The text of the letter and names of the celebrities that signed it under the cut.
"October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden,
We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.
But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death. They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.
We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.
Sincerely,

Icarus Falls is the second solo studio album. It was released on 14 December 2018, as a double album by RCA Records. Originally planned for 2017, the album was delayed so that ZAYN could focus on the aesthetic and sound the album would adopt, marking a shift from the visual identity used on his debut studio album, Mind of Mine (2016). Icarus Falls is a concept album influenced by Greek Mythology and Icarus, addressing themes such as self-love, finding yourself again as a person, and hope.
Influenced by the double album structure, ZAYN incorporated several sonic elements in addition to R&B, such as pop, funk rock, trap and electropop. He recruited Alan Sampson, MakeYouKnowLove and Malay, who had already worked with Zayn on his previous album, adding Brian Lee, Dan Grech, Timbaland and the duo Saltwives to the production team.
Six international singles —"Let Me", "Entertainer, "Sour Diesel", "Too Much" featuring Timbaland, "Fingers", and "No Candle No Light" featuring Nicki Minaj—supported the album; the first peaked at seventy-three on the Billboard Hot 100. "Rainberry" and "Good Years" preceded the album as promotional tracks.
Icarus Falls is a concept album inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus. He recalls the story of Icarus, who was told by his father to not fly too high but not too low with his pair of wings, rather to follow his path of flight. Overcome with thrill because he could now fly, Icarus flew too close to the sun, where the beeswax binding his wings together melted, thus destroying his set of wings. ZAYN compares the legend to the ups and downs of his relationship.

Top 5 Sci-Fi Movies on Netflix
5. Predestination (2014)

Director: Michael Spierig, Peter Spierig, The Spierig Brothers
Rating: R
One of the most original time-travel thrillers since 12 Monkeys. A brilliant subversion of the Time Paradox trope, with enough plot twists to keep you entertained until well after the movie is finished. Predestination is an amazing movie with great performances from Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook. It’s a movie that will feel like Inception, when it comes to messing with your mind and barely anyone has heard of it. It is highly underrated and unknown, sadly.
4. Train to Busan (2016)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thriller
Actor: Ahn So-hee, An So-hee, Baek Seung-hwan, Cha Chung-hwa, Chang-hwan Kim, Choi Gwi-hwa, Choi Woo-shik, Choi Woo-sung, Dong-seok Ma, Eui-sung Kim, Gong Yoo, Han Ji-eun, Han Sung-soo, Jang Hyuk-jin, Jeong Seok-yong, Jung Seok-yong, Jung Young-ki, Jung Yu-mi, Kim Chang-hwan, Kim Eui-sung, Kim Jae-rok, Kim Joo-heon, Kim Ju-hun, Kim Keum-soon, Kim Soo-ahn, Kim Soo-an, Kim Su-an, Kim Won-Jin, Lee Joo-sil, Lee Joong-ok, Ma Dong-seok, Park Myung-shin, Sang-ho Yeon, Seok-yong Jeong, Shim Eun-kyung, Sohee, Soo-an Kim, Soo-jung Ye, Terri Doty, Woo Do-im, Woo-sik Choi, Ye Soo-jung, Yeon Sang-ho, Yoo Gong, Yu-mi Jeong, Yu-mi Jung

A zombie virus breaks out and catches up with a father as he is taking his daughter from Seoul to Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city. Watch them trying to survive to reach their destination, a purported safe zone.
The acting is spot-on; the set pieces are particularly well choreographed. You’ll care about the characters. You’ll feel for the father as he struggles to keep his humanity in the bleakest of scenarios.
It’s a refreshingly thrilling disaster movie, a perfect specimen of the genre.
3. Serenity (2005)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, Thriller
Actor: Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Carrie ‘CeCe’ Cline, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Colin Patrick Lynch, David Krumholtz, Demetra Raven, Dennis Keiffer, Elaine Mani Lee, Erik Weiner, Gina Torres, Glenn Howerton, Hunter Ansley Wryn, Jessica Huang, Jewel Staite, Linda Wang, Logan O’Brien, Marcus Young, Mark Winn, Marley McClean, Matt McColm, Michael Hitchcock, Morena Baccarin, Nathan Fillion, Nectar Rose, Neil Patrick Harris, Peter James Smith, Rafael Feldman, Rick Williamson, Ron Glass, Ryan Tasz, Sarah Paulson, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Tamara Taylor, Terrell Tilford, Terrence Hardy Jr., Tristan Jarred, Weston Nathanson, Yan Feldman

Serenity is a futuristic sci-fi film that serves as a feature-length continuation of the story-line from the TV program Firefly (2002–2003). The story revolves around the captain (Nathan Fillion) and crew of the titular space vessel that operate as space outlaws, running cargo and smuggling missions throughout the galaxy. They take on a mysterious young psychic girl and her brother, the girl carrying secrets detrimental to the intergalactic government, and soon find themselves being hunted by a nefarious assassin (Chiwetel Ejiofor). The first feature-length film from Joss Whedon (The Avengers), Serenity is a lively and enjoyable adventure, replete with large-scale action sequences, strong characterizations and just the right touch of wry humor. An enjoyable viewing experience that stands alone without demanding that you have familiarity with the original program beforehand.
2. Sorry to Bother You (2018)
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Science Fiction
Actor: Armie Hammer, Danny Glover, David Cross, Ed Moy, Forest Whitaker, James D. Weston II, Jermaine Fowler, John Ozuna, Kate Berlant, Lakeith Stanfield, Lily James, Marcella Bragio, Michael X. Sommers, Molly Brady, Omari Hardwick, Patton Oswalt, Robert Longstreet, Rosario Dawson, Steven Yeun, Teresa Navarro, Terry Crews, Tessa Thompson, Tom Woodruff Jr., Tony Toste, W. Kamau Bell
Director: Boots Riley
In the year of the Netflix TV Show Maniac, another absurdist title stole critics’ hearts. Sorry to Bother You is a movie set in an alternate reality, where capitalism and greed are accentuated. Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta) is a guy called Cassius who struggles to pay his bills. However, when at a tele-marketing job an old-timer tells him to use a “white voice”, he starts moving up the ranks of his bizarre society. A really smart movie that will be mostly enjoyed by those who watch it for its entertaining value, and not so much for its commentary. It is like a Black Mirror episode stretched into a movie.
1. Ex Machina (2015)
Genre: Drama, Science Fiction
Actor: Alex Garland, Alicia Vikander, Chelsea Li, Claire Selby, Corey Johnson, Domhnall Gleeson, Elina Alminas, Gana Bayarsaikhan, Oscar Isaac, Sonoya Mizuno, Symara A. Templeman, Symara Templeman, Tiffany Pisani
Director: Alex Garland
Rating: R

Ex Machina is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, the writer of 28 Days Later (and 28 Weeks Later). It tells the story of Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson from About Time), an IT developer who is invited by a billionaire CEO to participate in a groundbreaking experiment — administering a Turing test to a humanoid robot called Ava (Alicia Vikander). Meeting the robot with feelings of superiority at first, questions of trust and ethics soon collide with the protagonist’s personal views. While this dazzling film does not rely on them, the visual effects and the overall look-feel of Ex Machina are absolutely stunning and were rightly picked for an Academy Award. They make Ex Machina feel just as casually futuristic as the equally stylish Her and, like Joaquin Phoenix, Gleeson aka Caleb must confront the feelings he develops towards a machine, despite his full awareness that ‘she’ is just that. This is possibly as close to Kubrick as anyone got in the 21st century. Ex Machina is clever, thrilling, and packed with engaging ideas.

Forgotten Lyrics
“Hate in your heart will consume you too”
It gets in your bones, turns everything to ash
Sometimes you can smell it
Burning up the air around you
taking all the breath you have
leaving nothing left of you
nothing you recognize or can comprehend
My core belief has always been
that the reason we’re here is
“To love one another, take care of each other”
I’m not feeling that, and it makes me falter
I have failed and so has she
On so many levels
She is unreachable, unapologetic…
I face the blame alone because she is unwilling to share it.
She wants everything easy and all the attention
But doesn’t want to do any of the learning, giving, growing…
The hard work of maintaining and working through.
Choices were made, some of them bad, all of them hard
I miss my daughter, but I don’t regret the choice to protect what she wouldn’t or couldn’t.
And here we are again, right back where we started…Almost.
With new players, and a remixed lyric with no honor or respect for the layers of history or the concept of truth
Repeating the same mistake and inventing new ones.
I have hit the wall of endurance. I’m done doing backflips and parkours.
“I’m letting go…cause I can’t do this on my own…
Jesus, take the wheel”
You have chosen to build a wall between us
And now you’re putting one between them
This wall cannot stand.
Eventually two men will emerge
And build a bridge
And a river of truth will flow
What will you do then?
“Where are you now…can you hear me?”
~ K. Dylan Spencer

what’s so funny to me is that almost all of the things conservative “men’s men” chase are inherently rooted in homosexuality.
STEM? Yeah so the guy who invented the computers is Gay. the dude who discovered Calculus was probably gay or asexual. All of backbones of mathematics from ancient greece were discovered and named for gay/bisexual dudes. Doctors owe a lot to famous twinks Da Vinci and Hart and to a lesser extent the queer Florence Nightengale and Sara Baker.
Thinkers? Cos you know straight men are so smart or whatever? Please. I hate to bring up the Greek guys again but cmon Aristotle, Plato, Sophocles? Voltaire King of the Enlightenment (allegedly) swung with his bros predominantly. Modern Western Philosophy can be attributed to the bisexual Ludwig Wittgenstein.
“Masculine Dress” Historically is dressing like a dude that these guys would call a slur.
The Glory of War? Englands most famous Crusading kings (Richard Lionheart for example) were gay. Alexander the great, Julius Caesar and other classical generals/kings were gay/bisexual. Frederick the Great one of the most celebrated war figures in western history? gay as hell. If we assume these Dudes aren’t racist it opens up so many more like the Emperors of China particularly during the Han Dynasty, aka one of China’s greatest dynastical periods and a time of its empire growing, who were so gay that this period of chinese history is synonymous in some circles as being the great gay period of china. Sparta, which these guys love to flaunt, was famous for their female army division which frequently had all female orgies.
Their obsession with World War II? don’t even get me started. Alan Turing won that war and then was convicted of homosexuality. Margaret Chung who took care, healed, and rehabilitated over 2,000 US soldiers becoming one of the most influential members in the US Army was a well known lesbian. Nadine Hwang was a queer spy for the French. Hans Scholl who was a founding member of the white rose resistance in Nazi Germany was gay as well.
Influence over arts and culture? Again Mostly queer driven. Sappho of Lesbos pretty much invented musical theater. Michelangelo and other Renaissance artists were insanely gay so much so that being from italy was synonymous with liking dick. Turn of the century artists like JC Leyendecker or Louise Breslau helped contribute to the rise of consumerism and modernism. Being a theater kid is equivalent with being “gay” now but they seem to forget that theater was literally the original form of media through traveling bards, amphitheaters, storytellers etc making it older than books and definitely movies. Speaking of which a lot of celebrated authors were also famously gay! Like Shakespeare, Virginia Woolf, J. M. Barry, Hans Christian Anderson, etc. Actors and Musicians? Forget it that’s mostly gay are you kidding me? If you want go look up Actors who died of aids, there’s a lot of them. If you think we are in a “gay pop golden age” you clearly haven’t been listening for the past ~3000 years.
Freedom Fighters. They are obsessed with free speech aren’t they? Well let’s look at some queer activists/revolutionaries who actually walked the walk when it comes to freedoms that these dickheads probably enjoy! : Alexander Hamilton baby. Deborah Sampson, Jane Addams, Thomas Hall, John Laurens, Angelina Grimké, Maximilien Robespierre, Camille Desmoulins, Louis Antoine Saint-Just, Christopher Isherwood, Ludwig Wittgenstein. you can go ahead and thank them for your right to vote btw.
THIS IS ALL JUST WESTERN CULTURE. go ahead and triple this for all the innovated and influential queer people that went unmentioned and importantly in other cultures who made huge advancements as well (tho for the purpose of this post i’m focused on presumably racist people who believe that western glory is the peak of heterosexual masculinity)
so yeah to these illiterate idiots you’re welcome because yall couldn’t survive with even half the things that queer people have contributed to this world. (And for icing on top that documentary was a about a gay man, the language english in the tweet was half made up by a bisexual and he is typing it out on a device that originated from a gay man’s mind) 😘
Tell me you know nothing about history without telling me you know nothing about history
#history nerd#history#classical literature#alexander the great#gay#queer history#please read this i’m a history major and i’m trying my best

Eugene Sampson Pitt (November 6, 1937 – June 29, 2018) was a musician and the founding member of The Jive Five. He formed a group with some school friends in 1954 called the Genies, in which he was the lead singer. There were no recordings from this group.
In 1959 he, together with Jerome Hanna, Richard Harris, Norman Johnson, and Billy Prophet formed The Jive Five. Among their classic doo-wop recordings, released on Beltone Records, were “My True Story”, “Never, Never”, and “What Time Is It?”. In 1985, they sang doo-wop on the children’s cable television network Nickelodeon. He and The Jive Five were introduced to New York-based MTV Networks branding consultants Fred Seibert and Alan Goodman by his latest producer, Ambient Sound’s Marty Pekar. Together, they embarked on an almost 10-year relationship, creating and singing a cappella signature sound of the children’s television network Nickelodeon. Terry Stewart, President & CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, called Pitt “the most underrated soul singer in America”. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
