I like to tell myself that I'm above arguing about hair colour until someone brings up "strawberry blonde" acting like that's a real ass hair colour when 10 out of 10 times the person's hair is either blonde or ginger and absolutely nothing will ever make me change my mind on this

I just had another thought for a fanfic so this one is without a modern reader.

But the reader is a headstrong independent person who hates being near people and has an even greater hatred for nobles. So imagine their village gets raided or something that lands them to be a slave for the emperors and they decide ''You know what I'm gonna fight for my freedom like the gladiators, and I either die with honour or I win with even greater honour.'' (not knowing that the Emperors are not willing to let them go no matter what.)

So they confront the emperors about it and they agree with some conditions like they have to best Marcus Acacius and 2 guards at the same time if they are defeated (not killed) they have to become their personal plaything they will not be allowed to interact with anyone else but them, but if they somehow win ( they do this by killing the guards and knocking out or make Marcus Acacius give in) they can do whatever they please.

Be it to stay and be treated like a noble or leave never to be found they will be or marry whoever they want ( they hope it's them and if not they will be dealt with.)

As for their backstory, I'm not sure really. I think it would be like a village where the reader was though how to fight by someone maybe their father or they observed others training and practised in private.
