Marco Albiero was at the exhibition at San Marino Comics on August 28th where they had featured art from Princess Tutu and other artwork by Ikuko Itoh. He even met and received Princess Tutu art from Itoh-sensei herself!

OH YEAH I forgot Italin producction used officcial artworks for Mermaid Melody some that is hard to find currently. They also used some Marcco Albiero's artwork for story books (I don't know how those are called in italian, but it's like story books with stickers) and they did use his artwork in Mermaid Melody magazines as well. (Sorry for my hype, aside from Winx, I love Mermaid Melody xD)

Holy shit, is there anything Marco Albiero hasn't done? This man is carrying two countries' media production on his back all by himself!

His own portfolio websites has all his works, albeit at a questionable quality

Considering the copyright, it seems he was called for official art for the japanese market already in 2003-2005, before the series EVER came to Italy in 2007!

To relate to Winx, this may be how Season 3 had mermaid dolls produced at the perfect time and those scrapped Mermaid Winx concepts. If news that Marco Albiero was working on a mermaid focused magical girl anime came to Rainbow, they surely caught up by the time the dub was in the works for Italian broadcasting... But they decided to not compete and instead focused on enchantix.

I was gonna ask about the animamate doujin (hope I spelled that right), but I noticed the frog animamate in your banner, who are they?? what's the lore of mysterious frog???

Both Animamates at each extremity of my banner are exclusive to the Sailor Moon musicals. The frog Animamate is called Sailor Titanium Kerokko (also known as Mitis Kerokko depending on the musicals). The gray fox Animamate is Sailor Pewter Fox. Both of them were replacements for Lead Crow and Aluminum Seiren in the older musicals (1996-97). Marco Albiero, who's an official Sailor Moon artist, drew both of them in the 90s artstyle:

It’s really great to see, who I consider, my favorite artists come together!

I have featured some of Marco Albiero’s art extensively on this Tumblr as he has referenced Itoh-sensei’s style not just for his Sailor Moon art but also some of his other works (ie Witch & Bitch).

This is an amazing moment to have some recent Itoh-sensei work and appearances and to feature Marco who has showcased her iconic character design during her Sailor Moon and Princess Tutu runs.

it seems that either the source that the creator of ttt_dolls found it from(or, even more frustratingly, the creator themselves) either cropped or edited the image so that the rainbow and the artist's signature weren't visible. Either that, or there is another version out there without the artist's signature at all.

I'm glad that this beautiful piece can finally get the recognition it deserves!

hey, classic mlp fandom, can you help me out?

i play a lot of Garry's Mod, and these two beautiful g1-styled images appear in the TTT(Trouble in Terrorist Town) map, ttt_dolls

ttt_dolls was uploaded to the Steam Workshop by Delta7x, but they are transparent in the description of the addon that this is an older map that was not created by them. frustratingly, they do not credit the original creator of the map, so i have no idea who made it.

now, I don't know if the second one is official art(I wouldn't be surprised if it is), but the first one clearly looks like fanart to me. I could be wrong, but it certainly seems like it.

does anyone know where these images might be from? does anyone know the artists? who are these little ponies?

I was asked by handsome #Ikuo Ito-sensei to draw the #Princess Tutu series. I apologize if it took me a long time to draw it, but I had a lot of work to do so I drew it in my free time. I hope you understand my love and respect for her. If you are a fan too, take a look at this series!

Kerokko appreciation post, sera myu exclusive Animamate from the Stars musicals (96-97) and Eien Desentsu (97). She was first played by Haruko Yamaguchi in the Stars musicals (as Sailor Titanium Kerokko) and Megumi Wakamatsu in the Eien one (renamed to Sailor Mitis Kerokko). Just like Pewter Fox, she deserves more content. She’s absolutely adorable.
