Universal Studios Singapore 💛

Going to amusement parks is probably one of my favorite things to do! The escape from reality, the fun atmosphere, the cool rides, the themed food, everything just makes me all happy inside! With such a colorful place to visit, I decided to match its vibrant character with a colorful ootd. Keep reading to see how we spent our day in Universal Studios Singapore, and some tips on what to wear when going to a theme park. 🌈

DAY 3: June 22, 2017 (Thursday)

Probably one of the attractions I was most excited to go to (I'm such a tourist HAHA), was Universal Studios Singapore. I mean, how can you not get excited to go to a place where some of the greatest movies will come alive, right?

Tellemaywhy Tip! We decided to go to USS on a weekday to avoid the horde of tourists that usually go on weekends. (actually still pretty crowded even on a Thursday, what more if on a weekend?!) Only con for this though is you won't get to watch the fireworks & lights show.

As you enter the theme park, you'll be greeted by the Hollywood stretch. Buildings here are mostly shops.

We went counter-clockwise and went to New York first.

A DEFINITE must-watch, Lights, Camera, Action! (Hosted by Steven Spielberg), the show takes you behind the scenes of what goes down when they film a major hurricane about to hit New York City. Got totally blown away (and splashed on)!

Then, something for my baby niece, we rode Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. T'was totally cute and very fun for the kids (and kid at heart)!

And yeah, took a lot of photos here with my ootd, 'cause I just felt like being a Brooklyn girl here with my outfit and all! 😉

So I mentioned that I created this ootd with the intention of matching the theme park's fun atmosphere, with fun colors.

Then tied it all together with this cute pair of white sporty shorts from @Wear.Shibui.

That looked extra fetch with these socks (not to mention matchy-matchy because of the black stripes)!

Y'all have to remember that going to theme parks can get a bit hot and humid, with all the lines for the rides and squishing in between other tourists.

So it's good if you can also wear something fresh and breezy like ya girl gone did. 😜

I'm like, "where my homies at?"

And like, "'Sup?"

When you see a cutie, "Heyyy boo!"

Or when someone wants to cut in line in front of you, "Bitch Imma cut yew!" jk HAHA

Who says Gotham has to be all dark and gloomy all the time?😜

Doesn't matter what you're wearing, as long as you're feelin' yo' self, you're bound to have a great time! 💖

Next up, Sci-Fi City! Definitely two of the most popular attractions, the TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle and the Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster which has 2 options, the Human (red) track and the Cylon (blue) track, the latter being a bit more daring as it's the one that has your feet hanging!

We then marched on to Ancient Egypt. Revenge of the Mummy rollercoaster was really cinematic ('cause it was indoor and there were lots of special effects inside!). The Treasure Hunters ride was slow-paced and kid-friendly.

We then had a hearty lunch in Jurassic Park's Discovery Food Court.

Ready for more fun, we then went to watch WaterWorld, a death-defying live show with awesome explosions and stunts! It was really heart-racing!

After that, we then went to Far Far Away.

Of course, some picture taking in front of the castle was in order. ✨

Oh don't mind me, just being extra, as usual. 😂

We watched Shrek 4-D Adventure, and rode the Puss In Boots' Giant Journey and the Enchanted Airways rollercoaster.

Tellemaywhy Tip! We then went back to the entrance to take photos with the Universal globe (as requested by my sis) because it was too crowded in the morning. It was already around 3PM, and true enough, it wasn't as crowded as before.

After being satisfied with our tourist shots, feeling peckish, we had merienda at Mel's Drive-In in Hollywood.

The place is just too cute! Loving the 50s 60s vibe!

Ohh I just have this huge thing for neon signs! 😍

Also feelin' like being at Pop's in Riverdale.

We then went back to The Lost World to explore the place. Rode the Canopy Flyer and Dino-Soarin'!

Did some souvenir shopping at night. Really loved the Hollywood and New York parts because of the neon lights!

T'was a fun-filled day of being a kid! 🌈

Color My Life With The Chaos of Trouble

For the longest time my Instagram feed has been the most boring feed everrr. From a consistent pastel peach feed to an almost black and white one, I’ve always struggled with trying to balance between keeping the pictures cohesive and posting the pictures that I actually liked.

Now I’ve decided to just wing it. I still try to plan the pictures I’ll post but I will no longer restrict myself to posting just pictures that are against a white wall. Nor will I use just one filter in VSCO just so that the pictures look the damn same. 

My closet used to have just black and white but since college I’ve learned to embrace color into my life (and cabinet lol). And I think my social media platforms should show that. CARPE DIEM, BABY

Delivering you with some ultimate, neglected high school detention drama in the mid 80′s.

Have you guys seen The Breakfast club? Well if you already did, this is sorta... Inspired by it? Maybe? It’s not actually like their outfit or something but the vibes itself.

That bench and those criss–cross thingy caught me and my old school self responded with an old school outfit habit that I’ve always been kickin. If you’ve been reading here, you’ll get it. Maybe its my wishful thinking of what if I’m living on a different era or maybe just I’m an old school rebel.

That scenery really talked to me, the vibes were really dreamy. *at least for me* there’s this football field where the jocks play and you’re just supposed to sit there because you’re asked to. Drinking your large soda with some nachos and hotdogs, wishing your crush from the field look at you. Yeah, the dream.

70′s, 80′s, and 90′s are my biggest influence when it comes to everything. I like their vibes. It’s so easy going. Sometimes its bold. Its different. It’s like being unprepared yet it kicks ass. It doesn’t give any rules, you can snatched everything in your closet and put it all together and it’ll look good. Maybe that’s why I snatched that shorts I’m wearing.

Those pants were my daddy’s old shorts way, way back when he was around high school or college. I’m really glad he kept it because i love men’s walking shorts *insert the shy emoji* It’s a good way that not only you can wear your mom’s, sisters, brother’s or boyfriend’s clothes, you can also wear your dad’s. Hahaha! Instead of going with mom jeans, these months its been a thing so making my way the other way around, I’m kicking my dad’s closet.

Be the BEST you this 2017. Here are some tips from ya girl who’s also still finding herself.

We’re 2/3 done with 2017 and it’s been a pretty great year so far! I don’t necessarily make bucket lists every New Year, ‘cause I just get disappointed in myself whenever I don’t accomplish them tbh. But what I do is, I promise myself that this year is going to be better than the last, and consciously make an effort in achieving that goal.

First of all: LOVE yourself!

Always have time to pamper yourself. You can get so exhausted from your work or acads, that you sometimes forget about taking care of yourself. Have a quick dip in the pool! Get the perfect tan! Refresh your mind and body.

Refresh yourself with some thirst-quenching Sola Iced Tea!

(Or treat yourself with an hour of Game of Thrones and order in Jollibee) The important thing here is: just forget about everything else! Your rested self will get a lot more work done compared to your overworked self.

Tip number 2: Be EXTRA.

Extra, in terms of the millennial language, “going beyond what is expected from you”. (Hindi yung extra-extra ka lang diyan sa gilid HAHA!)

Have a project in mind? Planning to start on your own business? Have a new crush dream to pursue? What do all of these have in common? You have to do your research and be extra!

You have to do your fair share of work in order to achieve great things! Nothing big ever came easy.

While doing research, how ‘bout snack on some guilt-free California Crunch? Yum!

And lastly: Go OUTSIDE of your comfort zone.

Don’t get too comfortable on where you are now. Life is all about growth! Learn a new language, join a charity or organization you believe in, travel to another country by yourself and learn about their culture!

But going outside of your comfort zone doesn’t necessarily mean, grand gestures. Never tried eating in a restaurant or watching a movie by yourself? DO IT! Or buy a small plant(and have something that’s totally dependent on you HAHA)!

Afraid life may give you some lemons along the way? It’s up to you how you can turn them into your advantage and become sweet lemonade!

And while we’re at it, have some sweet Stellina's Lemonade to perk up your day!

We’re in a constant struggle in finding ourselves. But I don’t think we ever really do find ourselves, because “finding” is too passive of a word for us humans. It connotes that we just “happened upon” this life we’ve been living since day 1. That’s why I think we should create ourselves and everything we believe in.
