Kill For You (Albert James Moriarty x OC)

"You want to do what ?" Estelle asked in disbelief as she watched Albert James Moriarty smile that damn smile of his.

"I want to court you to a ball." He said, smiling as if there was nothing controversial about his statement. "You never go to events."

"That's because I'm never invited." Estelle said, rolling her eyes. "And you know why."

"You never leave this house unless it's to meet with me or my brothers and most of the time that's work." Albert said, grabbing her hand. "I assure you that no one will bother you and if they do, I will make them regret it." The eldest Moriarty turned on his charm and kissed her hand, knowing that it would fluster her. "Just humor me."

Estelle groaned and looked away so that he wouldn't be able to see how flustered he made her. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

"I absolutely hate it when you do that." She said. "Fine. I'll go. But if I don't like it, I'm leaving and you cannot ask me to go anywhere else and it's not my fault if you stop getting invited to things."

"As you wish." Albert grinned.

(Estelle's Ball Attire)

"Oh my lady, you look absolutely ravishing this evening !" Albert complimented, helping Estelle into the carriage.

"Don't call me 'your lady', we're not courting each other, you're forcing me to go to a ball that I don't want to go to, Mr Moriarty." Estelle huffed.

"Always so formal, I told you that you can call me Albert." The male said, holding her hand in his.

"You never told me who's ball this is in the first place." Estelle said.

"Viscount Edward Edevane." Albert answered. Estelle scoffed.

"As if he'd even let me inside !" She said. "You are absolutely mad."

"He'll let you in if you're with me." Albert said. "You're my lady for the evening and I intend to have you by my side tonight."

"You are truly something else." Estelle said as the carriage stopped.

"It looks like we've arrived." Albert said, exiting the carriage, his arm linked with Estelle's as the headed to the front door, where a butler stood, obviously to greet guests. Albert held out his invitation to the Butler. The Butler shot a glare at Estelle.

"Where is your invitation ?" He asked quite snootily.

"My invitation told me to bring a plus one and Lady Estelle Moreau is my plus one." Albert said. "Are we going to have a problem ?" He asked, rather darkly.

"Of course not my lord." The Butler said quickly. "Let me show you to the ballroom and announce your arrival." He said, leading the pair.

"I told you that this was a bad idea." Estelle said, shooting a glare at Albert.

"Oh hush, the night has just started." Albert said. Estelle started at the older Moriarty brother. He was strange to her from the moment they met. She wouldn't admit it but she was absolutely captivated by him. She wasn't sure if his behavior was genuine or if we was secretly manipulating her, so she kept a distance from his affections.

"Now announcing the arrival of Lord Albert James Moriarty and his lady, Lady Estelle Moreau !" The Butler yelled into the ballroom. Everyone stopped to stare at the two. Estelle heard visible gasps and even saw jaws drop. Yet Albert remained unphased by the entire situation. He only smiled and walked, to get some champagne from a nearby table, handing Estelle a glass. As she went to take a sip, she heard whispers.

"I hope the Viscount plans to throw that glass away."

"How could someone like Lord Moriarty bring someone like that here ?"

"How could it just touch Lord Moriarty like that ?!?"

"The Viscount better have it thrown out before it ruins the party."

"Lord Moriarty knows better than to bring his servants."

"Ugh, I'd rather have a commoner here than one of them."

Estelle felt her hand shake. Tears started to well in her eyes but she blinked them away. They wouldn't have the satisfaction of seeing her cry. 'Damn this ball, damn this party, damn these people and damn Al-' Her internal rant was cut off by Albert unlinking his arm from hers and wrapping his arm around her waist. Estelle almost audibly gasped along with their spectators. Albert set his empty champagne glass down and took Estelle's half drunk one.

"May I ?" Albert asked before taking a sip from the part of the glass Estelle sipped from before putting it down. Estelle swore she heard a woman faint.

"What is your plan, Albert ?" She asked, squinting her eyes at him. "Was your goal just to use me as a shock prop ?"

"No, definitely not." Albert said "I want you to have a lovely night. You are human too after all. I'm treating you like any other lady I've courted to these things but I want to court you and call you mine, to show you a great time and that I will never be afraid to show you off as mine to the public because of who you are. We all bleed red, you've said it yourself, but my heart bleeds for you."

Estelle swore her heart was going to burst out of her chest. Damn that charming bastard. Why did he have to do this here and now ? Albert snapped her out of her thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I was just thinking, what did you say ?" Estelle apologized, looking at the elder Moriarty.

"That's one of the things that I love about you.You're always thinking" He grinned. "I asked you if you wanted to dance, you do know how to dance, right ?"

"No one ever taught me how." Estelle said. "No man has ever offered to waltz with me. I did learn how to tango on a trip to Argentina a year ago. My teacher was a wonderful man."

"Well, I'll have you know, that despite Will being the teacher in the family, I make an excellent dance teacher." Albert said. "Come. Let's go to the dance floor."

He led her to the dance floor. It was almost as if the crowd separated automatically, not wanting to even breathe near Estelle. Even some of the people on the dance floor stopped waltzing to move away.

"Follow my lead and only pay attention to me." Albert said, wrapping an arm around her waist while taking her hand. Estelle instinctively wrapped an arm around his shoulder, as they slowly began to waltz. It didn't take long for her to get the hang of it.

"Are you sure that you've never waltzed before ?" Albert asked. "You're surprisingly good at this."

"I told you that I learned how to tango in Argentina. This is like a less passionate tango." Estelle answered.

"You must teach me to tango sometime." Albert hummed.

"If you can keep up, then I'd be glad to." She gave a small but brief smile. Albert lit up inside. If only he could make her smile even brighter. If everything would go as planned tonight, he'd see a smile on her face.

"Lord Moriarty, what is the meaning of this ?!?" A voice boomed. Estelle and Albert stopped waltzing to see none other than Viscount Edward Edevane himself. Albert feigned ignorance.

"What do you mean ?" He asked, tilting his head.

"Oh you know what I mean ! How dare you bring one of those into my home !" The Viscount snapped.

"She is my lady and I would prefer it if you would refrain speaking about her in such an I'll manner." Albert said, glaring at the Viscount. The Viscount scoffed.

"You refer to that thing as lady ? Don't make me laugh !" He spat. "It is nothing more than an animal ! It's like painting lipstick on a pig !" He laughed. Albert squeezed Estelle's hand rather tightly. He watched as the Viscount laughed until his face turned red. He then noticed that the Viscount gripped his chest and started wheezing. A few people ran to attend to the Viscount.

"We need a doctor ! Is anyone here a doctor ?!?"

"My lady here is a doctor but I doubt that the Viscount wants her treating him, after all, he said she's nothing more than an animal so we'll just be on our way." Albert said, doing his best to hide his cruel smile. He looked towards Estelle, her eyes widening as the Viscount let out a sickening wheeze before collapsing, limp on the ground. He was dead. Albert escorted Estelle out, the stunned partygoers just standing in shock.

"Okay, out with it, what did you do ?" Estelle asked, seeing Louis pull up in the carriage, opening the door for the both of them. Estelle greeted Louis before getting into the carriage.

"The Viscount was on blood thinners." Albert simply said, sitting next to her. "And when I helped you when you were running medicine the other day, you informed one of your patients to not consume much vitamin K and greens while on blood thinners because it will cause clots. From sources, I found out that he was on the same blood thinners. Earlier today, I had Louis make a quiche with spinach, kale and all sorts of leafy greens and send it over to the Viscount's as a gift and Fred, disguised as one of the Viscount's servants, saw that he ate every bite because our dear Viscount was quite the gluttonous man. It canceled out his blood thinners and caused clots, resulting in a heart attack."

Estelle glared at him. Albert bit his lip, thinking that she was upset with him, until she started laughing so loudly that it could wake the dead. He'd never heard her laugh before but here she was, before him, laughing to tears. She stopped to breathe.

"Albert, you are something else !" She said. "You took a one off comment about medication and devised a whole plan ! You Moriartys are wonderful !" She sighed, calming down, but still grinning. "Tell me that you didn't do this for me ?"

"I did it mostly for you, despite the fact that the Viscount was already one of our targets." Albert said. "To show you that my feelings for you are serious."

"I'd never had a man kill for me before." She said. "I hope you know that I'm impressed with your dedication."

"Will you allow me to officially court you now ?" He asked, holding her hands. The carriage stopped and Louis, opened the door.

"We've arrived at your home, Lady Estelle." Louis said, helping her out of the carriage, as Albert followed her, walking her to her door like the gentleman he was.

"You're a man after my heart, Albert, and clearly you'd do anything to have it, doing the most outrageous things that would have most kicked out of high society." She said with a smirk. "And I can't pretend that I don't feel the same way about you for much longer, so my answer is yes."

Albert grinned.

"I hope you know that you've made me a very happy man." Albert said.

"I hope you know that you've made me a very happy woman." Estelle smiled. "I do believe that we will make quite the pair."

Hello, Roxana! So I see you request first kiss/date. However, may I offer first murder/familial bonding? I've always been one for the slow burn, after all. :P

This one has about 940 words, and I do hope you enjoy it!

Albert carefully tucked a blanket around his younger brothers, both sound asleep on the other side of the train compartment. William had barely made it onto the train before falling into a dead sleep–Louis had reassured Albert and Y/N that this was normal when William overworked his mind on a plan. Still, he was pleased to see both of them getting rest after all the work they both put in to this particular crime. Lord Albert Moriarty and his two younger brothers, along with his fiancée, had requested to go to the seaside for a few days, citing the doctor’s recommendation for Louis’s health. Y/N’s parents had agreed, their pleasure with Albert’s sudden interest in their daughter making them ignorant of any suspicions.

Even as their train pulled out of the station, William’s plan was already set in motion by Amelia’s elderly father, whose failing liver from years of drinking had left his days numbered. The front page of every newspaper in London tomorrow would read of the horrible robbery-turned-murder committed by a drunkard desperate for money with nothing left to lose.

After making sure that both of his brothers were comfortable, Albert settled down on the seat next to Y/N. One glance at her hands, which had fistfuls of her skirt in a white-knuckled grip, confirmed his worries about her and the emotional burden joining his world would cause. He placed one of his larger hands over hers and felt her relax slightly. “Does it get easier?”

The oldest Moriarty brother considered the question. “Which part? The murder, or the loneliness.”

“Both, I suppose.” That made him grimace. “It does, from my experience. Once you have nothing left to lose, it’s easier to dedicate yourself to the task at hand.”

“I have you, don’t I?” The innocence of the question caused him to squeeze her hand slightly. “Of course, Y/N. You have me, William, and Louis.”

They sat in silence as the countryside passed outside the window, afternoon light giving way to darkness as it gets closer to evening. Finally, William woke up, red eyes blinking blearily as they adjusted to the dim light of the compartment. “How long?”

“Only a few hours. Louis seemed to need the rest too, so I thought I’d wait for both of you to wake up before we went to the dining car.” Albert’s words were what made William aware of his younger brother, still sound asleep with his head against William’s shoulder. The blond boy lowered his voice to just above a whisper, “I’d hate to wake him–he stayed up yesterday in order to set up Joseph’s entrance into the house. You two should go dine, I’ll stay and keep an eye on him. Just bring us back something, alright?”

Albert nodded, standing up as quietly as he could before offering his arm to Y/N. Once the two had exited the compartment, she looked at him with a worried expression. “Are you certain we shouldn’t wait for them? William didn’t eat much at dinner yesterday, and I know that most of what disappeared from his plate was smuggled to Louis. We should make sure they’re eating enough.”

The warmth that he felt in his chest at Y/N’s concern for his younger brothers was a pleasant surprise to Albert, and he patted her hand that was resting in the crook of his arm reassuringly. “I’m sure we can bring enough back to tide them over until morning. By then, we’ll have arrived in Brighton and can make sure they both get a hearty breakfast.”

He could feel her relax at his words, worries properly mollified. “That will have to do, I suppose. Do you know what either of them particularly enjoy when it comes to food?”

“Unfortunately, no. William is still working through the worries of food insecurity, giving him a tendency to eat anything put in front of him without any discretion, and Louis is the same. The only time they don’t eat something is when they’re saving it for the other.” He remembered the first time William had been allowed to eat at the table as a noble, watching him inhale any portion of the meal that would be too difficult to take away before sneaking everything else into his napkin to take to Louis. He also remembered how his heart had ached when he saw that Louis had done the same for William, tucking away whatever stale bread had been given to him for his brother. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Y/N’s expression tighten, becoming one of anger. “How could anyone do that to a child, or any human being, for that matter? Even the cat that my family kept in the stable was treated better than that!”

She picked up her pace slightly, dragging him after her. “Come on, Albert, we must get there while the crowd is still thick. It’ll be easier to sneak things out without arousing suspicion with that much distraction, and I intend to order as many breads and pastries as they allow. I’ve never met a child who didn’t enjoy a nice dessert. If we’re lucky, they might be serving pasties, so Lou and Will can have something of substance to eat.”

As his betrothed continued to talk about the best ways of getting the food out and exactly how much she wanted to make sure they had for the boys before they left, Albert simply stared at her, an almost dopey grin spreading across his features. Truly, Y/N was going to be the one thing his parents had ever done right.
