling." Kara lied.
"Mhmm.. Okay." Alex said with a sarcastic tone before she snatched the journal out of Kara's hand.
"Hey!" Kara tried to reach for the journal, but Alex had the high ground given the fact that Kara is sitting on the sofa and Alex is towering over her.
"I will heat-vision your face, Alex." Kara stated.
Alex laughed, "No, you won't." Kara groaned. "So, let's see what my little sister was 'doodling'." Alex teased.
Alex opened the journal and started reading; Kara's face turned beet red knowing she was reading her Last Name compatibilities.
"Oh.. Mhmm. That one sounds nice." Alex says as she reads Kara's journal.
"Okay, are you done now?" Kara complained.
Alex shut the journal and gave Kara a kind smile, "Yes, I am. And I think your doodles are very cute."
Kara threw a pillow at Alex, "Shut up." she giggled as Alex joined her on the couch.
"So, after I re-tell you about my date, how about you tell me about her?" Alex told Kara.
Kara smiled, "Sounds like a good trade."

Supernatural Supercorp AU
"Lena's on a hunting trip and she hasn't been home in a few days."
Kara's world titled on its axel and she felt her heart drop. Lena had been silent for a week but Kara hadn't thought much of it. She couldn't think much of it or else she would start spiraling because she knew exactly what kind of things could make her go silent.
"Excuse us." Kara stood up from her desk and dragged Alex outside where no one could hear them. "What job was she working?"
"I'm not sure, it was something in Jericho. I was in Arizona dealing with a demon. Told her to wait for me, but you know how she gets." Alex slouched her shoulders and she leaned against the wall. "There's been a spike in activity. More and more spooks have been popping up all over the place, so the hunters have been a spread thin trying to deal with it. We hardly ever split up but..." she shook her head. "I know you're out of the game and you've renounced this life, but I could really use some help. Lena doesn't go down easily so I want to be prepared for anything."
Kara pursed her lips as she thought about it. The last time she hunted was three years ago, and that was only because a vamp was killing people on her college campus. If she went on another job and saw Lena again, she wasn't sure if she'd want to come back to CatCo. And Lena... That was a whole other story in of itself.
It all started back in Midvale about 5 years ago. Kara was in her senior year of high school and Alex was halfway through med school. A month before the day everything changed, there were two murders (an oddity in a small town like Midvale) and everyone was sketched out. Alex offered to take Kara to camp in the woods to have some sister bonding time. It was winter break and the stars always helped Kara relax so she agreed. If only Kara had said no, then maybe she would never even have thought of "hunting" as anything different than shooting animals.
They easily set up the tent and started a small fire to roast some marshmallows. Alex had been catching Kara up on how medical school was going and her roommate who only ate green m&m's and slept with one sock on. In return, Kara told Alex how school was going and that Eliza was doing well. It was a fun conversation until Kara heard a faint growl.
"Did you hear that?" The blonde scooted closer to her older sister. "It sounded like a dog or something."
"You have freakishly good hearing, Kara. I didn't hear anything." Alex reached for her gun anyway.
Kara heard it louder now. Alex tensed up and searched the woods but couldn't see anything at all. The full moon was able to provide some lighting, but not much.
A howl pierced the air and a tall figure came into view. It stalked towards the two sisters and Kara nearly fainted. In front of them stood a man with thick hairs covered all over him. He was snarling with his fangs and claws out, ready to attack. Alex shot two bullets straight into the creature but it only staggered back some.
"You two look delicious."
Kara was clinging onto her big sister hoping Alex would somehow find a way to save them. She was desperately shooting until her gun was out of ammo. The creature laughed and bent its legs, ready to lunge, but was intercepted by a body tackling it.
It was a girl, Kara realized, and she was wearing a pair of silver brass knuckles. She punched the monster in the face again and pulled a silver knife from her belt. She stabbed the monster's arm and it howled in pain.
"Are you the last of your pack?” She twisted the knife and the monster whimpered in pain.
"Stupid hunter!" The creature grabbed the girl by the neck and threw her five feet into a tree. It pulled the knife out and prowled towards her. "I don't have a pack. They were wiped out by your people!"
The girl rolled to the side to avoid being ripped to shreds. She patted her side and grabbed a gun. Kara wanted to scream, to warn her that bullets had no effect, but she was petrified. Frozen to the spot.
"So you start murdering people in the town?" She shot a bullet and the monster stumbled back in pain. “Thought you would be smarter than that.”
"Humans deserve to die." It dropped to the ground and Kara could hear it's ragged breaths. "I would've killed them all-" two bullets burrowed inside its head.
"Yeah, yeah." The girl spun her gun and placed it in her pants. As she searched for her knife, the creature’s body started to morph into... Mr. Henderson?
"What the hell is going on?" Alex demanded. She was shaking and her voice cracked, but Kara appreciated the effort to stay cool nevertheless.
"I'm sorry about that." The woman wiped the blood off her knife on her trousers. "Are you both alright?"
"What was that? How come Alex's gun didn't work on it? Why is Mr. Henderson there when it was the monster? Who are you?" Kara blurted out.
"My name is Lena and that's a werewolf." She sat down on a log opposite the sisters, rubbing her neck. "Silver is the only thing that can harm them. Turns out Mr. Henderson here was behind the murders last month. A friend of mine came through the town and killed a pack, but it seems one slipped through her fingers. Came as soon as I could. Good thing I got here when I did." She pulled out a flask and drank from it.
"He was a werewolf?" Alex looked at Lena as if she were crazy. Kara would have called her nuts if she hadn't just witnessed the whole thing. "What did he mean by "hunter" and "your people?"
Lena bit her lip in contemplation. "The less you know, the better off you are. I've got rid of the threat, but I highly recommend getting the heck out of here. I'll get rid of the body, so no need to worry about that."
"That sounds like a good idea." Kara nodded her head and started to tear down the tent. She really wanted to go home and forget any of this ever happened.
Alex got up and nudged the dead body with her foot. "How come nobody knew he was a werewolf? This is a small town, we would've noticed someone turning into that every full moon."
"They're smart. Ate animal hearts for the most part and traveled out of town to eat human hearts in the city." She watched Kara disassemble the tent. "Monsters are smart like that. When something bad happens, some snap and forget to be careful."
"How long has this been happening?" Alex asked in disbelief. Kara momentarily stopped. She was curious too.
"That family that went missing a while ago, how long did they live here? However long that was is however long they were most likely chowing down on some hearts." They both gave her exasperated looks. "What?”
The tent was now all packed up. "So you're saying that the whole Abbott family were werewolves?" They sold flowers in the middle of town. Flowers! That was not threatening at all!
"Look, I drove six hours straight to get here. I'm tired, hungry, and in a bunch of pain. And I've got to burn its body. Can you guys hurry it up?"
"We're good to go." It was dark out and after what they just went through, Kara was kind of terrified of picking their way down. "Can we uh, do you mind if - I'm sorry, just." She looked at Alex who seemed to understand her fears.
"I can help you with the body if you don't mind us sticking with you on the way down? I know this awesome 24-hour diner that we can go to if you're willing to answer more questions."
Lena seemed to think it through. "You paying?"
"It's the least we can do." Lena grinned - Kara could tell by the flash of white in the darkness - and said, "Hell yeah! Let's burn this son of a gun."
Kara stayed off to the side while the two burned it. The smoke burned her eyes and the smell made her want to throw up, but they thankfully left right away. Alex drove to Anna's with Lena following close behind in her own car.
When they stepped inside, Kara was able to get her first good look at Lena. And when she did, her heart stuttered in her chest. Lena was about an inch shorter than Kara, and she looked to be around the same age. She had startling green eyes that froze Kara to the spot and a jawline that was sharper than her knife. She had a black tank top with a flannel and a bomber jacket thrown over it complete with tight cargo pants, that no doubt had some weapons in it, and black combat boots. Alex had to elbow Kara so she would stop staring.
"I haven't had a milkshake in so long," Lena moaned as she slurped the drink and Kara blushed at the sound.
"Anna does have the best milkshakes," Kara squeaked.
Alex furrowed her eyebrows at Kara but she refused to look at her sister. "So what is it that you do for a living? Kill werewolves?"
"Werewolves, vampires, skinwalkers, anything that goes bump in the night."
"So that stuff is really real? Demons too?" Lena nodded. "How come we don't know about this stuff? Never heard about it?"
"You really think the public would be okay knowing stuff like that exists?" She downed the rest of her drink. "Of course some just want to live out their lives as harmlessly as they can. I know vamps who have deals with blood banks and ghouls who work in morgues and eat unclaimed bodies. But just as there are bad humans, there are bad monsters. We hunters do our best to gank the bad ones before too many people start asking questions. Most people don't know where to look so they don't see what's going on."
"So hunters are like the underworld version of cops?" Kara asked.
"Kinda. Except most people don't know about us, we don't get paid, and if we're not careful we die a gory death." She leaned back and starting tapping on the table anxiously. "I'm not in it to be a hero or anything, I just want to save as many people as I can. Give people answers to mysterious deaths. Deal with a poltergeist or two when I'm in between jobs."
"How long have you been doing this?"
"A while." The food arrived and Lena lit up when the burger was placed in front of her. "I usually try to eat healthy but I couldn’t resist. How often do you see a triple-decker bacon burger?”
Kara wholeheartedly agreed with that. The burgers there were the best in all of Midvale. She’d eat there every day if she could.
"How does one become a hunter?" Alex asked. Kara glanced at her sister curiously.
“Depends. Some people are born into it. Some accidentally get dragged into the life. Or when they get rescued from a supernatural attack, they get invested and want to hunt too." Lena shrugged and moved onto her fries.
"How'd you become one?" Lena stared at Kara with hard eyes. Touchy subject, got it.
"I want to become a hunter," Alex proclaimed.
"No, you don't. I appreciate the food and helping me, but trust me, you don't want anything to do with this life. You see loved ones die in gruesome ways, it's shitty motel after shitty motel, driving for hours on end through states, being tired to the bone, exhausted beyond relief, nightmares of the people you couldn't save, and paranoid that monsters are coming after you. If you become too big too fast, the monsters start talking and you get a target on your back. You can't exactly tell people what you do for a living or you'll end up in a mental hospital and it's a lonely life. So no, you don't want to become a hunter, sweetheart. Once you're in, you're in. You can't exactly unsee things and the life expectancy rate is like, 30 years old. You've got spunk, though. I admire that."
Alex sat up and stared directly at Lena. “But you save people. My sister and I would have been murdered and no one would have known. There are other people like that out there right? Families and younger siblings in danger?”
“Are you seriously ignoring what I just said? How old are you? 19? 20? You’ve got your whole life ahead of you. You’re probably in college too. Am I right sweetcheeks?”
Kara startled when she realized she was the one being spoken to. “She’s 20 and she’s halfway through med school,” she supplied helpfully.
“Kara!” Alex hissed and elbowed her sister.
“A medical student? Impressive.” She wiped her face using a napkin. “Become a doctor and save the world that way. Cure diseases, stop pandemics. What I’d give to go back to school,” she mused as she took on a thousand-mile stare.
“School isn’t actually what I really want to do,” Alex muttered. “I’m only doing it because my mom wants me to. I wanted to be a police officer.” Alex hadn’t told anyone that before and it felt good to get it out.
Lena stared Alex downed and it seemed as if she was somehow staring straight into her soul. “You’re on winter break?” They both nodded. “I have a job in Las Vegas. My contact wasn’t too specific, but I think it could be a vamp nest. If you’re serious about becoming a hunter, I’ll let you tag along. But you have to listen to everything I say and you will not put yourself in a dangerous position. Is that understood?”
It was a bit odd to see Alex look intimidated, especially by someone who was younger than her, but she was nodding along seriously. “I am super serious.”
“Hm.” Lena crossed her arms and moved her gaze from Alex to Kara. “What about you, cupcake? You in?”
Kara had bever been more afraid in her life. She just wanted to go home and forget everything that happened, but Alex was going. Plus, there was a chance Kara could ask Lena for some lessons and be pinned under her… “How are you going to convince Eliza to let us go, Alex?
“Don’t worry about it, Kara. I’ve got it handled,” she smirked.
Kara wasn’t sure what lies Alex told the eldest Danvers, but it worked. Two days after the diner, the trio was off to Las Vegas. Lena insisted on driving the entire way, saying that no one was to ever drive her baby. It was an old car, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala, but it had clearly been well taken care of. She had mixtapes that were purely classic rock and heavy metal which made Alex appreciate the hunter even more. The drive, which should have been at least 6 hours, took about 4 and a half (Lena was speeding and Kara half expected them to get pulled over but they never did).
It was around noon when they arrived at Sin City and they stopped for a quick bite before finding a cheap motel at the end of the strip.
“I think I know where the hideout is,” Lena spoke up from her bed. They had checked into the room about three hours prior and Lena spent the time typing away on her laptop and answering Alex’s never-ending questions. Kara took to reading through her journal about all the monsters she’s encountered and how to defeat them. She tried not to be jealous when she saw the name “Sam” popping up every once in a while.
“Where?”
“An old warehouse about an hour out. I don’t know, something just doesn’t feel right about this.” She ran her hand through her hair for the millionth time that hour. “It’s our best chance, so let’s go check it out.”
Kara was impressed by the arsenal the hunter kept in the trunk of her car. It was enough to arm a small army. Alex was given a syringe full of deadman’s blood and Kara a machete with instructions to cut off the vampire’s head clean off. It was just before 10 when they arrived and Kara strained her ears to see if she could hear anything but she was too far away.
“I have a really bad feeling about this,” Lena muttered. She stayed in her seat with her eyes closed. Alex and Kara exchanged looks but stayed quiet. “I’m going to go in first. If I’m not out in five minutes, Alex come after me. If she’s not out in two minutes, you come in Kara. If it’s not a vampire, then it might be a djinn. Deadman’s blood won’t work on it, so try and smash its head in.” Lena gripped her own machete. “Start the timer.” She opened the door and dashed towards the ominous building.
At the four minute mark, Alex went in after her. From what Kara had gathered, Lena was an expert hunter and she had taken down far more than a vampire nest. Maybe her intuition was right and it was a djinn, not a vampire nest. Kara opened the trunk and rummaged through the assortment of weapons and thanked God for the jar of lamb’s blood. From what she read, Lena never actually faced a djinn before but someone named Lionel had. He used a silver knife dipped in lamb’s blood to kill it so Kara prayed that it would work.
She snuck into the building but she still couldn’t find anything. She walked as silently as she could until she saw a light up ahead. When she approached it, she noticed Lena tied to a chair with her head resting on her chest. Then she saw Alex slumped in a man’s arm. He was carrying her to a table where there was an assortment of knives. Panic surged through the blonde’s body but she couldn’t mess up now. They were depending on her!
Once he set Alex down, Kara dashed forward with a burst of speed and brought the knife down only for the body to dodge out of the way.
“It must be Christmas!” The man exclaimed. “So many bodies, so much blood.” He licked his lips. “I’ll be feasting on you all for a while!” He rushed towards Kara but she dodged his hand. She couldn’t be touched or else she would be put in a coma like the others.
He tried to come at her again but Kara ducked and swiped her legs at his feet. The djinn jumped to avoid her legs but missed the punch she sent at his face. When he grabbed it, Kara kicked him in his sweet spot and brought the knife down to his chest. His eyes shined an unnatural shade of blue before he went limp. Blue blood had splattered on her, but Kara didn’t care. She ran to Alex’s side and gently woke her up.
“It’s not a vampire!” Alex sat up and looked around fearfully. “You’ve got to run!”
“Alex, it’s okay, it’s okay.” Kara grabbed her shoulders and made direct eye contact with her sister. “Everything is under control now.” She heard groaning from behind her and she turned to see Lena waking up. Her eyes were blurry and wet, as if she was about to cry, and she took in her surroundings.
“Untie me, yeah?” Kara obliged and walked over to cut the ropes. “I’m impressed, Danvers. You really saved my ass.”
Kara blushed and tried to say something cool like, no problem. Or, it was nothing. Maybe something funny like, guess I’m your knight in shining armor. What she actually said was, “I used your lamb’s blood to kill it, sorry.”
The hunter laughed and shook her head. “A small price to pay. I’ll be sure to get some more, then.” She looked at the dead body and the knife that was still protruding from his chest. “Hey Alex, can you get some empty syringes? I want to get as much of his blood as I can to study it.”
“Yeah, sure.” Alex was still in a daze but she managed to stumble out of the empty warehouse.
Lena turned to look at Kara and studied her face. “I knew you didn’t really want to tag along, but thank you for coming. Seriously. I would have been pissed as hell if I died now. I’ve still got to…” she bit her lip to stop herself. “You’re a natural. Even I would have had some trouble dealing with him if I had known what I was dealing with.” She gently cupped Kara’s face and pressed a kiss to her cheek, her lips catching the corner of Kara’s.
Kara almost fainted from the adrenaline crash and the lightheadedness she felt from Lena’s lips on her. Thankfully, Lena dragged her into a chair with a wry chuckle. She and Alex filled five vials with the djinn’s blood before the three put that place behind and headed back to the motel.
They stayed in Vegas for another day. Kara and Alex explored the city while Lena stayed inside to do research. When they made it back to Midvale, Lena informed them that she’d stay in town for a couple of days since there were no pressing jobs that needed her attention.
A couple of days ended up being the rest of winter break. She had taken them to Salt Lake City after the New Year to take care of a vengeful spirit but, other than that, there were no more hunts. Alex was convinced that this was her calling and was determined to become a hunter. Kara couldn’t deny how right it felt kicking butt with Lena and saving the world one monster at a time, either. Once their year was over, Lena promised she would take them for a couple of more hunts before allowing them to become fully invested.
After she left, Kara and Alex spent a lot of time getting into shape and Kara continued even after Alex went back to school. In her free time, she would either read different mythologies or text Lena.
(Even though Lena was hunting a lot, or driving through states, or in a different time zone, she always made sure to at least text Kara once a day. Sometimes on long drives, they’d even talk on the phone. Alex didn’t get the same treatment and it made Kara’s heart do somersaults when she found that out.)
Lena and Alex were both there for her high school graduation and she definitely cried. Her parents couldn’t make it to see her, but she was glad she had her best friends and Eliza there for her. Alex and Kara spent a week with Eliza before bidding her farewell. Kara was taking a year off to “travel” before college. It was the best decision she had made.
Driving through states was sometimes boring, but the scenery always fascinated her. She and Alex would quiz each other on their lore while Lena drove (she was still adamant about not letting anyone touch her baby). They did a bunch of different jobs varying from cursed objects to demon possessions to ghouls. Sometimes there’d be weeks in between jobs but Lena still stayed hunched over her laptop doing research. Even on hunts she’d disappear for a while and come back looking defeated. It almost seemed like she had her own side quest but the Danvers sisters didn’t want to ask. What they had was good and they didn’t want to ruin it.
Kara learned how to make fake ID’s and was practicing on making FBI ones. Alex was the prodigy in lore and Lena would write down experiment ideas on new ways to defeat monsters.
One year had turned into two and somewhere along the way, Kara and Lena got together. Lena still had major trust issues and she wouldn’t open up all the time, but what they had was special. Alex would tease them about their relationship but she was happy for them. Things were going well until they went back to Midvale.
Eliza and Clark (Kara’s cousin) staged an intervention and asked Kara what she was doing with her life. Eliza had long given up on trying to get Alex to get back to school so Kara was the next best thing, it seemed. She couldn’t tell them that she was hunting monsters and running credit card scams so they could get by.
“It’s been two years, Kara. I think you’ve seen enough of the States. It’s time to settle down and go to college, don’t you think?”
Kara had caved in and applied to UCLA. Alex was proud of her and Lena was… she was bittersweet.
“I’m proud of you, darling. It’s good to get out of this life while you can. You’re smart and you deserve that education,” she said as they sat on the good of the Impala.
“Yeah, I guess so.” Kara frowned and kicked her dangling feet. “I’m going to miss chumming it with the both of you guys and hunting.” It was true that Kara was averse to the whole thing at first, but it really changed her life. Saving families, killing monsters, working with her girlfriend and sister, it was the life. But, she was also excited to get her education. She did want to be a reporter like her cousin.
“You’re going to be amazing, babe. Keep a low profile and don’t go on any hunts, okay?”
“Okay.” Kara playfully nudged Lena and they clinked their beer bottles together and drank until Alex fetched them to go back inside.
It was halfway through Kara’s first semester when they realized the strain the distance and the hunting had on their relationship. Even though it broke their hearts, the breakup was mutual. Kara’s workload was getting heavier and the monsters were becoming more dangerous on Lena’s end.
When there were mysterious killings on campus of students with their blood being drained and bite marks on their necks, well, no one had to know it was Kara who stopped the killings.
Kara went on to live the college experience and had a blast. She had shoved the past two years into the back of her head and focused on the present and future. In her last year, she had managed to snag a job at CatCo as Cat Grant’s assistant. Her classes were all early in the morning so she would eat lunch then head over. The job tested her each and every day, but Kara was thankful for her training as a hunter. She would rather take on a pack of werewolves than deal with Ms. Grant when something went wrong (which was at least twice a week).
Once she graduated and worked full time, she made some good friends. Winn Schott who was a nerdy IT guy, and James Olsen who worked in the photography department and was a friend of Clark’s. Everything was going great until Alex showed up.
“Increased activity how?” Kara settled on asking once she managed to get her head out of the past.
“A lot of demons have been prowling around and Lena’s been obsessed with it for some reason. Saying she’s close to figuring something out, but I don’t know. I could never read her as well as you could and we’ve been apart for a while now. Anyways. Are you coming? I wanna get going before the trail goes cold.”
“Yes, of course I’m coming. I’ve got to talk to Ms. Grant first.” Kara dragged her sister to her desk and asked her to wait. She walked into the office tentatively and waited for her boss to look at her.
“What is it, Kiera? I’m busy,” she snapped.
Kara pushed her glasses up (she didn’t need them but it helped with her ‘innocent girl’ look) and cleared her throat. “I need to leave and take the rest of the week off. There’s a family emergency.”
Cat stopped typing and looked at her assistant. “It’s Tuesday, Kiera. You can’t leave on such short notice.”
“I realize that, Ms. Grant, but it’s truly an emergency. Lives are at stake.”
“Lives are always at stake. You can leave tomorrow.”
Kara didn’t have time for this. Lena was missing and she needed to be out there looking for her! “Ms. Grant with all due respect, it is urgent I leave as soon as possible. My family is at risk and she needs me,” she emphasized. Even if they were broken up and hadn’t actually seen each other in years, Lena was still one of the most important people in her life.
“Very well. Send Mr. Gomez in.” Kara nodded gratefully and started hurrying out of the office. “And Kara, I hope you find her.”
“Thank you, Ms. Grant.” She grabbed Alex’s arm and started to drag her out of the building. “Let’s stop by my apartment real quick to grab some clothes and snacks. Jericho isn’t too far from here, we can still make it before nightfall.”
“God, you have an apartment?” Alex smiled at her little sister. “And a steady job. And you graduated from college. I am so proud of you.” She gave the blonde a side hug.
“Yep.”
Alex pulled out her keys and unlocked a car. It was black with red accents. “1965 Ford Mustang,” she announced proudly. “Won in it a gamble with some other hunters. Lena helped me fix her up. She’s amazingly good with cars. I’m pretty sure she could disassemble and reassemble the Impala with her eyes closed.”
“She does love that car,” Kara agreed. Though, she loved watching Lena work on her baby. Her biceps flexing as she fixed whatever was inside the hood, the sweat dripping down her brow, the grease smudging her face when she would try and wipe it away, the- Woah. “I sure hope we’ll be back by Monday. I stood up to Cat Grant, and I don’t think she’s very happy with me right now.”
Alex laughed. “You’ve always had a big pair on you. Now tell me where to go so we can go save our girl.”
“Right!”
Little did Kara know that she was not only getting herself back in the game, but she was diving headfirst into what could be the start of the apocalypse.
