The text of the letter and names of the celebrities that signed it under the cut.
"October 23, 2023
Dear President Biden,
We are heartened by Friday’s release of the two American hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie Ranaan and by today’s release of two Israelis, Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz, whose husbands remain in captivity.
But our relief is tempered by our overwhelming concern that 220 innocent people, including 30 children, remain captive by terrorists, threatened with torture and death. They were taken by Hamas in the savage massacre of October 7, where over 1,400 Israelis were slaughtered - women raped, families burned alive, and infants beheaded.
Thank you for your unshakable moral conviction, leadership, and support for the Jewish people, who have been terrorized by Hamas since the group’s founding over 35 years ago, and for the Palestinians, who have also been terrorized, oppressed, and victimized by Hamas for the last 17 years that the group has been governing Gaza.
We all want the same thing: Freedom for Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace. Freedom from the brutal violence spread by Hamas. And most urgently, in this moment, freedom for the hostages.
We urge everyone to not rest until all hostages are released. No hostage can be left behind. Whether American, Argentinian, Australian, Azerbaijani, Brazilian, British, Canadian, Chilean, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Eritrean, Filipino, French, German, Indian, Israeli, Italian, Kazakh, Mexican, Panamanian, Paraguayan, Peruvian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, South African, Spanish, Sri Lankan, Thai, Ukrainian, Uzbekistani or otherwise, we need to bring them home.

One of the most original time-travel thrillers since 12 Monkeys. A brilliant subversion of the Time Paradox trope, with enough plot twists to keep you entertained until well after the movie is finished. Predestination is an amazing movie with great performances from Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook. It’s a movie that will feel like Inception, when it comes to messing with your mind and barely anyone has heard of it. It is highly underrated and unknown, sadly.
4. Train to Busan (2016)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thriller
Actor: Ahn So-hee, An So-hee, Baek Seung-hwan, Cha Chung-hwa, Chang-hwan Kim, Choi Gwi-hwa, Choi Woo-shik, Choi Woo-sung, Dong-seok Ma, Eui-sung Kim, Gong Yoo, Han Ji-eun, Han Sung-soo, Jang Hyuk-jin, Jeong Seok-yong, Jung Seok-yong, Jung Young-ki, Jung Yu-mi, Kim Chang-hwan, Kim Eui-sung, Kim Jae-rok, Kim Joo-heon, Kim Ju-hun, Kim Keum-soon, Kim Soo-ahn, Kim Soo-an, Kim Su-an, Kim Won-Jin, Lee Joo-sil, Lee Joong-ok, Ma Dong-seok, Park Myung-shin, Sang-ho Yeon, Seok-yong Jeong, Shim Eun-kyung, Sohee, Soo-an Kim, Soo-jung Ye, Terri Doty, Woo Do-im, Woo-sik Choi, Ye Soo-jung, Yeon Sang-ho, Yoo Gong, Yu-mi Jeong, Yu-mi Jung

A zombie virus breaks out and catches up with a father as he is taking his daughter from Seoul to Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city. Watch them trying to survive to reach their destination, a purported safe zone.
The acting is spot-on; the set pieces are particularly well choreographed. You’ll care about the characters. You’ll feel for the father as he struggles to keep his humanity in the bleakest of scenarios.
It’s a refreshingly thrilling disaster movie, a perfect specimen of the genre.
3. Serenity (2005)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, Thriller
Actor: Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Carrie ‘CeCe’ Cline, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Colin Patrick Lynch, David Krumholtz, Demetra Raven, Dennis Keiffer, Elaine Mani Lee, Erik Weiner, Gina Torres, Glenn Howerton, Hunter Ansley Wryn, Jessica Huang, Jewel Staite, Linda Wang, Logan O’Brien, Marcus Young, Mark Winn, Marley McClean, Matt McColm, Michael Hitchcock, Morena Baccarin, Nathan Fillion, Nectar Rose, Neil Patrick Harris, Peter James Smith, Rafael Feldman, Rick Williamson, Ron Glass, Ryan Tasz, Sarah Paulson, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Tamara Taylor, Terrell Tilford, Terrence Hardy Jr., Tristan Jarred, Weston Nathanson, Yan Feldman

Serenity is a futuristic sci-fi film that serves as a feature-length continuation of the story-line from the TV program Firefly (2002–2003). The story revolves around the captain (Nathan Fillion) and crew of the titular space vessel that operate as space outlaws, running cargo and smuggling missions throughout the galaxy. They take on a mysterious young psychic girl and her brother, the girl carrying secrets detrimental to the intergalactic government, and soon find themselves being hunted by a nefarious assassin (Chiwetel Ejiofor). The first feature-length film from Joss Whedon (The Avengers), Serenity is a lively and enjoyable adventure, replete with large-scale action sequences, strong characterizations and just the right touch of wry humor. An enjoyable viewing experience that stands alone without demanding that you have familiarity with the original program beforehand.
2. Sorry to Bother You (2018)
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Science Fiction
Actor: Armie Hammer, Danny Glover, David Cross, Ed Moy, Forest Whitaker, James D. Weston II, Jermaine Fowler, John Ozuna, Kate Berlant, Lakeith Stanfield, Lily James, Marcella Bragio, Michael X. Sommers, Molly Brady, Omari Hardwick, Patton Oswalt, Robert Longstreet, Rosario Dawson, Steven Yeun, Teresa Navarro, Terry Crews, Tessa Thompson, Tom Woodruff Jr., Tony Toste, W. Kamau Bell
Director: Boots Riley
Tumblr media
In the year of the Netflix TV Show Maniac, another absurdist title stole critics’ hearts. Sorry to Bother You is a movie set in an alternate reality, where capitalism and greed are accentuated. Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta) is a guy called Cassius who struggles to pay his bills. However, when at a tele-marketing job an old-timer tells him to use a “white voice”, he starts moving up the ranks of his bizarre society. A really smart movie that will be mostly enjoyed by those who watch it for its entertaining value, and not so much for its commentary. It is like a Black Mirror episode stretched into a movie.
1. Ex Machina (2015)
Genre: Drama, Science Fiction
Actor: Alex Garland, Alicia Vikander, Chelsea Li, Claire Selby, Corey Johnson, Domhnall Gleeson, Elina Alminas, Gana Bayarsaikhan, Oscar Isaac, Sonoya Mizuno, Symara A. Templeman, Symara Templeman, Tiffany Pisani
Director: Alex Garland
Rating: R

Ex Machina is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, the writer of 28 Days Later (and 28 Weeks Later). It tells the story of Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson from About Time), an IT developer who is invited by a billionaire CEO to participate in a groundbreaking experiment — administering a Turing test to a humanoid robot called Ava (Alicia Vikander). Meeting the robot with feelings of superiority at first, questions of trust and ethics soon collide with the protagonist’s personal views. While this dazzling film does not rely on them, the visual effects and the overall look-feel of Ex Machina are absolutely stunning and were rightly picked for an Academy Award. They make Ex Machina feel just as casually futuristic as the equally stylish Her and, like Joaquin Phoenix, Gleeson aka Caleb must confront the feelings he develops towards a machine, despite his full awareness that ‘she’ is just that. This is possibly as close to Kubrick as anyone got in the 21st century. Ex Machina is clever, thrilling, and packed with engaging ideas.

Icarus Falls is the second solo studio album. It was released on 14 December 2018, as a double album by RCA Records. Originally planned for 2017, the album was delayed so that ZAYN could focus on the aesthetic and sound the album would adopt, marking a shift from the visual identity used on his debut studio album, Mind of Mine (2016). Icarus Falls is a concept album influenced by Greek Mythology and Icarus, addressing themes such as self-love, finding yourself again as a person, and hope.
Tumblr media
Influenced by the double album structure, ZAYN incorporated several sonic elements in addition to R&B, such as pop, funk rock, trap and electropop. He recruited Alan Sampson, MakeYouKnowLove and Malay, who had already worked with Zayn on his previous album, adding Brian Lee, Dan Grech, Timbaland and the duo Saltwives to the production team.
Six international singles —"Let Me", "Entertainer, "Sour Diesel", "Too Much" featuring Timbaland, "Fingers", and "No Candle No Light" featuring Nicki Minaj—supported the album; the first peaked at seventy-three on the Billboard Hot 100. "Rainberry" and "Good Years" preceded the album as promotional tracks.
Icarus Falls is a concept album inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus. He recalls the story of Icarus, who was told by his father to not fly too high but not too low with his pair of wings, rather to follow his path of flight. Overcome with thrill because he could now fly, Icarus flew too close to the sun, where the beeswax binding his wings together melted, thus destroying his set of wings. ZAYN compares the legend to the ups and downs of his relationship.

what’s so funny to me is that almost all of the things conservative “men’s men” chase are inherently rooted in homosexuality.
STEM? Yeah so the guy who invented the computers is Gay. the dude who discovered Calculus was probably gay or asexual. All of backbones of mathematics from ancient greece were discovered and named for gay/bisexual dudes. Doctors owe a lot to famous twinks Da Vinci and Hart and to a lesser extent the queer Florence Nightengale and Sara Baker.
Thinkers? Cos you know straight men are so smart or whatever? Please. I hate to bring up the Greek guys again but cmon Aristotle, Plato, Sophocles? Voltaire King of the Enlightenment (allegedly)? all swung with their bros. Modern Western Philosophy can be attributed to the bisexual Ludwig Wittgenstein.
“Masculine Dress” Historically is dressing like a dude that these type of twitter guys would call a slur.
The Glory of War? Englands most famous Crusading kings (Richard Lionheart for example) were gay. Alexander the great, Julius Caesar and other classical generals/kings were gay/bisexual. Frederick the Great one of the most celebrated war figures in western history? gay as hell. If we assume these Dudes aren’t racist it opens up so many more like the Emperors of China particularly during the Han Dynasty, aka one of China’s greatest dynastical periods and a time of its empire growing, who were so gay that this period of chinese history is synonymous in some circles as being the great bisexual period of china. Sparta, which these guys love to flaunt, was famous for their female army division which frequently had female orgies (and ofc because it's greek the guys were doing it too!)
Their obsession with World War II? don’t even get me started. Alan Turing won that war and then was convicted of homosexuality. Margaret Chung who took care, healed, and rehabilitated over 2,000 US soldiers becoming one of the most influential members in the US Army was a well known lesbian. Nadine Hwang was a queer spy for the French. Hans Scholl who was a founding member of the white rose resistance in Nazi Germany was gay as well.
Influence over arts and culture? Again Mostly queer driven. Sappho of Lesbos pretty much invented musical theater. Michelangelo and other Renaissance artists were insanely gay so much so that being from italy was synonymous with liking dick. Turn of the century artists like JC Leyendecker or Louise Breslau helped contribute to the rise of consumerism and modernism. Being a theater kid is equivalent with being “gay” now but they seem to forget that theater was literally the original form of media through traveling bards, amphitheaters, storytellers etc making it older than books and definitely movies. Speaking of which a lot of celebrated authors were also famously gay! Like Shakespeare, Virginia Woolf, J. M. Barry, Hans Christian Anderson, etc. Actors and Musicians? Forget it that’s mostly gay are you kidding me? If you want go look up Actors who died of aids, there’s a lot of them. If you think we are in a “gay pop golden age” you clearly haven’t been listening for the past ~3000 years.
Freedom Fighters. They are obsessed with free speech aren’t they? Well let’s look at some queer activists/revolutionaries who actually walked the walk when it comes to freedoms that these dickheads probably enjoy! : Alexander Hamilton baby. Deborah Sampson, Jane Addams, Thomas Hall, John Laurens, Angelina Grimké, Maximilien Robespierre, Camille Desmoulins, Louis Antoine Saint-Just, Christopher Isherwood, Ludwig Wittgenstein. you can go ahead and thank them for your right to vote btw.
THIS IS ALL JUST WESTERN CULTURE. go ahead and triple this for all the innovated and influential queer people that went unmentioned and importantly in other cultures who made huge advancements as well (tho for the purpose of this post i’m focused on refuting the presumably racist people who believe that western glory is the peak of heterosexual masculinity)
so yeah to these illiterate idiots you’re welcome because yall couldn’t survive with even half the things that queer people have contributed to this world. (And for icing on top that documentary was a about a gay man, the language english in the tweet was half made up by a bisexual and he is typing it out on a device that originated from a gay man’s mind) 😘
Tell me you know nothing about history without telling me you know nothing about history

Keanu Reeves x Reader
Romeo and Juliet
Quick A/N: I will be putting the format as if you were reading the actual play and instead of the actual characters names it will be the actors and if you didn't read the character guide the ones who aren't casted will be the normal names
Act 1, Scene 1
[Enter Sampson and Gregory, with swords and bucklers, from the house of Capulet]
Sampson: Gregory, on my word we'll not carry coals.
Gregory: No, for then we should be colliers.
Sampson: I mean, an we be in choler, we’ll draw.
Gregory: Ay, while you live, draw your neck out of
collar.
Sampson: I strike quickly, being moved.
Gregory: But thou art not quickly moved to strike.
Sampson: A dog of the house of Montague moves me.
Gregory: To move is to stir, and to be valiant is to stand. Therefore if thou art moved thou runn’st ’Tis all one. I will show myself a tyrant.
away.
Sampson: A dog of that house shall move me to stand. I will take the wall of any man or maid of Montague’s.
Gregory: That shows thee a weak slave, for the weakest goes to the wall.
Sampson: ’Tis true, and therefore women, being the
weaker vessels, are ever thrust to the wall. Therefore
I will push Montague’s men from the wall and
thrust his maids to the wall.
Gregory: The quarrel is between our masters and us
their men.
Sampson: When I have fought with the men, I will be civil with the maids; I will cut off their heads.
Gregory: The heads of the maids?
Sampson: Ay, the heads of the maids, or their maidenheads.
Take it in what sense thou wilt.
Gregory: They must take it in sense that feel it.
Sampson: Me they shall feel while I am able to stand,
and ’tis known I am a pretty piece of flesh.
Gregory: ’Tis well thou art not fish; if thou hadst, thou
hadst been poor-john. Draw thy tool. Here comes
of the house of Montagues.
[Enter Abram with another Servingman.]
Sampson: My naked weapon is out. Quarrel, I will back
thee.
Gregory: How? Turn thy back and run?
Sampson: Fear me not.
Gregory: No, marry. I fear thee!
Sampson: Let us take the law of our sides; let them
begin.
Gregory: I will frown as I pass by, and let them take it
as they list.
Sampson: Nay, as they dare. I will bite my thumb at
them, which is disgrace to them if they bear it.
[He bites his thumb.]
Abram: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
Sampson: I do bite my thumb, sir.
Abram: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
SAMPSON, [aside to Gregory]: Is the law of our side if I
say “Ay”?
GREGORY, [aside to Sampson]: No.
Sampson: No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir,
but I bite my thumb, sir.
Gregory: Do you quarrel, sir?
Abram: Quarrel, sir? No, sir.
Sampson: But if you do, sir, I am for you. I serve as
good a man as you.
Abram: No better.
Sampson: Well, sir.
[Enter Alex.]
Gregory, [aside to Sampson]: Say “better”; here comes
one of my master’s kinsmen.
Sampson: Yes, better, sir.
Abram: You lie.
Sampson: Draw if you be men.—Gregory, remember
thy washing blow. [They fight.]
Alex: Part, fools! [Drawing his sword.] Put up your swords. You know not what you do.
[Enter Kiefer, drawing his sword.]
Kiefer: What, art thou drawn among these heartless hinds? Turn thee, Alex; look upon thy death.
Alex: I do but keep the peace. Put up thy sword, Or manage it to part these men with me.
Kiefer: What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Have at thee, coward! [They fight.]
[Enter three or four Citizens with clubs or partisans.]
Citizens: Clubs, bills, and partisans! Strike! Beat them down! Down with the Capulets! Down with the Montagues!
[Enter Old Edward Capulet in his gown, and his Wife.]
Edward: What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho!
Dianne: A crutch, a crutch! Why call you for a sword?
[Enter old Alan Montague and his Wife.]
Edward: My sword, I say. Old Montague is come and flourishes his blade in spite of me.
Alan: Thou villain Capulet!—Hold me not; let me go.
Meryl: Thou shalt not stir one foot to seek a foe.
[Enter Prince Mark with his train.]
Mark: Rebellious subjects, enemies to peace, Profaners of this neighbor-stainèd steel—Will they not hear?—What ho! You men, you beasts, That quench the fire of your pernicious rage with purple fountains issuing from your veins: On pain of torture, from those bloody hands throw your mistempered weapons to the ground, and hear the sentence of your movèd prince. Three civil brawls bred of an airy word by thee, old Capulet, and Montague, have thrice disturbed the quiet of our streets and made Verona’s ancient citizens cast by their grave-beseeming ornaments to wield old partisans in hands as old, ankered with peace, to part your cankered hate. If ever you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace. For this time all the rest depart away. You, Capulet, shall go along with me, And, Montague, come you this afternoon to know our farther pleasure in this case, to old Free-town, our common judgment-place. Once more, on pain of death, all men depart.
[All but Alan, Meryl, and Alex exit.]
Alan [to Alex]:Who set this ancient quarrel new abroach? Speak, nephew, were you by when it began?
Alex: Here were the servants of your adversary,And yours, close fighting ere I did approach.I drew to part them. In the instant came the fiery Kiefer with his sword prepared, which, as he breathed defiance to my ears, he swung about his head and cut the winds, who, nothing hurt withal, hissed him in scorn. While we were interchanging thrusts and blow came more and more and fought on part and part, till the Prince came, who parted either part.
Meryl: O, where is Keanu? Saw you him today? Right glad I am he was not at this fray.
Alex: Madam, an hour before the worshiped sun peered forth the golden window of the east, a troubled mind drove me to walk abroad, where underneath the grove of sycamore that westward rooteth from this city side, so early walking did I see your son. Towards him I made, but he was ’ware of me and stole into the covert of the wood. I, measuring his affections by my own (Which then most sought where most might not be found, Being one too many by my weary self), pursued my humor, not pursuing his, and gladly shunned who gladly fled from me.
Alan: Many a morning hath he there been seen, with tears augmenting the fresh morning’s dew, adding to clouds more clouds with his deep sighs. But all so soon as the all-cheering sun should in the farthest east begin to draw the shady curtains from Aurora’s bed, away from light steals home my heavy son and private in his chamber pens himself, shuts up his windows, locks fair daylight out, and makes himself an artificial night. Black and portentous must this humor prove, unless good counsel may the cause remove.
Alex: My noble uncle, do you know the cause?
Alan: I neither know it nor can learn of him.
Alex: Have you importuned him by any means?
Alan: Both by myself and many other friends. But he, his own affections’ counselor, is to himself—I will not say how true, but to himself so secret and so close, so far from sounding and discovery, as is the bud bit with an envious worm ere he can spread his sweet leaves to the air or dedicate his beauty to the same. Could we but learn from whence his sorrows grow, we would as willingly give cure as know.
[Enter Keanu.]
Alex: See where he comes. So please you, step aside. I’ll know his grievance or be much denied
Alan: I would thou wert so happy by thy stay
To hear true shrift.—Come, madam, let’s away.
[Alan and Meryl exit.]
Alex: Good morrow, cousin.
Keanu: Is the day so young?
Alex: But new struck nine.
Keanu: Ay me, sad hours seem long. Was that my father that went hence so fast?
Alex: It was. What sadness lengthens Romeo’s hours?
Keanu: Not having that which, having, makes them short.
Alex: In love?
Keanu: Out—
Alex: Of love?
Keanu Out of her favor where I am in love.
Alex: Alas that love, so gentle in his view, should be so tyrannous and rough in proof!
Keanu: Alas that love, whose view is muffled still, should without eyes see pathways to his will! Where shall we dine?—O me! What fray was here? Yet tell me not, for I have heard it all. Here’s much to do with hate, but more with love. Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate, o anything of nothing first create! O heavy lightness, serious vanity, misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms, feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, still-waking sleep that is not what it is!This love feel I, that feel no love in this. Dost thou not laugh?
Alex: No, coz, I rather weep.
Keanu: Good heart, at what?
Alex: At thy good heart’s oppression.
Keanu: Why, such is love’s transgression. Griefs of mine own lie heavy in my breast, which thou wilt propagate to have it pressed with more of thine. This love that thou hast shown doth add more grief to too much of mine own. Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes; Being vexed, a sea nourished with loving tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, a choking gall, and a preserving sweet. Farewell, my coz.
Alex: Soft, I will go along. An if you leave me so, you do me wrong.
Keanu: Tut, I have lost myself. I am not here. This is not Keanu. He’s some other where.
Alex: Tell me in sadness, who is that you love?
Keanu: What, shall I groan and tell thee?
Alex: Groan? Why, no. But sadly tell me who.
Keanu: A sick man in sadness makes his will— A word ill urged to one that is so ill. In sadness, cousin, I do love a woman.
Alex: I aimed so near when I supposed you loved.
Keanu: A right good markman! And she’s fair I love.
Alex: A right fair mark, fair coz, is soonest hit.
Keanu: Well in that hit you miss. She’ll not be hit with Cupid’s arrow. She hath Dian’s wit, and, in strong proof of chastity well armed, from love’s weak childish bow she lives uncharmed. She will not stay the siege of loving terms, nor bide th’ encounter of assailing eyes, nor ope her lap to saint-seducing gold. O, she is rich in beauty, only poor that, when she dies, with beauty dies her store.
Alex: Then she hath sworn that she will still live chaste?
Keanu: She hath, and in that sparing makes huge waste; For beauty, starved with her severity, cuts beauty off from all posterity. She is too fair, too wise, wisely too fair, to merit bliss by making me despair. She hath forsworn to love, and in that vow do I live dead, that live to tell it now.
Alex: Be ruled by me. Forget to think of her.
Keanu: O, teach me how I should forget to think!
Alex: By giving liberty unto thine eyes.Examine other beauties.
Keanu: ’Tis the way to call hers, exquisite, in question more. These happy masks that kiss fair ladies’ brows, being black, puts us in mind they hide the fair. He that is strucken blind cannot forget the precious treasure of his eyesight lost. Show me a mistress that is passing fair; What doth her beauty serve but as a note where I may read who passed that passing fair? Farewell. Thou canst not teach me to forget.
Alex: I’ll pay that doctrine or else die in debt.
[They exit.]

Eugene Sampson Pitt (November 6, 1937 – June 29, 2018) was a musician and the founding member of The Jive Five. He formed a group with some school friends in 1954 called the Genies, in which he was the lead singer. There were no recordings from this group.
In 1959 he, together with Jerome Hanna, Richard Harris, Norman Johnson, and Billy Prophet formed The Jive Five. Among their classic doo-wop recordings, released on Beltone Records, were “My True Story”, “Never, Never”, and “What Time Is It?”. In 1985, they sang doo-wop on the children’s cable television network Nickelodeon. He and The Jive Five were introduced to New York-based MTV Networks branding consultants Fred Seibert and Alan Goodman by his latest producer, Ambient Sound’s Marty Pekar. Together, they embarked on an almost 10-year relationship, creating and singing a cappella signature sound of the children’s television network Nickelodeon. Terry Stewart, President & CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, called Pitt “the most underrated soul singer in America”. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence
