“i know this might be a crazy idea, but if the killer really did do this, then this might explain the inconsistencies! and if i'm right, then it would narrow our list of suspects down significantly–!”

for the last couple minutes, you've been pointing towards the pin board with all the evidence for your current case, while rambling on about your theories. yet when you turned around, date was just staring at you. he didn't look confused, nor amused. he just… stared.

“what is it…?” you asked, feeling a little uncertain now. “do you not like the theory? i know it might sound far fetched, but–”

“no, nothing wrong with the theory!” date assured you, finally speaking up. he looked at you with a soft smile, before shaking his head a little.

and that only confused you more.

“do i have something on my face then? you're being strange, date. in fact, even more strange than usual!”

date laughed softly, not taking your little insult to heart. instead, he grinned playfully and leaned forward, his eyes glued to your face, as he spoke.

“i just couldn't help but admire the view. you look damn cute when you ramble like that! all worked up about the case… it's pretty sexy!”

you roll your eyes in response, trying not to let date see your amused smile.

“i should've known that's what this is about…”

Day 8. Angel Kizuna x Reader

“You’re okay,” Kizuna murmurs as she holds you close, her wings wrapped around you to add comfort. Today has been a tough day and she knows you’ve been trying to stay strong, but not even the greatest angels can continually be strong without breaking.

And so she’s holding you close, whispering praise, comforting you as she wants you to know it’s okay. You don’t see her wings, probably don’t fully believe that someone is hugging you. But in this moment, she’ll allow herself to be materialized. She’ll let you hold her back for comfort.

Kizuna has been watching over you for so long. Even when her wings became injured with her body, making her unable to fly again, she still watched over to ensure you’re okay. And seeing that today you aren’t. Seeing those tears leave your eyes, she knows it would be selfish to just watch and wish for you to be okay.

She’ll face whatever punishment later. If there is a punishment, she’s good at talking her way out of things. But she doesn’t care about it as she’s focused on you and keeping you in her arms. You might forget about this later, think it was just your mind playing tricks on you, but for now, she just hopes her words stay in your mind as she holds you.

A soft smile crosses her face as you start to calm, Kizuna breathing a sigh of relief as she rubs your back gently, humming something that she’s heard you listen to in the past. Kizuna helps you lay down, knowing you need rest after today’s events. She wishes she could actually introduce yourself instead of having you in this dreamlike state, but she is toeing the line already.

“Rest well, I’ll watch over you and keep you safe,” she promises gently and waits for you to sleep, her hands moving your blanket to help tuck you in. Maybe one day she’ll fully let you see her, but for now, she’s happy to take care of you like this.

Hello! I was wondering if you could do something with Date since he's your pfp? I was thinking Fluff 14 from your prompt list but a nsfw version. And instead of the reader can you write it with Ryuki? If so thank you!

I was hoping someone would request something with Date! I love him so much. And I love the idea of writing something with Date and Ryuki since it's so obvious Ryuki is in love with him lol. If I remember correctly he even said this at one point in the game?

I like this idea a lot so I'm going to make it a full fic! If you all like it enough I'll write the rest of the parts (I know this is a more niche game so hopefully you'll all enjoy it).

Care - Mizuki & Date (AITSF) Coexisting for Traumatized Detectives - Yosano & Dazai (BSD) An Undefined Truth - Killua/Gon (HxH) Shaking - Kokichi/Kaito (DRV3) Love, Justice, and the In Between - Boss & Date (AITSF) ...Most of these I still love, but one of them is indicative of my dark, dark past. I'll only link the top kudos'd.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes!!! I try to every time!!! Because I like getting responses as a reader mostly, it's nice to know that I've made someone's day better and I like the community that comes with comments!!! Also it's nice to add numbers to that comment counter.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

kill switch, save switch (Zero Escape) - Everyone dies in the Submarine Ending!!!!! Honorable mentions to: Turning Back (A3!) - Chikage abandons a child (not of his own choice, but fully aware of how damaging it is) and then thinks that they're probably dead Playing the Part (AITSF) - Iris is dead, but nobody knows it. Blood Trails Leading Home (AITSF) - It's an Annihilation End fic, everyone is dying and the antagonist is planning to kill even more people.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I try to give most things a hopeful ending at LEAST fdkfkkgfdff it's impossible to choose. I'll go with Follow the Light to its End, a Killugon fic that ends with a kiss ^-^

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really? I did get a comment recently that said "once the confession is over, I don't feel the love anymore. Still nice fic," which......... thanks (sarcasm) Usually comments like that are people trying to be nice but ending up too blunt... so it's whatever.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nah. Nothing against it, just not my zone.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Sometimes!!! Never in the form of X meets Y though, always putting one character into another's universe. I don't write them often, I'd write them more often if there were more people who would read them and my niche ideas. I think the only one I can remember posting is paradoxical, an A3/ZE crossover which. is crazy. What if Azuma's brother Hajime was actually Hisoka's brother August, but in the same way Akane from Zero Escape is June--the way that June is a mask, a cover. What if they were in a nonary game. What if Azuma accessed the morphogenetic field. CRAZY.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

Nope! But I'm totally open to it!!!

Sort of!!! I did the Masukyu magic AU series with my friend Mikey :> Cowriting is really hard but it's fun.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

ALL TIME is hard. I'll give you a top 3: Killua/Gon (HxH), Hisoka/Homare (A3!), Junpei/Akane (ZE) Also honorable mention to Chikage/Citron/Itaru (A3!) for being the subject of my longest fic.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I'm constantly writing like 5 things at once, so it's a gamble with everything I write... I really doubt I'm going to finish the Pariging time loop WIP I have though orz I really love what I have so far of it, it's just... I don't know where it's going orz

16. What are your writing strengths?

Character emotions!!! Showing how characters respond to each other!!! Introspection!!! I like to think I'm pretty good at a lot of things.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I've been working on making sure that my characters don't talk in a void lately T-T I'm not BAD at description, but it so often falls to the wayside... Also comedy is hard for me.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I mean... it can work, I suppose? I wouldn't do it myself, because I'm not confident in any language other than english (I'm sorry high school german teacher...! I fell off because of covid...! I'm unlikely to use more than a couple german words for Klavier's faux-german thing, if I ever write a fic about him, lol) When other people do it, it's fine, except if I notice them using it wrong I think it's silly.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Since I have so many it's kind of impossible to choose... But I'll say my long fics, especially the 40k multichapters. I put so much work into every long fic of mine, I can't choose a favorite child T-T Here's a link to my AO3, filtered for only fics over 10k words just in case anyone is interested in the 8 longer fics of mine Also mentioning you, at last, a little shorter than the above at 8.6k, but definitely one of my favorite A3 fics I wrote!!! It's a platonic soulmate AU, I'm constantly tempted to use the AU for another fandom because I think the rules of soulmates in it are really good. And while it's not a long fic, I reread smoke signals (HxH) recently and I love what I did with it. I think a lot about it still because I think that the offscreen apology Gon is implied to have given Killua is really interesting, and smoke signals is me writing my idea of it ^-^

Will make you stay home and sleep. He'll even lay on top of you so you have no choice but to stay in bed (if you manage to throw him off then he's absolutely going to think that's hot).

If you two have different work schedules or jobs or whatnot then he will call you at night. If you pick up then he's going to scold you for not being asleep (although if he's the reason you woke up then you get a quick, "I love you." then he hangs up).

You often hear Date saying no to something she wants and she immediately replies by saying you would say yes, which causes Date to sigh exasperatedly before both of them look to you to take a side.

You very much have to be the mediator between these two. Of course they care about each other, but they're both so stubborn that you'll need to be the one to tell them to make up.

It's so obvious how much you all care about each other though. Even though there's plenty of verbal insults thrown around, you can see how happy Mizuki is to have a family. And Date, while initially not knowing how he felt about having kids, definitely has a soft spot for Mizuki. And he obviously loves you, he doesn't hide it at all (to Mizuki's chagrin).

While he is nervous about the date, he acts so sweet to you the whole time. He knows that you can take care of yourself, but he likes opening the door for you or offering his hand to walk with you.

Has a split second of wanting to scan you with Tama just to see if you're as nervous as he is, but realizes that's dumb and he doesn't want to invade your privacy like that. But he does keep an eye on your to make sure you're also enjoying yourself. Does his best to give gentle compliments and light-hearted comments in hopes of easing you both.

“LET US OUT OF HERE–!!”

you were woken up by ryuki's yelling, not yet realizing the situation you were in. all you noticed is how dark it was. even as you opened your eyes, it didn't get brighter. and when you tried to stretch and sit up, your limbs soon made contact with the walls of the small room you were in.

“OPEN THE DOOR–!”

there was only a small ray of light shining from underneath what seemed to be the door. ryuki was banging against it and yelling. it took you a couple more seconds, before you realized what was going on: ryuki and you were trapped together!

“w-where are we…?”

you got back up on your feet and ryuki whipped around as soon as he heard your voice. he looked relieved when he saw you were awake. but it was hard to tell in the dark.

“i-i don't know…” he sighed, clearly unsettled by the situation. “when i woke up, we were both in here. tama isn't here either, nor do i have my phone on me! i think… someone kidnapped us!”

you tried to remain calm, but ryuki's words were rather concerning. there was no way for the two of you to reach anyone outside of this tiny room. the only way out was this door, which was locked tight. you were stuck in here…

“and… how long have you been trying to get the door open now?”

“i woke up a couple minutes before you. i haven't been at it for too long. but it doesn't look good…”

“then let me have a look!”

you carefully squeezed past ryuki, to get a better look at the door. but after a short inspection, you realized there was nothing you could do. the screws couldn't be loosened without any tools, the keyhole was one that could only be used from the outside and there wasn't any space underneath the door to squeeze anything through. the only way through that door was brute force.

“okay, we'll just… have to break it open–!”

you sounded rather enthusiastic. working at ABIS, you had always wanted to kick open a door. all the detectives in movies got to do that. surely, it couldn't be that hard. especially if ryuki and you worked together!

“alright… then let's try it–!”

ryuki and you threw yourself against the door. you kicked and punched the door, both at the same time, as well as one at a time. but in the end, you got to find out the hard way that it really was that hard. whatever the doors in detective movies were made of, this door was much sturdier!

“it's pointless… we're going to die in here…”

just minutes ago, you were so enthusiastic about opening that door. but now you were worn out and any motivation you had before had vanished. you had given up completely, as you sunk to the floor.

“well… it could be worse–!”

ryuki sunk down next to you, trying to cheer you up a little. and at the very least, you huffed amused.

“how could this be worse?”

“well… at least i'm with you, you know?”

a small smile hushed over your lips, as you turned towards ryuki.

“i'm glad i'm stuck with you too, ryuki~”

you gently bumped your shoulder against his. ryuki smiled too and the two of you sat in silence for another moment, before ryuki broke the silence.

“i-if i don't make it out of here–”

“woah, stop right there!”

you sat straight up and turned to ryuki. he awkwardly tried to avoid eye contact with you, as you put your hands on his shoulders.

“don't even think like that, okay?”

“n-no, that– it's not like that–! please, just listen to me, okay?”

you nodded reluctantly. ryuki took a deep breath, before he sat up too and looked you in the eyes.

“if i don't make it out of here, i know there's one thing i'd really regret not telling you. and– well, now seems to be the best time to tell you that… i love you!”

suddenly, you were happy there was barely any light in that small room. otherwise ryuki would've noticed the blush on your cheeks as he confessed to you.

“i love you too, ryuki~” you whispered softly. “i kind of wish i could've said it somewhere more romantic though…”

the two of you chuckled softly, before ryuki began to lean in, a hand caressing your cheek.

“w-well… if you close your eyes, you can imagine a more romantic place…!”

he was trying to be smooth, to make up an excuse to kiss you. but it worked and you closed your eyes, before slowly leaning in, until your lips met. it was a soft kiss at first, but one filled with much passion. it felt like this could not only be your first kiss, but last one too.

but then, out of nowhere, the door to your small room swung open, not only interrupting your kiss, but blinding you with the sudden light, after such a long time in the dark.

“ooh, look who's making out there! boss, come see this–!”

“idiot, you should've waited before opening the door! the plan wasn't to interrupt their confession–!”

it was too bright to see who was talking, but ryuki and you soon recognized those voices. and perhaps knowing who they were only made you angrier.

“MISTER DATE–!?”

“MIZUKI–!?”

ryuki and you cried out in unison. your ‘kidnappers’ were none other than your friends and colleagues. and as you began to get used to the light and saw them standing there, you spotted boss along them.

“w-what the hell are you three doing here!?”

ryuki and you quickly got up on your feet, leaving that tiny room, only to realize you had been within ABIS headquarters all along. and as you looked back on the room, the words ‘janitor's closet’ were written on the door.

“oh, we just happened to come by when you were locked in this room and decided to free you~!”

date tried to act all innocent, but after receiving a smack on the back of his head from you, he whined, before giving a proper response.

“ouch–! fine, we locked you in here! but it was all mizuki's idea–!”

“you were the one who locked them in here–! i just said that we should do something to help them get together! i couldn't stand to see them being all awkward around each other anymore…”

mizuki and date began to bicker, pointing fingers at each other and raising their voices. hearing pieces of their conversation, you slowly began to piece everything together.

date, mizuki and boss had locked you in here, after being fed up by the two of you not acting on your crush on each other. hoping that you'd confess in a life or death situation, they faked one together. and their stupid plan seems to have worked on you…

Kizuna

Kizuna is immediately calling Date and asking for his help. She would love to go to the crime scene to look for herself, but knows she can't interfere in police business, even if it's for the sake of her S/O.

If she's allowed to visit you then she makes sure to always have a smile on her face in hopes it cheers you up. You will be fine, S/O. She promises that you will be okay.

While she gives you smiles, she has to go and see Iris because of feeling so hopeless and upset because she can't do anything to help you. Iris helps calm Kizuna down (and makes some calls to Date herself).

Iris

Absolutely going to crash the crime scene. She won't do anything to ruin it, but she's going to the scene to do her own investigating. Will blackmail Date over something if he tries to get her to leave.

Seriously, she's not going to stand by while her S/O is in jail for some bullshit crime that they didn't commit! She'll gladly hand out autographs and do her signature poses as a way to bribe the cops to let her stay.

That said, she does trust Date to find the truth out with the whole sync thing, but she still wants to see if she can help find stuff out without resorting to that.

Moma

"What the fuck, Date?" Would be what he says when he calls the idiot. Date is his link to the police and he just learned that you were arrested for something that Moma knows you didn't commit.

Will see if he can find some shady cops to bribe to get you out of jail faster (which also makes you seem a bit more guilty even if it wasn't your doing). Moma also questions his men, telling them to figure out who is using his S/O as a damn scapegoat.

God he wants to visit you at the jail so badly, but he doesn't trust the damn cops so hopefully he can call you at least. He's sure Date could pull a few strings so he can talk to you. Moma is quick to tell you that he loves you and will get you out of this.

Ryuki

Oh this is an interesting one. With Ryuki's sense of justice, finding out that you got arrested for a crime has him feeling a mix of things. First off, you're his S/O so he wants to believe you didn't do it. But a small part of his brain wonders if you did. If you've been tricking him this whole time.

Might be a bit distant from you, not even visiting you when you're in interrogation. He's going to search for the truth on his own and doesn't want to risk talking to you and learning that maybe… maybe you did do it.

He's lucky he has Date and Tama to keep his head on straight. It'd probably take convincing from them to go and see you because you need him right now. There's no way you did the crime and you need Ryuki to comfort you. So Ryuki goes and apologizes profusely, swearing he'll prove your innocence.

Tries to act cool and suave but he's also a bit nervous. He likes you, he knows this for certain, but that doesn't make the thought of confessing to you any easily.

Not to mention his job is dangerous. The amount of crap he's been roped into is wild. And he doesn't want you in harms way because of him, but he can't help being selfish.

So he tries to work up the nerve. Probably asks you out for drinks after a successful case. The alcohol helps with his courage a bit, but he doesn't drink too much since he wants to remember this. There's a blush on his face (which he hopes the alcohol disguises it a bit) as he tries to seem nonchalant with saying, "You know, we'd make a good couple..." and he just side eyes you to see your reaction.

Ryuki

So much more nervous than Date, but also so much more hesitant to ask you out. He just thinks of all the danger you'd be in and doesn't want that all.

Anytime he sees you, Tama is yelling in his head pick up lines and compliments that definitely aren't appropriate. You can't tell if Ryuki's blush is from Tama's comments or your presence.

The only way Ryuku really confesses is if your life was on the line and he saved you, he got very drunk, or Tama pops out of his head and tells you herself. Most likely the Tama option which also causes the most chaos.

Boss decided it’d be fun to do a gift exchange thing, mostly because she wanted to make someone give her a present.

Date got your gift and there was just simultaneous eye rolling and sighs when he looked at you and said, "You're the only gift I want to unwrap."  

Honestly, everyone kind of expected Date to say something scandelous so Mizuki was already ready to kick him in the shin as Bibi was pulling him away. Complaints followed as he was dragged away from you due to his flirting.

Neither of the girls wanted to see it (neither did Boss or Ryuki, but they’ve learned to deal with it at this point).

Date

Refuses to look at you as he breaks up with you. He knows if he does then he'll take back everything and beg you to not leave him. But he can't have that.

Cases are getting too scary, people close to him are getting involved and hurt. He is not going to let that happen to you and letting you go is the only option.

You're yelling and telling him to look at you, but he doesn't. He just gives you a final "Good bye" and walks away. Tears are streaming down his face, but he refuses to turn back and look at you. He can't. He just hopes one day you won't hate him for what he did.

Moma

It's so damn difficult for him to get the sentence out. For him to finish his thoughts. You're tearing up and going to cry and it makes him want to run and pull you into his arms. But he can't.

He has to look away and remind himself and you that he's in the Yakuza. Having an actual talk with you isn't working, he can't do it. So he has to tell you that you get in his way. That you're annoying.

It hurts so fucking bad to lie to you like this, but he has to. Things are getting bad, the boss is getting more upset, and he can't have you get in the crossfire. So while his words are harsh and hurtful, he needs to keep you safe. No matter how broken it makes him in the process.

Ryuki

Oh he knows he's fucked in the head. That he's not doing okay. And he can't have you around him when he's a danger to everyone around him.

It hurts his heart so badly, but he tells you that he can't do this. He can't risk your safety like this. You can argue and fight him on this as much as you want, but he's not budging.

Maybe one day he'll trust himself to go back to you. But right now, he just can't allow himself to hurt you even if that's what he's doing right now.
