I was tagged days ago by @actuallyitsellie, but y'know, life.

So. Since I really just repurposed this blog when I came back to tumblr this year, my ACTUAL join date is sometime in Nov./Dec. 2009. I purged some stuff last week, so the earliest date I have is Dec. 7th, 2009.

But let's be more reasonable and accurate to 2024. My re-join date was: May 15th, 2024. I apparently did like 4 posts in February, but we're not counting those. This would make sense, given that spring semester would've been over and it was my birthday weekend.

For quite some time actually towards the end of the year, it sat between 750 and 800 and I kinda figured it had lost its momentum, but clearly people still love this one. Definitely the first time I felt like I "fit" in a fandom, too.

I still giggle when I think about this joke too.

There's still so much opportunity the writers have in this position, to work Tommy into previous stories, especially when we still haven't had their first meeting.

If the inevitable helicopter crash happens and we still don't get at least ONE "baby" or "honey".... I will riot.

i have no business writing a stupid post about the wicked movie because like! come on. we left cringey read mores in 2018 right? nope! wrong!!!!! my emotional support musical, MY blog!!

can safely say i had low expectations but like also there were 20 years of expectations buried within me so i was really hoping for something special ya know? and objectively i did have to turn off my musical theater brain because wHEW there were some choices and they were made and they should not have been....but! even if it isn't my favorite movie musical of all time (moulin rouge and mamma mia and les mis my beloved) i think this is quite literally the best we could have gotten for this musical.

and the thing that was sending me the entire time was like...the scope of this thing. like i have had the desire to watch a wicked movie for as long as i have cognitive thought honestly. since i was like eight or nine years old. i still remember being ten and dramatically sighing thinking ahhhh maybe one day i will get a wicked movie... and then time passed and i saw the show three separate times and i just kept thinking that maybe someday that dream would come true. so when i was watching it tonight it really was one of the rare moments where like i reached through the ether to younger me and was like WE MADE IT! WE ARE HERE! WE NEVER THOUGHT WE WOULD GET HERE BUT WE DID! AND IT IS GLORIOUS!

and it's like yeah so many of us have personal connections to wicked and it was very much a musical of my generation but i always forget that so much of who i am is built on this fucking show. it was the first musical i found on my own. it was the first show that i begged my parents to get me tickets for. it was instrumental in my upbringing and my inner life and i cannot separate parts of myself from the wicked musical because they've been connected for twice as long as they haven't. and at the heart of all of it is the person i shared it with.

it's funny because a lot of my friendships have bonded over wicked, and again, we all liked wicked growing up so it wasn't like i couldn't connect the female friendship show with everybody...but it did start somewhere. and that friendship has now been dead for almost twenty years. i don't think about her, i buried us a long time ago, and for the most part i don't think about what might have been because hey, it's over and i don't even think we'd like each other if we met each other now. but when i watched this movie, i was over-fucking-whelmed by her presence. and a younger version of me along with her.

she was galinda and i was elphaba and even though i didn't understand the deeper meaning and context of the show at the time, we still were just two bEst friends ya know? and so when the opening number started, my heart dropped out of my chest and i thought oh, there you are. i've missed you. where did you go? and when elphie and galinda had their special dance moment i was sitting there bawling, hoping even now that she'll see this same moment in theaters and that she has no choice but to think about me the same way i was thinking about her. that no matter what happened at the end or all the years and time between us, somewhere out there it's just the two of us at nine years old, singing these songs at the top of our lungs, making each other laugh without a care in the world.

and when elphaba asked glinda to come with her, i burst into tears thinking, oh, she left me behind didn't she. she didn't want to come with me after everything. and regardless of how glinda's character plays out in act two (gee, what could happen!!!) it still hit me that she had tears in her eyes as she helped her best friend fly.

as much as i thought about the person i lost, it also felt like such a privilege that i could reach out and touch the nine year old version of me. we don't have time machines but there is a red string of fate connecting who i am today with who i was back then, and i wanna tell her that we made it. when elphaba's falling and she sees her reflection...when she had her moment to sing the wizard and i...it's like no time had even passed at all. i was still singing in my childhood bedroom to my little CD alarm clock. and i was so terrified to be a person, so unsure of myself, so full of dreams. and i hoped that one day something would happen to me.

and tonight i sat there in a theater in a big city that i live in all on my own, next to a friend who cares about me more than so many of the friends of my youth ever did, feeling overwhelmed by the friendships i have now and the career i've built for myself and the person i know that i am now, less than six months out from turning thirty...and i got to hold hands with my younger self and tell her it's all gonna work out in the end. and that she should enjoy those sleepovers as much as possible. that just because glinda doesn't get on the broom with you, it doesn't mean you can't fly high on your own.

but god, i wish i could go back one more time. just to tell my person thank you.

(i do have to say......i live in fear for part ii...........there will be mass casualties, no one is going to survive that fucking film...whew.....)

chemistry by glovered: Jensen reminds himself that there's absolutely nothing wrong with a platonic jerk-off scene between brothers. And there’s nothing platonic about his feelings for Jared.

LOVE this one. supernatural gets cancelled after season 8 and is bought by HBO... and you can guess what happens next. it’s excellently written and super funny with angst to satisfy + characters that feel like real people (granted, slightly insane people. but those are the most fun.) jensen spends most of the fic having a small breakdown and it’s hilarious. this one is the closest to your prompt out of all of them, and i urge everyone who likes j2 to read it!!

BnHA Chapter 313: Deku VS Lady Nagant

Previously on BnHA: Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai Lady Nagant showed up to fire a cupid’s arrow into my heart, and a bunch of literal bullets into my son. Deku was all “oh shit it’s Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai, what do I do, let me think back to Hawks’s advice for a sec.” Flashback!Hawks was all “anyway Deku so if my super-hot badass murder senpai ever shows up you’re basically screwed so you’d better abscond the fuck out of there.” Present!Deku was all “lol idek why I flashed back to that conversation since I’m just going to do the exact opposite of what Hawks said” and charged directly toward Nagant because WHY NOT. Overhaul was all “waah I need to get back to my boss who I put in a coma out of love” and Nagant was all “jesus christ why did I even bring you here” and had a flashback to AFO who was all “ILU NAGANT IMMA GIVE YOU AN EXTRA QUIRK SO PLEASE CAPTURE DEKU FOR ME PLEASE AND THANKS” and yeah. Shit is all over the place right now and I love it.

Today on BnHA: All Might gets attacked by a pair of discount assassins and is all “Call an ambulance! ...BUT NOT FOR ME” and it’s really badass but also I really wish he would stop tempting fate like this. Lady Nagant is all “[casually flies around town shooting shit]” and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t read an entire chapter of just that. Deku is all, “[gets shot (≥_<)]” and releases a giant Smokescreen which prompts En to show up. En is all, “( •᷄⌓•᷅ ) (⌣̀ Δ⌣́) ( •̀_•́ )σ (¬､¬) (눈_눈)” which I consider to be a high point of both the chapter and of my life. The chapter ends with Deku using the Third’s quirk to launch a bunch of random objects at Nagant so that he can jump up and grab her arm all sneaky-like, and I’m sure this is going to prompt another week’s worth of discourse that I don’t care about at all, but fuck it, I’m having a good time.

OH WE’RE CUTTING BACK TO ALL MIGHT WELL THAT’S NICE I GUESS. CONGRATS ON NOT BEING DEAD

AHHHH I’M HYPED LOL. ANOTHER SHINY NEW QUIRK LOL SHOULD I PUT UP THE USUAL DISCOURSE DISCLAIMER

(ETA: so yeah, after thinking on it, I’m not gonna say “please no Deku discourse on my blog” this week, but I probably will ignore any discourse that does come my way though, just because I don’t have much interest in getting involved in what would probably be a pretty repetitive discussion. like, I can just sum up my opinions (which is what they are) here instead. in fact here they are lol:

1) I like the SIXQUIRKS and I like seeing Deku be a badass.

2) I also don’t think Deku is too OP. more like he’s exactly as OP as he needs to be at the moment, given that we’re approaching the end of the series. I expect the other kids will also be pretty damn OP when we see them fight again. we’re just at that point now where they’re all badasses (as well they should be; they’ve grown a lot and they deserve it). it’s just that Deku’s the one we’re getting to see right now.

3) of course I miss Kacchan and the others, but for me this vibes much closer to the MVA arc where even though I missed them, I was still having a blast (as opposed to the dark days of the Basement arc where I was pretty much losing it lol). like, even though Kacchan’s my favorite, I still love Deku a lot and this arc has been amazing for him getting to shine on his own (for like the first time, really).

4) y’all know I love the OFA plot and I’ve never been shy about that lol. I like all of the Vestiges a lot. Banjou and his over the top personality; En and his “guy you thought would be serious and :| all the time but is actually hyper-animated and ALL OVER THE PLACE” energy; Shiro who actually is a :| sort of guy lol; Three who I still expect will be fleshed out in a more detailed flashback at some point; and of course Two, who, well. you know what I think about him lol. Bakuverse is still on the table and I’m still hyped. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we still have yet to see Two actually talk to Deku (as opposed to talking to the other Vestiges while Deku is distracted). did he lend him his power yet?? or is he still holding out?? either way it’s definitely going to be a Big Thing when it finally happens and I can’t wait to see it.

5) Lady Nagant is Everything and just because Deku grabbed her arm doesn’t mean the fight is over yet lol. Overhaul hasn’t come into play yet either. not to mention that even if the fight is over, the “where do we go from here” part still has me excited either way. her connection to Hawks and the HPSC is very intriguing and we’ve barely touched on that as of yet; she definitely has more of a role to play in this.

6) last but not least, I feel like every week the discussion is all about how much focus Deku’s getting, and how OP he is or isn’t, and OFA this and OFA that, but meanwhile I’m actually so invested in the character development here though?? the way Deku has distanced himself from everyone (except for the Vestiges, because of course they’re already dead so it’s not like they can die again lol)?? the way he’s pushing himself far too hard and we can see the shadows in and under his eyes, and the fact that he never smiles, and even All Might has remarked on how he isn’t taking care of himself at all?? the fact that he’s so single-mindedly obsessed with focused on stopping AFO?? the fact that he’s still the same sweet old Deku despite everything and was so kind to that fox lady with the umbrella, but there was also something so sad about that scene because it felt like a reminder of the type of hero that he wants to be, but that he’s not allowed to be right now?? because the stakes are too high and the world is falling apart?? and he feels like he’s the only one who can do something about it?? and that he has to be?? and that he is putting so much pressure on himself right now, and it’s absolutely too much pressure for any one person to bear, and I feel like no one is fucking talking about this lol goddammit.

anyway so yeah. I have feels about this, and every week that slow-burn angst is getting more and more intense behind the scenes, and I feel like it’s all going to hit a breaking point eventually. sooner rather than later. it really feels like a mirror of Katsuki’s post-Kamino arc. where all that angst was just churning below the surface for like twenty chapters and then it finally was like “okay it’s time” and it all came bursting out and we got the best five chapters of the fucking series (in my admittedly biased estimation lol).

basically, I know that most of fandom is billing this as either the “villain hunt” arc or the “solo Deku SIXQUIRKS fighting arc” or whatever. but for me, it’s always been and still is the Deku Angst arc lol. the cool fights are a sexy bonus (the worldbuilding less so because even though it’s interesting to see society at such a low point, it’s also very depressing and gets old pretty fast), but for me the thing that’s really keeping me engaged chapter after chapter is seeing Deku like we’ve never seen him before. seeing him all quiet and withdrawn and brooding and focused on AFO, AFO, AFO, and seeing that “he just doesn’t take himself into account” mentality taken to extremes. I am invested in that. I’m soaking up that angst each and every week, and I’m invested in seeing what comes of it. it’s a big picture thing. week to week this arc might just seem like a bunch of villain fight scenes, sure. but Deku’s emotional journey is the thread that’s going to carry this arc through from beginning to end, and for that I’m willing to be patient.

anyway that turned into a BIG OL’ RANT there but yeah! so those are my thoughts on the disk horse as it currently stands. and like I said, I’m open to discussion, but tbh I will probably just wind up repeating these same talking points endlessly so just a fair warning lol.)

anyway so Three says Deku has yet to use his quirk at ALL but now he’s trying to combine it with another quirk?? damn. also please check out En’s face here you guys

Hi! I'm @coffeewritesfiction and I'm gonna take you up on that "tell me about your WIP" thing you mentioned in your intro. Welcome back btw! Good to have you here.

Okay so, my story is called Black Velvet It's mostly on my sideblog runner-owen rather than my main blog because... I don't remember why I did that honestly. Anyway! It's a queer gothic fantasy story, set in a Victorian inspired world of eternal night, with a trans man protagonist. His name is Owen Rosedown, and he's a member of the Theria Runners' Society, a guild of detectives for hire. He works with the Knight Hunters, who protect the city from danger (or are supposed to at least). He was hired by Lord Aurum Vim-Calyx, the current leader of the Knight Hunters, to help deal with the looming threat of evil vampires, specifically Aurum's arch enemy, the vampire god known only as the Scarred Man.

So in Black Velvet, Owen and Aurum go on a mission to retrieve a journal supposedly owned by a vampire tactician who lived in Black Velvet Castle centuries ago. However, when things go wrong, Owen is given the blame and ordered by Aurum to stay at Black Velvet until he finds the other journals. This is believed to be an impossible task, one given to Owen out of Aurum's anger. However, after a powerful storm breaks, the Scarred Man and his allies take over the castle, intending to kidnap all the humans to the vampire territories, including Owen. Especially Owen, who the Scarred Man has always desired . Now it's a race against time for Owen to find a way to defeat the vampires and escape before the storm ends. And the key to their escape is in the journals of the Tactician...

Okay omg where to start. WORLD BUILDING! I'm so interested in a world of eternal night. How does that affect the flora and fauna of the world? Are there different animals/plants than in real life? Would that mess with the food production? Are humans constantly Vitamin D deficient or did they evolve past that? If there's no day, what regulates temperature? Is the sun still there, but hidden, is there magic afoot, geothermal energy, something else?

You say Owen works with the Theria Runner's Society and the Knight Hunters. Do these organizations have connections beyond Owen? Do they normally work together, or is there a rivalry between the "protectors" of the city and the detectives for hire?

What kind of crimes does Owen usually investigate? Theft? Homicide? Terrorism? Domestic violence? Stalking? Etc. etc.? How do you write "deal with the threat of vampires" into a contract? Is Owen the only one Aurum hired? If so, why Owen, when there's a whole guild of detectives?

WHICH BRINGS ME TO - the Scarred Man apparently wants Owen specifically?? I'm so intrigued by that. What's special about Owen? What is he hiding?!!

You say the Scarred Man and allies take over the castle - does this mean that, despite it originally being a vampire castle (I think? a vampire tactician lived there), it has since been taken over by humans? or did the vampires leave and humans just squat? How many other people were there besides Owen when the vampires invaded? Was there a society living there, with families? If so, would Owen feel beholded to protect those families/help the others escape the vampires, or is he more concerned with his own mission? Both options would make interesting characters!

Okay "vampire tactician." What does that entail? What did they conceive tactics for? War? Invasion? Politics? Magic? How could the answers inside help reckon with current-day vampires? Does the Scarred Man still use those tactics?

Hey i really love your blog!!! I just plucked the courage to actually send u an ask fhdjhd but GOSH i love your video edits and your gifs and your meta article posts, you're so articulate and you can explain/describe moments in a way that makes me go "oh wow, i cant believe i haven't seen it that way before!!" Haha ANYWAYS i'm just here to say that i completely agree with what all u said, Free creators might do a lil fanservice here and there for the 25 ships that exists within the fandom's circle, but rinharu's storyline is clearly the most romantic one! And i'd argue it's the one closest to being canon esp after part 1, i mean the fact that they put such an explosive emotional outburst right at the end of the second to the last movie means a lot. It's like reinforcing the fact that this series has always been about them, and everything that has happened only happened either because they met or they grew appart and miss eachother. I kinda feel like maybe.. juust maayyybe there's a chance KA wants to make the ship canon, since it's the last movie and they want to end it on a highnote maybe (bcs honestly i think the only reason they've been holding back is purely bcs of the merch sales, since they don't have a problem showing a wholesome lesbian love story in kobayashi maid dragon) butt i could be wrong, maybe i'm just overly optimistic and delusional, they could somehow ruin it and give an ending that panders to all the ships again 😅🥲, but at least there's a clear-cut guarantee that part 2 would dedicate a large portion of it fixing rin and haru's fight!!! Oohh how can i wait another 6 months now!!😭😭 (sorry for the long ask btw!! 🙏🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️)

Well, you know me, I only care for one ship, which is the only one with confirmed info that they're both actually gay and have mutual feelings for each other. There are some other ships in free! I'm fine with (those do not include Rin or Haru in them xD), but I just mostly don't care, bc after reading all the stuff, you can see that in some of those to one the other one is actually like his second option, which I just do not like. Others I just don't even see, bc again to me who witnessed great close male friendships and having two sisters who I'm very close to, I just do not see anything romantic in that.

It's not just Free! tbh, it's like any sports anime these days. They see two guys walking together, it's a ship. And like no one cares if they're just bros. Like I'd get i they did some fanservice fanservice, but like I never saw anyone in Free! crossing the line the way rinharu do. I can without thinking much name you 10 rh moments that no matter how hard you think can't be explain as being bros, but can't name one when it comes to others. I just find some ppl shipping everyone with everyone weird sometimes. It's like western fans see like some eastern actors or singers slap each other ass lovingly and they're like "oh they're fucking" I'm like "yeah, ofc all 500 of them, you're absolutely right". And Free! doesn't do anything even like that, I just do not get sometimes like what moment even brought on some ships. I'm genuinely confused. Albert and Haru? You fucking fell from a sakura tree or smth? I'm...

I'm especially confused when it comes to guys, whose character type is who I call "I only want this one and if I can't have it, then I'm ok" xD. It just always surprised me, when they try to pair up them with someone else, it's like a complete ooc.

I'm also not into this whole "well, if there are gays in this anime, than everyone there is gay". I'm like... huh. It's like with KNB and MDZS I had same feeling. It's like you have already couples there who are canon/borderline canon, why do you need another 10 who don't even interact or just don't even go there? I'm always so confused in those situations. Or like wangxian is married and some are like "no, I actually don't like it, let me write a fic when they're with other ppl". Lan Zhan... being in love or having sex with someone else? Yeah, that's not Lan Zhan, dude, you're writing about someone else. Might as well change the name at this point.

But last time I went to twitter someone had a thread about how if they make s4 of Free! they should mainly explore there Momo's angst (and no, it wasn't a joke), so I'm already like, I'm just.. nothing will surprise me no more. But I'm forever gonna be confused.

Yeah, I eel you about "going there". I mean seeing part of it, it just kinda cemented my confusion, bc I do not get how it can be considered platonic. We were just discussing since yesterday with @freeseafirefly how I now even more perplexed and do not understand how they will resolve it without going into relationship territory. It's just our point here is that like... no one forced them to go there (I mean its not like this whole fandom has some wild expectations or anything already), we were waiting or our usual friendship and swimming and maybe tiny conflict about struggles of pro-careers and some usual rh implications (maybe all the rh gay in dramas as always). Not some pure fanfiction coming to life here haha.

Like why I'm laughing is bc I twice used in my "fics" bringing up him leaving Haru as a force to push the confession, bc there's no way if he adresses this it won't lead to this. And now we not only have this (bc Haru just basically layed it out there), but an actual scene of him playing on their feelings for each other and a literal image of Rin leaving and "taking Haru's heart with him" to the point when he's for the first time in his life openly crying on the ground. And it's not like this scene can be interpreted as anything else, the whole fandom talks same, bc the whole fight was just about them, what Haru said was just about them, there's a literal boom of his heart getting out of his chest, before he falls and now he's heartless.

So our question is like... why go there?

It's like some say that they might still resolve it with "they're special to each other" and swimming, but still like we already knew that, there was no reason to go that far is what I'm saying. And to think that it was planned since forever giving the clues is like... ???

The whole spoon theme also throw me on the loop because like, lets be honest, it's wedding themed. And that part of the interview about part 2 there also made me go...?????? Because I mean, huh?

This is just all in all very interesting turn of events to say the least. I do not see the point of all of this if its not what I think it is, esp after seeing tweets like "even I see a rh wedding and I'm mh T_T". It's just all very unsubtle, that's why we're confused.

Like who knows, maybe we'll really by some magic turn of events get lucky and they really decided that since its the ending, it's okay to go for it. But I also don't wanna to hype myself much, I'm already really happy with it, just bc again, this scene already proves all of my points.

And yeah, I'm sure they'll pander to everyone, bc it's the end and etc and we have to handle everything on the good note and there's a whole line of ppl who's obsessed with us, esp with Haru xD, but like bromance pandering and romance pandering are different things, you know *wiggles eyebrows* and u know who always gets the second one.

This Shimage took me so long to make, but I wasn't disappointed! I love it, and not just because it shows off that Phat SHASS, but because I remember the feeling of creating someone I knew people would absolutely despise adore, and the relief after it was finished. I'm not the most creatively adept, so making this and it turning out not bad actually felt great! Also that bout of Shassposting was a good era.

My personal favourite Shimage. I rememeber when I finished it back in the day, and similarly to Thicctushy, I thought I did a mighty fine job! "People were going to hate love this one", I thought! And they did! One of my more "popular" posts and the one I always think of when I think back to the early days of this blog! The Shoker truly is my number one top Shimage of all time!

angelicstrwbrry's 2k21 year in review >♡<

on March 14th I officially signed away my soul and caved to become an anime blog. the day prior I wrote [for the first time in a while 😭] and basically broke up with my harry potter phase that had conquered my entire personality on this blog for 2 years. and since that day I have been a Haikyuu blog!

When I joined the Fandom I was welcomed by some amazing writers, making me feel more welcome to be an aspiring writer. and although sometimes the writing was cheesy as hell 😐 and the themes were....questionable 😋😋 [basically when I didn't have my sibling helping me]. you have all supported me so much!

about the time I switched blogs I had just reached the 200 follower milestone. and that took me about 2 years to achieve. now at the time of writing this I have 495 amazing supporters. truthfully you all have meant the world to me and I can't explain how much it means to have you all. the past few years have been shit for me but having a support system this amazing hasn't gone unnoticed [seriously- my therapist knows about yall 😭😭] thank you all <3 I love you and I can't wait to see how we grow together <3

I am a frequent reader of your blog, but I never had the courage to interact. but I feel that now is the right moment for me to say thanks for everything you have helped me :) sorry if my english is weird, i'm still not confident enough to write this message just with my knowledge, so i'm using google translator.

I've been creating stories and characters since I was 16 years old, it became a frequent habit of mine after I went through some trauma during my childhood and early adolescence. to this day I feel insecure about saying this but, I was (and still have) a lot of interest in dark content, it made me comfortable and less paranoid about the abuse I suffered and the constant fear that this would happen again, since I never had permission from my family to seek psychological help (I live in a very isolated city in my country, here they are very religious and mental health is not important at all) for a long time I felt disgusting and believed I was wrong when I consumed this type of content, even more so because there were many destructive criticisms about who created and who consumed this content. I spent 3 whole years feeling awful for feeling better consuming dark content, until I found your blog this year. you never seemed to care that other people found your type of content wrong, you were never afraid of being exposed to other people's hatred, you always wrote so naturally, knowing very well how to differentiate fiction from reality, it was a shock so big for me at first, I really couldn't understand how you had such courage to post such things, especially knowing how people treat others when they don't follow the standard of "morality" they impose on everyone, but then that this initial shock passed, your blog ended up becoming a place of comfort for me. I always read all of your content, whether it's just an idea from some anonymous person you've decided to interact with other thoughts or a character's yandere profile, any notification from your blog already makes me very happy !! I feel that I am not alone, I feel that I am neither wrong nor immoral to seek this content. and while this doesn't compare to the psychological help I really need, it's still better than being totally exposed to my self-deprecating thoughts about the things that happened to me. and also because of you now i feel much more comfortable not only consuming this kind of content and understanding that there is no problem with that, but also writing dark content without being afraid of other people's hate :)

I just wish you knew that many other readers also feel the same way as me, don't be sad with hateful comments because know that you help a lot of people !! <33 I just wanted to share this, sorry if it got too big . . .

Honestly I've seen so much drama across different fandoms I've been in over the years, none of that really bothers me anymore, I know that most people who freak out over content like this are usually just choosing to be mad when they could easily just block and move on, so I don't get really bothered by it.

But I've gotten so many messages that are all so nice too and that's just?? Ahhhh I never thought I'd actually help people in any way with this and it makes me so happy to know I have <333 I hope this blog can continue to be a source of comfort to you!! That is my goal :3
