Finally finished coloring this in!! It’s been a rough week but imma grind on getting other drawings finished so Deadpool, Professor X, and Rogue will be delayed. Sorry!!!

But here is the silly lil guy tee hee (I had plans to fill the open space with Deadpool being yk DP but got lazy :( )

It’s nothing special but I did enjoy drawing him. I tried giving him digitigrade legs but struggled so much I wanted to cry.

Still a firm believer that Logan should be more animalistic even if his mutation is his claws, this man goes feral and you cannot tell me he does not have animal habits tee hee.

I tried to base his top off of what Logan wears at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine he’s such a cutie. Yes he is a very dangerous man, he is by no means innocent but he is absolutely like one of those stray feral cats that you take in that’s really mean and aggressive and once he’s comfortable he’s just a big softie who cares about his people. This man would die for his friends/family.

also again this version of Logan is based on a Therizinosaurus I befriended in a game. :3

internet search tips on how i sift through junk or mischaracterizing content when looking up visual animal references:

Use the scientific name instead of common name for less false ID (especially if you want to see real wolverines or jaguars instead of the x-men or car maker)

Instead of “baby“, try “juvenile” or a more species specific term (bird=chick, bovid=calf, carnivoran=cub, etc..)

If it’s a rarer animal without many results try searching its name in a native language, it’s usually on wikipedia

Search the scientific name in inaturalist for multiple party verified ID sightings with locations

Searching “skeletal” in place of “skeleton” gives different results and usually less products

try adding “zoo” to your search if you want to look at over-exploited viral species like otters, foxes, primates, or exotic cats. there can still be shady zoos but it weeds out videos of animals in people’s living rooms

Add “vet” if you’re searching for reference on how large/small an animal looks next to a human instead of exotic pet vids. vets and zoos can be very fond of sharing educational pics of an anesthetized animal’s cool features or a huge paw/teeth besides a human hand. vet visits for beloved zoo animals also tend to draw the media so there’s many articles written for them and in general i just love learning about weird vet procedures on exotic animals, 10/10 rabbit hole.

“Morph” or “mutation” tends to give you more legit resources on animal variations instead of photoshop edits.

Even though i know there’s a difference I also find that searching “leucistic” just gives you less fake stuff than the more commonly known albino or “white___” unless its a very common mutation. same with “dilute” instead of blue and such.

My versions of the x-men

things or changes that I would make if I made an xmen story, I will probably draw my versions at some point but now I don't have time so write down some of my ideas so I don't forget

-Magneto acts more like a radical activist than a "we must kill all the humans" type

-Xavier being in a wheelchair was the humans' fault, that's why he's more of a pacifist, he's afraid the same thing will happen to his students if they act differently

-Xavier has a long-haired white cat named Meow-Neto

-Logan and Laura have vitiligo to represent how Wolverines have lighter colored spots on them

-Gambit was born albino that's why they called him "le diable blanc" (the white devil) it wasn't until he was a teenager when his powers got out of control that his hair turned brown

-Gambit is a trans man and the scars on his chest are magenta/red like his eyes

-rogue gets her hair white when she takes away Ms. Marvel's powers

-Scott's powers cause him to not be able to see well/have low vision so he uses a cane

Personally i think Kidd is closer to a boar, but oda says fighting bull so i wanted to play with that. Then, I went more local to me- Kidd as an American Bison and Killer as the largest n.american weasel- the wolverine (albino version)

Is there any bird (or animal) you hope to see irl someday that you haven't already?

SO MANY!!!!

My dream is to someday see an albatross but I really like birds! I have a small list of birds I really passionately want to see in the wild including: flamingo, roseate spoonbill, cardinal, and puffin. But there are a ton of birds I think it would be cool, if not entirely responsible to look for as well. Like I'd love to see a potoo or a nightjar, but I don't like the idea of disturbing them

There are a lot of animals native to the Pacific Northwest that I would love to stumble across as well, hopefully from a safe distance. Wolves, wolverines, certain snakes and frogs and newts and salamanders, porcupines, cougars, orcas, sturgeon, etc

I have been fortunate enough to see humpback whales, elk (on a beautiful misty plain on the Oregon Coast), salmon, seals, sea lions, and an albino deer in the wild!

Minette Rates Love, Death & Robots, Vol.2

(Again, as spoiler free as possible, which is to say not very. Sorry about that.)

AUTOMATED CUSTOMER SERVICE - Offputing animation style and eyeroll-worthy antitechnology message redeemed to a staggering extent by a decent story and, most of all, by being fucking hillarious, maybe the funniest short so far. See, this is how you do satire! 8/10

ICE - This one is... Complicated. The animation was beautifully stylized and appropriately atmospheric - except for the humans, who were just plain hideous. The worldbuilding was pretty lame - except for the whales and the way it played into the unironically good story and characters. Overall, flawed, but pretty good. 7/10

POP SQUAD - The story and message of this one were so utterly horrible that I might have to write an entire meta unpacking them. In short: just read The Declaration series by Gemma Malley instead (or at least the first book, I haven't read the rest). 1/10 for semi-decent animation and cute kids.

SNOW IN THE DESERT - This one had a few interesting kernels, like interesting worldbuilding and concept for a main character, but they all come to naught as the emotional core of the story is a deeply lame romance between extremely poorly drawn character. The pixie cut girl works for a government agency whose main goal is to get Snow, except she completely forgets it because of his magical dick. Which is supposed to be kinda miraculous, but in a completely different way. Snow is better, in that he's just a dude who wants to be left alone and enjoy simple things in life that your regular grunts on this desert hellworld don't have access to. I... I don't get it. Like you could definitely make some point of the fact that he's incredibly privileged by local standards, but they don't. Overall, what this all boils down to is that someone dropped an albino Wolverine onto a Tatooine-esque planet, let him do some cool action scenes defending himself from random bounty hunters and gave him a sexy lamp, I mean cyborg as love interest, while deeply sucking in writing both romance and Wolverine. Fun to roast and rewrite, somewhat entertaining to watch, not too amusing to remember. 4/10 for the potential

THE TALL GRASS - Now we're cooking! Classical lovecraftian short, where a man briefly encounters the Horrors, explained just enough to be more scary than your regular monster, but not enough to ruin the mystery. Also the animation is great and the whole concept of Horrors hiding in a tall grass just Appeals to me. 10/10

ALL TROUGHOUT THE HOUSE - I was kinda dreading this one, because I am a scaredy cat, but turns out nothing terrible even really happens, and now I don't know whether to be glad or disappointed. "Not suitable for children" my ass; look, it's true that the Entity design was appropriately gnarly, so I wouldn't want my kid to watch this, but if it did anyway, I could plausibly just claim the Entity is completely benevolent and just looks Like That so that kids are scared into being good. I mean, it could've demonstrated a miniscule level of malice by, like, eating their misbehaving dog or whatever. Nevertheless, it is a fun, bizzare little tale and the design of the Entity was so good that I still liked it a lot. 7/10

LIFE HUTCH - A fun, imaginative little piece of survival horror in space, even better than The Helping Hand from the previous volume. Also Michael B. Jordan is pretty, sue me. 9/10

THE DROWNED GIANT - This one was thoroughly spoiled for me by Jacob Geller. Good news is, very little actually happens in it anyway and it's more about the vibes than anything. Bad news is, the vibes were spoiled for me by Jacob Geller too. This one I think might've been more impactful in written form, or as a mostly silent movie, but as a movie with narration it just doesn't land. I recommend you read the original short story and/or watch the Jacob Geller video essay Fear Of Big Things Underwater. 5/10

After seeing so many other people come up with their own cool and interesting original versions of TMNT, I wanted to give it a try of my own!! I pulled a bit of inspo from Rise and 2012, but these are still my own original versions and storyline! tentatively calling it “TMNT: Family Bonds“ unless i come up with something better.

My current plan is still VERY MUCH A WIP, and i don’t have any official art or designs yet, but have some semblance of a timeline worked out, as well as a couple major plot points. Some things worth noting now are

Venus is included in the turtle siblings

The turtles were intentionally mutated in this version

Yokai exist in this version and they’re different from mutants

some of the major consistent characters (shredder/krang) will be here, other villains and side characters will be made by me

Shredder is a mutant in this world

Mikey and Venus are the “twins” in this version, not Leo and Donnie

I just... *Sigh* modern au where you find your soulmate through a Tamagotchi. Like, you have five years and this little handgame pops out of nowhere and now you have to take care of the little animal cause the little animal is a representation of your soulmate.

Tanjirou, the poor oblivious boy, have nine of them. The most easy to take care is the pink-green poodle. She just needs love and affection. The worst is the white wolverine covered with scars. He looks like he wants fight with everyone and everything and commit mass murder, but Tanjirou just think that he is a shy little guy who needs some love and serotonin.

And there is the black-turquoise house cat. He isn't the only cat here, but the other one is a big ass lion with yellow-red mane who's always screaming like a banshee while he is eating, while this cat is just staring off into space before Tanjirou pats him on the head.

He don't have any comments about the eccentric cockatoo, or the albino python. They're just... weird.

The butterfly is perhaps the simplest to keep busy, but Tanjirou still finds she's a little scary because she's constantly produces poison. He doesn't think butterflies should produce poison, but that was none of his business as long as she was enjoying herself.

There is also a blind bull. Of the nine he is perhaps the calmest. Tanjirou just doesn't understand why he's always crying.

The latter is the only one that is a sea creature. Tanjirou has never seen a whale shark in his life, but after doing some research, he discovers that a whale shark is not a whale, but a shark which is not aggressive like other shark species. He's just here, chilling and eating fish and being nice.

Nezuko's gliding squirrel is a nervous little thing that screams whenever Tanjirou leaves the Tamagotchi wolverine near him. There's also Takeo's lion cub which is suspiciously similar to Tanjirou's lion which is paired with the Tasmanian devil that Takeo swears is Tanjirou's wolverine brother. Hanako has a trio of colorful butterflies, and Shigeo has a really stubborn beaver. Rokuta, thankfully, is too young to own a Tamagotchi yet, but no one in the Kamado family is too excited about it – Rokuta is so cute that everyone is sure he's going to be like Tanjirou and have a lot of Tamagotchi. Tanjurou is still not very impressed with Tanjirou's Tamagotchi, by the way.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, nine people fight each other over whose turn it is to take care of the cute tanuki Tamagotchi this time.
