Y/N, a Deadpool variant, slides up to Daisy…
Y/N: hey gorgeous you seem stressed. what do you say you and me find a quiet place to help you decompress?
Daisy: Pool, you realize the risk right?
Y/N: what risk?
Daisy: if you give me too great of an O, I might kill you with my powers.
Y/N: if I died making you feel like you hit cloud nine, that would be a worthy death!
Daisy rolls her eyes and drags Y/N somewhere a little more private

Fandom: Marvel
Day 1 Prompt: "It's not too late, let's go."
Summary: The scene with FitzSimmons and Garrett on the Bus at the end of Season 1 if, instead of FitzSimmons, Grant had found and captured his long-time best friend, partner, and girlfriend.
Word Count: 4,158
Category: Angst, Fluff
Warnings: Mentions of abuse. No depictions of it, but the mention/realization that a character has been abused in the past, while staring at/standing in the same hallway as the abuser.

This had to be a nightmare.
With each step I took, one foot in front of the other, I willed myself to wake up, to realize everything had just been a bad dream. And with each step, I was forced closer to the realization that my situation was heartbreakingly, terrifyingly real.
The past week, I'd had a line of similar thoughts, hoping and praying that the fall of SHIELD and the betrayal of my best friend and boyfriend, Grant Ward, had been some insane fever dream. That I'd wake up in the med pod on the Bus, the team happy to see me awake, and that I'd realize everything had been some horrible concoction of my imagination instead. But just like now, I'd been forced to come to terms with the fact that I was wide awake.
First, I thought the nightmare was Hydra's infiltration. Then it became Garrett, Grant's mentor and basically surrogate father, being a traitor. Then it was discovering Grant was a traitor. Now, it had reached a whole new level, as Grant frog-marched me toward the Bus that he and Garrett had taken over, my hands tied behind my back and his gun forcing me to keep moving forward.
"Grant... what are you doing?" I breathed, trying to keep the tears out of my voice as we neared the ramp of the plane. Garrett had taken things over in the name of Hydra, and he clearly had some hold over my boyfriend. Every step towards that ramp lowered my odds of making it through this.
"We can't have SHIELD following us, that's all," he said. He kept his voice level, trying to convince me he was being reasonable, like I'd heard him do with our enemies on missions countless times before. I shook my head.
"You are SHIELD, Grant," I said. "Please, please remember that."
His grip tightened slightly on my forearm as he led me to the base of the ramp, a comforting squeeze more than anything threatening. A week ago, it would've put me at ease.
"I'm not the man you think I am," he muttered. I sighed heavily through my nose, a little bit of irritation finally flaring up.
"I know you better than anybody else on earth, apparently including you," I huffed. Grant didn't respond.
As soon as we entered the garage bay, where Lola used to sit, Grant and I were flanked by three other agents, who followed us up the stairs. Grant moved ahead, leading me through the physically wrecked and shattered hallways of the plane we'd spent a few, blissful months calling home, and my heart squeezed tight in my chest. How had everything gone so wrong?
"Here she is, sir," he said, and a second later I saw John Garrett's stupid, shitty face staring back at me. I narrowed my eyes and scowled, unable to contain my hate and anger enough to keep a neutral expression.
"What's the matter?" he asked, his tone light and teasing in a way that made my blood boil. "Cat got your tongue?"
"Maybe I've just got nothing to say to you," I replied. He had the nerve to laugh.
"Well, that's fine then. I don't know that I have much to say to you either, especially now that you're here. Thanks to Ward, you won't be much of a problem for me anymore."
Over Garrett's shoulder, I saw Grant's expression flicker and shutter. Like a kicked dog, caught between someone he loved and someone who scared him. An anger I'd only ever felt when our enemies threatened Grant welled up in my chest.
In my entire, almost fifteen-year career at SHIELD, I had managed to get through it without killing anyone. Ever. Even before I had the Icer to knock enemies out instead of shooting them the old-fashioned way, I'd made a point of using non-lethal force. It mattered to me; it felt important to find a way to do my job without killing people in the process.
Grant had never had the same reservations. It didn't bother me, and although we'd talked about it once or twice, I'd never expected him to take up my same system when we'd been partnered on missions, when we'd become good friends, or when we'd started dating. Time and again, he'd gone to the mat for me, tearing apart anyone that existed as a threat to me with a force I'd never have imagined using.
For the first time in our lives, in our decade and a half of friendship, the tables had turned.
Thanks to the rest of Coulson's team, I knew John Garrett had significant organ failure. A Cybertek device in his chest was the only thing still keeping him alive. He'd abused Grant for longer than I'd known him, and for the first time, I could see clearly how it affected Grant, in real time. For both our sakes, I couldn't let this go on any longer. I didn't know if it would kill him, and I still hoped it wouldn't, but for the first time I didn't care enough to make sure it wouldn't. I needed to get away from Garrett, and more importantly, I needed to get Grant away from Garrett. Even if it was for just a few minutes.
The Bus's engines whirled outside, and I felt us lift off the ground. An added complication, for sure, but not enough to change the plan I'd just formed in my head. I took a deep breath in and out, steadying my heartbeat and readying myself for the action ahead, like Grant had taught me years and years ago. Then, I jumped as high as I could, bringing my handcuffed hands under my feet and around to the front of my body as I did. Before anybody could register my movement, I darted forward and struck Garrett in the chest as hard as I could, putting all my weight and momentum behind both of my hands.
Garrett went down like a sack of bricks. He doubled over, gripping his middle as he groaned. I brought my knee up and hit him again before anybody could stop me, and then I took off running through the familiar passages of the jet that I used to call home.
"Garrett!" I heard Grant cry, distress in his voice that sent a pang running through my chest. I ducked around a corner at the sound of thundering footsteps behind me, and soon the agents that'd followed Grant and I from the minute we set foot on the Bus came rushing into the small common area in front of all our bunks, one room over from Garrett and Grant.
I heard shouting from the other room, and Grant's voice faded as he told Garrett to wait just a second. I tried to keep a piece of my attention focused on that while I engaged the three agents who'd decided to chase me. Even with my hands tied, they weren't much of a match for me.
I wrapped my arms around the neck of the one who'd come in last, using him as a human shield against his friends as I held him in the sleeper hold.
One by one, I worked through my three assailants, until they were each unconscious on the ground. As soon as the last one was down, I paused to tune back in to the goings-on in the other room, and heard Grant's voice as he assured Garrett that he would live. Apparently Cybertek was preparing to treat him in Miami.
I made the quick decision that I had enough time to make sure these three wouldn't continue to be a problem, so I dragged them into my old bunk (right next to Grant's) and then wedged a loose piece of the dining table's structure into the door so it couldn't open again. It likely wouldn't hold them for very long, but it was better than nothing. I took a few extra seconds to wrestle out of my handcuffs, my mind working as I did.
With Garrett and his three goons incapacitated, I had decent hope of getting Grant alone. I heard Raina, an inhuman we'd been struggling with, promising to stay in the room with Garrett and keep him safe. And then, I heard Garrett's voice hissing at Grant, barely above an ugly whisper.
"I need you to put her down."
I straightened, hands on my hips as my handcuffs finally dropped from my wrists, and frowned. There was no mistaking what he meant, but I couldn't imagine he actually thought he'd get very far ordering Grant to kill me.
"What?" Grant's voice, barely louder than Garrett's. I shifted a little closer to the doorway to hear better. "No. There's plenty of time. I won't leave you."
"And I'm telling you to cross her off for me. It's not a weakness, is it?"
The silence seemed to stretch for years. Then, finally, Grant's voice:
"No."
I turned on my heel and ran.
The nightmare continued, apparently, as the man who'd saved my life more times than I could count anymore had apparently just agreed to be my murderer. I couldn't believe he'd actually go through with it, but I also couldn't believe he'd entertain Garrett to this point. I couldn't take any risks, not now.
I slid down the ladder between the sleeping compartment and the cockpit, landing in the maze of pods in the hull just as I heard heavy footsteps overhead. My heart started racing in my chest, a fear like I'd never felt in all my near-death experiences at SHIELD gripping my chest.
Grant wouldn't actually kill me, would he?
I darted between the pods, and just like in a horror movie, I heard Grant's voice call out my name from behind me. I sped up, finally ducking into one of the pods and locking it behind me as I heard his footsteps closing in. My hand slammed on the locking device and it turned from green to red just in time. A second later, Grant appeared before me, his hand on the glass separating us.
"Open the door," he said, his eyes locked on mine. I could only see one of his hands, and my heart raced in my chest as I realized the other was likely level with his hip. I took an involuntary step backward.
"Grant... you're scaring me," I breathed, tears at last rising to the surface and threatening to fall. I'd fought them back once, but this time, I didn't think I'd be able to.
"Y/N, just open the door."
"No. I heard what you said, I heard what Garrett said. You... you wouldn't actually kill me. Would you?"
He grimaced, his jaw setting in the expression I recognized as him dealing with something he DID NOT want to deal with. My heart broke a little more in my chest.
"Just open the door."
"No! Grant, are you kidding me?" The tears were coming now, streaming down my cheeks, and I stepped towards Grant again, pressing up against the glass to get as close to him as possible. "I love you! You're my best friend, you're my partner! You're supposed to have my back through anything! I... I'd started daydreaming about marrying you! About the two of us, having the SHIELD careers recruits would be hearing about for the rest of time, before finally retiring somewhere nice together. Every time I thought about my future, Grant, you were in it... and now I might not have a future because of you? Are you kidding me?"
His expression flickered, and he couldn't keep some sadness and regret off his face when he looked at me through the glass this time. The tiniest spark of hope fluttered in my chest. If he felt bad, maybe I could still talk him off the ledge. Maybe I didn't have to lose the love of my life.
"I'm sorry. I tried to tell you... I'm a bad man. I'm not the man you thought you fell in love with."
"Bullshit!" I cried, slamming my fist into the glass in front of me. Grant jumped a little, surprise registering on his face. "You are exactly who I think you are. I know you, Grant, I've spent the last fifteen years of my life with you. Garrett may think he knows you, but he's wrong. He knows who he wants you to be. But I know who you actually are."
"You don't-"
"The sugary, caramely coffee drinks you secretly love but refuse to let anybody else but me know you drink?" I said, interrupting him with a hand on my hip, my eyes locked on his. "How invested you got in The Circle when I made you watch it on Netflix? All the time we spent planning what our strategy would be if we ever went on the show together?"
He grimaced, but I didn't give him a second to respond.
"The face mask you did with me that you loved, and all the stupid pictures we took together with the masks on? Your aggressive hatred of the Patriots even though you're from Massachusetts? The fact that you sleep best with a sleep mask, and that you have to take your socks off right before you get under the covers? Not a moment before, and definitely not after? All of that shared history, all of those things we've shared and that I've gotten to see, and you think I don't know you?"
Grant just stared at me, looking at a loss for words. I let mine hang in the air for a minute, then continued.
"I highly doubt John Garrett could list even one of those things. And those little things that you do every day, that you can't fake? That's you Grant. I know you. I know you've saved me more times than I can even count, from the demons in the real world and the ones inside my own head. So I get that Garrett's got you believing you're some kind of secret evil supervillain, but I know enough to know how ridiculous that is. You're the best man I've ever met, Grant. Please, believe me over that piece of shit upstairs that never cared enough to know the real you."
Grant still didn't speak for a few long moments, but this time, I just let the silence hang. I held his gaze, the tears having finally stopped. I didn't wipe away the remnants as they slowly dried on my face. Finally, Grant sighed, breaking eye contact to look down at the ground before returning his stare to me.
"And how exactly do you see this going?" he asked, his voice low. He'd leaned in a little, like we were co-conspirators, and I swear I felt a weight lift off my chest. The glimmer of hope had turned into a full light. "What do you expect to happen next, after all this? Don't tell me you still see a happy ending, with us retiring after full careers at SHIELD."
I sighed through my nose and rolled my eyes up to the ceiling, before fixing Grant with a look. He raised his eyebrows, and I had to fight back a laugh, mostly at the relief for that small moment of our relationship back to normal.
"Well, no, I don't think that's in the cards anymore," I deadpanned. "But the only important part of my vision of the future has been you, Grant. I don't care if we get mentioned in SHIELD classes years from now or if we're labeled as failures, examples of what not to do. All that matters to me is you."
He stared at me for a few more long, silent moments. For most people, he would've been unreadable, but I recognized the slightly-wider eyes, the deer-in-headlights look he got whenever I admitted big feelings that he didn't expect me to share. It was a good sign, and when he swallowed and cleared his throat, his expression had all of the grim defeat gone, replaced instead by a shaky hope.
"So what are you suggesting?"
"I'm suggesting we run," I said simply. "It's not too late, let's go. Let's ditch it all, and go somewhere we can start a new life together. Screw Garrett, screw SHIELD, screw Hydra. All that matters is you and me."
Grant stared at me like he didn't believe I was real. Slowly, swallowing heavy again, he nodded. I raised my eyebrows and smiled.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," he finally managed, nodding again, more sure this time. "Yeah, let's do that. You're... you're all that matters to me, too."
My small smile broke into a full-on grin, and at last, I hit the lock on the door. I slid it open the moment the lock flashed green, darting forward to close the space between me and Grant and wrapping him in a bone-crushing hug. I buried my face in his chest, and after a moment, he wrapped his arms around me in return.
"Well. I guess she was a weakness."
Grant and I's heads snapped up in unison to find John Garrett standing just down the hallway from us. I narrowed my eyes. Of course he'd picked this moment to show up.
Grant stiffened under my arms, and I could feel the stress radiating off of him. Garrett took a small step towards us, but I didn't dare move, lest Grant feel anymore trapped than he already did. Besides, holding him tight in a hug we'd shared during and after a thousand traumatic experiences felt like the best leg up on Garrett I could get.
"Agent Ward, I didn't train you to be a pushover. I trained you to be a man who could go in and do the job that needed to be done," said Garrett. "It's not too late. You don't want to disappoint me, son."
At the same time Garrett's words washed over Grant, he took another step closer, and his hand flexed at his side. Grant flinched under me, and I saw red.
In almost fifteen years, Grant had never flinched. Not like this. When something came flying at his face? Sure. When an especially good jump scare happened in a horror movie and he tried to hide how badly it had scared him? Always. But when someone stood apart from us, subtly threatening him? Never. Not once.
Garrett had clearly manipulated him, badly. I knew that. Throughout the course of this interaction, I'd assumed Garrett had crossed the line into mental abuse, too. But now, I realized it had gone even further. To mental and physical abuse. Garrett had hit Grant enough after Grant "failed" him, that my boyfriend, who'd stared down some of the scariest people in the world without fear, stood next to me trembling, caught between a rock and a hard place.
"Think things through here, Ward," said Garrett, continuing his slow walk towards us. "Either you kill her, or I do. Weaknesses are unacceptable, especially now that we've come out of the shadows. A happy ending doesn't exist to this love story that came from your lies at SHIELD. So don't be stupid, son. Don't make this worse on yourself than it has to be-"
My hand moved before my brain actually registered what I was doing. I grabbed the gun out of the holster at Grant's waist, the one I thought he might've decided to use on me only about ten minutes ago, and I levelled it at Garrett. I was aware enough to realize this wasn't an Icer; this had the ability to do lethal damage. And for the first time ever, I decided I didn't care. I shot John Garrett in the chest, twice. He dropped to his knees, the life quickly fading out of him, leaving a crumpled heap on the floor.
The gun fell out of my hand and clattered to the ground, my hands were shaking so bad. I dropped to my knees, a wave roaring in my ears as I stared at Garrett's dead body. Vaguely, I registered tears streaming down my face. What had I just done?
A second later, Grant dropped next to me. His arm wrapped around my shoulders and pulled me to him. Not only had I just killed someone, I'd killed someone important to Grant. In front of him. His abuser, yes, but that wouldn't make it much easier to watch the man he thought saved him die before his eyes.
"Grant... I'm so sorry," I breathed, the words coming out broken around sobs and gulps for air. I shook my head and buried it into his shoulder, the reality of everything washing over me again and again, like waves pounding into the shore. "I can't believe... I just killed someone. I'm so sorry, I... I've always found another way. Always. All life is precious and important, but he was just so rotten- And he was hurting you- I'm so sorry."
I broke, words failing me as I shook, sobbing, head buried in Grant's chest. He wrapped his other arm around me and held me tight, which only made me feel worse. We stayed like that for a few moments, until I finally got a hold of myself enough to look at him. His eyes remained on Garrett's broken form, and it felt like a punch to the gut.
"Grant... how can you be comforting me right now? After what I did to someone you care about, I-"
I broke off again, the words turning into choked sobs as I ducked my head back into his chest. I squeezed my eyes tight, waiting for Grant to come to his senses enough to pull away. Instead, he sighed, and pulled me closer.
"Come on, is that even a real question?" he asked, his words as shaky as both of us combined. "The same way you forgave me for everything I did. I love you. And... if you, of all people, decided the right decision was to shoot John Garrett? ...Well, I don't know. Maybe he was having a worse impact on me than I realized."
I cried harder at that, relief and sadness and a thousand other emotions that had been warring in my chest all day coming together to be processed as one. After a few moments, I felt Grant's shaky breathing and a few drops of wetness on the top of my head as he cried silently with me. Grief for a lot of things gripped us both, but at least we could cling to each other.
A few long minutes later, we finally pulled apart and helped each other to stand. We were both still shaking, and I did my best to stand between Grant and Garrett's body. It felt wrong to keep my back to Garrett, to let myself avoid facing what I'd done, but I just couldn't make myself do it.
Wordlessly, we wandered back up to the main level of the Bus. Raina still waited here somewhere, but we didn't see her, and we didn't seek her out as we headed for the cockpit. With a few looks, we both knew exactly what we wanted and needed to do. I held Grant's hand tight in my own as we had the Quinjet set down immediately, in the middle of a field in Oklahoma. Neither of us wanted to be on board a second longer.
We walked out of the cockpit and towards the ramp in the back, avoiding any of the cargo bay where so much had happened. We found Raina in the living room, but she didn't try to stop us. Hand in hand, Grant and I walked off the ramp and out into the field. A moment later, the plane took off again, continuing on its original course and leaving us behind.
Grant tugged me closer to him and wrapped an arm around me, and we leaned on each other as the plane disappeared into the sky. Both of us still shook a little, and we were each the only thing keeping the other standing. After a minute, once the plane completely disappeared from sight, Grant spoke in a quiet voice.
"So... what do we do now?"
"...I guess we just start walking."
I looked up at him and our eyes connected for a few moments, holding each other's stares and trying to promise the other that everything would be okay. With Garrett gone, now more than ever, there was nothing stopping us from leaving all the hurt and bad memories behind, and starting over somewhere new. With any luck, Raina would tell people we were dead along with John Garrett, and that would be the end of our involvement with SHIELD and Hydra.
For now, though, none of that mattered. All that mattered was the man standing beside me as we turned, our backs to the plane and its path, and started walking towards our new future, hand in hand and one foot in front of the other.

Inspired by: Agents Of Shield 2x21/22
Dry pastel lit color faded between the clouds, as the soft yet grime shades filled the room.
The air thick with dust and the distant sound of wind howling against the cracked windows. A mild, yet faint screeching pierced the silence, mingling with the rhythmic dripping of water somewhere in the shadows.
The autumn chill that sinked though the cracks of the door made its way towards her body, responding her eyes to slowly flutter open. She squinted her eyes turning her around to see the area she was set in.
Confusion wrapped around her like a mask; the last thing she remembered was sifting through the scattered remnants of an old agent’s life in a deserted apartment, searching for files that could’ve been used for other purposes.
It was darkly and dimly lit when she made herself present in that apartment reaching for the last lines of the forgotten report, hearing a soft thud, a shadow looming behind her—then nothing.
Amelia blinked, forcing her mind to piece together the fragments, but all she grasp was the nagging dull pain against her neck. Her fingers twitching waking themselves up only to hit a wooden board. She glanced down to noticed her wrists were against a table, yet her ankles were tied backwards to the chair.
She tugged against the restraints, but they held firm, the rough fibers biting into her skin. Panic clawed at her throat as she took in her surroundings: the rusted beams overhead, the scattered debris underfoot, and the faint light filtering through the grime-coated windows.
With every strained breath, the cold air seeped deeper into her bones, heightening her senses. The screeching outside grew louder, mingling with the pounding of her heart.
Just then, a door creaked open somewhere in the warehouse, and her breath caught in her throat. Amelia huffed and winced catching sight of who it was.
Grant Ward.
Following behind him was Agent 33, Kara Palamas, an a former SHIELD agent. Her was brain given some deep suffering, due to memory loss from Daniel Whitehall and of course she was helped afterward, tested by Fitzsimmons, then she left again. More or less…
Tumblr media
Grant smiled sitting across the table from her. One of fingers lightly pushes a strand of hair away from Amelia’s face to see her clearly. Grant will never admit it but he didn’t like having her kidnapped, but he needed SHIELD to reveal any information that had on the Projects and Daniel Whitehall.
Amelia was one of SHIELD most well known and possibly active agents they had. According to the rumor mill she was loved and appreciated, having help put The Young Avengers together, being his co-captain in the very beginning of Coulson’s team back in 2013 and the list went on.
But he knew that Amelia Parker only scratched the surface, of the people she was surrounded by. He knew that none of the recruits and so-called friends truly cared for her, watched her six. If they did care, they would’ve found her by now. Hell, Agent Hill was the one who pushed her senseless into being the agent she was today.
The poor workaholic agent who was pushed to the brink of it all, making the choices to see the good in others and step in to put herself in danger for the sake of the people around her.
For the sake of the mission.
Pushing down all the hurt and blame for her own sake. Taking the hits, making the kills and watching the ones she cared for suffer.
All Grant wanted to do was keep her safe, have her join him in the mist of SHIELD’s fall back in 2014 and live on the run. But she refused to stay with him.
Because her loyalty was too high and her trust in others were on the balancing act of being destroy right before her eyes.
And yet, here she sat in front of him, her own green eyes staring right into his brown ones.
“Hi baby.” He said in a calm low tone.
She held a tight calm smile as she responded, “Hi.
“I’mma cut to the chase. You do know why you’re here, right?”
“Cause you miss me, hon?”
Kara, who was standing a few steps behind Grant, crossed her arms and held back a scoff at her remark. She knew the two had history, which annoyed her completely.
“Miss you? That’s a bold assumption,” Kara shot back, forcing the humor even as her pulse raced slightly.
Grant leaned forward, the smile fading as he studied her. You’re in a warehouse, tied to a chair. I don’t want to play games, Ames.”
Kara shifted, her posture rigid as she eyed Amelia. “You don’t have to protect her anymore, Grant. She’s not one of us…”
“Not one of us?” Amelia echoed, the bite in her voice sharper than she intended. “You think that just because you’re playing for a different side now, it makes you less of a traitor?”
Kara bristled, but Grant raised a hand, silencing the tension in the room.  “This isn’t about sides,” he said, his tone even but strained. “It’s about information. SHIELD’s been sitting on something big, and I need you to help me find it.”
Amelia’s mind raced at the thought. The thought of betraying her former team sent a chill through her. “And what if I refuse? What makes you think I will help you?”
He leaned closer, intensity radiating from him. “Then you’ll stay here. And trust me, we both know I always find another way to get what I need. But it won’t be pretty for you.”
“Is that a threat, baby?”
“Call it a promise. I said don’t ever want to hurt you, Ames, not again, but if it comes to it, I will.”
Amelia’s eyes fell of Kara and exhaled, “And her?”
Grant noticed her gaze and leaned backwards. His expression turned serious as he said, “Kara, is none of your concern.”
“Liar. What is it that I did that so wrong to her?”
Kara shifted and met her gaze, leaning forward with a slight glare. “You know what you did, you're responsible for my kidnapping, you and Wallace had my location rigid and led me to Whitehall. When I did escape, Marlene and the others were late to get me back to base. I was tortured and enslaved for what felt like ages!”
Amelia’s eyes darted as she shifted, trying to stand up from her chair. She snarled, “The location was rigid to begin with! It wasn’t mine or Melissa’s fault. It was none of our faults!”
“Then apologize!”
“For a miscommunication? I did weeks ago!”
“It wasn’t enough.”
“..why have it be just me? Not strap Melissa or anyone else to a chair?”
Tumblr media
That’s when Kara allowed a small smirk to appear on her face.
“Because. Melissa will just give me a snarky remark and scream, she’s not trained for the physical and mental discomfort across the body. But you are.” Kara explained to Amelia.
Amelia’s eyes darted back to Ward with a warning tone. “Grant.” She muttered.
Grant stood from his seat and grabbed a device from the wall as he contained the explanation to a minimum, “We’re using you as an advantage here, Ames. If we want SHIELD to give us what they want as well and see a piece of them crumble, why not have one of their finest agents be the representation of it all?”
“Which means?” Amelia asked.
“We will keep you here.” Kara said, “In result, disorient the other agents such as Melissa, Marlene and your precious boyfriend, who I bet has no idea that your gone, into running around in rampage looking for you. The more pain you inflect, will give the others no choice but to give us the information needed.”
Amelia’s heart raced with a mix of fear and defiance as the words hung in the air.
She scoffed as a small smile broke across her face. A shake chuckle escaped her hips for whatever reason. “You’re both just petty and delusional.” Amelia remarked. “Even if it I am not found by them, and I’m tortured. You realize that The Young Avengers will get concerned and try to find me, right?”
Grant crossed his arms and shook her head, as he strapped a wires and tightened the chair a bit more. Beforehand, he used anesthetic to remove any sensation of pain from Morse-Parker, however the sensation of the shockwaves and needles will be an unbearable pain, hitting her body all at once.
Kara claimed to many beforehand, that was the pain she felt when she was harmed by Whitehall and when she regained control of her mind once again.
When no one answered her remarked about The Young Avengers—Liane, Rick, Rochelle, Cole and the others—would grow panicked and try to find her, it was a clear as day response. They were too busy and selfish to care for others’s turmoil to save them. Kara and Grant convey that answer by just exchanging a glance at Amelia.
Amelia's heart raced, a mixture of defiance and dread coursing through her veins. “You really think that will work? You’re underestimating them.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm, masking the worry gnawing at her.
Grant tightened the straps, his brow furrowed with frustration. “It’s not about underestimating them. It’s about making them desperate.”
Kara’s smirk faded as she stepped closer. “You think they care enough to risk everything for you? They’ve got their own battles to fight. You’re just a pawn in this game, Amelia.”
The weight of her words hit harder than any blow. Memories of laughter and camaraderie flashed through Amelia’s mind, but the shadows of doubt loomed larger. She shook her head, unwilling to let them see her falter. “You’re wrong. They won’t stop searching for me.”
Grant leaned back, arms crossed, his expression unreadable. “And if they do find you, what then? You think they’ll storm in here and rescue you? They don’t even know where you are.”
Kara stepped closer, her voice low and chilling. “They’ll waste time chasing ghosts, and by the time they figure it out, it’ll be too late.”
-----
A silence fell, heavy with unspoken truths. Amelia felt the chill in the air deepen, a reminder of her vulnerability as the hours went by. She felt herself growing hungry and weak by the second, as her eyes tried their hardest to not give into the weight and close themselves.
Deep into the night, the weight of Grant and Kara’s words hit pierced harder than any words. Every moment spent in the room, tied to the chair, her wrists trying to wiggle out of the restrains and the needles digging into her fingers send an engulfing pain across her body. The wires sending shockwaves through her body, were just as bad, she could practically taste the metal in the air, under her skin.
Amelia was on the brink of giving into the pain and torment, that she was lost caused. She wasn’t going to be saved. That Kara and Grant were right. She was fool to think SHIELD and The Young Avengers—her friends—would care to save her. To release any evidence in hopes of having her come back to them.
That loyalty and trust that tied her to her team was slipping between her fingers.
She could’ve sworn she heard typing of a laptop and invoices being messaged between the two in another room, whenever Kara or Grant weren’t inside with her. She could hear Grant’s low murmur, the occasional sharp retort from Kara. The sound of certain agents from the messages, such as Marlene, her voice was faintly heard, so was Melissa. A flicker of Jeremy’s tone of voice and a few others that she didn’t quite recognize.
She wondered if Jeremy was negotiating a deal to the data on Whitehall or some kind of information in general. She wondered if Melissa trying to relocate the trace of the phone's pattern to her location, or maybe Marlene had just threaten to murder Ward.
Gods know what the others on the line must've been discussing.
However nothing from The Young Avengers.
Tumblr media
As for their mouths moving? Conversation between the three echo though the warehouse, a mixture of screams, snarky remarks, and words that were sharper than a knife. Grant was one of the few people, who knew her better than anyone, he had a hand in training her and sense her downfall from a mile away.
He knew that she knows that there was no one coming from her. And if they did. They would be too late, suffering the lost of someone who they assumed, they care for deeply. It was a twisted symphony of betrayal and desperation that echoed around her, each note driving the point home: she was alone.
Speaking of echos being said, at one point, when Amelia refused to once again to apologize to Kara, the closure to heal according to Grant, the brunette slapped Amelia across the face before she walked around the chair with a wicked smirk.
“If you want a nice view of my ass, sweetheart, that will be...” Amelia said in a slight witty tone, however her voice trailed off, hearing the sound of fabric and a wince of a blade, “..what is she doing?”
Grant didn’t let her swift her neck around to see the damage about to inflect upon her, instead snatching her chin under his fingers, forcing her to face him. For a fleeting moment, his gaze softened, a hint of regret flickering in his brown eyes.
“You don’t have to do this, Ames. We can work this out—” He said in a soft tone.
“No.“ Amelia cut him off, her tone resolute, almost shaking in a hush tone, “Not like this..”
Before she can even repeat her words, a sharp passing of a knife slide across the back of her knees, her inner knees, as she let out a deep whine. She squeezed her eyes and gasped breathing heavily, her chest rising and fall, due to the action taking place. Her eyes water as she gulped, catching Grant’s gaze as she tried to wipe her face towards Kara.
Amelia’s breath came in ragged gasps, the pain radiating through her legs, refusing to show weakness, however it was clear. Grant’s grip on her chin tightened, his gaze searching hers for a flicker of compliance.
Kara stepped closer, a glint of amusement in her eyes. “You really think you’re in control here? You’re tied up, and your friends are miles away. This is your reality now.”
Amelia felt the weight of her words sink in, but she wouldn’t give in just yet. “And if I break? If I give they what you want? What happens then?”
She shrugged, a cruel smile curling her lips. “Maybe we’ll let you go. Maybe I won’t. It all depends on how entertaining you are.”
Before Amelia could respond, Grant’s expression shifted, a flicker of anger crossing his face. “Enough, Kara. This isn’t a game.”
Kara rolled her eyes, dismissing his concern. “Oh please, Grant. You’re not her keeper. She made her choices.”
Amelia’s eyes flickered between the pair. Despite Grant’s protectiveness over her, he was true as day that he cared for Kara just the same. He may claim to still love her, but his heart had made space for Kara. She scoffed, honestly, with how delusional they both were, they desires each other.
“Choices?” Amelia scoffed, her voice steady despite the pain. “Um, I didn’t choose to be here, and you know it.”
Grant’s jaw tightened, a mix of frustration and a hint of guilt flashing across his face. “I didn’t want this for you, Amelia. I wanted to protect you.”
“By letting Kara and yourself torture me?” she shot back, her gaze unwavering. “You’re not protecting me, Grant. You lied to me once, you’ll do it again.”
He always said that one thing, she will understand everything he ever done, but she won’t. One look from Kara and Grant, and she realized she was more than a pawn, in this sick game. She’s the queen. The moment she decide to cooperate or her teammates come and find her, give them any information about Whitehall, the game changes.
If she might even survive this.
----------------------
The hours went by, no help, no hope of salvation—none.
It was hopeless.
She whimpered and winced, gasping for air as her fingers were being pierced by needles and her body was attached to the wires from earlier. She has been yelled at, bleeding and bruised.
She was purely shaking at this point. At least she was able to convince Ward to release her ankles for some breathing room. However, she was cold. From her feet to her toes, despite the clothing she was wearing, she was feeling the air bouncing against her skin.
As she wiggled her wrists against the restraints, searching for any weakness, the faint sound of footsteps approached. She held her breath, heart pounding, readying herself for whatever was to come.
The door creaked open, and Grant stepped inside. He paused, meeting her gaze with a mixture of concern and resolve.
“You okay?” he asked, a hint of sincerity breaking through his hardened facade.
Her voice was slightly shaky under her breath, “Is that even a question?”
“Ames.”
“Not even close, and you know it.”
“It’s gonna be a long night, I knew you’ll be tough. Coulson’s got an eye for talent.”
“So did you..”
Tumblr media
He sighed, his harden facade slowly returned, as a tone that was undoubtedly unreadable appeared. He sat down across from her. Her breathing was deep and hitched, her glares softened ever so slightly, before slowly hardening once again.
“You and I are a lot alike, Ames.” He began, his voice simple yet smooth. “Emotions buried deep inside where nowhere will ever find it.”
She shook her head lightly, “Why’s that? Because you know me very well?” “Because the reason why you kill and fight and recruit others..it’s not because you feel it’s a duty.”
“It is..you caught onto that lesson very early on. Being pushed to the prime level, because it hides whatever uncertainty you have..”
“That’s what you think? Are you referring to me or yourself?”
Amelia paused remembering a conversation she had with Skye involving the context of Ward. He kills because of his emotional attachment and his desire to help, not just for his own desire but for a gain.
But there was something more to that.
After a moment Amelia said under her breath as she admitted, “..it’s not because of nothing, or that it’s a duty to serve..it’s because you feel too much..i feel too much..”
Grant watched her eyes gearing up, the shift in her eyes, at the realization. The pain, the despair, the suffering, the repeated questions and conversation. It was like memories flashed—every laugh, every time she was snapped at, every snarl or glare, every moment of believing in trust and faith—it all came crashing down upon her.
The right push and she can be forced to see the truth, even if she denied it. Hell, the words that Amelia said hit Grant as hard a brick. It wasn’t false, he did care, sometimes way too much. But like he said, he buried it deep, to save himself the heartbreak and torment.
However he did say if Amelia didn’t corporate, or if SHIELD didn’t release information on Whitehall, he will do a certain job. One that she has seen done before..
Tumblr media
“Baby, listen to me.” Grant said, bringing her back to the moment holding up needle in-between his fingers. “Kara needs closure. Your teammates are already suffering with no idea where you are, thanks to Kara. But you, just admit you betrayed her and we can end this.”
She scoffed, “You’re such a hypocrite, you know that? Betray her? Honey, may I remind you that you betrayed your whole entire team! You betrayed me.”
“For the—! For the hundredth time, I was loyal to Garrett, not HYDRA!”
“For the hundredth time, I don’t care!”
“Amelia!”
“What?! You always have that excuse or decide to blame Garrett for your choices!”
“We both know, if it was the other way another and you were in my shoes, you would understand! We talked about this!”
“I know! And for the that, I say, screw you!”
That’s when Grant leaned forward against the table, his body dangling among the chair he sat in. Their face were mere inches apart, they can feel the other’s hot breath against one another’s face. Every scare, bump and bruise, laced across their face.
The tension was heating off their bodies, their breathing was thick and hitched.
“You don’t know me as well, as you think you do.” He growled under his breath, his back arched and his palms pressed against the table.
“Sure I do, baby.” She responded, growling in the same exact intensity.
However she held a light smirk, ripping off her restraints that she spent the last hours  loosing up, grunted as she both hands grabbed the back of his neck and slammed his face into the table.
She held out a breath, snatching the needle from his grasp and stabbing him with it. Grant broke free from her grasp just as quickly, as Amelia stumbled backwards. He launched at her as she jumped over the table and kicked him the chest.
Before they two knew it, they were dancing around, blocking and trying to punch one another into corners. Spinning, turning and trying to slam the other into a wall. Grunts, pounding from footsteps against the ground, shouts and screaming were heard from within the warehouse, as they broke though the walls and into the hallways.
--------------------------
At one point, Amelia raised her height was going to cause her a real disadvantage, Grant was taller than her by a lot. So just as he was about to launch at her once again, she reached up to a poll, grasping a tight grip before swinging her legs forwards launching Grant to break though the window of the door.
“I taught you well..” He muttered, a hint of pride in his voice, before grabbing her and swinging the brunette around as they head butted one another hitting against the tight narrow hallway.
Amelia head was slammed backwards, pounding firm near a wall, before her body slid downwards onto the floor as she grunted and let out a groaned. Grant towered over her just as Kara hurried in, holding her gun towards Amelia.
She was ready to shoot her, but didn’t, yet. She wanted to hear the apology, understand her pain. She exchanged a look with Ward.
Tumblr media
“Anything you want to say to Kara?” Grant asked, letting out a deep breath.
Amelia’s eyes darted between the door of them, her vision was blurry as she said, “..yeah.”
“She’s waiting.”
“I’m not sorry anymore..” Amelia muttered under her breath.
Kara exhaled, lowering the gun, “This isn’t right..I’m not feeling, she’s not sorry..”
Grant took the gun from her stuffing it into his back pocket and placed a hand on her shoulder, “It’s alright, baby, I know what to do..”
Her gaze flickered between the pair, one look from Grant and Amelia knew what was coming for her, he going to pull the trigger. The hours were running up.
He’ll do the one thing she seen him do, only once, years ago.
It will not just make her suffer but the ones who claimed to love her...

Deke Shaw - Bed sharing
Tumblr media
Warning : none
Genre : fluff
Synopsis : You're both tired and decide to share a bed
Reader : gender neutral (you/yours)
Tumblr media
You were tired and wanted to rest for a moment. You walked toward the couch only to witness Deke was already on it, laid down and eyes closed, snoring quietly under a small blanket.
You hesitated for a moment, watching him sleep peacefully but decided to wake him up anyway, gently shaking his shoulder and calling his name.
"Deke ? …Hey, wake up."
Slowly, he emerged before jolting awake, quickly explaining he wasn't asleep but just resting his eyes.
"Sure." You said, ruffling his hair, making him smile sheepishly. "Do you mind helping me turn the couch into a bed ?"
He stared at you, confused.
"Unless you want me to sleep on you ?" You added with a chuckle.
"Oh." Actually, he wouldn't have minded it. "Sure."
He got up quickly, stumbled a bit on his feet, and helped you, watching what you were doing to do the same thing and rapidly turn the couch into a bed.
You took the pillow and gave it to him, you could sleep on your arm. He took it and placed it on his side.
You yawned, slowly taking your place on the bed, and he did the same, much more energetically.
The idea of sharing a bed with you was too good for Deke. It had washed any tiredness he was feeling.
Your head was resting on your arm, you were facing him, eyes closed. He couldn't stop staring at you, his heart beating fast in his chest.
You scooted closer so you would be more under the blanket, too small to cover the whole bed, making Deke swallow hard at seeing you so close to him.
He tried to fall back asleep, his feet rubbing one another as he thought to stop looking at you. Without much success, opening one eye from time to time to make sure you're still here and still asleep. You were never leaving his mind.
He mentally complained each time you turned around, no longer facing him, and rejoicing each time you turned again, allowing him to look at your face once more.
He thought about caressing your face and actually did it before realizing you mind find it a bit creepy. He didn't want to look creepy to you, far from it. The simple possibility of being seen as it was enough to make his heart ache.
"If you're awake, please don't think I'm creepy, please don't think I'm creepy, please don't think I'm creepy, please don't think I'm creepy…" He thought to himself.
Were you always this close to him before ? No… it must be because you keep turning and turning that you're slowly moving closer.
It had his heart beat loudly, feeling paralyzed. He could wrap his arm around you and pull you against him, but he does not move.
He is fighting every possible muscle in his body to not do it. But you're so close… fuck !
You suddenly opened your eyes as if you had been startled, perhaps a bad dream ? Whatever it was had his heart jump out of his chest, scaring him silently.
"What ?" He nervously said, as if you had been able to read in his mind and know what he wanted to do.
"Mh ?" You looked at him with small eyes, ready to go back to sleep.
"No- Nothing…"
And just like that, you were gone again, sound asleep so close to him.
He could hear you breathing slowly, your face looking so peaceful, and once again, he wanted to caress it, but this time, he abstained. Preferring to stare than to touch, for once.
Finally, he fell asleep, too, his feet touching yours as he hugged himself to not wrap his arms around you.
Yet when you woke up, his arms were around you, holding you tightly as his face was planted against your back, the pillow now under your head.
How much did you two move during your sleep ?

Daisy paces around the room, her hands crossed over her chest. Y/N is sitting on their bed with a frown on her face. They’ve been fighting for a long time now. It started after a mission, where Y/N pushed Daisy out of harms way, even though she could have handled herself well.
“This isn’t the first time you’ve done this.” Daisy groans, looking at Y/N, who avoids eye contact with her. “It’s annoying.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I can handle myself.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I don’t need you to be sorry!” Her voice is louder now, making Y/N flinch slightly. “I need you to stop being so damn overprotective, I’m not a child that needs saving.”
Y/N stands up to level with Daisy. “I don’t think you are a child, I just don’t want you to get hurt, or..or die!”
“I’m not dying.” Daisy rubs her forehead, closing her eyes tightly. “Yes, there are risks, but this is the job we both signed up to do! And I can’t do that job, if you’re in my way.”
“I know there are risks, but me protecting you is part of the job! We keep each other safe.”
“Oh god.” Daisy groans loudly, throwing her head back. “You just don’t get it!”
“Then explain it to me!”
“I keep trying! I’ve tried and tried, but you just don’t care. You’re literally suffocating me!” Daisy’s hand are flying around the air as she yells. “Maybe this was a mistake!” She points between them. “Maybe we shouldn’t have gotten married.”
Y/N stares at Daisy. Her face fallen and tears threatening to fall down her cheeks. “Go to hell, Daisy.” Pulling off her wedding ring, she throws it in Daisy’s general direction. She runs out of the room, slamming the door shut in the process, and straight to Phil.
She’s full blown sobbing she reaches her adoptive father. “Hey, what happened?” He opens his arms instantly, wrapping his arms around her as she leans against him.
“We fought.” She cries, pressing her face against his shoulder, which quietens her voice even more. “She said that- that maybe our marriage was a mistake.”
“What?” One of Phil’s hands caresses her back, while the other combs through her hair, doing his best to console her. “Why?”
”Because I can’t stop suffocating her.”
Phil frowns, not knowing what to say, so he just continues comforting her until she gets tired. Then he brings Y/N to his room. “Go to sleep, okay? We’ll sort it out later.”
“Okay.” She whispers, flopping down to his bed and pulling the cover completely over her, wanting to hide from the world.
Shutting the lights, Phil leaves the room, closing the door behind him, before walking to what usually is Daisy and Y/N’s shared room. He knocks on the door, stepping inside once she hears a quiet come in from the inside.
Daisy is sitting on the bed, her cheeks red from crying. She tries to smile when she sees Phil coming in, but it doesn’t really look like one. “Hi.” Her voice is hoarse. “You heard?”
“Yeah.” Phil sits next to her.
“I feel awful. I didn’t mean to say it.”
“I know.”
“I just feel like we don’t understand each other.” She lets out a frustrated sigh. “I’m not incapable of taking care of myself.”
Patting Daisy’s leg, Phil looks at her. “Do you know why I adopted Y/N?” Daisy shakes her head, it wasn’t something she and Y/N talked about. “Her parents were SHIELD agents. One day, when Y/N was ten and had already gone through terrigenesis, they had a mission. Just the two of them, no backup. It was supposed to be easy, in and out.”
“What was the mission?”
“To find a cure for Y/N’s inhuman powers. It wasn’t a known thing back then, they thought it was..wrong and something to be cured.” He explains when Daisy grimaces. “They went into an abandoned HYDRA facility, except the intel was wrong. It was swarming with HYDRA agents. And because they had no backup, they were killed during that mission. I was the one to tell Y/N what happened. She blamed herself.”
“And she still does.” Daisy whispers, staring at her hands. “That’s why she’s so protective of the team.”
Phil nods. He watches Daisy wrap her head around the new information. “She doesn’t want anyone to die because she could’ve done more. Which is why she does the most on every single mission.”
“I should go talk to her.” Daisy stares at Y/N’s ring she’s holding and her own wedding ring on her finger. They got married for a reason. “Where is she?”
“In my room.”
“Okay, thank you, AC.” She stands up with a slight smile, ignoring the disapproving look Phil has on his face about the nickname.
Daisy knocks on the door, making herself known before stepping inside. The cover is moving up and down quietly, going with Y/N’s breathing. Sitting down behind her, Daisy sets her hand on Y/N’s shoulder, gently caressing it.
“Dad?” A muffled comes from under the covers.
“It’s me.”
Y/N stretches her neck back to see Daisy sitting there. She doesn’t look angry anymore, just sad. Y/N sits up on the bed, leaning her back against the backboard to put some space between the two.
“I brought your ring back.” Daisy sets the ring to the mattress. Y/N stays quiet. “Our marriage wasn’t a mistake. I’m sorry I said that, and I’m sorry I got angry at you. I was the one who didn’t understand.” Her voice is soft and she keeps eye contact with Y/N, wanting to show her she’s being genuine. “Coulson told me what happened with your parents,” this makes Y/N look away from her, “I shouldn’t have assumed the worst, but now I know.”
They stay quiet. Y/N is staring at the ring laying near her and Daisy is looking at her. Finally, Y/N picks up the ring and slides it back into her ring finger, where it belongs. “It’s okay.” She whispers with a small smile. “We still have a lot to learn, and I’ll try to be less overbearing.”
“Don’t.” Daisy moves to sit right next to Y/N so she can hold her hand. “You do the most during missions and that has saved our asses so many times. Don’t be anything less.”
Y/N leans her head on Daisy’s shoulder. “Okay.”
“I’m also sorry about your parents.”
Letting out a small hum, Y/N nods. Daisy stays quiet after that, noticing she doesn’t want to talk about them anymore. So, she lays her head on top of Y/N’s and puts on a movie, hoping tomorrow’ll be better.

Quake: Shadows of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Series Overview:
In the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) finds itself vulnerable. With S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded and former allies scattered, the world is left exposed to new and emerging threats. These aren’t the grand battles against alien invaders or gods, but rather insidious, shadowy forces manipulating global events from behind the scenes. Quake: Shadows of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, as she navigates this treacherous landscape, taking on a leadership role to revive S.H.I.E.L.D. — not as it was, but as it was meant to be. Along the way, she encounters Daredevil, a vigilante who operates in the shadows, bringing his own unique set of skills and moral dilemmas into the mix.
Tumblr media
Issue #1: The Shadows of a Broken World
Synopsis:
The world is fragile, and Daisy Johnson is trying to stay hidden from it. Disillusioned by the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the betrayals she’s faced, Daisy is attempting to lead a low-profile life. However, a mysterious message from her past pulls her back into the fray: “The world is more fragile than you think.”
Plot:
Daisy investigates and uncovers an unfinished S.H.I.E.L.D. operation codenamed “Project Phoenix.” This mission was designed to neutralize threats too dangerous for conventional methods — threats involving advanced technology, rogue superhumans, and remnants of Hydra and A.I.M. Daisy realizes the world needs S.H.I.E.L.D. once more, but in a form that’s mobile, flexible, and true to its core values. She decides to lead this new S.H.I.E.L.D. unit, ready to take on the dangers lurking in the shadows.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson (Quake): Daisy is more hardened and cynical than in her earlier days. She’s experienced loss and betrayal, but beneath her tough exterior, she still wants to protect the innocent. The story explores her internal struggle between the desire to live a normal life and the responsibility she feels towards the world.
Phil Coulson (AI or Hologram): Coulson makes a return, but not in the flesh. Instead, he’s a highly advanced AI, programmed with Coulson’s memories and personality. This AI serves as Daisy’s guide and moral compass, pushing her to see that S.H.I.E.L.D. can be a force for good if done right.
Maria Hill: Maria Hill, who has been operating in the shadows since the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., joins Daisy. She’s pragmatic, more willing to bend the rules, but her loyalty to the cause is unwavering. She believes Daisy is the leader the world needs.
New Characters: A young, tech-savvy hacker with ties to Wakanda and a former HYDRA operative seeking redemption join Daisy’s team. These new faces bring fresh perspectives and skills to the table, showing that the new S.H.I.E.L.D. is a mix of old values and new blood.
Cliffhanger:
Daisy, having accepted her new role, assembles a team aboard a stealth aircraft. They set out on their first mission, with Daisy declaring, “We’re bringing S.H.I.E.L.D. back—not the way it was, but the way it should have been.”
Issue #2: Into the Serpent’s Lair
Synopsis:
Daisy and her team uncover a plot that ties back to Hydra’s roots—an underground network of cells regaining power and manipulating global events from the shadows.
Plot:
Infiltrating a high-security compound in Eastern Europe, Daisy’s team discovers a bioweapon engineered to target superhumans, capable of turning their powers against them. During their mission, they encounter Daredevil, who has been tracking a mysterious syndicate in New York City involved in smuggling advanced weaponry into the U.S. His investigation has led him across the globe to the same Hydra operation Daisy is targeting.
Daredevil’s inclusion adds moral complexity to the mission. Known for his vigilantism, Daredevil operates outside the law, creating tension between him and Maria Hill, who, despite bending rules, still believes in a structured approach. The collaboration forces Daisy to navigate the differing philosophies of justice between Hill and Daredevil.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: As she leads her team deeper into the enemy’s lair, Daisy’s leadership is tested. She must learn to balance the safety of her team with the mission’s importance. Her past with Hydra resurfaces, bringing back painful memories that threaten to cloud her judgment.
Daredevil (Matt Murdock): Matt is thrust into a world much larger than his usual battles in Hell’s Kitchen. He is forced to confront his own limits and the implications of the Hydra threat on a global scale. Working with S.H.I.E.L.D. puts him in unfamiliar territory, but it also presents an opportunity to make a difference beyond New York.
Maria Hill: The tension between Hill and Daredevil adds depth to the narrative, highlighting the differing philosophies between those who operate within a system and those who work outside it. Hill’s pragmatism clashes with Daredevil’s vigilante justice, but ultimately, they both recognize the value in each other’s methods.
Cliffhanger:
Daredevil uncovers a Hydra plan to deploy the bioweapon in New York City, specifically targeting areas where superhumans are known to operate. As he prepares to leave for New York to stop the threat, Daisy convinces him to stay and help them finish the job in Europe first, setting the stage for a high-stakes collaboration.
Issue #3: The Arrival of Serpentor
Synopsis:
A new villain emerges from the shadows: Serpentor, a figure with deep connections to Hydra’s ancient history. He is not just a physical threat, but a master manipulator with a dark agenda that could plunge the world into chaos.
Plot:
Serpentor, having gained control of Hydra’s remnants, is seeking to resurrect an ancient weapon with the power to subjugate entire nations. Daisy and her team, now including Daredevil, must navigate a labyrinth of deception and ancient secrets to stop him. Along the way, they face ancient defenses and Serpentor’s loyal followers, who are willing to die to see his vision realized.
Daredevil’s unique abilities — his heightened senses and combat skills — prove invaluable as they navigate the ancient defenses protecting the Hydra temple. The partnership between Daisy and Daredevil deepens, with each learning to appreciate the other’s perspective and methods.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: Daisy struggles with the knowledge that this new enemy is unlike any she’s faced before — one who blends modern science with ancient mysticism. She must adapt quickly, learning to trust her instincts and lead her team through increasingly perilous situations.
Daredevil: Working alongside S.H.I.E.L.D., Matt struggles with his role in this larger conflict. He is used to being the lone protector of Hell’s Kitchen, but now he must learn to rely on a team, balancing his own methods with the need for coordinated efforts.
Serpentor: Serpentor is revealed to be more than just a physical threat. He’s a master manipulator, sowing discord within Daisy’s team by playing on their fears and doubts. His presence forces Daisy to confront her own insecurities about leadership and her ability to protect those she cares about.
Cliffhanger:
Daisy and Daredevil discover a hidden Hydra temple where Serpentor is preparing the final ritual to activate the ancient weapon. To stop him, Daisy realizes she may have to sacrifice something — or someone — dear to her.
Issue #4: The Heart of Hydra
Synopsis:
In the final showdown, Daisy and her team must infiltrate the heart of Hydra’s operation to destroy the ancient weapon before Serpentor can unleash its power on the world.
Plot:
As they face their toughest challenge yet, Daisy and her team discover that Hydra has infiltrated several global governments, ensuring that their fight won’t end here. The stakes are higher than ever as Daisy makes difficult decisions that challenge her leadership and the unity of her team. Daredevil plays a crucial role in disabling the ancient weapon’s defenses, using his unique abilities to detect traps and ambushes that the others might miss.
Character Development:
Daisy Johnson: Daisy fully embraces her role as a leader, making difficult decisions that put her at odds with her team. Her journey comes full circle as she finally reconciles with her past and takes a definitive stand against Hydra.
Daredevil: Matt comes to terms with the fact that his fight against crime has expanded beyond the streets of New York. He realizes that his skills are just as valuable on a global stage, and he contemplates how he can balance his life as a vigilante with the broader responsibilities that come with working alongside S.H.I.E.L.D.
Maria Hill: Hill’s loyalty to Daisy is solidified as she realizes that Daisy’s idealism is exactly what S.H.I.E.L.D. needs. She becomes Daisy’s right hand, ensuring that the new S.H.I.E.L.D. stays true to its mission.
Cliffhanger:
The ancient weapon and Hydra facility are destroyed, but Serpentor escapes, leaving behind a chilling message scrawled on the wall of the temple: “This is just the beginning. The true Hydra never dies, and neither will the darkness you’ve unleashed.” The final panel shows Daisy and Daredevil standing amidst the ruins, the weight of the warning heavy on their minds, knowing that their battle is far from over.

Healing and time (Platonic)
Daisy finds her younger sister after a heartbreak, and supports her.
Written for my dear friend @emcon-imagines (sending all my love, honey <3)
Tumblr media
You hadn’t really left your room, except for work. Everyone gave you space, but did let you know that they were there.
Daisy was worried. Really worried. Sure, she’d had flings before - even Miles - but nothing like what you had. Well, that, and her apparent choices in partners always ended wrong. You were better than her at that. Still, she was getting distracted with her own things. You needed her right no, your older sister.
She knocked on your door. No answer. She tried again. Same thing.
“Y/N? It’s me,” she says, softly but also loud enough for you to hear - your rooms were big after all.
She goes to knock again when your door opens. You look like you can barely stand.
She does a quick look at you, before asking, “you had anything to eat?”
You shake your head, not trusting words at this point in time.
“Ok,” is all she says. Then, “I’ll go get something.”
It takes a bit, but she ends up with food for you both. She opens the - now unlocked - door with her foot, shutting it with it as well. You’re sitting on your bed this time, playing with your fingers and sniffling. Daisy has a sympathetic smile on her face as she looks at you. She puts the food on your table.
“Stop it.”
“I’m not doing anything.”
“You’re staring.”
“Ok,” she says again, going to your bed and going under the covers, tapping next to her, “C’mere.”
“It’s my room.”
“And I’m the older sister. Now,” she taps again, but her voice is only gentle, “C’mere.”
You want to say more, but end up doing as Daisy asks and slip in next to her. She pulls you into her arms, “you’re mean.”
“I know,” she chuckles, before kissing your hair, “you’ll get through this,” she says.
“How do you know?”
As she talks, she runs her hand through your hair, “Because I have.”
“I’m not you.” “You’re not,” she agrees, “you’re better.”
“But you’ve always come out the other side of it, ok.”
“Because I went through it over, and over, and over again,” she reminds you, “I don’t want that for you, kid.”
“I don’t know what I want, right now.”
“That’s ok,” she assures, “right now, if anything, I’d say time.”
“How much?”
“As much as you need.”
“What if it’s a while?”
“Then it’s a while,” she says, squeezing you against her, “the pain will become more easy to deal with. But, for now, we deal with it.”
“How?”
“Well, we don’t ignore it. We feel it,” she moves, laying down. You follow her action, the two of you facing each other, “cry, anger; whatever it is you feel, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. Sisters for life, remember?”
You smile, despite the tears in your eyes, “yeah,” you say, hooking your pinky finger into hers, “sisters for life.” you then sniff, “is that chocolate?”
Daisy giggles, “Maybe. Special treat for emergencies. Coulson won’t miss it. He shouldn’t have shown me where it was in the first place.”
You giggle as well, “well, what are we waiting for?”
“Thought you’d never ask,” she says, getting up and getting the trays and bringing them over.
You both sit back up, and start eating.
“Thank you. For this.”
“Of course,” she says, ruffling your hair. “Love can be a painful thing sometimes, but it can also be beautiful. You’ll get there. Can’t wait to see it. Until then. I’m staying right here, I promise.”
And she did.

Star-Crossed Agents
Grant Ward x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Written for my personal fic writing challenge for 2024, Sophie's Year of Fic! Featuring a new fic being posted every Friday, all year long :)
Fandom: Marvel
Summary: Grant's SO is part of SciTech, which means they have to sneak around a little bit to hang out, and with the end of their Academy careers approaching it's harder than ever to find time for each other
Word Count: 1,485
Category: Fluff
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
I took a deep breath in and then let it out, slow and heavy in a massive sigh. I'd been staring at my laptop for what felt like an eternity, and I was about to truly and completely lose it.
I snapped out of my thousand yard stare at the screen two feet in front of me at the sound of my dorm window sliding open. I shot up from my desk and whirled around only to find my boyfriend, Grant Ward, hanging out of my window.
"You gave me a heart attack," I said by way of hello as I rushed to the window to help him the rest of the way through. He had takeout containers in one hand, which I immediately took to make sure he wouldn't drop them. I turned to set them on my desk, and by the time I returned to Grant, he'd made it all the way through my window and stood in the middle of my room with his hands on his hips.
"Really? You went for the food before me?"
I just shrugged and grinned at him. "You're a Specialist in the top of your class. I figured you'd be able to handle it, especially since you've done it a thousand times before."
He sighed, but didn't waste another second before crossing the room to kiss me either. His arms wound their way around my waist as he pulled me to him, and I brushed one hand against his cheek before gently pulling back.
"I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but I don't think I'm gonna be a very good date tonight. Between trying to finish out the SciTech-Ops prank war and my final thesis project being due in just a few months, I'm probably going to have to mostly do work tonight."
"I don't mind helping you with SciTech pranks, if that's what you're working on," said Grant as we walked to my desk together, sitting shoulder to shoulder. "Why don't you open up your notes on that, and let me see all the things you have planned."
I scoffed. "I thought Specialists were supposed to be better at getting information out of people than that."
Grant fixed me with a look and put his hands on the arms of my chair, slowly leaning in until his face was inches from mine, effectively pinning me to the spot.
"I bet I could get you to give up some secrets if I tried."
I leaned in, closing the distance between us until our lips were barely a hair's breadth apart. Then I smiled.
"Nice try, but I'm already betraying my entire school by dating you. No way I'm giving the Ops kids an edge in the prank war. And no way I'm letting you distract me, either, I have work to do."
Grant sighed, but when he leaned in for a kiss it was just a quick peck before he sat back in his own chair.
"Fine. We don't really need your help to win, anyway. We've got this in the bag."
"Mhmm. And you just keep telling yourself that, Superspy."
Grant and I shared a grin as he dished up our food and I reluctantly turned back to my laptop. Leaning against Grant and having him here, especially with some of my favorite food, made trying to work less frustrating. But it didn't magically spark any inspiration or ideas like I'd hoped it would.
After we finished dinner, Grant crossed the room to kick back on my bed and cracked open a book while I kept trying to make my brain work. I stared at the computer screen, just trying to get some kind of brainstorm to start. I felt a headache coming on with every passing moment, and my brain started to feel literally heavy, like thick fog was just sitting up there, weighing me down. My eyes squinted against the glare of the screen, and still I didn't move, scanning over my notes like they might magically add some insight that they hadn't before.
I jumped when a hand landed on my shoulder, then turned with bleary eyes to find Grant had returned to sit next to me, a worried expression on his face.
"Are you alright? You were starting to look like a zombie over here."
"Yeah, yeah, just... waiting for inspiration to strike."
"...And how's that going?"
"Uh. Not well."
Grant huffed a laugh, the corner of his mouth quirking up in a smile as he pulled me a little closer to his side.
"Then I think it's time we take a break together."
I sighed and leaned my head against his shoulder. Truly all I wanted to do was spend time with him, without anything SHIELD-related hanging over our heads, but final tests were coming soon and I really didn't have a moment to spare.
"I don't think I can, Grant. Everything I've been working for since the day I got here all comes down to this project. I have to make sure it's perfect."
"Right now you're not going to be able to make anything perfect."
I pulled back, mouth dropping open as I glared at him, but he just stared right back with the frank appraisal of a Specialist that I both loved and hated.
"Your brain is clearly fried from working on this for too long. Anything you put down now is just going to be something you have to go back and fix later. I've seen it before, from new Ops recruits and from you. You need a break. If you take one, odds are you're going to have a much easier time brainstorming and working things through after you spend some time not thinking about this project. It'll be faster and better than anything you might manage to force out now."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "That... actually kind of makes sense..."
"I know it does. It's because I'm right." I scoffed, but Grant ignored it, instead leaning forward and resting a hand on my thigh. "Besides, the next month or so is going to be hell for both of us. Between your final projects and all of my practical exams before we graduate... I'm barely going to have time to see you. So we should enjoy the time we have now, while we still can."
I sighed, leaning forward and raising one hand to rest at the nape of Grant's neck, gently touching my forehead to his.
"I don't like to think about that," I admitted. "Or about how much harder it's going to be to stay together when you're out in the field and I'm in the Hub or the Triskelion doing work."
"I know. I hate thinking about that too."
We fell into silence for a few moments, the uncertainty of both of our futures hanging over us. Grant's grip on me tightened slightly, and I sighed. He was right. I needed a break, and I needed to enjoy every moment I could get while it was just the two of us like this.
"You know what? I think we'll be fine," I said, straightening up enough to meet Grant's eyes. "If we can make it work as two people from rival SHIELD schools dating each other? Like a more intense version of Romeo and Juliet? Then I think we're gonna be just fine, no matter what the rest of the world tries to throw at us."
"...You know Romeo and Juliet ended pretty badly for both of them-"
"I know! I was just trying to make a point, we're from aggressively rival groups and we're finding love anyway. Just... ignore the ending."
Grant chuckled. "Alright. So does this mean you're going to take a break with me?"
"Yes, it does. Come on, let's watch some terrible tv and eat the chocolate I keep in the bottom drawer of my desk for emergencies and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist."
Grant smiled, catching my chin before I could move away and pulling me back to him for a long, deep kiss. When we finally broke apart, I was breathing hard and grinning like an idiot at the man before me. I really, really loved him, even though when he finally spoke he said:
"Anything but Love Island."
"What! Grant, come on. We were almost done with the last season! We have to get caught up before the new one starts."
"No way. I'll watch anything but that."
"...Anything?"
He sighed. "This is gonna be a long night, isn't it?"
I just grinned at him. It was fun to give him a hard time, but at the end of the day, I was happy doing anything as long as I got to do it with him. And I knew he felt exactly the same way. We'd make it work, from picking a tv show tonight to whatever our futures might have in store for us after this.

Combat Training: Trained in various forms of hand-to-hand combat and armed combat, Amelia is a formidable opponent in combat situations.
Tumblr media
Background: Unlike the original timeline where Amelia dreamed of becoming a SHIELD agent to protect and serve, in this AU, she was recruited into Hydra at a young age. Growing up in Queens, she always felt like an outsider, hiding her true nature as an Inhuman/Mutant. When Hydra discovered her abilities in the later years, they saw her potential as a valuable asset. However she made it clear to have her abilities used on her own terms and conditions, she wasn't going to be their little toy.
Under the guise of a loyal agent, Amelia rose through the ranks of Hydra, honing her skills and serving their sinister agenda. She became known as Tempest, a name that struck fear or uncertainty into the hearts of her enemies. "Tempest" symbolize her ability to stir up and control emotions, much like a storm can whip up turbulent winds and chaos. It also represent her inner turmoil and the internal struggles she faces as she grapples with her loyalties and the choices she must make.
Alongside her allegiance to Hydra, she also aligned herself with the Brotherhood of Mutants, drawn to their vision of mutant supremacy.
Motivation: Amelia's loyalty to Hydra stems from a desire for power and control. Having felt marginalized and overlooked for much of her life, she sees Hydra as a means to exert her influence and shape the world according to her will. She believes in the supremacy of mutants and is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their dominance.
Relationships: While Amelia may form alliances and partnerships within Hydra and the Brotherhood, her true loyalty lies with her own ambitions. She is skilled at manipulation and may feign friendships or romantic entanglements to further her own agenda. However, deep down, she harbors a sense of loneliness and isolation, knowing that her true nature must remain hidden from those around her.
———
Additional Information:
Deep down, Amelia harbors a sense of loneliness and isolation, knowing that her true nature must remain hidden from those around her. Despite this, she found solace in a relationship with her boyfriend Nikolai, where they shared a sense of comfort, understanding, and love.
When Amelia was assigned by her boss John Garrett, an undercover Hydra agent within SHIELD, to work alongside Phil Coulson and his team, she was hesitant at first. However, she discovered a warmth, confidence, and strong sense of compassion when working with Coulson and meeting the Young Avengers.
Over time, she found herself drawn to them, allowing her walls to slowly fall as she began to desire something more for herself.
During the fall of SHIELD and the revelation of Hydra's infiltration, Amelia's cover was blown along with many other agents.
In a pivotal moment, she betrayed Ward and the team, saving them and herself. Following Hydra's downfall, Amelia went into hiding, forging her own path and rebuilding her guard.
However, she remained on the radar of both the Young Avengers and SHIELD...
