लोकसभा अध्यक्ष बिरला ने केंद्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री के साथ की समीक्षा न्यूजवेव @ कोटा/नई दिल्ली लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला ने बुधवार को संसद भवन स्थित अपने कक्ष में नागर विमानन मंत्री के. राममोहन नायडू और एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (AAI) के अधिकारियों के साथ कोटा ग्रीनफील्ड एयरपोर्ट के संबंध में समीक्षा बैठक की। बैठक में बिरला ने कहा कि सम्पूर्ण हाड़ौती क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए कोटा में एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण आश्वयक है। राज्य सरकार इस संबंध में बाधाओं को तेजी से दूर कर रही है। केंद्र सरकार के स्तर पर औपचारिकताओं को जल्द पूरा कर राज्य सरकार के साथ समन्वय बनाकर काम किया जाए ताकि एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण शीघ्र प्रारंभ हो सके। नागर विमानन मंत्री नायडू ने बताया कि मंत्रालय कोटा ग्रीन फील्ड एयरपोर्ट के कार्य को बेहद गंभीरता से ले रहा है। एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया और राज्य सरकार के बीच एमओयू पर अगले माह हस्ताक्षर हो जाएंगे। एएआई के अधिकारियों को तेजी से काम करते हुए एयरपोर्ट की डीपीआर जल्द से जल्द तैयार करने को कहा गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त वन एवं पर्यावरण मंत्रालय से एन्वायरमेंटल क्लियरेंस सहित अन्य विभागों से एनओसी प्राप्त करने की प्रक्रिया भी डीपीआर (DPR) बनने के साथ ही पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि डीपीआर बनने और सभी विभागों से एनओसी प्राप्त होने के बाद टेंडर प्रक्रिया को एक निश्चित अवधि में पूरा किया जाएगा। एयरपोर्ट अथॉरिटी का लक्ष्य होगा कि निर्माण कार्य प्रारंभ होने के दो वर्ष के भीतर कार्य पूरा कर कोटा एयरपोर्ट को ऑपरेशनल कर दिया जाए। एयरपोर्ट पर उतर सकेगी एयरबस ए-320

कोटा ग्रीनफील्ड एयरपोर्ट का निर्माण होने के बाद यहां एयरबस ए-320 विमान उतर सकेंगे। ए��रबस ए-320 की क्षमता 150 से 200 यात्रियों की होती है। भारत में अधिकांशतः इसी विमान का उपयोग किया जाता है। मंत्री नायडू ने कहा कि मंत्रालय का प्रयास रहेगा कि कोटा को देश के सभी प्रमुख शहरों के लिए फ्लाइट उपलब्ध हो। बढ़ती गर्मी देखते हुए बढ़ेगी रनवे की लंबाई
