Confession:  I always hand over the evidence implicating Tali's father to the admiralty. It's a matter of principle; The friends and families of those who died on the Alerei deserve to know why what happened happened - that is justice. The Opening of my book - The Veil

I really wanna post this here and give people a small glimpse of what I’m working with because I keep talking about it and the word milestones I keep reaching. So here it is! From the Journal of the character I call ‘Alerei’

The Universe shifts. I can feel it in the ebb and flow of the very cosmos, called to my fingertips when I touch the subtle ripples in the waters of my home world.

    Long ago, we Wiccans discovered the calling of reality; the art of calling forth the energies and the raw power of the Other Dimension. We called it The Art and the very fabric between our two worlds The Veil.

    One by one each race began to become sensitive to these energies, able to control and contort the power of the Other Dimension to their wills. The Celts cultured and nurtured their planet and all planets as they used their powers to give back to Nature. The Duality of Elves used it to elevate their two species from their binary star system, creating a two-toned haven across their territory and constructing incredible machines and dyson spheres. The Dwarves used their gifts to fan out across the stars, drawn deeply to the worlds where they could hide in deep seclusion, in search of the invaluable riches of the galaxy. The Solarians used it for purposes of war; creating a creed of super soldiers that were bred for any and every method of conflict imaginable, and from their pulsar system, they kept a stern and iron-clad peace between all races. We Wiccans used our abilities to enlighten ourselves, drawing upon the gifts we were given to heighten our knowledge and wisdom in the ways of the sacred arts. And the Terrans, who never knew their homeworld, began to explore, drawn to the deepest and darkest recesses of the known galaxy, searching for something they had always been looking for – A home.

    But of each race, four of us harboured our own heretics. And across the galaxy, we were all deceived.

The first was a Light Elf. On a planet since lost to the annuls of history, a famed and gifted alchemist toyed with the fabrics of reality, harnessing vast quantities of energy from our own universe to fuel his strength and become all the more powerful. Leading his tribe to great victories against raiders and any opposing forces that threatened their way of life; his people soon began to revere him as a demigod, chosen by the Gods to unlock the secret of energy consumption. Delving too deep the Light Elf believed the secrets of his strength came in all he defeated and consumed. After sacrifices and rituals, he became approached by a mysterious figure. The Stranger offered him an accord, of which had also been lost to history – he would offer this alchemist the secrets of energy consumption he coveted, in exchange for his very soul. The Light Elf took this Stranger’s bargain, and his planet became the forfeit in the end, not to the alchemist’s dismay. Like a black hole, he ate and ate and ate, consuming all who lived on his homeworld and even the planet along with them, until all that was left was a gap in the very fabric of reality, and the Light Elf sat upon a floating throne of what were the only ruins of his world - a chair of the bones of his home and his people.

    His name became known to be Prowlust.

    The second was of our very own – A Wiccan. We knew him to be once called Larrel, a great scholar and member of our council, The Aura. But like Prowlust, Larrel discovered the wisps of temptation all the same when his ambition for knowledge and for youth came above all else. He developed a lust for immortality, to live forever and watch the universe grow cold and old before him; to cheat death became his one masterful desire. As a Wiccan he believed that our species held the authority over The Art and that through it he would achieve what no living soul ever would or could. And like Prowlust, he was contacted by a mysterious Stranger. He was offered the ability to live forever, and Larrel took it, without realising that his body would one day crumble nought but dust and that only his essence was ageless. The Stranger gave Larrel a concoction that would make him immortal through prolonged use, and Larrel used it immediately. Yet one day, almost centuries later when I was part of The Aura when applying his ointment, Larrel discovered in his very flesh a wrinkle. Upon touching it, Larrel’s body began to crack, and he knew what had happened. He was immortal, but only in essence alone. Larrel’s body would be his own forfeit, doomed to age indefinitely forever. In his rage he destroyed his estate and all who were with him and fled our planet, never to be seen again. We knew he would not return until he began searching for The Stranger, and for absolution from his afflicted curse.

    His new name became Kralder when he began to use The Art for dark intentions and murder.

    The third was a Terran. A strategist from their home of Terra Prima Station, he was known only to a few and as George before his people declared war on the minor race of Mortuans. George was ruthless, and yet under orders from the Terran High Command, tasked with subjugating the people for their planet to be used as a supply outpost for their people moving forward in their efforts to explore and search for the perfect world to call their home planet. George could not understand why his superiors were adamant to destroy the natives. After the Terrans utterly wiped out their quarrel and praised George as a war hero, he fled the military, but did not forget the corruption and brutality he was ordered to carry out, and nor did he fight back against it. He believed the Terrans better than the sum of their leadership, destined for greatness that the warmongers could not see a path to as they were more concerned with finding a planet to make Terra Firma, their home. George was visited by the same Stranger that came to Prowlust and Kralder, and he offered George something he could not find within his own species; obscurity, we believe. George slipped out of all knowledge and has not been seen ever since, for what has been ten and a half thousand years.

    We still do not know the new name he took when he fell into darkness.

    And the fourth and final betrayer, to have fallen from grace is another Terran, we believe. In truth, we do not yet know his true identity and nor do we do not know the name he had before he fell to darkness, and most believe he had never fallen, that he was born into his path. No species knows where he came from or who trained him in The Art, and how to utilise it as incredibly brutally as he does. With a mysterious military and naval war machine at his back, he travels the galaxy with a fleet of warships, killing any and all with his army of dark apostles and Dark Art users. There are some disturbing reports that he is not alone either, and some are beginning to believe that he brings with him total devastation unparalleled. Some are believing he has partners; a man with a crumbling body and a gaping maw that leaves no one left to tell of the atrocities they are committing. It is because this alleged Terran that I feel the Universe changing. It is because of him I feel that these few entries I make now may well be coming to my last. His war machine marches closer and closer to victory, but I believe total conquest is not his true goal.

    For where there is him, and for where there have been these dark acolytes of The Art, there has always been one to oppose them, one soul to balance out the darkness.

    The one whom the Universe deems its champion, its very essence. And I am certain it is they whom he seeks, and whom he strives so badly to destroy.

    His name is Dumanark, the Dark King of the Art.

    These days are growing shorter, by only minutes, but I and all of my people of Wicca can feel them so as we look to the stars and leave our home to join our allies in the fight against Dumanark across the stars. I can only hope that either I, or my daughters, or any of us can find the Universe’s Champion before he does.

WHAT OTHER RANKS ARE THERE? ~cappy

There are four all together: 

Furous-Ranking is given to purposefully dangerous and hostile lifeforms. We’ve seen them kill, destroy, and take. Once someone reaches this rank it’ll be up to a different sector of F.E.U.L. to take care of them and either capture them or dispose of them before more damage is done to our planet or any others.

Tielon-Ranking is given to potentially dangerous lifeforms. This can go in a few ways. They are purposeful malicious but do not have the power or resources to do a lot of damage, have shown signs of being malicious, or they are not purposefully malicious but have shown to be dangerous in some encounters. A different sector of F.E.U.L. is sent to watch them more carefully and more personally. 

Caeffer-Ranking is given to lifeforms who are calm, do not wish to do harm, and do not show signs of doing harm to the planet or species on it. We have enough information on them and have been able to categorize them as such. They are allowed to live here on this planet and meet up with F.E.U.L officials to claim an identification card if they so please. Observers, such as myself, watch over Caeffers from time to time to make sure they are safe and unharmed.

Alerey-Ranking is given to lifeforms whom we are…not sure about. They are shown to have a mix of emotions and tactics and we truly can’t pinpoint what they are, what they want, or what they can do. 

Any Lifeform can change between rankings depending on if they change themselves or exhibit new emotions or powers.
