Neal + waiting
Neal leans on his practice sword as he sulks in the practice yards at Pirate's Swoop, thinking of the myriad of other more enjoyable ways he could spend the third bell after lunch--really, even a ride on Peachblossom sounded more enjoyable than sparring with his new knight-mistress. A knight mistress who's late to her own practice session, he adds resentfully in his mind.
He's jerked out of his reverie by the whistle of a dagger flying mere inches from his ear, followed by a cackle from the wall above and a shout, "If you won't learn vigilance from me, Queenscove, I'm happy to let Aly teach it!"

honestly I think the wrong parent was sent to pick up Aly in the ending of Trickster's Choice
the entire book we see through Kyprioths visions to Aly that Alanna, above all, cares for Aly, that she really does see Aly for who she is and worries terribly for her lost, hidden daughter, angry and upset and scared. She's constantly scrying for her with the mirror Thom gave her--her daughter is missing and her husband lied to her about it.
After months and months of worrying and praying, Alanna finally knows where her daughter is. She loves George, she does, but he lied to her about her only daughter's well being. And after the 8 years of her training constantly lying to everyone Alanna is sick of it, sick of doing it and avoids it at almost all cost--but for this? For the love she has for her daughter?
She’s been worried sick, scrying every free hour, distracted and blaming herself for her daughter’s disappearance. She's not needed in Frasrland, not really, not with this stalemate at the border. The killing devices are all gone and nothing is happening there. They don't need her--but Aly does.
She’s been married to George for 20 years and she’s known him for 30--she’s picked up a few tricks on how to go around unseen, how to slip away seamlessly but first there are a few things she has to do.
Her husband with his nondescript features can roam freely.  She cannot. She’s far too distinctive nowadays, but to quote her daughter that is what razors and dyes are for. Her long hair is her pride and joy. After years of cutting it boyishly short, as well as being a good enough fighter she can have long hair--it’s her one vanity.
She loves her hair. She’d topple kingdoms for her daughter.
A short and stocky man with copper red hair isn't the ideal spy, but shes here to find her daughter--its the story she goes with. She’s looking for her daughter, a Tortallan, who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in the Copper Isles. She speaks enough Carthaki to get by and well it’s not like she can’t defend herself, even with just a knife and hand to hand.
The only dead giveaway about her are her purple eyes, but she's a mage, with a powerful Gift specializing in manipulating the human body--if there's a magical way to create an illusion or temporarily change your eye color she would know it. If not, I'm sure George has found a way and she's already used it before.
This barely scratches the surface of what she’d do for Aly. She's a mage, with a powerful Gift specializing in manipulating the human body--if there's a magical way to create an illusion or temporarily change your eye color she would know it. If not, I'm sure George has found a way. She glamors her eyes to look the same as her daughter and her husband. She lightly dyes her hair, making it a more blondish red like Aly's.
She finds a young squire stationed at the border and surreptitiously steals some of his clothes and other supplies around camp, her personal weaponry far too flashy and distinctive.
Aly isn’t the only one who was trained by the King of Thieves.
You can’t tell me she’s never done anything like this with George, not wanting to be stared at by people who recognize the famous Lioness, either getting him out of some scrapes or just relaxing and having fun.
Kyprioth is sweating bullets. There's only so much he can hide, although he has far more power in the Copper Isles than Tortall so he can't stop her but he’ll do his best to hide her from the Goddess but uhhhhhhhh there’s only So Much he can do.
Alanna is Determined--she will find her daughter and is she maybe less subtle than George was? Sure. But all the same, she’s brought to the Balitang’s home in Rajmuat and makes her way to Lombyn.
It’s the same scene, of Alanna approaching Winnamine , introducing herself as Alan Cooper and asking to buy Aly-- Winnamine realizing “Alan” isn’t really here to buy Aly.
It takes Aly just a little longer to recognize Alanna--and she comes to a halt and is filled with shock because this is the Lioness, her mother who is persona non grata to the Copper Isles due to killing one of their princesses decades ago (and wow that might actually get Ochabu to tolerate her mother) and would probably be either killed or ransomed as a hostage p much on sight, the King’s Champion, one of the most distinctive and famous women in the continent--is here.
She’s here, her hair short and lighter and her purple eyes--they’re very similar to Aly’s now. Alanna letting out a sob at the sight of her daughter--her hair also shorter, eyebrow scar, broken nose, but alive and safe and still with that spark in her eye.
Just. The PARALLELS of both having the explicit approval of their god to deceive and lie and how they both deceived so many people to achieve their goals. Aly seeing her mother engage in spycraft and trickery to try to find her is probably a better apology than Alanna could ever find the words for
Later after Alanna had her Own standoff with Kyprioth she tells Aly she didn’t want this life for her, not because she was a noble or a Trebond but because she’s Alanna’s daughter and she knows how hard it is to keep a secret and deceive the people she cared about, and how much it hurt when it all came out. That’s something George never had to deal with--George has never really had to deceive his loved ones. They’ve always known he’s Crooked and an inkling of what he’s been up to--but Alanna has. She did it for 8 long years and she was good at it too, but the amount of pain it brought her after meant she never wanted that for her daughter.
Alanna earned her shield through treachery, the constant fear of being found out dogging her footsteps and once she got it she made sure no other girl would have to.
For Aly just to be reminded how similar she really is to her mother and begrudgingly putting that together--for Kyprioth to tell Aly that yes George gave her the skills he needed that made Aly his ideal Spymaster and what she’s done so far in keeping the Balitangs safe is why he wants her to stay, but it was Alanna’s actions that really sold him on recruiting Aly in the first place.
(I have other feelings about Kyprioth and Alanna here because d a m n “they say he loves a good trick”--as a girl for 8 years Alanna fooled the Tortallan monarchy and nobility. That’s what his Promised Queen will have to do. And he is George’s patron--it would make sense that both of them loved aspects of Alanna.)
(also while she’s there it’d be hilarious for Sarai to spar against Alanna and have her ass handed to her--it’d be a great nod back to when Aly was observing Sarai and thinking about her own training bc it sure would make Ulasim wonder wait can Aly use a sword????)
(also if anyone wants to write this go for it)

Reasons I think Alanna the Lioness is is autistic:
since realizing I'm autistic, the more I think about it the more Alanna seems autistic to me. the only books I've listened to recently are Tortall books by going through them all then going back to the first one and listening to them all again (Immortals quartet, the Bekka Cooper books, the Song of the Lioness, Protector of the Small quartet, the trickster books, then Tempests and Slaughter.) going through them again and again I notice more things that I didn't when I was a kid (obviously,) and I'm more aware of the signs of autism since realizing I'm autistic. anyway here are my reasons:
is a girl and wants to be a knight, then actually does become a knight which goes against the societal norms of the time
becomes friends with George, and many others in the court of the rogue, who are in a different social class. she does start out believing nobles shouldn't marry commoners but she gets over that. two of her three romantic relationships are with commoners
she also becomes friends with the soldiers she and John are stationed with when they're fighting in the Drell river valley, and she eats with them instead of going to the fort to eat with the other nobles. she thinks it's silly for them to travel so far when it's more convenient to just eat in camp, which illustrates her disregard of social hierarchies. she is also open to learning from people considered to be "below" her
Alanna fights Ralon of Malven over and over even though she keeps losing, which could indicate she has really strong moral beliefs. she also talks a lot about how she hates lying to her friends
she is described as different from her friends, after yelling at them about how she doesn't want to go swimming, Garry (I think) says "you seem to think we won't like you if you don't do what everyone else does, but did you ever think we like you because you're different?" (not an exact quote but basically
most of Alanna's friends are older than her, in The First Adventure when John asks if she can come to Persopolis, the book says she's thought of as more of "a very small squire" than as a page. autistic people often relate better to people who are older or younger than them than to their peers
throughout the series Alanna is distressed by changes in her body like developing breasts and says multiple times she wishes she were born a boy. this is in direct contrast to Kel who states on several occasions she likes being a girl. this could be because she has to pretend to be a boy, but autistics are more likely to be trans or gender nonconforming
she is described as being very uncomfortable at parties and in social settings
autism is highly heritable (1) her father has several autistic traits. he is very focused on his academic pursuits to the point that he neglects everything else, he doesn't have any friends and doesn't seem interested in any kind of social interaction, he has the fixed rigid belief that all magic is bad because it couldn't save the twins' mother. according to Sir Gareth he had been that way since he was a child. (2) Tom seems to share a lot of these traits with his father. he is also very focused on his studies although he is studying magic, he leaves the management of Trebond to Alanna because he is not interested in it just being a mage, he also seems to have no interest in having friends or being social. according to an NIH study that came up when I googled it if one twin is autistic the other is also autistic 96% of the time
Alanna has to very consciously learn the social expectations and rules for being a boy and being a girl
Alanna goes to Miles for advice a lot, in one of the books it literally says she talks to him so he can explain why people act the way they do and for him to explain their motivations
she is known for her temper and saying what's on her mind very bluntly
she has a talking cat who's basically her best friend if that isn't autistic coded idk what is
there are probably more things I can't think of right now so I might add more later who knows. I also wrote most of this post before and it randomly deleted itself so I'm not sure if I remembered all of my points from before unfortunately.

8.24pm, Alexia Tarabotti and Alanna of Pirate’s Swoop and Olau, outside on the terrace. Song lyric: “and I resent you just a little if I’m honest, one of us has gotta try to keep a promise”.
this prompt made me realize how long its been since i read Parasol Protectorate, so that series is back on the list and moving up -- i miss them! all that to say, I went with Alanna for your ficlet because I just reread Song of the Lioness in December so it's a lot fresher. hope you like it!
want your own ficlet? submit your prompt using these guidelines through January 31, 2024.
⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
past the eighth bell, terrace
Alanna is not cut out for this kind of sneaking around.
She may have won the duel against Kel, may have faked good humor, may have joked around with the New Hope soldiers and commanders all afternoon, but she can’t pretend anymore tonight.
Dinner’s barely over, but she excuses herself to her quarters, waving off offers of just one more round with a forced smile. As soon as she clears the mess hall, she lets her face drop with a sigh and makes her way across the compound to the guest quarters with a purposeful stride.
Thankfully, no one stops her.
Alanna isn’t tired, per se, she just can’t handle being around people any longer—the only people she wants to see right now are miles, possibly oceans away.
Her rooms are too small to contain her frustration, so Alanna slips out onto the terrace attached to her suite—perks of being the Lioness. She leans heavily on the railing and looks up at the sky. The Cat constellation seems to wave at her somehow, and a reluctant grin tugs at the side of her lips. She can hear echoes of Faithful’s reproaches in her mind. He’d certainly have an earful for her if he could see her now.
Are you really sulking because someone else gets to be the hero this time around?
As she gazes up at the stars, Alanna lets her vision blur, trying to center herself before she retires for the night. It would be a lot easier if George had come with her. Or if he’d already found their wayward daughter and brought her back to the Swoop, safe and sound.
But they’d agreed: Alanna would go about her business as normal—saying nothing about Aly’s disappearance, so as not to draw attention from the wrong sort of people—and George would search for Aly.
Alanna wasn’t built for this, for maintaining a placid face, for lying about her family, for doing nothing. She had never been one for downtime. Gods, even during the Tusaine War as a squire she’d been helping out in the healer’s tents every chance she could. She’d never come up against something like this, a problem that some action on her part couldn’t solve.
It’s maddening, actually.
And she knows—she knows, okay?—that she can’t be the one to search for her daughter, to rescue her, to bring her back home. Alanna knows she’s too inconspicuous, too famous—that any hint of Aly being the Lioness’ daughter would put her in even more danger.
But damn it all, she resents the fact that she has to maintain a front, that she has to pretend, to friends and enemies alike, that all is well.
In her pettier moments, she even resents George.
Alanna scrubs a hand over her face in frustration. Dwelling on the impossibility of her situation won’t help her sleep tonight, won’t bring Aly back any sooner.
All she can do is hope. And put her faith in her husband, and the gods, to bring her daughter home.

Rating: General Audiences Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply Category: Gen Fandom: Tortall - Tamora Pierce Characters: Alanna of Pirate's Swoop and Olau, Delia of Eldorne, Maura of Dunlath Additional Tags: Missing Scene, Frank discussion of treason, Truce for the sake of the traumatized child Word count: 6625
Summary:
“This is Maura of Dunlath,” Sir Alanna says. “She wanted to talk to you.” Delia can’t quite keep her surprise from her face. “Is that so?” she asks. “My sister Yolane was executed for high treason three weeks ago yesterday,” Maura says, and Delia blinks. “I wanted to ask you some questions.”
Oh hey, were you expecting literally any of the fics I've been posting about for days now? Too bad, you get this instead! The ten-years-on discussion between Delia, Alanna, and Maura of Dunlath that I didn't know I needed until yesterday and have now written. Enjoy!
Excerpt:
Lady Delia of Eldorne does not receive unexpected visitors. The Hag-Daughter comes twice monthly, to instruct her in matters of faith and hear her confessions. In years past, the Lord Provost’s agents at Eldorne called upon her regularly, to ensure her continued good behavior and impress upon her the mercy the Crown had shown in permitting her to live. Now, with over a decade gone by and Delia having long since come to terms with her lot in life, the Provost’s agents have been reassigned elsewhere. Her own family visits rarely, generally only once a year during Midwinter, and she is permitted the company of neither personal friends nor admirers. (Upon first hearing her sentence read out, Delia raged at the phrasing, assuming the King was rubbing salt into the wound that was her failure to find a husband at court. With the benefit of a great deal of forced reflection and perspective, she wonders if it was the King’s awkward attempt at guessing her interests.)
She spends her time reading and working on embroidery. With good behavior has come the right to send and receive letters – combed through by the Lord Provost’s agents and probably others besides – but she has few correspondents. She never had many friends, and what few she did have abandoned her long ago, terrified that treason might be contagious. A great deal of her time is spent in prayer and reflection – the letters she does write are primarily to the Hag-Daughter – and in sanctioned artistic pursuits. Delia never used to be artistic, except in matters of her own presentation, but a decade of enforced solitude and idleness has introduced her to many new ways to pass the time.
It is a monotonous life but not, as she is reminded near-constantly, a bad one. It is a far nicer life than she deserves. She tries her best to be grateful for it.
She has been imprisoned for eleven years and four months when a knock sounds on her parlor door and Rodwin the guardsman announces that she has visitors. Delia sets down her embroidery, a slight frown on her face. It is too early in the month for the Hag-Daughter and the wrong time of year for any of her relations to undertake their once-yearly pilgrimage to gawk at her.
“Enter,” she calls, and it is all she can do to keep from gawking herself as the door opens and in strides in Sir Alanna the Lioness, looking like she would rather be absolutely anywhere else.

Tortallan Squire Word Crawl
By: MagicPomello
Tortallan Squire Word Crawl
Welcome to the Tortallan Squire Word Crawl, where you will embark on a journey through the world of knights, sorcerers, and mythical creatures created by Tamora Pierce. As a young squire, you’ll face numerous trials and adventures on your path to knighthood.
∙∘ ·𖥸· ∘∙ Squires will be required to choose a knight master, depending on their writing speed. Your master will determine your writing pace during this crawl. Lord Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie’s Peak: For those writing at a slower pace with their dog, Jump, while he fetches willow hoops and rolls in rain puddles. Alanna the Lioness of Trebond, Olau, and Pirate’s Swoop: For those writing at an average pace with their horse, Darkmoon, at a steady trot along the Great Road North. Lord Wyldon of Cavall: For those writing at a faster pace with Crown the sparrow - you’re like the wind under her wings.
SPOILER ALERT: These events follow many major events from the plot of Squire, by Tamora Pierce, the third book of the Protector of the Small quartet. While most of the big spoilers have been taken out, proceed with caution. It’s my hope that fans of the author and the series will love this crawl, but I also hope that non-fans (or maybe not-yet fans) will also enjoy the adventure.
LET THE CRAWL BEGIN!
Congratulations on finishing your Page years! You are now officially a Squire of Tortall. Sprint to 100 words to celebrate.
You see the other squires in your year being chosen by their knight masters, and you worry that you’ll get left behind. You visit the Chamber of the Ordeal, which shows you a future in which you are trapped in the life of a desk knight under the tutelage of Gareth of Naxen. Write for 5 minutes to distract yourself from these thoughts.
You have been chosen by a knight master! Your master will determine your writing pace during this crawl. Write for ten minutes. Your word count will determine how many Gold Nobles are in your purse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your best friend gets chosen as Squire to King Jonathan of Conté! Help him celebrate this high honor. Roll a die and multiply your roll by 4. Sprint for that many minutes.
It’s nearly time to set out on your adventure with your new knight master. You must choose a new mount:
Destrier (warhorse): Roll a die and multiply your roll by 50. Write that many words while your new mount gets properly fitted for armor.
Palfrey (mare): Write for 15 minutes to get used to her paces.
Pony: Sprint to 150 words - what a fiery spirit!
You are awakened before dawn - there’s trouble in Haresfield, and you and your knight master must ride out immediately! Write to the nearest thousand as you climb into your saddle and settle in for a long ride. If you need to write more than 500 words for this challenge and choose not to skip this round, take one Gold Noble + .
You’ve arrived in Haresfield, and the place is…a mess. Raiders have taken everything of value, and many of the buildings and homes have been damaged by fire. The King’s Own are hard at work helping. Choose a task and make yourself useful!
Follow centaur tracks: Write for 5 minutes as you search for clues about where the Raiders have gone
Help repair the main gate: Roll a die and multiply your roll by 50. Write while you hammer away.
Return a muddy doll to its owner: Sprint to 150 words. There’s a lonely child somewhere that can’t sleep without it.
Save a man from a collapsing roof: Complete a 50-Headed Hydra challenge. Hurry, the roof is crumbling!
The Queen’s Riders have arrived! You’ve been called into a meeting to serve refreshments while they talk strategy. Write for 10 minutes and pay attention - you might learn something!
You and your knight master will accompany the Queen’s Riders and the King’s Own to capture the Haresfield raiders. Your knight master is debating which post might suit you best during the attack.
Front lines: Sprint to 300 words. Don’t forget your helm!
Scout: Borrow your knight master’s spyglass and climb the nearest tree to keep a lookout. Write for 45 minutes with no breaks.
Command: Impress your knight master by calculating how many words it will take you to write to the nearest 1,000.
Guard the Hidden Escape Route: You doubt anyone will come this way. Write 700 words in 30 minutes while you wait.
The battle is over. Participate in a Three-Digit Challenge while you bathe to wash off the blood and grime from the fight.
If Lady Alanna is your knight master, you may skip this round for free. She will be dragging you to the healers’ tents to observe how they tend battle wounds.
You and your knight master must accompany the Haresfield raiders back to Corus to face justice. It will be a more leisurely pace on the way back than it was coming here. You’ll be driving the wagon that carries the prisoners. Write for one hour while you ride.
Lord Raoul’s Squire: If you write 750 words within the hour, take two Gold Nobles. +
Lady Alanna’s Squire: If you write 1,000 words within the hour take two Gold Nobles. +
Lord Wyldon’s Squire: If you write 1,250 words within the hour take two Gold Nobles.+
Your mount has thrown a shoe. Write 200 words in 10 minutes as you look for a blacksmith.
Succeed - The blacksmith replaces the shoe and gives you a spare. Take one Gold Noble. +
Fail - You spend so long looking for the blacksmith that by the time you find him, it’s well after dark, and he refuses to replace the shoe until morning. Write 200 words as you try to convince him to do it tonight.
Raoul’s Squire may skip this round for free.He and the blacksmith are old friends.
Your old rival from your Page years has challenged you to a duel in the practice courts. Your knight master thinks it would be a good experience for you. Roll a die, multiply by 100, and write as many words as you calm your nerves and prepare for the duel.
During your duel, your rival cheats by using their Gift. Sprint to 250 words and rethink your strategy!
Lord Wyldon’s Squire may skip this round for free. Your rival is too afraid to cheat in his presence!
After your duel, your friends take you out to the Dancing Dove for a night of fun. Write for 15 minutes while you catch up on each other’s adventures.
Midwinter is here! You receive one Gold Noble +  as a gift from your family. You also receive a challenge from your best friend. Write 1,000 words in under an hour.
Succeed - you get one Gold Noble. +
Fail - you must scrub your friend’s armor and write 250 more words.
Your knight master has decided it’s time for you to learn how to joust against a real opponent. You will be jousting against your rival! Your friends are betting on who’s going to win. Word Sprint/Word War with a fellow NaNoWriMo participant for 15 minutes. If you beat them, you win the bet and take 2 of their Gold Nobles + . If you lose, you have to give your friends two Gold Nobles - . Gambling is a risky business!
A contingent of Yamani nobles has arrived at the palace. Their princess is to wed the Crown Prince of Tortall! There is a celebration tonight. Attend the party and write for 10 minutes. Wear your best formal uniform!
Lady Alanna’s Squire may skip this for free - she has dragged you off to a nearby village to study the healing of a very persistent case of the sniffles.
THE GRAND PROGRESS HAS BEGUN! In honor of the Prince’s marriage to the Yamani princess, the King and Queen will be traveling throughout the realm to survey their lands and introduce the new royal couple. Their first stop is Fief Eldorne, where a jousting tournament is to be held. You put your name on the lists, and you are matched with Ansil of Groten. Write 200 words in 5 minutes to win.
Succeed - You win 1 Gold Noble. +
Fail - Write 200 words while your knight master reviews your mistakes.
If Raoul is your knight master, you may skip this round for free. He refuses to be used like a string of pearls to dress up Their Majesties, and he decides to avoid the Progress for now.
The Progress makes its next stop at Tirragen. Write for 20 minutes and watch the Yamani ladies do a fan dance. That fan is heavier than it looks. Is it made of metal?
There’s trouble at the Scanran border. You and your knight master are to go immediately to Fort Mastiff. Things are heating up, and there are reports of something…strange…in the forests nearby. Write 250 words in the saddle. No time to rest!
Lord Wyldon’s Squire may skip this round for free. He dragged you up there three weeks ago and you’ve barely had a moment to breathe ever since! Wyldon doesn’t seem to believe in taking breaks.
The King’s Own are escorting refugees to Fort Mastiff when they get word of a giant nearby and at least 50 Scanrans. Roll a die. If it’s even, write 450 words and take a 15 minute break afterward. If it’s odd, write for 45 minutes and take a 10 minute break afterward.
Your company defeated the giant! Rest up for a day or two at Fort Mastiff. Write for 10 minutes at your own pace.
You can’t believe it’s almost time for Midwinter yet again, and this is your last year as a Squire. It’s a long way back to Corus, and you and your knight master have to hurry if you want to get there in time. Sprint to 500 words.
Back in Corus, You go through the ritual process of preparing for your Ordeal of Knighthood. The priest is opening the door. You enter the chamber. Do a 50-Headed Hydra Challenge as the Chamber tests your worth.
You emerge from the chamber, exhausted but triumphant. You are now a Knight of the Realm. Write for 5 minutes as your friends and family congratulate you and admire your new shield.
You have completed the Tortallan Squire Word Crawl!
∙∘ ·𖥸· ∘∙
You’ve embarked on a thrilling journey through the pages of your imagination. Your dedication, creativity, and perseverance shine through in your achievement.
Much like Keladry of Mindelan, you’ve faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and demonstrated your commitment to your writing goals. Your words are your own sword and shield, and you’ve wielded them with skill.
Savor your success, and may the inspiration you’ve gathered from this adventure carry you forward to even greater literary feats. Your determination is a testament to your potential.
CONGRATULATIONS!

ideas that I hurt myself with:
in tricksters queen, kyprioth's plan that he might have had in his back pocket, like everything is going to hell in a handbasket, there is v little hope left for the rebellion, they can't figure a way out?
would probably let Aly die.
because if Aly dies, George and Alanna "One Woman Army" the Lioness would absolutely get involved and a cascade of people would then also get involved and anyone else Jon could order to heel, but Alanna and George and Daine and Numair and Alan and Raol (that's his squire and his friend--of course he's going) and Neal (thats his knight mistress, of course he would follow) and Kel? Wouldn't really work.
Kyprioth's hail Mary plan has always been Aly.
Just. He's a god--using a mortal doesn't always mean they have to be alive for their plans to work.

“You know something? There are sandstorms that strip man and horse and bury them — I've seen them. I saw bones piled higher than my head for the folly of a bad king and those who wanted his throne. (apparently) unpopular opinion: Alanna of Pirate’s Swoop and Olau 100% is a WOMAN and not genderfluid because she was written to show WOMEN CAN DO ALL THE THINGS MEN CAN DO and making her genderfluid takes away this entire message to the young girls who needed her in the past because there weren’t any role models like her for young girls when Song of the Lioness was originally written, and that was the ENTIRE POINT SHE WAS WRITEN FOR

Headcanon that while Kel has been known to utter the occasional curse in dire straits, Alanna has done and will continue to call nobles, visiting diplomats and the king himself a cunt when she feels the need
