If you still do the ask meme: nr.1 for a timetravel Jangosoka?
26 Family Prompts Ask Meme
Accidental Baby Acquisition
This contains both intentional and accidental acquisition. (They'll give it back! Probably.)
------------------
"He's mine."
Jango looks at the woman he has, somehow, managed to fall for.
He looks at the baby.
He looks at her again.
"You adopted? Without asking me?"
"No, birthed him myself."
That baby is human. Fully human. There is no chance, in any way, that Ahsoka managed to have a fully human child. There's some shit about placentas or whatever. A tog can't surrogate a human and vice versa.
"Jetii--"
"Oh, I'm in trouble," she giggles, entirely too enthused about his annoyance.
"Jetii," he tries again, "please tell me you didn't steal a child."
"I did not steal a child," she confirms. "I just... acquired one."
"Acquired one."
"Yeah."
He waits in vain. He breaks and asks, "Ahsoka, how did you acquire this child?"
She smiles at him.
--
The child's name is Ferus Olin. He was not stolen, but given willingly by his parents for Ahsoka to take to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
"You could have just said so," Jango gripes as he fires up the engines. She laughs at him, and hikes the tot higher on her hip. "Don't act like it's not within the realm of possibility that you'd randomly pick up a kid and forget to warn me about it."
"Sure," she says, "but consider this: it was funny."
"You are not nearly as funny as you think you are."
Ahsoka rolls her eyes and addresses the kid instead. "What do you think, Ferus? Am I funny?"
The toddler--baby, really--stares up at her silently. There is something up with that kid, but Jango figures that's par for the course with Force Sensitives.
A slightly wet, very chubby hand lands on a lekku.
"That is saliva," Jango notes aloud, mostly because Ahsoka looks a little disgusted, and likes she's trying to hide it from the kid. "Baby drool."
"Oh, fu--shove off."
"Classy."
--
So like. Here's the thing. About carting around two almost-Jedi:
One of them is his age, and hot, and weird, and he's a little bit in love with her.
The other one is less than a year old, and should be relatively safe and sound to leave alone for five minutes while napping so they can do things like use the bathroom, or argue over the nav, or knock against the walls doing things that babies probably shouldn't know about.
Ahsoka says that Ferus was a rule-abiding guy in the future, uptight, even.
This means nothing, because the ship jolts out of hyperspace without warning while Jango's got his hand up a hot tog's skirt, and they both have to rush to the cockpit to find the literal baby has crawled onto the pilot's seat and somehow turned off the nav.
The baby continues patting, full-palm, at the controls.
"What the fuck?" Jango demands.
"Language," Ahsoka sniffs, and then picks up the baby and swings him around. "Who's a little troublemaker? You are!"
"What the actual--"
"Language!" Ahsoka snaps, a little harsher this time. "There's a baby."
"Yes, I noticed, it just knocked us out of hyperspace."
Ahsoka rolls her eyes. "It's fine. We just need to keep a better eye on him."
"This could have been deadly."
"Eh, doubt it," she dismisses. "I mean, with a normal kid, yeah, but I bet you ten to one odds that he did this because the Force told him to."
"I cannot explain how much that doesn't fill me with confidence."
She ignores him. She settles into the chair, toddler on her lap, and closes her eyes. This lasts for several minutes, and Jango tries to keep his impatience under control so he doesn't 'project' it into the Force or whatever it is that the Jedi are worried about. It would distract Ahsoka, and possibly more importantly, it would upset the baby.
"I've got it," she finally says. "A direction. He pulled us out a bit early, but the fact that we didn't overshoot it is a bit of a shocker in and of itself."
"A direction to what?"
She shrugs. "We'll find out."
--
The direction is to a fresh-faced teenage Duros by the name of Cad Bane, who's been floating around the guild's gossip lines for a few years now. He's good, for eighteen, but Jango hasn't met him before, and Ahsoka really doesn't like him--Jedi don't hate, supposedly--and that's enough for Jango to have zero interest in really networking here.
Also, Bane has a stolen toddler. Jango knows the toddler is stolen, because she's dressed in far-too-fancy clothes for Bane to bother with, and screaming her head off, and trying to bite him, and yelling about how she wants to go home. Surprisingly eloquent for a toddler, actually. She can't be more than four.
Jango wants to get involved. He's itching for a fight. He does not get one.
He gets the smaller baby, and is told to take care of said baby and be ready to catch the bigger baby--toddler--while Ahsoka handles the fighting.
It seems kinda personal. Jango leaves her to it. It's not like they need both of them to fight this literal teenager.
(He's right. They don't.)
--
There are now two small children on Jango's ship. One of them is barely-almost a toddler, and the other is barely-almost not.
"I am Padme Naberrie of Naboo," the little girl tells him, all care and important grandeur. "Thank you for saving me. When may I return home?"
Naboo. The noble kids from there are damn creepy. Also worth a good ransom or a better bounty, to some. It's not exactly surprising that Bane went for one of them. the family must be pretty influential somehow.
"Not sure," Ahsoka says. "We were on our way to Coruscant... do you have a number we can call? Maybe one of your parents can meet us on the way."
"That is ac-cep-table," the little girl sounds out. She even bows, a touch wobbly. "Thank you, Master Jedi."
Ahsoka is not a Master, and is only sort of a Jedi. She does not correct little Padme, because that would be a little mean, in Jango's estimate. The girl's just been through something harrowing, and even he's not that much of a dick.
"Do you know their contact info?" he asks instead.
--
They aren't on a convenient hyperlane for Naboo, so they're meeting Lady Naberrie on Corellia. It's several days there, which is still faster than trying to get to Naboo from where they currently are, and Padme spends an hour or two talking to her mother before the woman enters hyperspace and comms are no longer an option. Then she talks to her father, and asks about someone called Sola, and Jango's not paying enough attention to keep track of who's who in the life of a child that is not his.
He doesn't have enough beds on the ship for this.
He empties out a small armor crate and lines it with blankets, then sets it on teh floor by the end of his bed. It's big enough for Ferus, who probably doesn't care much for fancy things. Padme gets her own bed, because they're strangers and it would be odd to suggest she share with Ahsoka as a gender thing. The other, larger bed is then for Jango and his somewhat irritating and entirely too lovely Jedi.
He laces his fingers with hers, once they're in bed, autopiloting down the hyperlane. Padm's breathing has finally evened out, and Ferus hasn't woken up yet either.
"Do you want them?" he asks.
"Hm?" Ahsoka shifts, and when she speaks, it's sleep-heavy and muddled. "Want what?"
"Kids," he says.
She's silent, long enough that he starts to wonder if she's fallen asleep, but eventually she shrugs. "I'll take an apprentice one day, probably."
It's basically the same thing, for Jedi.
"Did I ever..."
He tries not to ask too much about his personal future. He knows how Galidraan would have ended, and knows that somehow, he had been involved in a clone army that tried to kill Ahsoka when she was seventeen. She tries not to tell him too much.
"One," she says. "Boba. A few years younger than me. And..."
She doesn't finish.
"And?"
"Maybe another time," she says.
He's gotten that response more than once. He knows it for the wall it is.
"Alright," he says. "You could... tell me about Boba in the morning?"
"Maybe."
Noncommittal. He's not entirely surprised.
"Okay," he finally says. He presses a kiss to her lek. "Goodnight, Ahsoka."
"Night, Jango."

procrastinating school work so let me talk about my starwars (Anakin) aus
There's that lion!Vader Au, if I named it I don't remember the name but basically, either Anakin doesn't tell Padme where he's going or she doesn't go to Mustafar. might actually have R2D2 with Padme as her bodyguard or Anakin just didn't want r2 to know what he did to the separatist leaders. anakin doesn't come back from Mustafar because when he leaves the planet, the force decides 'okay, enough atrocities for the next... two decades.' and transforms him into a lion and sends him to a green planet. Sidious finds him a year later and decides to just build a gladiator ring and throw him in there to execute the people he wants dead on television.
19 years later Luke, Leia, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Padme, Cody, and Rex all get captured and are sentenced to be executed as a group with some other non-important people. Anakin eats the non-important people and vaguely recognizes some but tries to kill Luke and Leia because he doesn't recognize them.
SITS au - sith in the senate au - me trying to explore my favorite arc (mortis) and what would have happened if Anakin left with the son (and the daughter) and the father let Ahsoka and Obi-wan go thirty minutes later but Anakin is nowhere in sight when they go back to the real world. this is also the au where the Tusken massacre is really addressed in this au, in others it didn't happen, obviously in lion!vader it did since it only changes in rots. i don't know if it's really a character study that I'm doing for this au but I'm actually writing an essay on Anakin for my writing class and I'm so using elements from this for that and from that for this.
(please- someone stop me from making Barriss run away from the Jedi and Anakin adopting Barriss after she ends up on Tatooine and Anakin gets over his initial feeling of 'YOU D:<')
14!au. i have no other name for it as of right now.
anakin gets found by Palpatine and Shmi dies (i think) but surely its not you Pal Friendpatine's fault :0
Anyway, Palpatine finds Anakin at like... 5 and adopts him and brings him on his path to becoming chancellor and then the clone wars start at the Naboo blockade, Palpatine started cloning **early**. no, I have no idea how old Jango Fett is, why do you ask? anakin befriends some of the clones and takes an interest in politics because he thinks he can convince then senate to stop creating clones and just recruit normal civilians to the army.
this au is inspired by Hazbin Hotel song 'you didn't know' and some brave group of clones tries to plead their case to the senate, ankin watches in on it, nala se mentions the chips in the kaminoan rebuttal of clone rights and Anakin FREAKS. palpatine tries to calm him saying 'they are to control them, they're dangerous otherwise' and basically dooms himself. also, Anakin specifically has wings. see, I subscribe to the thinking of 'Anakin can shapeshift due to his unstable DNA' Edit: I Found it! @thewildballyntynesgrow or mballyntyne on Ao3 with their series 'A Wild Thing to Tame'. Anakin leaves taking a majority of the coruscant guard with him and goes back to Tatooine and starts freeing a whole bunch of planets over the years. the meeting in the senate takes place when he is fourteen, the empire starts when he is seventeen. Anakin adopts Boba and Galen Marek. anakin and the freed outer rim either hide rebel bases or use their revolutions as distractions for the empire.
Retconned rebel Anakin Au. aka, Barriss is the same age as Anakin and befriends him and Ferus eventually befriends him, and Anakin is closer to those two and some others than Obi-wan and Ahsoka (who is Obi-wan's padawan) Barriss never bombs the temple, the empire rises but the original empire dies like a year into the reign and another emperor rises.... Emperor Obi-wan Kenobi and his daughter Ahsoka how are both overly attached to rebel leader Anakin Skywalker and are both trying to adopt him and turn him to their side... by kidnapping Anakin's family. (rexanidala). anakin adopts so many kids, most of them are force-sensitive and want to fight so he lets them reluctantly but those not young enough to choose or fight are sent to live with Rex, Padme, Luke, Leia, and their grandparents; Dooku and Plo.
Ventress and Anakin Swap au, sort of. anakin got nabbed from his mom by Dooku. Dooku never found Ventress, Obi-wan does instead. Obi does not train Ventress but they are friends forever after. ventress tries forcefully redeeming the seventeen-eighteen year old Sith lord and it only sort of works. he defects but really only after he finds out about the slavery in creating battle droids. Anakin isn't really a separatist general, he just has a specialized group of droids that he rebuilds after fights with Jedi. he never fights clones with droids.
after defecting Anakin plans with Ventress and decides to free the outer rim then take the former slaves that will join him and start up a third party to the war. inspired by 'blood oath' by the art of pleasing princes.
okay so for this next au, named Anakin Umakkar, The rain storm. sources are ADragonsFriend and @fialleril or fialleril on a03, and @clawedandcute or ClawedandCute (Adi_Fire) on a03. and songs this au is inspired by for this au is (and in order) Puppeteer, Done For, Hell is Forever, There are Other Ways, What Did I Miss? and Respectless.
Umakkar was a name I first read about in a book called 'Elder sisters' by ADragonsFriend. I first heard about Ekkreth in Fialleril's books. the concept of Anakin staying on Tatooine was inspired by ClawedandCute's book and au 'The Accidental Sith'
Anyway, Qui-gon and the queen's ship never stops on Tatooine, but the clone wars do not start early. a solid two months into the Clone Wars, it is revealed that Jabba the Hutt has been dead for a year, and Tatooine has freed itself from the huts. Senator Padme Amidala and Jedi Obi-wan Kenobi (and Padawan Ahsoka Tano) are sent to Tatooine to try to get Tatooine to align with the republic. now please listen to Puppeteer and Done For (no, Anakin does not turn any clones into pigs, just like any non-clone serving in the army ). once Obi-wan draws his lightsaber on Anakin, Anakin just swipes it away, unhurt, and has him and other... three (Cody, Padme, and Ahsoka)locked up until he decided to hear them out. (cue hell is forever, the last lines being, "the freed outer rim has found both the separatists and the republic to be the enemy" ya know due to their armies) then when it looks like Anakin is gonna do something to them to send a message to the republic, Obi-wan pleads with him and mentions the Sith Dooku mentioned and any evil smile on Anakin's face slips away into annoyance "Sidious, huh?" and in 'There are other ways' fashion tells obi-wan about Mortis and other wells in the force that might be better for the Jedi to focus at. when asked why he had that reaction to the 'Sidious' character, he implies that Sidious has reached out to him to join either side of the war, like once per side.
he sends Obi-Wan and the Clones that want to return on their way and a year later decides that enough is enough and heads to Coruscant under the pretense of negotiating. palpatine sets up a committee to welcome Tatooine to the republic only for 'respectless' to happen and Anakin starts arguing with Orn Free Taa, then Palpatine himself and once Palpatine leaves, turns to the Jedi in the room and says "yeah, you might want to look into that..." and leaves.
Detached Mortis god au: inspired by the ocean saga
switching up the timeline here, Rako Hardeen happens, the Wrong Jedi arc happens, *Then* mortis happens. Anakin is alone on Mortis, he decides to stay, Padme is pregnant, the empire rises, Padme survives and joins the rebellion, Ahsoka becomes Fulcrum. Obi-wan joins the rebellion to help train Luke and Leia. Luke, Leia, Han, Ezra and some others start on a mission, but it starts off rough. Ezra decides to pray to a Force Diety he or Ahsoka met once and the diety appears and decides to grant them safe passage to the actual start of the mission as long as they keep Ahsoka, who they meet up with later on the mission, safe. if they accept and fail, another god is going to have a really big problem with them. they accept and all goes well until the last day of the mission, everything falls apart and Ahsoka is separated from the group and captured. the gang decides they need to go back to base to think and plan. on their way back their ship is seemingly attacked but they cant tell by what, they crash land at base and get out of the ship, not the falcon, only to meet two dragon-like-creatures, and a portal opens and a very pissed Anakin steps out. he kidnaps a bunch of rebels and puts them in the world between worlds and tells them they only get their people back when Ahsoka is safe. Obi-Wan and Padme only make it to the hangar this goes down once Anakin has stepped back through the portal.

Secretly, I've been working on a project for myself that I wasn't planning on publishing for a while.
However, as I was working on it, and expanding on it after all these months, I had an amazing idea today. I'm already four chapters in and I'm so excited to get to the point where I can start posting it.
It's a revamped version of my first-ever fanfic.
The first version was so bad I deleted it years ago now. But I've been working on so many parts for so long that it's actually incredible that I'm finally finding a way to put all the pieces together.
I don't have a set timetable just yet. I want to finish a few more chapters and then I'll start posting week by week hopefully.
But still, I'm so excited!

Jedi June 2024
Tumblr media
A creative fandom event dedicated to appreciating the Jedi, taking place during the entire month of June! Each week will feature two prompts, around which people can create fanwork (of any kind – fic, art, cosplay, edits, anything you can think of) or meta focusing on the Jedi and the Jedi Order. All eras and continuities are welcome; OCs, established characters, doesn’t matter – it just needs to be about appreciating the Jedi!
Rules:
If you are participating, please tag your work/meta with #jedi june and/or @ this blog so that I will see it and reblog it here. All work must be your own. Feel free to crosspost it off-site.
This is an appreciation event, focusing on what we love and enjoy about the Jedi – not what we don’t. This is not the place to air your grievances with the Code, take potshots at the Council, prop certain Jedi/certain eras of Jedi up at the expense of others, or disparage the Jedi Order or their philosophy (including the concept of non-attachment) and way of life in any way. You are free to do that on your own time if that’s your thing, but it has no place within this event.
AUs and crossovers are allowed, with caveats: again, the purpose of this event is to appreciate the Jedi as Jedi, so sticking your favorite Jedi characters in something like a modern AU or making them all Sith or Mandalorian is not really within the spirit of this event. However, AUs such as making a non-Jedi character a Jedi, having a character survive their canon death, giving a character a different teacher or padawan, or killing Palpatine off-screen in an unspecified yet embarrassing and painful manner, would all be perfectly fine. Use your best judgement to determine whether an AU fits the spirit of the event or not.
Ships are allowed as long as they’re not between a child and adult, and following the above rules.
Please tag any spoilers up to two weeks after the relevant content has aired.
Following the prompts is encouraged, but not required. Any sort of pro-Jedi content is encouraged all year month long, and if tagged (and following the rules), will be reblogged.
We also have an AO3 collection!
Prompts:
Week 1 (June 2 - 8):
Prompt 1: Fun/Joy
Prompt 2: Comfort
Week 2 (June 9 - 15):
Prompt 1: Advice/Inspiration
Prompt 2: Balance
Week 3 (June 16 - 22):
Prompt 1: Art/Music
Prompt 2: Peace
Week 4 (June 23 - 29):
Prompt 1: Non-attachment/Letting go
Prompt 2: Cross-lineage mentorship
Bonus (any time):
Prompt 1: Eyes Closed/Trust in the Force
Prompt 2: Animal Friendship
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! I hope you will have fun participating!

Hardcore Pro Jedi people: «Anakin helped hunt down and kill the Jedi Order who were his family»
Me: Okay, that is the list of all Jedi Anakin have ever interacted with except Obi-Wan , Ahsoka and some characters like Vergere or Jax Pavan(who is stated to be his friend, but it is never shown)
Starting from the beginning:
Siri Tachi. Former love of his master and the master of his rival. KIA during the Clone Wars
Yaddle(Legends). Jedi Council member. Sacrificed herself in order to save Mavan cities from gas poisoning. Anakin blamed himself for it.
Ferus Olin. Friendly rival. Due to both of them acting like idiots on Corriban and causing a death of their friend by it, left the Order.
Darra Thel-Tanis. Friend. KIA before the Clone Wars, partly due to Anakin and Ferus not being able to put their rivalry aside for a freaking second.
Thru Veld. Former friend. They grow distant after Darra's death and never mended their relationship up to the Order 66.
Ry-Ghaul and Soera Entana. Masters of Darra and Thru. Did not have a lot of moments with Anakin. Entana was KIA during the Order 66, and Ry-Ghaul not so long after it
Jorus C'baoth. Not actually a normal Jedi, but Anakin respected him. Departed to the Outbond Flight where he perished.
Lorana Jinzler. Worked with him, but died after they separated and was considered MIA.
Luminara Unduli. Worked with him on Ansion mission, but however good relationship they have prior to Geonosis, Luminara by herself destroyed it when she suggested to abandon Ahsoka and Barris under the rubble.
Barris Offee. They were on friendly terms up to the time Barriss decided to become a terrorist and framed Ahsoka as guilty party.
Halagad Ventor. Were frinends, until Ventor refused to introduce Kharys to Order and belittled her with something she had no control over and attacked Anakin.
Jinn Altis. He consulted with him about joining Altisian community after the war, but nothing more, because canon evenets are obliged to happen.
Padawan Pack. His friends and battle comrades, with whom he generally had friendship and whom he geniunely mourned(a single person from all Order, no less).
Bhat Jule. Another comrade who died in Anakin's arms.
A'Sharad Hett. Not friends though, but he at lest managed to get Anakin cured of his rage and hatred towards tuskens(and also, after attacking him in the fit of rage and frustration, Anakin actually felt remorse).
Tono. Boxed for the sake of the plot, cause i hardly can imagine, why they couldn't send a droid with explosives to the generator. Another victim of the war and commanding officers stupidity.
Ki-Adi-Mundi. Was Anakin's temporary master after Obi-Wan was considered KIA, but also was the part of Jedi Council who decided it would be hella wonderful idea to sent a bunch of teenagers with uncompleted training to warzone. In the end, Anakin ended up a sole survior of this group.
And it's Legends. In current canon, he has even less social connections inside the Order and does not seem to consider it his community(no matter what some pro jedi fans say)
Tumblr media
They were not his community, the were nothing but his coworkers(at many cases) And i wouldn't even start with Jedi being goverment-funded organisation and not some harmless hippies or anarchist commune.
And also Anakin is not always guity party for everything that went wrong in their relationships(the sole exception is Olin, Thel-Tanis and Veld case).
Ki-Adi-Mundi(as part of Council) sent his friends to death and attempted to talk Anakin of searching for his master.
Ventor attacked him.
Luminara decided to abandon his padawan under the rubble.
Barriss betrayed Ahsoka's trust and nearly get her executed.
So, by the events of ROtS Anakin has nothing to reach for in the Order and in Legends canon, he actively plans to leave it after war. And at the same time, he doesn't have anybody in Order he can be truly open about his grievances and troubles and as his Padawan Pack friends and his former Padawan's cases indicate him, Order doesn't care about its members. So, he ends up unprotected against Palpatine's careful manipaulations(which wouldn't have happened if Jedi Order was such a good community as their fans paint it).
If one man does not trust his family and the said family is shown to care more about its public image than searching for truth and actually helping someone, it may be that the man is not one to have all problems here.

Rules: list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there's a pattern!
Tagged by @threebea!
I think I tend to lean heavily into either a curiosity-raising short statement, or more commonly, something that establishes context and how it differs from the canon/where or when it takes place generally.
Like slamming a map down on a table and planting a "You are here" flag.
They Went to Live on a Farm (Ahsoka/Rex ambiguous relationship, & Wolffe)
She comes to the planet on public transport, safer now than she has been in years. She pays for a ticket, and hardly worries about bounties or Imperial inquisitors. She’s outlived that regime.
Shmi Acquires Some Teenagers... Sort Of (Shmi & Obi-Wan & Satine & Jango)
Shmi is twenty-eight years of age when she is purchased from Gardulla.
This Child of Ours (Shmi/Mace pre-ship, Mace & Anakin & Obi-Wan)
Shmi has been alone for a very long time.
Familiar Face (Face Me Now) (Anakin/Jango pre-ship, Jango & Myles, time-travel)
Skywalker stares.
Small Talk (Fox/Anakin/Padme)
It’s not how Fox expected anything to go, honestly.
Aspire to Be (Aspire to Do) (Padme/Kryze)
Padmé Naberrie is eleven years old the first time she encounters Duchess Satine Kryze.
yeah these kids are totally mine (Ahsoka/Jango, time-travel, ft. toddler Ferus and toddler Padme)
"He's mine."
A Wedding Night to Remember X-rated (Shaak Ti/Jango, history/fantasy au)
Lady Ti is the eldest unmarried daughter of one of the twelve noble houses of the Jetii.
(We Both Know Why) You Come to Me X-rated (Fox/Anakin, Anakin/Padme)
Skywalker’s breathing is heavy.
Lazy Morning X-rated (Mace/Anakin)
Rebuilding from the hell that Sidious had left behind was exhausting.

That would be Ferus Olin, I still have one of the books where he was the protagonist, somewhere. Ahsoka was always crammed in very awkwardly into Canon, since there were plenty of Clone Wars stories set during all over the course of the war that showed Anakin never had a padawan. And not content with that, Filoni kept having her steal the arcs of better written characters, because God forbid Ahsoka not be the centre of attention.
Them: Barriss Offee becoming a terrorist is bad.
Me: Yes...
Them: ...Because she's Muslim coded.
Me: No.
People who believe in "coding" will grasp onto the thinnest straws to support their headcanons. She's an alien in a setting that has no connection to Earth, wearing black robes doesn't equal Muslim. Coding is literally just people going "This character has these stereotypical traits, therefore they are X coded".
Just be mad because they assassinated her character to prop up Ahsoka.

Granta and Obi-Wan trapped in a Sith layer together, maybe obi-wan gets cursed to not be able to leave the side of the first person he sees?
“If you're not very careful right now,” Obi-Wan says pleasantly, “I'm going to push you into the lava.”
Granta scoffs, though he maybe gives the long drop slightly more of a berth than he had planned to a moment ago. “You seem to forget that if I fall, you’ll be jumping after me less than ten seconds later, Kenobi, given that you're magically tied to me right now.”
“Yes, but they’ll be the most peaceful ten seconds of my life.” Obi-Wan’s grip on his arm is iron, a warning, and Granta wants to push, to prod, to shake through the defenses of the man who replaced his father as Qui-Gon’s perfect padawan, but—
“One would think you’d have more of a tolerance, given what you raised,” he says sweetly.
Obi-Wan’s mouth thins, but there's a light of desperation in his eyes as he scans the interior of the temple’s next room. “It has to be a lie,” he says, just a little ragged. “Anakin wouldn’t have murdered innocents.”
Granta snorts. “He confessed to it himself,” he says. There's a point where blindness stops being entertaining and simply becomes annoying, and Obi-Wan passed that point almost twelve hours ago. “Just before he tried to kill his padawan, his mission partner, and his clone squad, just because of a few visions.”
“You wouldn’t be calling them that if you’d been able to see them,” Obi-Wan says quietly. “The Sith ghost showed us the future.”
“My only future is revenge against the Order, and I don’t need to see that beforehand, since I’ll be bringing it into being shortly—”
A hand on his shoulder, a shove. Granta stumbles, jerks, but Obi-Wan’s iron grip doesn’t waver as he’s pushed out, off-balance and scrambling, held right over the open pit that glows with heat and a dull, angry light. If Obi-Wan’s hold slips even a little, he won't have a chance to save himself given how tightly his hands are bound, and the knowledge sends his heartbeat racing in his ears.
“Going to kill me like you killed my father, Obi-Wan?” he asks softly, despite the pace of his heart. Stone crumbles under his boots, and he jerks despite himself, staring into Obi-Wan’s face. Looking for that coldness that was in Xanatos’s eyes, the last time Granta saw him, because that’s how Force-users look at him—
But it’s not how Obi-Wan is looking at him. There’s anger in his face, grief, a regret that makes Granta seethe, but it’s there and unwavering as he meets Granta's eyes.
“Xanatos committed suicide,” Obi-Wan says, perfectly even, though the look on his face is anything but cold distance. “He didn’t want to face punishment for what he’d done, and he threw himself into what was left of the Sacred Pools. I wish I’d been able to stop him, if only for your sake, Granta.”
The words shake through Granta, twist the anger up into vicious, desperate knots. “That’s a lie,” he snaps, and some mad impulse has him throwing all of his weight back—
Obi-Wan wrenches him forward, twists them, shoves him up against the wall instead, and Granta's breath is knocked out of him on an awful sound. Obi-Wan is like a wall in front of him, though, and he twists but can't get free, gives up with a curse and just leans there.
He’s shaking, maybe. There's a tremor in him, something deep and desperate and cold, and Obi-Wan is the first warm thing in a lifetime, even if he’s a blind fool.
“Bastard,” he manages, but Obi-Wan breathes out, cups a hand over the nape of his neck, and Granta has to close his eyes, because everything is too much.
“It’s not a lie,” Obi-Wan says. “Though given that I've apparently been raising a Sith Lord, I understand if my certainty means less right now than if might otherwise.”
Granta snorts. Anakin is most definitely a problem they're going to have to deal with if they want to get out of this temple. Preferably before he kills Ferus and Ahsoka, since Obi-Wan is going to be all but useless at facing him. Ferus seems like the practical sort, though. Granta can probably get him to stab Anakin at least once.
“I have contacts on Tatooine,” he says, soft, almost a taunt for all it doesn’t have much will behind it. “If you’d like to know whether it’s true that he wiped out a whole tribe.”
Obi-Wan stares at him for a long moment, then closes his eyes. “I don’t want to,” he says. “But—I need to.”
Granta hates the Jedi. He hates their righteousness, their self-important nobility, their haughty dignity. But looking at Obi-Wan right now—
“Let go of me,” he says, instead of what’s knotted up and pulsing in his chest. “Or I'm going to assume you want to pin me to something solid and fuck me, and then I’ll be most disappointed by your prudishness—”
“Would that make you be quiet for five minutes?” Obi-Wan asks, exasperated. “Because if it will, I’d be happy to help.”
Granta opens his mouth, closes it, and then laughs. Not prudishness, then.
“I should have known,” he says. “Given how readily you drop your robes at the first opportunity.”
Obi-Wan snorts, but there's a curve to his mouth that isn't the pinched tightness of a few moments ago, and he prods Granta along with a slightly lighter touch. “I refuse to have sex in a Sith temple, regardless of the circumstances.”
“Then you shouldn’t have flirted with the Sith witch who cursed you, maybe—”
“I will shove you up against another wall,” Obi-Wan says, aggrieved, and Granta snorts and lets himself be pushed onward down the path.
