Is the Satanic Bible by Lavey worth reading? Are there any books on Satanism that you'd recommend at all?

It's been a LONG time since I read the Satanic Bible. I remember there being some good bits, and it remains on my shelf untouched for the last decade or so. Take everything in it with a grain of salt, I guess, as reading it is kind of a rite of passage for Satanists of all stripes.

Here's a list of some of the other books on my shelf. I've either gotten some good information from them or they've inspired some of my own theology, but that doesn't mean they're not all problematic in places.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Für uns geht es heute nach Burley. Das Dorf ist von der offenen Heidelandschaft des New Forest umgeben, die einen Komplex aus Wald-, Heide- und saurem Grasland, Sträuchern und Talmooren enthält, die eine reiche und vielfältige Tierwelt beherbergen.

Der Ort praktiziert noch immer die alte Tradition des Commoning , bei der Tiere im offenen Wald grasen dürfen.

Ein Dorf, in dem Wildpferde und Wildesel den Verkehr manchmal zum Erliegen bringen, weil sie einfach mitten auf der Straße stehenbleiben und nur widerwillig den Weg frei machen.

Ständig wurden wir auf Schildern davor gewarnt, dass die Unfallgefahr auf diesen Straßen besonders hoch ist, da Tag und Nacht Tiere die Fahrbahn kreuzen.

Auf den Straßen sind überall Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen von 40 Meilen pro Stunde (ca. 65 km/h) vorgeschrieben und die sind auch sinnvoll, denn die Tiere bewegen sich oft in Fahrbahnnähe und wenn dann auch noch Jungtiere unterwegs sind, ist die Kollisionsgefahr noch größer.

Im New Forest begegnen dem Autofahrer aber nicht nur Wildpferde, auch Rotwild, Esel, Schweine und Schafe laufen hier frei durchs Gelände.

Besonders nachts ist die Gefahr groß, mit einem der Tiere zu kollidieren, da sind selbst 40 mph noch zu schnell. Deshalb heißt hier der Slogan: "Twenty is plenty!"

Einige Ponies wurden mit einem reflektierenden Halsband versehen, wodurch sie im Dunkeln besser zu erkennen sind, aber den Großteil der Wildtiere bemerkt man nachts erst im letzten Augenblick.

Burley strahlt den Charme der alten Zeit aus, mit Ponys und Rindern, die durch das Dorf streunen, und hübschen strohgedeckten Cottages. In Burley ist die Zeit stehen geblieben. 

Wenn man durch die wenigen Straßen des Dorfes geht oder fährt, fallen einem sofort die Läden auf, die mit ungewöhnlichen Gegenständen handeln, die alle mit Hexerei im weitesten Sinne des Worte zu tun haben. Über dem ganzen Dorf hängt irgendwie ein Hauch des Mystischen.

Eine weiße Hexe namens Sybil Leek lebte in den 1950er Jahren in Burley und konnte oft im Dorf gesehen werden, gekleidet in einen langen schwarzen Umhang, mit einer Dohle als Haustier auf ihrer Schulter. Die Einheimischen reagierten nicht gerade positiv auf ihre Anwesenheit und sie zog schließlich in die USA, wo sie mehr als 60 Bücher über Okkultismus und Hexerei veröffentlichte.

Sie war offenbar eine ziemliche Berühmtheit und war Gastgeberin einer Reihe bemerkenswerter Persönlichkeiten der damaligen Zeit, darunter der Autor HG Wells und angeblich Aleister Crowley.

In Burley Village gibt es mehrere Souvenirläden, die sich mit dem Thema Hexerei befassen, und einer davon ist ihr gewidmet und auch nach ihr benannt.

Überall hat sich diesbezüglich eine illustre Schar an mehr oder minder mystischen Profiteuren niedergelassen und verkauft Amulette, Getränke und ��täglichen Bedarf“ an Hexenartikeln von Kesseln bis zu Besenstielen! 

Zeit für eine magische Stärkung! Und so wollten wir uns im altehrwürdigen Burley Manor einen magischen Afternoon Tea auf den Tisch zaubern lassen.

Der erste urkundlich erwähnte Besitzer von Burley Manor war, bereits im Jahr 1212 ,der Förster Roger de Burley, bevor die Ländereien an die Krone fielen.

Das beeindruckende Herrenhaus im Baronialstil wurde 1852 von Colonel William Clement Drake Esdaile einem Verderer – einem Verwalter des New Forest – erbaut und versprüht einfach durch und durch alten Charme.

Anschließend durchlief das Herrenhaus viele Besitzer, bevor das nächste Kapitel seiner Geschichte begann und diese historische Schönheit wieder in neuem Glanz erstrahlte.

Im Jahr 1935 wurde das Herrenhaus in ein Hotel umgewandelt und beherbergt seitdem Gäste, abgesehen von einer kurzen Zeit als Militärhauptquartier, als es während des Zweiten Weltkrieges von Lord Montgomery beschlagnahmt wurde.

Im Dezember 2015 wurde eine 1,8 Millionen Pfund teure Renovierung abgeschlossen und Burley Manor neu als "adults only" eröffnet.

Das Burley Manor Hotel bezeichnet sich selbst als „Restaurant mit Zimmern“, ein Konzept, das offenbar mehr und mehr von vielen britischen Landhotels übernommen wird. 

Das Hotel liegt zwar nur auf acht Hektar Land, sieht aber nach viel mehr aus, denn direkt davor liegt die grüne Fläche des Burley Park, einem Schutzgebiet für Rothirsche.

Das dunkle, klassische Farbschema trägt dazu bei, ein luxuriöses Gefühl zu schaffen, während Stühle, die mit Wildtiermotiven bedruckt sind, dem Dekor einen Hauch von Jagdhütten-Chic verleihen.

Schön, dass das Hotel trotzdem viele seiner traditionellen Merkmale beibehalten hat und nicht nur die denkmalgeschützte Außenfassade.

Zum Beispiel das offene Feuer in der Eingangshalle, die 164 Jahre alte geschnitzte Holztreppe und den kunstvollen Schriftzug an der Vorderseite des Backsteingebäudes.

​Der Afternoon Tea wird im viktorianischen Wintergarten serviert. Sehr befremdlich fanden wir schon die online Reservierung, bei der vorab eine vollständige Bezahlung eingefordert wurde.

Das schlechte Gefühl setzte sich weiter fort, als wir zu unserem Tisch geführt wurden. Die Bestuhlung hatte wahrlich schon bessere Tage gesehen. Aufgeplatzte Nähte, abgewetzte und fleckige Sitzflächen.

Leider gab es hier wieder einmal überhaupt keine Teekarte und die Bedienung fragte lediglich: Coffee or Tea? Trabte ab und kam tatsächlich mit einer Kanne Tee, in der 2 Teebeutel der Sorte Breakfast Tee herum schwammen, wieder.

Die anschließend servierte Etagere sah nur optisch gut aus. Tatsächlich war das Gebote ein absolutes Desaster. Nichts davon war frisch, alles nur billigste und übelste Ware aus dem Supermarkt um die Ecke.

Grauenhaft und ungenießbar. Was für eine Unverschämtheit! Dafür gibt es von und die schöne Note 6 plus. Das "Plus" gibt es für die Stoffservietten. Hier werden wir nie wieder einkehren.

Spiritual Satanist - The website and blog is a great resource and the author is vocally anti Nazi. She made a blog post about how Nazis don't belong in the community a few years back.

Spiritual Satanist Blog - The blog for the above site! Lots of interesting and useful stuff here too.

Montespan ~ The Satanist

By way of brief introduction I am Father Montespan, a Theistic Satanist and Black Magician who has been involved with the Infernal and the Demonic since 1974, a dedicated Disciple of Our Demonic Father Satan and Our Infernal Mother Lilith. I have studied the Black Arts since 1974, practiced them since 1977 and tutored in them since 1994, I also presided as a High Priest within the Cabal that Initiated me for four years and also presided as Founder and High Priest over another Satanic Order from 1995 - 1997. After this I resumed the path of a Lone Satanist but still remained a Teacher of the Black Arts to the Student who would seek such knowledge. I am a Demonic Conduit and have developed the ability to Communicate with Demons through inner Meditative Automatic Writing, I began to develop this ability around the year of 1989 after a lengthy Communion with Satan which set my life on a completely new course than what it then was liberating me from oppressive forces and allowing me to sever all ties with a family who had done nothing but seek to imprison my mind and spirit. Being a Chanel for the Demons now is second nature to me and can be attained without any Ritual aid or preparation. The Arts of Demonic Communication and Conjuration, Infernal Protection, Satanic Seership and Infernal Banishing are my main areas of power although I have sort to develop all forms of Infernal Magickal abilities. Late 2015 I decided that the Works of Anton LaVey and other Atheistic Satanists had poisoned the true path of Satanism for long enough . . . I sat back and looked upon the plethora of information available on this inane and redundant (not to mention disrespectful) form Satanism and compared it to the lack of available writings on Theistic Satanism, Devil Worship and Classical Demonic Satanism. LaVey’s Works and the Works of Gilmore and others of his ilk spoke for the Atheistic Satanism Community, Michael W Ford for the Luciferian Community, but apart from some valuable Texts by Aleister Nacht and Asenath Mason and the writings of the Demonolator Stephanie Connolly few spoke up for the ways of Theistic Satanism and Demonic Sorcery. The Joy Of Satan Organization were another option (but they were more of a merging of Luciferianism and extremist beliefs which at times incorporated Neo-Nazi elements) and of cause there were the Sinister Teachings of Order Of The Nine Angles but their suspected involvement with illegal practices and fringe Groups not to mention their elitist policy on who is suitable to their ranks has prevented what is probably the only genuine Satanic Order from flourishing. At this point I decided to publish a book myself and began collating notes, texts and information I had accumulated over decades of study, practice, research and exploration within the Black Arts of Satanism. Late 2017 I decided that the Work which I was evolving would be best released via the Internet incurring no cost to the genuine Satanic Seeker and feasibly reaching a wider audience to spread the true path of Theistic Satanism. And so now we come to the present, it is 17:54 on May 27th 2018  as I write these words and the decision to put forth the material gathered into The Grimoire Of Montespan through the worldwide web has manifested in this Blog. What shall be unveiled throughout the Texts on this Blog shall be the full Manuscript of this Grimoire - nothing shall be left out or edited in any way! Here Rites, Black Arts and Satanic Occult Workings shall be unveiled that have not been touched on to any true extent in other books on LHP Magick. While the earlier part of this Tome deals with more recognizable Infernal Workings it has to be said that the Workings in the latter part of The Grimoire Of Montespan touch on taboo, legendary and forbidden forms of Satanic Rites and Operations that have before been denied access to on a public level. I shall leave this personal introduction here, little more needs saying other than my life has been dedicated to My Lord Satan, shall continue to be and that my journey in His Service shall surpass the boundaries of this incarnation. The devil pressing a image in my mind of my face n it's supposed to be ugly as about to tell something I felt to tell. It's been obsessing some w my face. It's saying something weird. It said it would have to do something weird about what it did here. It's pressing I'm supposed to feel like a joke n like worthless n ugly etc that it's supposedly to have been able to do this. It's pressing I'm supposed to be really inferior n ugly n corny n lame. It's pressing a dirty n I think it's trying to press I'm supposed to be a devil worshiper. It's pressing something about that Elsa -- a break here -- girl. It was going crazy pressing irritation. A break here. The devil keeps pressing this weird serious seeming persona n edge. It's pressing the sheets are dirty. It is attacking very bad, continuing to press irritation n a persona that is extremely irritating!!!!!!! It's pressing EXTREMELY BAD IRRITATION, it's something like a persona of someone that's supposed to be a devil worshiper, etc or from that ugly look it apparently makes for me in the mirror. It was putting a government figure in my mind, it was putting others in my awareness that were supposed to be the society as superior. IT WAS EXYTEMELY BAD, it was like a physical attack, it's something it's pressing it's supposed to be superior or something, it's a extremely horrible sense it's pressing. It was just pressing who was I writing for because I was saying the people were really crazy n etc here. It was going insane pressing i was supposed to think this. It is going TOTALLY N COMPLETELY INSANE, like it's supposed to be really impossible or something for it to lose.

In Satan's Honour - This website is pretty regularly updated and even has a patreon! There are a lot of thought provoking articles and great resources on there.

Spiritual Satanist - The website and blog is a great resource and the author is vocally anti nazi. She made a blog post about how nazis don't belong in the community a few years back.

Spiritual Satanist Blog - The blog for the above site! Lots of interesting and useful stuff here too.

Theistic Satanism - An older site, but plenty of worthwhile stuff on there. Several other sites are also maintained via this site!

Black Goat Cabal - Now shut down but the websites maintained by the above site. Lots of essays, rituals and advice.

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Devil Worshipper - Maintained by the same person who maintains the BGC and theistic satanism website. LOTS of great advice, sermons and even has a section for new theistic satanists.

Satan's Den - A lot of information on satanic magic & Satanism in general! There's also a blog attached to the website, so even more content.

Aleister Nacht - A lot of videos and information on Satanism. Has a list of Satanic holidays you can follow if you wish! Also has a Patreon!

In Praise Of Satan - A website about someone's personal journey with Satan. There is an FAQ section along with some other useful information.
