AION: the new update

Shortly before the ninth European anniversary of MMO fantasy role-playing game AION, publisher Gameforge is releasing one of the biggest updates of recent years. The changes are so extensive that update 6.0 is easily comparable to a relaunch. The aim of ‘A New Dawn’ is to take the game back to its roots and to put AION back in the hands of its fans. Players have been able to register for a beta since 5th September and test the improvements at their leisure. Two Weeks of Testing and Feedback in the Beta Phase  Players have been able to get a taste of the new AION since the 5th September by testing the update in a game environment created especially for this purpose. During these two weeks all voluntary testers received generous support to enable them to play up to and then try out high-level content. The European update 6.0 corresponds to the Korean version 6.2, where all bug fixes and finishing work on the huge update have already been implemented. Players in Europe will therefore be presented with ‘A New Dawn’, a complete version containing all 6.0 content and its polishing. Improved Features

An exciting and completely reworked storyline lets players dive deeper into the world of Atreia.

This is just my brain vomit re Aion EU, forgive me 

So I was thinking about how we haven’t had a new class in forever, and that the sw/bard/muse class is still missing its second counterpart. I was imagining a class that I thought would look really cool, and thought of the idea of a class that fights with a whip, with the handle of the whip looking like a paintbrush or the handle of a sword or dagger, or something similar to that? 

I was thinking it would look cool if it looked like the whip itself was bathed in black/dark blue ink (or any other color, I suppose), and each strike could send ink spraying. The animations could be similar in pacing to that of a cleric or chanter, and have a gymnast or dancer vibe to it since it would look like a ribbon. When the weapon is not in use it could be rolled up or tied at the hip or held in the hand like an orb or book. 

I was watching a guy on youtube named Sywo (you guys should check him out for Aion, Bless, or WOW related stuff, he’s great) who I believe suggested that the next class could be an artist class that wears plate gear and uses physical, like a contrast to the current artist class. I think that would be cool. 

Then I started thinking about what other potential classes there could be in the future, and I thought of an either all physical or mixed magic and physical class that is close to mixed martial arts? Perhaps the weapon could be like brass knuckles but longer (like Wolverine) or nun chucks? I don’t know what these guys would wear, though. 

Anyway this was just my brain vomit. Feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts or share your predictions/hopes for future classes. I’ve played Aion on and off for 4-5 years, but to be honest I’m really behind (my main is still only lv 71) and I’m not totally up to date with any news regarding the game. Also since a bunch of new gear came out I am so painfully obliterated every time I enter any kind of pvp lmao.
