Sorry for the delay in answering this, I wanted to answer it well!!!

Here's my typical 5-step process:

flats

he has been flatted. You'll notice I also colored the lineart at this stage as well! Also, I do work with the background at the same time, but I have hidden it here for simplicity.

2. Cell shade shadows

I used to skip cell shading and just ball with my rendering, but I have found starting out like this is much faster!!

3. Airbrush shadows and colors

I did two things here, one is just a touch of airbrushing the colors into eachother, to help make everything more harmonious. The other is to airbrush colors onto my shadows! I set that layer to multiply, and mess around until something looks a little like I want.

4. Painting

This is the time sink - there's no getting around it, it just takes forever!! It's a lot about making the dark areas darker, and artifically injecting some color diversity - I like to diversify shades, and just slap on slight hue shifts as i go, and if it sucks I just paint over it some more. I draw different colors into eachother (look at the black shirt above, see how i bring in the tan and whites into the grey?) and add detail and texture. It's a little hard to explain beyond that, hmm... Do let me know if you have specific questions about it!

5. bedazzle and effects

I add extra highlights to the highlights, maybe a sparkle or two on a hard edge, hash lines for texture, and occasionally I also do screentones in shadows. Also, importantly, i blur things that shgould be out of focus! See on the arms and legs here - the bottom image has them blurred more intensely the further they are from the focal point. It's a small thing, but this effect goes a long way!

Annd done!

It's the little things that make a rendered piece sing! A balance between detailing and speed is a tricky one to figure out - I'm still working on that myself!

Also, there's two different ways I render at the moment, one is the quick-messy for sketches, which is what I've done for most of my fanart lately, but I assumed that you were asking about my full process so I went into detail on that. Tho if you're curious about my sketch rendering, anyone is welcome to ask me about that as well!

So like… can I say that I want to make a rpg game of David… because I really do 😭

But like analog horror.. of Saul/David

AHAHAHAAA- well I made these little David and Jonathan sprites hehehe (this is my first time doing pixel art omg) along with another version of Jonathan, and don’t be fooled by their cutesy appearance, since that’s what this innocent bible game is trying to make you think.

But basically, this focuses on Saul’s descent into madness including his relationship with David, Jonathan, G-d, and himself as the story unfolds…

Okay the concept that I have tho goes as follows:

In the game, you play as David, and your main goal is to simply play music for King Saul, for one night. Along the way, David meets various characters, telling him about Saul and warning him. But most importantly, David meets Jonathan, and Jonathan is your guide. He knows Saul best, and you must trust him.. and make sure you do exactly everything he says in order to get to play for Saul.

But once you finally play for him… the madness unfolds. Everything is off. You’ve been transported to Saul’s realm/mind as you confront the evil spirit that torments him.

And at this point, more is learned about the king, and the fate of Saul and Jonathan, and how Samuel manipulates his chosen ones.. but also there are like four “levels” to play, in which you play the pov of different characters in each section of the story. You start off as David, then Jonathan, then Saul… and then David again.

It becomes more hellish and dark from that point forward, seeing fragments of memories and Saul’s subconscious, and different interactions between different character povs. And the ending, I’ll be keeping it to myself…

Until or if I even make this game happen- LMAO

Except I literally have no knowledge of making rpg and coding and stuff… so… if there’s someone who knows how, I WILL GIVE YOU THIS IDEAA, orr… in the far far future when I have the time and when my life is great and not depressing, maybe I’ll actually try to learn to make this heh… But I’ve also seen people make rpgs with their ocs, so… it’s not entirely hard to make one right? Lol

As for the style of the game, it’s a vhs style game from the 80s that’s a mix of pixels, and a painting airbrush/surreal style, for certain parts.. David’s sprite stays pixelated tho, but I imagine Saul and Jonathan to have another sprite that’s more eerie and painted, toward the end, like that other version of Jonathan I made.

I even made a concept for the soundtrack lmaoo, but these songs fit the vibe well

But anyways, this is like something I want to make one day. I have a thing for vhs rpg style games, and making one for David would be so cool, but it’ll probably be a lot to try and make for how I imagine it ngl lmao. But nothing can stop me from making a silly little analog horror game of David’s story, whenever i get the time 😎

omg what brushes and program do you use?

Oh I'm not sure this answer will be very usefull from amount of brushes listed. I have very few faves actually and mostly like them because they help me circumvent my perfectionism.

So right now I'm using Clip Studio Paint but I've been using Photoshop for a looooong time. Till they pissed me off too much with adobe adobeness. That's why part of my brushes are originally photoshop ones I've ported to CSP.

I mostly do linearts, like overly detailed ones, like this closeup:

Which I used DAUB FunnyGranny2 and back in PS times (and also now sometimes) I've used Kyle's Drawing Box - Animator Pencil 2016 from Kyle Webster (now available for free with PS as far as I know? still I had bought them ages ago and just ported it to CSP, works ok)

I like those two brushes because they are slightly grainy and aren't 100% smooth which helps me not to be as precious about smoothness. Otherwise I'd be smoothing it over and over again. Also they loose a bit of opacity with lighter touch which I like :)

I also like the Belgian Comics Smoother from Kyle's Inbox. It's very smooth but has a nice shape so I use it for touchups on color flats and lettering.

As for my more recent spiderverse comics of following close up:

I need to make them quick so everything is on 2000x2000 canvas and is linearted with DAUB - Fluid Ink Chisel 2 set permanently on size 30 so I won't be tempted :D It may not be grainy but I like how it changes it size and opacity with pressure and how it changes it's shape with direction of line.

Besides that I mostly use flat colors (I love the Lasso Fill tool in CSP) and regular soft airbrush too add some gradients.

I don;t use them that often but I also like Mirre's markers + blender if I do some actual shading but I also use Kyle's gouaches then.

And that's about it :)

I mostly use the first two brushes for um..everything!! Im so in love with the first one because it's absolutely comfortable!! It mostly for lineart, but i can also color with this one But usually i color and do light/shadows with an airbrush + it gives a noisy blurring effect i really like :з

The third brush is for coloring too, but i use it rarely because watercolor brushes is difficult to control + my drawing app often freezes when i use them lol. Fourth and fifth are for additional textures or coloring

But uh as for brushes I use, for Krita I just use the Basic-5 Size Opacity and both that and airbrush for shading. For procreate I use a weird combination of 6B studiopen and round brush for everything (and a bunch of the other brushes but I don’t consistently use them).

As for shading, I would usually make a clipping mask and use blue or purple with the multiplier blending option(the rest is up to choosing where the lighting comes from). I’d also suggest just looking at how shadows work irl I dunno it helped me understand what goes where ig.

Sorry if this isn’t great, I’m not good at giving advice lol

things that i learned since ive started using makeup (part 1)

use brushes or fingers to blend if u want fuller coverage, beauty blenders or sponges for the vice versa

less is definitely more products

eyeshadow can be used for everything (contour, lip colour + balm/gloss, eyebrow colour, highlighter, literally anything)

buy neutral + pinkish shades for eyeshadows if ure a beginner (helps alot increating sm looks)

buy pink/brown/red/orange lip mattes/sticks colours

u can use ur lipstick as blush and eyeshadow!

a good mascara for ME: gives volume, curl, and easy to wash

eyeliner for slightly hooded eyes: dont let the eyeliner touch the line/crease idk what u call it that is nearest to ur lash line to have a better look

OH plus start from the middle instead of the inner corners of ur eyes

u can use ur daily powder as setting powder

curling ur eyelashes at different lengths to give a more natural curl look

use eyebrow pencil as lip liner, contour

nose contour for ME who have a big base of nose: only contour the top, dont go all in (definitely does wonders omg tq a lot for that one maoi tiktoker)

blush placement plays a big role in making ur face look lifted or wide!! u decide for the look ofc

theres no actual rule for makeup, u do u

denser brushes are for placing the products onto our face, fluffier ones to blend

instead of swiping the product, instead tapping the product to make it look airbrushed

wear sunscreen as base for glowy look

add setting powder for a matte look

concealer + blush to make the concealer more neutral/skin like

A thing that is remarkable about Yuri on Ice is that it completely flips the idea of ‘Don’t meet your idols’ over its head. It’s a scenario that is begging to happen. Just in the first episode, we find out that Yuuri’s biggest goal in competitive skating is to be on the same ice as Victor. He got a poodle as a child because Victor had one; he named said poodle after him, and the walls of his room are covered in Victor’s face. 

When a person idolises someone to such a degree, it is improbable to meet their expectations because the pedestal is in the heavens. We almost expect Victor to be a cold jerkface because we’re introduced to him as a casual playboy.

And yet, Victor does meet those expectations in the best way possible. He’s not the ethereal, otherworldly person Yuuri imagines him to be. But he is still a wonderful person. He is kind; he’s affectionate; he is thoughtful, and he’s  lonely. In other words, he meets all our expectations not because he’s unreachable, but because he’s real and human. 

I imagine Yuuri thinking back on his younger self’s idolisation and softly smiling, because Victor is even better than everything he’d dreamed. The Victor hanging on the posters of his walls, with his media smile and airbrushed face doesn’t match the real Victor with his heart-shaped smiles and little imperfections like slightly crooked teeth. Victor remains on the pedestal for Yuuri, not because he is an ethereal, heavenly creature, but because he is his wonderful Vitya, who’s clingy and kind and soft and makes Yuuri better everyday. Victor didn’t get knocked off his pedestal; the pedestal was brought down to where Yuuri was so they could meet each other in the middle, and Yuuri loved Victor all the more for it.

Oop okay. I have not read the last 2 in years but I reread them enough to remember lol.

Twilight:

THE BLOOD TYPING SCENE!! Oh my gaaaaawd when I tell you I was so pissed they left that out the movie. I will never forget how blushy I was and how much I was kicking my legs during that scene it's not even funny.

The movie did it justice but my brain was irrevocably (hehe) altered when he saved her from getting killed in the parking lot

Really just the introductions of the cullens in general? I'm pretty vocal about the fact that I would've changed some of the casting and the movie did not do their introductions justice at all. I stared because their faces, so different, so similar, were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. They were faces you never expected to see except perhaps on the airbrushed pages of a fashion magazine. Or painted by an old master as the face of an angel. It was hard to decide who was the most beautiful – maybe the perfect blond girl, or the bronze-haired boy. Liiiike I'm sorry but the movie fell so flat with that. Bella was beyond observant and they allowed an internal monologue for just about everything else so why not this?

Their trek to the meadow omg I swoon! Them hiking up to the meadow was a whole scene! Literally filled pages in the book where they pretty much spent the whole day together and he just spent the whole time asking her questions and getting to know her. This was just one of those scenes that was cut from the movie that really showed their love story. These two were obsessed with each other but not as unrealistically as the movie portrayed it. They literally spent so much time getting to know each other and wanting to know as much about each other as possible. Their first kiss was literally in the meadow! It was nerve wracking and hesitant and so cute! Wtf was that first kiss in the movie 🤢 and this whole scene had other cute stuff like when she admitted her favorite gemstone was topaz because it reminded her of Edward's eyes.

When James brought up Alice and you figured out that he's the vampire from her story that killed her maker and had tried to kill her. It really honed in on how focused on "the game" he got and how he wouldn't stop so he had to be put down

The scene where Edward drove bella to school the first time. Yeah. Yeah. Another scene I think the movies got right because again, my ass was giddy af reading that.

When Edward tasted Bella's tear 😭 these two were soooo-

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot bc twilight had so many little scenes and moments that was just building on their love story that I was obsessed with. Every time I read twilight I remember why I was team Edward from day 1

New Moon:

I don't have many favorite scenes to gush over in this book and I'm sure there's no explanation needed as to why 😭 but that dream in the beginning had me SHOOK. Bella's dramatic ass would've made you think she was turning 28 instead of 18 my goodness but it was done so well though.

Literally just the whole birthday scene. Funnily enough NM is my least favorite book but it was my favorite movie for a long time solely because of how accurate it was to the book and the movie did do that scene justice.

Meeting the volturi

When Heidi brought in all those people to be killed.

It made me sad but in a strange way that wasn't completely depressing how Bella didn't want to go to sleep when they came back because she still wasn't convinced it was real and was afraid Edward would be gone when she woke up 🥺

Eclipse:

When Edward got a bed and Bella kept trying to take his clothes off and he kept laughing at her 🧍🏾‍♀️ like idk what he thought was funny because ole girl was serious about that dick

Jasper and Rosalie's story. Again. I think the movies did these scenes pretty solid but idk. Something about the way Rosalie tells her story in the book is so frightening and addicting. You just have this dread the whole time because we all know where she ends up but nothing can properly prepare you for what really happened. I remember I just felt so sad for her. "Would you like to hear my story, Bella? It doesn’t have a happy ending – but which of ours does? If we had happy endings, we’d all be under gravestones now.” Starting it off like this was nothing short of poetry yup yup.

When Jacob found out Edward and Bella were engaged. Lmaooo. Sorry not sorry but Edward was sick af for entertaining jacob that she could ever choose him and then bringing up the engagement knowing his ass was listening. That was a beautiful moment for me

When Edward threatened jacob for kissing Bella without her consent. That was hot

“The word ‘boyfriend’ had me chewing on the inside of my cheek with a familiar tension while I stirred. It wasn’t the right word, not at all. I needed something more expressive of eternal commitment...” THIS! This line right here is why I get miffed when people say Bella didn't really want to marry Edward but just the vampire lifestyle. This is literally how she describes her relationship with Edward and how she has nothing against the commitment to him but moreso the concept of marriage and a wedding itself due to her parents' marriage.

Breaking Dawn:

Y'all already know. Isle Esme shouldve been its own book fr. The whole process of going to the island and the honeymoon was just chef's kiss. Bella just really wanting to be with him in that way and Edward saying he promised they'd try and then she woke up after having the time of her life and Edward the eternal brooder is having a meltdown because there are bruises and she snapped on him about ruining her high 😭

Also when he bit a pillow because he really wanted to bite her >>>

Can't remember if they left this in the movie but definitely the scene where they pretty much say that the women of the Denali coven and their deceased mother are/were succubi

That scene when Jacob realized they were going to have a "real" honeymoon was waaaay more dramatic in the book. Pretty sure it was a miscast but in the movie Jacob just reminded me of an angry cub or puppy most of the time. Like I was not taking him serious at all but in the book? Oh yeah he was going to kill Edward fr if the other pack members hadn't shown up.

The fact that the cleaning lady knew or had an inkling of what Edward and his family was in the beginning and even though she was scared, she still stuck around to watch out for Bella 🥺 in the movie they left in the scene where Edward was begging for her help once they realized bella was pregnant and I was glad

When Edward first heard renesmee's thoughts and it made him not hate her anymore because he could hear how much their baby loved bella and he couldn't hate anything that loved bella

Gaaaaawd when they first found out she was pregnant and she realized her and Edward wouldn't see eye to eye on this and the first person she called was Rosalie? Yeah. I know Rosalie was helping for a lot of selfish reasons but idk. As a Rosalie fan I really liked that Bella knew Rosalie would stick behind her on this if no one else did

When she first woke up from being a vampire and immediately tried to jump Edward's bones in front of everyone and told him he'd been holding out on her 😭

The cottage reveal

Sorry but I'll always prefer the book version where there was no "vision". I know the movie had people gagged but it was unnecessary to me. They gathered all their allies, calmly showed the volturi that renesmee was not an immortal child, the volturi killed irina, and they left. Easy peasy.

As for fave characters, definitely Alice, Rosalie, Jasper, Seth, Caius, Angela, and Edward.

Hiiii! I’ve looked through your tags and couldn’t find anything so I wanted to ask- do you have any tutorials or process steps for your art? It’s really beautiful!

Omg thank you so much!!! I really appreciate that 😭💖💖, and I do have a process! (idk if u can call this a tutorial? Just sort of a general flow of what i usually do) It's pretty simple actually cuz I'm still experimenting with different methods lol. (btw, disclaimer that I'm just self-taught and mostly learned stuff from YouTube hahahahaha)

Let’s use the Merida that I drew some few months ago.

1. Sketch - I just figure out where to place things! I don't rlly bother with details and stuff, just put some shapes in.

2. Line art - I know this made it look like it came out of nowhere but I did an initial line art that looks a bit scratchy before I did this final line art on a separate layer.

3. Base colors - I just block out base colors. I suggest using separate layers for each section (hair, skin, clothes, eyes) so its easier to put in the details later.

4. Shadows - I do this by adding a new layer, set it on "multiply", clip it on top of my base layer, and just select the same color I used for the base to color my shadow. (I usually play around with other colors to use for shadow but this is basically what i did when i was just starting out. Also I'm lazy af.)

5. Highlights - for this I add a "screen" or an "add" layer and, same process with the shadows, I pick the same color as my base and put the highlights in.

6. Coloring the line art - I set the line art layer in "protect alpha" and I color in the lines. (u can color them however u want rlly. For mine i just used a darker shade of my base color and colored the inside lines.)

7. Adding "overlay" layer - after I'm done with everything, I merge all of my layers and then add an "overlay" layer at the top, just to like, bring it all together or something. (For this I airbrushed yellow at the top and pink at the bottom and lowered the layer's opacity at 35%)

Then i just add background and fix stuff if i had to.

I clicked the link in the post about danneels new pics with the mask and I lol'd so hard! She is photoshopped so hard she has no features! NO NOSE!! Omg it's comedy. Like you can't see MOST of her face but someone insisted that they remove all visible facial features.

I almost feel bad for her because if this is what they have to do in order for her to be ok with the pics then she honestly does have something psychologically wrong with her and she's going to need help if she's ever going to come to terms with herself.

I am seriously starting to wonder if Danneel has body dysmorphia or something similar. The photographer erased most of her facial structure, all of her wrinkles and airbrushed her face to the point there she looks CGI-ed in. She didn't do the same with the other women who were posing so I am super weirded out by this photo-shoot. Especially since everyone but Danneel had a more natural vibe and mannerisms, she's the only one who looked disconnected, dead inside and awkwardly vulgar not to mention like a knock off doll because everything about her is fake now, there's nothing natural left.
