Nervous beginnings
Alessia Russo x reader
Prompt: "I'm not letting you sleep on the couch."
Summary: Alessia invites you to stay over the night at her apartment.
Word count: 3.2k
The afternoon training was done and you walked out of the building, with your bag slung over your shoulder. You started to walk to the parking lot, but someone tapped you on your shoulder. Startled, you spun around and you were met with Alessia, who had a nervous look written all over her face.
You have always known that Alessia knew what she wanted, so seeing her so nervous in front of you, worried you. You looked down and saw Alessia her hands trembling lightly at her side and you tilted your head, but Alessia looked down at the ground. You just waited patiently, until Alessia would say something.
The silence stretched a bit longer, but then Alessia met your eyes. She cleared her throat, taking a deep breath before speaking.  “I-” Alessia started, but her voice faltered just as quickly. You studied her for a brief moment, before she parted her lips again. “I- I wanted to say- I mean, euhmm- ask something.”
Alessia stuttered, her cheeks going red from embarrassment and looked down at the ground. You hold back a laugh, because you had never thought that you would see “the” Alessia Russo flustered. “And what is that?” Alessia her head shot up at your question, her cheeks less red than before.
Alessia let out a breath, hoping to calm her nerves. “Would you like to come over at my place later?” The question left Alessia her lips, before she could even think about it. You looked surprised back at her. You had expected everything, but not that. The silence that followed was deafening and Alessia realized that it was a stupid question.
The truth was, Alessia has liked you as long as she can remember. The two of you could always find a subject to talk about, whether it was about football, food, music or even a bird that would fly by, when the team would be walking through the city.
Alessia met your gaze and saw the surprised look in your eyes, but to her it felt like a rejection, because you hadn’t said anything after her question. “You know, you don’t have to, but we- we could, I don’t know, watch a dumb movie with popcorn and drinks. Or we could play boardgames, you know or just chill.” Alessia rambled, giving you no space to interrupt her. Alessia continued her ramble and you shook your head with a smile tugged at your lips.
“Or we could-” Alessia continued, but you took a step closer, cutting her off. “Lessi, breathe.” Alessia looked up at her nickname that all the other teammates call her. Alessia let out an exhale, already knowing your answer to her question and looked down at the ground again. “I would love to come over.” You said softly and with a light smile. Alessia met your eyes again and you saw the relief in the light blue eyes of the striker. “Y-you would?” You let out a light chuckle and nodded.
“Yes, and we could watch that ridiculous movie you always talk about.” You teased and saw Alessia her cheeks go light pink, but she let out a laugh. “Pitch perfect is a great comfort movie.” You shook your head, because you pretty much know how the movie goes. Alessia always talked about it and you had to admit, it was kind of cute when she did.
“So, let’s go?” You asked with a smile and met Alessia her gaze. A smile appeared on Alessia’s lips and she nodded while she picked up her bag from the ground. The two of you reached the parking lot and somehow, you had your cars parked right next to each other. Alessia turned to you, leaning against her car.
“Here, my address.” You felt your phone buzz in your pocket and you took your phone, only to see a message from Alessia on your screen. You put your phone back into your pocket and turned to your car. You felt Alessia her eyes on you when you turned around, a light smile tugged at your lips. “I’ll see you in a few minutes.” You said, after you had put your bag in the trunk of your car. Alessia nodded with a smile and opened the door of her car, and slid behind the steering wheel.
You watched how Alessia started her car and drove off the parking lot. You stepped in your car as well and followed the navigations of your phone, until you had arrived and parked your car in the parking lot of Alessia her apartment complex. You stepped out of the car and noticed the sky was not clear anymore. Grey clouds had filled the blue clear sky from earlier. You headed to the entrance, after you had locked your car. After a few seconds, you had entered the building and stood in front of Alessia her apartment door.
You knocked on the door and after a few seconds, you heard the door unlock and open. Alessia stood at the door and stepped aside to let you in. You took off your shoes and hung up your jacket, while Alessia closed the door behind you. You turned you head towards the room, it was cozy, mostly white furniture. “It’s nice.” Alessia let out a light laugh and walked towards the kitchen.
You followed her and leaned with your hands on the counter when you reached it. Alessia was busy in the cabinets and your eyes followed her every movement. “Thanks for coming over, I love it when I can have people over.” Alessia said, still looking through the cabinets. “Ohh, so I’m not the first?” You teased and you heard Alessia crack a chuckle, and turned to you to meet your gaze. “You’re not as special as you think y/l/n.” You held up your hands in a mocking surrender and Alessia turned to cabinets again.
You saw how much more at ease Alessia was here, in her own home. Alessia faced the cabinets, but her cheeks burned and were red. “You want tea?” Alessia asked and turned around, hoping that her cheeks weren’t red anymore. You caught the light red on her cheeks, but didn’t comment on it and you just nodded “yes” to her question. Alessia turned the kettle on and turned herself to you.
“You want to stay for dinner?” Alessia asked, before she could even stop herself from asking it. The question caught you off guard, but you still agreed. Alessia turned herself to the kettle and poured the hot water into the mugs and handed you one. Your fingers brushed for a split second, sending a jolt down both your spines.
Later that evening, the two of you stood in the kitchen. Ready to destroy Alessia’s her well cleaned kitchen. “Are you sure that we will not destroy your kitchen?” You teased as you leaned with your lower back against the counter, while Alessia was still setting a few ingredients down.
“I mean, how bad could it be?” You raised an eyebrow, because you could name a hundred things that could go wrong with Alessia in the kitchen. She is, in fact, the clumsiest person you have ever met. You sighed and shook your head with a light smile, but eventually pushed yourself from the counter, joining Alessia on the other side of the kitchen.
“Alright, what are we making?” Alessia looked at you with a recipe of spaghetti in her and you took it, and started to read the text. “Homemade spaghetti, it’s very easy.” You wanted to nod, but Alessia her voice came again. “I think.” You met her eyes, that sparked with mischief and you nodded in disbelief. “Just so you know, I’ll blame you, if your kitchen isn’t recognizable anymore.” Alessia laughed and took the recipe from your hand.
Your fingers brushed again, longer and slower this time. You tried to keep your composure, but the feeling in your stomach betrayed you. “Lets get started, shall we?” Alessia said with a smile and you nodded. “Do you have a bowl for the flour?” You asked and turned to Alessia, who had a shocked look on her face. “What?” Alessia heard the confusion in your voice.
“We’ll make the dough on the counter, just like the real Italian’s.” Alessia stated and your confusion only grew. “Lessi, we aren’t Italian.” You said with a chuckle, but Alessia her gaze shifted to serious. “I’m half Italian, I’ll let you know.” Your shot your head up, meeting Alessia her gaze, because you didn’t know that.
“Okay, counter it is.” You said with a smile and Alessia took the flour and opened it. Alessia poured half the flour of the package on the counter. You started to walk to the sink, so you could get water for the flour, but Alessia took your wrist gently.
“Nope, no water.” You raised an eyebrow in confusion, because how would you make the dough then? Alessia let go of your wrist and walked to the counter. Alessia turned around with eggs and oil in her hands, but before she could say anything, you threw the flour of the package in her face.
Alessia her mouth fell open in disbelief and you couldn’t hold your laughter. “You did not just-” Alessia gasped and put the eggs and oil down. “I think I did and it was funny” You said with a teasing and amused smirk, while Alessia whipped the flour from her face. Without a warning, Alessia took a handful of flour and threw it at you.
You tried to duck away, but your face was still covered in flour. You huffed with a smile and had now two hands full with flour. “Russo, it’s on.” Alessia widened her eyes and ran around the kitchen, while the laughter of you two filled the quiet apartment. You threw the flour from one hand against the back of Alessia her head, which in return Alessia threw flour straight in your face.
You coughed and wiped the flour away with the sleeve of your sweater and you heard Alessia laugh hysterically. Out of nowhere, you stepped forwards and took Alessia her wrist and spun her around. Alessia her back was pressed against your body and your other hand with flour was now in front of her face.
“No, no, no, wait!” Alessia shrieked and turned her head into your shoulder. Alessia tried to get out of your hold, but you didn’t budge. “This is not fair! There is literally nowhere for me to escape!” Alessia defended herself and you only smirked. “That’s kind of the point, isn’t it?” You whispered low in Alessia her ear and before Alessia could duck away, you threw the flour in her face.
Alessia grunted and you let her go, so she could wipe her face clean. “Sei incredibile” Alessia muttered, but she couldn’t help the small smile tugged at her lips. You raised an eyebrow in amusement, because Alessia just spoke Italian.
“Did you- did you just curse me out in Italian?” You tilted your head with an amused smile and you crossed your arms loosely in front of your chest. “Maybe or maybe not.” Alessia said and met your eyes. She nodded in disbelief, because you looked too amused about what you just did.
“I was just defending myself from your flour attack.” You said, like you read Alessia her mind. “Defending yourself? You were the one who fired the first shot!” Alessia shot back and you could only chuckle at how high Alessia her voice was, when she said it. “Okay, how about a truce? So we can continue on with our dinner?” You offered and nodded to the counter.
Alessia sighed and nodded in agreement, and the two of you moved to the counter. The two of you worked in a synced rhythm, your shoulders brushing lightly every now and then. “What did you say in Italian, when I threw the flour in your face?” Alessia shot you a look, because she heard the amusement in your voice at the last part. “That you were unbelievable.” Alessia muttered with a smile, while she rolled the dough flat.
You took a knife and cut the dough in thin lines, while Alessia moved to the stove and started on the sausage. “Were you born in Italy or here in England?” You asked when Alessia had joined your side again. “I was born here, but my grandfather and grandmother live in Italy. I visited them last year, because it was my grandmother's birthday.” You nodded and felt something warm go through your body, because you knew that Alessia couldn’t visit them a lot, because of her football schedule.
“They’re lucky to have you as a granddaughter.” Alessia looked at you and a smile started to form on her lips. “Thanks, that means a lot.” She mumbled with a smile and walked to the stove with the cut stripes of dough. “The sausage smells nice.” Alessia turned to you and saw you sniff with your nose. Alessia laughed softly, because you looked like a dog sniffing new territory.
After dinner, the two of you had settled on the couch. You in fact did watch Pitch perfect and to your own surprise, you enjoyed it more than you thought you would. You sat there on the couch next to Alessia and you turned your attention to the window, when you heard rain drops hitting the window.
The trees rustled because of the hard wind, hitting every now and then against the glass. You knew that it would be raining later in the night, but this seems a bit excessive. Your thoughts were interrupted by a warm hand finding yours, the thumb tracing light circles on the back of your hand. You stared down at your hand and Alessia her fingers had interlocked with yours.
You felt a familiar warmth go through your body at Alessia her touch and small smile was found on your lips. You looked up, only to see that Alessia was already staring at you. Without thinking, Alessia her free hand moved to your face and put a strand of hair out of your face and behind your ear. Alessia her fingers stayed there at the side of your face. You saw something flicker in her eyes, hesitation maybe, you couldn’t tell.
“What?” You asked softly, barely in a whisper, but Alessia caught it. “Nothing. Just thinking about something that I want to do.” You shifted and sat up straight, Alessia her hand falling automatically to your shoulder. “You? Thinking? That’s dangerous.” You teased and received a chuckle from Alessia. When Alessia her chuckles quieted down, the two of you were closer, closer than before.
You tightened your fingers around Alessia’s, her eyes flickering from yours to your lips. You barely caught the subtle movements from her eyes, but you did. You shifted again, your shoulders brushing against Alessia’s, who’s eyes never left yours. With your fingers still interlocked, Alessia pulled you closer and her eyes flickered again from your eyes to your mouth and back.
Your breath got caught in your throat, when Alessia moved her head just a bit forwards.“You should stay the night, the weather is not good to be driving around.” She whispered barely above a whisper. Your eyes looked at the window behind Alessia. The rain drops hitting the window harder than just now and the branches of the trees hitting the window harder.
“It’s no problem. In the Netherlands I had worse to drive through.” You whispered back. You didn’t know why you were whispering, but you did. “It wasn’t a question.” You let her words settle and looked down at your still intertwined hands. Alessia lifted your head with her finger, so your eyes were locked on each other.
“Tell me if I’m wrong.” Alessia said under her breath and leaned in, just close enough so you could feel each other breath, your lips almost brushing against each other. You felt your own heart beating against your chest. You were sure that Alessia could hear your heart beating so fast, because you could. Your eyes met, but you closed them and leaned in for a soft kiss, it was barely there.
Alessia her hand that rested on your shoulder, moved to the back of your neck, pulling you closer into the kiss as the kiss deepened. Your own free hand rested on Alessia her waist, the only thing keeping you grounded at the moment.
The world around you faded away, the rain drops and the branches against the window, only became a distant sound in the background. In the moment, it was only you and Alessia, your mouths still deep in the kiss. Alessia finally pulled back, resting her forehead against yours, her thumb tracing your jaw. You both were breathless from the kiss and your breaths mingled with each other.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that.” Alessia breathed out and met your eyes. Truth was, you have been wanting to do that for so long as well. “I’m glad you did.” Alessia’s breath caught, realizing that you wanted this as well.
“I’m staying the night and I’ll take the couch, if you want.” You said and pulled back. “I’m not letting you sleep on the couch. Not after what just took place.” Alessia whispered and was now brushing her thumb against your cheek. You could only nod and rested your hand on her chest, feeling her steady heartbeat under the palm of your hand.
“We should head to bed. It’s getting pretty late.” Alessia whispered in your ear and looked at the clock behind you on the wall. Alessia reached for the remote and turned off the TV, where pitch perfect was still being played, but neither of you were really paying attention to the last minutes that were played. Alessia pushed herself off from the couch and held out her hand, which you took.
She pulled you off the couch and interlocked your fingers immediately when you stood next to her. The two of you walked out of the living room, only to turn to the kitchen, where remains of the flour war was still evident. “You really made a mess, Lessi.” Alessia snapped her head to you and looked offended, because you ‘both’ were in on the war of flour throwing, not only Alessia.
“huh, may I remind you, that you fired the first throw, not me.” Alessia scoffed with a laugh and you looked back at her, completely innocent. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Alessia nodded her head and rolled her eyes, even though there was no annoyance behind it. “C’mon miss innocent, before I do let you sleep on the couch.” You placed a hand on your heart in a mocking way, pretending you got hurt.
The two of you reached the bedroom, Alessia handed you a sweater and sweatpants to sleep in. You headed to the bathroom and changed, while Alessia settled herself in bed. “How tall are you?” Alessia looked up and saw you standing in a way oversized sweater. A laugh escaped Alessia her lips, while you walked to the bed.
Once you had settled next to her, Alessia her hand found yours. She intertwined your fingers together and you moved closer, so you could rest your head on her chest. “Goodnight, Lessi.” “Goodnight, miss innocent.” Alessia mumbled and the two of you drifted off to sleep, your fingers still intertwined with each other.

It’s one of those perfect mid-October afternoons, where the world feels saturated in shades of orange, gold, and muted greens. The air is fresh with a slight bite of chill carried by the autumn breeze.
Alessia sat in the passenger seat of the car beside you, practically bouncing in her spot as you pulled up to the pumpkin patch.
When you had suggested this as a date Alessia was quick to agree, planning the whole day in her mind within seconds.
Finding a space and putting the car in park, you smile at Alessia before getting out and walking to her side, opening the door for her.
Alessia thanked you as she got out and pressed a gentle kiss against your cheek before heading to the boot of the car to get her coat. Once the two of you were wrapped up warm, you took Alessia by the hand and walked towards the entrance.
The pumpkin patch stretched out like a golden canvas beneath a pale, overcast sky. Soft, dappled sunlight filtered through the thinning branches of towering trees, casting long shadows on the ground.
Rows of pumpkins of all sizes dotted the field, their vibrant orange contrasting with the rough brown soil. Some were smooth and perfectly round, while others were lopsided or covered in twisting stems - each one unique in its own way.
Along the edges of the field, old wooden fences, weathered and grey, line the pumpkin patch, while hay bales were stacked in small clusters, offering spots for families and couples to sit and take photos.
The ground was strewn with dried leaves that crunch softly underfoot as you walked side by side with Alessia, the wind occasionally lifting a few into the air, sending them swirling in a lazy dance.
Your shoes left firm imprints in the soft dirt as you weave through the patch, the ends of your hair fluttering in the wind. Alessia came to a halt and kneeled to inspect a massive pumpkin, turning it in her hands before lifting it effortlessly. Her smile was infectious, wide and carefree, like the sun breaking through clouds.
“You like that one?” you questioned, watching as Alessia inspected the pumpkin carefully.
Alessia nodded, her smile expanding broadly. She looked back down at her pumpkin and made sure she held it tightly.
“Do you want me to carry it?” you asked with your own smile forming on your face.
“I’m okay,” Alessia said, appreciating your offer.
The two of you continue your walk around the pumpkin patch as you desperately try to find the one for you. Alessia pointed out a few but they weren’t what you had in mind.
Making your way deeper into the pumpkin patch, the rows of pumpkins seemed to stretch in every direction, a sea of orange, yellow and even speckled green. You would stop occasionally, bending down to pick up a pumpkin, feeling its weight, brushing off the bits of soil clinging to its bumpy surface.
Picking up a particularly small, round pumpkin, you smile and hold it up so Alessia could see.
“It’s the perfect size,” you teased, securing it in your arms.
Alessia chuckles and shakes her head, resting her cheek on your shoulder as she looks down at the pumpkin you had chosen.
“The bigger the better,” Alessia played along, gesturing to her pumpkin.
“At least mine has character,” you said smugly.
“Mine is definitely the winner, perfectly round, no weird bumps. I could go on,” Alessia said competitively.
“That’s the winner?” you scoffed with a grin. “As if.”
“What?” Alessia said, pouting teasingly. “Don’t have an argument to back your pumpkin up?”
“Mine speaks for itself,” you shrug, looking at your pumpkin proudly.
“It looks like it’s already  been through Halloween and back!” Alessia said, unable to hold in her laugh. “Mine’s classic, sleek - it’s practically a pumpkin model.”
“Yours is too perfect,” you said with mock seriousness “No personality. My pumpkin has stories to tell. This stem alone - look at that! It’s like it’s been through the pumpkin apocalypse.”
“Mmm, Alessia hummed, tilting her head to examine your pumpkin. “I’ll give you the stem. But mine will have the perfect face for carving. Yours might end up looking like it’s melting.”
“Only because it’ll have the most expressive face!” you grinned. “Yours is too symmetrical - it’s going to be boring.”
Alessia couldn’t contain her laughter any more as she stood beside you. She held up her pumpkin next to yours and compared them.
“What if we make a deal?” Alessia proposed. “We each carve our pumpkins tonight and we’ll let our dog decide who’s looks best.”
“Deal,” you said, smirking. “But don’t get mad when Bear chooses mine.”
“Please, he’s going straight to mine without second thought,” Alessia said, scoffing.
The two of you exchange competitive but lighthearted glances, knowing it’s all in good fun before continuing their search through the patch, joking about which pumpkins would make the most ridiculous or impressive carvings.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm, amber hue over the pumpkin patch, the two of you made your way to the checkout area with your pumpkins nestled carefully in your arms.
At the small wooden booth near the entrance, the cashier greets you both with a friendly smile. You let Alessia place her pumpkin down first before you place yours with exaggerated effort.
“You two have some great picks there,” the cashier said with a smile. “Going to do some carving tonight?”
“Oh, definitely,” Alessia grinned. “We’ve got a competition going - best carved pumpkin wins bragging rights for the whole season.”
“Not that I’ll need the bragging rights, since mine’s obviously going to win,” you said cockily.
The cashier laughs, handing the receipt to you after a brief exchange of payment. You both thank the cashier, and with pumpkins in hand, head toward their car.
The gravel crunches underfoot as you approach the car, and after a bit of manoeuvring, you carefully secure your pumpkins in the back. Double checking the seat belt around your pumpkin, you hum happily before sitting in the driver's seat.
“Is that necessary?” Alessia teased, waiting for you to start the car.
“Obviously,” you grinned, turning on the ignition.
Pulling out of the car parking space, you begin to make your way home. Golden fields and trees turning shades of orange and yellow flash past as you drive through the country roads.
The windows are slightly cracked, letting in the fresh, cool air as a playlist of Alessia’s choice fills the car.
“So, are you ready to lose tonight?” you said, glancing over at Alessia with a smirk.
“You keep telling yourself that,” Alessia grinned, looking out at the road ahead. “I’ve got the perfect design in mind.”
“Let me guess,” you said teasingly, “something pretty and perfectly symmetrical?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Alessia laughed. “Yours is probably going to end up with mismatched eyes or a crooked smile.”
“It adds personality,” you shrug, glancing over at Alessia again.
“Yours is going to look like it got hit by a tractor,” Alessia added playfully.
“Hey!” you said in faux hurt. “You didn’t mean that.”
Alessia laughed once more as you continued to drive. The drive through the countryside was serene, with the orange and red hues of the sunset fading into purples and blues, the soft glow of headlights lighting up the road ahead.
The car smells faintly of apples, hay, and damp earth, a lingering reminder of their afternoon in the pumpkin patch. Alessia leant her head against the window, watching the landscape blur while you hummed along to a song with your hand resting casually on the wheel.
The trees along the way seem to catch the last light of day, glowing in rich, warm tones. It’s peaceful, and the teasing back and forth between you two only adds to the cosy, playful atmosphere.
Finally turning onto your road, the lights of nearby houses begin to twinkle on, and you begin to imagine the mess of pumpkin guts and seeds that awaits you both once you start carving.
The moment Alessia opens the front door, your dog, Bear, bounds over to greet you both. It was clear that he had been waiting eagerly for you two to return, ears perked and nose sniffing curiously at the pumpkins you carried inside.
You bring the pumpkins inside, setting them down on the kitchen table with a thud before going to get a couple of carving tools from a drawer and lay them out neatly on the table.
“Hey, Bear,” you laugh, kneeling down to pet him. “Did you miss us?”
“I think he’s more interested in those pumpkins than us,” Alessia chuckled, leaning against the counter.
Bear, still wagging his tail, sniffs at the pumpkins eagerly as if trying to figure out what new game you’d brought home for him. His eyes sparkled with curiosity, and he nosed at the table as though offering to help.
“You think you can carve, too?” you asked Bear teasingly. “Maybe we should’ve gotten him a mini pumpkin to work on.”
“He would’ve ended up eating it,” Alessia laughed, giving Bear a playful scratch behind the ears.
A few candles flicker in the background, casting a warm glow around the room. The air smells faintly of cinnamon from a candle burning on the counter, and the windows reveal the darkening evening outside, with the sky now a deep shade of twilight.
Two large bowls sit nearby, one for you and the other for Alessia to put the pumpkin seeds and guts the two of you’ll scoop out.
“Alright, no backing out now,” Alessia teased as she tied her hair back.
“May the best pumpkin win,” you smile, picking up your knife of choice.
With a laugh, you both dig in, starting by cutting around the tops of their pumpkins. The scraping sound of knives cutting through thick pumpkin skin fills the air, along with the occasional groan or playful complaint.
After a bit of effort, you both pull off the tops of their pumpkins, revealing the stringy, gooey insides. Alessia scrunches her nose a little but dives in, scooping out handfuls of seeds and pulp, tossing them into the bowl.
“This part is always so gross,” Alessia said, wiping her hands on a tea towel.
“Forfeiting already?” you asked teasingly.
“You wish,” Alessia said, going back into her pumpkin.
Bear watched intently, his head tilted as you and Alessia scooped out the pumpkin guts, clearly interested in the new smells filling the room.
“What do you think, Bear,” you said, pretending to offer him a handful of pumpkin guts. “Want to help us clean up?”
Bear sniffed at the stringy pulp, but quickly backed away, wrinkling his nose in distaste, earning a laugh from you and Alessia.
“I guess that’s a no,” Alessia grinned.
You both work in relative silence for a bit, the sounds of squishing pumpkin innards and scraping echoing through the room, interspersed with the occasional playful comment.
Once the pumpkins were hollowed out, you moved on to the carving part. The two of you hunched over your respective pumpkins with intense concentration.
Bear settled at your feet, laying down but keeping a close eye on the action. Every so often, he’d lift his head, watching intently as you both carve, especially when pieces of pumpkin hit the floor. You’d toss him small bits to nibble on, but mostly he seemed content just to be part of the fun.
Alessia’s lines were neat and precise as she carved with care, creating a symmetrical, classic jack-o’-lantern face with sharp, triangular eyes and a toothy grin. You, on the other hand, were freehanding your design, occasionally stepping back to check the progress. Your lines were a bit more erratic, but you clearly enjoyed the process.
“Is that supposed to be a smile?” Alessia asked, glancing over at your pumpkin. “It looks more of a grimace.”
“It’s a smile with attitude,” you grin. “Besides, personality wins.”
“Well,” Alessia said with mock seriousness. “Personality isn’t going to save you when mine is clearly superior.”
“We’ll see,” you said, leaning back to admire your work.
After a while, you both finish carving, stepping back to admire your creations. Alessia’s pumpkin is almost picture-perfect with symmetrical, clean lines and an evenly carved smile and eyes.
Yours is a bit more lopsided, with one eye larger than the other and a mischievous, crooked grin.
“Mine’s definitely the better one,” Alessia said, crossing her arms with a proud grin.
“Yours is too perfect,” you chuckle. “At least mine has character.”
“Character my ass,” Alessia grumbled playfully.
“What was that?” you teased, leaning closer to Alessia.
“Keep those hands away,” Alessia laughed, dodging your pumpkin gut covered hands with a mock glare.
Moving towards the drawer, you pull out two tea light candles and hand one to Alessia. Together, you light the small candles and place them inside before turning off the lights. The room was instantly filled with a soft, flickering glow as the candles illuminated their designs.
“Okay, I’ll admit yours looks better in the dark,” Alessia said, gazing at hers with a smile. “But mine still looks the best.”
“That’s all I needed to hear,” you smile, wrapping your arm around Alessia’s waist. “Mine wins in the dark and everyone knows that’s the true test.”
“Bear still hasn’t decided yet,” Alessia said. resting her cheek on your shoulder.
“Let’s see shall we?” you smile, taking the candle out of your pumpkin and placing it on the floor whilst Alessia did the same.
You turn back on the lights and see Bear watching the pumpkins with quiet fascination. You stand beside Alessia and watch Bear quietly as he sniffed the pumpkins curiously.
He takes a longer sniff at Alessia’s and sits down in front of it, nuzzling his nose through the pumpkins carved out mouth.
“See,” Alessia said with a triumphant grin. “Bear thinks mine is the best.”
You let out a small huff and hang your head in defeat, accepting your fate before you hear a crunch. Looking back up, Bear seemed to be eating something but it wasn’t a pumpkin.
Gasping, you turn to Alessia in shock, “You cheat!”
“Hm?” Alessia hummed with a grin. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You hid a treat inside your pumpkin!” you said, crossing your arms.
“No,” Alessia drawled teasingly. “I’d never.”
“You’re lucky I love you,” you chuckle, pulling her in by that waist and placing a delicate kiss on her lips.
The two of you part at the sound of Bears whining and you kneel down to give him some kisses too.
“I love you too, Bear,” you smile.
Getting back to your feet, you and Alessia head to the living room with Bear hot on your heels. You both settle down on the sofa, wrapping a blanket around you for extra warmth as Bear rested his head on your thigh.
Alessia turned on the t.v and flicked through Netflix trying to find something to watch before deciding on ‘Beetlejuice’. Pressing play on the movie, the two of you cuddle up together with Alessia resting her head on your shoulder, feeling the steady rise and fall of your breathing.
Feeling left out, Bear pawed at your hand causing you to chuckle softly and begin to stroke through his fur. Letting out a content sigh, Bear watched you and Alessia, clearly satisfied with his role as the evening’s honorary pumpkin-carving companion.

Alpha Alessia x Omega Leah General HCs -
Tumblr media
Alessia Coming to Arsenal -
Obviously they knew eachother from England camps
Obviously the attraction was there
But it wasn’t until lessis first week at arsenal that things really happened.
Leah was all needy and needed something someone
But everyone who usually helped her just seemed so blah
Then lessi was training particularly hard and sweated of her scent patch and WOAH
Leah’s eyes snapped to her so so so fucking fast and she was just dragging her away
Getting Together -
Sex. Thats how they got together.
Sex that happened in the back seat of alessia’s car
Hot, needy, messy, intense sex
Just lessi clapping leahs cheeks in doggy
They are just lucky that lessi had a nee pack of condoms in that car.
General Relationship Fluff -
Soft soft soft babys
So loving with eachother.
Lessi cooks and leah sits on the counter, not ti eat the cut offs because shes so picky but just to get kisses
Lessi caters to leah’s 4 year old pallet without complaint
Leah just looks so cute chomping on her potato smileys
Alessia does anything leah needs
Without her asking
Like she sees it, she does it.
She drives leah around, Leahs her passenger princess
Without complaint.
Morning with them are always difficult
Neither wants to get up so they are cuddling and kissing while they lay there
Eventually one of them pulls the other up and into the shower.
Lessi is always putting leah on her lap and nuzzling into her
Always sharing clothes.
Leah never admits it but when alessia was away for a while when leah did her acl and was recovering. she was in lessis old man u or unc gear
Just pouting her little pout missing her gf
So many sessions of playfull rough housing.
Heats & Ruts -
They are synced up
If ones in heat the other is in rut and vice versa
They are both so needy during this time
Noone can contact them they are just pound mf town
Rough sex or soft sex it doesnt matter they are going for hourrrrrs

Leah’s Nesting -
Leah nesting for the first time at Alessia’s was cute
They were planning a movie night and lessi nipped down to put in the potato smileys and start the pasta and came back to her room looking different
A pile of cussions and hoodies and pillows in the corner on a make shift mattress and a pouty leah saying “wrong”
Leah was just so cute right there lessi almost died.
The next day they got propper nesting supplies and did it right.
Alessia’s Denning -
She didnt originally have a den at leah’s
She didnt really need it
Leah wanted her to have one though
She wanted to make sure lessi was comfortable with her properly
She just bought a loud of stuff and set up her den in the living room
They fuck in it alot
Then they fuck in leahs nest
Pregnant!Leah -
When she found out she was pregnant she was purring like crazy
Just running to alessia and telling her the news.
Alessia cried.
She was always just as happy
The two were clinging to each other rumbling and purring all day.
Pregnant Leah always rubs at her bump when she looks at lessi like shes saying “thats ur mama”
The pup ALWAYS kicks when lessi is playing or an arsenal game is on
Shes always talking to the bump about them being england and arsenals next big player.
Ofc lessi sooooo does the lifting the bump thing.
Lessi would do the cooking a dish based on the babys size trend but leah wouldn’t eat it so instead she lets leah know the size as she kisses the bump
Ofc leahs sex drive is high too but lessis so so so scared to hurt them that she just eats her out.
Pup Stuff -
Mama lessi and mummy leah are such doting loving parents to their son.
Just always at there kids events
When the pup is young they spend afternoons at the training ground and often take naps in the nest there
That pup is raised as an arsenal supporter
Lessi failed the rock paper scissors so their next pup, a daughter, is man united through and through.
Much to her mama and auntie mary n ellas love.
Their son is a perfect mix of them, with leahs smile and now with lessis laugh and lessis eyes
Their daughter though is a mini lessi completely.
The last pregnancy was so tough on leah tho that lessi got a vasectomy
They plan to adopt tho

Our Day - Alessia Russo/Reader
prompt: Alessia and R get married.
words: 4637
warnings: none
Tumblr media
(Y/N) POV
“You going to tell me what’s up with you now?”
Of course, Alessia had picked up that something was wrong with me on the drive back to our place. I swore that Alessia knew me better than myself; she certainly knew how to read me better than my family did.
But she wasn’t completely out of line. Normally, when she picked me up from the airport after I returned from a national team camp, I had stories to tell her about everything I had gotten up to either during practice or in my free time with Sonnett and Rose since they were the two that I was usually spotted hanging out with since neither Christen nor Ali had been called up in a while. But I had been completely silent the whole ride home and even as we headed inside.
I looked over my shoulder at Alessia as she shut the door behind her. I didn’t say anything to her, but I did hold my arms out to her. I melted into Alessia’s arms as soon as they wrapped around me. Nor did I hesitate to jump up to wrap my legs around Alessia’s waist as she moved her arms to hook them under my thighs so she could carry me.
“I just really want cuddles right now,” I softly said.
Alessia wasn’t one to deny me cuddles. I don’t think she had ever denied me cuddles since our freshman year at UNC.
We were in our room and in our bed under the covers in no time. I immediately curled up against Alessia. This was exactly what I needed after how the end of my trip home had turned out.
The two of us stayed there as we just took each other’s presence in. I had really missed having Alessia with me.
“Did you end up going to see your family?”
I nodded because I hadn’t actually decided if I was going to the family BBQ my parents had been hosting until that day. It had also been the first time since Alessia and I had decided to join the WSL that I had been to see my family by myself.
Alessia had quickly learned just how bad my relationship with my family was once we started dating. I had been hesitant about taking her to meet my parents because I was sure that they were going to have a lot of backhanded comments either about myself or Alessia. I hadn’t been wrong. The amount of comments they had made about me had concerned Alessia enough that she had asked me about it once they finally left after one of our home games at UNC.
I had to explain to Alessia how growing up with my younger sister meant that everything I had done was never enough in my parents’ eyes. If I had better grades than my sister? How dare I make her feel bad about herself for setting unreal expectations. I won the World Cup in 2015 just before I turned 16? I was on the bench for most of it whereas my sister had managed to make the cheerleading squad while I was gone. I got a full ride to go to the University of North Carolina between my grades and my soccer scholarship? Good because they had to save up so my sister could have a college fund just in case she wanted to go, so they weren’t going to help me if I didn’t have it covered by scholarships.
Spoiler alert: she never did want to go to college, so our parents just handed her the money for her to blow through as she pleased. None of us were entirely sure what happened to all the money, we just knew that she had already used it all up without investing it into anything.
After I won my second World Cup in 2019, my sister had been so upset that so much attention had been paid to me from so many people who knew my family that I had gotten scolded as soon as I had gotten to my parents’ house once we got back from France.
That was the first time Alessia’s family had also realized how badly my own family treated me as they had been helping Alessia settle back into the apartment that the two of us shared with Lotte. I had called Alessia crying so she had made the eight-hour drive the next day to pick me up before taking me back with her to UNC. Alessia’s parents had assured me that should I ever need somewhere to go for holidays to avoid my family that I was always welcomed at theirs.
“Want to tell me what happened?”
“I hate her.”
“Eve?”
Really Alessia didn’t even have to ask who I was talking about. I nodded my head in confirmation though as I buried my face in Alessia’s neck. The blonde striker threaded one of her hands into my hair as she started to massage my scalp.
“What did she do this time?”
“She wants our wedding.”
Alessia froze at that. I had the same reaction when I found out as well.
“She wants to have the same exact wedding as us?”
I shook my head as I tried to keep the tears at bay. Alessia reached up with her hand that wasn’t threaded in my hair to wipe away the tears.
“She wants to literally take our wedding. The date, the venue, and all of our vendors. She wants us to give it to her,” I said, causing Alessia to pull me closer to her. “And my parents are taking her side. It’s supposed to be our day and they all just want us to give it up like we haven’t been planning this since the Euros.”
“It’s okay, love,” Alessia softly said. I buried my head into her neck again. “It will be our day. You think any of our teammates will let them ruin it?”
I shook my head. I wasn’t sure if our teammates were more excited about our wedding than we were or not. Honestly, hearing Tooney talking about it with Alessia always brought a smile to my face. Not to mention that my own teammates were great at making sure that I never got too overwhelmed with all of the decisions that Alessia and I had to make. I think Sonnett had been the most excited for it outside of my team moms, but I also think it had more to do with her wanting to finally officially meet Tooney after all of the stories she heard me talk about what Tooney and Lessi got up to.
Alessia just held me as I tried to calm down. She would often softly whisper reassurances that everything would be okay, and we would have our day. I wasn’t sure how long the two of us laid there wrapped in each other’s arms, but I did know that I would always have Alessia.
“Why did Eve want to take our wedding?” Alessia asked again to break the silence.
“She’s pregnant.”
“I didn’t even know that her and John got engaged.”
I hadn’t either. It was obvious that my parents had known because they didn’t seem surprised like the rest of the family had been when Eve announced that they would be getting married soon.
“She said she wanted it before she started showing and so she wouldn’t have the stress of planning a wedding while she was pregnant,” I explained. It made no sense of how her decision would be fair to Alessia and I who had to be strategic about planning our own wedding to make sure that it wouldn’t clash with our WSL schedule or the NWSL schedule. But we had to be careful to make sure that we wouldn’t miss any callups to our respective national teams, especially considering that a huge majority of the people who would be attending were on our national teams. “As if we wouldn’t have to wait until 2026. But none of them are using their brains. As if Eve and John would get everything prepared to be married here in England? And the trips that they would need to be planned? Not to mention the amount of people who have already made arrangements to be here for our wedding.”
“John was on board with the idea?”
I understood why Alessia was asking. John and I had actually gotten along quite well. Alessia had gotten along with him as well. He was probably the only reason we had originally invited Eve and John.
“No, he seemed hesitant when Eve brought it up,” I admitted. John did seem genuinely uncomfortable when Eve had turned to me and even asked her to sit down. “He texted me later on and said that Eve had talked to him about it earlier, but he didn’t agree with asking me since they knew just how much planning it took for us to make sure that everyone we wanted to be there could. He also explained that he didn’t think Eve was going to bring it up or he would have warned me.”
“What did your parents say?”
“My dad asked why it mattered where we got married when I brought up that if we wanted to use the same venue we’d have to wait until 2026. And my mom told me that it was selfish because we weren’t expecting a child.”
“Why should it matter where Eve and John have their wedding then?”
“That’s what I said!”
“And why exactly can’t they wait until after Eve gives birth?”
“I don’t know.”
Alessia pulled me back into her side. It was all just so frustrating that it seemed like everything they were asking of me didn’t apply to my sister as well.
“You know we can always uninvite them, right? And we’ll let security know so that they won’t be allowed into the wedding.”
I knew it would be the next logical step for us. And it would have to be one for us to pursue to make sure that our own wedding didn’t get ruined because my family favored my sister more than me.
“Don’t worry, love,” Alessia said before she pressed a kiss to the top of my head. “I’m going to make sure that no one ruins our day.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I couldn’t help but let out a laugh once Alessia’s head came up from the bowl that her head had been buried in. Her face was covered in the whipped cream that the bowl had been filled with, but she was the first out of the group to blow a bubble with the gum she had gotten from her bowl. She sent me a grin as I shook my head before I headed for the front door once I heard the knock. I was hoping that it was the delivery driver here with our pizzas finally.
Alessia and I had been so busy figuring out games and practicing and wrapping up the planning for our wedding that we both had forgotten to figure out what we were going to prepare for dinner for the team. It was Leah who suggested that we just order pizza for the team and neither of us were going to argue against pizza.
“How much do I owe‒”
The smile immediately dropped into a frown when I cut myself off when I realized who was on my doorstep.
“What are you doing here?” I asked. I didn’t miss the way the woman winced at my tone. “Did being uninvited to the wedding not convey the message enough?”
I pushed the two further out onto the porch so that my teammates wouldn’t have to hear any of this. They were all quite aware that something serious had happened while I was visiting my family in New York, but Alessia and I had been entirely forthcoming about the situation.
“(Y/N), we need to talk to you,” Mom said.
“No, you need to leave. I have guests over.” I couldn’t believe that this kind of a move from my parents surprised me this much. “I don’t want to see either of you unless you are going to sincerely apologize for trying to hijack my wedding so that Eve could have it.”
“You need to prioritize your family,” Dad said as he pointed at me. “We all have to make sacrifices for our family. And this is a sacrifice that you need to make for your sister.”
“Oh, we all have to make sacrifices?” I asked. I shook my head as I let out a laugh at the thought. “And please tell me what kind of sacrifices that Eve has ever made for me?”
Both of my parents stood there in silence, and I wasn’t surprised. I knew that Eve had never done anything for me. I knew that Eve would never do anything for me either.
“That’s what I thought. Because she’s never done anything for this family. I never had anything growing up except for soccer and I barely had that because Eve was so jealous of my success with the one thing that I really loved that you two nearly forbad me from playing,” I pointed out as I shoved my finger into my father’s chest. I was tired of letting my family step on me. “The amount of times I had to share my birthday with her when her own is in the winter and mine in the summer? All of my presents that you would get that were for her and never me? When does it all stop being about her? Because now I have my own wedding planned out and you want me to give it to her! So, when is it going to stop?”
“(Y/N), this really isn’t fair,” Mom pleaded. She wanted to talk about being fair? To me?
The door behind me opened and I tensed as I looked over my shoulder. The last thing I needed was for it to be one of my teammates, all of which I knew could get overprotective fast. But it was just Alessia, and she could get overprotective fast but at least she knew everything that was going on.
“You’re taking too long bringing the pizzas in,” Alessia said as she wiped at the whipped cream that was still on her face. I sighed as she looked up only to freeze when she realized why it was taking me so long. “Not pizzas. Much more understandable why it’s taking so long.”
“Oi, Russo! What’s taking the missus so long?” I groaned because the last thing I wanted to add to this was our team’s card leader. “Oh, I didn’t know we were having others over.”
“Macca, just go back inside,” Alessia said.
“Why? Is everything okay out here?” Katie asked.
I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose. While I normally appreciated how quick Katie was to befriend Alessia and protect the blonde striker, I really didn’t want to risk adding her to the dumpster fire of an argument that was about to happen on our porch.
“No, it’s not,” Mom said. My head whipped around as I glared at her. She hesitated as she fidgeted under the glare. “(Y/N) is being selfish and refusing to help family.”
“Oi, come one, (Y/L/N),” Katie said as she nudged me. I only groaned as pretty much the rest of our team had come to see what was happening. “You gotta help out family.”
“No, you both need to leave,” Alessia cut in. Katie’s eyebrows shot up as she glanced at Alessia. This is how I knew that Alessia hadn’t told Katie the full story yet even though they had gotten close to each other. “You both know what it is we want from you, and if you can’t give us that then you need to respect our wishes and leave us alone.”
“No, (Y/N) needs to make a sacrifice for this family because family is important,” Dad said.
“Make a sacrifice? You want me to give up my entire wedding! For a sister who has never cared about me and always been put ahead of me!” I snapped. I didn’t care anymore. I didn’t care who knew the truth. I’d rather people pity me for how I was treated growing up than painted as a villain in front of my friends. “She doesn’t just get to take our wedding because she’s pregnant! Alessia and I have put so much time and effort into making sure our day was going to be perfect for us! We didn’t do it for Eve! We did it for us! If Eve wants to get married so badly before the baby is here, then she can take John to the courthouse and get married and then have a ceremony for everyone to go to later when it won’t be so stressful for her!”
“(Y/N), calm down,” Alessia softly said as she laid a hand on my arm.
“No! I’m tired!” I broke down as I looked at Alessia. My shoulders slumped forward because I knew that Alessia was aware of how I felt, but I had never once vocalized it to anyone. “I won’t play second fiddle to Eve anymore. Not when we are talking about one of the most important days of our lives. The fact that either of you are taking her side is insane! I know you both prefer her over me, but you know that we had to be so careful about the timing of our wedding because we are both professional players and so are all our friends and no one has the same season schedule so we had to be careful to make sure everyone could come! You both know that!”
“They’re calling you selfish because you refuse to give away your wedding?” Caitlin asked.
I didn’t even bother looking at my teammates. I knew that they would be on my side, but there had been that small voice in the back of my head telling me that none of them would actually support Alessia and I and our stance on this.
“Dude, that’s majorly fucked up,” Jen said.
“Language!”
“No! You don’t get to come here and scold my friends!” I said as I rounded on my mom. “I don’t want to see you anymore! You are not invited to the wedding! Dad is not invited to the wedding! Eve is not invited to the wedding! None of you are really my family! If you were none of you would have ever asked me to give up the day I get to celebrate my relationship with Alessia! My real family is the one I’ve gotten to build since I joined the national team in 2015. So don’t call me. Don’t text me. Leave Alessia and I alone because neither of us want you in our lives.”
We all stood in silence for a moment as my parents stared at me. I ignored the tears that were threatening to spill down my mom’s face. And how my dad’s jaw had slacked slightly. Neither of them deserved to be sad or shocked at my reaction, not after how they had treated me for so long.
“It’s time for you both to leave,” Kim spoke up after a moment. I recognized the tone she was using too. I had been on the receiving end of it enough times over the years to know that she was serious. “And for your sakes, I’d stay away.”
“Yeah, mates, come near either of them again and we’ll be the ones setting you straight,” Leah added on.
My parents stared at me for a moment longer before they both were heading down the road. It only took Alessia a second to wrap me up in her arms before she took me back inside.
I knew that we couldn’t avoid explaining everything to our teammates, but I just wanted to enjoy the night playing games and eating pizza with my friends. No, with my family. We could tell them everything tomorrow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You guys didn’t have to come.”
The two women who were sitting across from me both raised a brow. I knew that they both had their own problems to deal with.
“Alessia had to call me and Tobin just to tell me what was going on,” Christen pointed out. Had it been before this previous year, I wouldn’t have hesitated to talk about the problems I had been having to either of the women sitting with me. “You used to tell us everything and lately it seems like you haven’t been sharing anything with us.”
“You both have your own stuff going on. You don’t need my dumpster fire of a family added to that.”
“You are family to us,” Ali said. I only gave a small shrug to that. “Hey, no. The stuff you’re going through is important to us, (Y/N). We want to know what’s going on with you.”
“It isn’t fair that I burden you guys with my drama too. I mean, Christen’s trying to rehab from a fourth surgery, and you’ve been dealing with your family stuff and the whole situation.”
Christen sighed as she reached across the table to grab a hold of my hand.
“Just because we have our own stuff going on doesn’t mean you’re a burden. It’s honestly worse when you don’t tell us what’s going on. Especially since Alessia was the one to call us and tell us that we should come see you cause you were struggling.”
“It’s fine. Just my parents choosing my sister over me again. Nothing I’m not already used to.”
Christen and Ali both looked at each other. They were both well aware of the problems I had with my family considering they frequently ended up stepping up when my own parents couldn’t be bothered to help me.
“Alessia didn’t tell us much. Just said that you should be the one to explain everything to us,“ Christen added.
I only gave them a little shrug. I still hated that all of my Arsenal teammates were aware of the situation. I really didn’t want to drag more people into the depths of it all. Especially since I knew that I would get questions from my national teammates as to why my family wasn’t at the wedding anymore.
“They wanted me to give the wedding to Eve,” I admitted after we had sat in silence for a moment. “I told them no, but they came out to try and convince me again. I snapped at them in front of the team.”
“Do we need to talk to them?”
I shook my head at Ali’s suggestion. I was tired of trying to convince my parents to finally choose me over my sister. If they wouldn’t choose me for the most important day of my life, then I wouldn’t choose them anymore.
“I uninvited them to the wedding.”
“Good.”
I still felt a little guilty about it. But that was mostly because of the number of messages that I was getting from everyone in my family telling me how low it was for me to keep them all from such an important event.
“I did want to ask you two if you would take my parents spots?” Both of the older players across from me froze. “Neither of you have to. “But you both treat me like your kid more than my own parents do.
Christen and Ali shared another look.
“(Y/N), we’d be honored,” Ali said as she reached out to grab my free hand. “You’re always going to be our kid. You moving overseas and playing for Arsenal never changed that. But if you pull any stunts with Alessia like she-who-shall-not-be-named, I’ll hunt you down myself.”
“I won’t,” I assured Ali. I knew that everything had been really rough for her lately. It had been especially frustrating that I hadn’t had the time to fly out to visit her due to my schedule. “Besides, I’m pretty sure you’d have to fight with every single Lioness and Gunner to get to me first. And you’re already barely holding it together chasing after all the twenty-year-olds in the NWSL.”
Ali rolled her eyes at me. I knew that Ali would make it her mission to get her hands on me first even if she was at the disadvantage of living overseas from me.
“So, what are you wanting us to do in the wedding?”
“I’d love it if you guys would walk me down the aisle. And the dances. Oh, and we’re gonna have a private ceremony where we sign the marriage license. I’d love for you two to be there, and for the wedding pictures.”
“We would love to.”
I softly smiled at that. It really did mean a lot. Alessia and I hadn’t really had much of a chance to talk about any of it yet, but I knew that she was prepared to ask her parents to skip those parts of the ceremony or if they could do the dances privately so that I wouldn’t feel left out.
“The father/daughter dance is to Wildflowers by Tom Petty. And the mother/daughter dance is to Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift,” I told them as I looked between them. “I don’t mind who dances with me for each of them. I would really like to share one of them with each of you.”
“You’ll get a dance with each of us. Promise,” Christen said as she grinned at me.
“Now, do you think Alessia would like it if I asked her to be a godmother for the kids as well?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You know Ali asked me if I wanted to be a godmother?”
I couldn’t help but grin as the two of us swayed together as we watched where our friends and family were dancing in front of us.
“She might have asked if I thought you would like it.”
“I loved it.”
I gave her a soft hum of acknowledgement. I knew that she would, and I had told Ali as much. Alessia had fallen in love with Sloane and Ocean the first time she met them.
“What did you think about our day?”
“It was perfect,” I assured the blonde striker. I turned to look at her as I pulled her face to look at my own. “Everyone that I wanted to be here was. I got to dance and celebrate with the people who I consider my real family.”
“No regrets about…?” Alessia trailed off.
The two of us had been avoiding any and all talk about my biological family. We had reached out to all of our vendors as well as security to make sure that none of them could ruin our day, but today had gone off without a hitch.
“None. I think it was the first time in a long time that I’ve been happy not to have them around for such a big milestone in my life and I think it’s because it was my choice.”
While Alessia and I hadn’t made much of a mention of my biological family, it didn’t mean that my therapist hadn’t helped me through it. But I was truly at peace with the situation.
“I’m happy to hear that, darling.”
“Besides, I got to marry the love of my life.”
“There’s nothing I would trade to marry you.”
“Not even a World Cup?”
“Not even for a World Cup. Much rather would be known as the wife of (Y/N) Russo rather than have a World Cup.”
“Careful there, Russo, your WAG is showing.”
“Let it. After all, it’s our day. We’ve got everyone we want here. And we’ve got each other for the rest of our lives. Nothing can ruin it for us.”
pleaseee do some more ella x alessia x reader fics I love them so so much I’ve read them so many times!!!
Holiday getaway (Alessia Russo x reader, Ella toone x reader)
Tumblr media
“God, it’s so hot.” Alessia moans as she lies back against the sun bed. “Yeah, it is.” Ella bites her lip as she stares at your half naked body, the bikini Alessia bought for you hugged your figure perfectly.
Hearing the younger girl’s suggestive tone, she lifts her glasses raising a questioning eyebrow before Ella nods over to you. Now intrigued, Alessia glances over to where Ella’s eyes have been focused for the last couple of minutes.
Oblivious to both your girlfriends ogling, you struggle to cover all your back with suncream. Noticing your struggle, Alessia’s quick to get up and give you a hand.
You jump as you feel familiar hands snake their way around your waist, “Do you need a hand, darling.” She whispers as she gently removes the bottle of suncream from your hand.
Shooting her a grateful smile you hear the lid of the bottle pop off before you feel the cold cream being lathered on your back, her soft hands taking advantage of all the exposed skin.
Ella crosses her arms with a huff as she watches Alessia massage the suncream on your back. The blonde lifts her head throwing the brunette a cocky look as she exaggerates her movements hoping to get a reaction out of Ella.
You feel Alessia’s hands wander down to your ass giving it a playful squeeze. “Watch those hands,” you warn as you turn your head sideways to look at her, “I’m just making sure you don’t get a burnt baby.”
You hear Ella scoff dramatically from where she is lying, arms still firmly crossed accentuating her toned muscles. You mockingly pout as you walk over to your ‘abandoned’ girlfriend. “Awww is someone feeling left out?” You mock.
You hear Alessia snicker behind you as Ella glares at the both of you, “You two always gang up on me,” she whines as she sinks further down into her sunbed moodily.
“Maybe if you didn’t make it so easy, it wouldn’t happen so often.” Alessia mumbles under her breath, laughing to herself before throwing herself back down on the sun bed.
Now taking pity on your girlfriend, you unwrap her crossed arms before lying down on your stomach in between her legs and resting your head against her chest.
You teasingly pout at her before playfully pinching her cheek trying to elicit a smile out of the normally mischievous girl. She tries staying mad as long as she can but the soft look you are giving her has her folding like a deck chair.
“You’re so pretty, ya know.” Her accent thick as she tightens her hold on you. You slowly lean in to kiss the smirk off her face, hand moving to cup her jaw while tilting her head down to deepen the kiss.
Meanwhile on the other sun bed, the blonde lies happily unbothered as she works on her tan.
You bury her face into her neck as you try to escape from the heat, Ella’s bucket hat blocking a little bit of the sun.
“Aww, what a cute couple?” You can practically feel Ella’s smug grin from where you are hiding. The comment however grabs Alessia’s attention pulling from her relaxed state. She slides her glasses down to the bridge of her nose silently cursing the woman who unknowingly gave the brunette endless bragging rights.
“Aww! Did you hear that babe! She thinks we make a good couple!” You snicker at your girlfriend's form of revenge, slapping her leg lightly as she raises her voice, making sure that the Italian hears her.
“AwW! DiD yOu heAR tHat BAbe?!” Alessia mocks as it was turn to cross her arms huffing even more as she hears your reply.
“Well we did just kiss, El.”
“Still it’s nice to be recognised!” She shouts in your ear trying to rile Alessia up further.
Not wanting to be apart of another bicker between the two, you begrudgingly pull yourself up out of Ella’s comfy embrace.
“I’ll show you some recognition.”
“You’re just jealous!” Ella taunts watching Alessia sit up abruptly.
“Am not! I just don’t need attention 24/7!”
“Oi! I do not need attention 24/7!”
“Mhm.”
“Don’t mhm me, you are mad because i got a kiss and you haven’t.”
“Oh, I could get a kiss whenever I want!” Alessia goes to prove her point but finds the spot you were once taking up empty.
Deciding to leave the two girls at their petty fight, you told them you were going for a swim, which was drowned out by their back and forth bickering.
Alessia shrugs, forgetting about the argument was in favour of focusing back on her tan as Ella quietly celebrates.
The Beautiful Game and Books - Alessia Russo x reader
Hey guys! So I had this idea for a fic which I really liked. But as I was writing it I realized how long it was and saw that I could make it into a 2 parter. And when I put it to a vote you said to post the first part so here it is!!!!! This is my own little take on a jock x Nerd fic so I hope you enjoy! I am working on the second part but I am swamped at the moment but I will post it as soon as possible. But for now I hope you like this!
You let out a sigh as you entered the familiar house hoping it wouldn't be long. Your evening was busy with plans of laying in bed rewatching either The Vampire Diaries or Harry Potter, whatever you were in the mood for honestly.
But your plans to rush home had been interrupted when your mother had texted you to make a detour.
The Russo residence was a place you frequented often. What with your mother being best friends with Carol you were over to their house often whether it was just for regular catch-ups or for weekly dinners. It also wasn't lost on you that with their daughter being the same age as you and going to the same school that your parents had hoped you and Alessia would become best friends just like them.
Probably to give them more excuses to hang out.
But unfortunately for your mothers, their plan didn't work. You and the youngest Russo just didn't click really. Maybe it was just that your personalities didn't work. You were always quiet and very timid and enjoyed reading and kept to yourself. While Alessia was always the friendly outgoing loveable girl who was always outside playing football.
Don't get it wrong, you didn't hate each other. You were civil with each other when at each other's houses and when the two families were together. But your conversations didn't go much past how you were finding classes you shared or some stupid school gossip.
Honestly you probably got on better with her brothers than you did with her.
You were so familiar with the house that you entered without knocking and called out, "Mum?" You couldn't help but roll your eyes at the small joke of 'which one' your mother and her best friend shared as you walked into the kitchen where they were.
"Might as well be talking to Carol. At least she wouldn't forget to pick me up from school and leave me abandoned" you tease as Carol chuckles as she gives you a side hug just to tease your mother further.
But your mother takes it in stride as she rolls her eyes with a scoff. "It was one time. You would swear I'm neglecting you. I just got the days mixed up".
Which you fully understood you knew that you were usually busy studying in the library after school most days but after the library had closed for some small renovations for the week it meant you got to go home after school. Something your mother had forgotten and you were ready to walk home when Carol who was already picking up Alessia offered you a lift.
But that doesn't mean you couldn't tease your mother for it.
"Your only child. Left forgotten and abandoned at the school gates. About to walk the dangerous streets alone home if it wasn't for Carol" you sigh dramatically as you lean into the Russo woman who laughed at your dramatics.
"Maybe Carol can look after you then" Your mother quipped back as she sipped her tea.
But Carol quickly interjects with a shake of the head. "Oh I don't think so I think 3 is enough for me. Besides" she starts with a grin, "she's definitely your daughter. She's almost as dramatic as you".
"Hey!" You and your mother call out in unison. "I am not dramatic/ Almost?" You and your mother glare at each other before it's turned on the Russo as the two of you hear her giggle at you both.
"So how has school been?" Carol asks trying to quickly move on with the conversation.
You just shrug, "Eh. Fine. Nothing new. Learned some stuff, corrected a few teachers and helped a few people after school. The usual".
The best friends shared a look of amusement over their cups of tea. Honestly where your studious nature and love of books came from was lost on your mother. It definitely wasn't from her and your father wasn't exactly the brightest either. But you had always been academically gifted even going so far as to point out corrections to teachers in school.
A small part of her thought it was because of your father leaving when you were younger but that wasn't something either of you talked about.
Your teachers had gone to your mother a few times saying you would be better off looking into schools with a bit more challenging course work for you or at the very least maybe skipping a year or maybe two. But you were perfectly content where you were.
You and your mother against the world.
"So the call I got from the school earlier then?" Your mother prodded, "About Mr Wickerman?"
But you just shrug nonchalantly, "Personally I don't know what his problem is".
Your mother raised an eyebrow at you, "Well do you want to give me a heads up on the 'inappropriate writing assignment' you handed in so I'm not blindsided when I have to meet with him tomorrow?"
You held up your hands, "Hey I hit the brief!" You sighed as you were fixed with a look by both women. "The assignment was to write a short story about a secret gradually coming out" you explained to which they both nodded prompting you to continue. You ran a hand through your hair, "So I wrote about a girl's parents finding out she was dating someone. Only when they are finally introduced, they meet her girlfriend rather than her boyfriend". You shrug, "If anything I hit the brief twice. It was a secret gradually coming out AND an actual coming out! Not my fault Mr Wickerman is a homophobic prick".
Your mother gives you a stern glare before you relient a bit like a small child being scolded, "Sorry". For such a quiet and intelligent girl, your mother was forever scolding you for your language.
She always told you had a mouth like a sailor.
Your mother sighed before giving you a reassuring smile letting you know you weren't in trouble, "I'll sort it out".
And while you knew you were in the right you couldn't help but feel guilty in that instant. Knowing that your mother already had enough to worry about without having to defend your actions to the school.
Even if it was against homophobic asshole who should just retire already.
But like always it's as if your mother can read your mind as she reaches over and squeezes your hand with a soft look in her eye. "I've never liked him anyways" she jokes, making you let out a laugh.
"So now that I'm not in trouble…does that mean I can go home? I have plans" you try but your mother just scoffs.
"And plans you mean to sit in your room and watch Netflix" she says looking at you knowingly.
But you just smile at her, "You just know me so well". "Does that mean I can go?" You try again angling yourself towards the door when your mother stops you again.
"Actually no. There's something we need to talk to you about…"
That gets your attention as your eyes flicker to the Russo woman before landing back on your mother, "We? What's going on?"
But your question is interrupted by the front door opening once more and another call of "Mum I'm home" breaches your ears. It isn't long after the youngest Russo makes an appearance quickly moving to her mother and greeting her with a kiss on the kiss and then greeting your mother with a smile.
You just about barely got a nod of recognition.
Not that you really cared.
"Hey Honey how was training?" Carol asked as Alessia was already moving towards the stairs.
"Good" she answered simply before throwing a thumb over her shoulder, "I'm going to have a shower. I'm meeting some of the girls in town".
But just like you she was quickly stopped by her mother. "Actually Alessia we need to have a quick chat first".
She paused her movements but did as her mother told her. She briefly looked at you as if silently asking if you knew but you just gave her a shrug. Letting her know you were both clueless about whatever this is.
Carol's voice dropped slightly as she fixed her eyes on the brunette. "Less, the school have been on to us about your grades".
That was all Alessia needed to know what this was about. However, you could tell by how her eyes quickly glanced at you that she didn't feel fully comfortable talking about it in front of you. But that didn't stop her from pleading her case.
"I know Mum" she said quickly probably not wanting her to say anything else in front of me. "It's just with football it's hard to keep up all the time".
Carol quickly nodded and it was one of the things you loved about her, she didn't show any signs of anger only understanding. "We know Less. And we are so proud of you and we know how hard you work". "And even though we know how hard you work doesn't mean you don't need a hand" she says soothingly.
Once again her eyes flickered at you, "Mum can we please talk about this later?"
But she stood firm, "Less we decided that you need a tutor if you're going to keep up with both school and football".
You could tell she was displeased with the idea immediately. "Mummmm" she groaned and you had to withhold the scoff as you swore you could almost hear the childish footstomp to go with her tantrum.
"Alessia we only want what's best for you. In football and in school" Carol said firmly letting her know she wasn't budging on this.
She's quiet for a few second before sighing, "Fine. I'll find one later".
But it seems it was your mother's turn now. "Actually we already have one in mind" your mother said as she turned to you.
You could feel your eyes widen as they all turn to you. "Me?" You asked pointing to yourself.
"Your top of your class and don't think I don't know that Luca and Giorgio go to you when they need help with homework" Carol says as you blush.
"Not really…" you try but from the look of the two older women their minds were already made up.
"How about the two of you go upstairs and get started?" Carol said looking at the both of you. When you looked to your mum you knew she wouldn't save you.
"But mum!" Alessia whined once more but Carol was having none of it.
"Alessia don't be rude" she scolds as she nods towards you who awkwardly stood there as Alessia eyed you up.
Albeit grudgingly, Alessia sighed and nodded, "Fine". She then turned and quickly went up the stairs making sure to make her footsteps thump that little bit harder to let everyone know of her displeasure.
You gave them a tight lipped smile as you turned and followed her. Already dreading this. Like you siad you had nothing against Alessia but you knew if it wasn't for Carol you definitely wouldn't be helping her right now. Especially as it wasn't like you wanted to do this either.
You last about 45 minutes before you made the excuse of going home to plan future sessions which Alessia is only too happy to accept. You couldn't take the awkward looks and the weird tension. And it was clearly mutual as Alessia just busied herself on her phone instead of trying to actually talk to you apart from short answers anytime you tried to make conversation.
But you knew there would be no getting out of this. The Russo's were practically family after all. So when your mother asked how did it go on the drive home. Of course you gave her a fake smile and a nod saying it went well.
You made sure your mother seemed happy with your answer before you leaned your head up against the window and prayed that tomorrow with Alessia would be a bit better.
Who knows maybe you'll actually end up friends by the end of this?
~~~
Yeah you can forget about you and Alessia being friends.
Your day went about normally. You kept your head down and carried on with your classes as you usually do. Talking to the few people you usually talk to. You wouldn't classify them as friends, you didn't know them well enough for that.
It was more people you sat beside in some classes. They were the kind of people you would give a nod to in the hallway as well as just casual conversation in classes. Just so you wouldn't have to sit in that awkward silence.
The closest thing you would say you would have to a friend would be Ben. You sat beside each other in English and were both a bit of loners. And you bonded over the fact that you both hated Me Wickerman. As well as the fact that you both had the same teasing sense of humour. But again you wouldn't really talk outside of school apart from the odd time.
It was the end of the day and everyone was rushing out of class to their lockers to try and grab their things and run home. You walked out of English with Ben as you teased him how you scored higher than him (like always) when you spotted Alessia talking with her friends.
You waved goodbye to the boy as you ducked your way through the crowd. You had agreed yesterday that you would meet with Alessia to study but you hadn't said where so you decided you better catch her before she goes home as well as probably get her phone number so stuff like this can be avoided.
You didn't think it would be a good idea to get her number from her brother's. As they were still looking for revenge for the prank you pulled on both of them.
Let's just say they learned never to ask you to put in a good word for them with their crushes again.
But it was times like these that reminded you that Alessia probably forgot you went to the same school. Because she probably would have been more careful about being overheard if she did.
You had been walking up to her little group of friends when you could overhear their conversation. "Cmon Less everyone's going!"
You slowed down not wanting to interrupt their conversation. But you couldn't help but overhear them.
But the brunette just sigh as she rumaged through her locker, "I can't I have plans".
You couldn't help but roll your eyes at her disinterest. It wasn't like this was your first choice either. You didn't exactly get a choice in this either.
Her friends just groan, "But everyone is going! You have to come. Just come!"
While you can't see most of their faces, you could already tell they were slowly trying to convince Alessia. Not wanting their ringleader to miss out. But you weren't worried. This is Alessia. You knew you weren't the closest but you knew her. There was no way she would just blow you off like that…
"Yeah…maybe" Alessia started but you could see her resolve crumble as she looks at her friends. "Fine" she sighs, "I'll sort something out".
You honestly couldn't believe it. You knew you didn't know the football player well but you've known each other since you were babies. And Alessia was always the nice friendly girl. You honestly couldn't believe what you were hearing.
You couldn't stop the loud scoff from slipping out. But it must have been louder than you thought as it seems to catch the brunette's attention.
A tiny part of you enjoys how her eyes widen and an obvious blush tints her face at the fact she's been caught. But you just hardened your glare as your crossed your arms ignoring all the curious looks you received from her friends.
"You know I don't exactly want to do this either. But I thought you would at least have the common decency to at least not blow me off when your the one that needs help" you snipe. But you can tell but the way that Alessia couldn't look you in the eyes that you wouldn't be getting an answer you liked. "Whatever" you scoff before turning away to walk home.
Thankfully it was one of the days you were walking home so you didn't have to deal with your mother investigating your foul mood as she had work. And how you clocked Carol's car before she spotted you and you steered clear of the car. The last thing you wanted right now was to be in the same car as the brunette.
You were fuming the entire way home once again thankful that no one was home and you already had all your homework for tomorrow done. As the second you got home you slammed the door behind you, rush up the stairs taking 2 at a time and flopped into bed hoping that Harry Potter would help forgot the foul mood the football player had put you in.
~~~
You sighed as you heard a knock on the door. You leaned your head against your propped up fist not even turning to the door, "Mum I'll be done in a minute I just need to finish this up".
"Yeah not your mum…"
You looked over your shoulder unimpressed as you see Alessia standing nervously by your door. But don't say anything as you instead turn back to your work. "What are you doing here Russo?"
"I uh tried to find you after school but that guy you hang out with uh Ben? He said you left early" Alessia reveals.
You can hear her sigh as she moves behind you. "Look I know your upset with me. And you have every right to be". You heard her sigh as you pause your work again as you look at her over your shoulder letting her know you were listening.
"You were right" she sighed as she played with her hands. "It's not exactly like you wanted to help me either and I should be grateful that you're even willing to help me". Her cheeks darken with a blush as she pursues her lips, "That is if you still want to help me that is".
But that seems to do it for you as you scoff and drop your pen finally turning back to you. "What? Finally realise that you actually need my help?" You scoff as you shake your head, "I don't know why I expected any different".
"It's not like that" Alessia tries but you don't let her off lightly.
"Oh give me a break Russo" you spit out harshly. "Your only here cause you need something. Because no matter how sweet and kind you maybe seem everyone is the same. Everyone's looking for something and I've already been burned before and I rather not go through that again".
Your just about able to bite your tongue and you silently fume thinking back on that time. But you shake your head once again scoffing at the Football player, "You haven't even said your sorry".
"You're right" Alessia said after a small pause. "I'm sorry" she said, "I'm really sorry". There's another brief silence before Alessia asks, "Why didn't you tell my mum?"
While you were able to dodge her yesterday successfully, it didn't work today as she had caught me when she came around to drop something off to mum. She had asked how it was going with Alessia and I didn't have the heart to tell her what happened.
She only wanted what was best for her daughter.
"Because she's like a second mum to me and I didn't have the heart to tell her" you tell her honestly. "She adores you Alessia. I didn't have it in me to tell her that the apple of her eye decided to ditch me last minute".
"Thank you" she said shyly but you could tell she was genuinely grateful for you not snitching on her.
You nod before you were interrupted by your mother shouting up to you that dinner was ready. Alessia didn't even have a chance to escape as your mother already had a plate ready for her.
Dinner was another awkward affair but thankfully most of the heat was off you as your mother focused on Alessia asking about what she's been up to and how the studying has been going. Afterwards you were both excused to go back upstairs to study.
You both awkwardly sit in your room once more neither of you knowing what to say. Until it was Alessia who once again broke it.
"You said before" she starts cautiously, "that you already got burned once before". She eyed you carefully, "What did you mean by that?"
Your eyes close for a second as you really regret letting that slip out. But you knew you had no other option really. "I think it's obviously I'm not the most popular in school" you said jokingly trying to ease yourself into it. "So you can imagine my surprise when one of the guys on the soccer team started talking to me".
It took everything in Alessia not to correct you but she knew she was already on thin ice. That and it seemed that it wasn't exactly the time to joke about something so small.
You played with your fingers as you shrugged, "It was nice. And I let myself believe he was actually interested in me. When it turns out he was just interested in the fact that I could do his homework for him".
You couldn't stand the pitiful look the Brunette sent you. "Like I said Alessia. Everyone wants something". You shrug emotionlessly, "Probably should have suspected something earlier. I mean who would be interested in me right?"
There's a second silence which made you think Alessia was about to agree with you. But then you heard shuffling and you looked up to see her standing from your desk chair moving to sit on the bed beside you.
"I'm sorry" she started gentle as the two of you sat shoulder to shoulder on your bed. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. That he was too much of a jackass to see how amazing you are. And I'm really sorry that I was a right idiot as well. You didn't deserve any of that".
You just accepted the apology with a smile as you looked down at your clasped hands together.
You couldn't help but let out a tiny snort, "Don't you find this funny?" You grin as Alessia tilts her head at you. "I mean we've known each other since babies but I'd say we know hardly anything about each other other than the obvious".
Alessia thinks for a second before humming as she realizes how right you were. Beyond the basics, she couldn't think of a single thing she could say about you.
Which was highly concerning seeing as like you said you have literally known each other since you were born.
"How about we change that so?" Alessia asked as it was now her turn to grin as you turned to her confused. But she simply held out her hand for a handshake. "Hi, I'm Alessia Russo. But my friends call me Less".
You couldn't stop the grin blooming on your face at how stupid this whole interaction was. But that didn't stop you from shaking her hand. "It's very nice to meet you Alessia".
Alessia gives you a wide grin one that you've only seen when she's around her family or playing football. "I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship".
~~~
Honestly you could tell why Alessia was failing.
"Less! C'mon you need to focus!" You groaned as you can see her start to doodle on her page.
This was your second study session with the football player and you were already losing hope. It didn't take much for the Russo to lose focus. It didn't help that for the past half an hour her brothers kept coming in for the dumbest excuses. It seems that they heard about your struggles to help tutor their sister and used it to their advantage to exact revenge.
Any other time you would have found their distractions hilarious but not right now when you're failing to help Alessia.
"I'm sorry" Alessia sighed as she dropped the pen. She ran her hands through her hair in frustration and you couldn't help but feel bad, "I just can't seem to get this".
You take a deep breath as you slowly let yourself calm down. "I know I'm sorry. I'm sorry".
Alessia pouted as she stared at the book. "I don't know how you understand all this. I can't even keep focus long enough to actually get through it".
You roll your eyes as you lean against your fist. "I'm starting to think that the only time you're really focused is…" but you trail off as your eyes land on a random football in the corner of her room.
Alessia looks at you as you fall silent. But she jolts when you suddenly pop up from your seat. "What's wrong?"
But you don't answer as you grab both the football and the textbook in front of the brunette and stand up. "New plan. Get up c'mon". Alessia eager to get away from all her failed attempts at notes, gets up and follows you.
Her brother's both give you strange looks but you just wave them off as you lead her to their back garden.
"Here. Catch" you said as you throw Alessia the ball.
She just about catches it as she starts to mess with the ball in her hands. "Okay? So what now?"
You shake your hand at her as you try to explain it to her. "Can you do that thing? Where you mess with the ball? Just like kick it around?"
Alessia just scrunches her face as she tilts her head. "You mean juggling? Like juggle the ball?"
To be honest you're not even listening to her really as you flick to the page you left off at. "Yeah sure that". You look up as Alessia to see her giving you a strange look but eventually just starts playing with the ball.
You give her a minute or two to just mess about with the ball before you focus on the page in front of you. "You have to study the formation of a waterfall right?" You ask as you look down at the page. Alessia just hums but that's enough to show she's listening.
You smile as you start to read out of the textbook. Your smile widens when Alessia without looking up from the ball asks you to repeat the last part which proves to you she's listening.
You do as she says as you continue to read. Occasionally stopping in order to reread a section or to answer a question Alessia has.
When you finally finish the section you put the textbook aside as you stick your leg out and poke the ball away from Alessia who looks up at you with a pout. You couldn't help but chuckle as you pick up the ball. "Okay then. Tell me how a waterfall forms".
But her shoulders drop as she sighs with her hands on her hips. "You already know I can't".
But you just shrug with a smile throwing her the ball, "Humour me".
Alessia frowns at you but then slowly starts to explain as she repeats back what you just read to her. You can't prevent the smile spreading across your face as you almost dance on the spot. "Less! That's right!"
Her head snaps up at you, "Wait seriously?"
You clap your hands together with a nod, "Yes! That was practically perfect. Like it was right out of the book".
Alessia blushes at the small praise as she smiles, "I don't know how I did that". She scratches the back of her head, "I guess I just understood it better when you explained it to me".
You smile and nod, "You're an auditory learner".
She scrunches her face at you as she tilts her head obviously confused. "What?"
You can't help but giggle at her finding it a bit adorable at how clueless she was. "You learn better when someone is reading or explaining it to you rather than when you read it" you explained.
Alessia nods before throwing you back the ball. "Then what was the whole point of the ball?"
You shrug as your throw the ball between your hands. "You were too worked up. I thought messing around with the ball would help you relax a bit. Seems I was right".
Alessia smiles and can't help but squeal as she hugs you, "You are an actual genius! Thank you!"
You're shocked but you slowly hug her back. You let her hug you for a bit longer before you pat her back, "I try. Now c'mon we've got more studying to do".
Alessia groans but quickly shuts up when she narrowly dodges the ball you throw at her head.
~~~
"You do know we could just reschedule this right?" You said as Alessia makes sure she has everything she needs.
But Alessia just shakes her head as she tosses her gearbag into the boot, "I can't". She shuts the boot as she sighs and you can see it in her eyes how stressed she is, "We have that test coming up and I can't afford to fail".
You couldn't help but soften at the sight of her. You could see how worked up Less was about this test. She knew she was good at football and that is what she wanted to do. But she also knew that scouts would look at more than just her football ability but would also look at her academic ability.
But more importantly she didn't want to let her family down.
……or you
"Less" you say softly as you grab one of her hands. "You've been working so hard lately. We can all see it. You have been doing so good and I just know you're going to pass that test".
You're happy to see the small uptick in Alessia's lips as her eyes shine a little brighter. "You really think so?"
You don't know why but a small part of you feels warm at the fact that she seeks your approval. That your opinion really means that much to her. "Of course I do" you say gently, letting your genuinity shine through truly wanting her to know how much you really mean it.
You grin as you bump your shoulder against hers not wanting her to be nervous on the way to her match. "Do you seriously think I would be joining you and your dad on an hour's drive to watch a soccer match if I didn't have full faith in you?" You scoff in mock disbelief, "How dare you!"
Alessia laughs as she nudges you back as you lean back against the car.
You couldn't explain it. It was just something about the way she smiled and laughed made your chest feel lighter. It just made you want to keep her smiling and laughing always.
If you were being really honest, you wanted to be the reason she was smiling and laughing.
"And it's football not soccer weirdo" Alessia corrects you.
Honestly you didn't really care whatever you called it. You just liked to rile the poor girl up for your own amusement. "Oh so when my mother calls it soccer you have no problem. But when I do it, it's suddenly wrong".
But Alessia just tsks and shakes her head sagely, "That's because she's American. You on the other hand have lived here your entire life and should know better".
You roll your eyes and click your tongue at her, making her laugh. You open your mouth to argue but you're interrupted by her dad coming out to the car saying you better set off now if she doesn't want to be late. The two of you climb into the back seats getting your books out to study on the drive to the game.
Her dad tried to make small talk with you, probably not used to the quiet in the car. But it's surprisingly Alessia who shushes him.
You and Mario lock eyes in the mirror before you look over at her amused as she is fully concentrated on her (your) notes. As predicted she only lasted another 20 minutes before she begins to whine and beg you to read them out to her. Claiming as always it's easier when you read them to her.
You raise an eyebrow at her but the second she pouts at you, you crumble holding out your hand to take the notes. To which she passes them to you, a bit too happy in your opinion.
You start to read as Alessia leans up against you so she can follow along on the page while also looking at the different diagrams and graphs. Honestly you had become so use to her lying her head on your shoulder but you still had to school your face every time you could feel her breath brush against your neck.
The first few times it had happened you had thought you had actually bored her to death and she had fallen asleep. But with the occasional question or asking you to explain something to her, it was enough to know she was still following along.
It was almost funny how well the two of you worked together. It was almost as if you worked off each other. It was all the small things. How Alessia would turn the page for you (although you had a feeling that was also because she didn't want to compromise her comfy position). Or how when strand of hair fell in her face you would gently brush them behind her ear. Small little actions done without even having to communicate with each other.
Or how you knew when Alessia had a problem with a certain part as she would bring over your favorite treats as a silent apology for all the questions and help she was about to ask you for.
Or how Alessia would wordlessly take some books to carry for you cause you are the biggest bookworm she knew and didn't know how you carried all these books as she even struggled to take all of them.
It was all those small little actions which had not gone unnoticed by your mother's.
But that's entirely whole other problem.
Sooner than you think Mario lets you know you're about 5 minutes away. So you decide that enough has been done as you put the notes aside. Alessia tries to object but you just shush her as you tell her she should take a break and relax before she has to get ready for the game.
She lifts her head to pout at you but let out a sigh as she drops her head right back into the burrow of your neck. The car is silent for the rest of the drive as you allow her to get focused on the game. Even you take the few minutes to rest your head back and close your eyes. Not even opening them when you feel Alessia start to play with the rings on your fingers.
But you don't say anything as you just smile and close your eyes once more. A few minutes later you can feel the car roll to a stop as Alessia squeezed your hand thinking you might have dozed off.
The two of you stretch feeling slightly stiff from being stuck in the back seats for a while. But as Alessia takes off her seatbelt, you gently touch her arm stopping her from getting out.
"Good luck" you smile at her as you squeeze her arm, "you're going to smash it".
Alessia doesn't say anything but judging by the megawatt smile spreading across her face she appreciated the encouragement. With one small squeeze on your hand in thanks, she gets out of the car and grabs her gear before running over to some of her teammates.
You couldn't help but follow her as you watch as she joins over to some of her teammates before they rush off to the dressing rooms.
The car is quiet for a second before Mario snorts out a laugh. You look at him quizzically as he looks back at you in the mirror amused. "You haven't a clue about football do you?" He asks, grinning at you. You shake your head but you couldn't help but smile.
"Not a clue".
Mario laughs as he shakes his head as he nods his head, "Alright then. C'mon let's go find seats".
And after 90 minutes you still hadn't a clue. Honestly you didn't see the appeal. Chasing a ball around for 90 minutes. But that didn't mean you didn't find ways to entertain yourself. For one you found it highly amusing how worked up Mario got over the game as he acted as if it was the be all and end all.
And what also surprised you was how sassy Alessia got when playing. You spotted the sweet polite girl often talking back to the referee and making (what you could only guess) snippy comments to the other teams players.
But you did find it sweet how when she scores, she looked up to find her dad. Although you were probably easy to find due to Mario's loud cheering.
Honestly it was kind of refreshing to see the girl smiling. With the amount of studying the two of you had been doing and how much she was stressing over her upcoming test, it had been a while since you had seen her properly smile or look so relaxed.
But honestly it was worth standing out in the cold for the better part of 2 hours as when Alessia came over to us and Mario made a whole song and dance over her.
"Dad!" Alessia groaned as Mario cheered and swept her into a massive hug gaining looks from everyone around. "Dad, stop it!" Alessia whined as her face burns red. Her eyes narrowing when she sees you giggling at her embarrassment.
"Nothing wrong with showing everyone how proud I am of you" he says sternly but you can tell he's enjoying messing with her.
You take that as your chance to join in on the ribbing, "Yeah superstar. I mean you did score the winning goal after all". It seems that Alessia's mood considerably brightens at the reminder.
Mario laughs, "Yeah I don't think I have ever seen this one so excited. Much less over football".
You shrug, "Still don't see the appeal of Football".
But obviously that was the wrong thing to say as Alessia took that as an opportunity to try and explain to you every reason why football was appealing.
Even as you climb back into the car, Alessia continues on why football is the greatest sport alive as you nod along. Until you're completely drained and now the roles are reversed as you rest your head against hers. Alessia pausing her rant to let you settle softly against her.
She still continues on but in a softer tone until she sees you drift off. She feels your head start to slip off her shoulder as she wraps an arm around you and pulls you against her.
She practically holds her breath as you shift in your sleep. Her face darkens crimson when she realised your face is buried in her neck as your breath hitting her neck sends shivers down her spine. She tries to shift back a bit but realises she can't when she sees that you have her shirt balled up in your hands leaving her no chance to snuggle back up with you.
When Mario looks back, he smiles softly as he sees the two of you sound asleep in each other's arms peacefully leaning into each other for comfort.
~~~
Your eyes widen and you blink at the girl who shakes her head ag your reaction. "Sorry. Say that again? Because I definitely must have miss heard you". You shake your own head as you with out a small chuckle, "Cause I could have sworn you said you were going to teach me football".
It was a usually weekend dinner with the two families. But with the weather being unusually nice they had decided to move if outside to take advantage of the rare sunny day. So while both of your mother gossiped about God knows what and Gio and Luca helped Mario with a barbeque, Alessia had decided to drag you out to the garden.
Although you weren't expecting this.
But the footballer just smiled amusedly at you as she grinned at you, "No you heard right. That's exactly what I said".
You raise your eyebrows at her but you continue smiling at her, "You are insane".
"C'mon!" Alessia groans as she throws the ball between her hands. "You help me study for classes. I think it's my turn to teach you something".
You pouted and stomped your foot with a whine a bit like a petulant child but you didn't really care. Even though you rolled your eyes when you saw Alessia giggle at your antics. "But that's different! I'm helping you study for your education! That's important!"
Alessia pouted now tilting her head at you, "Football is important too".
You fixed her with a look, "Too you! Football isn't important to me!" You clarified knowing she had a point. Her whole life practically revolves around the sport.
But Alessia ignores your entire argument and instead grins smugly at you, "You called it Football".
You let out a loud groan that I'm sure your mothers could hear from their seats across the garden. "Really? That's all you got from that?"
But she doesn't say anything, only shrugs her shoulders with a grin. She drops the ball and starts juggling it with ease. "See look, it's not that hard!" She kicks it higher and catches it, "You're always saying I'm too clumsy. So if I can do it then so can you".
I raise an eyebrow at her, "First of all I stand by that statement. You are the clumiest person I've ever met. But at least on a soccer field you know what you're doing. I haven't an athletic bone in my body!"
Alessia grins widely, "Well that's about to change cause we're doing it!"
You groan but Alessia takes no notice as she kicks you the ball to which you squeal and slap the ball away. Alessia gives you a very unimpressed look as you just shrug at her as if to say 'what?' Before she rolls her eyes and goes to get the ball.
For the next hour and a half the two of you became the entertainment for both your families as they watched Alessia fail to teach you football.
"No no no you're meant to pass with the inside of your foot!"
"Hit it with the laces"
"You have to have power behind the pass or else it won't make it that far….imagine it's Mr Wickerman…NOT THAT HARD!"
Eventually you flopped onto the ground as you fail to get the ball off the Russo and she gives you a particularly hard shoulder that sends you to the ground.
"Okay I think I'm done" you say as you curl up on the grass. "Just leave me here to die peacefully".
Alessia just rolls her eyes at your dramatics, "It wasn't that bad".
You barely lift your head to look at her before dropping it back down with a thump, "Oh yes it was".
Oh course it was then her brother's decided to join you as Luca messes with your hair and Giorgio sits on your stomach as you let out a grunt before pushing him off you. "No she's right, that was painful to watch".
"She wasn't that bad" Alessia tries although very weakly. It was obvious that anything athletic wasn't your strong suit.
"Up for a 2v2 then?" Luca suggest as he tosses the ball in his hands. "Gio and I versus you two?"
"But those teams aren't fair!" Alessia argues immediately to which you lift your head in offense.
"You said I wasn't that bad!"
She sends you a sorry smile, "Yeah I lied". You scoff but wave her off letting her know you were only messing. You were genuinely terrible. And you didn't know how Alessia lasted so long with you.
It wasn't long after that you were all called for dinner as you ate together. Although it seemed this time it blended much easier with both you and Alessia actually conversing. Unlike before where it would be a civil conversation now the two of you actually sat beside each other.
Only after Alessia had to wrestle Luca out of his regular seat beside you.
"But I always sit there!" Luca complains as Alessia smiles in victory over having successfully pushed him off the chair beside you.
"Not anymore" Alessia mocks as she sits happily in the chair as you giggle at the siblings.
"Mom!" Luca whines while Carol just shakes her head.
"Luca it's just a chair" Carol sighs but has a hint of a smile on her face. Clearly amused by her children's antics.
"But I always sit there!" Luca argues once more. He looks at you, "Tell them Sherlock!"
You shake your head at his nickname for you but hold up your hands declaring neutrality, "Sorry Watson".
He looks at you betrayed as Alessia wraps an arm around you pulling you into her slightly as she smirks smuggly up at her brother. "Sorry, looks like she has a new favorite Russo now".
Luca sighs sadly before he eventually takes his new seat beside his brother as he mopely eats his food.
Everything after that was fine apart from the few teasing comments thrown around.
It was later in the evening as you recovered from your evening of playing soccer and nursing your little food baby that Alessia suggested the two of you watch a movie.
You were playing on your phone as she dropped beside you on the couch. "Here" she says as she holds out a bowl for you.
You peek into the bowl, "What is it?"
"Skittles" Alessia answers simply before holding up her own bowl, "Don't worry I took out all the green ones".
You smiled softly at that. "You remembered?" You asked as you recall telling her in one of your study sessions that you loved Skittles but hated the green ones.
"Of course" she smiled at you before turning back to the TV, "I also remember you saying you love Harry Potter so which one are we going to watch?"
You smile softly before telling her your favorite one as she puts it on. You watch the film for a little while before Alessia moves beside you but your eyes remain locked on the screen. She calls your name and you hum showing that you're listening.
But when she doesn't say anything you look over at her to see her fiddling with her fingers. "Can I ask you something?" She asked quietly and albeit a bit nervously.
Seeing how nervous the girl was, you paused the movie and gave her your full attention. "Of course Less. You can ask me anything" you say as you take one of her hands and rub your thumb over her knuckles.
She watches how your thumb glides over her knuckles softly before she sighs. "What's up with you and Luca?"
You practically choke on air as your eyes widen at the thought. "What?"
But Alessia just shrugs as she looks at the paused screen showing a freeze frame of the golden trio. "It's just...at dinner. He seemed really upset that he didn't get to sit beside you. And you have those nicknames for each other...." she explains before trailing off.
You scrunch your face before shrugging, "I mean it's nothing? It's like he said. We always sit together. And he always calls me Sherlock just because he thinks I'm smart and help him with homework sometimes. So I just call him Watson in return".
She looks at you for a second longer before looking into your eyes, "So there's... nothing going on between you two?"
It takes a second for you to grasp what she's insinuating but once it finally clicks you gasp. "What! Wha? No! No no Less! It's not like that at all!" You almost gag at the thought, "God no!"
You shake your head, "No Less it's nothing like that. We just get along really well. God he's like a brother to me!"
Alessia laughs at how off put you are but the mere suggestion of the two of you dating but judging by the small blush on her face you can still tell she's slightly embarrassed by asking that now.
You take her hand and again give it a small squeeze paired with a smile, "Trust me Less. I will never date Luca. Ever". You give her a wink, "Like you said. I have a new favorite Russo after all".
She smiles brightly at the reassurance. Her head drops into your shoulder as you nuzzle into the back of her head. You stay like that a moment before the two of you decide to turn back to the movie. It's not long after the two of you are leaning up against each other discussing which Houses you would both be in.
It wasn't till later your mother came to tell you it was time to go home when both your mother and Carol found the two of you curled up together as Alessia had her arms wrapped around you as you were settled into her leaning your head against her shoulder.
~~~
Honestly you didn't wake up today expecting to be rugby tackled. Let alone by a soccer player of all people.
You had been at your locker gathering books for your next classes when you had heard rapid steps coming up to you. You didn't even have time to turn as there was suddenly arms around your waist and your lifted off the ground.
You let out a yelp as you drop your books clinging onto the arms around you in fear of being dropped. When you finally are put back on the ground, you turn ready to rip whoever had the audacity to touch you, but you quickly stop when you see Alessia smiling brightly at you.
"Less! What the hell is up with you?" You whisper shout at her as you brace yourself on her arms trying to ignore the small thought in your head as you realise her hands were still on your waist.
But she doesn't say anything. Instead she just pulls out a sheet of paper as she holds it up doing a small little dance on the spot. "I passed!" She cheered as she shows you proudly the 84% marked at the top of the test.
Your eyes widen before you smile. "Less! You didn't just pass, you aced it!" You beam as you smile up at her. "Gosh Less I knew you could do it!"
Alessia is practically bouncing on the spot in glee before launching herself at you once more this time in a hug. The embrace nearly sends you to the floor if not for you balancing the two of you against your locker.
Honestly you weren't used to much affection apart from hugs from your mom and occasionally Carol.
But since you started to become closer with Alessia you were slowly getting more comfortable with touch. Purely because Alessia was very touchy. The girl had an affinity for hugs and small touches.
But it wasn't even that you just got use to the touches.
It was how patient she was with you when she found out you just weren't use to unfamiliar touch. How she noticed the first time she hugged you, you froze up. Or the time she grabbed your hand you flinched away. She was starting to think it was her until you sheepishly smiled and told her you just weren't used to touch.
It was then how she would always check to see if it was okay first. Instead of grabbing your hand she would offer it first. How she would usually wait for you to make the first move for a hug or anything physical as to make sure you were comfortable.
She was patient with you until you grew okay with her touch. If you were being completely honest with yourself, you probably had started to like it a bit too much.
Like in this instance, where you can feel yourself sink into the hug. Liking how safe and warm you felt in her arms. While you usually cursed your height difference as it gave the Russo girl something to tease you about, it worked perfectly for hugs. As you slotted together perfectly with your head tucked right into her neck. With hers rest on the top of your crown. In her excitement she gave you a kiss on the top of your head.
But reality seemed to hit you all at once as you started to recognize the looks and whispers from your classmates.
You suppose it was an unusual sight to see the resident nerd with the school's soccer superstar and It girl.
You cleared your throat shifting slightly uncomfortable under people's stares but still gave Alessia a smile. The girl was so escatic that she didn't even notice.
"Seriously I couldn't have done it without you, I don't know how to thank you" Alessia said, grateful.
You couldn't help but soften at that as you momentarily forget about all the eyes on you. You shook your head lightly, "This was all you Less. You worked hard for this". You squeezed her forearm lightly, "You deserve this. I'm proud of you".
That seemed to turn the girl shy as she smiled with a light blush dusting her face. She cleared her throat before realizing your books were still laid on the floor.
She quickly picked them up for you as she slipped them back into your hands with a smile, "I better go I'm going to be late to class I just had to tell you about the test". "But I'll still see you later then yeah?" She quickly asks as you zip up your bag.
That made you raise a brow. "You still want to study together? But you passed?"
There was a subtle roll of her eyes but you ignored it. What you couldn't ignore was how she bit the bottom of her lip almost as if she tried to contain a smile. "Yeah but I still need to keep the grade up now don't I?" She teased making it your turn to roll your eyes.
She giggled but smiled at you, "Despite what you might believe I actually enjoy our study sessions now and would hate for them to stop".
She smirked, "Besides, our mothers like us hanging out. And I'd say they will have a fit if we went back to how things used to be. They enjoy using us as an excuse to hang out I think".
You let out a laugh with a nod agreeing with her.
She started backpedaling as she realized she was about to be late for class. "So I'll see you later?"
You nodded, "Yeah I'll see you later".
She smiled and turned making her way through the sea of people. You couldn't describe how you feeling as you watched her walk down the corridor.
It wasn't until your breathing hitched as she turned to look at you over her shoulder. Even though she was half away down the hallway you could still see her beautiful blue eyes paired with her perfect beaming smile.
It was only then you realized how fucked you were as you came to the realization.
You were being to fall for Alessia Russo.
a dangerous new hobby II a.russo
"less? babe i'm home!" you called out as the door clicked shut behind you, kicking off your shoes and hanging your jacket up, the house feeling a hundred degrees warmer than the bitter frost of outside you'd just trudged through.
you heard her before you saw her, footsteps making their way toward you as you were halfway done unwrapping your scarf when the blonde appeared.
"hi baby.” the familiar comfort of her accent warmed you just as much as the ac, her hands grabbing the scarf you were trying to untangle and using it to tug your body into hers making you laugh.
"i missed you." the striker exhaled, wiggling your bodies as she squished you tightly making you laugh.
“i wasn’t even gone for two hours less.” you grinned tilting your chin up slightly, smile widening as the girl sweetly pecked your lips a few times in greeting.
"is something baking?" you questioned with a frown as you sniffed the air, stepping back as your girlfriend made quick work of removing your scarf and hanging it up for you. "yes! i have been baking." alessia beamed happily as you gave her a look of uncertainty.
ever since she'd felt a twang in her knee and been benched to rest the poor girl was going absolutely stir crazy, only really leaving the house to attend games or rehab.
which had lead to her trying to find any and every way to occupy herself while you weren't home to engage her attention and focus.
"right..." you trailed off slowly, your girlfriend scowling unhappily at your lackluster response. "and what is that supposed to mean?” alessia huffed crossing her arms over her chest and staring you down with a perfectly manicured eyebrow raised toward you.
“you just aren't normally the best baker in this relationship my love, thats all. but still such a wonderful cook!” you replied gently, trying to approach it in the nicest way possible and sugar coat the truth, which was that alessia was yet to actually bake something that wasn’t raw or burnt, in fact just yesterday she’d somehow managed a tray of cookies that were black on the outside and still sludgy undercooked mush in the middle.
"well thank you for that unwavering vote of confidence!" alessia grumbled with a roll of her eyes. "i just have a big meeting tomorrow that i can't miss due to a case of mild to severe food poisoning baby, thats all." you smiled with a wink before slyly ducking around her.
"oi! come here." you tried to take off but you weren't fast enough as long arms wrapped around your waist and tugged you off the ground. "alessia your knee! put me down." you smacked her shoulder sternly as she easily held you up.
"its fine! you stress more than leah and thats saying something love." her free hand connected with your bum as she manhandled you into the kitchen and forcefully sat you down into a stool by the island.
"i stress because i care and i care because if you properly do your knee some damage and i have to play nurse for another few months, i fear our relationship may not survive because you are a terrible patient!" you shook your head at the memory, trying to crane your neck to see what she was pulling out of the oven, but to no luck as her body blocked the view.
"i was not!"
“oh yes you were. for the first couple weeks you refused to sit still, drove your teammates up the wall with your sideline coaching, drove me up the wall with your inabiity to listen, you-"
“yeah alright! jesus what is it pick on alessia day?" your girlfriend scoffed and turned her back toward you with a shake of her head.
"thats every day my love." you bit back with a grin as she turned to wag a finger in your direction. "cheeky girl." the blonde tutted grabbing you a glass of wine which you thanked her for with a kiss.
"you know i didn't mind that little nurses uniform you had, maybe i might have to hurt my knee again." alessia grinned as you again smacked her shoulder. "maybe for your birthday if you're lucky russo. you and your super knee need to get back to scoring goals on the pitch before you can score any off of it." her face brightened at that making your lips curl into a slight smile of amusement.
"so do i get to know what im taste testing? after all you do need to be able to tell the doctor the cause of my death." you sipped at the wine with a smirk as alessia turned around hands on hips.
"i slave away all day over a hot oven to cop this ungrateful attitude, you're looking the right way to be single by the weekend.” the forward waved a wooden spoon at you only furthering your grin, enjoying this switch in power dynamic as normally it was alessias constant little teasing comments which grated at you.
"i'll make sure my next girlfriends a proper baker then, free carbs on tap and no risk of severe illness." you continued to poke at her with a smile, the blonde now choosing to ignore you as she fussed over whatever likely under or over baked good she was shielding from view.
"get out of my face and go shower!" the taller girl shooed you off as you grinned, darting over to kiss her sweetly before retreating to the bathroom, still in the dark about what it exactly was you'd be eating as alessia hurried to spin around and stretch out so you couldn’t see it which made your eyes roll.
but finally showered and feeling much more relaxed you sent a message to kyra warning that if you and alessia weren't heard from again the cause of death was her baking, the poor australian often the back up guinea pig whenever she’d come over after training.
the midfielder sending back a series of concerned emojis promised to come up and visit with coffee tomorrow morning, as clearly if alessia was baking again she was much more bored than originally letting on.
"baby, come try please!"
tucking away your phone you tugged on a pair of uggs given the winter chill and wandered downstairs, quite pleasantly surprised with the sight you walked into.
“oh less it looks lovely.” you admitted with a small smile, a two tier cake smothered in butter cream and clearly hand iced flowers sat middle of the table, the blonde having set it up with candles.
"five star service for you my girl." the striker smiled charmingly, pulling out and pushing in your seat for you, your hand balling her top and tugging her mouth down to meet yours for a moment in thanks.
you smiled utterly smitten as alessia cut the pair of you a slice each, tapping her lips for another kiss before setting the plate down in front of you and sitting on your left.
"go on then! eat it, see if its edible." the girl mocked with a roll of her eyes, taking a large bite of her own piece and not showing any signs of disgust.
so with a little less hesitation than before you stabbed up a forkful and slipped it into your mouth, eyebrows furrowing as alessia watched on awaiting a reaction.
your eyes widened as you chewed and swallowed, alessias smile turning smug at your obvious delight as you quickly took up another large forkful of cake and groaned happily.
"good then?" "delicious less holy shit!"
"you know my love if football doesn't work out i think we've worked out your backup career. next star of the great british bake off!" you complimented with a wink making her laugh.
"well making you happy makes me happy." the blonde smiled as you leaned across to kiss her again, mumbling an apology for doubting her against her icing covered lips.
"you know love i think i'll take my apology in the form of that little nurses costume tonight. all this baking and decorating suddenly has my knee playing up!" alessia winced dramatically as you snickered.
“mmm poor baby.” you pouted sarcastically, poking your fork back into the cake and shaking your head with amusement as alessia carried on her performance of pain, grinning at the small laugh you couldn’t hold back at her theatrics.
it was in that moment you decided not to mention the cake box from your favourite bakery you’d noticed poorly hidden and wedged behind the bins when you arrived home.
how convenient | alessia russo x child!reader x leah williamson
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
grumpy masterlist | if you haven’t already i would recommend reading first heartbreak to get up to speed
the sidelines of the pitch buzzed with the usual saturday morning chaos — parent's chatting, children chasing stray footballs as whistles blowed too often and not enough. but leah had stood still, arms folded across her chest. her eyes locked on the man across the field.
harrison.
it was almost poetic, convenient if you will, even if it didn't make her stomach twist that the next time she saw him would be here.
at your football game. the one he was meant to show up for last time. the one he'd promised. the one he then conveniently forgot.
leah could still hear alessia's voice over the phone, quiet and tired as she'd spent the entire evening calming you down as the tried her best to stay calm over the phone as she retold the story to leah. 'she asked me if he even loved her, le.'
and that was it. that was the line.
you deserved a hell of a lot better than a broken promise with whiskey on its breath.
so leah waited, watching your entire game. you playing with that familiar fierce focus which had been missing the previous week as your blonde curls bounced as you ran for the ball. but something in your movement lacked the usual sparkle — it hadn't properly returned since that weekend.
when harrison finally wandered to the edge of the field, the game now finished. he’d been there since the 14th minute — leah had been watching.
a coffee cup in one of his hands, phone in the other, looking more like he'd stumbled out of bed then just stepped into fatherhood afterwards.
leah didn't hesitate after making sure that both alessia and you were occupied and distracted. you running circles with your teammates as alessia spoke to some of their parents, engrossed in a deep conversation. so you both wouldn't see what leah was up to.
"didn't think you had it in you to show up this time," she said, quiet but cutting sharp.
harrison blinked, startled, then smirked faintly, "leah. thought i might run into you today."
"lucky me."
he sipped his coffee looking out to the field, avoiding eye contact with leah. "so i take it less has sent you over here to lecture me then?"
"no, she doesn't even know i'm over here talking to you. i'm just here to watch the kid, who actually showed up."
his jaw twitched slightly, "look, i know i messed up. i didn't mean to forget - i had a lot going on that day."
leah raising an eyebrow humming slightly at his well, pathetic words, "enough going on that you forget your own daughters name?"
he flinched, taking another sip from his coffee. a beat of silence falling over the two as they both looked over the field, arms leaning against the barrier.
"i said i was hungover. i didn't mean it. i was half asleep, and—"
"—and yet you still found time to answer a phone you didn't remember promising her on."
there was another beat of silence, for a second too long, and then his face hardened.
"you don't know what it's like," he muttered, jaw clenched. "you don't know me, you don't know what i've got going on. what we had, how hard it was. you think because you're playing happy families with my ex and my kid, you know everything?"
leah took one step closer, her voice dropping into steel. "i know enough."
he just scoffed, amused almost as a smirk appeared on his face. "no, mate you know alessia's version. that's it."
"no, mate. i know a hell of a lot more than you." that stopped him in his tracks.
"i know how before she goes to bed she has to say goodnight to all of her teddy’s so that they don’t go to sleep sad. i know how she still draws you in every picture she makes cause she doesn't want to hurt your feelings. i know how hard alessia fights not to to bad-mouth you in front of her - no matter how angry she is with you. i know what it looks like when a little girl asks if her dad really loves her—and means it."
harrison looked away. he didn't say anything. he didn't have anything to defend him self with.
"you think this is about you and alessia? this isn't about who's in her bed now." leah added her voice quieter now, but somehow more dangerous. "it's not. it's about that little girl you keep letting down. and if you're not going to be a dad and a proper one at that then don't expect the world to wait while you try and figure out how."
for a moment, the only sound was the distant sound of children giggling and parents chatting as the field started to get less busier of people, the morning of football starting to slow down.
then—
"she's my daughter" harrison said, but it didn't sound as strong as convincing as he wanted it to.
"your right she is, so start fucking acting like it" leah replied, snappy and sharp as if she had a response to every thing he said. "because she deserves better and she not going to keep giving you pieces of herself for you to just drop every time it's convenient for you."
leah turned without waiting for a reply, she didn't want to listen to his pathetic voice any longer. she'd heard enough and said what she wanted to say.
watching as the group of parents surrounding alessia's was getting smaller, as she jogged to catch up with you two. alessia looked over her shoulder, sensing leah's presence. "you all good?"
leah reached for alessia's hand, slipping her fingers effortlessly between hers with ease, "yeah, just had something to take care of."
alessia raised an eyebrow, curious but also didn't push. instead making a mental note to ask later on. "that right?"
"yep, all sorted though. don't worry, love"
you rushed back to leah and alessia having said goodbye to your friends, as you were already mid-sentence. "did you see when i almost scored mama? i kicked it so hard!"
leah grinned, the tension easing from her shoulders just at the sound of your voice as she ruffled your hair, "i saw, you were brilliant today, you little superstar!"
and as the three of them walked off the field, you chattering away, alessia leaning in close as leah anchored them to her side — harrison being left stood alone in his own thoughts by the sideline .
watching what it looked like when someone actually showed up.
Leah Williamson was already having a terrible morning.
Her alarm hadn’t gone off (or maybe she just slept through it, but she refused to take the blame for that). Alessia had been knocking on her door for what felt like hours, yelling about how they were already late. Kyra was waiting outside, arms crossed, looking like she was deciding whether to kill Leah or just let Rénne Slegers do it.
And now? Now she was speeding down the road, foot pressed a little too hard on the accelerator, because if they were late, they were dead.
“Leah, slow down!” Alessia snapped, gripping the handle above the door like her life depended on it.
“Yeah, mate, I’d rather be late than in a ditch,” Kyra added, bracing against the dashboard.
Leah scoffed. “We’re already late. I’m just trying to get us there before Rénne decides we’re bench material for the next five years.”
What she didn’t notice—because she was too busy being stubborn—was the police car parked on the side of the road. The blue and red lights flashed to life the second she sped past, and Leah’s stomach sank.
“Are you serious?” Alessia groaned.
“You absolute idiot,” Kyra muttered, sinking into her seat.
“Maybe they’re not pulling me over,” Leah said, but as soon as she did, the sirens blared.
“Pull. Over. Now,” Alessia ordered.
Leah let out the longest groan of her life, slamming her palm against the steering wheel as she slowed down and pulled onto the side of the road. She didn’t look at Kyra or Alessia, but she could feel their judgment.
“You’re so dumb,” Kyra said under her breath.
A firm knock on the driver’s side window made Leah jump.
“Roll it down,” came a voice—stern, no-nonsense.
Leah turned her head, and—okay, well, this was unexpected.
The officer standing outside was… intimidating, to say the least. Your arms were crossed, muscles straining against the sleeves of your uniform.
The tattoos covering your forearms were the kind that told stories—intricate designs Leah wanted to trace just to see where they led. Your sharp gaze flickered from her to the rest of the car’s occupants, and for a moment, Leah forgot she was in trouble.
“Window,” you repeated.
Leah scrambled to roll it down. “Good morning, officer,” she said, flashing a hopeful smile.
“Licence and registration,” you deadpanned.
Leah swallowed. “Uh, yeah, one sec.” She fumbled around for her wallet while Alessia and Kyra sat in complete silence, staring straight ahead like they wanted no part in this.
As Leah handed over her ID, she swore she saw the corner of your lip twitch, just slightly, before you schooled your expression back into something unreadable. You looked down at her licence, then back at her.
“You in a hurry, Miss Williamson?”
Leah cleared her throat. “Uh, yeah. We’re late for training.”
“You do realise speeding isn’t going to make that better?”
“I do now,” Leah muttered.
You sighed, glancing over at Kyra and Alessia. “And you two?”
“Oh, we told her to slow down,” Kyra said immediately.
“Multiple times,” Alessia added.
Leah shot them a betrayed look. “Wow, thanks for the support.”
You handed her ID back. “I should be writing you a ticket.”
Leah winced. “But…?”
You exhaled, shaking your head. “But I’m giving you a warning. No ticket. This time.”
Leah blinked. “Oh. Wow. Thanks, officer.”
You didn’t reply, just gave her one last look—one that sent an annoying shiver down her spine—before turning on your heel and walking back to your car. Leah sat frozen for a second, watching the way your uniform pulled against your back as you walked away.
When you got into your cruiser and Leah was sure you weren’t about to change your mind, she started the car again and pulled back onto the road.
There was a beat of silence.
Then—
“She was so hot,” Leah blurted.
Alessia groaned. “Leah—”
“I mean, did you see her? The tattoos? The arms? The voice? I think I just developed a cop kink.”
Kyra gagged. “Oh my god, please shut up.”
“She could’ve arrested me, and I would’ve thanked her,” Leah continued, eyes still wide, voice filled with far too much admiration.
“Leah,” Alessia warned.
“I would’ve asked her to frisk me.”
“I’m jumping out of the car,” Kyra announced.
“I’m so serious,” Leah went on. “I might start speeding in this area on purpose.”
Alessia shot her a glare. “You do that, and I’m telling Rénne.”
Leah gasped. “You wouldn’t.”
Oh, I would.”
Leah sighed dramatically, finally falling silent.
For a moment, there was peace.
Then, under her breath—
“Bet she looks good in handcuffs.”
“Leah!”
It was around half eleven in the morning, the gentle sound of the radio and the boiling of the kettle filled the silence of the kitchen. You stood, humming quietly, swaying side to side as you waited for the kettle to come to a boil.
Alessia was still fast asleep, her mind reminiscing the soft tender touches the two of you shared last night. Whilst she slept, you thought to make her breakfast in bed. A plate of pancakes and fruit were to the side of you as you made her some tea.
Today was Valentine's day. A day you wanted to make extra special for her. The two of you had been together for nearly three years, having met during an England call up the both of you had been inseparable since.
Once everything was prepared, you placed it all on a tray and carefully made your way back into your shared bedroom. Pushing the door open gently with your foot, you were met with Alessia’s back, the blonde having rolled over in the time you were downstairs.
Placing the breakfast on Alessia’s bedside table, you sat yourself down by her side and tenderly brushed a loose strand of hair that fell over her eyes behind her ear.
“Less,” you whispered, placing your hand on her shoulder.
Slowly, the blonde started to stir, her eyes fluttering open but closing as soon as they were hit by the bright sun rays.
“I made you some breakfast,” you said softly, pulling the tray onto your lap.
“Thank you, baby,” Alessia mumbled, turning onto her back and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
“Of course,” you smiled, watching her pull herself up against the headboard.
“What time is it?” Alessia asked, pecking your lips as you placed her breakfast on her lap.
“Nearly midday,” you replied, smiling at her widened eyes.
“I’ve never slept in so late,” Alessia said, taking a bite out of one of the pancakes.
“And whose fault is that?” you said, tilting your head in a teasing manner.
“Yours,” Alessia said, taking another bite before offering a pancake to you.
“Mhm, sure it was,” you hummed, taking a small bite from her fork and letting her finish the rest.
Alessia didn't reply, only huffing out a small laugh, knowing exactly why she slept in so late. Her aching legs being a constant reminder. She finished off her breakfast, feeding you the occasional pancake or chunk of fruit, until there was nothing left on her plate.
Taking the tray from her lap, you placed it on the floor. You placed an arm over her legs, effectively trapping her to the bed under your body. The two of you didn’t say anything, just enjoying the company of one another.
Not being able to stop yourself, you let a smile form on your face before you shuffled up and started placing delicate kisses over Alessia’s face. A kiss for each of her freckles.
Both of your hands reached up to cup her face, bringing your lips down onto hers, feeling the warmth of her breath against yours. You could feel Alessia smile against your lips, the gesture driving you to insanity.
Pulling away slowly, your eyes met Alessia’s, the corners of her lips pulled proudly into a smile. Your heart fluttered at the sight, you couldn't believe that she was yours. You truly felt like the luckiest person on the planet.
“What was that for?” Alessia asked, wiping a thumb over your cheekbone. “Not that I'm complaining.”
“Just felt like it,” you shrugged, leaning back and reluctantly getting up.
Picking up the tray from the floor you made your way to the bedroom door, turning back round before you left.
“Where are you going?” Alessia questioned, confused that you weren’t staying with her longer.
“You need to get dressed,” you said, glancing at the time. “We’re going to be late.”
“Late?” Alessia wondered, sitting herself up. “Late for what?”
“You’ll see, just get dressed,” you replied, being discreet on purpose.
Walking back downstairs, you quickly wash the dishes and put them back in their designated places before going to the guest bedroom to get ready yourself.
Quickly hopping in the shower, you get yourself ready for the day. With your outfit, you chose to go smart but casual, a perfect combination for the day.
Having got ready in the guest bedroom to give Alessia a little space, you walked back into your bedroom, sitting on the edge of your bed as you waited for her to come out of the bathroom.
Hearing the door creak open, you snap your head up to your girlfriend, unable to take your eyes off her as she walked out in nothing but a towel, small droplets of water falling off her face.
Alessia, knowing the effect she had on you, decided to tease you. She turned around, looking in the wardrobe and dropping the towel to the floor. Your eyes trailed over her body and although she couldn’t see you, she knew what you were doing.
You bit your knuckles, trying to stop yourself from smiling as you watched Alessia get herself ready. Once the blonde turned around, you were quick to get up on your feet.
Taking one step forward, you cupped your hand around her jaw and pulled her into a bruising kiss before parting slightly and saying, “We won’t be going anywhere at this rate.”
“You were the one to decide to go out for the day,” Alessia shrugged, a teasing smile on her lips.
Shaking your head, you huff out a laugh, dropping your hand back to your side.
“You ready to go?” you asked, pulling a coat out of the wardrobe and putting it on.
“Yeah,” Alessia nodded, following you out of your bedroom and to the car.
Sitting in the driver's seat, you started up the car and looked in your mirrors. Double checking it was safe to pull out of your spot, you placed your arm around the back of Alessia’s chair and began to reverse.
Using one hand on the steering wheel to reverse, Alessia watched you carefully. Going from the way your hand manoeuvred around the steering wheel effortlessly to how your side profile was on full display as you looked out the back window.
The drive there didn't take long and before you knew it you were pulling up into a parking space. Turning the car off, you got out and walked around to Alessia’s side, opening the door for her.
Placing a kiss on your cheek as a thank you, the two of you walked down the street hand in hand until you reached your destination.
“Why are we here?” Alessia questioned, looking up at the small building.
“It's a baking class!” you said happily, looking down at Alessia with a smile.
“Are you trying to tell me something?” Alessia mumbled, looking up at you with a playful glare.
“Never,” you replied teasingly.
The two of you walked in, greeted by a little old lady beaming happily. She took you both to a back room where three other couples were already situated. Placing your coats on the hangers behind you, you put on some aprons and waited for your instructions.
In front of you was a table covered in an abundance of items scattered all over the top. The little old lady stood at the front of the room, addressing what you would be doing.
Alessia grinned at you at the mention of cookies, her excitement increasing tenfold. The lady executed each step with the intent of you following, although she seemed to underestimate that you and flour were a bad mix.
Pouring some into your hand, you blew the white powder into Alessia’s face. The blond turned to look at you with an evident scowl on her features. Taking it as a challenge, Alessia also grabbed some flour, throwing a handful back at you.
The old lady gave the two of you a scolding look causing you both to laugh and get back to the task at hand. After making the sugar cookies and putting them in the oven, the next task was making the icing.
You and Alessia placed multiple icing bags around your table each of them containing different colour icing, ready for the cookies to come out.
After taking the cookies out of the oven and waiting for them to cool down, it was finally time to decorate them. You had four and Alessia had four, the two of you decorating your own to then give to each other after.
Every now and then, Alessia would glance over to you watching every move you made. The way you stuck your tongue out in concentration or how your arms flexed as you squeezed the icing bag, even noticing the veins that crawled from your hand up to your arm.
Once you were happy with your cookies, you squeezed the last remaining icing into your mouth waiting patiently for Alessia to finish hers. Hearing a chuckle from beside you, you turned to look at Alessia. Raising an eyebrow in question you wondered what she was laughing at.
“What’s funny?” you wondered, your voice coming out muffled due to the icing in your mouth.
“Nothing,” Alessia smiled, shaking her head as she let out another soft laugh.
Still not quite believing her, you shrugged your shoulders and turned your face to glance around the room when she took a hold of each side of your face. Alessia used the pad of her thumb and brushed it along your lip, clearing away the icing that was there.
As she pulled away she kept her eyes locked with yours, licking the icing off her thumb and smiling to herself at your reaction. You couldn't help the blush that creeped up the back of your neck to the tips of your ears.
Having finished decorating her cookies, Alessia shielded her finished product from your view. She thanked the old lady when she came round with some boxes to put them in and you both put them in separate containers.
You put the aprons back where you found them, washing the four off your faces as well, before putting your coats back on, and leaving the little shop.
The two of you walked hand in hand down the street, turning a few corners and making your way into a park. You and Alessia talked about anything and everything before you found a bench overlooking a lake.
Placing your boxes beside one another, Alessia rested her head on your shoulder, taking a deep breath in and sighing contentedly as you wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer into you.
“Do you want a cookie?” you asked quietly, trying not to disturb the tranquillity between you both.
“Yes please,” Alessia said, lifting her head from your shoulder.
Turning to your side, you opened your box, pulling out a cookie and handing it to Alessia. Taking it from your hands, she chuckled as she read the writing on it.
“Do you like it?” you questioned, looking down at the cookie which read, ‘be my baby’.
“I’m already your baby,” Alessia smiled, taking a bite, closing her eyes and humming at the taste.
“Forever?” you said a little nervously, holding out another cookie which read, ‘marry me?’
“A-are you serious?” Alessia mumbled, eyes wide open in complete shock.
“You’re it for me, Russo. There's no one I'd rather spend the rest of my life with,” you nodded, placing Alessia’s cookies back in the box and taking a hold of her hands. “I don't know how you do it, but every day I fall more and more in love with you. You’re continuously pulling me in, so much so, that if you leave me I'd simply break. I am hopelessly, irretrievably in love with you.”
“I -” Alessia sniffled, struggling to find the words as she looked into your eyes, tears flowing down her face. “I love you so much.”
“It’s always you, Less. Always has been and always will be. You’re my person. You’re my home.” you said, tears of your own forming in your eyes.
Taking in a deep breath, you stood up from the bench pulling Alessia up with you. She watched you carefully as you reached into your pocket and pulled out a small black box. With her hands shaking and breathing ragged, her heart pounded as she watched you get down on one knee in front of her.
“Alessia Mia Teresa Russo,” you started, opening the box to reveal a glittering ring inside. “Will you marry me?”
Unable to form a coherent sentence, Alessia nodded through her tears and choked out a ‘yes’.
Getting up from the floor, you took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto Alessia’s finger. Alessia practically threw herself into your arms, smashing her lips against yours in a kiss full of love and passion.
You both reluctantly pulled away, looking into each other's eyes. The two of you reciprocating one anothers smiles.
“I can’t wait to call you my wife,” you mumbled, placing delicate kisses on Alessia’s lips.
“Me neither,” Alessia smiled, pulling you back into a kiss.
look at us now (2) II Renée Slegers x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
romantic masterlist | platonic masterlist | part 1 | word count: 1695
summary: the team tries to figure out if Renée and reader are in a relationship or just friendly with each other. requested
author's note: hi everyone, we hope you enjoy the fanfic as much as part one. 🫶🏻🫶🏻
disclaimer: Everything in this fanfiction is purely fictional and nothing corresponds to reality.
Tumblr media
Rekindling your relationship with Renée had brought back the same feelings that you had when you dated her back in Sweden. Everything was easy with Renée. You felt safe and secure, loved and cared for. And you loved taking care of her too by making sure she didn’t work until late at night and took enough breaks. The only difference to back then was that this time you decided to keep it a secret.
It should have been easy. You two were professionals after all. But seeing Renée so deflated after Arsenal just lost to Chelsea, made it really hard not to walk over and put your arms around her.
As if she was looking for your closeness, she appeared next to you in the tunnel.
“We were so close.”, she sighed.
You gently put your hand on her upper arm, trying your best to stay positive: “Don’t be upset. It was a good game.”
“I’m not upset. Our team did well but what am I going to tell them? They will be sad and disappointed because of the loss…”
You studied her for a moment, unsure if she was actually talking about your team or herself.
“You’ll find the right words, Renée. You’re never at a loss for words.”, you smiled gently.
Renée didn’t answer. She turned towards the pitch, making sure that no one could see the two of you hidden in the dark hallway leading towards the dressing rooms. And then she kissed you.
It was quick and grateful. A small gesture to let you know that she was happy to have you in her corner.
When you pulled away, you quickly realised that you weren’t alone anymore.
The Chelsea coach passed by, her assistant by her side and to your surprise she winked at you.
“I think your players are looking for you two.“, she said with her strong French accent.
“Oh… uhm , thanks.”, you stammered, the shock of being caught still lingering.
She left with a knowing smile on her lips: “De rien.”
“I think what she wanted to say was you’re welcome. Come on, the girls need us.”, Renée grinned, seemingly unbothered by the interaction and dragged you with her back towards the pitch.
“Hope you have some ideas for your speech now.“, you laughed.
“I do.”
Before Renée could gather the team, Kim came up to you. She frowned, holding herself like she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders. You weren’t sure if you had ever seen your captain so devastated.
“I’m sorry, coach. I don’t know why I tried to stop Lauren James in the penalty area.”, she apologized, her voice steady but not free of frustration.
Your heart ached for your captain.
“It happens and it’s okay. You were trying to help the defence out. Yes, maybe we lost the match today but also showed that we can keep up with Chelsea. And this is what we should take away from this game.”, Renée said patiently as more and more players formed a circle around you.
Leah clapped her hands with a determined face: “That’s right. We get up and learn from it. Next time, we’ll beat them.”
“Exactly that.”, Renée nodded. The blonde defender's words of encouragement seemed to lighten the load on the players' shoulders a little. Only one footballer looked completely miserable.
As you whispered in Kim’s ear, you hugged her gently:” Don’t be too hard on yourself, Kimmy.”
“I’ll try to.”, she replied with an unhappy smile.
“Promise?”
‘Sure,’ the captain shrugged before making her way to the changing room. It was heartbreaking to see her in this state.
On another evening you attended your first dinner with the team. Between the starters and the main course, Alessia asked you something private, to which you laughed awkwardly.
Reprovingly you clicked your tongue: “Alessia.”
“What I was asking you a simple question.”, she answered, sounding quite innocent.
“That’s not a question that belongs here.”, you stated.
The blonde immediately protested not without a smile:” If you’re seeing anyone? But you know everything about us.”
“Just because you tell her a lot about yourself doesn't mean she has to.”, Renée came to your aid.
With a teasing smile on your lips, you added: “And I never asked you to share everything with me. And I mean literally everything.”
“Hey, why are you looking at me while you said that?!”, Kyra pouted.
“Because I really don’t need to know what you’ve for breakfast. Every day.”, you chuckled.
The Australian midfielder couldn't help but burst out laughing too:” A girl likes to yap, okay?”
“Everyone here knows.”, Steph assured her, patting her lightly on the shoulder.
Caitlin, who was sitting next to them, confirmed it.
You needed a moment for yourself, so you went to the dimly lit restaurant’s bathroom, your girlfriend followed a few minutes later.
There was an amused twinkle in her brown eyes:” Our players are very interested in your love life.”
“I don’t know why though.”, you sighed as she hugged you from behind.
In a sincere tone Renée retorted: “Me neither.”
“When can we go to your place?”, you asked your girlfriend longingly.
“Not yet. They might notice.”
“Maybe we should leave around different times? So, it’s not too obvious.”, you suggested. co
The brunette thought about it for a second, then announced: “Good idea. I’ll leave first.”
After Renée was gone, Beth noticed: “Coach left early.”,
“You know her, there’s always work.”, you waved it off.
“And she likes to be prepared.”, Leah continued.
With a glance at the clock, you realized:” But it’s also late, girls.”
“Don’t say you’re going too.”, Kyra looked at you with big eyes.
“Yes, I am. Bye everyone.”, you told the players.
As soon as you were out of sight, Beth turned excitedly to her teammates: “Girls, did you notice how long the farewell hug was between Renée and our new assistant coach?”
“You’re overinterpreting here, Beth.”, Stina countered.
Quickly, Alessia disagreed: “I think she has a point.”
“Oh, please.”, the Swede rolled her eyes.
“But she didn’t want to talk about it either.”, the English striker reminded the fellow blonde.
A smile lit up Leah's face when she admitted: “Yes, that was suspicious.”
Stina shook her head: “They’ve been over it for a long time.”
“If you say so…”, Beth shrugged, ending the conversation but the sparkle in her eyes was evidence enough that she wasn’t ready to drop the topic yet.
A week later, Arsenal faced Manchester City. The game was chaotic and all over the place. You could barely stay in your seat watching your players move around the pitch. Subconsciously, you cringed. Finally, you had enough. You got up and joined Renée on the sideline.
“Oh, I can’t look. This is turning into a basketball game, no midfield to be seen.”, you complained to her, desperately pointing towards your defensive and central midfielders trying to gain control of the game.
You could tell that Renée followed the game with growing concern but she turned towards you and joked: “If it was basketball, they would use their hands, y/n.”
You rolled your eyes and bit back in smile.
“Yes but still, where is our midfield? Get Lia on.”
Renée who had turned back to watch the game only glanced at you this time: “Calm down.”
“I am calm.”, you replied without taking your eyes off of your girlfriend.
“Good.”
Discussion over. You both focused back on the game.
The minutes passed and nothing changed. Finally, Renée gave in and called Lia over to be subbed in. You both shared a look before she entered the pitch. You raised your eyebrow to signal your girlfriend that you had told her so, to which Renée responded with a playful roll of her eyes.
With Lia on, the game started to stabilise. But still, it went back and forth between both teams. When the final whistle blew, Arsenal was one goal ahead, winning the game 3:4.
You snuck up to Renée and grinned at her: “See? Getting Lia in was a good idea.”
“Yes, but it wasn’t only that sub.”, she said cooly, still staring out on the pitch and reflecting on the game.
“Of course not.”
Renée finally looked at you and nodded once: “But important three points.”
“Yes, we got a lot to take away from it too for when we play them again in a few days.”
“Yes, a lot of work for us.”, Renée agreed.
“We can do that.”
“I’m sure.” Renées face softened and a smile tugged on her lips as she dragged you along with her towards the player’s tunnel. She kissed you in the safety of the darkness as she so often did after games.
All of a sudden you felt the eyes of your players on you and began to clear your throat nervously: “Uhm Renée the team is staring at us.”
“What?”, your girlfriend followed your gaze with an alarmed look on her face.
Barely audible you whispered:”I think they saw the kiss.”
“Oh no.”, Renée began to curse.
With a proud smile on her lips Beth turned to her teammates:” I told you so, I was right girls!”
“They’re so cute.”, Alessi chirmed much to your surprise.
An amused chuckle escaped your lips:” You know that we can hear you, right?”
“Yes, we do.”, Leah smirked.
Renée ran her fingers through her hair flustered, trying to take her players’ minds off the kiss: “We should give our thanks to our travelling fans.”
“Come on, coach. It’s fine. You don’t have to distract.”, Beth assured the Dutch woman.
The England captain quickly added: “Yeah, we’re glad to see you this happy.”
Without words, Renée picked up Beth, while both started to laugh out loud.
“I think you can tell that she’s happy.”, you remarked smiling.
A teasing grin played around your girlfriend’s lips: “Oh, can you? But yes, I am What about you, love?”
“Our team won, and I got a gorgeous woman on my side. I can’t complain.”, you replied cheerfully.
And this much was true, if you looked at the two of you now, you wouldn’t change a thing.
thoughts on omega kyra x alpha alessia ? or the other way around could work too
Alpha Alessia x Omega Kyra smutty HC/Drabble
Tumblr media
Two whiney and very vocal babys.
I can see them doing alot of mutual masterbation before actually fucking for the first time.
And its SUCH a pretty sight;
alpha alessia jerking her big pretty cock, biting her lip as she moans and looks at kyras pussy.
Kyra all hazzy eyed and loud moans as she harshly rubs at her clit, bouncing on a dildo she stole from leah.
and its only when she gets up that lessi realises its the dildo lessi gave leah thats a replica of her cock from the kits they all got.
It sends lessi over the edge and she grabs at kyra tugging her down into her lap on the breakrooms couch.
“If You like my cock so much, you should try the real thing baby” shes husk out biting at kyras neck and jaw as she holds her cock still for kyra to sink down on.
Kyra blushing bright red and quickly taking her, moaning when she feels even better than the toy.
Lessi smirking saying yeah ive grown a little bit since then baby girl and kys just a babbling cock drunk mess
Telling lessi how good her cock is, how she spent weeks practicing with toys to able to take her
Lessi groaning at that and grabbing kys hips moving her to lean against her and panting her feet fucking up into kys pussy.
She has to remind herself about pulling our tho, steph will kill her if she gets the teams youngest omega knocked up but kyras pussy is so warm and tight and shes gripping lessis cock sooooo good….
She can’t help cumming when a yell of “DADDY!” Comes from the aussie and a little squirt hits her lap kyras body shaking as she slumps into the alpha.
“F-fuck baby” is all alessia can get out when she starts shooting ropes of cum into her, trying to pull out but kyra whimpers and moves her deeper making her tip kiss kyras cervix and a new orgasm rip through the both of them.
Courage of Fools - Alessia Russo/Reader
prompt: R always orders flowers on Fridays for Alessia since they're long distance. One Friday, Alessia doesn't get a delivery.
warnings: none
words: 2096
Tumblr media
“Come on, Less!” Leah called over her shoulder at the younger blonde who had been trailing behind checking her phone. “We’re at your house, mate. You’re the one who’s got to let us in.”
Alessia, however, wasn’t paying attention as she was checking the text messages that she had received while she was in practice today. But there was nothing from the one person she was hoping to have one from.
Alessia’s day had started out abysmally. After all she had been missing her person for weeks now. It had made her move to Arsenal a bit rough as she had to adjust to an entirely new team and home and the one person who was supposed to be here to go through it with her just had to be back in Los Angeles. She was getting radio silence from you all morning as well, but she didn’t let it get to her with the time difference and everything. You must have just fallen asleep before you sent Alessia a text to wake up to; it didn’t happen often, but it had happened before. Besides, it was Friday and that meant flowers.
Only when she opened the door, there were no flowers to greet her at the door like there normally were. The tradition had started when she had first moved back to England in late 2020. Her partner hadn’t been able to follow her. So Alessia had been pleasantly surprised to find the flowers waiting for her at her door that first Friday morning. But since then, Alessia always had a bouquet of flowers waiting for her at the door on Friday mornings whenever the two were apart.
Then, on top of that, Alessia had a horrible practice. She had been worrying all throughout the practice as to why she hadn’t gotten flowers that morning. Her mind immediately assuming the worst. But surely, if you had been injured then she would have been called. Maybe you met someone else, and this is how you breaking up with her then?
So, she had a horrible practice.
There were still no text messages from you either.
And, of course, Alessia had to offer up her place for the girls to come and hang out at once practice had wrapped up. But that had been before she didn’t get her flowers on Friday morning.
That’s why she was the last one to the door as her new Arsenal teammates had gathered on the porch waiting for the blonde striker to let them in to the house. Alessia slightly fumbled with the keys as her mind was still distracted. Maybe if she hadn’t been so distracted, she would have noticed the extra pair of shoes in the closet that definitely hadn’t been there this morning when she had gotten her own pair out.
“Okay, what’s wrong?” Beth finally asked.
Both of the elder lionesses had been quite aware that something else was affecting Alessia’s mood for the day, but neither of them could help the young striker if she didn’t open up to them. After all, Beth and Leah had promised each other that they would take care of Alessia once she joined them at Arsenal; same as they did for Lotte.
“She’s probably just missing (Y/N),” Lotte teased her friend before she started making kissy faces.
Alessia rolled her eyes as she shoved Lotte away. Lotte knowing of your and Alessia’s relationship since she had to unfortunately watch the two of you pining after each other for nearly two years before either of you had made a move on the other while you three were in college.
“(Y/N)?” Leah repeated the name. She shared a look with Beth as they settled onto the couch. Neither of them had ever heard Alessia talking about someone that she was involved with. “Who’s (Y/N)?”
“No one,” Alessia said a bit too quickly.
Alessia loved showing you off, but the two of you had been keen on keeping your relationship private. Alessia wasn’t sure how much privacy the two of you would have once her national teammates knew. It was bad enough when Tooney had caught the two of you while filming for her vlog because then Alessia had to convince her friend to delete the footage that she had.
“Lotte, who’s (Y/N)?” Leah asked as she turned to her fellow defender.
Lotte froze at that. She was quite aware that the two of you preferred privacy and Alessia had already refused to tell Leah and Beth about you. But it was Leah, and she would force Lotte to run extra the following day in practice and Lotte knew it.
“Just someone from college.”
“Just someone from college?” Leah asked. Her eyes darted between the two younger players. “But obviously someone who means enough if Alessia’s in a bad mood.”
“It’s none of your business,” Alessia snapped. She really didn’t want to deal with this, especially seeing as the two of you hadn’t gotten the chance to talk about finally introducing you to her teammates.
“Lessi, we just want to be able to help you,” Beth said softly. Alessia trained a glare on the other forward. Alessia knew that Beth and Leah were coming from a good place, it just happened to be at one of the worst times for her. “We can’t help you if we don’t know what’s going on.”
Before Alessia had a chance to say anything back, the four were frozen as the doorknob rattled behind them. Leah was absolutely certain that she had locked the door behind her once she entered the house.
(Y/N) POV
I faltered slightly once I caught sight of more than just Alessia in our living room. Considering Alessia’s Mercedes was outside, I knew that she was home, but I hadn’t been expecting her to have company. After all, I had been hoping to surprise her.
“(Y/N)!”
Lotte was the first one to get over the shock of seeing me as she barreled into me for a hug. I had to admit, it had been far too long since I had seen the defender. After all, she and Alessia had ended up at different clubs after they left UNC for the WSL, and I had spent a majority of my time with Alessia when I was able to visit.
I didn’t have time to rest because as soon as Lotte was out of my arms, Alessia was jumping in them. I stumbled back a couple of steps as Alessia wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere for a while,” I softly said before I pressed a kiss right under her ear.
Alessia stayed where she was wrapped around me for a few more moments, but I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable due to the audience we had. Had it just been Lotte, I wouldn’t have minded, but we did have a couple of Alessia’s other teammates here as well.
“I thought you forgot,” Alessia admitted once she unwrapped herself from me and took the flowers from my hands. I groaned as I rubbed my shoulder once she punched it after looking at the bouquet for a moment. “Or that something bad had happened, asshole. You didn’t text me and they weren’t waiting for me this morning.”
“I can’t surprise you?” I asked, causing Alessia to shake her head. Alessia did like to know my schedule so she knew when she could call me, but it often meant that I had to pay attention to her schedule as well or else she would forgo sleep just to talk to me all night. “We wrapped up recording yesterday morning. I called Richard down at Leaf in Peace and let him know that I wouldn’t need the flowers delivered this morning and that I’d come by so I could pick some out for you myself. Caught a red eye, dropped my bags off here, and then went to get the flowers.”
“You could have told me you were coming.”
I only shrugged at that as my gaze turned to the older two players in the living room who were watching us. I shuffled past Alessia to hold my hand out to the two.
“I’m (Y/N).”
The two only stared at my hand before turning to each other. I was about to drop my hand, but the taller blonde grabbed a hold of it before I could. I was a bit surprised when she pulled me closer to her.
“Hurt our Less and we’ll hurt you,” the taller one said. I quickly nodded my head in understanding. Honestly, she was a lot scarier than Mario had been when he threatened to hurt me if I ever treated Alessia wrong. “Even the slightest hint‒”
“Leah!” Alessia cut the woman off and she got in between us to try and push us apart. “Let (Y/N) go.”
The taller blonde, Leah, I assumed, still had a tight grip on my hand.
“Leah, let go. Now.”
Leah didn’t until the other blonde grabbed the back of Leah’s shirt to pull her back. I slightly winced as I rubbed my hand.
“Are you okay?” Alessia asked as she took the hand that Leah had been holding to look over it. I sent her a soft smile as I nodded. The handshake really hadn’t hurt that bad. Or well, if it did, Alessia would never know that. “The bitch is Leah,” Alessia ignored the gasp from the blonde who had just been shaking my hand, “and the other is Beth.”
“Meado?”
“Oh, so you do pay attention to me when I tell you about my teammates.”
“Give me some credit. I’ve learned a lot about soccer since I’ve met you.”
“Football.”
“Whatever.”
“So, when’s the album coming out?”
Alessia and I both looked over at Lotte who was watching us. I shrugged because I wasn’t entirely sure. I had only just finished recording it, but that didn’t mean that it was ready to be available for the world to listen to just yet.
“I get to listen to it first, yeah?”
“How’s that fair? I’m the girlfriend!”
“Yeah, but I’m the matchmaker!”
I rolled my eyes at the two of them as they continued to bicker about which one of them would get to hear the album first. All three of us knew that it would be Alessia since there was no way that I wouldn’t be playing the songs for her once we were alone.
“You’re a singer?” Beth asked. I turned to look at her before I nodded. I had gotten a record deal during the pandemic and had finally started my music career. “You have an album coming out?”
“No release date yet,” I admitted to her. I actually loved to talk about my music to others especially since most of it was about Alessia. “There’s still quite a bit of work to do for it. We really just recorded acoustic versions of what the finished songs will be.”
“Are you using Alessia just to get famous?”
Lotte and Alessia both stopped their argument at the question. I knew that this would be something that some would think, especially early in my own career.
“Leah!”
“It’s okay, Lessi,” I said as I wrapped my hand around Alessia’s wrist so that I could pull her close to me. “It’s a fair question considering we’ve kept our relationship a secret for so long and you are one of the best strikers in England right now.”
“No, it isn’t,” Alessia said, as she turned from me to glare at Leah. “Just because Leah has no idea that we’ve been dating since college doesn’t give her the right to ask if you’re just using me.”
The room grew tense as neither Alessia or Leah refused to back down from the other.
Ultimately it was Lotte who broke the silence.
“So, what’s the album about?”
I grinned as I looked over at her.
“What do you think?”
“No,” Lotte groaned as I pressed a kiss to Alessia’s cheek. “Not a whole album of songs just for Alessia. Didn’t you write her enough while we were in college?”
“Lotte, the album is literally about us getting together,” I pointed out. I knew that Lotte was aware of what the album was about considering I had been working on it since college. “At least you named it.”
“I did?”
“Oh, yeah,” I nodded as Alessia threw a slight glare at me. “Courage of Fools. That’s what you said when we both finally tried to ask each other out, right?”
“Maaaaa,” you gurgled, a smile lighting up your face as you clapped your chubby hands together. You watched as your mum bounced up and down, your sister cradled in her arms, giggling at the noises your mum was making.
“That’s right, baby. That is your mummy,” your dad chimed in, his voice gentle and reassuring as he wiped the drool from your chin with a soft cloth. “And that’s your sister, Alessia. Can you say Lessi?” His eyes sparkled with pride as he looked between you and your sister.
“Mama,” Alessia babbled, her tiny voice a sweet melody.
“Mario, Mario!” your mum squealed, her excitement causing you to startle slightly. The surprise made your heart race. “Lessi just said her first words!”
“Mamamamama,” Alessia repeated, her little hand smacking playfully against your mum’s cheek.
“Oh, such a clever girl, Lessi!” Your dad stood up, abandoning you to shower your sister with affection. He pressed a flurry of kisses onto her soft cheek, his face full of pure adoration.
You felt a strange, unfamiliar sensation bubbling up in your chest. Something that felt heavy and confusing. You watched your parents showering attention on Alessia, and the warmth that had filled you moments ago began to fade.
“Maaaaa,” you tried again, a cute little frown knitting your brows together as you concentrated on mimicking the sounds your sister had just made. Your heart sank as this time, there was no chorus of congratulations, no happy smiles, no warm kisses on your cheeks. Instead, you felt tears welling up in your eyes, and a small sob escaped your lips, the sound surprising you with its suddenness.
“Luca, baby, see to your sister, will you?” Your mum called, her back turned as she walked away, and your dad followed her, his attention still captivated by Alessia as he began to play peekaboo, hiding his face and then popping out with exaggerated surprise.
You stared at the soft toy, the teddy bear just slightly too far out of reach. You looked up at your brothers, but they were too engrossed with Alessia to notice. Like always. Alessia had her hands gripped tightly around Luca's fingers, using him to take cautious steps toward Giorgio.
“Mum, mum, come on! Lessi’s walking!” Giorgio cheered; his voice filled with excitement. The sound was like a bell, calling everyone to attention. A flurry of footsteps followed his announcement, the commotion growing as your parents rushed in.
You watched as your mum and dad came running, expressions of delight and happiness etched on their faces. They were captivated by their youngest daughter, marvelling at her determination as she slowly stepped along in sync with her brother.
“Oh, sweet girl. Look at you!” your dad called, his voice rich with warmth and pride, a cheerful laugh escaping his lips.
You twisted your body, trying to see what all the fuss was about, but your teddy was still too far away. Frustration bubbled inside you, and you huffed, clearly realising no one was coming to help you. You shuffled a little, pushing yourself onto your knees and then gradually to your feet, determination replacing your annoyance.
With a shaky step, you put one little foot in front of the other, wobbling slightly as you found your balance. It wasn’t much, but it was just enough to propel you forward. You felt a thrill of excitement course through you, but then gravity took over, and you flopped back down heavily against the soft carpet, the plush fibres breaking your fall.
You reached out eagerly, hugging the teddy to your chest, the familiar softness bringing you comfort. As you looked up to see if anyone was watching you, you found Luca and Giorgio posing with Alessia for a photo, their faces lit up with joy. Your mum and dad stood just behind them, capturing the moment, their proud smiles directed toward the trio.
You huffed again, your eyes rolling in frustration as you turned back to the colourful blocks scattered in front of you. With a sigh, you grabbed a block, throwing it weakly to the floor.
"Y/N, stop that, you'll dent the floor."
“Such a grown-up girl,” Mummy cooed, her voice full of pride as she smoothed Alessia’s blonde bunches. You watched as Alessia’s eyes sparkled, radiating the confidence you wished you had.
“I big now,” Alessia beamed, her small hands grasping each of your brothers. “I go to school!”
“I big too,” you tried, a frown creasing your forehead as you pressed down on the Velcro of your shoes, wishing someone could see just how big you are.
“A very big girl,” Giorgio smiled encouragingly at you, extending his spare hand for you to take. You looked back at him, hesitating for a moment before a shy smile spread across your face.
“Ok, everyone, look this way!” Mummy called out, her voice full of excitement as she adjusted the camera. You were standing outside your front door, the early morning sun making you squint. The blue gingham dress was a little too big on you, handing around your mid-shin as you stood next to your brothers, who both wore perfectly fitting white polo shirts.
Alessia, however, stood taller than you, her dress fitting perfectly. Mummy had only bought the dresses in her size, leaving you with the oversized ones that felt more like when you would steal your older cousin's dress-up clothes than something meant for big school.
“Just until you grow, honey,” Mummy insisted with a soft smile that tried to hide her impatience. “You can share with Lessi.” You couldn’t help but feel a strange bubble in your chest, one that tightened whenever you thought of Alessia.
“But they no fit,” you protested, confused as to why Alessia got to wear clothes that fit her and you didn't.
“Yes, but they fit Lessi,” Mummy sighed, her patience thinning. “And I’m not buying two packs of dresses when she doesn’t fit into the other size.”
So here you were on the first day of school, standing awkwardly in a dress that was too big and with hair that wasn’t smooth or done nicely because Alessia had insisted on wearing hers in two bunches instead of the one ponytail she had originally planned.
As you looked around at your family, the bubble in your chest tightened again. You tugged at the skirt of your dress, wishing for just a moment that you could feel as confident and ready as your sister looked.
“Ok, Mr. and Mrs. Russo. Let’s start with Alessia, yes?” Carole nodded eagerly, a bright smile spreading across her face at the mention of her daughter. “Well, she’s doing really well. She’s a very confident and happy little girl.” The teacher's voice was warm and reassuring as she continued, “Her English and Maths are really good. She’s getting the basics down solidly, and I’m really pleased with her start to Year Two.”
Mario beamed with pride, his heart swelling as he listened to the teacher praise his daughter. “She’s absolutely excelling in PE and really loves football. Mrs. Daniels, the PE teacher, has recommended that you might want to look for an extra-curricular club outside of school.”
“Really?” Mario asked, his excitement rising at the thought of Alessia following in his sporting footsteps.
“Oh, yes. Mrs. Daniels has nothing but praise for little Lessi,” the teacher confirmed, her eyes sparkling.
“We’ll definitely be looking into it,” Carole agreed, her tone full of determination.
“Wonderful. Now, we don’t have much time left, unfortunately; the troubles of only five-minute slots, I’m afraid,” the teacher continued, her voice slightly apologetic. “But I just wanted to talk about your other little one, Y-Y/N? is it?”
“Oh, yes,” Carole replied, her smile dropping ever so slightly as she shifted her focus to you.
“Well, everything seems okay. Very middle of the road, nothing really to report on. A little shy, perhaps, but yeah, she’s fine. English and Maths are fine, no other issues have been raised. So, I’m not concerned about anything.” Mario and Carole nodded, smiling gently.
“Anything you wanted to raise to me?” The teacher asked.
“No, we’re just so happy Lessi’s doing well,” Carole beamed.
“And we’ll definitely be putting her in football as soon as we can,” Mario added with a chuckle.
“That sounds great! I’m sure she will continue to excel.”
Age 10
“Now, Less. Are you sure?” Your dad’s voice was a mix of concern and encouragement as he watched Alessia adjust her blonde ponytail.
“Yes, Dad,” Alessia whined, her excitement bubbling over as she bounced on her toes.
“Alright, alright. Knock ‘em dead, angioletta.” His words filled the air with pride as he watched her run onto the pitch, her energy infectious.
You looked up at your dad, your eyes wide with admiration, but a hint of envy crept in as you watched him focus on Alessia, her small figure sprinting toward the other girls. This was a big moment for her – Chelsea trials – and the weight of it felt heavy.
You couldn’t help but remember the celebratory meal you had all shared the night the email had come through for Alessia. The joy radiated from her in waves as she chose her favourite Chinese takeaway. You couldn't tell which she was more excited for, to be honest. You had tried not to let it bother you that it had been your night to choose the takeaway. After all, the thought of causing a scene only made you retreat further into your shell. It didn’t matter anyway; sitting in silence had become a norm for you. You couldn't remember the last time Alessia or Mum had let you say more than 10 words over dinner.
“You alright?” Luca nudged you, pulling you back to the present. His concern flickered in his eyes, and you nodded, a sigh escaping involuntarily as you shifted your gaze back to the pitch.
“You want a hot chocolate?” Luca asked, his smile warm, like a little ray of sunshine piercing through your cloud of thoughts. You nodded shyly. He winked at you, smiling when he saw your tentative grin.
“Dad, I’m just getting some hot chocolate,” Luca called out, waving to the van a little further down the field. Dad just nodded, far too engrossed in Alessia to take much notice.
“Hey, you not wanting to join in?” A man in his late twenties approached, clipboard in hand.
“Oh, she’s not trialling,” your dad dismissed lightly, waving a hand toward you. “My other daughter, Alessia. She’s already on the pitch.” He pointed to where Alessia was sitting, focused and determined as she laced up her boots, oblivious to the world around her.
“Right,” the man said slowly, raising an eyebrow as he took in your presence. “Well, if you wanted to give it a go…?” he offered, trying to coax you into the spotlight.
“Yeh, right. She’s never even kicked a ball, I don’t think,” Dad laughed. You tried not to let the hurt well up in your chest at the insinuation. You're not good enough.
“First time for everything, am I right?” The man’s smile was encouraging, and you mulled it over, contemplating the idea. Maybe if you played football, your parents would pay more attention to you. They’d notice you, and perhaps the silence at the dinner table would break, even if just a little.
“Nah, she’s okay, right, squirt? She’ll just trip and hurt herself anyway,” your dad joked, shrugging off the man’s suggestion. You shrugged, too, somewhat agreeing with him as you glanced back at the field.
“Well, the offer stands all session if you want to give it a go,” the man said, nodding at you before walking off toward the group of girls.
You weren't quite sure how to feel. Maybe if you started football, then mum and dad would pay attention to you. Or maybe, Mum and Dad would get annoyed at you for taking away attention from Alessia. You blinked harshly, forcing the stinging to stop, waiting for Luca to appear with your hot chocolate.
Age: 14
“Um, Mum. I just need you to sign this thing for school. It’s about the gifted and talen–” You handed the letter out to her, trying to catch her attention.
“Oh my god!” Alessia’s scream sliced through the air cutting you off.
“What?” Mum asked, turning to face the blonde.
“I got into the England squad!” Alessia announced, her voice bursting with pure elation, her cheeks flushed with happiness as she bounced on her toes.
“Oh, Lessi, I’m so proud of you!” Mum exclaimed; her voice thick as she dropped everything to gather Alessia into a tight hug.
You felt a knot form in your stomach, it wasn't exactly an unfamiliar feeling. You had felt it before, when she made the Chelsea team, when she got her tests back at school, when she got exactly what she wanted for your birthday. You worked hard too, why couldn't Mum be that proud of you as well?
You looked down at the permission slip. You had been pretty excited to go. The trip up to Oxford seemed like fun, a change to meet some leading researchers had sparked something inside you, and who knows, maybe you were going to go to Oxford for uni? But that was a while away yet, and a lot of change in 4 years.
---
Age: 16
“Now then, whatever those results say, just remember, we are so proud of you.” Dad squeezed Alessia’s shoulders gently, her GCSE results clutched tightly in her hands.
“And remember, you’ve achieved so much both within and outside of school,” Mum added, her voice filled with love, her eyes shining with pride as she looked at her daughter.
You stood a few steps back, trying to imagine those words being said to you, trying to convince yourself that it didn’t matter what the results were. That you had achieved so much, too. But deep down, you knew it did matter, and you couldn’t shake the feeling that you hadn’t achieved much at all. You had worked hard, really hard, putting in late nights and early mornings, pouring your heart into your studies. But no matter how hard you tried, you felt like you could never be as brilliant as Alessia.
Taking a deep breath, you finally opened the envelope, your heart racing with anticipation.
A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*, A*,
You read it again and again, your mind spinning as you processed the information. You let out a steady breath, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. You had done it. Maybe this would finally mean your parents would tell you they were proud. You glanced back over at Alessia, who had tears streaming down her cheeks, a smile so wide it seemed to hurt her cheeks,
“Oh, Lessi. We’re so proud,” Mum cooed as she pressed a kiss to her daughter’s cheek, squeezing her tightly.
“What’s it looking like?” Luca asked you as he stepped closer. You didn’t reply right away; instead, you held out the letter for him to read, your heart pounding in your chest.
“What the fuck? That’s so good!” he cheered, his face lighting up as he pulled you into a tight hug, lifting you off the ground for a moment.
“Thanks, Lu,” you mumbled, you wanted to be happy for yourself, but you couldn't help but wish for a hug from your parents as well.
“They might not say it, but I’m proud of you,” he whispered in your ear, his voice low. You nodded, swallowing down the lump in your throat, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill over. It felt good to hear those words, even if they weren’t coming from your parents.
Maybe it was okay to be proud of yourself. If they weren't going to be proud of you, you might as well be.
Age: 18
“So, you’re going to America then?” You asked, standing by Alessia’s bedroom door. You had always liked Alessia’s room; it always felt warm, with a comfy bed draped in soft blankets and a plush seat by the window where she often did her homework. The walls were adorned with posters of her favourite footballers and travel destinations. Hundreds of photos of her friends littered the walls above her desk.
“Oh, uh, yeh. Yeh, North Carolina,” Alessia replied, her eyes glued to her phone as she scrolled through messages.
“Wow, I mean, um … well done?” You offered, your gaze dropping to your sock-covered feet. Why was it so awkward to talk to your own sister? Your twin sister?
“Thanks.” She glanced up from her phone briefly, throwing a weak smile your way that didn’t quite reach her eyes.
“Do you know when you’re leaving?” You asked, struggling to carry the conversation.
“Um, pretty much as soon as the A-level results come out, really.” She shrugged, and your heart sank a little more. That wasn’t very long at all – only a few weeks away.
“Mum’s coming to help set up and stuff. And Lotte will be there. And Lois. You remember them, right?” Alessia continued. You remembered Lotte vaguely; she was nice, a kind and gentle soul who had spoken to you for a solid twenty minutes at your birthday before being pulled away by Georgia and some of the other England girls.
“Mmhmm,” you replied, the word feeling heavy on your tongue.
“What are you doing in September then?” Alessia asked, her curiosity genuine ... as if she hadn’t been in the room when you received the UCAS email last month.
“Oh, I, um, I got in to –”
“Lessi, baby, food’s ready! I made your favourite!” Mum’s voice floated up from downstairs, interrupting you.
“Coming!” Alessia called back, climbing off the bed and brushing past you. “C’mon, Mum made our favourite.”
No, Alessia, you thought, she made your favourite. You were fairly sure Mum didn’t even remember your full name, let alone what your favourite meal was. The thought stung, but you pushed it aside somewhat used to it by now. You took a moment, standing in the doorway, grappling with your feelings, and wishing that just once, someone would make your favourite meal for dinner.
---
Age: 23
“What do you mean you aren’t coming?” Alessia shouted down the phone. You could almost picture her pacing back and forth, frustration written all over her face.
“I … I just can’t.” You hesitated, knowing that you weren’t going to explain the whole situation to her. It was your graduation day. You were finally a doctor. Dr Russo. You couldn't help the smile on your face whenever you thought about it.
“But it’s the Euro final … at Wembley. You’ve got to come,” she insisted, her tone desperate as if she truly wanted you there.
“Jeez, Alessia, that changes everything then.” You rolled your eyes.
“So, you’re coming?” she pressed.
“No, Alessia. I can’t make it.” You sighed. You hadn't even bothered ting your family when the graduation was. You knew from the moment you got the date through that they would be with Alessia, even if England hadn't made it to the final.
“But you’re always at my matches,” she said incredulously.
“Alessia, I haven’t been to a match since we were fifteen.” You didn’t mean to sound harsh, but the memory of those days felt bittersweet. You had tried to be the supportive sister, clapping and cheering, but watching your parents gushing over Alessia for hours had left a painful sting. When you finally reached an age where you could be left alone for a full day, you had stopped going to matches unless you were dragged along. When she started playing professionally in the league, you were almost always working on the wards, unable to get the weekends off to go watch her play.
“What? Yes, you are! You’re always in the friends and family box with Gio and Luca and Mum and Dad,” she countered.
“Nope,” you popped the “p” for emphasis, flopping down on your couch with a huff. "I can't make your matches."
“Oh,” she said dejectedly, a realisation dawning on her. It seemed she could have sworn you were at the matches, but then again, she hadn’t really been looking for you; she just assumed you were there, quiet in the background like you always had been.
“Will you at least watch it on the telly?” she asked, shaking her head at Tooney, who looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, sensing the tension in the air.
“Uh, sure, yeh,” you conceded like you always did when faced with anything Alessia-related.
“I’ll text you, okay?” Her voice softened, and if you didn’t know any better, you would have guessed she sounded almost … sad. But you did know better, right?
“Yeh, good luck, Alessia. I know you can do it,” you said. "Just, trust your feet, yeah?"
“Yeah, thanks,” she replied quietly, and you could almost hear the small ball of hurt blooming in her chest as the dial tone rang. "Bye then."
Age: 24
“Oh, honey. It’s okay,” Carole cooed softly, bringing a tearful Alessia into a warm hug.
“You played so well, angioletta,” Mario added, smoothing down the blonde ponytail.
“Thanks,” Alessia sniffled dejectedly, her voice cracking.
“Hey, c’mon! Give ya big brother a hug,” Luca joked, trying to lighten the mood as he flashed a teasing smile. Alessia flopped into his arms, closing her eyes against the world.
“Ya did good, star girl,” Gio chimed in, joining the huddle.
“W-where’s Y/N?” Alessia asked, looking around with wide eyes, searching for your familiar face in the crowd of fans and family members. It was the first time Alessia had actively sought you out after a match, but something in her needed to see her twin.
Gio and Luca exchanged a glance, tension forming around the family in a little bubble.
“She said she was busy,” Carole snapped tersely, her irritation bubbling just beneath the surface.
“Busy?” Alessia echoed, shocked. “She's too busy to attend the World Cup final?” Her voice was tinged with disbelief. Alessia couldn't help the sting that rose in her chest.
“Mum, that’s not how it went, and you know it,” Luca chided gently. “England, FIFA, whoever’s in charge, said they could only supply us with four family tickets for the tournament. And with the new Junior Doctors starting in August, she couldn’t really afford the time off anyway, so she volunteered not to come.” His voice softened, wincing at his words.
“Wait, so she isn’t here at all? Like, she's still in England?” Alessia looked over to her parents, her heart sinking further. Surely, they wouldn't have left you there ... would they?
“Like Luca said, she wasn't able to get time off. And she said she couldn’t afford all the flights and stuff, and the match tickets were very expensive,” Carole protested, her voice rising slightly.
“What? Why didn’t you tell me?” Alessia exclaimed, her voice growing more frantic. “I could’ve organised something, or spoken to the management team, or…” Her mind raced with realisation.
“Lessi, you were preparing for a World Cup; that was extra work on your end,” Mario interjected.
“Then why didn’t you split the costs with her? You came here for free! You could’ve split the costs between you, and it wouldn’t have been too much.” Alessia’s voice trembled with frustration.
“It’s fine, Lessi. Like Luca said, she volunteered not to come” Carole dismissed, waving her hand flippantly, as if trying to brush away the reality of the situation.
“Oh, Ella, darling. Come here,” she called out, smiling sadly as Tooney walked past the small group.
Alessia blinked up at her brothers. Shame bubbled up in her in chest at the realisation that she didn't really know you at all. How had it taken her this long to realise that you weren't here? That you weren't in the country at all?
Age: 24
A knock at your door jolted you out of your not-quite-sleep. You huffed in annoyance, irritated that sleep had been snatched from you once again. The knock came again, more insistent this time. With a groan, you slipped off the couch and padded over to the door, the carpet soft beneath your feet.
“What?” you snapped, the annoyance creeping into your tone as you flung the door open.
“Oh, um, hi?” Alessia stood in front of you, a small bag resting at her feet, her expression sheepish.
“Alessia?” You raised an eyebrow, surprised to see her at your door.
“Y’know, you’re the only one that calls me ‘Alessia’,” she remarked quietly, almost as if it was a confession.
“That’s your name, isn’t it?” you shot back, not really in the mood. You had just come off a block of nights, and you really wanted to be tucked up in bed.
“Right, yeah. It’s just ... everyone else calls me Lessi or Less." You’d never felt comfortable calling her Lessi; that was a name reserved for people she liked, and you definitely weren’t on that list.
“Um … so, what are you doing here?” you asked, still confused about her unplanned visit.
“Right, um, can I come in? I want to talk to you.” Alessia’s eyes darted around the hallway, and you instinctively looked down, avoiding her gaze.
“Uh, sure. Yeah, come on in. Sorry about the mess, I've been on nights.” you mumbled, laughing humourlessly, like you would with a stranger entering your home for the first time. You stepped aside, letting her pass as you closed the door behind her.
You both settled onto the couch, the silence stretching awkwardly between you.
“You weren’t in Australia,” Alessia stated bluntly.
“Um, yeah. Sorry, I just … things didn’t …” you trailed off, your voice faltering as you searched for the right words. How could you explain to her that you couldn’t take time off, that you couldn't afford the tickets and that your parents had refused to help out?
“Gio and Luca explained everything,” Alessia said softly, her expression sheepish.
“Oh,” you replied, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment. You felt a blush rise on your cheeks.
“I’m really sorry. For everything. Mum and Dad focused so much on me that they barely had time for you. And now … it’s like you’re a stranger or something.” Alessia’s voice trembled.
“It’s fine, Alessia,” you said defensively, the words slipping out before you could catch them. You didn’t want to show her how deeply this had affected you.
“No, it’s not.” She leaned closer.
“Most of my issues aren’t with you,” you mumbled.
“How do you mean?” Alessia’s brow furrowed, genuine confusion mingling with hurt.
“Mum loves you more,” you said bluntly, shrugging slightly. “Dad loves you more too.”
“That’s not true.” She shook her head, disbelief flashing across her face.
“Yes, it is.” You shrugged, trying to downplay the impact of your admission. But even as you spoke, you could feel your heart cracking. You had never said it out loud before, even if you had known it for all of your life.
“Mum and Dad love you,” Alessia promised, her voice a mix of desperation and sincerity.
“Yeah, but they love you more.” Your gaze fell to the floor, avoiding her eyes. You could see that Alessia was struggling to digest the information, her mind racing as she grappled with the implications.
“It’s always been about the star girl, Alessia Russo. And I’m not her. And that’s fine.” The last part felt like a lie. You could be a star girl too
.
“No, it’s not.” She whispered.
“No, it’s not, but it is what it is.” You tried to lighten the mood with a joke, but it fell flat. She gawked slightly, how was this not affecting you?
“Look, Alessia. It’s not your fault. Mum and Dad were just shite at remembering they had a fourth kid.”
“But we’re twins.” Alessia protested, her voice softer now, the hurt audible.
“I know. Doesn’t change anything though.” You smiled weakly.
“But ... surely Mum and Dad ... they ... ” Alessia trailed off, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
“Look, Alessia, all parents have favourites. No matter how hard they try to deny it. They do. I don't doubt they love you, and Gio, and Luca.” You replied, the words tasting bitter on your tongue. “It's just sometimes it feels like there’s just not enough love to go around.”
"But ... mum and dad love you too. You know that, right?" Alessia blinked rapidly, trying to hold back the tears.
"Sometimes." You shrugged. "But you and the boys came first. I got used to it."
"But you shouldn't have had to." Alessia protested.
"Can't disagree with you there." You smiled weakly.
An awkward silence settled on you both. "You ... you said you were on nights? W-what do you do for work?" Alessia felt stupid asking the question. What kind of person doesn't know what her sister does for work?
"I work in A&E at the moment. At Watford General."
"You're a doctor?" Alessia's eyes grew wide.
"Yeah, just started my second year as a Junior Doctor."
"Oh, that's so cool. I didn't know that you wanted to be a doctor."
You smiled weakly. "D-do you want a cuppa? We could have a chat and stuff?" You suggested, pointing to the kitchen table.
"That ... that would be nice, yeah." Alessia smiled back at you.
"Cool." You winced at how awkward you sounded. "Um ... milk? Sugar?"
Falling for me... literally? - Alessia Russo x reader
It wasn't a secret that off the football pitch Alessia wasn't the most graceful person. Hell even on the pitch Alessia struggled to stay on her feet the entire time.
It was a running joke with the team that Alessia was quite possibly the clumsiest person alive. So the blonde did her best to prove her teammates wrong.
Although it didn't quite work out most of the time.
But overtime Alessia had made peace with it. As embarrassing as it was it was true. That despite her profession she wasn't the best on her feet. Even if she had accepted it, it didn't mean that she sometimes hated that fact.
Especially now.
"Ella shut up!" Alessia groans as Ella continues to cackle beside her as they enter the hospital.
Ella tries to stop but it only turns to giggles instead. "I'm sorry" she says not really sounding sorry at all. But another grin over takes her face as she falls into laughter again. "I just can't wait for you to explain what happened".
Alessia blushes crimson as Ella bursts out laughing again gaining the attention of other people. Alessia ducked her head down not wanting to drag anymore attention to herself.
Alessia instead busiest herself with admitting her details all while trying to ignore Ella who continuously teased her.
Surprisingly they weren't waiting all that long before someone came and saw her.
Alessia was in the middle of rolling her eyes at her best friend as she poked more fun at her when someone flew into the room.
"Sorry about that" you apologize when you see how the blonde jumped at the sudden entry. Sending her a quick smile hoping it would help her calm down. "I'm still new here. Still trying to find my bearings".
But Alessia couldn't answer. She was too busy staring at how beautiful you looked.
She was jolted out of it by a swift elbow to her side from her teammate. Her face pinkened as she gave you a sheepish smile. "It's...It's fine".
You return it and Alessia swears that if she was hooked up to one of those heart monitors she would have been screwed. "Well what brings you here today?"
Alessia rolls her eyes contemplating hitting her friend when she hears her failing to hide her chuckles but instead settles for focusing on the pretty nurse in front of her.
But it seems she's saved from explaining when your eyes flicker up to her eyebrow.
"Mind if I take a look?" You ask as you get gloves on. Alessia nods quietly as you walk closer to her. Even with the blonde sitting down you were just barely at her height standing up. But you were thankfully able to get a clear look at her eyebrow coming level with her eyes.
Which you struggled to not pay attention when her blue orbs were fixed on you.
You kiss your teeth as you look at the small split right off her eyebrow. "Ouch what happened here?"
Alessia blushes furiously which she blames on the fact that Ella once again bursts our laughing instead of how gently your touching her face. "Um".
"She has an ongoing fued with gravity" Ella teases thinking that her best friend is currently flustered due to her teasing not the pretty girl checking out her split head. "Less can't seem to stay on her feet for long periods of time".
Alessia glares at the brunette hoping that it would shut her up.  But she doesn't get the hint. She opens her mouth to tease the blonde some more but she's cut off by her phone ringing.
Ella takes out her phone and sends the striker a small smile. "Sorry it's Joe".
But Alessia waves her off almost as if relived for the reprieve. "It's okay go take it".
Ella looks over her almost as if to make sure it's okay before she ducks out of the room to answer the call.
"Sorry about her" Alessia sighs softly.
But you just chuckle as you shake her head. "Don't be" you reassure her as your raise an eyebrow at her, "we all have that one friend".
Alessia laughs and nods but immediately stops when pain shoots through her head and she winces.
You frown at the girl's visible pain. "So what really happened?" You ask as you focus back on the wound. Careful not to cause her anymore pain.
Alessia pursues her lips before sighing rubbing her hands on her thighs nervously.
"I..." Alessia starts but relents when you smile softly at her. "I tripped" she admits with a small shrug, "I tripped and I hit my head off the corner of the couch".
You raise an eyebrow at her, "So there's some truth behind what your friend was saying?"
Alessia blushes and lets out a small cough trying to deflect. But you just give her arm a gentle squeeze. "It's okay. It's cute" you wink and giggle when you see how red the blonde gets.
You give her a grin before going back to her wound. You were so focused on her wound that you didn't see how she looked at you. How it gave Alessia the perfect opportunity to check you out while you were so close and so focused on something else.
If you had been paying attention you would have noticed all of that. Especially how big her grin was when she saw how you had to go on your tippy toes at times.
"So how are you feeling?" You ask as your eyes flicker down to hers.
Alessia's eyes widened thinking she was caught but eventually stumbled back an answer. "oh uh...fine just a headache really". Almost as if to prove a point she winces once more as you gently prod a tender area.
You raise another eyebrow at her as she smiles sheepishly at being caught. "Okay and maybe a bit sore".
You hum as you look her over putting your hand to her forehead to check her temp as she was incredibly flush. "Any dizziness? Nausea?" But that just earned you a small head shake from the girl.
"How long ago was this?" You ask as you take off your gloves.
Alessia shrugs, "Not long. We came straight here cause Ella was worried about a concussion. And we weren't waiting long. So I'd say a little over an hour ago?"
You grin at her as you cross your arms and you lean back against the wall. "Yeah that was me. I saw you in the waiting room and said we better get you out of there before people realized who you were".
Alessia nearly chokes on air. "You know who I am?" Already blushing at the fact that the pretty girl knows who she is.
"Yeah my niece adores you guys". You give her a sly grin. "I brought her to some of the Euro games. We were there when you scored you backheel". You rolled your eyes lightly but judging by your smile it was playful, "After that my niece wouldn't shut up about you after that. So thanks for that".
Alessia bites the inside of her cheek but that doesn't nothing to stop the smile blooming on her face. "Sorry about that".
You shrug, "It's fine. I guess there's worst things to talk about than a pretty girl".
Alessia can't do anything but blush unable to say anything in fear of coming off like an idiot. But she's saved when Ella barges into the room again.
"So what's the verdict Doc?" She asks oblivious to the conversation she interrupted.
You give her an amused look before focusing back on the blonde. "Well it looks like you are very lucky Miss Russo". Your arms cross and Alessia has to force herself to focus on what your saying rather than how look they look in your scrub top. "You have no signs of concussion. And the wound isn't deep so that's good which means we could probably do strips rather than stitches".
Alessia nods along but it's Ella who answers. "That's great news Less". Alessia nods along thankful that it's not serious enough for her to miss the end of the season.
"Perfect. I'll get you sorted out and then you'll be good to go" you nod as you move around collecting what you need.
Ella throws her thumb over her shoulder, "I'll give Mark a call and update him".
Alessia nods and waves her off as the midfielder once again leaves.
Alessia once again fixates on you as you put back on gloves and begin to work on her wound. "So you came to the Euro's games?"
You smile your eyes flickering down to hers briefly before focusing back on the task at hand. "Yeah my niece it seems inherited my love for football and her mother doesn't see the appeal so I took her to the games".
"Unfortunately I was working for the final though so her mom had to take her" you sighed as you gently put on the first steri strip to hold the wound closed and allow it to heal. "But I got a blow by blow from my niece about how amazing the Lionesses were".
Alessia smiles seeing how you talk about your niece. "How old is she?"
You smile grows thinking of your niece, "Lucy is eight and in love with anything Football and will probably combust when she hears I met you today".
Alessia goes to nod but immediately stops when you tisk her and hold her head in place as to not disrupt her work. What you didn't notice was how you stopped her by cupping her face which immediately stopped Alessia in her tracks.
Alessia clears her throat as she tries to deflect from her definitely reddening face. "Who does she support? The blonde asks with a grin.
You pause briefly to grin amusedly at her, "Why are you going to ask for someone else to treat you if I say I'm a city fan?"
Alessia despite knowing (and also hoping) that you were joking can't help but play along. "Maybe" she says cheekily as she smiles at you.
You scoff but can't help but let the smile slip through as you pull off your gloves. "Well then. Too bad cause I'm already done".
You hold up a small mirror, "If you look closely I spelt out City in the strips".
Alessia rolls her eyes. "Haha very funny".
"I know I am" you quip back with a wink and a grin.
Before either one of you can continue your banter Ella enters the room again. "Well that's you all sorted out". You look at Alessia, "Someone will be by to tell you anything you need to know about looking after them for the next day or so. And they'll also get you sorted with all the discharge work".
Alessia nods and smiles at you losing all her words at that moment.
"Well I hope you have a nice evening and don't have anymore fights with a couch" you tease with earns a snort from Ella.
"No promises" Alessia quips back which shocks her friend but ignores it for the moment.
You smirk as you head to leave the room, "Good luck with the rest of your season".
Alessia bites her lip seeing your about to leave. But she needs to know. "Wait!" She starts which honestly scares her best friend not expecting it. She takes a breath as you stop and turn around in the doorway. "What club do you support?"
You shrug playfully crossing your arms once more as Alessia forces herself to keep focused on your eyes. "I am a fan of the Gunners" you say as Ella lets out a loud groan. But right before you leave you wink at her. "But I don't know. United have been looking pretty good recently".
And with that she leaves not notice the love sick look Alessia is left with as you walk away to carry on with your day.
Alessia can't help but stare after you hoping to catch another glimpse but it seems her best friend is focused on other things.
"What does she mean recently? We're always good!"
***
Two days.
It had been two days and you still consumed Alessia's mind. So much so that when she went back to the hospital under the guise that she just wanted to be sure she was fully fit to play again she couldn't help but ask for you.
Which she was only disappointed to hear that you weren't working today.
And thus her plan failed.
So for the past 2 days she has had to suffer Ella telling the entire team how she slipped and ended up going to the hospital and got flustered when she had to explain everything to you.
Thankfully she didn't know that the real reason she was so flustered was because of you, so she was saved from the constant teasing from her teammates.
A small mercy she supposed.
So when she told the team that she couldn't go to practice because she had to get checked up at the hospital it was really a plan to hopefully see you.
And if she could manage it maybe ask you out.
Only she didn't consider that it would be your day off when she thought of it. Which meant she was now alone with the day to herself.
So she went for a run.
She hadn't been training since she had split her head. And she was starting to get restless from not doing anything and decided a small run wouldn't hurt anyone.
She was only gone an hour before she was coming back up to her house. But as she was coming up to her house she started to slow down as her attention is on the massive moving truck.
Curious as always Alessia alows down to try and get a peak and what kind of stuff her new neighbors has.
But of course as if the universe was punishing her for being nosey. Her foot catches on the curb sending her tumbling. Alessia staggers forward her hand held out to try and catch herself. And right as she's sure she's about to eat the pavement, someone catches her.
"I'm starting to think you're doing this on purpose..."
Alessia immediately perked up as her head snapped towards the voice.
"Like I mean there's no possible way someone could be this clumsy without it being on purpose" you tease as you grin down at her.
Alessia was too in shock to even respond as she just dumbly stared at you.
But it seems that you catch her stare as you raise an eyebrow at her with a teasing smirk. "Or maybe you just wanted another excuse to come see me at the hospital?"
Alessia was sure that her face was as red as the jersey she wore. "I uh I don't..."
But you just shook your head as your crossed your arms as Alessia busied herself with straightening herself up. "I'm new but I'm already the talk of the nurses station apparently". You tilt your head at her, "I suppose that what happens when one of the Lionesses comes in and asks for you by name".
Alessia bites her lip knowing that she's been caught. "Uh...". But when she sees the smile your trying to contain she relaxes even the tiniest bit. "Okay yeah. I did".
You hold you hand to your chest as your face morphs in mock shock. "God I'm honored. Truly!"
Alessia scoffs lightly but smiles in good humor. "Well maybe I should be the one that's worried" Alessia teases trying to turn it back on you. "I mean your the one that's following me".
But it just earns a smirk from you as you lean up against the moving truck. "Actually no I'm not". You jut a thumb at the truck, "I'm using my day off to move into my new place".
Alessia's eyes nearly bugged out of her head. Her mouth dropped as you giggled at her.
"You...your going to be living....here?" Alessia says as she points to the apartment building right beside of them. When you nodded, her smile seemed to widen.
"Judging by your reaction, I guess I'm talking to my new neighbor?" You ask.
Alessia just smiles widely at you, "Hi".
You chuckle but can't help but notice how cute the forward is.
This seems to enbolden her as her chest puffs out a bit in confidence. "Do you need a hand with all your stuff? She asks as she leans over to look into the truck.
You lick your lips as you bite your lip before shaking your head. "No...I couldn't ask you to do that. I'm sure that's not how you would want to spend your day off".
But Alessia is quick to wave you off as she moves to grab one of the boxes by the edge of the truck. "Not at all! Seriously it's fine. Beside it looks like you already have most of it done. I'll just help you with the last of it". She flashes you a smile which makes your heart soar. "Consider it a thank you for helping me out the other day".
Now it's your turn to blush at the praise while Alessia internally cheers at the achievement.
"Well it's nice to know it's healing up nicely" you say as you brush some of the loose hairs out of her face to have a look at the old wound.
And if Alessia wasn't scared of dropping your stuff, she definitely would have dropped the box.
It seems like you catch yourself in the moment as you blush again before backing up thinking you were making the blonde uncomfortable.
You clear your throat as you grab another box and nod in thanks. "Thank you".
Alessia smiles back at you as she nods her head towards the building, "Lead the way".
You lead the way up to your apartment but of course the lift isn't working meaning the two of you have to trudge up and down the stairs with the last remaining boxes. It took about another 5 trips but the two of you got the job done.
"Thank you so much for all your help" you thank her as you flop back down to the couch.
Thankfully that came with the apartment so it was one of the few things you didn't need to carry up the stairs.
She takes a deep breath as she puts down the box on the ground with the others. "It's no problem" she says as she drops down onto the couch with you.
You give her a look, "Really it was". You playfully groan as your head drops onto the back of the couch. "I don't think I would have managed another trip up and down those stairs".
"The benefit of having a professional athlete as a neighbor?" She offers with a smile.
The two of you fall into laughter before you check the time. "Well the least I could do for taking up your evening is offer you dinner". You see her open her mouth most likely to argue but you just take her hand which was in-between you on the couch.
"It will be no hassle at all and I was planning on getting a takeout anyways. I have nothing in the fridge and even if I did I don't think I have the energy to make anything" you add. It seems that Alessia contemplate for a second before sighing and nodding.
"Great!" You smile as you squeeze her hand before getting up from the couch. "Pizza okay with you?"
Alessia nods also standing up. "Yeah that's perfect". She points her thumb over her shoulder at the door. "I'm just going to go freshen up is that alright?"
You nod before realizing you probably need to do the same. "Yeah that's fine. I probably need to do the same". You peel your shirt off you only realizing now how it was slicked with sweat.
Alessia laugh at the disgusted look on your face to which you roll your eyes. "What apartment are you? Will I come up to you when it's here or...."
Alessia nearly winces thinking how messy her apartment is right now. "No. Uh I'm right about you. And I won't take long so I'll come back down".
You grin as you nod, "Alright but if your not down in time I'll just bang the brush on the roof".
Alessia laughs as she walks out of the apartment. The moment she hit the stairs and knew you couldn't see she bolted up the stairs. Knowing how long it took her to get ready, she had the quickest shower of her life before rushing around to get ready to meet you back downstairs.
But she made sure to grab something before heading back down again.
She knocked on the door as she rocked on the balls of her feet waiting. You opened the door with a smile as you nodded you head in, "Perfect timing it was just delivered there".
She smiled as she followed you in as she hid the bag she brought drop beside the couch as the two of you tucked into the pizza.
There never seemed to be a lull between you. The conversation just flowed effortlessly. As much as you tried to turn the conversation to Alessia, she made it clear that she was interesting in your life as she asked about being a doctor. She was also surprised to find out you were a former field medic.
Although that did explain your physique.
But you remained adamant that you wanted to learn more about her as well. But not the superstar Alessia Russo. The questions were aimed more towards how she go into soccer as well as her family. Not wanting to pry into her professional life in fear of overstepping.
It was so easy to talk to her. So easy that you didn't realize how late it was getting.
"God I can't believe it's 10:30" you say shocked when you see the time. Due to it being the summer, the sun always set late which always gave off the false illusion of time to you.
"Yeah it's crazy" Alessia nods as she puts the wine glasses over in the sink.
It was only as you were cleaning up did you realize the bag that Alessia had hid when she came back. "What's this?"
Alessia blushes as she scratched the back of her head. "Uh well it's kinda the real reason I came to the hospital to see you?" She motions for you to open the bag only to find a Manchester United jersey with her name and number on the back signed.
"I thought that you could give it to your niece?" She said slowly before adding, "And I was thinking that whenever your free I could get you tickets to a game?" Her eyes widen, "Only if you would want to now! I wouldn't want to force you to!"
You shake your head as your heart once again soars at the sweet gesture. "This is amazing Alessia. Your too kind. Thank you".
But you smirk as you couldn't help but tease her. "What about me though?"
She tilts her head at you and you have to hold yourself back from audibly awing at how cute she is. It almost resembles a puppy to you.
"What? No jersey for me?" You ask wiggling your eyebrows at her letting you know your teasing.
But she seemingly plays along with you. "I didn't know if I would be able to convince you to wear it. Seeing as your a Gunners Girl".
You let out a little laugh as you moves towards her. Most people would be intimidated by the height difference. But you were used to it in your years with the army and had grown used to tougher situations. "Well I mean it would take some convincing I mean..."
By the way your eyes had flickered down from her eyes to her lips and back up again, Alessia took that as her sign.
"Maybe a date?" Alessia chances as she hopes she didn't read the situation wrong. "Would convince you I mean?"
You bite your lip but it does nothing to hide the smile on your face. "I mean" you start with a grin. "It would have to be a pretty amazing date with someone pretty special". You wink at her, "I mean I don't wear just anyone's jersey you know?"
Alessia smiled at your banter. "Well I hear that number 23 for United is pretty good".
You nod with a smile, "Hmm I heard that too". You tilt your head up at her. "How about we settle this with a little wager then?"
"I'm listening" Alessia agrees.
"Well if that number 23 can score again in their upcoming game against Arsenal...then I guess I'll agree to going on a date with you".
Alessia couldn't help but feel both competitive and giddy. "You should know that she has a good track record for scoring against Arsenal" she challenges raising an eye at you.
But you just nod subtly licking your lips as you look at her before looking back up at those gorgeous sky blue eyes and breath out.
"That's what I'm counting on".
