There were once supersonic passenger planes that could reach speeds of up to 1,354 mph. In comparison, today’s commercial airliners typically cruise at around 560 mph.

I really could use some more context on your plane story, because what??
haha yeah
the plane was landing in seattle but there was excessive fog. the pilots circled in the air for about 45 minutes to wait for it to clear, it never did, eventually they attempted a landing but had to do a really really last minute abort/go around. i remember watching from the window and we were only about ~50 ft or so from the ground when they pulled the abort because we were not where we were supposed to be. it was such a fast abort everyone was thrown backwards since the plane had to jerk and accelerate really abruptly.
after that i was expecting another 40 minutes of circles but instead the plane started flying south and it just. did not stop. like when we passed mt. saint helens i thought "well hey. thats not seattle." so after like 20 minutes of flying straight south and climbing back up to 30,000 ft the pilots go on the intercom like "we're taking your asses to portland" and i was like "OK" because the fuck am i going to do in that situation. sure enough they took us all the way to oregon and landed. we sat on the tarmac for like 2 hours and eventually went back to seattle and everything was fine. but it was a fun reminder that the pilots can just take us anywhere they want once we're in the air because we cant do anything about it.

Under the planned rules mishandling a wheelchair would be a violation of the ACAA, airlines would be required to immediately notify the passenger of their rights. Airlines would be required to repair or replace the wheelchair at the preferred vendor of the passenger's choice as well as provide a loaner wheelchair that fits the passenger's needs/requirements

More than 150 flight attendants, joined by U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” Garcia (D-Ill) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill), picketed outside O’Hare Airport on Tuesday to protest the lack of contract negotiations and demand better wages and working conditions. The flight attendants in Chicago were joined by thousands of other flight attendants across major cities such as New York City, Los Angeles and Boston, as part of the Worldwide Flight Attendant Day of Action. More than two-thirds of U.S. flight attendants across 24 airlines are in contract negotiations, including with Chicago-based United Airlines, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. “We are the faces of our carriers. We deserve better work rules, we deserve shorter work days and we also deserve longer rest periods,” said Dray Howard, Chicago-based president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, during a news conference. Flight attendants at American Airlines haven’t seen a salary or cost-of-living increase in five years, Howard said, and some new hires can barely survive, even when picking up trips on their days off, she said.

So fun fact! I'm a flight attendant! And there are a lot of whispers about mainline flight attendants wanting to strike

another part of my pregnant griffith hcs!
Guts absolutely LOVES seeing Griffith pregnant, especially towards the end of his pregnancies. He doesn't really know why he finds it as attractive as he does, just something about the way Griff rounds out, softens up real nice and full of life just gets Guts going. Maybe it's that, or maybe it's the fact that it's his baby in Griffith's womb, that he's the one responsible for his condition that makes his blood run hot. It doesn't matter that Griffith practically bares his teeth at him when he finds himself with child once again; the Swordsman knows he'll come around after a week or two. Guts coddles and spoils him to no end when he's in such a condition, and Griffith secretly loves it.
Unfortunately, Guts knows he can't keep Griffith pregnant forever, so after the concurrent births of their fourth and fifth babies, they decide that's more than enough for them. They find methods, both natural and magical, to prevent such an occurrence from happening again. The two miss it, though, more Guts than Griffith, and sometimes Guts will find himself fondling and grasping at Griffith's hips and thighs and belly, especially when they're making love. After four pregnancies resulting in five babies, Griffith was never really able to shed the weight, and Guts hoped he never would.
Griffith had been beautiful from the day they met, with a lean and toned body, formed from the years of training and fighting he'd endured. But that had also been in part to all the years without steady meals, sometimes choosing to share or outright withhold food from himself so that more of the Hawks would be able to eat.
The days of having to decide when to eat were now behind them; they were nobles now. Griffith no longer had to worry about feeding his men adequately, and the two could feed both themselves and their children without having to worry about rationing and the sort. It was this lifestyle change that helped Griffith's beauty really shine through. At least, that's what Guts thought anyway.
The White Hawk was at his most gorgeous now. Apart from the pregnancies, regular meals had helped in gaining his new, curvaceous form, filling out his clothes quite nicely. His silver hair was thicker and curlier and shinier than ever before, one of the more pleasant side effects from his many pregnancies. His skin was also radiant and supple in the face, which, combined with the bit of fat he'd gained in his rosy cheeks, made it appear as though he were aging backward.

You know, in the grand scheme of things, an airline leaving a social network is not headline breaking news piece, but yeah, the announcement is funny
