Tidewater Park is located in the Tidewater residential community. The homes there are older but fairly nice. The park seems to be very small but it connects to the entrance of the Union City trail. The boundaries are a bit unclear but the park seems to consist of a gazebo, walking path, weeds, a playground, and a wooden bridge that crosses the Alameda Creek. There are some flowers and trees but no one has trimmed the weeds recently. The weeds are overgrown. I also kept seeing swarms of tiny flies.

The park is so small that it’s only worthy of two stars. However, you can extend your walk by crossing over the bridge. There are some interesting birds that live in the creek area.

The park is flat and so is the paved path near the creek. I crossed over the train tracks to continue my walk along the creek and when I exited, the sign said no trespassing. I didn’t even realize I had trespassed. I spotted homeless encampments along the train tracks. The creek area has weeds that are taller than I am.

Silly little idea, reader who has a southern accent that isn’t super prominent, too the point that people can hardly tell that they have one, but does become more pronounced on occasions; like for example certain words, when startled or upset/ angry, or talking to certain people. And the villain’s reactions to it when they are inevitably jumpscared by the sudden accent when they hear it for the first time.

It wasn’t until the Villains got to know (Y/N) better, that they noticed just the slightest twinge in their voice

Or the times when (Y/N) used unusual phrases

(Y/N): Hey, do you know where tha’ closest bubbler is?

Clayton:….the what?

(Y/N): Y’know, the water fountain?

(Y/N):Guys look! The lightnin’ bugs are out tonight!!

*Hook, following (Y/N)’s gaze out the windows*: You mean fireflies?

(Y/N): Yeah, lightin’ bugs!

At first most of them thought (Y/N) was a little dumb, or maybe a speech impediment

But the American Villains like Alameda or Facilier, who both have different American accents recognized (Y/N)’s voice right away.

One day, a few villains were witness to (Y/N)’s full accent when a ….small… disagreement broke out between (Y/N) and a less than polite park guest.

(Y/N)’s accent went from barely to heavily noticeable, their voice thick and sharp

Jafar, who was one of the villains watching the argument, had to have Facilier translate what they were saying

Facilier was trying to hold his laughter in, (Y/N)’s accent so thick it reminded him of a cartoon

After the argument, word of (Y/N)’s accent spread around the Villains, everyone now understanding why (Y/N) talks like that.

Now a lot of times, Villains would go up to (Y/N) and ask them to say a word or phrase just to hear their accent

*Gaston, giggling to himself*: Hey (Y/N)— (Y/N), say: “water bottle”

(Y/N):….water bottle?

*Gaston devolving into laughter as (Y/N) watches him in confusion*

Some Villains actually think (Y/N)’s accent is pleasant to listen to, attractive even

I can imagine whenever Hook gets anxious, (Y/N)’s voice calms him down. I could see him asking questions about (Y/N)’s interests just so he could hear them ramble on

Hades will always use (Y/N)’s accent as an excuse to flirt

Hades: God I love it when you speak like that to me~

(Y/N): this is just the way I talk?

Hades: Oh yeah, just like that~

Tomorrow X Together add new dates to 2024 ‘Act: Promise’ world tour

Featuring shows in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and more

K-pop boyband Tomorrow X Together (TXT) have announced their upcoming 2024 ‘Act: Promise’ world tour, which will kick off with concerts in Seoul this May.

Tomorrow X Together new world tour was first announced on March 11 by the boyband’s label, Big Hit Music, and will kick off with a three-date concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea from May 3 to 5.

The kick-off dates of the K-pop boyband’s 2024 tour will be made available for livestreaming, according to an announcement on TXT’s official Weverse page. Ticketing information for the shows has yet to be announced.

On March 19, the group revealed the dates for the US leg of their upcoming 2024 ‘Act: Promise’ world tour, which will start at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington on May 14. In the same month, TXT will play three shows in California, alongside stops in Texas and Georgia.

In June 2024, the K-pop boyband will play two shows at the iconic Maidson Square Garden in New York City, before heading to Rosemont and wrapping up the leg in Washington, D.C. Tickets to dates on the US leg of TXT’s 2024 ‘Act: Promise’ world tour are on sale now via Ticketmaster or AXS.

On April 8, TXT added eight more dates in Japan to the tour. The concerts will take place over three months from July to September, with two shows each in the cities of Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. Ticketing details for these dates have yet to be announced.

At long last...stable and affordable housing?

Well, halle-fuckin'-looyah, I guess.

Just went down to grab some LP mailers from the garage (somebody bought an Elvis 45 from '57, gotta cannibalize an LP mailer for shipping.) and stopped by the mail room on the way back up.

A really thin envelope addressed to me, from some place I didn't recognize, in Berkeley.

Evidently, I have been (finally!) placed on the "wait list" and I "will be contacted when your name comes up on the waiting list for an available apartment. It is our company policy not to disclose waiting list position numbers."

I had totally forgotten I'd put an application for a Senior apartment that would take a percentage of my SSI for rent. I remember thinking that it looked like a nice place...I went back and looked at the website and it sits right on a Berkeley public park, on....wait for it...A CREEK!

There's a garden, there's all manner of programs, of course, but the fact that it is in the absolute HEART of Berkeley, ON a creek...that is pretty much a best-case-scenario. AND they will allow pets!!!!!!

This is the absolute FIRST time that I've ever been given as much as a response beyond a "screw you we didn't pick you" email.

So...maybe some day soon I'll be living in the heart of Berkeley, on a creek, intead of Alameda in an apartment I hate and can't afford. That would be...different, for sure.

Ain't much to go on, for sure, but I've had NOTHING to go on for months and months now. It's at least SOMETHING.

I'll take it.

(Only thing I'm kinda wondering about is that the letter is dated the 10th of October and it just got here today, the 25th. It's literally just a few miles away...the mail ain't what it used to be.)

Eddie answers on the third ring. 

"Hey." His voice has a faint rasp to it, like maybe he was sleeping or close to it, even though it's not late. He sounds a little surprised, but not upset. He doesn't sound like Buck has recently smashed his heart into tiny little pieces. He sounds—he sounds like Eddie. "What's up? I thought you were watching Jee-Yun tonight."

"I was." Buck says, and his voice absolutely does not sound normal. Not even one little bit.

"Did something happen?" Eddie asks sharply, sounding much more awake. "Where are you?"

"Jee's—uh, she's fine, everyone's fine. I'm parked on Alameda."

"Do you need me to come get you?"

"What? No, Eddie, no, you don't…" Belatedly, he realizes how all this must sound from the other end of it. "I didn't get into a car accident, or anything like that."

"Okay," Eddie says, drawing it out patiently. "So what happened?"
