PORTUGUÊS "América" não quer dizer só Estados Unidos; mas é este continente! Agora muitos latinoamericanos estão sentindo o que nossos países significam para os imperialistas. Por isso neste desenho quis levantar a América Livre! Eu gosto de por o Sul pra cima. Neste desenho, o lobo-guará mostra os povos indígenas da América Latina, eles que são os donos originais desta terra e que cuidam das florestas; o gato preto representa as pessoas pretas que vivem aqui e que trouxeram sua cultura ancestral para nossa cultura atual; e o coelho está no lugar dos campesinos, porque fazem a nossa comida, e lutam contra os latifundiários que queimam a mata. Eu não falo quíchua, mas procurei em livros e dicionários pra escrever "qispi Amirika". Se você falar quíchua e eu tiver escrito errado, me avise, por favor!

Exaltemos la Patria Grande de Latinoamérica y nos ayudemos mutualmente cómo una familia. ¡Por eso en este dibujo quise levantar la América Libre! Me gusta poner el Sur hacia arriba. En este dibujo, el aguará muestra los pueblos originarios de Latinoamérica, ellos que son los dueños originales de esta tierra y que cuidan nuestros bosques; el gato negro representa a las pesonas negras que aquí viven y que trajeron su cultura ancestra para nuestra cultura actual; y el conejo está en el lugar de los campesinos, porque hacen nuestra comida, y luchan contra los latifundiatios que queman la selva. No sé hablar el quechua, pero busqué en libros y diccionarios para escribir "qispi Amirika". Si hablás quechua y cometí algún error, ¡decime, porfis!

ENGLISH "America" doesn't just mean the US; but it's this continent itself! Now many Latin-Americans are finding out what our countries mean to the imperialists. Thus I wanted to say in this drawing Free America! I like to put South upwards. In this picture, the maned wolf shows the indigenous peoples of Latin America, who are the original owners of this land and who take care of our forests; the black cat represents the black people who live here, who brought their ancient culture to our modern culture; and the rabbit is in the place of the peasants, who produce our food and who fight against large farmers who cause forest fires. I don't know quechua, but I searched in books and dictionaries to write "qispi Amirika". If you speak quechua and I made any mistake, please let me know!

I've made this post before but it's really awful that the Aguará Guazú or Lobo Guará has this reputation as the Lobizón/Luisón (you could call it the South American werewolf, they are Tupí legends syncretized with European conceptions of werewolves, quite interesting), people used to kill it and some still do because of that idea.

There's also this misconception that they are predators. In reality, Aguará Guazú or Guarás eat mostly fruit, in particular Solanum lycocarpum, which is so associated to it that it's called Lobeira in Portuguese, and small rodents and birds at most, it's not a hunter at all. It's a weird but shy animal and certainly not a threat at all to humans. It's strange to think that people would have such a poor view of it.

I love my little guy, if you wanna call him by his superiorly cool name, it's "Aguará Guazú"!! It's in guaraní, and roughly means big fox. I love this little shy guy :)

Shoutout to the maned wolf, which is technically neither wolf nor fox but has its own genus called Chrysocyon! Why -
